Safen Aequitas

A soldier who is caught up in circumstances beyond his understanding.

0 · 51 views · located in The Infinite Void

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by peerless

Description

Basic
Name: Safen Aequitas

Race: Human

Age: 38

Birthplace: Al'khazar Aegis

Alignment: Neutral Good

Class: Soldier

Sub-Class: Assassin

Occupation: None

Elements: None

Weapon:

Steel Dagger: size --12 inches, seven inch blade length, five inches handle width.

Diamond Blade: size --48 inches, twenty-eight inch blade length, eight inch handle length --blade tip smoothed into a v-shaped crescent that is thinner then a razor blade. Despite the blade being favored to impaling as opposed to cutting, the left side has the ability to slash due to a slightly curved edge forged from immense fire and allowed to cool independent of outside elements.

Iselyr Compound Bow Length 233 centimeters, made of a wood comparable to tarred bamboo making it more flexible due to added bamboo tightened together to give it greater range.

Arrow length: 100–105 cm, numbering in 20 individual arrows tipped with obsidian shale giving them a strong yet light edge in combat.

Armor: Noble Vestment --black and blue attire that befits a noble from a distant land --complete with a hood as well as gloves. Surprisingly enough the wearer is sturdier then normal cloth and weighs a surprising amount. These garbs are finely measured for those who come from noble house-holds, and have the feature of making movements silent -unlike normal woven materials. Each layer is woven together to form a tight fitting lattice of material. It was more or less designed to give the wearer added mobility, under the protection of malachite-mail --then worn as a stand-alone garb. Although by itself the material has the ability to muffle the users movements --most likely to give an edge of stealth to nobles.

Leather Braces, and gauntlet coated with black tar, and cured in the sun with overlapping rivets.

Personal

Hair: Black

Eyes: Red

Skin: Tanned surface

Body: Well matured, probably at the height of his physical peak.

Height: 5'11

Weight: 152 ib's

Abilities:

Fury of Combat: When in combat this ability works in a way to measure movement and attack in a balanced fashion. While some are eager to move in an over-compensating fashion to strike. There is no need to over-react in such a way as to drop all defense. The goal of each fight is to kill, rather than fight. In a dogmatic scope the discipline applies to a pliant circumstance of killing, to defend life. Reaction times with the feat of caution occur in tandem with rhythm of all opponents.Actions by any or all opponents occur at the base speed, or at the speed of the opponent. If preped the speed occurs at a rate faster than the opponents attack. The act of moving, attacking, and countering, are covered in the scope of this discipline. In this sequence the caution precludes in failure from action being taken by all opponents. Passive; Prep

--The dexterity of someone who is conditioned to work in heavy armor; with the added advantage of working in night-fall and stealth environments.

Dark-Vision: `10 feet, this comes from long term night fighting that he has grown accustomed to, though it is more akin to feeling out the night and listening.

Immune: Paralytic Agents, Poisons, --he has built up a surprising immunity to poisons of varying kinds throughout the years. In as much he can cure himself through the mixing of antidotes from local flora and fauna, if he knows enough about the plant-life of the local area enough to do so.

Personality

Safen can be described as a soldier who for all intents and purposes has seen the fields of combat, sometimes he can come off as cold, calculating, and rough-around-the-edges. As any man who had served in war can attest to, but deep down inside he is a courteous man who has the capacity for love. Though he is very slow to show such feelings toward anyone, he's quick to learn new things and can easily accept people for who they are. Though he does have an argumentative side to him that can and will get him in trouble, if the situation calls for his judgement. It can also be said that throughout the years he developed an independence complex meaning he will not act in a way that subdues his position in the world, nor will he ever allow others assert themselves for him. He prefers to be isolated at times rarely ever taking risks unless he can calculate a gamble in his favor. For the most part Safen values conservative values, while keeping a liberal outlook in educating himself with different ideas and social paradigms.

Safen Aequitas awoke in a grove near the tavern his deep-red eyes opening with a tad bit of haze. The sun glaring down at him causing him to put his gloved hand over his eye to shade them as he adjusted to the light. Safen would breath a yawn as he slowly pushed himself up. His right hand checked his sword in its scabbard, finding comfort in having his sword with him. He'd look around seeing a small pond of fresh water nearby, as he thought with a vacant expression, "Where am I, and how did I get here?"

