Auralia

An Eldar outcast, finding herself on Terra with no home and a guilty conscience.

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Baron von Bad

Description

Description
Image
Auralia is an Eldar, a pointed eared race of elven-esque people who live amongst the stars. Her race is very prideful and looks down on most other races, deeming them inferior. The Eldar tend to be disliked by most.

Standing at 5'4 she's not the tallest of her kind, but her youthful, inhuman beauty makes up for it. Her raven black hair falls down to her shoulders, and is kept out of her large, piercing green eyes. Her elegant features are rather round, which isn't common for her kind. Auralia's skin if fair and smooth.

Being an Eldar, Auralia's body is more advanced than a Human's, her reactions are incredibly quick, and her agility, flexiblity and balance is far better than the average human, allowing her to perform all manner of acrobatic maneuvers. She seems to move with a certain distracting grace. And she has a natural affinity for psychic abilities.

Also a racial trait is her long lifespan, Auralia is currently 96 years old, and most of her kind can live for thousands of years.

Personality

Auralia is a very brash and aggressive individual. She often rushes into situations without thinking; usually in an attempt to look brave. She is overconfident and has a superiority complex. Other species are inferior in her eyes, and she often refers to them as “Mon'keigh”, a term for lesser species in her native language. Since Eldar emotions are incredibly strong, she sometimes has trouble keeping her feelings in check. Anger is especially hard for her to keep in check, causing her to be prone to angry outbursts.

Equipment

Shuriken Pistols

Holstered at her hips are two shuriken pistols. These weapons fire a flesh-tearing hail of razor-sharp shuriken missiles by means of a gravitic accelerator. The shuriken themselves are razor-sharp monomolecular-edged discs of plasti-crystal. A shuriken disc can slice straight through flesh and bone, and can penetrate a considerable thickness of metal. A single solid core of plasti-crystal is used as ammunition. Shuriken pistols have a very high rate of fire, able to fire up to a hundred rounds in one or two seconds at the cost of accuracy. Each core is good for about 10 of these bursts.

Mono-knives

This pair of single-edged knives are 16 inches long with a 10 inch mono molecular blade capable of cutting through nearly anything.

Mesh Armor

This armor is made of tens of thousands flexible of interwoven scales of psycho-plastics. When hit these scales become momentarily rigid, reducing the damage done. The scales also disperse heat rapidly, giving extra protection against energy attacks. It is colored white, with purple trim. A small section of armor on the outside of her right thigh is patchwork, and of lower quality than the rest of the armor.

Banshee Mask

Made of a more rigid, stronger material than the rest of her armor, the Banshee Mask covers her entire face and head, and can stop most small arms fire. Built into the mask is a special psychosonic amplifier, turning Auralia's raging battle cry into a devastating psychic barrage. This psychic scream breaks concentration, and can temporarily stun opponents for a short period of time. The mask has an air-filtration system to protect Auralia from harmful gases and toxic environments, it also has a re-breather as well as night vision and thermal vision systems.

Smoke Grenades

When activated, these grenades release a dense smokescreen, obscuring eyesight. Perfect for escape or distraction.

Waystone

A Waystone is a small, seemingly precious stone carried on her chest. The moment Auralia dies her soul will be trapped in this stone, saving her from eternal damnation.

Abilities

Being naturally psychic, Auralia uses her psychic powers to her advantage in combat. However using these abilities can be mentally draining, especially when used for particularly complex things. Intense pain and severe injury can break her concentration, preventing her from using her psychic abilities.

Telekinesis

Telekinesis allows her to manipulate objects from a distance. This allows her to interact with objects as if she was actually holding them. She can pull pins from grenades, pull the trigger of a gun or even throw and guide objects through the air. She can use this on willing living targets.

Barrier

Auralia can summon a protective dome of psychic energy around her, effectively blocking projectile attacks. However it is very difficult for her to hold the barrier up for a long amount of time, and she cannot move out of the barrier while it is activated.

Push

The simplest of Auralia's abilities, she can release blasts of psychic force from her hands and feet, capable of hurling objects, people and even herself with great force.

History

Auralia lived on the exodite world Veleria, an exodite world was for Eldar who wished to break away from the rest of their kind. Thick jungles covered most of the planet, teeming with life, both plant and animal. Being out of the way from most other “civilized” planets, not much war came to Veleria. Auralia spent most of her life training to fight an enemy that seemed like it would never come. Most of the fighting she and her fellow Eldar did was against the beasts of their planet, which were quite ferocious in their own way.

However, the farseers began to have visions of a terrible invasion by the vicious alien race, the Tyranids. The Eldar warriors trained intensely and were always diligent in preparation for the coming invasion. When the Tyranid hive fleet was detected in the system, Auralia faced fear unlike any she had felt before. Auralia decided to gather up her things and venture through the webway, a complex series of inter-planetary tunnels. With a map in hand she traveled for what felt like months until she finally emerged on Terra. Auralia was wracked with guilt about leaving her people and not dying an honorable death by defending her home.

So begins...

“It's healed enough.” Auralia grumbled as she continued to walk, a drop of blood fell from her fingertip, onto the old floorboards. She didn't bother explaining the blood, as that would be explained soon enough without any words, if Morbin followed her into the reception room of the hotel. Auralia raised her hand and pointed at the reception desk, where a body was slumped. A pool of blood dripped off the counter steadily, the wood of the desk was smashed, and the poor soul slumped against it had his skull caved in. The corpse wore armor similar to what Morbin wore, and bore the mark of Slaanesh. “He disturbed my meditation.” She said angrily.

