Description

Species : Human (elemental mage - Water based.)

Age : 22 (Though he is very mature for his age.)

Height : 5'10

Eye Shade : A deep, oceanic blue and should a person look closely, the iris will seem to swirl about his pupils, mirroring a wave on the open seas.

Build : As a mage, he has little in the way of muscles apart from some pleasant toning he gained throughout his almost constant cleaning. His figure is slender though not too tall, however his height does not concern him.

Attire : His clothing was made to fit his form, crafted by the finest tailors Paris had to offer. In consists of a fine black dress shirt with slight frills along the center, broad cuffs that often find themselves (carefully, of course) folded upward to allow easier cleaning. His trousers are the same color and are basic, straight-legged leggings, finished off with shiny, always polished shoes.
On occasion he will wear a pair of black gloves, if he is serving for example.
His hair is always neatly combed to frame his rather handsome face, the blackish locks slightly flared above his shoulder they seem to glitter blue in the light.

Personality

Mile's persona can be summed up in two words; Clean and polite.

He values both these things above all else, doing his utmost to keep everyone happy, well-fed and watered while maintaining the high (very high) standard of appearance that he applies to himself. Likewise he believes that politeness goes a long way, and addresses people always as 'Sir' or 'Miss'.

(More to come.)

So begins...

Miles Roux smiled gratefully and tilted the upper half of his body forward in a perfectly formed bow. "My thanks, Miss... I will try to be good company for you." She then stepped briskly to the side and sat silently in the opposite chair. His hands crossed lightly over his chest and he tilted his head to one side, strands of blueish hair drifting over his features. "A male with glasses... Ah, Master Darius." He smiled and nodded. "He appointed me here, in fact."

He then paused, looking around the room slowly before looking back to Odette. "Ah, well I believe the dangerous nature of the place is well known... However I also believe that those who work and visit here know this, and so have ways to protect themselves and others... I would think that master Darius will be fine." He finished with a smile.

"But do forgive me-" He bowed his head. "-I have lost my manners; My name is Miles Roux... It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss."

Miles Roux smiled gently across at the woman, dipping his head into a bow. "It is a pleasure, Lady Odette... And it is pronounced like..." He trailed off for a moment, pondering how best to explain. "The word 'row'. It is French, Lady Odette." Again, he dipped his head into a small bow.

"Might I ask, Lady... How are you finding the wine?" He smiled somewhat nervously. "I am inexperienced with the vintages in the area, and so I am somewhat limited from making a good judgement on the best ones... I hope it is to your liking?"

Miles Roux 's features changed to a look of relief that he had made a good choice; pleasing the customer was a source of great happiness for the young man and he was very pleased that he had done so. He was largely unaware of the woman's glance to his features as he was looking downward upon his gloved hands, sliding the black fabric from them and tucking the gloves neatly into his shirt pocket.

"I am glad that you like it, Lady. I try to please those I work for." He said with a gracious smile.

There was a series of small bangs from the kitchen, ranging in volume; some sounds akin to spoons and cutlery clattering to the floor, others sounding like large pans echoing loudly. Silence would then follow for a moment before footsteps carried Miles from the room, his hands smoothing down the front of his fine black shirt before he held his hands behind his back in the fashion of a servant.

"Alright... Could someone kindly explain... Why things have been changed in the kitchen?" He arched a slender dark eyebrow, shocking blue eyes scanning the room before he saw no one visible as part of the workforce. That being the case he simply sighed and turned sharply on his heel, intent on tidying the kitchen to his ludicrous cleanliness standards.

He would be in there for quite some time before emerging again, a polite smile on his features as he placed on his 'work face' and moved briskly to stand behind the bar, taking up his role as the current bartender.

Miles Roux gazed across at the quiet bar with a small sigh, taking up a glass and turning to the sink behind the counter, deciding to make his time worth something, since no one seemed to desire a drink. Strange; the young man always assumed the bar to be a place where people went to drink... But far from him to question the ways of the world.

He then removed a series of coins from his breast pocket and deposited them safely into the cashier before pouring a slight amount of simple lemon juice into the recently washed glass; just because he worked here, did not mean he had to pay... At least in Miles' book.

"Tis oddly quiet today..." He mused, lifting a slender fingertip to run idly over one of the strange blue marking upon his cheeks in a thoughtful manner.

