Nid'Ridras

The man seems to be fairly attractive and normal. Oh well.

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Order Knight

Description

Image

The man by the name of Nid'ridras, as he is simply known, appears to be your average lower class nobleman. He goes by Nid at times, though prefers his whole name be used. His age would appear to be roughly in his mid twenties, though he seldom speaks of it, simply claiming that he is likely much older than people expect.

He is Human, for all intensive purposes, likely from one of the Western Kingdoms of mankind, based on his skin coloration and accent, which would be described as vaguely Scottish, by the locals. He does not speak of his parents, though they are reportedly of high prestige among some nobles or other.

His hair is long and black, being just past his shoulders. Interestingly, it's soft to the touch being stroked through, but, if rubbed the wrong way, would feel coarse and rough. The hair on the rest of his body was much the same- though he had considerably less in most other places, it held the same properties. The eyes of the man were a striking shade of red, deep and vibrant, contrasting the normal black pupils and white sclera. Occasionally, his pupils might dilate or change briefly into slits, but this is not a normal occurrence.

Nid'Ridras' body could be considered a medium build. He is six-foot-two, and roughly two hundred pounds. He has a fair bit of muscle mass, but his strong suit is his ability to move, which is fairly quick for his size. Most of his height comes from his legs, and as a result that is where much of his strength is. He excels in hand to hand combat however, proving that strength is not entirely deciding in a fight. The voice that this man has would be called soothing, by most. It is soft, yet deep, his pronunciation smooth and light, pronouncing even hard letters with a flowing dexterity of the tongue.

Beneath his clothing, he has a few tattoos here and there on his body- wings on the backs of his legs, flames on his back, and a long string of archaic letters on his right arm. He has no visible scars, as of yet.

The true form of Nid'Ridras is that of a "Tharoone Virianrath" or Deeps Dragon. Deeps Dragons are most commonly known to reside, naturally, far beneath the crust of the earth. Due to the nature of the caverns that they live in, their forms tend to grow or shrink depending on how much room they need, or how much food is readily available. The more gluttonous they can afford to be and the more room there is, the larger a Deeps Dragon is likely to be. Nid'Ridras generally takes a nearly humanoid size- being ten feet tall, by comparison to some of the larger ones. The transformation process is of course very painful, and so it is seldom taken lightly.

In his Draconic form, he is covered in armor-like black scales, which reflect light- and most magic, naturally. His body likewise has a number of bony horns sticking out here and there, making him generally dangerous to touch. Similar to his hair in human form, the scales are very smooth to the touch rubbing down- going up is likely to shed some skin.

One ability that he uses now and again is to take only partial aspects of his Dragon form- scaled skin, talons for fingers, wings- whatever he pleases. Maintaining these in a humanoid form takes extreme effort however, and so he usually goes all or nothing.

So begins...

Nid'Ridras did not usually take kindly to being growled at, even if it did sound more like a drowning cat. All the same, his dark eyes were fixated on the dead woman, for once she had turned the former eyes on him, he knew he was going to speak to it. Standing, Nid'ridras makes his way towards the zombie woman while ignoring the second outburst of the Demon Lord.

As he came closer the smell would grow of course, which only heightened his unease at the presence of whatever this woman happened to be. At the same time, it still served to make his stomach growl angrily, and considering he hadn't eaten in some time it might not be a bad snack even if she was rather lacking for intact flesh. Still, a thought. Standing next to the woman, Nid'Ridras eyes her curiously before clearing his throat. "Greetings," he says in a flowing, deep tone, though one that was audibly marred by the caution he was regarding the woman with.

Nid'Ridras looked at the hand for a moment, masking the disgust extremely well all things considered. He was nothing if not a gentleman though, so assuming her intent he takes the offered hand and shakes it mildly, thankful for the gauntlet that covered his own. "You have drawn my curiosities M'lady," he utters with as much grace as he can. The disgust was subsiding, but one incredibly perceptive individual might be able to detect the subtle notes on his face that suggested his displeasure.

"I am Nid'Ridras," he goes on graciously, bowing his head partially. The normal kissing of the hand went unheeded this time, and he locked his eyes on the drooping optical that he could see catching a glimpse of himself as well. He was, frankly, unsettled, having never particularly enjoyed the company of undead... but at least this one could talk.

Nid'Ridras steps through the entryway of the bar, a satisfied grin on his face. Nid'Ridras was looking as he normally did, which was to say like a minor noble with a penchant for the color red. His cloak was a bright red over the black chain-mail armor he wore, with the only particularly unnerving thing about his attire being the talon-like metal claws on his right hand.

Rather than stand in the doorway all night, the man makes his way towards a booth on one side of the room near the counter, lounging himself comfortably across the seating. If he had a mind to drink tonight, he hadn't shown the intent yet.

Nid'Ridras appeared to be largely indifferent to the attention he was garnering; it wasn't altogether unknown, after all. Either way he decided to grace the attention with a returned look, raising his brow at the woman as if questioning her motives or daring her closer.

