-The Book of Indoctrinations

The Demon has many forms. You must know them all. You must tell the Demon from his disguise and root him out from the hidden places. Trust no-one. trust not even yourself. It is better to die in vain than to live an abomination.
The zealous martyr is praised for his valour: the craven and the unready are justly abhorred.
-The Book of Indoctrinations

You get more with a kind word and an excruciator than with just a kind word.
-Danika Thorne

Equipment

Equipment:
Night Hawk pattern crusade armor
A lightweight armor incorporating typical crusader pattern armor systems that favor speed, agility and integrated stealth technology over the bulkier, heavier crusade pattern armors.

Synskin
is a bio-reactive bodyglove with an inert non-reflective surface that moulds itself to the wearer's form. It greatly increases stealth ability and renders the wearer invisible to the effects of infared detection and unnatural sight.
(includes preternatural sight used by supernatural creatures.)

Photo-Contacts

Advanced lenses designed to enhance the low-level light available on even the darkest nights. Users can see in the dark almost as well as in daylight with them.

Cameleoline Cloak
Cameleoline material is made up of mimic fibers that blend the coloration of the wearer into their surroundings.

Filtration plugs
These are simple implants in the nasal cavity that screen out most pollutants and harmful gasses.

Inferno pistol
The technology behind the inferno pistol is hard to reproduce, Making these weapons exceptionally rare and expensive.
Possessing an inferno pistol pistol is a sign of status, and usually only powerful and influential individuals have the honor of owning one of these valuable relics.
They are coveted by soldiers for their massive close-range destructive power. There are few things as good at cutting through armor than an inferno pistol, Capable of breaching bulkheads.

Power Scourge
The power scourge are groups of tendril-like lashes, attached to a short staff or handle.
The scourge can be used as a mundane whip, or when activated can be charged with an energy field that deals massive damage to armor and flesh.

Shock Bolas

Bolas are normally non-lethal and as such can be seen and employed by bounty hunters or law enforcement officials , where the swirling balls (some styles use up to eight of these dense objects) can entangle a target with heavy cord or wire.

An assortment of advanced weapons taking on the form of baroque weaponry. IE: flintlock pistols, crossbows, and bladed weapons.

Hallucinogen Grenades

These kinds of grenades have a variety of short-lived psychological states and delusions.

Photon Flash Grenades
Flash grenades detonate like a small star, blinding anyone nearby and bright enough to overload typical vision protection systems.

Excruciator Kit

These devices are used in the questioning of captured enemies of the crusade.
Or in revealing those who would try to keep their alignment with dark forces a secret.
Each is a dazzling array of blades, needles, chemicals, drugs, thermal prongs, neural links and any other devices any interrogator would need need in his / her duties.

So begins...

Danika Thorne 's choler was rising due to the constant teasing of the white haired man.
Another reticle popped up as another psionic ability came into proximity with her.
With a mental impulse she stimulated the systems built into her armor, projecting a field of nullifying energy around her. The strand of hair fell down, once again landing in front of her face.
She brushed the strand aside, taking another drink of her scotch.

As the shadowy figure of a man regarded the symbols that adorned her armor she, in kind replied without facing or regarding the man.
"They are not symbols of the reborn christ. They are the symbols of the holy crusade." she replied before raising the glass to her lips.

"Only those that lose that lose sight of their duty." She said flatly before taking the final sip of her scotch.
She didn't take notice of the mug that slid by.
Danika set the glass down on the counter with an audible thud that made her irritation obvious as it hit the counter, causing the ice to rattle around in the glass.

Danika Thorne Sighed, keying in another order for a drink.
"I'm having a hell of a night. That kid over there keeps antagonizing me. Don't know what he wants and I don't care."
It was then that a pebble smacked against her hand, bouncing to the counter top before finally rolling off the counter.
She shook her head before spinning around in her chair.
"So we've had prodding, hair pulling and throwing rocks. You wanna cut the schoolyard bullshit, kid?"
She yelled across the bar, making sure there was no confusion as to who she was talking to.
Danika quickly spun back around in her chair, waiting for the next drink to arrive.

"My name is Danika." She stated, meeting his gaze momentarily to offer him a curt nod.
"My profession is not important."