The tender paused in his sipping of his beverage in order to see to his customer. He stepped downwards her and gave the small woman a deep and polite bow, waving a hand at the many drinks on display. "Good day, my Lady. What can I get for you?" He asked clearly yet quietly so as not to intrude upon her personal space; the woman looked rather... skittish to say the least.

Miles Roux nodded simply to the woman, tilting his head towards the... gopher in order to indicate he would be with him shortly. The done he replied to the young woman; "Ah, yes indeed My Lady, please just a moment." he turned smartly and reached for a glass, pouring the water smoothly into it before placing it on the counter in front of Meike, bowing his head simply. "I hope you enjoy your drink, my Lady."

He then looked to Sunny, again with his usual polite smile. "What can I get for you, Sir?" Just because this was a gopher... He was still a customer. Lord knows stranger things had happened here. He added smoothly in a calm tone. "Kindly do not glare at the other customers; it creates a bad atmosphere, I’m sure you understands, Sir..."

Since the gopher had not replied, Miles assumed his services were not required, and after a brief glance about the room, noting that no other desired a drink, he allowed himself to indulge in conversation. Usually the bar was so busy he never got the chance to do so, after all.

He stepped back to Meike and tilted his head to one side, strands of black, almost blue hair drifting slightly over his angular features. "Not at all, my Lady. Every customer is of equal value. Your loyalty to the bar is more than enough." He smile brightly and bowed smartly once again, hands moving in order to fiddle with the tie he wore, ensuring it was perfectly positioned.

"Also, if you will forgive me for saying this; you are the customer, and I a member of bar staff. I am here in order o serve you and so 'my Lady' is appropriate... However if it offends I would be happy to call you something that would make you more comfortable...?"

The tender sighed heavily as the gopher continued his glaring, shooting him a brief disapproving glance. He then noted another customer and so walked briskly to the Assassin, bowing politely once he reached him. "Good day. What can I get for you today, Sir?" He asked clearly.

Miles Roux lifted an eyebrow, feeling slightly offended that the drinks on offer were refused, however he could understand the suspicion assassin's would carry about with them; it came with the trade, he supposed. That being the case he merely nodded, placing an empty glass before the man, just in case. "Well then I would ask that you simply keep your blade sheathed, or else take matters outside... Otherwise please, enjoy your time here." He then bowed his head and moved back to Meike and Sunny, addressing the latter.

"Sir, as I said before; politeness is a trait valued by myself. And should you continue to show such blatant rudeness I shall not be serving you." He nodded then looked to the woman with a small smile, dipping his head into a slightly bow. "Whoever comes here is a customer and I the server; that does not change according to social status... However you compliment is appreciated; thank you, my Lady."

Miles Roux swiftly moved to gather up a wine glass, pouring the desired drink carefully into a glass and placing it before Mizuki with a polite bow of the head. "Please enjoy your drink, my Lady." He said smartly before returning to his current conversation partner.

The young man blinked down at the woman for several moments, allowing his shocking sapphire eyes to glance up and down the bar to check for any pending customers and, upon finding none he dipped his head into a deep bow, sweeping his right hand across his chest. "My name is Miles, my Lady. Miles Roux." He then straightened up, his posture returning to its dignified and refined poise. He would not ask her name; to do such a thing would be improper for one who was in his position.

Upon consideration, he recalled another finding his last name difficult to pronounce, and so he added, "To elaborate; Roux is pronounced much like the word 'row'... My apologies."

Miles Roux smiled slightly and bowed his head. "Ah, my thanks; I am quite fond of it also..." He the blinked slowly as her name was given, making a point to tuck the information away in his memory, nodding his head at the introduction. "Indeed, not at all close... It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mieke."

He then made a small thoughtful sound as she spoke of having no last name; this stuck him as somewhat odd, however the tender would not comment. Once again, it was not his place to ask... His friends often called him difficult to get along with because he was always so subdued, however the young man managed somehow.

Shaking himself from his thoughts, Miles gestured to the glass that was in front of his companion. "Would you care for a refill, my lady?" Simply because he knew the name didn't mean he would use it; he was still in his professional persona and it was likely until his shift came to an end, he would remain as such.

A small and slight chuckle came from the young man at the woman's first words, shaking his head slowly and lifting a gentle hand in order to hopefully silence her. "Please, my Lady; Names tend to be unimportant in the grand scheme of things... Pretty but unless earned they are somewhat useless. However your compliment is again appreciated." He then paused at her next words, smiling slightly. "And no, not at all did it come out wrong... I shall see to you drink."

