The Dead Set

Marionette-like people, or.. Perhaps people-like Marionettes.

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Rooster

Description

People made out of other things, false things. People go missing, then come back different, blank stares replace their once lively gazes, and their flesh, once warm and blushed, becomes pale and cold like porcelain. Though this is easily enough ignored.. Or hidden. Many prominent government and Military officials show signs of The set, if only a little bit.

The Rich, The Poor, The Law-Abiding, The Criminal.

All are welcome to complete the set.

Scarlet 'Bloody Dame' Jalleppa- The Crimson Clad Singer of The Tin-Pan McCoy, a party boat on Ol' Muddy. Scarlet is a Sultry jack of both trades, being a Soprano and Alto, as well as a charmer and.. A frequent user of 1920's Slang. Went missing April 5th 1925, reappeared October 16th, better than ever, but paler than ever, and cold.

Monty 'Big Six' Skelton- A zoot suited, pencil mustached, sharp sideburned, fedora wearing smuggler with a fancy for the M1911's. Thin, tall, but well known for being a dead-eye with his .45's, his name is 'Big Six' because of his strong-arming tactics in his bootlegging operations. You needed something smuggled anywhere you'd ask Skelton. Went missing June 17th 1925, reappeared November 29th, pale and cold.

Ilsa 'Le Loup' Krueger- The German, blonde haired, blue eyed 'Aryan' woman with a voluptuous frame wrapped in a trench coat of strong smelling black leather, leather gloves, a long black skirt, black boots and a black silk scarf. Nicknamed 'Le Loup' for various ramblings of countless mad, institutionalized French soldiers that had escaped her on the field during WW2, never ceasing to scream 'Le loup, le loup! Le femme de diable nous hante!'. Her canines are slightly sharper than normal women, and on full moons her eyes shift from blue to yellow. Went missing May 6th 1945, reappeared May 8th 1945, pale and cold.

Jack 'Jill' Nocta- What all crossdressers aspire to be, 'Jill' was born a feminine boy and he grew into a feminine man..-woman...thing, With a woman's delicate features on his face and narrow shoulders, with the right clothing he'd look like a flat-chested girl. But despite his fantasies Jill wears circular-apertured eye glasses, a white dress shirt tucked into his pants, a black waist-coat, a black leather belt with a golden buckle, black dress-pants, black socks and black leather dress shoes. Occasionally white gloves will cover his hands. Nocta's hair is black, wavy and long, reaching his shoulders before ending. His eyes are dark blue.

When he was growing, his adoptive parents believed that a feminine boy of his kind would face many "Sinful Temptations" and packed him up at Age 15, sending him to a Templar Monastery overlooking the Solinus Sea. Though raised by his parents and the Templars as a devout man of god, Jack was a logical boy and doubted the almighty's existence.. But after the events that transpired in the monastery it was hard no to believe in the darker beasts from the Templar's tales. Jack was practically a maid for the Monks and Templars, instructed to clean all unlocked chambers in the main building (Jack wondered why the almighty wouldn't just clean his 'own manuscripts'). The boy did as instructed, cleaning all the chambers, until one. The door was slightly cracked open and a feeling of dread came over him by even standing near it.. But if he didn't clean them all the Templars would beat him for his insolence..so.. He dared to enter. Inside only a few dark smudges remained, with the smell of burnt robes lingering. Before Jack could retreat he had stepped one foot inside of a sealing circle and quickly shielding his eye with his left arm and drawing back with the right half of his body, was half possessed. Jack's left arm, eye and leg are under demonic control, which, with quick acting from the merciful High-Chanter, were sealed with similar tattoo symbols than those on the ground within the chamber. One on his forearm, one on his shin and one under his left eye. Under huge amounts of stress, pain or under the effect of unholy magic, the binds are broken and the demonic ichor within him triggers a blood-lust and allows for the manipulation of unholy auras, vice versa, the seals placed by the Templars calms Jill and allows him to use Holy chants to dispel darkness.

After this event Jack was kept behind bars for years, under observation from Priests and Templars to evaluate the seal's dispelling power.

Jack Never went missing and.. He was always a rather cold and pale child.

So begins...

The Dead Set 's Jill shook his head and compassionatly leaned forward, taking her feminine hands in his own. A slight blush upon his face, he spoke. "No, no! Not at all. I've never encountered a shape-shifter before.. Well, I've encountered that succubus, but I don't think you've really got a similar culture.. Unless you're into attempting to bite off...Ah.. How did you put it.. my 'wrong parts down there' after stripping naked and sprinting after me with a kitchen knife taken from a friar."

Jill didn't mind the soldiers, If they were going to take him then they would, there was now way he could stop them, so he'd at least talk to this girl as much as he could.

The Dead Set 's Jill laughed and squeezed her hands playfully to hopefully comfort her, letting her know that he wasn't serious and that the last statement was intended to be a joke. When the soldiers approached them Jill held up his hands, having no weapons of his own on his form.

