"There is danger with knowledge," Talitha stated before she tossed the apple to Xvander, offering him to taste it. If he did, he was going to find it divine in its sweetness, smooth in texture, and filling when it hit his belly.

"You may tell me what you wish for me to know and, in return, I will tell you what I wish for you to know," she said in counteraction to his words. Talitha was a smart woman and clever, twisting words and consequences to her desires.

The Promethean looked down at her sling and began to unwrap it from her shoulder and torso. For a human, it would be all too soon, but for a Promethean, there would only be lingering bruises and soreness.

"I have no desire to be in any other place unless you wish for me to be in another place. This is my home but as was agreed, I have services to render to you in order to revive it," Talitha said while removing the rest of the sling from her body. She moved her shoulder and rolled it with a low grinding sound of bone against bone.

"You also have one free service to be fulfilled for your assistance despite your lack of ... grace," Talitha said before arching a white brow and peering at his silohuette through the darkness.

The Promethean watched Xvander walk around her, casing her abilities, or more so, inspecting her like some exotic animal he had just bought. When he came in front of her, Talitha shot out her hand and placed it on his neck with her thumb resting against his wind pipe. She did not apply pressure but just kept her hand there for unknown reasons.

"Prometheans are chameleon creatures with the ability to mimick anyone we see. There is also a passive ability that is defensive that we may use as a last resort. For most it is uncontrollable without proper schooling but over the years we have come to perfect it. It is difficult to explain without showing it, and to show it my life must be in great danger."

"The best explanation I hold is that I become a mirror to another's mind and they create an image on me, forcing me to appear as a person they most desire to see," Talitha said while her thumb slid over the false flesh.

"But such tales have not been proven true for hundreds of years," the promethean said before dropping her hand.

"I age slower than humans, I heal faster than humans, my senses are more acute than theirs but far more suseptible of being damaged. We are not stronger in physical comparison but marginally faster and more intelligent. The human brain uses less than ten percent of their capacity while Prometheans have evolved to far more than that."

"Psionic," Talitha stated before it was her turn to walk around the man, inspecting every inch of him. Her fingers touched along him as the Promethean studied Xvander.

"Espionage. Stealth. Assassination," she stated, listing off a very short list of abilities but some which were highly valuable.

"Will the clone be a copy of me or will it be free to become its own entity?"

"Being Promethean we are at ever constant war with the Atlanteans, those whom rule the waters while we rule the earth," Talitha explained to Xvander, giving him reason as to why it was her skills laid in the subtle art of killing without being caught.

"That is a long history to tell, however, and I do not desire to do so," the promethean said before coming to a stop before him.

"Fail me in giving me a child, in one way or another, I will make it my personal goal to take whatever I can away from you whether it be your life, your pride, your mate, or whatever else I deem appropriate. You have my word on that, Xvander. I do not play games."

If there was surprise or, even, fear felt in Talitha, she did not show even a hint towards such emotions. Her face was nothing more than a blank slate, stoic and emotionless. When Xvander drew the leaf against her pale flesh, the Promethean blinked languishly. Once.

"Run your tests when you please, Xvander, but for tonight I aim to rest. I am still healing from your eagerness to aid without proper knowledge. Were it not that you broke my shoulder into a shattered ruin, I would allow you to have your tests tonight. But that is not the case, now, is it," Talitha said before walking toward him. It seemed that she was not going to step aside but merely walk into him and yet at the last second Talitha side-stepped Xvander, brushing their shoulders together.

"We shall see," was all the Promethean said while moving toward the gate leading out to the street and away from the ruined home.

There was a hesitation in her step and Talitha came to a stop for a moment, looking at him. The sea. There was an amazing amount of fear for any large body of water for Prometheans and it showed on her face.

"Your complex will not be acceptable. Find another place, Xvander, or lose me. I will go no where near the ocean, or lake, or any river," Talitha stated while standing there, unrelenting to give into him or his desires.

It would not happen. She would not go there.

"Journey home safe. I would hate to lose my child prematurely," Talitha said, though it was lost in the roar of the engine. Her ears rang and she turned on heel to be away from the cacophanous sound, leaving to the manor.

A red door opened and then it closed.

Talitha Borealis stepped out from an alley hidden cleverly in shadow. The promethean was ghostly in appearance as she stood there, before Xvander, without emotion on her face. "It seems you have failed to recruit a new employee," Talitha stated before looking down toward the other female.

