a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Knosis

Description

Name: Cinder
Age:376
Race: Demon
Power: Flame control

History:
Cinder showed up into the multiverse as there was a mission for her to undertake from the organization. Her mission was to take out or recruit the man named Tallon, in which many battles ensued. Even though it was unintentional, she began to make friends within the city and began to open up to them showing them the side of her that wished anything to be free of the clutches of the organization. With some help, she was finally able to do so.

However, the story of Cinder has only just begun. As soon as she escaped the clutches of the organization, she began to discover more of who she was, and why she was created. Losing herself into the madness of understanding she was part of a bigger plot than she realize, there were times she would black out and end up in a different location altogether. Pain and misfortune tended to follow her after these black outs. At the same time, she met Drakuus Flavaar, who at the time was suffering between a relationship of his own. It didn't take long to figure out this much more aggressive nature was definitely not that of the usually calm Cinder.

She discovered that her blackouts were caused by a second soul within her that had awakened, that she named Kenna. They were created together by the Fallen in order to bring about the end of the world.

As long as Kenna was locked away in her prison, everything would be fine.. Right? Wrong. With their creator hot on their trails, the Fallen one knew exactly who was suppose to still be loyal to him and freed Kenna from the prison, allowing her to start to grow her powers, her lust for destruction strong. Cinder, on the other hand, continued to have problems with possession after her birthday. Cinder had always thought it would be just a battle between her sister Kenna and herself for the rest of time, and was quite surprised to find out there was another soul upon her body.. Her other sister, Amber. However, Amber could not be extracted like Kenna had been, due to the fact she would have been killed and sent to hell. She was the key to the world's judgment, and Hell would do anything to get its hands on her.

In order for her to be freed, Cinder had to take upon an angel's request. She had to die in order to let Amber live, but in return, she would reborn, the angel promised.

By this point, Cinder was already leader of the Demon's of Northok and was engaged to Drakus Flavaar.

One day, Kenna and Cinder got into the ultimate battle and Cinder made a mistake, letting her sister's taunting get the better of her judgment and was killed off by Kenna, Kenna also being killed off by Bowpurity. Cinder was taken by the Angel, Kenna taken to hell, and through the old body Amber was born from Cinder's body.

Upon returning, Cinder had gotten a few changes by the angels, including wings as she was given angelic powers, making her into an Arch Angel/arch demon. But to her much distress, found that her sister Kenna had also been 'upgraded' into the reaper.

Though many battles between Kenna and Cinder had taken place, they finally came to terms when the Fallen himself began to attack them both in order to try to destroy them both, making a war between angels and demons.

Then Cinder became an General of the angelic forces, her sister Kenna had been helping with the angels as well. She spends her days constantly battling herself and her sister as always, waiting for the day her and Drakus will begin their family..

She was captured by the enemy forces, and seeing that they had no more use for her, the Angelic forces stripped Cinder of her powers and tossed her back into the Multiverse. She has since discovered her two short years away were many years back home and her son is dead, her husband's left and remarried, and both her sisters are dead and gone as well. Between the stress of the war she was in and the fact she has no one left, she has turned to drinking as her solution more often than not. She is mortal with only a few years left to live.

The woman took another swig of the rum, letting the liquid burn her throat as it went down to feed the fire within her. Her eyes flashed as they erupted in color, like a flame within her eyes. "Let me worry about how I'm going to get in. I have my ways, m'friend. I may not look it now, but I use to be very good in the field. Sneaking in past a couple of hum-- People won't be more difficult than what I had to sneak past before." She chuckled, quickly correcting herself mid-sentence.

She then nodded as he accepted her offer. "Good. Then we'll start tomorrow as we journey. We cannot stay in one spot. I'll train you in more than just how to control your magic, as you will also need to learn other tactics in how to lose people while on the chase. Especially from mages." She murmured quietly. "I am not as good as I once was." She admitted. "But protecting you is my main priority, and if I am no longer around.. I must teach you how to protect yourself afterward."