The Dead Set 's Jill's eyes blinked rapidly. "Well, that's quite the trick. I'm afraid I'm not as interesting, boys." The perfectly womanly man quaffed at the Soldiers, winking with a giggle, that was usually the cherry on top. His eyes turned back to Myras and he smiled. "If you were wondering what Parson meant earlier, I was in a Monastery as a child.. And then I was jailed."

The Dead Set 's Jill had seen worse, but it was still a tad disturbing. He decided to comment, though warily. "Ah..So.. What exactly is.. That orb in your viscous form..? An..eye? Or maybe a..Brain? Eheh.."

The Dead Set 's Jill blinks and nods, amazed to some extent. "Well.. It's very late, dear. I think I'll be going now, before I collapse and you have your way with me, as fun as that sounds." He leaned forward and kissed her cheek friendlily, standing and waving. The pale, perfectly womanly man exited.

The Dead Set 's Jill made his way down the stairs of Gambit's inn, dressed in his common attire, a long sleeved white dress shirt, black pants, leather shoes and a black waist-coat, though due to Jill's appearance it wouldn't look like a man dressed up fancy, but rather a tom-boy. Jill's name was really Jack. Jill was an alias to make things easier, or so Jill thought. His face was that of a pretty young woman's, soft, smoothed cheeks and an undefined jaw-bone. His hair was dark brown and wavy, reaching his shoulders before curling at the ends and stopping. Jill's body was feminine as well, and his voice, though obviously he did not have breasts.

He grew up this way, it was quite odd to others, as he knew, so he didn't say he was a man. No one would know unless they had the sudden urge to violently molest him anyways, so Jill saw no regular danger in his practice. He quickly moved to the counter and rapped on it with his knuckles, smiling to the bartender. "Any chance at late breakfast?"

The Dead Set 's Jill yawned and adjusted his glasses, rubbing his arms to warm himself up on the winter day. "Ugh. I love snow but I hate the cold.." The feminine man doodled on a napkin idly and waited for his late breakfast, ears twitching when the scent of pancakes graced the air. He sat up and stopped shading the claw he had been drawing on the cheap paper at his right hand, the pencil he held was shorter than usual, the eraser worn down. His eyes shot up to the kitchen door and a waiter brought him the sweet food. The waiter winked, mistaking him for a woman, and Jill told him to just put it on the Church's tab. They owed him that much.

When Diomedes crashed to the ground Jill's eyes peered through their glasses at the hulking crusader, biting his bottom lip. He looked like a templar.. But Jill's morals told him to see if the thing was ok.. so he did, raising from his stool, the feminine man walked over to the armored titan and spoke in his womanly voice. "Uh..Sir.. Are you..ok?"

The Dead Set 's Jill's solemn face moved into a more concerned one, biting his bottom lip again. "Well, that doesn't look good.." Jill leaned over the hulking metal figure and laughed nervously. "Doesn't.. look like any Templar I've ever seen.." His eyes flick over to Ren's form and he bends down near the man warily. If Diomedes was conscious even a little bit, or his armor or writs of power could sense demonic energy a dampened flow of it would seep from Jill's left side. "Hello..?"

The Dead Set 's Jill's feminine eyeshadowed gaze rested over the newcomer's form. This was starting to become a group activity.. And his Pancakes were getting cold. He wondered if the chefs would take it as an insult or charge him for wanting them heated up again. Money wasn't exactly bountiful for an ex "Sinner under the Holy Protection of our Father". A good quantity of the denizens of Wing City knew of the Holy Monastery and were either part of it or respected it. Jobs were sparse..

"Anyone know this..Guy?"

The Dead Set 's Jill would feel a slight agitation in the left portion of his body, squirming slightly as he bit his bottom lip again, this time harder. "I'm probably going to regret this..buuut.." Jill extended his left arm, quickly poking the sigil with the index finger of his right hand, quickly drawing back and expecting the body-part to explode off or something absurd like that. "On..button?"

The Dead Set 's Jill fell back roughly on his girlish ass, dumbfounded that the random hunch was correct. "Oof! ..I... did it? Yay?" He had instinctively covered his face with both arms, expecting an explosion any second now. The multiverse was known for that sort of thing. "Sorry if it kills you all, everyone! Not my fault!" Jill called out in his feminine voice, giggling nervously.

The Dead Set 's Jill happened to have been in the direction he was facing then, eyes open wide, peering through a small gap between his arms that covered his face..slightly. His glasses slide down his nose a bit and his long, wavy hair was disheveled in fright. He looked like a startled woman, not really one of courage around things that looked like templars.. especially with no weapons or armor. "I-I... Hello there! I'm.. Jill, Jill Nocta. I activated you so please don't kill me, I haven't even eaten breakfast yet."

