Laeveria Lacerta

A mysterious and devious demoness, apt in the weaving of words upon her silver tongue. Responsible for the downfall of many otherwise strong political leaders, her interference in mortal affairs is a constant thorn in the side of her counterpart, Celeste.

Description

Laeveria Lacerta
"Daughter of Havok"

ImageAge: Nine thousand and twelve.
Birth Date: 7002 BC
Gender: Female
Race: Demon
Rank: Dominion

Abilities

Inherent Demonic Abilities:
Psychokinesis: Examples of psychokinesis include distorting or moving an object, and influencing the output of a random number generator.
Levitation
Possession: Laeveria can subvert weaker minded individuals or animals, transferring her consciousness into theirs, and taking control of their body.
Contracts: As a demon, Laeveria - when she has free time - sometimes deigns to dabble in a bit of tempting. When doing so, she naturally has to have a method of binding the deals she makes, and so vested in her is the power to form binding contracts with the devil, the terms of which she is trusted to draw out herself.
Animal Control: Laeveria can influence nearby animals, putting them into a frenzy or calming them.

Extra Sensory Perception:
Divination: Laeveria can, to a degree, learn an objects history simply by holding it, including who its owners were and what it has been used for.
Telepathy: Laeveria can read the thoughts of others, and transmit her own into their minds as a form of communication.
Precognition: Laeveria can predict major events, as well as smaller events that directly affect her - but only when she puts her mind to it. The visions do not come upon her, she must actively seek them out.
Retrocognition: Laeveria can often display knowledge of a past event she has experienced that she could not have acquired by normal means given where she was or what she was doing at the time. For example, she could relate back to you the features of a man who walked into a bar, took a package, and out again, whilst the entire time having been facing the other way.

Classical Element Control:
Fire: Laeveria can manipulate the element of fire in the usual ways, fireballs, blasts, and etc.
Water: Laeveria can manipulate the element of water in the usual ways, water jets, ice, and etc.
Wind: Laeveria can manipulate the element of wind in the usual ways, wind blasts, lightning, and etc.
Earth: Laeveria can manipulate the element of wind in the usual ways, earthquakes, metal manipulation, and etc.
Aether: Described as 'subtler than light', Aether is the fifth element, and refers to the Celestial energies of both Heaven and Hell. It is Aether that fills both these realms, rather than any of the other four elements, and it is both all of them and none of them at once. The manipulation of Aether allows Laeveria to pass between the mortal realm and these realms, and thus allows her the power of teleportation - as she can enter Hell from one point and then re-enter the mortal plane at an entirely different location. She stays away from Heaven, she generally doesn't get a very good reception.

Witchcraft
Curse of Weakness: Laeveria lays a curse upon an enemy, sapping the strength from their muscles and the energy from their body. They slowly become sluggish, then stilled, then slowly collapse under their own weight unless the curse is lifted. The curse takes near an hour to fully remove the victim’s strength.
Depression: The mind of the victim begins to create sorrow where no sorrow is, imagining events of misery that infects their heart, sending them spiralling into sorrow and crippling depression.
Fear: The mind of the victim is filled with horrific imagery, terrifying them with their worst nightmares, and sending them fleeing for their lives from an imagined monstrosity.
Restless Slumber: Slowly the victim is drawn into a hypnotic slumber where they stand, knocking them unconscious and into a deep unnatural sleep.
Insidious Poison: The blood of the Witch's foe is contaminated with a deadly poison, that slowly creeps through their bloodstream to seize their heart and hold it still, weakening them considerably until a cure can be found. The poison takes several days to kill, but weakens instantly, and cannot be dispelled like most spells. The antidote must be found, which ironically comes from the deadly flower Nightshade.
Shapeshifting: Laeveria can change her form at whim, be it to that of an animal or simply altering her features.

Personality: Laeveria's personality can be described as whimsical, childish and egocentric, but these are merely the outward signs she gives off. Beneath the surface, whilst these are aspects of her personality she is a far more sinister being - manipulative and cruel, capable of lying through her teeth while seeming as sincere as ever, and watching a person die while drawing nothing from it but mild amusement. Whilst she is not the sort of demon to go about slaughtering innocents, she certainly doesn't go out of her way to help them, and often inconveniences them greatly be it via merit of her presence or merit of her actions. Her sense of humour is somewhat sadistic, and she has a very superior attitude towards mortals, considering them worthless for anything but brief entertainment value.

So begins...

Laeveria Lacerta blinked, and vanished into the Aethyr, like a bitch. She had forgotten she was even still here. As if to punish her for this, she did end up rather unfortunately charred by the fireball, and apparently disgruntled about it if the torrent of swearing as she dissipated was anything to go by.

Laeveria Lacerta idly wandered onto the scene -- though from where it was not certain. Perhaps there had been a rippling in the air as she arrived, or perhaps she had simply been walking along Main Street, and happened to pass by. Or maybe she had been standing there all along, simply standing really still.

"My oh my! What a ruckus!" Laeveria's lips curled upwards in a broad smile. "Catherine, you attract the most rowdy of crowds, hmm?" the demoness laughed, a melodious sound, placing a gloved hand upon the other woman's shoulder.

"Are we to have some fun? I do enjoy a good romp now and again." winking, Laeveria looked to Inferno. "Yoohoo! Give us a smile, hot stuff!"