"Until then though, I suggest we enjoy ourselves and get to know each other a little better. Nothing can or will be done until morning and I suggest we rest here for the night. Before the sun is up, we will be moving again towards the kingdom you mentioned a while ago. If I can get you that far, then we will find people who can help."

Cinder raised a curt eyebrow. Distinct sensation? She had to admit, that was a first for her. Or she never had to worry about it before. Her own concerns were frigid within her, however, she never once expressed them. She let the conversation drop at that. Maybe one day he would explain.

She nodded gently as she listened to him about what they would need in order to battle against the mages. She had expected as much. "I might have someone who will be willing to help me with that situation." She stated simply, but never once gave a name. Of course Drakus would help. Why wouldn't he?

She took note of his concern that was evident on the man's face, her eyes never once shifting from her bored expression. "You doubt me." She stated simply. "Which is understandable. A complete stranger that had no purpose and was laying mourning for her loses on a beach front suddenly offers to help you. I would be a skeptic myself." She admitted. "But I am a creature bound to honour. And I will keep to my word, even if it kills me." She stated simply.

A smile etched itself upon her lips gently as she grabbed the bottle full of ale. It splashed some, although she did not seem to care. "And may fate be on your side, my friend." She said, lifting her own bottle to his, gently tapping the two glasses together before drinking from her own.

"He is reliable, though he is a down right bastard. He owes me since he took something precious from me a little while ago.. But he can help us." She murmured quietly. She cleared her throat as if something had been caught in it, finally turning her gaze from the man. It looked like mentioning Drakus struck a very raw cord.

She continued though, without the slightest change of emotion. "Did you know some battles are won with only one man?" She asked softly. "You don't need an army to defeat an army. Just one very smart individual with the capabilities of a warrior and who can think on their feet." She murmured quietly. She slowly pulled out a knife, a blade that curved around her fist. "It may seem hopeless, but as soon as you believe it impossible, you're as good as dead." She warned.

His next question, she seemed hesitant to answer. It really depended on how long this venture took them. If it took years? She'd probably find some nice quiet place to spend out the rest of her remaining time alone, simply to allow herself to disappear. But if it only took a few months..?

She took a swallow from the bottle, her eyes growing dark. "Dunno." She said simply.

She chuckled at his lack of faith. She had already mapped out several plans with the little information he had given her already. They would become more refined and more clear which plans would work closer towards the end. But she was a chess player by all accounts. She only hoped that her opposition was not. If if he was, he was not always one step in front of her.

But she made no mention of the up and coming hardships for the pair, not for the rest of this evening at least. Her eyes were focused on the flames in the hearth, which reflected like a mirror in her eyes.

She gave him a weary smile at his request though, to see her again after all this was over. "We'll have to see what fate brings us, m'friend. But if I am still around after this, then I'll make sure to let you know."

"But the night grows old, and it is obvious you've not rested for a while. Let's find a place for you to rest and for me to sit. I will keep watch for this evening and make sure you are safe." She murmured quietly, slowly standing. "Unless you think it would be safe for you to sleep in the loft." She pointed up.

Cinder had left the man behind in Taylor's bar for now, giving him something to summon her should he need. Of course she had also placed her own protections to alert her if something went wrong with him. Couldn't have done as well in the war without finding tricks that did not require magic or powers.

So she sat beside the beach, silent for now, with nothing but a bottle of rum to keep her company. Her amber hues gazed out to the lake, lost in thought. It wasn't until she noticed a shadow of a man creeping about before she broke out of her trance like state.

Slowly she snuck up on the man, planning on possibly pouncing him. Was he one of the soldiers that was chasing her companion? She wasn't sure.

Cinder blinked as Drakus started to speak and was going to sneak away when..

Ezrael?

She folded her arms across her chest softly and looked to the sands. "Hi."

"I've been here.." She muttered, raising the rum in her arms.

Her eyes turned sharp to the both of them. "And I'm going to return to my friend here if I have no reason to be here.." She muttered, turning about to drink herself silly.

Cinder turned around. "Resting place..?" She said, narrowing her eyes at Drakus. "You mean you let him drown?" She growled.

