Description
Lain has blue and white hair, mostly for show from her time in a circus focused on the Black Arts. She has ivory skin from her lack of sunlight and eyes that change colour based on her mood, with a default of black. Her hands are long with quick, slender fingers that help her deal the cards and knives efficiently, while she has a small, curvy build. She has hundreds of whip scars on her back from the Ringleader, and Dia de los Muertos fashioned skulls tattooed around her neck. She wears monochromatic clothing with belted boots, with a mask over her mouth and arm warmers – much in the Visual Kei fashion of Japan.

History
Lain hails from the Circo de los Muertos, a Black Arts circus in Mexico. After her father, a powerful CEO in Tokyo found out that his Hispanic wife practiced the Black Arts, he demanded that she leave the country or face death (he wasn’t an uncaring man for his wife). Because of the influence of her mother, Lain was taken to Mexico with her mother where the two of them lived on the streets and attempted to make money with their craft. It was then that Lain learned the art of Tarot reading and the world of Necromancy. She was never able to control the dead she summoned, and what she summoned depended on her emotion of the moment. Once Lain’s mother died, she set out to find a way to make enough money to return to Tokyo, and eventually joined up with the Circo de los Muertos. Her gory acts made audiences come in droves, but the Ringleader hated her stealing the spotlight from him night after night. After ten years of whips, knives, and all around abuse, Lain made a run for it with the few dollars she collected (as most of her money went to the Ringleader).

Personality
Though she is a bit quiet, Lain likes to make friends, especially those that are unique. Because she lived in Japan and Mexico, her English isn't the greatest, and she is still learning via conversation. She is very mellow around others, but is very easily angered, probably from her mother's side. Her summons reflect her feelings, just as her eyes do.
