An accomplished cage fighter, ironically is just a good natured guy trying to be happy.

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Architect

Description

Image

Name:
Lark Decibel
Age:
24
Height/Weight:
6'2"/ 168lbs
Usual Appearence:
Lark almost always wears two items on his person at all times; his headphones and a charm around his neck. These both hold sentimental value to him. His usual clothing is normally a loose fitting t-shirt and a pair of jeans along with a pair of heavy workman's boots and black fingerless gloves.
Skills possessed:
Cage fighting, break dancing, Kenpo, singing
Supernatural abilities:
Sound Manipulation

Equipment

Weapons:
A gauntlet resembles a black Tekou. However what makes this different is that as he flexes his hand, two long, thin blades protrude from a what looks like a spring box housed behind his wrist. And, on his left hand a single Tekagi-shuko, something he used back in his street fighting days. More commonly used for climbing, he'd found them a pretty decent weapon in hand to hand fights primarily because of how easy the hooks were concealed in the palm of his hand.

So begins...

Lark wandered inside Gambits for the first time since he had moved to the Wing city. He was an accomplished fighter back in some smaller city, Beacon Hieghts or something like that, anyway it was considerable smaller then the infamous Wing city. He had been able to settle in rather nicely though despite rumors. He had his own apartment, was a name in a large fight league, lacked any social contacts but hey, that's why he was here.

As his big black and red headphones blared music into his ears he walked to the bar and brought up one of the holo menus. He took a moment to consider his choice before punching in an order for a Greyhound. A favorite drink of his, essentially Grapefruit juice and Vodka.

Lark would only bob his head back and forth slightly as he enjoyed the music being playe dthrough his headphones. It would seem as if he was completely deaf to what was going on, it would seem. the reality was he was choosing not to involvehimself. He was a man who learned to trust his instincts, and right now they were telling him not to approach either of those huge women.

Instead he waited patiently for his drink, grinning happily as it was delievered to him. As he took a sip from his glass he cast a look to his side at the woman sitting next to him. She was rather well dressed, bright, was the word that came to mind. His look lasted only a second before he turned tp face the counter in front of him. He wasn't bold enough to start a conversation with a random woman.

Lark found himself without much to do besides listen to his music and quietly drink. that was, until suddenly the music cut off. He turned his head a couple times confused as to why until he spotted the jack for his headphones hanging loosely and instead of in his pocket. He cast another curious look to the smaller woman before plugging it back in, with a playful smirk of course.

Without a word he resumed staring at the counter ahead of him as he listened to his music, occasionally taking a sip of his drink. Even when he felt insulted by that woman's comment about no real men being present, he showed no reaction whatsoever.

Lark's brow arched as he heard a loud sneeze, watching the head of the woman beside him bounce off the bar's counter. He opened his mouth to give a polite "gesundheit" but instead took a drink from his glass and faced forward. He pulled a pen out of his pocket and decided to scribble something onto a napkin.

Again the music cut off, Lark shook his head with a slight smile and slid the napkin over towards her. Afterwards he turned back to his pocket to plug his headphone jack back in.

"Bless you." Were the words he wrote.

Lark would cast a glance to the note and give a nod in response, along with a slight tip of his glass. It seemed that the other woman present had beat him to the punch. No matter, it didn't really bother him. Instead he was grateful that his headphone jack had been left alone for a bit, giving him a chance to thoroughly enjoy the song that had come on. His foot tapped ryhtmically against the floor of the bar as he took a sip from his drink. He wondered why he hadn't spoke yet, it would seem like he was sucked into some fun game without knowing....oh well.

Lark looked to his side once more as he set his glass upon the counter. He was fully aware of the feeling of a pair of eyes drilling into the side of his head. He decided to take a chance and turn his head fully around to look back at the young woman. He chanced meeting her pale brown eyes head on. Although after a while he felt...awkward. He noticed her eye his headset, and proceeded to remove it, holding it ourt for her to take. They were a unique pair of headphones, they played music based on the wearer's emotions at the time and what they wanted to listen to.

He would stifle a laugh before taking them from her hands. He found it funny what had blared through the headphones, not at all odd. From his experince, it was always the same result with similar looking women. He smiled to her as he took back his headphones and placed them on his head, sounds of instrumental drum music replacing the wailing. as he took a drink from his glass, foot tapping along with the beat he listened to, he turned to face her again.

"Lark." Was all he grinned as he extended a hand towards her.