He then looked briefly to Beltane, dipping his head in a bow as he moved to gather the two drinks, taking first the red wine and then the water, placing them each before the respected patron. He then turned to Danica, making his way briskly to the customer and bowing deeply. "Good day, my Lady... What may I get for you today?"

Miles Roux mad moved to retrieve her order when he paused at her stutter, an expression of polite curiosity upon his features as he waited patiently, eventually smiling and nodding as it was finally made, for the brief moment failing to notice his name tagged on the end of the order. "Right away, my Lady." He said smartly before turning the pour the juice and it was then that he realized, and upon turning back with the drink in hand his brow was slightly furrowed.

"Your drink, my Lady..." He said quietly, head tilting to one side. "Pardon me but... I... Do not believe we have met before... I am terribly sorry if I forgot your name, however - I assure you I mean no offence." He frowned, hoping that he hadn't forgotten a face; he somewhat prided himself on his good memory after all.

He turned to give a brief smile to Meike, indicating that he was sorry, but this woman knowing his name was worrying to him, especially if they had not met.

It took a great deal of willpower for the overly clean Miles to not recoil at such a display of drink-spilling. However he contained himself and merely cleared his throat rather loudly, the slight hardening on his lips being the only sign that he disapproved and he offered the woman a rather large handkerchief, holding it at the very tips of his fingers; Mile Roux did not get dirty.

"A pleasure to meet you then..." He said quietly, head tilting to one side as he lifted an eyebrow. This woman was... Something of a terrible liar, and had Miles not been a man of complete politeness he would have certainly asked more, however as it was, he simply nodded. "Ah... I see... A private investigator..." He mused to himself, being unable to resist a slight question; "I am being investigated? Surely that information should have... Been kept silent?" His expression showed that he didn't believe a word of what was said, however if she maintained her terrible facade, he would simply bow and accept it.

Miles Roux blinked slowly down at the woman, the corners of his lips tugging upward slightly as his willpower to remain polite was truly tested; it was terribly difficult to laugh at such a bizarre face as the one she looked up at him with. Instead he cleared his throat and took a small and careful sip of his lemon juice (paid for, of course) if only to distract himself.

"Pardon me?" He asked quietly, lifting a hand in order to flit to the back of the bar and retrieve a glass of beer, placing it before Xenix. He was a tender after all. He then looked towards Dianca, then to the nearby clock on the wall. "I am afraid I cannot leave my post quite yet; I have ten more minutes at the counter, you see."

Miles Roux looked rather surprised at the sudden shift in the woman's aura; though he couldn't sense such things, one always got a certain 'feel' from someone when they were deadly serious. The young man's of features changed into an expression of curiosity and pure sincerity as he nodded upon hearing her words, a small smile gracing his lips once she finished; clearly he was either not intimidated or concerned... Or both.

"My Lady, you have my word I shall not tell a single soul." He said, placing a hand to his chest as he bowed his head, lowering his tone in order to protect her privacy as he spoke again. "However... I believe that 'paranormal' activity happens frequently around the area; it is, ironically the norm about these parts, is it not?" He tilted his head to one side then, sipping at his juice before adding in a curious tone;

"It is very odd however, that you knew my name... Hmm..." He closed his eyes in thought for a moment before opening them, and nodding. "Perhaps..." He tapped a finger gently upon the counter, droplets of moisture gathering at the contact, creating a tiny pool of water. "This has something to do with it?" He arched an eyebrow; it wasn't uncommon for people to sense those with unnatural abilities, after all.

Miles Roux made a small sound of acknowledgement at her assessment of himself, a smile finally finding its way to his lips as she was indeed correct in all three of her assumptions. "Indeed, my Lady... You have summed me up quite well in but a moment." He chuckled, albeit very quietly and pushed aside his curiosity regarding her brother; family was often very personal and so it would not be right to pry, especially when the subject was so swiftly changed.

"Might I ask, however... Why you are here? As we agree, paranormal activity occurs almost none-stop and so it is not generally seen as an issue..." He paused, running a finger idly across one of the strange blue markings upon his cheeks. "Ah, do forgive me if I am asking too many questions. I will stop if you'd like."