She turned to look at Ikiros with a pointed, unamused look.
"Well I'm glad to be such a convenient source of entertainment for you." Her statement thick with sarcasm.
"And there IS need to get angry when you are harassed by someone tossing stuff at you. You really have no idea how to treat a woman, do you kid?"
This was quickly turning into a situation she was not happy with. It wasn't often that someone so intently agitated her much less approach her so nonchalantly after doing so.
She snatched the glass of scotch as it had arrived via the automated servers.
"Shoulda stayed on the Ark...."
Danika said to herself before taking a sip of the amber liquid.

"Age around here doesn't mean anything. I've seen self professed lords of whatever run amok around here like a bored child. You have been acting like a kid, which is why I'm calling you kid, kid."
She pursed her lips together as she looked up at the ceiling. Finally realizing why he had been so intrigued, enough to pester her, apparently.
"I am a null." she said flatly as if he should know what a null was.
"My mind, and soul, if I have one, don't give off any resonance in the physical or spiritual world."

Danika Thorne strode into the bar in a much better mood than the other night.
The *click clack* of her bladed heels resonated throughout the bar as she made her way to a seat at the counter.
She pulled her hood back as she sat down at a stool, feeling a lot more comfortable tonight.
Danika noticed a few familiar faces, none really that stood out or interested her, however.
Her gloved hand navigated through the order menu, her chin propped up in her palm as she keyed in her drink order.

As she awaited her drink to arrive, Danika swiveled in her stool to take a look around.
Still the same droning of some of the usual patrons, the same innuendos and slyly worded insults.
For one as misanthropic and reclusive as Danika it always amazed her why she came back to this place.
"At least they have good drinks." completing her thought out loud.
And then she caught the man's stare and recognized him as the one who had slipped him his card.
She rose a brow at him before turning back to the bar to grab her newly delivered drink.

Danika Thorne Turned to take a look at the group sitting down at the bar nearby but offered no greeting, simply a nod. One of them was the man she'd noticed earlier: Xvander.
another glance was cast at the other two whom she recognized as well but had no real dealings with other than being slightly entertained by the young-looking man as he shadowed his troubled daughter around the bar.
She caught the comment made by the woman that accompanied Xvander, catching her attention for a moment.
Danika decided to listen in on the conversation, might as well. They were sitting only a few spaces away from her.
as she listened in she continued to drink her scotch.

"You know." Danika said suddenly after listening to the two exchange back and forth. She turned her head to face the group as she spoke up.
"That's a bit awkward. You know, the glances and the comments. Especially when I'm sitting right in front of you."
After taking another sip of her drink she placed the glass down with an audible *thunk* the ice cubes rattling around in the glass.
"Not looking for a party, guys."

Danika Thorne 's finger hovered over the order menu as she was somewhat taken aback by the sudden job proposal.
She cracked a grin, and raised her brow in amusement.
"A job, huh?" she asked, tapping the screen again to complete her order.
This was somewhat entertaining, seeing the man eagerly showing her his paperwork. She decided to entertain the idea, for the moment, at least.
"I'm listening.."

A smirk cracked across half her face as she took the pad and wrote down her many skills. Ranging from close combat and ranged weapons proficiency to Stealth, espionage, interrogation and terror tactics.
The list was long and would definitely be a resume that would prove enticing to the businessman.
however, at the bottom of the list she wrote: "You can't afford me."

She passed the pad back over for him to review. She bit her lower lip as she smirked at the man until she grabbed her new glass of scotch.
Danika took a sip as he read.

Danika Thorne took another drink of her scotch, locking a predatory gaze at the man who sat across from her.
She set down the drink, hearing out his proposal about the monks and their ventures to increase their powers.
"I see. And how does this affect your employer and why do these men deserve to die?"
She smirked once again, her features exuding confidence and amusement as she spoke.
"Hon, I could tell you what I could do to them. Hell I could have them dead in a day's time. But I don't kill men for sport or money. I do it out of necessity. Unless I find a reason why they should die, then I see no reason to put them to the blade."
Her expressions told Xvander that she wasn't necessarily declining the idea of a job, if not maybe for a little fun. But her tastes were... More refined than some average mercenary.

"I can take a look into the situation in my free time, I suppose... However, if I perform this 'job'" She said, making sure to accentuate the last word. "It will be on my own terms, and i swear no employment or allegiance to you."
She took a drink from her glass, downing a good portion of the amber liquid.
"And as such, I will collect no payment, either. My needs on this world are not so vain, I have all the equipment and facilities at my disposal. It would just be a matter of what you may be able to do for me in exchange."
She played with the glass, tracing the rim with her finger as she continued to speak.
"And what, may I ask is your organization's quarrel with these monks? Why is it so important to you that they die?"

