a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by ClockworkTowers

Description

Appearance
Scarlet is relatively average overall, standing about 5'5". She is thin, but seems to work out just enough to keep in shape. She has a black blouse with a red ribbon and a black sailor-style collar, and a black pleated skirt. She wears a fishnet corset underneath her blouse, and has patterned stockings in a stitched design of black and red. She wears gray combat boots with a small metal plate, and long laces. Her black hair is cut short, and has a small hair accessory in a skull clip attached to the right side. Her red eyes give off a sinister look most of the time, and are behind magenta framed glasses that are decorated with four chain links hanging off the left side. On her right arm is a silver snap bracelet that she fiddles with when in a tense moment.

Personality
Scarlet is extremely stubborn, and occasionally, even a bit selfish and boastful. However, her no-nonsense, no holds barred attitude towards playing earns her lots of respect. She refuses to give up, and always sees the positive side in everything, and believes a positive outlook can make achieving anything possible. In games, she is generally an honorable opponent, although she does lose her temper sometimes. She mostly compliments others and playfully taunts her opponents into making mistakes that she can exploit for a victory. She has a dismissive attitude towards relationships of any kind, her stubbornness refusing to give to much, although she would be lying if she said she hadn't taken interest to anyone before.

Scarlet Geiger continued.
You roam the map in search of opponents and items and weapons to kill them with. It doesn't have much in the way of tactics, although many disagree. I'm not that great at it, so I play it for fun in spare time. Not like I have anything else I can do.

Scarlet Geiger nodded.
I can see where you'd get that assessment Ms. I personally don't play them too much, and have fully accepted they are just simulations exaggerated for fun and profit.

Scarlet Geiger had a sinister grin cross her face for a brief moment as she came up with a downright criminal plan for the finals. They were going to run Pattern B with a 1-1-2 layout. The meta standard. The other team had seen their play, counter your opponent. So the other team would surely play a Pattern A with a 2-1-1 layout to counter. So she was certain the meta standard would be best here.

She however, resumed her normal gaze as she drank some more of her soda.
Neverheard of Planetside either. You seriously play all the obscure games. But that's not bad I suppose.

Scarlet Geiger raised an eyebrow.
Divisions? There's only one I thought? Hrm. I'll have to redouble through my information.

Scarlet Geiger nodded.
I see. So you're from another universe then...and you're right here...talking about me...which means I have become popular enough to transcend universal boundaries?

She sank further on the counter.
My head hurts now. I didn't realize I was that popular.

Scarlet Geiger responded.
I don't know. What did the Aschen do? The one I met a few days ago seemed quite friendly.

Scarlet Geiger contemplated the Multiverse idea.
Hrm. I guess that can be the case. So you're on my level them, is what you're saying, only in another universe?

Scarlet Geiger nodded.
I see! So--Oh! Okay, I see. And here I was ready to recommend you to a friend of mine.

Scarlet seemed amiable right now, that's probably attributed to her teammates not being here.

Scarlet Geiger smiled.
It's fine. Although I've really stayed here longer than I intended. Nice meeting you.

She signed her name on a small piece of paper she had with her and handed it to Tiffany before walking off and exiting the bar with a silent wave.

Scarlet Geiger entered the bar yelling at a man who was with her.

No. I said I quit. Therefore, I quit. You guys are terrible at games not called Spades, so you can stick to that. I refuse to continue working with you when you guys cannot perform at a professional level.

The man seemed to try to get her to reconsider.
But you're the face of Neuromancy now! You got us to a championship even! We're nothing without you!

She wasn't having any of it.
Which is exactly why I shouldn't stay! Look, if you guys want me on your team, you need to prove yourselves first. I won't play for a team who can't even practice. So there. You can consider me no longer a member of Neuromancy!

She took off the team's pin she had and shoved it into the man's hands before huffing and walking to the counter, taking a seat as she shrugged him off. He left the bar rather sadly actually.

She did idly observe the other bar events with some scorn, almost ready to bring her brand of positivity to the sad folk.