Her eyes then turned to Ezrael. "I didn't deserve my son.. He deserved someone much better than I could have given him.." She murmured quietly, turning away once again. She did not move from her spot though, downing a huge mouthful of the rum in the bottle.

"..." Cinder turned around to glare at Drakus silently for a moment, then her amber hues slowly shifted over to Ezrael. "I have bigger problems if you two don't mind.. My son is dead. You've moved on, Drakus. And now you two are bickering like old women."

She flinched at the sound of the two arguing. "Enough!" She screamed. She watched Ezrael pull out his wings, somewhat envious. She missed flying, for what it was worth.

"I knew nothing of my own son.. Am I any better off.." She muttered, more to herself than anyone else.

Cinder smirked. "Not really a friend.. Someone who needed my help.." She muttered softly. "And no. They can't stop me from getting into trouble when I'm drunk.. Because if they did, they'd catch too much attention to themselves.."

She sighed. "And I need your help.."

She looked away from him. "You're going to call me crazy." She muttered. "This guy.. He's been framed by his kingdom.. So I offered to help.. Clean his name.." She muttered, rubbing the back of her head.

"They have mages.. Mages I can't go against.. So I was wondering if you had any gizmo or something that nulled out powers.."

Even if he had kept the twitch hidden, she was still going to ask it. "What is it, Drakus?" She muttered, as if she had read his instincts. Fact is, she had been reluctant to let Drakus know about her companion at all, almost as if she were guilty.

"I will need something like that in order to get past all the mages.. You'd be more than welcome to come along with us, but you have your family I know.." She muttered softly, her shoulders sinking. "I will keep in touch, of course.. But I don't know how long I will be gone.. We will begin our travels to the next city by foot tomorrow morning before dawn.." She murmured.

She turned back to him quietly, her jaw tight. She felt the lump in her throat when he asked about her going away. "What am I suppose to do, Drakus..?" She murmured. "My clocks ticking away. Literally. And I don't know how to stop it. So what am I suppose to do with the rest of my life..? Sit here and mope on what could have been if I had stayed here with you and Ezrael..?" She whispered softly. "I love you. I always have, and I always will. But you are no longer mine, although I will forever be yours." She murmured quietly.

She looked away. "So I think it best, for all of us.. If I were to go on this little adventure. Well. Suicide mission really." She laughed nervously.

"No use?" She frowned.

She too, turned away, her back facing Drakus. It was never a good thing to do around the bastard, but this time, she made an exception. "I will keep in touch.. I will let you know how things are going.. If I need supplies.. What not.." She murmured quietly, tears welling up in her eyes.

"I don't know if I'll ever be back.. I depends on how long this takes and whether or not I'll be killed in the field.. But I will make sure if something.. If something happens, you will know if you like.."

"You should have.. Maybe it would have made it easier.." She murmured quietly.

She turned around and saw him walking away. Tears fell down her cheeks and into the sand at that sight. "Drakus..!" Although, she had no words to say. She couldn't bring herself to let go. Not yet.

"Please consider.. Catching up to us.. I don't know if I can do this on my own.."

She gritted her teeth and began running after him. She even dropped the bottle of rum, tripping over beach sand. Tears fell freely down her cheeks as she slowly tried to catch up, to hug him from behind if he did not turn around, or to hug him from the front if he did.

She didn't say a word. She too, trembled, both out of fear and pain. She had buried her face into his shoulders gently, unable to say a word nor think as to what to say. As he turned around to hug her back, her fingers dug into his clothes, twisting as if to make sure not to let him go. Not this time.

But she knew she had to.

"I'm sorry.." She finally choked. "I am.. so very sorry.."

She shook her head softly. "When weren't we.." She murmured quietly, her voice choking up. "I missed this.. I missed you.. and I.." She shook her head softly, turning away from him once more. Her cloak rose as she spread one ruined wing and looked at it mournfully. She wished she could still fly. It would have been easier.

Hell, it would have been easier if Drakus had just stabbed her and been done with it. Her chest was in knots. "I'm sorry.. I should have never returned.." She murmured quietly and began to walk down the beach towards Taylor's bar.