Safen Aequitas pushed himself to his feet, as his eyes took in the environment -his eyes never settling down on one thing at once. Safen quickly saw his bow, quiver, and travel-pack propped against a tree thankful that no one stole his items. Walking over to them he pulled his bow, and backpack to his person, and stared in no particular direction. He wondered about an establishment that could give him information about this place. Safen shrugged and walked, looking around for a dirt road, or trail that could lead him somewhere.

walks for about a good half hour in observance of the sights and sounds of the area. From this Safen deduces a few things, the land here is beautiful, and a lot like his home-world, thankful the world here is isolated around here. Safen eventually comes across a tavern ahead of him at the end of the stretch of dirt-road from the forest. Safen walked in and took a look around surprised to see a nice-sized crowd around here. Walking to the counter he took a seat and listened to the conversations of the patrons, glancing out the window to his right. As if he were oblivious to the people talking.

glanced at Evrir for a second as she announced in a matter-of-fact manner that she wasn't human. As he looked away wondering whatever could look human, but not be Safen found himself wondering where he was, if not in a dream. His left hand rubbed the back of his head as he listened to the conversations, reflecting on their words. Safen came to the conclusion that he'd have to learn about this world carefully so as not to give himself away as a nobody. Breathing a sigh he looked around for a bar-tender in hopes of getting some tea for the remainder of his stay here.

was at a loss to understand what they were actually talking about among themselves. He didn't actually know about the kinds of things they spoke of, because he was from a time and place that didn't have modern convenience. Looking down at the counter he shook his head at a loss, it dawned on him that he was antiquated here. Therefore he'd have to learn a lot of new things and remember. Safen wondered just how much he'd have to learn in order to keep up with the times here. Safen swore to himself he wouldn't give up trying to understanding this new world.

Safen looked up with a frown while inwardly scolding himself in his mind for being distracted. Looking over his shoulder he blinked a few times eyeing the person who might have just spoken to him, "Oh, I am sorry. Is this your seat?"

Safen shook his head, and gestured to the seat with his left hand. "Nope, feel free to take it I am -- well just on my way somewhere." Safen fibbed a bit, careful not to give himself away as alone since that in itself might prove disastrous. He didn't know these people and wasn't quite ready to trust them yet.

Safen looked over to Evrir with a blank expression as the trainer sat down next to him. When asked about where he was going, he simply looked over to the pokemon trainer and shrugged a little. "Far...to the north actually, my friends are waiting for me at least good hundred miles from here. Then he looked to Evrir and shrugged a bit, trying not to come off as uneasy since he wasn't exactly ready for so many questions to be asked. "Sure, I don't mind."

Safen listened to the rhythm of the song, which was completely different than the orchestral types of music he'd heard. Generally it was almost like this was the first time he had ever heard such a thing in his life. Although it was amazing to him the way the music sounded, he didn't understand the instruments that they used. "How are they making that music?" Safen wondered to himself, almost at a loss of how to explain it. Safen tensed up a bit when Evrir sat down, but tried to pass it off as something else. When he rubbed his shoulders pantomiming being cold. Even though the conditions in the tavern were nice.

Safen looked to the Pokemon Trainer a minute wondering what he had decided that very moment. For some reason Safen felt a little paranoid about something he couldn't place. As it was, Safen usually had a suspicious feeling about things he knew he couldn't explain. Although it didn't help much that he was completely out of his element right now. He so very rarely socialized with anyone, it felt like a foreign concept to him now. Abruptly Safen got up and walked away in haste, as he did he lowered his hand to his sword gripping the handle out of security. When he walked outside he broke into a run down the dirt road.

Safen looked down holding himself up into a tree he had quickly climbed up to avoid being seen. His red eyes thinned expecting to be found out, as he carefully perched himself up a sturdy branch. He was careful to breath in through his nose, and quietly out the mouth. At least until he thought the trouble he felt would pass.