Scarlet Geiger noticed the youngster who was starting to cry, and stood up. She placed her computer bag on the counter before walking over to him.
You there. Why the waterworks?
she asked, with a bit a scowl no less.

Scarlet Geiger turned her attention to the girl who was a wreck on the floor, and, still scowling, walked over. When she got close, she attempted to kick her, lightly, but a kick to snap her out of it.
YOU! STOP WHINING AND COMPLAINING! You think crying and thinking in a negative manner fixes anything? No, it only makes it worse! Get over yourself and stand up! There are no excuses for pitying yourself. Never. It applies to playing video games, but it also applies to life. You're always worse off when thinking only of negatives, and shunning everything else to focus on those negatives!

Full blown rant.

Scarlet Geiger seemed mostly unfazed. She was too headstrong for that. Her scowl rested firmly on her face as she adjusted her glasses.

Such a pathetic display. Throwing the white flag instead of being tougher and powering through. You think it makes you look any stronger? No, it makes you look like a wimp. A damned wimp who can't face the facts and prefers to run away instead! Throwing a tantrum solves nothing! This whole display solves nothing! So I suggest you snap the hell out of it!

Scarlet Geiger was confronted with a gun. Having been in this situation only once before, she was momentarily at a loss as to how she should respond. Unlike last time, she wasn't being grappled and restrained, and therefore, had options.

She quickly dodged aside towards the counter and retrieved her computer bag, holding it between her and the gun. This was why she invested in the much heavier than normal Telegame SteelSeal computer bag. It had a few bonuses in specs that she was fully intending to make use of.

I don't care what happened to you. It isn't an excuse to throw a tantrum. Period.

Scarlet Geiger had faced a gun once before, and indeed had consequences for it. She didn't let that get to her though unlike this woman. With a huff, she just turned to the counter and ordered herself a can of soda, slinging her computer bag back over her shoulder.

GET DUNKED!

This sudden exclamation, slightly muffled by being outside the bar proper, was followed by a man who was clutching his head stumbling back through the door as he hit the floor.

Entering after him, was a girl who seemed entirely unamused. In her hands was her computer bag, apparently being the device she hit him with.
There is NO touching unless I say so! Are we clear? Or do I need to hit you again?

The man merely tried to stand up during this time, apparently muttering something.
God...such a bitch...I was only admiring your computer bag. Disproportionate retribution I swear!

The girl wrinkled her nose and stuck out her tongue as the man left the bar, rubbing the back of his head. With that, the girl gave the bar a quick scan before approaching an empty table and grabbing a seat there, sighing as she relaxed herself.

Scarlet walked down one of the streets of the Nillies, with a couple of guys flanking her. Punk rock was her style, though her friends were different enough. A truly eccentric trio. "So that friend of yours said this area was good for the nightclubs. Looks pretty run down. Crummy place." She tugged at her blouse while fixing the red ribbon before also dusting off her skirt.

The man to her right answered, running a hand through his silver hair. He was dressed casually, with a simple and effective shirt, jacket, jeans combo. "Well, he did say it was the 'center of culture', so surely something will stand out."

The man to her other side, with his blonde hair, wore an unscrupulous grin, and had a goatee. "Well, we can start with one of the gentleman's clubs around here. Perhaps we can even get Scarlet involved!" He straightened his lanky posture for a moment, sunken eyes gleaming with mischief. He wore a trenchcoat with a shirt and jeans, fully covered. He even had a pretty nice fedora. His straightened posture made it easy to defend himself from the very obvious punch that came his way, Scarlet trying to shove her fist into his cheek.

"Why do you always need to be so sleazy, Roger? This is why we can't take you anywhere!" Scarlet scolded him. Roger pushed her hand away as she relented, causing her to cross her arms. He then replied, "Look, it's a joke, okay? Come on, Miller, help me out!"

Miller buttoned his jacket and sighed. "Look, a regular old nightclub should be fine. We're out here to enjoy the locale, and everything is on my friend, so let's just go to some casual place."

