Iesha Videlle

0 · 208 views · located in The Infinite Void

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Jehanne

Description

Image
Attire: Very little of her clothing actually fits and she doesn't seem to change them often, likely due to the fact the she has very little. Her two favourite articles are an oversized standard-issue military jacket [kept in better condition than her other clothing] and her hoop earrings [which are actually her only earrings]. Her shirts and pants have occasional holes covered by reflective tape and her shoes lack laces, kept to her feet only by elastic bands.

Equipment

Very often she will keep any variety of small, cheap, improvised weapons on her person, her favorites being a boxcutter and a pair of scissors. She hides them wherever her attire allows: up the sleeves, in pockets, in her boots... you get the idea.

So begins...

Iesha Videlle made her way to the Gardens. That’s the kind of place homeless people usually lived, right? She just needed to find an old hobo, push him over, steal his shopping cart and cardboard and viola! Room and bording taken care of.

…Or so she thought. There were so relkatively few homeless people in Wing City. How could that be? The rent for an urban scape this size ought to be a small fortune. Yet not only did the people around here all seem to have residence, so very few of them seemed to have a frickin’ job! The hell was this place again?

Ivy grunted and took out some nicotine gum, chomping on a couple tablets. She’d been addicted to the crap since she quit smoking with their help. On top of that now, she was hungry. Luckily, homeless or no, there had to at least be some food around. Ivy patted down one of the reflective tape strips covering the holes in her sweats and begun her search.

Score! In one of the first litter bins she looked in, someone had thrown away half of their fast food order. It was still in the bag even so it wouldn’t be as nasty as last time. She reached down into the bin and removed the bag, opening and sniffing its content. The french fries were cold and the buns stale, but still edible. Spitting out her gum and sticking it behind her ear, she noticed a girl had come along to the gardens. Maybe she had her wallet on her...

Iesha stuffed a large bite of well-aged burger in her grin. She obviously wasn’t familiar with how things went down around here. Or she was just unfamiliar with the bizzare-by-any-standard actions. She crumpled up the bag into a grip with one hand and walked on over to the girl. “Ain’t too hard on the eyes is she, Ivy?” The volume in which the spoke could have made that comment for the new girl, but was obviously directed at no one but herself.

With her free arm, Iesha turned and attempted to swing it over exaggeratedly behind Thistle’s shoulders in a manner so straightforward it could easily be interpreted as insincere. “Handle’s Ivy, Ma’am.” Smiling, she introduced without giving her the time to get in a word edgewise.

This stopped, however when something caught her eye and she looked down with a nervous expression. “Shit,” she said. Shoelaces. She backed away uneasily. “F’I were you, I’d best be gettin’ them laces off.” She motioned down to her own shoes, where they had been replaced by elastic bands.

Iesha Videlle made her way through the back streets. That’s the kind of place homeless people usually lived, right? She just needed to find an old hobo, push him over, steal his shopping cart and cardboard and viola! Room and bording taken care of.

Ivy grunted and took out some nicotine gum, chomping on a couple tablets. She’d been addicted to the crap since she quit smoking with their help. She noticed a woman was deeper in the alley. “Now she looks homeless, doesn’t she, Ivy?” A cheshire grin spread across her face. Spitting out her gum and sticking it behind her ear, she patted down one of the reflective tape strips covering the holes in her sweats and begun her pursuit.

Sneaking well behind the woman Iesha checked to see if she owned anything nice while making sure she herself wasn’t being followed. Why either of those would be true no one knows.

Soon, though, the old woman seemed to fall of her own accord. Did she trip? "Granny might just throw out her ba--"

Iesha was silenced upon the next sight. The woman was impaled upon her own cane. Well shit. Iesha ran up and, not knowing anything better to say, asked "You okay?"

"..." Iesha stood there silent as the blood splatted off the knife like red paint off a brush. It an eloquent eulogy for her friend, seemed only a day ago that they met. Man, does life go by so fast.

"Shit, Ivy, mortals are scary. They actually die when they kill themselves" The volume in which Iesha spoke could have made that comment for someone else in the ally, but was obviously directed at no one but herself.

She pondered for a second whether or not to check her pockets, deciding that would be best to put the body in a nearby dumpster and get rid of these stained cloths before she got in trouble again. She motioned to grab the corpse by the arm.

Once she got the cargo moving, thing went smoothly. It almost felt like the weight changed somewhere in the middle of it, but Iesha assumed it was probably the woman's nose dragging on the ground creating friction or something.

Getting to the nearest dumpster she dropped the limb, hearing it fall without resistance. She opened up the cover [isn't that great? -- someone had just emptied their fridge of all their expired foods] and turned back to-- wait a tic. This wasn't the old lady that died. Well, shit, now she was witness to two suicides and couldn't find the second body. Unless, maybe...

This corpse, once Iesha could be arsed into actually looking at it, was eerily similar. She went over to the side of the dumpster and broke off a 2x4 from a stack of wood and rusty metal. Then she did what any smart person would do in the situation: she poked a dead thing with a stick.