Lark shook Nikka's hand with a smile and a nod before turning back to his drink. With one last gulpr he downed the rest of it and rose to his feet. He gave Nikka another nod as if to say "Pleasure meeting you." before turning to make for the door. It was getting late and he had practice tomorrow.

Lark would wandered into the Arena grounds headphones blaring carrying a small pack over his shoulder. He rubbed his arms as sand and dust whipped against his skin from a strong wind that happened to be going on. Of course Lark assumed this was happening because they kicked the fans on or something, completely naive to the real reason. Looking around he found the stands and the arena grounds both empty.

He quickly pulled out a piece of paper and his phone. To his unfortunate surprised he discovered he had showed up for his fight a day early, the leauge he was in wasn't meeting here until tomorrow. With a heavy sigh he returned both the phone and paper to his pockets.

Well this sucked, he was all amped for a fight too.

Thwack.

Lark stifled a curse as something hard collided with the back of his head. He droppped his back to the ground and proceeded to rub his head violently, hopping a bit as he did so. After a moment he spun around to try and figure put what happened. To his amazement he spotted Nikka, the girl from the bar, standing there.....slingshot in hand.

He glared for a moment before looking at the ground to find a walnut resting at his feet. He bent down to pick it up, hiding a slight smirk. When he rose back to his feet he looked to Nikka and whipped the nut back at her.

Well now, was he being underestimated?

Before moving Lark observed the orbs as they revolved around her. He thought up scenarios in his head of how they could be possibly apllied in a fight. She could have been a telekinetic who used them as weapons, or perhaps they each carried their own unique element that should could manipulate at will. It was also possible they played more of a defensive roll, building a field of enrgy around her. In the end he thought up a whole list, but it would be worthless until he could deduce the real reason behind them.

He did however conclude that this fight would be more playful in nature, as he did not sense an intent to seriously injure or potentially kill him come from her. So with a smile Lark raised his hands to take up his fighting stance and bounced lightly on his feet. He quickly swiped his thumb across the bridge of his nose a couple times in response to the taunting gesture.

As the music in his headphones changed, he kicked off his back foot and ran at her.

Lark would skid to stop as the Orb transformed into what appeared to be a rather large, but rather skinny looking, dog. Well, he wasn't really used to fighting animals, so this caught him rather off guard. He stood there in his defensive stance with a pretty confused look on his face. As far as he knew it was a normal dog which brought along normal problems. He didn't want to do anything he'd regret so it would be best not to try and break it's jaw if it tried to bite him.

After thinking it over a bit Lark decided his goal would be to avoid the canine and simply touch Nikka, for him, it was enough to declare a win.

His eyes could not have grown any wider at the sight of the hellhound. Well this was going to be difficult. He did not even get enough time to think of a strategy before he was attacked with some kind of fireball. Lark would hop off to his left to avoid it and break into a sprint directed straight at the dog. His body gave every intention of an attack. Of course, that would have been rather stupid of him, punching a dog that was literally on fire.

Instead Lark had rushed the dog as a form of deception. He hoped that he had fooled both it and Nikka into thinking that he was actually foolish enough to try and fight with the dog. However as he neared it, he suddenly slid his right foot forward before pivoting on his left to quickly spin around and turn towards Nikka.

Lark was surprised himself that his maneuvar worked, considering he'd simply improvised something he'd seen in football games. Well, with that out of the way he focused on what to do next, with the large dogon his heels he would only have a few seconds to reach Nikka before it took a chunk out of his ass.

As he sprinted he noticed Nikka arm her slingshot and point it at him. He quickly raised his arms to defend himself, his right arm reaching in front of him slightly, bent at a sixty degree angle, his left came across his chest, hand bracing the back of his right forearm. It was a rather awkward pose he'd admit, but it allowed him to reach out towards her while covering his face and the upper portion of his chest.

Fwack

Lark's eye's rolled as he felt a sharp pain shoot up his left leg. It stumbled him slightly and even moreso as he soon found himself being slid under.

Well that was rather embarrising.

He cast a look over his shoulder only to really get a look of the falming canine rushing at his backside. With a moments thought he threw all of his weight onto his left foot and tossed himself into a roll to his left before quickly spinning to his feet. who knew he would be able to use breakdancing at a time like this?

Without wasting much time he quickly resumed running towards Nikka, this time he was prepared for her to try and get by him through his front.

