Erin Desmond

American Witch

0 · 370 views · located in The Infinite Void

a character in “The Multiverse”, originally authored by Nowfaleena, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Name: She goes as Violet now. Her true name is Erin Desmond

Age: 23

Species: Human (American...witch...)

Appearance: Image She tends to keep her hair up in a ponytail. And no, her hair isn't naturally purple, it is black

Personality: Her body language portrays one who is cocky and a fighter...but she doesn't speak much...if at all. She doesn't mingle with people, human or otherwise usually, she has a bit of a paranoid look about her. She gets frustrated in large groups because she can't speak, and she finds it hard to write fast enough. She prefers 'talking' one on one because of it.

Backstory: Erin Desmond was a young girl living in America when strange things started to happen...it all happened when she discovered the hidden library underneath the church her parents dragged her too. She had been there many many times, yet it was only when she was fifteen...and snuck in there at night to get away from some people that she had pissed her off. It was when she was hiding in one of the older sections of the church, an essentially unused place. The floor broke underneath her with a loud crack and she fell through.

She had been lucky that she didn't break any bones. But she was surprised to see that what lay underneath the old church was a library filled with forgotten books. It was there that she found The Grimoire of the Planes. The book felt...funny to her. But right.

When she opened the book she found that it was written in a language she had never seen...yet she somehow could read. A voice echoed in her head, it claimed to be the demon in the book and wanted her to set it free. Erin refused to let it completely go, but bound it to her instead.

She was seventeen when this happened.

When she turned Eighteen she had been practicing for a year, and the demon, who she called Hlezaf, a demonic word for prison, had started to get antsy, nervous even. It was on November first, the end of Samhain, when she was dragged out of her house and to a hill, she was going to be killed by a cult that wanted to get the book.

Hlezaf had enough of being in the background and forcibly took control over her and her powers. She killed the people...at the cost of her ability to speak. It isn't so much that she can't speak anymore, just only sometimes.

When she woke up after Hlezaf released control of her she found herself across the city. She has wandered around for awhile now, and has found her way to Wing City.

Equipment: Note book, pen, pencil. Spellbook, hand gun, knife. (Why use magic when a gun will do?) Match boxes, OTC pain killers, a roll of duct tape.

Martial status: Single

The bar door creaked open as a woman tried, the key word here being tried, to get in without being noticed...didn't really work with the door making a sound like that. She winced, her face turning red before she shrugged her shoulders. No point in sneaking in now she supposed. She waltzed in, her heels clacking on the floor. The woman appeared to be in her early twenties, and it looked like she worked out some by how her body was toned. Her name was Erin Desmond...but she went by Violet now. Her grey eyes scanned the area, resting on each person. There was an uninterested woman, a man bugging her, and an elderly business man. But none seemed to terribly interesting...which was good. Interesting could mean dangerous.

She walked over to the elderly man and pulled out her notebook and a pen. Her pen scratched across the paper for a moment before she turned it around to show him. It read I see no bartender, how do you order a drink here? I am new to the city.

Violet tilted her head, her purple pony tail falling over her shoulder. Zekil? She supposed that was the name of the bartender. She looked over at the robots...and the electronic menus, biting down on her lower lip before she turned the notebook around, once more her pen scratched against the paper. She stopped for a moment, scratched something out and then started writing again. After a few seconds she turned it around again What if you can't speak? Can you show me how to use the menu? I don't want to...break it.

Violet gave the man a weak smile before sitting across from him, her eyes intently on him as he listed what to do. The girl gingerly picked up the menu, touching the screen with a delicate finger. Slowly she ran her finger across the page, her eyes widening before she smiled. It was bit like a giant smartphone...she hadn't ever owned one but she had sen them. She poked on the vodka section, adding cranberry juice on it before it suddenly asked for her ID. She frowned...but pulled out her wallet, placing it where it said. And then...then she was done. Thank you. Oh. I am Violet. She wrote down in her notebook, turning it to face the man.

She gripped the old mans hand and gave him a smile. She was glad that he wasn't asking to many questions about...well the note pad thing. She couldn't help but stare at the cufflinks, wondering if they were actually onyx, and how much they cost. She was only wearing one piece of jewelry, a single large silver bracelet with what looked like a large red stone of some sort on it. She was only wearing it because...she couldn't take it off. When she let go of the hand she took up the note book once more and wrote. How long have you been here Mr. Gabriel Ereb?

Erin nodded her head, she was pretty sure he didn't reside in the bar, but...well she used to reside where ever she wanted too, working a ton of odd jobs over America before finally finding her way here. Her vodka cranberry arrived, bringing a sweet looking smile to her face. She quickly looked down to her messenger bag, pulling out a large parcel wrapped in brown paper before finally finding her wallet amongst her gun and knife. The purple haired youth paid the robo server, staring at it as it went away, shaking her head. This was certainly a lot different from the other places she had been. Violet turned her attention back to Gabriel and wrote down. You too? Probably longer then me..I just arrived last night, I am trying to get the feel of the city. What made you so...influential in this city? If you don't mind me asking? When she was done she held up the small notebook, a grin on her face as she sipped the cranberry vodka.

Violet tipped back her drink and opened her mouth to let out a sigh of joy but quickly closed it, frowning. Good. Nothing happened that time. She watched as he pulled out a card, taking it gingerly in her hands and frowning. She had no idea what Ereb industries was...she almost opened her mouth again but decided quickly against it and scribbled down in her notebook. I am sorry, but what did you company do? She glanced over at the parcel on the table before sighing and sliding it back into her bag.