The Dead Set 's Jill peered up at the tall, armored titan before him, arms lowering when he realized that the man is confused and not out to destroy all organic life or something ridiculous. "Uhm.. Multiverse, Gambit's bar, Wing City?" He assumed Diomedes was talking to him, his right hand's fingers brushing through his long hair, trying to smooth it down again.

The Dead Set 's Jill hurried over to the Plate of pancakes on the counter, grabbed it quickly and saluted to whoever was eying him, brushing past a few people as he ran out the door, leaving his sketch of a Dragon's Talon behind, though it was just on a napkin.

The Dead Set 's Jill had been sitting at the bar, minding his own business, but Gambit's was not a place for peaceful reflection on one's day, as Jill was reminded each day more and more. Jill looked like a woman, and by that it didn't mean he had a slightly feminine frame, or face. Jill, or Jack (His real name) looked completely like a female, save for the breasts. His face was feminine and his body androgynous, his hair long and dark brown.. And in a bar full of drunks.. He was just another little prize for some lumbering idiot.

And a lumbering idiot, it seemed, was fully available. The man had watched him from afar for a long while, getting more and more drunk and convincing himself that Jill was looking back.. When in fact Jill didn't even notice him. The man approached Jill, grabbing his right wrist and tugging. He garbled something out about Jill staring at him and that he wanted 'a little action' with his 'little self'. Needless to say, Jill was unnerved immediately. He might have looked like a woman, but he certainly didn't desire men.. And if he did, not this type.

"Uh, no thanks." Jill tried to pull his hand back, but the man's grip was like iron around his dainty, slightly gaunt part.
Cmon girlie, you'll like me after we get into it..
The lumberjack-esque drunk gurgled, to which Jill cringed, looking around. "No.. Really, I'm fine." His eyes shot around the bar for anyone else to..help?

The Dead Set 's Jill exhaled in relief, but the Drunk had other plans, lifting his malnourished body right out of his stool with his drunken, slobbering strength. Jill, being one used to being suspended by the arms by shackles until the dislocation of the arms had qualms about this position, not wanting to relive any experience from his jailing.
Thisn't your business mister..
The drunk had started to merge words, eyes heavy, grip tightening on Jill's wrist. "A-ah!" The feminine man had been fed up, and a sharp kick from his dress shoes collided with the drunk's shoulder harshly, causing the oaf to drop him. Jill scrambled a few feet back, arms up for a fight as the drunk growled and attempted to run at his dainty form, arm pulled back for a punch, elbow near Elim's form.
You little bitch!
The arm that formerly held Jill up was limp at his side, in pain.

The Dead Set 's Jill prepared for impact as the drunk was grabbed by Elim, the big burly man spinning in a wobbly fashion around at the undead, ripping plugs of his elbow's flesh off, left on the man's claws. With his drunken stupor, he didn't feel much of the pain, and used his momentum to throw a backfist at Elim's face.
Ugh! You little piece of shit! I'll kill you too!
He shouted, saliva and whiskey flavored breath blasting at the undead, not as an intended attack but.. Damn the man smelled like a brewery and his numb arm was starting to get feeling in it again.

The Dead Set 's Jill would meanwhile scramble behind the bar, selecting the biggest bottle he could find, which just so happened to be a large clear whiskey bottle filled with the stinging, disgusting drink. The drunk seemed occupied with Elim, so Jill carefully moved back around the counter to not draw the lumbering, smelly man's attention. The dainty, feminine man raised the heavy bottle above his head with both arms, situated behind the oaf.

Yerthe only one that's gunna die here!
The drunk exclaimed, gurgling out his words before coughing, letting out a stupid laugh and lifting his heavy, unbalanced leg to prepare to crush Elim's head with the boot upon it. His leg raised and-

Suddenly Jill Swung, the arc of the bottle moving sideways and smashing into the man's head. It shattered over his thick skull and forced him to put his foot down for struggled balance as the glass shards of the bottle sprung leaks upon his grizzled face, now pour blood as he shouted, clutching the bar with one hand.
Agh! My face!

The Dead Set 's Jill looked to the blade the dead man offered, batting his eyelashes and laughing nervously. "No, no. I don't think that's really necessary. He doesn't need to die. He's drunk.. He deserves a beating, yes.. But I can't risk committing murder just out of jail, can I?" The man that looked like a sweet, tom-boyish woman moved closer to the bleeding, screaming drunk and brought his elbow up, the drunk still lurched over the counter, Jill slammed it down with a strength that certainly didn't reflect his form, crashing the powerful blow into the man's head. If the initial blow didn't knock him unconscious, his forehead ramming the counter did.. And his heavy form slid to the floor, flopping limply to the whiskey-soaked ground.

A white-gloved hand was extended towards Elim, from Jill. "Jill, Jill Nocta. Sorry for that. I seem to attract a bit of attention around here."
