a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Knosis

Description

Name: Cinder
Age:376
Race: Demon
Power: Flame control

History:
Cinder showed up into the multiverse as there was a mission for her to undertake from the organization. Her mission was to take out or recruit the man named Tallon, in which many battles ensued. Even though it was unintentional, she began to make friends within the city and began to open up to them showing them the side of her that wished anything to be free of the clutches of the organization. With some help, she was finally able to do so.

However, the story of Cinder has only just begun. As soon as she escaped the clutches of the organization, she began to discover more of who she was, and why she was created. Losing herself into the madness of understanding she was part of a bigger plot than she realize, there were times she would black out and end up in a different location altogether. Pain and misfortune tended to follow her after these black outs. At the same time, she met Drakuus Flavaar, who at the time was suffering between a relationship of his own. It didn't take long to figure out this much more aggressive nature was definitely not that of the usually calm Cinder.

She discovered that her blackouts were caused by a second soul within her that had awakened, that she named Kenna. They were created together by the Fallen in order to bring about the end of the world.

As long as Kenna was locked away in her prison, everything would be fine.. Right? Wrong. With their creator hot on their trails, the Fallen one knew exactly who was suppose to still be loyal to him and freed Kenna from the prison, allowing her to start to grow her powers, her lust for destruction strong. Cinder, on the other hand, continued to have problems with possession after her birthday. Cinder had always thought it would be just a battle between her sister Kenna and herself for the rest of time, and was quite surprised to find out there was another soul upon her body.. Her other sister, Amber. However, Amber could not be extracted like Kenna had been, due to the fact she would have been killed and sent to hell. She was the key to the world's judgment, and Hell would do anything to get its hands on her.

In order for her to be freed, Cinder had to take upon an angel's request. She had to die in order to let Amber live, but in return, she would reborn, the angel promised.

By this point, Cinder was already leader of the Demon's of Northok and was engaged to Drakus Flavaar.

One day, Kenna and Cinder got into the ultimate battle and Cinder made a mistake, letting her sister's taunting get the better of her judgment and was killed off by Kenna, Kenna also being killed off by Bowpurity. Cinder was taken by the Angel, Kenna taken to hell, and through the old body Amber was born from Cinder's body.

Upon returning, Cinder had gotten a few changes by the angels, including wings as she was given angelic powers, making her into an Arch Angel/arch demon. But to her much distress, found that her sister Kenna had also been 'upgraded' into the reaper.

Though many battles between Kenna and Cinder had taken place, they finally came to terms when the Fallen himself began to attack them both in order to try to destroy them both, making a war between angels and demons.

Then Cinder became an General of the angelic forces, her sister Kenna had been helping with the angels as well. She spends her days constantly battling herself and her sister as always, waiting for the day her and Drakus will begin their family..

She was captured by the enemy forces, and seeing that they had no more use for her, the Angelic forces stripped Cinder of her powers and tossed her back into the Multiverse. She has since discovered her two short years away were many years back home and her son is dead, her husband's left and remarried, and both her sisters are dead and gone as well. Between the stress of the war she was in and the fact she has no one left, she has turned to drinking as her solution more often than not. She is mortal with only a few years left to live.

She turned back around, the moonlight reflecting behind her, casting her into shadow. All except her amber eyes. But she smiled and tilted her head, letting the tears continue to flow. "Goodbye, Drakus.." She said just loud enough for him to hear. She sounded as if it was a confident goodbye, as she was sure she'd never return.

"I know. And that's what kept me going, even in the darkest times.. But it's time you forgot about me.. It's time to let go.." She said. "It is time we both let go.. So.. Good bye. And may you live a happy life." She turned around once again, gently reaching both her arms up and letting one lay behind her head, the other wave to Drakus as she walked.

Don't stop. Just keep going. This is.. Goodbye...

The broken angel would continue down the beach in silence.

She gently flapped her one broken wing until it lined back up with her spine and disappeared. She took a few more gulps of air to try to release the tension in her chest. It didn't work. Well, she was on her own to do this one thing for her companion. Better make the most of it.

Some how, she had to get in contact with Alrion. She had no clue where the man was. But she'd find him, somehow.

Soon, she would be out of sight of Drakus, if the man did nothing else.

She chuckled at his lack of faith. She had already mapped out several plans with the little information he had given her already. They would become more refined and more clear which plans would work closer towards the end. But she was a chess player by all accounts. She only hoped that her opposition was not. If if he was, he was not always one step in front of her.

But she made no mention of the up and coming hardships for the pair, not for the rest of this evening at least. Her eyes were focused on the flames in the hearth, which reflected like a mirror in her eyes.

She gave him a weary smile at his request though, to see her again after all this was over. "We'll have to see what fate brings us, m'friend. But if I am still around after this, then I'll make sure to let you know."