Was this what it was like when Iesha dead. Well there was no sharp objects the first time aorund but she was pretty sure there were in the second, actually, that was the third one come to think of it.

But back on track: Iesha was pretty sure she new enough about dead thing to tell wheter or not something was dead and yeah, that thing didn't seem dead. Iesha slung the 2x4 over her shoulders. She wasn't about to wait for her to wake up. "Oi, wake up and walk it off."

Iesha kneeled down beside the awakening young lady. She thought she remembered what the EMTs did with her and thought to try it herself. "You see this light?" she flicked a disposible lighter several times "follow it" she moved it back and forth before burning her thumb. "Good." She wasn't even paying attention now...

"Now can you remember your name?"

Okay. Now that she didn't have to worry about any confusion with homocide and suicide, now she could steal her wallet and... crap, she was waking up really quick. Iesha scrammed, dropping a packet of nicotite gum in the process.

Iesha Videlle cursed. What kinda bar locked their dumpster? They obviously weren't using the leftovers, let someone else eat them! She circled around from the back of the bar to the entrance, trudging through the doors. Upon entrance she heard a rustling sound. Curious, she lifted her mopping head to see.

Candies! Being discarded like they were nothing! Wait, were those... yes: "Necco Wafers!" she shouted at the sight of her favorite candies. Scaanning left and right, seeing no one else was tryiing to claim them, she decided to make her move. She staggered over and fell to her knees. Lifting her shirt halfway up her belly to create a makeshift pocket she stuffed the stacks of chalky disks into.

"Dammit Ivy! didn't I tell you to keep an eye on the cat while I got the bag? What will we do about dinner now?" The blonde girl was obviously upset with someone, though they were completely alone in the ally at the side of Gambit's.

Iesha had earlier noticed a stray cat, and had just now last track of the little scamp. "Tch~ No for you tonight Ivy." She said and decided to head to Gambits'. All the staff there was machinated and didn't berate her for never ordering anything other than mints and water.

Upon entering the bar, Two perked ears immediately caught her eye. So that's where it was hiding! "Quiet Ivy you'll give us away again!" she tried sneaking up behind Hayame put the burlap sack over her head.

Wait a second... something was odd. This was far to big to be a cat [yes, that's what was odd about it, not the humanoid silhouette]. Confused, Iesha had no time to respond to the random slash attacks, geet cut at the neck and the cheek before removing the sack from her head. "You're no cat!" She informed Hayame of something she should already know before turning and repeating herself. "That's no cat. You tryin' to make me a cannibal, Ivy?"

"Taco! muttermutter ratbag something puttin' on the ritz!" Iesha heard from behind. Some tall man had gotten in without her noticing. "...what?"

While Gambit's was busy being, well, Gambit's. A presence had dragged itself before the front door. Pushing the door lazily with her shoulder, Iesha trudged in on squishy, squeaky shoes. They weren't all that was soaked, her shorts and oversized shirt were also damp. Heavy wrinkled set themselves on the shirt when she wrung the fabric on her thigh, staying in the general shape for a while before hesitantly falling back to place.

"Dammit, Ivy. You we s'posed to be our lookout. How could you let the police lady catch me fishin' coins out the fountain?" Her dirty blonde bangs were matted down for the water concealing her sidebound scowl. "I mean, really, if you're-- What? It's not nice to inter -- Money? Where?" She moved her head so suddenly that water from her hair splattered on the wall beside her, seeing a man point.

Moving her head again, she heard where the purse was and started running. Unfortunately her already damaged shoes were now soaked, causing her to trip hitting her head only halfway there. Uttering words beyond what a girl her age should in polite company, she got up and saw that someone had beat her to it. "Hey, bitch! That's mine! Ivy saw it first!"

"Hmph" was all she had to say when the woman stepped back to dodge. Shoving her left hand down her back pocket she muttered toward a someone that wasn't behind Satina "Stay back Ivy, I got this." the absence of the other person made it seem like she was telling this to the woman she was in a fit with.

Suddenly, she made a swift abrupt swing with her right arm to try to -- you guessed it -- dig down the front of her dress. "Never underestimate the starving homeless!"

Iesha had seemed to have gotten over the supposed pain mighty quickly. She was now looking at the masked woman's burn scars. "Ouch, that's nasty. Y'should go see a doc for that." She had stopped applying pressure to her own eye, revealing the area around as rather red and swelling, the eye itself being bloodshot. "Indecent? What are you talking about? I was taking back my property. I don't care where--."

"What are you talking 'bout, Ivy?" Iesha suddenly changed topics before turning around slowly. "Oh." She stated. "This guy." Before she could so anything, Iesha was restrained.

"Boohoo, life's unstable. Get used to it, wog. I should now, I'm already on my fourth one now." Iesha wasn't making sense anymore. Assuming she made any to start with.

"Now, missy smart-arse" she adressed Katyana, "you mind having your lackey lettin' me down?"