“I ended him just a few minutes ago, then you returned...” Auralia said the last part with a bit of resentment in her melodic, alien voice. The now dead man was probably a scout, as Morbin had said. That didn't sit well with Auralia, the Slaaneshi cultist woman didn't sit well with her either. it was just the young Eldar's luck to be in an area with them, wasn't it? “We should probably start moving again.” With that, she walked out of the building, the broken glass of the long shattered door crunching under her feet.

It was bright and hot outside, but the sun was nowhere to be seen. Somewhere off in the distance, artillery thundered like ancient war drums. Auralia looked over her shoulder, just to make sure Morbin was coming.

Auralia Stopped in her tracks and looked at her companion, tilting her head slightly. “No, and I don't need or want to eat.” She grumbled after a few moments of staring. With that she turned and went back to walking, her banshee mask mirrored her bad mood wonderfully. Out in the middle of the street, she was like a bright target for all to see, with her white and green armor.

When she thought about it, she really was hungry, but she was in a bad mood and didn't really feel like sitting down for a peaceful meal. She looked down at herself while she walked, her armor was cracked in spots, and her mask and upper body was completely bloodstained. Auralia definitely didn't look like a fragile Eldar maiden anymore. After a while she looked over at Morbin, and started to speak. “Morbin, what are-” She was interrupted mid-sentence.

A bright flash of light seemed to illuminate the whole city for a brief moment. The swirling, menacing purple sky opened up and something slipped out. It was a small transport ship, Imperial by design, the sky closed behind it just as quickly as it had opened. Auralia decided to get out of the road, she hurried over to Morbin's side. “Friends of yours?” She asked hurriedly, the ship disappeared behind the buildings, it was clear the thing wasn't going to make a clean landing. Shortly after, a deafening crash shook the earth as the transport hit solid ground a few blocks away.

Auralia Crouched next to Morbin, after the ship had appearance crashed, there were no other sounds besides the constant thundering of artillery in the distance. “Well... Shall we investigate?” She finally asked, yes a stupid idea, but she had never heard the saying 'curiosity killed the cat'. Without even waiting for an answer she stood up and started moving again, this time she stuck close to buildings.

“If there are survivors we just kill them, what are you, scared?” She said mockingly, while keeping up a brisk pace towards the wreckage. A pillar of smoke could be seen rising above the buildings, a signal to them, and everyone else in the city, as to where the thing crashed. Shadows darted around and in buildings across the street from the pair, the crash had probably alerted all the cultists in the city.

Eventually they reached a building that had a good view of the wreck ship. The damage was bad, but the possibility of survivors was still great. Nothing moved around outside of the smoldering ship, as far as Auralia could see. “Shall we go in?” She asked Morbin, her foul mood had been temporarily pushed away by this new development.

Auralia Rolled her eyes. “Well if you're too scared to go in first...” She mumbled, just to tease him. With a chuckle she hopped over the rubble and cautiously approached the downed ship. Now she was less of a target and more of a big neon sign that said 'shoot me'. In the buildings all around here, faint noises could be heard, no doubt cultists were skulking around.

Auralia reached the ship, and was about to start prying open the door after taking a quick peek around the thing. But before she had a chance, muffled shouts could be heard from the inside, and a moment later the door was kicked open. An Imperial soldier, dressed in a cream colored greatcoat stepped out, another similarly dressed soldier followed him, they both were bickering about this place not being their destination. Before Auralia could move out of sight, one of them spotted her, the other did shortly after. But did they not raise their lasrifle to shoot, they just started at the blood drenched warrior in confusion and a little bit of fear. “Where the fuck are we?” One of the men asked nervously. Auralia had no words, why wasn't he firing upon her, and why wasn't she firing upon him?

Auralia entered the quiet bar. She was clad in white and purple form fitting armor with a cold, expressionless mask. With long strides she approached the bar counter, and activated a nearby holo menu. With no living bartenders around, machines were left to do the job. “Human drinks...” She said disdainfully, her alien accent clearly noticeable. She settled on picking a simple glass of water while she tried to make sense of her other choices.

The robotic server placed the cool drink down in front of her. Auralia removed her mask, revealing her youthful features for all to see. The tips of pointed ears poked through her black hair. While she drank, the woman observed the rest of the bar, which was mostly empty except for a few quiet patrons. It was a surprisingly pleasant time to be at Gambit's.

Auralia quietly strode into the bar. Once again it was almost completely empty. Maybe the bar's popularity had fallen over the years. She walked over to the bar, her white form-fitting armor caused her footfalls to click sharply with each step. Upon sitting down, a holo menu opened up in front of her, listing a dizzying amount of food and drink. With piercing emerald eyes, Auralia observed the menu. “Human drinks...” She mumbled disdainfully, her expression unamused and slightly confused. Despite all her time here, she still couldn't figure what was what on these human menus.

Auralia sighed in defeat, the menu would remain a mystery to her. She dismissed the hologram rather forcefully after simply asking for a glass of water. She looked over her shoulder at the newcomer, a muscular man with a sheathed sword balanced on his shoulders. After regarding him for a moment, she turned to her drink.

The almost-silence of the bar was a pleasant change of pace, in a way. Auralia brushed her hair out of her eyes; the tips of pointed ears were visible through her black hair.
