Borrowed Jeb's rifle, sat up on the hill.
I see a lone rider, crossin' the planes.
Drew a bead on him to practice my aim.

Dominic is a 16 year old Vampire in appearance, but in truth is over 350 years old (he stopped counting at 300). He is the sole kin of an unknown Irish lord who died by a civil war at Dominic's creation. Dominic has spent most of his unlife wandering the world, learning all he could and manipulating all that he must.

He has a reserved, stealth-approach when it comes to vampirism, and is a big advocate of the "Brain over slaughter" method of feeding. He maintains that any exposure of their way of life is bad exposure, bringing unwelcome attention onto him and whoever he is allied with at the time. He also has an almost chronic-backstabbing disorder about him, constantly seeking for weaknesses in the human nature to exploit and turn against them. This leads to him being an all around untrustworthy and shady character.

So begins...

He smiled at the lady, giving a slight bow to the lady as she emerged. How was she able to move so swiftly...?

"News of Ireland, my dear. The Irish vampires are slowly descending into yet another civil war. At this rate, they will be obliterated by their own crushing weight. A wonderful occurance for us, here." He smiled at her as he glided towards her, ignoring the pain in his knee. "Do you have anything to drink, My lady? I'm a bit famished."

Dominic Mulligan grinned at her pleasure. "I figure we can sweep up the survivors, whenever they get through murdering each other in their beds. That is the thing about the Irish, my dear. We much prefer secrecy to straight up combat. For better or worse."

He let that sentence hang as he listened to her question. "Indeed! I rather think I would enjoy some middle-eastern blood, my dear. Nothing quite like a little spice, if you know what I mean. Point the way!" He was happy, relaxed, loose. There was nothing he could worry about here, yet. Not until things started going south.

With measured footsteps, Dominic crept through the crowd, preferring a stealthy approach. A stealthy approach, as opposed to the complete ludicrous activities of his brethren, feeding, slicing... madness in the screaming of the innocent blood being run red into the gutters of Main street. Smells, sounds that increased the tempo and hunger pulsing through his veings.

Disgusting.

He kicked a corpse aside in frustration, allowing his temper to overcome him briefly. The young body he was caged in protested with the impact, but he welcomed the pain. They were like animals, he decided, giving in to their base instincts without a single thought as to the impact of their actions. The people of the world did not need further proof of Vampires in their midst.

His eyes scanned the crowd for perpetrators, but found none immediately. He quickly scaled a building, utilizing his strength and speed to scrabble up the brick. It was there he perched, his eyes sharp, staring hard out onto the crowd.

Daemala would hear of this, he decided. If she wasn't here already.

He saw A tall, long haired fellow bouncing between corpses with a blur of manic energy and engaging eagerness, swiftly dispatching his enemies.

He saw Casren, a man he had heard so much about, in the midst of the chaos.

He saw a dead rotting bear-like creature rushing to join the fray.

He saw all of this, and the hunger intensified, alongside it coming the sense of disgust. He needed to get down there, needed to draw them off, quickly and effectively. He studied the bear-creature for a moment, his mind working, festering, trying to come up with something.

He could use something like that. He could definitely use something like that.

He leapt from the roof, landing near the spot where Harlequin disappeared. With lightning speed, he leapt from the roof, rolling to his feet on the hard pavement, slipping slightly because of the torrential pour of the blood. Within three strides, he was within the circle of the bear. Holding his hands up towards it, he let out a roar.

"Can you understand me, Brother?" He cried at it, waving his skinny, bony arms. "Can you heed my words?"

Dominic kept his hands in the air, moving slowly towards the creature as it backed away. "Fascinating," he muttered to himself, his palms spread and his fingertips splayed. "Fascinating creature."

"I mean you no harm, brother!" He yelled towards the creature, ignoring Daemala's hand on his shoulder for now. He had a bone to pick with her... with them all. But he could ignore them for now.