Danika Thorne Sat there, looking over the man that sat in front of her. She took in every small detail of the man, right down to his seemingly meticulous mannerisms and clean, all business demeanor.
"I just need a day to observe them and I'll let you know when and if I decide to take them down."
She grabbed her glass and held it at an angle, holding it just under her lips.
"If I execute the plan it will be of the highest quality and will be utterly discreet. However, I will require the services of someone well versed in advanced technologies. Specifically Aschen technology, if possible.
If you can follow through, It might encourage me to expedite the process."
She sipped on her drink, eager to hear his response to her terms.

"Very well versed. Mainly anyone who understands the in-depth details of Aschen weaponry, defensive systems and yes, hacking would be convenient."
She slid the newly empty glass away, pushing it to the edge of the bar.
"If you can provide me with someone that can give me access to information that I find to be valuable then we can talk about perhaps carrying out another mission in repayment. But don't hold out on me."

The door to the bar swung open, seemingly of its own accord, closing shortly afterwards. As Danika made her way through the bar, several red targeting reticles flared up on her HUD.
Several of the demonic patrons were bordered in red with several biometrics and energy scans running hurriedly as if she had entered a battleground. Though annoyed, Danika allowed the scans to finish as she finally came to a stop at the counter.
Her cloaking field flowed off of her body like water, slowly revealing the woman that entered when the door had opened just a moment ago. She began keying in her drink order, keeping a wary eye on the reticles that still invaded her vision.
Scotch on the rocks, as always. As she completed her order, she adjusted her cloak before taking a seat on one of the stools that lined the counter.

Danika Thorne Stared narrow eyed at the demon who delivered her drink, her ruby lips curled in an expression of disgust.
"Have an artificial deliver the next one.." She held back a more direct insult to the creature. She had accepted the idea that those things might be allowed here, but she'd be damned if she accepted anything from one.
She watched as the red reticle surrounding the demon bartender departed, walking away before she pushed the drink away, abandoning it with a look of disgust that would suggest she were served a glass of excrement rather than a scotch.
She keyed in another order and awaited the auto-tender to deliver her drink, shooting a glare back in the demon's direction.

Danika Thorne Maintained her expression of disgust at the creature as it spoke to her. The robot servers were never 'on the fritz', she was sure this was just some spiteful response from the demon.
Her face twisted into a mocking smile as she stretched a hand out to the drink. However, rather than grabbing it, she pushed it off of the counter, allowing it to hit the ground and shatter, sending glass to litter the floor behind the counter.
"I'll be just fine without it, thanks." her emphasis on the thanks came nearly came out as a hiss. Her contempt for the creature was quite apparent at this point. She in kind cast a similar look maelik's way, noticing yet another red reticle bordering the creature, though no warning reticle was needed to see what he was.
She then noticed Cashmere and stopped mid-hatred as her HUD displayed a person of interest to the crusade. She lifted herself from her seat and slowly made her way to the woman, bladed heels clicking against the bar floor.
"How fortuitous," she said, making herself known to Cashmere. "You're a hard woman to find."

She opened her mouth to respond, but swiftly turned her head to notice the Aschen woman who had just entered the bar. "Hmmm..." here she was with so much opportunity just walking through the front door of the bar, why hadn't she just come here in the first place? Oh yeah.... A glance cast over at the demonic patrons quickly reminded her of why. Her senses allowed her to see the palpable aura around the beings, clouds of dark essence that emanated from them.
"Oh, just to talk, and perhaps to purchase some things from you. I hear from some of my colleagues that you are quite the techsmith. And I'm in need of someone of your talent to expedite some projects of mine."

"Commander Diomodes, and the louder one, Lukas Orion. They both said you are quite talented. And from what I've seen from the repairs you did for them it shows." She then cast a glance in the Aschen woman's direction and put and hand on the shock bolas at her hip, debating whether or not to attempt capturing this woman or leaving her be.
Danika's attention then shifted back to Cashmere, smiling. "Although, the nature of my business might be better discussed in a more secure location." She gave a subtle gesture in Marlene's direction as she spoke.
"I can guarantee you a generous payment, in currency or goods for your assistance."
She kept an eye on Marlene, itching to get a hand on her. But perhaps the overall outcome of not spooking Cashmere would outweigh snagging this woman now. Regardless, she snapped picts of her target and relayed them to an awaiting squad of cloaked men that surrounded the bar. They would follow her for now.