After a while, Safen decided it better to stay out of the tavern a while, and figure out what to do next. In the mean time, Safen took it upon himself to just sit tight on top of the roof of the tavern. Thankful that the structure was efficiently build so as to hold someone on top of it. Holding his face up with both hands, he crossed his legs and thought to himself about the situation he was in. At the same time though he felt worried about his own life, out of fear of the unknown.

Safen Aequitas laid back against the roof, with his hands behind his head as he watched the clouds. Right leg propped up against his arched left leg. His mind sought the comfort of silence that it did whenever he was lost, or confused. Though a lot of people saw him as anti-social, he was simply introverted when he needed time alone. It wasn't because people bothered him or scared him, but more because sometimes he took comfort in being by himself. Especially when things didn't make sense to him. Hence his reasons for staying on the roof away from people, which did him some good to think.

sat up abruptly as he listened to something that unsettled him below. How could he not hear, or see the strange occurrence of light, and noise that so suddenly happened? Brushing his nervousness aside he hoped he wouldn't have to resort to anything when he barely understood this world. Though with situation he felt worried for anyone inside the tavern, it was then that his face assumed the mask of a killer. He hated it, hated to embrace it, hated to become it, but couldn't set himself at ease when that happened. Pulling his bow off his back, he notched an arrow, jumping off the roof, and landing into a barrel-roll, Safen jumped to his feet, letting him the fury of battle take him. Running to the door, he kicked it open, as he notched an arrow. Not knowing what was going on, or even if he'd understand the situation. When he looked at the Gyrados in the eyes, his eyes thinned as he met the target. In less than a breath he notched an arrow, and shot it holding the bow over his chest -level with the Gyrados.

Safen Aequitas stood in front of an electronics store starring in front of the television, after wandering aimlessly. His red eyes stared wide-eyed at what he was seeing, watching a wild-life documentary about sharks, or something. He watched the creatures swim through the ocean as a narrator continued to say something he just didn't hear. Despite watching the creatures in the ocean swimming. He looked absolutely foreign to this world, and wasn't a fit at all. So many things had already happened that he was losing his touch on reality. He was becoming slightly disturbed at the many futuristic objects in this world. It was so much to take in all at once, he didn't know what to think about any of it. His eyes remained glued to the t.v. set with a disturbed expression.

Safen Aequitas walked into the tavern that he was barely becoming acquainted with. His red eyes looked seeing carnage in here as he stopped in his tracks. Safen saw too much destruction, carnage, and malice in these walls. His expression became vacant as he the stress of battle took him back to the fury. That Safen he had once committed to during the wars in his home-world. As soon as his eyes locked on Heller, he became very quiet and disconnected the occurrence of the others.

pulled his compound-bow from his back without blinking even once, the slow serenity focused itself upon his mind. His eyes thinned as a the scowl of a killer manifested, all emotion was cast aside the need, the fury, and the conviction took him into the fury of combat. Safen's reaction times would equalize with any and all in the room as an ominous aura superseded a other emotion, but the need to kill. A human he appeared to be but his life made him something more than he knew, or appeared to others. The bow was leveled over his chest, as an obsidian tipped arrow was leveled pinpointed on his eyes, breath in, breath out in rhythm as the arrow was loosed on Heller. An economy of strategy flooded Safen's mind putting him to the task of achieving the kill in all outcomes.

mind recanted the words as the fury spoke to his mind, "ignore the obstacles, they're shields for the unwary." The ice on the floor was identified as an obstacle of the un-trained. The economy drove him to act faster now, as notched another arrow, firing it in such a way at the ice, the haft recoiled off the ice. Then bounded below the fleshy shield below the angle of his arm, likely to pierce him at the stomach with an obsidian arrowhead. Then Safen pushed his bow behind his back, his right hand gripping the handle of a diamond folded vorpal sword. The soundless unsheathing as the blade was released with the prestige of a heron mark-swordsmen. Using his leather boots to slide across the ice quickly while bending at the knees. A scowl of intent marked his face, as he sought to impale Heller through the ribs in raw impetus.

merely twist the dagger down, at a downward angle, and to try and drive it directly into Silas's back, using the broad-side of his sword to stop the progression of the staff. An audible clink would occur if Silas didn't stay his staff. As Safen used his chest to push Silas's back into the dagger, it would likely paralyze him from the waist down.