And then, the dragon/bear/elephant/fascinating creature shrank to a more human nature in size and stature, just as disfigured, just as beaten, just as deadly.

Just as beautiful.

"I mean you no harm." His voice dropped a couple of octaves, entranced. "Can you speak?"

"Speak."

With one word, Dominic knew that he had succeeded in at least letting the creature - the woman, let's not forget our manners - know of his existence. He heard the mumblings from the other vampires in the street, though he couldn't make out their words. He ignored them for now, would deal with them later.

"We are members of the Vankyroth Dentente." He said, gesturing to the other Vampires in the streets. "We are... other undead." He smiled wide, showing off his fangs, the shining, bloodless white of them, the way they sparkled in the distant cloud-stricken sky. "I was hoping that we would be able to form an Alliance - a partnership, with you." He pointed with one hand towards the woman, the other hand a flat palm on his own chest.

She did have a grace about her, he mused, as his eyes wandered down her form. Beauty in destruction. Maybe he really was maturing.

Dominic was stunned into silence by the woman's voice, by the fact that she strung together perfectly sentences - eloquent and articulate ones, at that. The voice was a rhasping, scraping sound - it sent delightful little shivers through his shoulders - and even showed off very human qualities.

He gave himself a visible shake to snap himself out of the funk he was feeling. Why was he so unnerved? At Casren's word, he nodded. "Yes, that's an excellent word for it. You're unique. As for how you're valuable... My dear," he flashed his smile again, his confidence returning, "The real question would be, how you're not. I have just witnessed the terrifying and awe-inspiring form you just took, reigning destruction upon human kind! I have seen first hand the power you possess, fair maiden."

He bowed sharply, sweeping his arm before him. "But alas, I have been rude. Might I ask your name, if I give onto you my own? I am called Dominic Mulligan, of Ireland."

"Mortuus." He repeated, his mouth curling pleasantly around the word. Mortuus. A devastating name, a fearful, destructive, beautiful name. He liked it. It suited her. He added the remainder of the words just to get a further feel of them. "Of forgotten Pangaea. It is truly, definitely, an honor to meet your acquaintance."

He smiled at her questions, nodding with acknowledgement. "To put it bluntly, my lady, I would have you fight at our side when we request of you, Mortuus, and in exchange we can assist you in any way you may need of us. We are timeless beings, us. We must stick together if we are to continue surviving in the way we would do. We are a dead breed, slowly getting fewer in number, more hated in stature. In a few short centuries, we will be extinct."

He took a step towards her, and another, keeping his movements slow and his posture unthreatening. "We need to stick together to prevent this fate, Mortuus. We need each other. What do you say?"

Dominic could not contain his feral grin as the woman who he felt the pull towards vanished. So she gave him a bit of a stern talking to. So she called him 'child'. So she was a giant dragon who could probably break every bone in his body without batting an eyelash.

Still, attraction was attraction. He smiled wider.

"On behalf of us all, we thank and welcome you." He bowed again, and suddenly straightened, his countenance darkening as he walked straight over to Daemala and pointed a finger at her chest.

"Not just yet, my lady. I have a few words to be had with you. In private, if you please." He added, with a glance towards the newcomer, wrapped in bandages. "But that discussion can come at another time. For now, I need to satisfy my thirst. Just know, I have grievances with you the next time we speak."

With the last sharp word, he smiled and bowed again at Mortuus before stalking briskly into the night.

Dominic Mulligan arrived into the ruins, wearing a longcoat that made him feel like he was a bit more Badass than he truly believed himself to be. With a quick flick of the coat, he strode into the circle of the ruins. His once normally flashy smile was straight, not a drop of mirth in his expression.

He saw Mariotto sitting, waiting patiently for his own arrival. "Mariotto," He said in greeting, his tone even. "still up for a little competition?"