A second melodious laugh echoed out from Laeveria's throat, as the demoness stepped forwards, unfettered by the heat -- after all, she lived in hell. Calling upon her elemental manipulation, Laeveria lifted her arms in a wide arc, lighting them with a blue glow.

From the ground, sending Inferno's molten rock and steel scattering in all directions, two geysers of ice cold water spouted forth to crash towards him with the force of a train wreck, cracking through concrete and wooden floorboards alike to converge on him from two sides in an attempt to douse his flame.

"Ooh," Laeveria murmured, "Steamy..."

Laeveria Lacerta , knowing that she was Catherine's only chance of surviving this blast, leapt into action. Abandoning the jets of water as they evaporated into nothing, Laeveria instead focused on controlling the fire that leapt out from Inferno's form. With a scream that sounded like something between a cry of pain and sheer ecstasy, Laeveria drew the fire to her, redirecting it, focusing it, living it.

The flames swirled around her in a cyclone of heat and burning, and Laeveria danced with a cackling laugh, spinning and leaping on the spot in an intricate ballet of pain and pleasure. The shrapnel that would have hit her otherwise was melted by the intensity of the flames she wove around her like a gown, smiling all the while.

With a final pirouette, Laeveria spun herself upwards, and sent the flame spiralling into the sky, burning through the clouds and dissipating away in an umbrella that turned the sky red.

"I'm actually feeling the heat, ooh, this must be hot for all you mortals!" she sang whimsically.

Laeveria Lacerta observed this, walking forward to the crater in the obvious long time it would take Inferno to travel the entire width of the earth, and had the thought to start filling in the hole after him.

Calling on Earth, Laeveria hovered over the glass hole, and readied herself. Then the magma came.

And stopped.

Pushing down on it with every fibre of her power, Laeveria contained the magma before it could erupt, shoving it down, down back to where it came from. The heat of the earth was irrelevant, its speed was irrelevant. Laeveria could manipulate earth, and manipulate it she did.

"I suppose I stopped that little messy spooge then." she murmured, lowering herself to the ground.

There was a demon behind Theo.

It was questionable as to how long she had been there. To the casual onlooker, it would be extremely hard to place quite when she stopped not being there, and started being there. It was somewhat vague.

That aside, however, Laeveria Lacerta let out a light cough from behind Theo, announcing her presence. "I can't help but notice that you seem less than satisfied with your companions current state of being dead."

"Quite." Laeveria stated, raising an eyebrow. "But I digress. I equally couldn't help but notice that you have been asking around for something of a 'free pass' back to life, no?"

The demoness smiled, "I have a proposition for you."

Laeveria Lacerta clicked her tongue, and waved a hand. In the air appeared a long length of paper, unfolding and hovering beside her, accompanied by an ornate pen. "I can bring her back." Laeveria stated, smiling.

"But I ask a price. Within... shall we say, two months, you must deliver me a soul. If you have not done so, then I will simply have to take yours. It's all very simple. I won't even bother dressing it up."

Laeveria Lacerta hadn't known that there were people that stupid out there. There should be more of them, really, it would make her job a helluva lot easier...

"Yes, just on the dotted line." she said, continuing to smile sweetly.

Laeveria Lacerta nodded, rolling the contract up with a flick of her fingers, both it and the pen disappearing with a flash. "Very well."

The demoness lifted a hand, and snapped her fingers.

"It is done. She lives." Laeveria smiled, "Now have fun digging her up before she suffocates!"

And then she was gone.

Jay Null opens his comms, reaching out to the vessel he notices off his bow.

Is everything okay out there? Do you need a terrestrial assist?
he asked inquisitively.

Outside of orbit around the planet Terra.

A medium-sized ship, shaped like a triangle with a blunted end, moves slowly towards Terra and the space station above it. The shape and size of this ship may have been seen before, but this one in particular has never been witnessed by any Terran, or as a matter of fact, any species or beings besides the ones who had made it. If they were able to trace it's origins, then it would point to an unexplored area known generally as RA-619, and even more specifically the Glendathu system. The doesn't seem to be armed, and a scan for life would only turn up three humanoid beings.

The ship made no advances of any sort towards the planet or the station, and seemed to just be there. Watching. Peaceful, it seemed, and the crew had no intentions of attacking. But they were truly awestruck. In front of them was a culture, a sophisticated one, unseen to any of their people, and they didn't know how to feel about it. They were just awaiting orders at this point.

Jay Null shrugged and closed the comms. The traffic in the Terran orbital was bustling as usual, an economic boom brought on by the prolonged period of peace. Alas, he knew the endless waltz of history, and had work to do.

Tapping a few buttons on his console, he maneuvered down towards Wing City Spaceport, leaving a faint thruster trail in his wake.

Professor G spotted the shooting star from his view out the station window, and gave an exasperated sigh.

What's this, another Gundam?
he opined, wondering if his cohorts thought the same.

Very well. I'll tell the others.

Meanwhile, a Gundam truly had breached the atmosphere and entered Terra's lower orbit, coming from Wing City. It was an old AEU-09 AEU Enact Space Type from long ago. As it ascended, it transformed into it's space-faring flight mode shape.

The name of the Gundam was Sol Senshi- and nobody was supposed to be operating it. It had been refurbished for unknown to the public purposes and locked down, hiding in plain sight in Wing City Spaceport.

Who was even operating it?

Whoever they were, they were certainly a criminal now.