Of course, under normal circumstances he'd be much the gentleman, up and introducing himself and all that, but he'd just eaten and was feeling quite lazy. So, all things considered, he simply lounges back and clears his throat a little, staring back at the woman. Curiously, his deep red eyes might seem entrancing if they were to be locked onto, but that was beside the point.

Nid'Ridras laughs a little bit at the brazen approach of the woman, at least courteous enough to sit back up and appraise her. "Good to meet you, Serina," he replies in a deep silken voice. It bore a similar intoxicating effect as that of his eyes. "You may call me Nid'Ridras. Take a seat if it suits your fancy," he goes on, gesturing idly to the bench across from him.

Nid'Ridras watches as the woman sits across from him, obviously entranced by his natural mechanisms. It was really quite fortunate he wasn't hungry at the moment, really. All the same he could entertain himself with the happening. "I'm sure," he decides with a light grin. "What brings you here, I wonder? Just a bit of drink," he wonders aloud.

His attention was at that point diverted to the appearance of another woman, a silver-haired Elf that bore a curious aura that seemed awfully familiar to Nid'Ridras. And something was rather obviously troubling her, if his eyes did not lie. Ah, if he was not in such a lazy mood, the fun he could have this night. Following the Elven woman was a strange thing unfamiliar to Nid'ridras, and followed quickly by what appeared to be a young man. He felt an urge to swat the thing, but maybe it would be more amusing to watch the boy chasing it down.

"For myself, I am simply here to relax," he adds off-handedly, assuming that she would probably ask him that.

"You don't know strong if that's what you chose," Nid'Ridras says with a bit of a sideways smirk, gesturing to the hard lemonade. His gaze was still flitting about between the three new entries, though judging by his speech he was still very much paying attention to the company at his table. All the same, he was still quite obviously just lazing about digesting whatever meal he'd eaten earlier.

He wouldn't have admitted it, and his expression and body language told no signs, but he felt somewhat annoyed at his gaze on the Elf being utterly ignored. In contrast to the other young girl who he had but to glance at and get her full company, it felt almost insulting. And worse yet, she had denied him his potential source of entertainment, capturing the small creature for the boy. Ah, how droll.

Nid'Ridras shrugs somewhat, again turning his intoxicating gaze on the girl. "Truth be told there is not much to tell that might interest one such as yourself. I am a lesser nobleman of the old Thronkrook Kingdom, and I have seen fit to wander where I please in search of new things in life." It was a rather brief summary of his life, though one that left out an absurd amount of details were anyone to actually know him. Fortunately, such was not the case.

"Besides that I am a Swordsman." To prove his point, he grabs the hilt of his longsword, conveniently hanging from his belt and just off the bench he was lounging on, and draws it up to the middle of the blade. It was a rather well made looking piece of equipment, with draconic runes engraved here and there on the blade, along with a more obvious silhouette of a dragon drifting from the hilt down. After allowing the woman a bit of a glance, he sheaths his blade once again.

His brief period of showing off was interrupted by the small creature breaking out of its imprisonment and hovering above his head. He wouldn't have paid it much mind had the boy not leapt onto his table (probably spilling his company's drink), then jumped off it to catch the small creature, making quite a ruckus as he landed on another. Turning his gaze fully on the young man, he scowls somewhat. "You know, you probably could have avoided all that with a net," he adds with something of a mocking tone. Sitting up more fully, he did find himself somewhat curious about the thing the boy had caught all the same.

Nid'Ridras had taken good note of the brief eye contact with the Elf, and the effect it seemed to have on her. Now that she'd actually paid some attention to him, he felt the self-assured, smug grin slowly asserting itself onto his face once again. Ah, yes. He could certainly stand a conversation with that one, especially considering the curious familiarity he was picking up. He would leave that for later though.

As the Elf passed him, either inadvertently or otherwise brushing her cloak against his shoulder, Nid'Ridras glances back towards Serina. "An Angel and a Demon? That sounds rather unholy," he says with a slight joke to his tone.

Nid'Ridras laughs somewhat, looking back towards the unfortunately resolved conflict between the man and his slime-thing. "I think you got more of your father's side," he decides, his tone belying it as maybe less than a compliment. Seeing as his company for the night had rather abruptly decided to depart, Nid'Ridras shrugs and decides to pay his full attention towards the young man and the Elf.

Nid'Ridras had to admit to being curious about the little slimeball looking things, as much as he didn't really care about utilizing powers other than his own. All the same, he could think of more ways than one that he might use such things... two, in fact. Nid'Ridras was being careful about the Elf, only looking to meet her occasional glances about half the time, feigning a sort of indifferent curiosity rather than the interested familiarity he really felt. All the same, he was peering between her and the boy's Henkis, occasionally glancing towards a quiet figure off at the bar who seemed to be busying herself by taking notes.

Nid'Ridras masked his surprise well as the woman rather casually sat herself down at the table next to his, and then proceeded to bluntly ask who he was. "Well, aren't you forward," he asks with a deep, rich voice that might make one think of fresh chocolate. "Since you have asked, I am Nid'Ridras." In addition to the introduction, he bows his head illustriously and, were he not in such a lazy mood, probably would have taken the woman's hand and kissed it as well.