"Strange that you, of all people, are looking for people with souls." Talitha looked at Xvander for a moment before falling into step beside him. "You are wasting my time. You are not researching what needs to be done. I find myself disappointed in you."

Talitha Borealis glanced over to Xvander and said, "A year in this city is far too long. I am impatient. My bloodline will be restored one way or another, Xvander. Do not expect me to wait so long. Take more samples, take whatever you need from my body. Find a way."

Talitha stepped in front of Xvander, forcing him to stop unless the man stepped around the promethean.

Talitha Borealis tilted her head when the tone of his voice had changed towards her. Her expression was still unreadable as she stared directly into Xvander's eyes. "A world filled with promethean blood. Is that not what I wished in the first place. Take care what you say, Xvander. Do not put ideas into my head. You will not like the results."

Talitha took a step to the side and raised her chin. "Mind your place, Xvander."

Talitha Borealis called after Xvander, "You repeat yourself over and over again as if you're attempting to convince yourself and not others. What is your real goal, Xvander? You will not be able to keep your secrets for long. I've already discovered the most important one."

"I am not the only one that is all alone in this world. I can smell it on you. It's all too familiar for someone like me. I am right, aren't I, Xvander?"

Talitha Borealis smiled as he hissed his words at her. It made the corners of her eyes crinkle as if highly amused. Her hand rose and she ran two finger tips down the man's lips while leaning in close to his face. The Promethean's breath washed over his mouth as she spoke.

"I do not care about them. They mean nothing to me. They are there and you are here. That is all that matters," Talitha said before dropping her hand down at her side, waiting to see what he would do next.

"Stop pretending to be something that you are not, Xvander. Many great beings have fallen because of it."

Talitha Borealis looked up through her white lashes to peer into his eyes. The smile still remained around him. "Just trying to get to know you more, Xvander," was all that the promethean said before she asked, "Do you mind releasing my hand? I have places to be tonight."

Talitha Borealis stepped away from Xvander and said, "Getting rid of me already, I see. Very interesting." The Promethean walked around him as she had the night before. She came to his ear and whispered to him in an alluring voice. "Don't fight your urges. You'll find indulging in them is far more rewarding," Talitha cooed before her warmth was gone. If and when Xvander turned around, she would appear to be gone.

Further down the alley way was a stooped old woman, homeless and dirty, pushing a broken cart while muttering nonsense words.

A new face entered the Verinotte Hall. It was a woman dressed in alien yet elegant clothing. The cloth glittered and shimmered with every graceful step across the floor. The way the woman moved gave hint to her pedigree, or perhaps it was the cold way in which her pale eyes passed over those whom were present.

Talitha came stood beneath the mocking clock and looked up at it. She tilted her head and wondered curiously for a short moment. It was far more fascinating than the man who sat upon a throne like chair, perching like some peacock.

Talitha took a step backward away from the massive clock. And then she took another, followed by a turn. The woman collided with someone else in the crowd, a man with glasses and no hair.

Talitha was startled for a moment. Her eyes grew wide in surprise and her hand clenched as if she was preparing to defend herself if need be. However a split second later the woman relaxed and nodded her white-haired head.

“Excuse me,” Talitha spoke softly before she weaved her way through the crowd.

A woman silently entered the empty building. Gambit's Bar was once a busy place that usually had several occupants at any given time. However, the place seemed to be dying and only a few visited it.

Then again that could be attributed to the fact that she had not visited herself in quit some time. In fact, the only reason Talitha had come here was to look for someone and Gambit's was a door way to all worlds.

The Promethean walked along the empty up-turned chairs on the tables with her pale colored eyes. She stopped at a table and muttered beneath her breath,"Where could you be hiding?"

Talitha flinched when she finally noticed the voices echoing off the other end of the room. She had not noticed that there were others in the bar. Curiosity compelled her to go closer.

Silent as a cool breeze in the spring, Talitha eased her way across the room after one of the men had left. It was only the blue man who remained behind. Talitha had never before seen anyone with blue skin before. It piqued her interest.

The Promethean arrived at his shoulder and peered over it, cheek almost brushing against his. "What did he give you," Talitha asked in a hushed voice. She attempted to reach out and touch whatever it was that he held.
