Auralia

An Eldar outcast, finding herself on Terra with no home and a guilty conscience.

0 · 762 views · located in The Infinite Void

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Baron von Bad

Description

Description
Image
Auralia is an Eldar, a pointed eared race of elven-esque people who live amongst the stars. Her race is very prideful and looks down on most other races, deeming them inferior. The Eldar tend to be disliked by most.

Standing at 5'4 she's not the tallest of her kind, but her youthful, inhuman beauty makes up for it. Her raven black hair falls down to her shoulders, and is kept out of her large, piercing green eyes. Her elegant features are rather round, which isn't common for her kind. Auralia's skin if fair and smooth.

Being an Eldar, Auralia's body is more advanced than a Human's, her reactions are incredibly quick, and her agility, flexiblity and balance is far better than the average human, allowing her to perform all manner of acrobatic maneuvers. She seems to move with a certain distracting grace. And she has a natural affinity for psychic abilities.

Also a racial trait is her long lifespan, Auralia is currently 96 years old, and most of her kind can live for thousands of years.

Personality

Auralia is a very brash and aggressive individual. She often rushes into situations without thinking; usually in an attempt to look brave. She is overconfident and has a superiority complex. Other species are inferior in her eyes, and she often refers to them as “Mon'keigh”, a term for lesser species in her native language. Since Eldar emotions are incredibly strong, she sometimes has trouble keeping her feelings in check. Anger is especially hard for her to keep in check, causing her to be prone to angry outbursts.

Equipment

Shuriken Pistols

Holstered at her hips are two shuriken pistols. These weapons fire a flesh-tearing hail of razor-sharp shuriken missiles by means of a gravitic accelerator. The shuriken themselves are razor-sharp monomolecular-edged discs of plasti-crystal. A shuriken disc can slice straight through flesh and bone, and can penetrate a considerable thickness of metal. A single solid core of plasti-crystal is used as ammunition. Shuriken pistols have a very high rate of fire, able to fire up to a hundred rounds in one or two seconds at the cost of accuracy. Each core is good for about 10 of these bursts.

Mono-knives

This pair of single-edged knives are 16 inches long with a 10 inch mono molecular blade capable of cutting through nearly anything.

Mesh Armor

This armor is made of tens of thousands flexible of interwoven scales of psycho-plastics. When hit these scales become momentarily rigid, reducing the damage done. The scales also disperse heat rapidly, giving extra protection against energy attacks. It is colored white, with purple trim. A small section of armor on the outside of her right thigh is patchwork, and of lower quality than the rest of the armor.

Banshee Mask

Made of a more rigid, stronger material than the rest of her armor, the Banshee Mask covers her entire face and head, and can stop most small arms fire. Built into the mask is a special psychosonic amplifier, turning Auralia's raging battle cry into a devastating psychic barrage. This psychic scream breaks concentration, and can temporarily stun opponents for a short period of time. The mask has an air-filtration system to protect Auralia from harmful gases and toxic environments, it also has a re-breather as well as night vision and thermal vision systems.

Smoke Grenades

When activated, these grenades release a dense smokescreen, obscuring eyesight. Perfect for escape or distraction.

Waystone

A Waystone is a small, seemingly precious stone carried on her chest. The moment Auralia dies her soul will be trapped in this stone, saving her from eternal damnation.

Abilities

Being naturally psychic, Auralia uses her psychic powers to her advantage in combat. However using these abilities can be mentally draining, especially when used for particularly complex things. Intense pain and severe injury can break her concentration, preventing her from using her psychic abilities.

Telekinesis

Telekinesis allows her to manipulate objects from a distance. This allows her to interact with objects as if she was actually holding them. She can pull pins from grenades, pull the trigger of a gun or even throw and guide objects through the air. She can use this on willing living targets.

Barrier

Auralia can summon a protective dome of psychic energy around her, effectively blocking projectile attacks. However it is very difficult for her to hold the barrier up for a long amount of time, and she cannot move out of the barrier while it is activated.

Push

The simplest of Auralia's abilities, she can release blasts of psychic force from her hands and feet, capable of hurling objects, people and even herself with great force.