Dominic Mulligan smiled at the man's belligerent tone. "Hard to mistake so striking a figure, good sir. And indeed, this would be the second time, and yet you know my own name as well. I think it fair to say we're both fairly competent men, and we certainly stick out in a crowd."

He didn't return the bow, just added an incline of his head. "I did not bring a weapon, my good man." He said, slowly. "But I do believe a battle of abilities and wit are just as fair as any other test of skill. As long as you do not plan on ending my un-life this eve, that is."

He grinned wickedly, his fangs showing. In his mind, he replayed the slaughter of main street, the foolish and uncalled for slaughter of humans, part of the group being this very man. Here was an opportunity to unleash his frustration.

He would take it gladly.

Dominic Mulligan arched an eyebrow as he followed his opponent with only his eyes, staying stock still as the older vampire (in both appearance and actual age, he guessed) stalked around him. He listened to the other man's request for a more interesting bout with curiosity. Instantly he began thinking of ways he could use such a gift... even if he lost, it could be used to his advantage. Strategically, he would be a fool to say no to such an offer.

But what was the other man thinking...?

"I accept," he declared, his stomach leaping a little at the thought. What on earth did he just sign up to?

Dominic Mulligan found it impossible to track the movements of the man, but understood what the dark energy meant from his travels. Shadow Stepping. In Ireland, among the Slayer clans, it was called Nightwalking. It had several names, but its effect was much the same.

Deadly.

He took a gamble and leapt into the air, sailing over six feet as the man slid below him. He landed three feet away, one hand on the ground as he swung both legs towards the man, aiming for his chest and face.

Dominic Mulligan twisted his body and fell back hard on his side, not anticipating the maneuver in the slightest but moving to counter-attack it. He allowed his left leg to be ensnared, but with a quick twist, utilizing his vampiric speed, he brought his right up, striking at his opponent's temple area.

He didn't bother with a reply; only the faint grunt of effort escaped his lips.

Dominic Mulligan was flung into the air, but quickly righted himself utilizing his enhanced reflexes. Quickly he located the man, seemingly blurring through the air as his hands turned into some kind of sharp weapon. He didn't spend too much time debating it, as the man's momentum would carry him to Dominic before Dominic could hit the ground.

He would need to take this battle close, something he couldn't do while soaring through the air.

He spun himself around once, in the moment of hangtime before his opponent reached him and used the twirl to deliver a roundhouse kick, hoping to connect with the man and buy himself some time away from those claws.

Dominic Mulligan was breathing heavy, despite not having the ability to breath, as he landed on the ground with a simple bend of his knees. He idly wiped dust away from his pants and lowered himself into a crouch, narrowing his eyes at the man, sizing him up.

He'd need to take this close. His opponent had the reach and strength to take it to him in any arena, but Dominic couldn't run forever. He'd need to strike blows to the head and neck, disable those claws...

He made his decision. Keeping in a low roadie-run, he would suddenly extend and somersault forwards, going for a diving football tackle around Mariotto's midsection.

Dominic Mulligan felt the tackle at his back as his opponent's arms wrapped around his armpits, clamping at his chest, and felt the lights grow dimmer. It was a fatal blow, but he refused to admit defeat. Not here, not now.

His options were few but not completely at a loss. He allowed the tackle to happen, knocking the wind out of his lungs as he was plastered to the ground by the heavier man. Using his flexibility, however, he struck out in a scorpion sting at the top of the man's head, using both booted feet, in an attempt to daze him enough to flip over.

Dominic Mulligan felt the kick as he rolled, quickly leaping to his feet without using his hands. He frowned. The man could've finished him right then and there. Why was he toying with him?

His knee hurt suddenly, and he adjusted his stance so the weight was off of it. The growing pains came back, constantly in motion because of his body's age. He didn't betray the pain; four hundred years of practice made this easy. Still, he would not last long.

He said nothing to the barb again, just took a hop towards Mariotto and threw a punch towards his throat.
