Description
Personality
Tejas is an outcast of his race, as they are evil and he is not. But he finds it hard to fit in with other races, since they distrust him for his heritage. He is usually wary of strangers for this reason.
Equipment
Tejas wears a swordbelt that carries a katana on his left and a wakizashi on his right. He also carries a longbow. He always has a small flute with him.
History
Tejas fled from his homeland when his family tried to sacrifice him to placate Lolth, the Spider Queen. He eventually found his way to the surface world and has been trying to find a place of acceptance ever since.
So begins...
Tejas 'kel Khalus's Story

Tejas 'kel Khalus falls to his knees, his strength spent. "Run," he says, barely audible. "You . . . must . . ." Then he twists in agony and collapses. His body jerks spasmodically. Then the back of his coat seems to stretch out, further and further. Of a sudden, the fabric tears, allowing what appears to be leathery wings to grow from the dark elf's back. Tejas screams in pain. The scream echoes through the Forest and slowly lowers in pitch until it seems to be a different voice altogether.
Tejas 'kel Khalus suddenly ceases to scream, laughing instead in a voice that sounds as the the mountains are trembling.
The setting changes from Twisted Path to Gambit's Bar
Tejas 'kel Khalus enters the bar, his wide-brimmed hat tilted low to hide his face. Moving quietly, he heads for a dark corner of the bar and takes a seat at an empty table, his eyes scanning the crowd for threats.
Tejas 'kel Khalus feels a warm trickle on his right cheek. Reaching up, he brushes away the blood that is trailing from under the black eyepatch. He frowns at the crimson stain on his fingers. He'd thought it had stopped bleeding.
Tejas 'kel Khalus looks up at Paradigm. His free slipped under his coated, gripping the hilt of an elegantly bejeweled longsword. "Phuul dos abbil?" he asked.
Tejas 'kel Khalus eased his grip on the weapon. "Few would help me, madam." He tilts his hat back a bit, revealing the ebony skin that marked him a dark elf. "Still wish to aid me?"
Tejas 'kel Khalus smiled, though the expression did not reach his eyes. "You are one of the few, madam. But you should save your healing for a time when it will do good. This would cannot be healed. I have tried for more than sixty years. It is of no use."
Tejas 'kel Khalus nods to the woman. "I appreciate your willingness to assist, madam. But I am too far past the point where any can aid me."
Tejas 'kel Khalus looks at the woman thoughtfully. After a moment, he eases back one side of his longcoat, revealing a dark red stain, still damp, on the right side of his ribcage. "This is why. I have fought long and hard, seeking to destroy what caused this, thinking that such an act would allow it to heal. But, alas, my enemy is dead and the wounds yet remain."
Tejas 'kel Khalus shakes his head. "Not witchcraft, madam. Something worse. You do not wish to know. Trust me." He pulled the back closed.
Tejas 'kel Khalus sighs. "I hope, for your sake, that you have not. Few survive dealings with the t'narri."
Tejas 'kel Khalus closes his one good eyes with a wince. The wound in his side grows painful. With a sigh of determination, he pushes aside the pain. "Is there something I could perhaps aid you with? I am well-versed in the sword, as well as with the arcane arts/"
Tejas 'kel Khalus frowns. "Madam, I was offering my services to you. Not that I would expect payment. But you seem an honest sort. And so I deem you a worthy cause."
Tejas 'kel Khalus nods to Paradigm, then leans back in his seat, pulling his hat low once more. He resumes his watch of the crowd,
Tejas 'kel Khalus suddenly sits up straight in his seat, taking note of the dark elf that just entered.
Tejas 'kel Khalus narrows his eyes dangerously. "Dos phuul ogglin?" His hands dip to his sides, gripping the hilts of his swords and positioning his feet so that he could rise quickly if needed.
Tejas 'kel Khalus frowns. "Zahv? You mean Zahvendiel? What has he done to merit a bounty?" He shakes his head. "Never mind. I do not need to know. I was speaking of the . . . " He pauses, lowering his voice. "Of the bounty on myself."