History

Auralia lived on the exodite world Veleria, an exodite world was for Eldar who wished to break away from the rest of their kind. Thick jungles covered most of the planet, teeming with life, both plant and animal. Being out of the way from most other “civilized” planets, not much war came to Veleria. Auralia spent most of her life training to fight an enemy that seemed like it would never come. Most of the fighting she and her fellow Eldar did was against the beasts of their planet, which were quite ferocious in their own way.

However, the farseers began to have visions of a terrible invasion by the vicious alien race, the Tyranids. The Eldar warriors trained intensely and were always diligent in preparation for the coming invasion. When the Tyranid hive fleet was detected in the system, Auralia faced fear unlike any she had felt before. Auralia decided to gather up her things and venture through the webway, a complex series of inter-planetary tunnels. With a map in hand she traveled for what felt like months until she finally emerged on Terra. Auralia was wracked with guilt about leaving her people and not dying an honorable death by defending her home.

So begins...

Auralia Much of Auralia's armor had started to crack under the weight of the Necron, but she was thankfully released by her friend. She still had the problem of a staff stuck in her thigh, though, which was an equally unpleasant sensation. She looked up at Morbin, and attempted to chuckle, but it just ended in a sputter and cough. It seemed that she really had needed human to help her, no doubt the mocking would begin as soon as she was completely free of this predicament.

Auralia Was left with only a bleeding hole in her thigh, then, which was still a very unpleasant sensation.

Auralia Watched Morbin work, here she was, allowing a lowly human to fix her up. The mere thought would have disgusted a younger, more naive Auralia, but not now. “Coward.” She mumbled after Morbin stopped the bleeding and called her an idiot, though her words were halfhearted. The Guardsman was brave enough to save her from being horribly crushed, that was something. Auralia simply watched her companion, not bothering to even try to move a single inch.

Auralia Relaxed as the anesthetic kicked in, closing her eyes as she listened to Morbin's harsh words. When his words drifted off into nothing she opened an emerald eye and managed to sit herself up. “Morbin... Your hand, it's...” She too trailed off, it was obvious that the Guardsman already saw. Was this her fault? It probably was, and she honestly felt bad because of it. “I'm sorry, Morbin.” She mumbled, her gaze drifted to his eyepiece for a moment, the sheer amount of rage that it looked at her with frightened her.

Auralia Frowned and bit her lip lightly, she pushed herself over next to Morbin and took the bandages from him. “It'll be okay, Morbin, we... We can get you a new hand, a proper one.” She said softly as she started to bandage her companion's hand for him. “We'll get it all back for you, don't worry.” Once she finished bandaging his hand she put an arm around his shoulder, the anesthetic had was working completely now, she couldn't feel her thigh at all.

Auralia Here they were, a human and an Eldar sitting on a bloodstained barroom floor, what an odd sight. Auralia patted Morbin's back as he rested his head on her shoulder. “It'll be okay.” She said softly, not bothering to comment on whether or not he made a mistake by joining the Imperial Guard. “How about we get you up to my room, where there's a nice, warm bed?” She asked her companion, even though she hadn't the slightest clue how she could even walk to the elevator.

Auralia Wrapped her arm around Morbin's neck and managed to stand up, without his help she would've been stuck on the floor for quite a while. Once they entered the elevator she hit the button for the 7th floor, the doors closed and up they went, at speeds that would be considered unsafe anywhere other than the Multiverse.

Auralia Chuckled as she unlocked the door. “Because I thought it would be fun to make you climb all those stairs.” She sighed when she was placed down on the bed, she felt a little useless being unable to walk. “Sit down, Morbin.” She said and patted the spot next to her. Auralia looked down at herself, the armor scales on her chest were cracked, and were completely gone where the staff had pierced her. That was going to take a while to fix. “Thanks for... For saving me back there.”

Auralia Sat in silent thought for a few moments, Morbin's words had put a small smile on her face. She reached out and gently grasped his good hand, squeezing it lightly. “It'll be okay...” She said, then paused for a moment before speaking once more. “I'll try to make you a new hand, one that will work and won't be infected with chaos. Okay?” The task of making a working artificial hand was a daunting one, but she had to make Morbin feel better somehow.

Auralia Looked down at her wounded thigh, then back at her Guardsman friend. “I'm afraid healing isn't exactly my forte, you should do it.” She looked back down at her leg, her damaged, form fitting armor was probably going to keep Morbin from properly fixing her up. “Could you help me to the bathroom first?” She motioned to the door at the other end of the room. “I should get out of this armor.”

