She is branded with a 'rogue's sign', which is a tattoo gained by being convicted by the militarist government of her homeland. The larger the insignia, the more serious the crime. Her symbol means 'to hell' in an ancient language of her homeland.

Personality

Impulsive as she is, Lanen has a heart of gold hidden under lock and key by a cool steel case. She has her moments where the heart of gold shines through. She likes to play around. She believes strongly in Justice and Loyalty. She is extremely ferocious in any kind of battle situation.

Equipment

A double ended wide Naginata.

Various throwing blades

skilled in practically all forms of martial arts.

History

Born under a militaristic communism in a small country in the south Pacific, Lanen is a freedom fighter for her people. Growing up was very hard for her and because her father was in the military, she, as his only child, was expected to follow in his footsteps. She was trained in every known form of martial arts from the time she could walk. She was harshly disciplined and brought up in the idea that 'might makes right.' When she was in her late teen years, Lanen served in her country's guerilla forces, however, she had a hard and fast change of heart when her commander murdered an old couple just trying to feed their own family when they were unable to give over the necessary tithe.

She broke away from the military and began to be a freedom fighter for her country. Eventually, she killed the regional Governor and was purposely caught. With the crime of murder, an offense punishable by death, she escaped the encampment where she was kept, left only with her brand. The ancient language that the Government used for their official motions branded her with the words 'to hell' on her left arm.

She fled the nation in hopes of finding outside help to free her country of the militaristic power that hangs over the heads of the thousands of people of her nation. She arrived in an unknown land and found she was in a place called 'Wing City'. She managed to find money with various forums of mercenary work or theft and is staying in a mediocre room in a hotel somewhere in the city, a few blocks away from the famed Gambit's.

After some time spent at the bar, Lanen met Kobe Minatara , whom she knows as Han. Lanen and Han first started off as quick friends, the two quickly getting to know one another over Alcohol and his business with a black smoke beast. Go figure she had run across such smoke creatures in her homeland of Cathua. She had fought them off, barely escaping with her life, when they had attacked the village her family lived in. After a couple of days, Lanen felt like she was falling for the secret agent and decided to explore that idea of a relationship. Soon enough, just a couple of days after, she was positive she was falling for the man she didn't even know the real name of.

After spending even more time with the strange man, she found out that her feelings were returned. Even more so even and his trust was put in her. She now knows his real name and has promised him and herself that she would keep his birth name a secret for as long as he wanted her to. As it turned out, Kobe, whom she refers to as 'Han' still when they're in public, was a very loyal and protective man towards his loved ones.

Lanen Faylos ran her hand through her thick tresses of brown hair, her amber eyes scanning the crowed as she walked into the bar. She proceeded to walk into Gambit's and slid herself into place on a barstool where she ordered a small cut of whiskey from the bartender.

Lanen Faylos wandered her way into the bar, a wide yawn coming from the woman as she scanned the crowd in disinterest. The warrior had left her largest weapon in her hotel room a couple of streets down, all she had on her were knives, so hopefully there wasn't going to be any sign of a bar fight tonight. She stretched her shoulders with a loud crack and scanned the area again, "Doesn't look like there is any sign of a bartender again," she muttered. She tucked her hand under her chin, looking around for anyone she deemed could be worthy company. She looked at a Military looking man, a male Reading a George Orwell novel and various others before she was more content to get something to wet her tongue than any kind of company.

Lanen Faylos 's eyes went right back to the Military Man when she caught the flash of a gun barrel from the corner of her eye. "If that thing is by any means custom, I'm sure it'd fetch a pretty penny," she muttered to herself. However, she was still waiting on a Bartender which didn't seem to exist in these parts apparently. If she had to wait any longer she was sure she would take a whole bottle of top shelf anything at this rate.

Lanen Faylos pulled a knife out for the fun of it and began to play with it between her fingers. She tossed the blade into the air a few times before catching it by the handle. She frowned. That rifle was too warn out looking, losing her interest.

Lanen Faylos frowned, as she had yet to get any word of a Bartender. "The service here is certainly lousy," she commented with a huff.

Lanen Faylos laughed at Bartelo after he approached her. "Gimme a minute," she said, as her curiosity got the better of her and she wandered over towards Kobe Minatara. She patted her blades to make sure none of them had fallen out of their hiding place and looked at the male. "Something is telling me to talk to you," she blurted out in a tomboyish fashion.

Lanen Faylos chuckled a few times before she reached up and lightly pointed her left forefinger at his tiger tattoo. Her finger was barely touching his skin, tickling it a slight bit. "I like the ink," she commented, it was a start at least.

Lanen Faylos nearly choked at the idea of the symbol on her arm having a spiritual meaning. "Heck no, it's a rouge's sign. It's what you get if you've been arrested and convicted back where I'm from," she stated.

Lanen Faylos closed her eyes for a moment. "I killed the regional governor. He was taxing people too much even when the land was experiencing severe drought," she said, acting like it was more of a badge of honor than a mark of treason.

Lanen Faylos gave a bit of a pout. "I'm not a creature," she said in a tone that could've easily gone for cute if that had been what she had been trying for. "It's just a good place to find some company, decent or otherwise," she said with a shrug.

Lanen Faylos shrugged. "They're out there, just don't believe every one you come across," she stated. She looked around for a few moments, the kid that had wanted to wait on her was gone so she decided instead on just getting some alcohol for herself, specifically a irish carbomb for herself.

Lanen Faylos leaned forward, being very showy with her assets at the moment. "Waiting on somebody?" she asked. She then pouted for a moment, "How rude of me, My name is Lanen Faylos," she said, keeping her hands plenty to herself.

Lanen Faylos pouted again. "Please, just call me Lanen. 'Miss Faylos' makes me feel like a school teacher," she replied with a content laugh. She had found the decent company she had wanted. "By the way, what took off your leg?" she queried, "I can hear the false leg every time you shift your stance, even the slightest bit."

Lanen Faylos coughed a little. "Well, It isn't exactly a demon, but it's pretty damn close if I do say so myself," she said with a few sways of her hand. "Anyway, we had a plague of black fog monsters in my country long before I escaped the borders."

Lanen Faylos took it that he misunderstood her. She knew plenty about these monsters, but any good Cathuan wouldn't talk about the massacre that had occurred because of them. She ran her hand through her hair and just left it alone. "So, could I mix you a drink..?" she questioned in a light tone.

Lanen Faylos nodded to Kobe. "What would you like?" she asked. Her attention was then caught by the young Neko thing that had called for her. She was already behind the counter, might as well do something. Besides, the kid was kind of cute. She picked up a coffee cup and a saucer and put them on the counter with the necessities next to them before she put the tea bag in and poured hot water over it. She then pushed the tea forward. "Sit here, kid, you don't need to be wandering around with a cup of scalding tea," she said to Terra, probably about as affectionately cool as she could muster.