Roger huffed and gave up his idea. "Fine, we'll go to that club over there. That lady going to the entrance is all business-like, so it's probably a good start."

Scarlet smirked. "Sure, why not? Can't be too bad! Let's rock the joint! Maybe she can be a source of information too. There's no reason a 'center of culture' in this city should be a place this crummy."

"Crummy? This is Van Leugen, babygirl. We all crummy when the fog rolls around!" Shouted a nearby man, he was clearly intoxicated and made no effort to hide it as he stumbled towards Scarlet and her friends.

"You going in there?" He asked, jerking a thumb back at the nightclub. "Place sucks, they kicked me out." The drunk man said, "You were pissing in a plant, Justice." The bouncer called out, "I thought it was a urinal." Justice lied.

Charlotte watched from a distance, shaking her head. "I'll go grab him before I leave. Don't need him ruining business." Charlie told the bouncer.

"Y'all look real green. Must be new to VL, let Ol' Justice be your guide. Justice knows this city like the back of his head." The man boasted. He exuded just the right amount confidence to make someone believe he wasn't a shady character. But, Justice was as shady as they came in Van Leugen.

"He's a drunk thief." Charlie said as she approached Justice from behind, gripping his shoulder firmly. "I hope he isn't bothering you three?" Charlie asked, "My chocolate goddess, I assure you, Justice is anything but a bother." Justice said, "Right, babygirl?" He asked Scarlet.

A humanoid figure moves down the street through the dense fog pervading this city. A small humanoid female wanders from pole to pole unsure where exactly the next might be. At least until getting closer to the bar that kept fog more at bay. Under a light Flynn pulls at the face she borrowed from a missing poster as the flesh felt too loose. The scrap of dirty missing poster and some poor male thief's identifying papers went into a trash can. The ritual meant for copying real beings didn't take well to some missing girl's sketch. It took an hour unable to see anything in dark and water before her face felt right. The photo didn't come with anything below the shoulders so now her insides hurt too. Pain came with every move of her burnt throat sustaining the husk with a soft chant.

Having drawn enough attention and noise staying to deal with authorities didn't thrill her. She escaped and found the first thing to give her a cover. Once with a husk powerful thirst moved her instead toward the lit bar near civilization. She looked over one shoulder for a pack now on inside of a husk acquired with haste. No water bottle for now and no way back. Flynn licked her drying mouth unfamiliar with the way it moved. The obvious bar piqued her interest at the thought of getting water on the right side of inside.

Flynn ambled the small human husk up to the bouncer holding her stomach while wincing. Thane is wrapped around her wrist like some thick black cloth. She did try to be nonthreatening as the husk wore plain blue jeans and a maroon shirt. All as clean as her white sneakers though she couldn't help the necessary muttering to herself most all the way there. The loose hand squeezes a wallet splashed with red and ash.

β™ͺCan I buy clean water here?β™ͺ Her hoarse singsong voice asked of the guard then returned to muttering.

Scarlet's first reaction to Justice's approach was a disgusted lean away, followed by a rather angry expression. "Babygirl? He's not bothering yet, but he's really close. I don't think I need to be 'guided' to where you want to 'guide' me, creep!" Scarlet adjusted her glasses with a shaking hand, a shaking born of anger and a resistance to outright socking Justice for his comment.

Miller shrugged and chuckled. "He at least means well! I'll admit that being intoxicated is not the best state to be in when asking to guide strangers around a town, but we are fairly new here, Scarlet. Perhaps getting a tour isn't a bad idea?"

Roger huffed. "Justice is cramping my style. I'm supposed to be the shady one here! Are we just going to ignore that? Anyways, so, 'chocolate goddess'. I'll assume that isn't your name, so, uh, no offense meant, but perhaps you can tell us a bit about this place? A list of gentleman's clubs wouldn't hurt either."

Scarlet huffed derisively. "Roger!" The group didn't seem to yet notice the muttering girl, aside from a momentary glance from Miller who took it in and cut a neutral look.