The girl called Violet nodded slowly, she actually was interested in a few of those fields, though her knowledge of them was very slim. She was mainly interested in space exploration, on her plane...for that is pretty much the best way she could think of how she got here was plane hopping, they had explored space a bit, but not much in the recent years. And medicine was also a very important field of study. Out came the pen and note book again I can see how you are an important person then. Where ha--- The scratching of the pen stopped, causing the pen to bleed on the page. She was starting at the woman that had entered the bar, the...thing the woman was wearing had a nasty looking burn on the right arm...she wondered what had happened before looking back at her paper. Shit. Of course the pen bled. She huffed before continuing to write has this place gotten into space?

Violet...actually did to seem to mind being around all the people...and the one with the rotting head seemed to creep her out even more....she slowly scooted as far away from the people as possible, taking her note book and pen with her. She was fine with one on one talking...because then they would have to wait up while she wrote down. With a group...people didn't tend to do that. SO...she just...closed it, huffing a little bit.

Violet blinked, wondering what set the woman off. She opened her mouth to apologize...for what ever it was that pissed her off. But the only sound that came out was the passing of air as it left her lungs in a unnerving rattle. She quickly closed her mouth and huffed through her nose again. At least it was only that sound and not the other. She turned to look at Gabriel and shrugged her shoulders before ordering another cranberry vodka.

Violet grinned as the robot brought her another cranberry vodka, sipping at it slowly as she looked at the group that gathered around the two original occupants of the group. She felt...crowded. And she carefully reached her hand into her bag and pulled out the large parcel wrapped in brown paper, putting it in front of her and patting it. It gave her comfort that it was there...it made her feel safe.

Erin woke up with a start, her purple hair was a mess now and she had her bracelet imprinted on her face. She looked around slowly at all the people and frowned. She was a bit sad not to see the elderly man, Gabriel, was gone...but she wasn't surprised, she had been out for awhile. She stood up slowly, putting the brown parcel in her bag and picking up her notebook and pen. She walked to the bar counter, sitting a bit away from everyone. It wasn't that she didn't want to be bothered...but...well she doubted that people would put up with her having to write her replies. She huffed a little but shrugged, people tended to be impatient around her.

The woman with violet hair suddenly clutched her head and let out a small whimper. Damn. Hlezaf was trying to take control again. She could hear him in her head, his prison, and he wanted out. Now. She curled up in her seat for a moment, shaking her head from side to side, her purple ponytail swishing around. And then...then he stopped. Angry. But he stopped. Violet took a deep breath and sighed in relief before she quickly ordered a vodka cranberry.

Erin quickly downed her vodka cranberry before ordering another. She couldn't drink to much today, especially if Hlezaf was trying to take control of her body. She happened to glance at the man sketching and gave him a small wave before he went back to sketching. She shrugged her shoulders and flipped open her notebook, doodling in it out of boredom.

Erin suddenly became very aware of the chaos around her and frowned. It seemed to be because of one guy talking to a woman...so...she stood up and walked over to the couple, pushing past the sketching man and the winged woman before tapping the male on the shoulder and quickly writing in her note book. Is everything ok here? She wrote before turning it around and tapping on it.

Ok...things had gotten a lot worse. Erin quickly took a step back, reaching into her bag as she dropped her note book. It didn't seem that they really wanted to talk about what was going on. She backed away, behind the winged woman and the sketching man, letting out a small huff. She was actually planning on helping the couple that she thought was being harassed. But whatever, if it was going to be a full out fight, well she wasn't going to get involved. She headed back to the bar counter and sat down before noticing that her notebook was still in the middle of the two feuding couples. She opened her mouth to ask if someone could pick it up, or at least not to step on it, but all that came out was a moan. Oh yeah...she hadn't been mute very long, and still sometimes thought that she could speak. Violet didn't even notice she had sat next to the other woman at the bar, so lost in her thought.

Erin looked around the bar slowly, trying to find the growl before she huffed again and looked at the commotion going on with another huff. Her notebook, the only way she could communicate with people, was in the middle over there...and there was nothing she could do to get it...unless she wanted to get hurt. She slammed her fist on the table and let out a frustrated grunt. She hated this!

Erin blinked as she heard about holy water...well...that wasn't good. She wasn't a demon...but a demon was currently residing inside of her. She wasn't exactly sure what would happen if touched her...she shouldn't have worried though, it all seemed to be heading towards the woman that everyone seemed to dislike, though she didn't know why. She huffed, looking at her now blood covered note book. The poor dog was lying dead on the ground...

Erin blinked when the woman turned into a mist and headed towards the door. She supposed it was as a safe time as any to get her book. The young woman got up and walked past the group, bending over to pick it up, yep...it was useless now. Her eyes watered up and she let out a frustrated moan before turning back around and walking towards the counter again.

The purple haired woman looked through the menu and frowned before seeing an odd section. Something about supplies...she frowned as she looked through the menu. She suddenly smiled as she came upon a notebook and quickly ordered it. Soon enough a robo server came up with the item. She clapped her hands and quickly paid for it. She could 'talk' again. Though...then again most people in the bar seemed rather busy, she wasn't expecting anyone to talk to her...but she still would rather be prepared.

Erin Desmond had started to doodle in her shiny new note book, a grin on her face as she pushed the thoughts of what just happened in the bar out of her mind. After all...things had...well not turned out alright, the dog had died. But...but it could have been so much worse. She was just glad that it hadn't gotten worse.