Auralia Smiled back at Morbin, shooting him a devilish look. “If you take even one peek I'll make sure you lose your other eye.” With that she closed the door behind her, holding on to pretty much anything she could reach in order to stand up, she kept the door unlocked just as Morbin had told her. After a few minutes and some very loud Eldar curses later, she opened the door again, without her armor for once. She wore clothing akin to a kimono, made of fine fabrics. It was rather short too, so that her thigh wound was visible, right above her knee. “You're the first human to see me without my suit, you should feel lucky.”

Auralia Waved a finger at her companion. “If it was any Eldar other than me the price would be much higher.” She said teasingly as she was lead to the bed. Auralia felt as vulnerable as she looked, but she trusted Morbin wouldn't try anything. “They're starting to wear off a bit, but I can handle it, I won't flip out.” She looked down at her leg once again, it looked so odd for so much of her soft, alabaster skin to be exposed, but it was a refreshing change. “Now get to work, doctor boy.” She said with a grin.

Auralia Pouted when Morbin stuck another syrette in her leg. “Hey! I told you I could handle it, I didn't need that!” With a 'hmpf' she folded her arms across the soft fabric that covered her chest. She kept her eyes on Morbin while he worked, and when he told her to look the other way she shook her head firmly, determined to watch whatever he was doing. Auralia winced slightly as she watched her human friend stitch close her wound, but she didn't make a single sound throughout it.

Auralia With a sigh, Auralia rolled over onto her stomach. She looked over her should at Morbin, making sure to keep a watchful eye on him. “This feels so degrading, why did I have to be stabbed in the thigh of all places.” She whined, then buried her face in the bed. If only her old friends knew what she was allowing Morbin to do, she should be able to heal herself, not have to rely on some human to do it for her! But still, she was grateful for his assistance.

As soon as Morbin finished stitching up the exit wound, she rolled over onto her back again, only to be greeted by the sight of Vircus. She looked less than thrilled to see the Harlequin in her room. “An acquaintance, nothing more.” She grumbled to Morbin, her emerald eyes flicking between the two of them. “Why are you here, Harlequin?”

Auralia Sat up with a sigh, and looked between the two men. She blinked as the Harlequin's mask changed its face, how curious. A soft chuckled escaped her lips at her companion's words. “Well said, Morbin.” She said to him quietly, while poking the soft flesh of her wounded thigh, it was completely numb again. For now she would just watch Morbin and Vircus intently.

Auralia Rolled her eyes, Vircus was the strangest Eldar she had ever met, then again, he was the first Harlequin she had ever met too. His mockery of the Eldar religion was appalling as well. “I have never met a shadowseer, no. And I don't think I've been missing out on all that much, besides the sitting on the ceiling thing...” She said with a blink, why was he sitting on the ceiling now? Auralia shrugged and looked over at Morbin, only to find that he wasn't there anymore! With a sigh she fell backwards onto the bed again. “I'm afraid my companion has left me, and I am very tired. Enjoy your ceiling sitting, I am going to sleep.”

Auralia A long, low beep rang out from the elevator, the doors slid open shortly after. Auralia stepped out, wearing her shining, white and slightly cracked armor. She hobbled out, using one of her swords as a crutch. She spotted her Guardsman friend and slowly made her way over to Morbin's table, grumbling under her breath as she sat down across from him. “I feel like an old, human woman. This is embarrassing.” She grumbled, her injured leg was really getting in the way of things, but at least she was on her way to recovery.”

Auralia Waved a dismissive hand at Morbin's comment about the fight being pointless. “Well at least I didn't run aw-” She stopped mid-mumbled when her companion raised his new hand. Auralia scrutinized the thing, her inhuman gaze taking in every detail of the thing. “I hope this one isn't as feisty as that eyepiece of yours, I don't want any chaos infected hand grabbing at me.” When she finished examining Morbin's new hand, she looked at him and flashed her friend a small, teasing smile.

Auralia Rolled her eyes, an alternate dimension with organ stealing, bionic hand building hookers, how pleasant. She was about to speak when Michael sat down near them, she shot him a confused look and raised a single delicate eyebrow. Immediately after that, she glanced over at Morbin with a look that said 'what did he just say?'