"And might I ask for your name as well," he continues, tilting his head in slight curiosity, wearing a faint smile on his lips. Still aware of the others, and not wanting to appear overly interested, he looks back to the boy, who had rather abruptly started shaking his jar. He would have asked what was going on with that, but he seemed to lose interest in them and wander off to speak with the other woman. Well, that did leave him to give his full attention just to the elf it seemed.

Nid'Ridras was still feeling rather lazy, so for the time being they'd be safe from eachothers clutches. "A pleasure, Lumierre," he intones as he raises his head to meet her gaze once again. His face bore that smirk once again, something like he was so sure of himself about something unplaceable. "How have I been forward, as a point of curiosity," he goes on, leaning back in his chair more. Now that they'd firmly locked eyes, he wasn't planning to break that link until he found the source of the familiarity he felt.

Nid'Ridras puts a grin on his face and laughs deeply, mimicking a burbling spring in the cool softness of the tone. "But of course. You're an Elf, renowned the world over for being attractive, eternally young, and not to mention sweet." Tilting his head back somewhat, he shrugs lightly, though raises his arms as if confused. "What healthy young man could resist such a charming prospect?"

"Not to mention," he goes on, "You have something curious about you. I cannot place my finger to it... though you're certainly of the more than slightly magical persuasion, judging by what you've exhibited so far," he decides. All this time, his eyes had been locked onto Lumierre's, as if attempting to probe the very depths of her soul- and if she paid enough attention to his voice, it might become the only thing she could really pay much attention to. It was part of why he chose now to ramble on as he did.

Nid'Ridras openly laughs at this comment, deciding to pay less attention to the tone and more to the content of what she had said to him. After calming himself down (and impressively still maintaining eye contact) he replies, "Oh, well of course I am. I also happen to be a skilled, charming, interesting and rather attractive young man." After a few more little chuckles he goes on in a more serious tone, though still one that seemed to have a drawing effect to it.

"But you are right, I am more than all that. I also happen to be observant and clever in my own right, when the need comes to me." With that, he stretches himself out a bit, covering his mouth to stifle a yawn. "But where are my manners... perhaps you would care for a drink, or something to eat? As a gentleman, it is my treat."

Nid'Ridras masked his irritation at the intrusion well, smiling amiably up at the busty broad and bowing his head kindly. "A pleasure," he replies to the introductions. If that didn't just ruin his mood, nothing did! All the same, he could still work things to his advantage. "Not hungry then? Very well, 'tis for the best, as I've eaten recently too and didn't fancy the idea of gorging myself." At least the sudden entrance was a good enough excuse not to go on about himself. And, he had some satisfaction in the fact that the Elf had first broken eye contact, which was always a submissive gesture in his mind.

Nid'Ridras seemed rather amused more than offended at the invasion of his privacy, more at the fact that the woman seemed to think he was attractive. It was rather something of a compliment, he thought, even if it was from a human. All the same, he felt like his presence would best be elsewhere at this time, and so he was about to excuse himself before the small dragon was brought in. Even as controlled as he was, he couldn't prevent his eyes from widening as he looked at it... and deciding he should stay for just a little while longer. "Friend of yours," Nid'Ridras asks aloud, mostly to Lumierre, who was acting quite affectionate with the hatchling. It was starting to come together, he thought.

Nid'Ridras drifts his eyes from the small Dragon back to the woman introduced as Avia, simply smiling in response. "I was not payed anything, though I am honored you think my company would be worth it. She simply approached me, despite the fact I already had a woman in my company- she promptly departed of course. Quite brazen, your friend," he adds, grinning out the side of his mouth at Lumierre.

And then the truth came out, perhaps inadvertently, as he finally got the connection. It was rather obvious to him now, with the familiarity and the woman's instinct towards the young drake. With that little mystery solved for himself, he stands up and clears his throat. "But either way, I must be headed off for the night. Ladies," he bows deeply to both of them, still wearing a rather pleased grin.

Nid'Ridras happened to be perched atop one of the pillars that day, having apparently scaled it somehow to sit and observe the surrounding area more easily. What such a dignified noble was doing in the ruins of an old monastery one could only guess, but there he was, in all of his red-cloaked glory.

The man seemed deep in thought when he noticed movement somewhere below him- not the trickery of the shadows or the flashing movement of a small animal, but something large enough to be considered humanoid. Flicking his red-tinted gaze downward, he settles his eyes on the form of an Elf, a familiar elf in more ways than one. Ah, and he remembered why.

Rather than introduce himself, he decided to wait for a moment, standing up on the pillar and seeing if she might notice him as well- if not he might have a bit of fun with this venture.

Nid'Ridras had a light grin on his face, which from below might be thought of as a twisted expression of some sort. Nevertheless, he was amused at having been spotted, and so he jumps from the pillar to land a few feet in front of the Elf. Curiously, he made very little noise as he landed, nothing more than the 'paff' of the dirt as if someone had taken a harder step than usual.

Turning around and bowing elegantly in one motion, Nid'Ridras fixes his gaze once again on the eyes of the woman. "Greetings," he says simply, using that same alluring voice which, combined with his eyes, had drawn in more than one poor fool.
