Eliza Ada Reeve's Story

Eliza Ada Reeve ran, bounding through the door of the bar with her arms up in the air with excitement. "Miss Barker! I have done it again!" Ada shouted and expected a response and frowned when she received none. "Hmph... well, she isn't here yet. Must be caught up with work, I suppose..." she said with a dramatic sigh. With her hips swaying to and fro, the dancer's floor length deep purple skirt moved with her as she made her way to the bar. Straightening her matching purple top, Ada gracefully slid onto one of the stools and pouted her lips. "Who will bask in the glory of my success now?" she wondered, mumbling to herself.
Eliza Ada Reeve was soon getting rather bored, leaning into the bar. Her eyes wondered over to her left and she made an 'oh?' sound at the sight of a rather tall raccoon. She stared at him, her coal black eyes widening in wonder like a child. "That is an excellent costume!" she exclaimed and scooted over to his side without a second thought.
Eliza Ada Reeve was unfazed by his curt question and gave him her award-winning smile as she lifted her hand to play with his ear. "You must tell me who made your costume. It is superb! I know the theater director of the academy would love to work with your employer!" Ada failed to notice that Octavian was truly a real raccoon…
Eliza Ada Reeve 's fingers stopped fiddling with Octavian's ears and she tilted her head to the side, her eyes exuding confusion. "Your... fur?" she repeated and brought her hands to her mouth, eyes wide. "I'msosorry!I'msosorry!" she shouted in a sudden burst. Ada should have known better... being a resident of Wing City and all. Some of the residents here were... interesting, to say the least. "Oh, forgive my rudeness, Mr. Raccoon!"
Eliza Ada Reeve giggled, shrugging off her mistake like it was nothing. "So, if not Mr. Raccoon... then what should I call you?" she asked, leaning back into the bar.
Eliza Ada Reeve whistled under her breath when she noticed how tall Octavian was. "My, you're a tall one! So Octavian... you going somewhere?" she asked, never missing a beat.
"Well, you just got up so I was going to assume that you were going to move somewhere else," she said, shrugged and got up with Octavian. "But you are not going to get rid of me that easily!"
Eliza Ada Reeve smiled at Octavian and instead of saying anything, grabbed his vest and pulled him back down on his seat. Ada didn't look it but she could be the forceful type without realizing it. "Just stay here, silly!" she giggled. She was eying his book and took it from his hands without asking. "Oh... you studying about Freud?" she asked as she turned a couple of pages.
"I pulled you back down because we are staying here! Silly Octavian," she said with pursed lips as she pinched his cheek. "Plus, I'm waiting for a friend to come by... that is if she even does. She works herself to death!" Ada placed his book on the counter and leaned back on her stool, looking around the bar. "My goodness... it's quiet here. Regina said that something exciting might happen like people breaking out into fights to the death. I think she was over exaggerating..."
Eliza Ada Reeve looked over at him and saw that Octavian wasn't too happy with her. "Oh... are you ok?" she asked, completely oblivious to his questions. "Someone needs a hug!" It was apparent that Ada didn't understand the concept of 'personal space' as she leaned in and gave the raccoon the biggest hug she could muster. "Oh you are so soft! Like a plush toy," she exclaimed.
"Me? Disturbing?" she asked, with her arms still around him. "Disturbing the grumpiness with my happiness!" Ada then nodded and grinned as she pulled away from Octavian. "Yes! You're like my favorite teddy bear that I have back home!"
Eliza Ada Reeve clapped her hands as if to say 'Yea me!' for her good deed of the day. "Oh I've been so excited that I forgot to tell you my name!" She extended her hand to shake Octavian's and winked at him. "My name is Eliza Ada Reeve but call me Ada. I am one of the best dancers in Wing City. A pleasure to meet you!"
Eliza Ada Reeve 's smile widened as she throw up her hands once more in the air. "Really? Oh I would love to dance for you! But... what kind of dance?" she asked him, moving in her chair since she couldn't sit still for much longer. "I know so many but you've got to say one that you like!"
"A quick one! I mustn't rush an art such as a dance! But for you, Teddy Bear, I shall think of one that is quick yet full of passion!" Gracefully lifting herself off her seat, Ada moved to the side and pushed a table out of her way so that she had some room to showcase (or show off, you decided) her talent. With a dance already in mind, she lifted her body as her feet struck hard on the bar's floor as she danced out the steps of the flamenco for her new friend. She looked much calmer and focused in the dance as she moved to a beat that that was ingrained in her mind. When she finished, she gave a low bow to Octavian and, with a smile, bounded back to his side. "There!"
Eliza Ada Reeve was beaming and touched the tip of his nose with her delicate finger. "Whatever you say... Teddy Bear," she said sweetly before resting against the bar. "Now... what is someone like you doing in a bar like this?" she asked, looking somewhat serious.
Eliza Ada Reeve hummed a bit, leaning her head down on her arms as she gazed up at him with warm black eyes. "Hard life, huh... I can understand that," she said softly which seemed rather uncharacteristic of her. Ada knew a couple of the dancers in the academy that came from families like Octavian's... most chose not to talk about it. "But you still come here despite the madness..." she pointed out.
"Well, study hard and do well in school, Teddy Bear! Because I never did," she admitted but was smiling nonetheless. Suddenly her phone rang and she flipped it open to have her dancing instructor yelling at her but her grin never faded from her lips. She closed her phone up when the one-sided conversation had ended and she looked over at Octavian with a wave. "Looks like I have to go. Maybe I will see you soon, Octavian!" Ada got up from her seat and blew a kiss to the raccoon before sauntering off, out of the bar.
"Reeeeegiiiinnnaaaaaa!" Ada stepped into the bar, looking about and frowned in mock angry. "Why does she tell me that she will be here and lie to me?!" she exclaimed and suddenly halted in place. "Oh wow... there's not a lot of people here." Shrugging her shoulders, Ada bounded off to the bar, dance bag in hand. She eyed Crepa who was eating a bowl of ice cream. Scratch that, the bowl was actually her hand. She tilted her head at the action but smiled all the same. 'Oh, I want ice cream too... but I really shouldn't have any. My dancer instructor might yell at me again,' she thought to herself but when was Ada ever the type to listen? Making her way behind the bar, Ada went off in a search for more ice cream!
Eliza Ada Reeve was back and with an armful of cartons that were of different ice cream flavors, her hands filled with spoons and her head balancing a plethora of bowls for anyone else. “He heh! Those balancing lessons came in handy!” she said as she placed everything down on the bar counter with graceful ease.