"But the night grows old, and it is obvious you've not rested for a while. Let's find a place for you to rest and for me to sit. I will keep watch for this evening and make sure you are safe." She murmured quietly, slowly standing. "Unless you think it would be safe for you to sleep in the loft." She pointed up.

Cinder smirked slightly. There was no guarantee she wouldn't just keel over at the finish line. So instead, she remained silent on the matter.

Unlike her companion, the drink seemed to effect the woman a bit more than it use to. She was still able to walk and talk, but she was loose now and definitely in the mood that could turn deadly in a pinch. "I bet there are a few places." She agreed. "Just want to make sure you are comfortable enough to sleep." She murmured quietly. "So let's go find some place for you to rest.."

She had followed him close behind, although she seemed perfectly well comfortable to just walk around as she normally did. She raised an brow at his tension, and shook her head. "If you're going to look paranoid, you're going to draw more attention to yourself.." She murmured as soon as they were inside the building they decided to spend the night in. "Relax. Act like you belong there." She sighed. She knew herself it was easier said than done.

"I don't sleep anymore. I can rest while awake. Don't worry about me." She stated honestly. "However, you still require at least 6 hours to be at 100%." Her eyes glowed in the darkness, like a reflection of the fire he had started.

"I also think you need to relax. I know what I'm doing. When I cannot continue, I will let you know. But for now, I know this city, this place, like the back of my own hand. So please try not to fret." She rubbed the back of her neck gently.

The woman merely shrugged slightly at his first comment. "And I just think you're over paranoid." She stated softly. She watched as he sat on the couch and noted it's position.

She blinked however, at the question. "All I require is food and drink and some place to sit. Eventually I will gain the rest I need, although it is not as well as sleeping, obviously." She murmured, rubbing the back of her head gently. "There is no trade off. Not anymore."

Her eyes turned more into sparks at the mention of her lack of power. It was truly a touchy subject. One she was not willing to delve into just yet. So she remained silent as he spoke. "I will never truly return to my full potential." She stated at the end. "But this is the best you have."

She watched as he walked to the stairs, bowing slightly as he seemed to be making his exit for the evening. "If you need, I can find something more comfortable for you, although it would just be recommended to suffice for this evening. If you do need anything, I shall remain down here for the evening. I may check upstairs every now and then." She warned.

"Good night, Elisand.

The night slowly shifted by, the moon shining into the windows of the abandoned building as it circled the sky through its nightly ritual. It was a rather quiet evening, for an evening in Wing City. But Cinder sat as quiet as she could, both listening for the slightest detection of someone trying to get in and lost deep within her thought.

Not a minute after an hour and a half past dawn did she beckon him to wake up. She herself looked weary and her eyes were red as if she had either not rested well or she had been recently crying. "It is time to get up." She said, rather gently. Whether or not he woke, she would still leave his room, heading back downstairs.

"Good morning.." She greeted back, stuffing her pouch with things that she had obviously taken out during the night. Several daggers and other strange trinkets were among bandages and cloth. Sometime in the night, she had drawn runes on the walls, although she scrubbed them off now.

As soon as he put his hand on her shoulder, however, she blinked and looked down at the hand as if it were some foreign thing. Was it that obvious?

"No no.. I um.. I had some bad news last night is all.." She murmured quietly. It was mostly true. "I was able to get in contact to the man I was telling you about. Although he will not help us directly, for obvious concerns, he will help when he can. There is something that his brother has.. Or had, depending if he's pawned it off.. That will be quite useful.." She murmured quietly, skipping the subject of her emotions altogether. "Unfortunately for us, it would prove quite difficult to find this man and even less of a chance that he still has the item.." She muttered.

"It is a minor set back. And there are many options in terms of getting what I need." She murmured, patting the man's hand gently with her gloved hands. "And I shall be fine in time."

She finished packing up her things and scrubbing the final rune off the wall. "Alrion is a tricky bastard to find, and his self righteousness gets the better of him at times as well. Trying to trick him out would be difficult, but doable." She murmured. "But I haven't a clue at what he would want at this time, as I've not seen him in years." She turned to him and nodded. "We better head out soon, otherwise something will catch our scent."

"No, burning it would not be wise." She agreed with him. "Especially at the beginning of the day, that just screams someone was getting away here.. No, we shall leave it obvious, and hope that because it would seem obvious that it will be overlooked.. I don't have the strength right now to try to mask it.." She murmured quietly.

Her nose wrinkled at the way he addressed her afterward, obviously not very keen of being called a lady. Ladies never got their hands dirty. Cinder.. Well, let's just say she wasn't a lady. She blinked as the light changed suddenly as she was half dragged out of the house, adjusting to the light outside.

"Yes well.. Let's go.." She murmured, heading for the City's exit.