Again Lark would skid to a stop. He looked over his shoulder, a relieved sigh escaping him as he noticed that flaming Rottweiler was no longer after his behind. This time he looked to the Blue lacy who now stood between him and Nikka. His brow arched as he noticed the gasses that were coming out of it. Quickly he pulled his shirt over his nose and mouth, hoping it would protect him in some way.

Lark darted forward again, face half covered as he ran. It seemed this girl was worth using a bit of his power on. He started to whistle loudly, however the only two that could hear it was he and the dog. It was a loud piercing whistle, but Lark manipulated the soundwaves so that Nikka would be deaf to it, for her own safety.

Those that heard this whistle other then himself would find themself inflicted with a case of vertigo, dizziness, and general disorientation. Lark achieved this by having the sound of the whistle target the victim's equilibrium. He was fine, and continue to sprint whole heartedly at Nikka.

Lark stopped again, continuing his pattern of halting his advance with every switch. So she had another fierce looking one in reserve. The bull Terrier's appeareance caused Lark to pull on his shirt's collar slightly. It was fair to say he was intimidated, even more so when he found metal spikes hovering over his head. Well....it seemed she wanted him to get the point...ugh thank god he didn't say that out loud.

He moved his foot forward slightly as he watched the spikes above him, with every motion they seemed to get lower....wel lthat sucked. He concluded that he was being confined to his current position and wouldn't be able to move until that dog was incapcitated.Luckily however, he thought he had just the thing.

Again he started to whistle, and again he caused Nikka to be deaf to his tune. This whistle was slightly different, instead of a sharp piercing whistle, it was a low, lulling sound. It carried a quiet tune, that upon hearing he hoped would cause the dog to fall into a trance like sleep. He called it his hypnosis whistle, he really should get a new name for it. He just hoped that if the dog fell asleep, the spikes would disappear and not commence to fall on his head. Still, he was ready to run, just in case.

Lark did a rather awkward looking danceas he tried to avoid being impaled by one of the spikes. when he finally thought he breathe a sigh of relief, another came down and jerked him to the ground by his shirt. He coughed for a moment as he had been choked rather aburptly, and rubbed the back of his head which had bounced off the ground. That one smarted really good. As he laid there he made sure to finish his whistle and lull the canine into a sleep.

After he felt satisfied with how long he made the sound, he proceeded to slip out of his t-shirt. He didn't want to pull on it too much, he rather liked the the light tannish brown shirt with the dark brown kitty design. Maybe thats why the dogs seemed to dislike him...poor wardrobe choice on his part. After slithering out of his shirt he stood there bare chested, observing the spikes. There wasn't enough space to pass through them...but he noticed they were only about five feet high. With a huff he pushed himself up onto one and fell over to the other side, pretty ungracefully at that.

Lark gawked as he got to his feet...another one....How many did she have? As the wind started to kick up again Lark rubbed his arms. She just had to take his shirt, he was freezing now. Fighting off shivers, Lark tried his best to observe the Husky. with all this wind he doubted his whistles would do much, the sound would bounce all around instead of reaching his specific target.

This left him stumpped. All he could really do with his power other then cause certian effects to his target was enhance his own abilities, and maybe a few other tricks, but nothing that he could think of that would help him at this moment. however an idea would pop into his head that would cause him to run to his discarded pack and rummage through it. First, he pulled out a black t-shirt, it was too damn cold to be running around half naked.

After throwing that on, he pulled out an item that resembled a black Tekou. however what made this different was that as he put it on and flexed his hand, two long, thin blades protruded from a what looked like a spring box housed behind his wrist. And finally, on his left hand he put on a small glove, this was a single Tekagi-shuko, something he used back in his street fighting days.

Ah damn, now it was getting hard to see....he likened his situation to being in the middle of a dust storm. Beat a hurricane though. Lark had something in reserve for situations like these. He clicked his tounge, sending out a high frequency pulse in three hundred and sixty degrees. He always hated using echolocation in a fight, made him feel like a bat, not to mention there was always going to be a slight delay before he got his feedback. In that short amount of time he might as well be blind.

Thanks to this technique however he was able to determine the location of both Nikka and the dog. To his pleasant suprise, he found that the canine had seperated itself from it's master, and with this poor visibility and high wind, he didn't have to worry about any flying walnuts aimed for his head.

Lark broke into a sprint towards Nikka, clicking his tounge every half second to make sure he was on the right path.