Cinder moved along the crowds slowly, brushing through crowds as she purposely used them to disguise herself at times. Somewhere along the way, she had pulled up her hood to her cloak, and had a piece of straw she chewed in between her lips, keeping her head lowered to not make complete eye contact, but just enough that it seemed normal, natural. At times it seemed she just melted into the crowd behind him as he pulled her along or vise-versa.

However when they reached the gate and he pulled her hard down to the area where they wouldn't be caught, she mentally sighed.

"The plan is to have no plan until the walls no longer have ears." She muttered, holding the straw between her lips for a moment before pulling it out and holding the amber thing between her fingers. "Or at least ears we can easily sense or track. We're heading to my old stomping grounds first. There is a city I know of out that direction we can at least rest in for a time being."

As if she read his mind, she walked up and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder gently, her eyes like flames burning calmly in the night. "Dilemmas are solved with time and questioning. But how you act is judged in a single moment." She patted his shoulder gently. She had been in his shoes. "It is not my place to judge you. Nor will I.."

She passed him after that, taking point and humming quietly a tune of traveling. She even smiled and nodded to the people as they either came or left with her. Her mask of merriment was the only thing that could muster for the moment. She placed the straw back on her lips and continued to hum her tune, her pack slung over her shoulder much like well rested and well traveled wanderers would do when they had decided to head to the next spot in their stop.

But her mind was still wandering back to the night before, where she had said her final goodbyes. She dogged ahead, only looking back to see if her friend was keeping up.

Once out of the city and out of most ear shot, she slowed down and walked nearly beside him. "So, I can tell you know how to use your flames. How well can you control them when your emotions are not controlled?"

"That isn't my concern.." She admitted. "I'm more so worried that anger fuels you more so than most other things." She held her hand out in front of her and heat waves began to emerge from the palm of her hand. "Every living being has a source of life. Most of them need warmth to survive. Heat is energy. And energy is the basis of everything. Energy is never lost, only transferred into another source. If your anger fuels your abilities, I fear how much energy you would transfer into your abilities in order to accomplish your goal." She lowered her hand when she began to pant slightly.

She fell silent once again and started heading down the path that lead to the Dark Woods, knowing that their journey would be longer heading this direction, but it was the best way for cover.

Her lecture was more on a personal experience. And the memory made her shiver. "How are your sword skills? I think I'll test that when we stop for the evening."

The woman raised an eyebrow as she watched her companion sit down out of the corner of her eye, though she did not comment on this fact. "Can you control heat that isn't directly around you?" She said, picking up a dried leaf from the ground and holding it out in front of her. "Could you start a flame with this leaf and just the leaf alone?" She sighed. "I guess what I'm trying to ask, can you direct your energy to something not within arms reach? If you are able to focus on that, then I can skip a lot of the basics.."

She shifted her weight to her right leg and looked down the path once again, making sure they were not being followed. She had a sneaking suspicion that they were, but she hadn't seen any evidence of it yet. "And though you say your sword skills are above par, showing it is another matter altogether. Come on, we got some ways to go before we stop for the night." She murmured.

The woman nodded gently, looking over to a flower that was drooping as the end of it's life was coming close. Her eyes flashed slightly, and only one of it's many petals burst into a short flame, leaving the others untouched.

"It depends on how you see it." She explained. "Energy is everywhere. Which means the source of energy is everywhere. If you can control energy around you, you don't have to move energy to get to energy. Just focus on the energy surrounding the object." She said.

They continued on for a while longer. Soon Cinder would stop at an decaying old stone wall that was obvious part of some building back in an age long gone. "We'll stop here for the night.." She murmured quietly, patting the stone gently.

The woman nearly froze when he asked how she was able to manipulate her energy the way she did. She didn't answer him right away, and when she did, she nearly brushed off her answer. "I'm just human." She murmured. "Nothing more, nothing less.." She added. Although there was a hint of sadness in her tone that suggested that there was more to the story.

"I have trained for most of my life in the ways that I have.. And I do believe most people have the ability to learn to control magic the way I do.. It's simply the way you see things around you.. You don't have to exert your own energy in order to control something far away.. Not a lot anyway. I guess it is more appropriate to call it an influence rather than a control.." She explain, groaning as she sat down with her back against the stone wall. "Lacking in understanding is just as bad as lacking ability.."

She remained silent for a long while, her eyes distant as she listened to the area around them. "So what do we call it if we know what the future has in store for us? Is it then, a future?" She asked softly. "The past is known. The present situation is known.. Future outcomes are suppose to be unknown, but what happens if there is no way out of the path you have chosen..?" She asked, more to the air than to the man with her.

She shook her head. "Never mind. Forget my ramblings." She then stood up and picked up a rather long branch, one that looked more like a staff. She focused her energy for a moment, polishing the surface of it and temperature treating it so that it would last a while. She then tested it by smacking it against the wooden stones hard, and it clattered with a loud sound. "Draw your blade." She said.
