Description

Name: The Jupiter Corporation.

Founder: Lochlyn Haley.

Leader(s): Lochlyn Haley.

Date Founded: Unknown.

Public Status: Terrorist organization. De facto rulers of Hera Prime.

Allies: Elias Crowley, The Rogues, Gen. Andarta Heller, The Human Brotherhood, The Hessian.

Enemies: Everyone who isn't an ally.

Manpower: Unknown.

History:

It's unknown when exactly the Jupiter Corporation was founded, they aren't known by any other names. All that's known is that they were founded by a man named Lochlyn Haley, a powerful man with god-like abilities hailing from London, England. But even this is disputed, rumors say that he and his organization have existed for many years working in the background. Be it manipulating major events, engaging in secret wars, in wars by proxy, and even terrorism on civilians and military through the years.

Recently, they've openly declared war on any and everyone who doesn't ally with them in their war against the known universe. Their motives are shrouded in mystery, some seeing them as warmongers in the same vein as the Spartans, others as terrorists, and others power-hungry zealots.

Despite it's association with the terrorist Lochlyn Haley, the Jupiter Corporation was filled with men and women who knew not what their CEO and founder was up to. After several long months, it's still existing board of directors were able to clear their names and in an effort to rebuild the company in defiance of Haley, made moves to bring it back.

Under the leadership of CEO Sarai Elbaz, the legitimate Jupiter Corporation was able to make it's way back into the technology game. Unfortunately for Elbaz, the actions of Haley has left many distrustful and has even painted a target on her back for Haley himself.

Even then, she plans to earn the trust of the masses and defy Haley. Letting him and her detractors know that she will not be bullied.

General Logistics:

The Jupiter Corporation's main combat spacecraft, known only as Morningstars, make use of homegrown shielding technology, armor and weapons. The shields are designed to take large amounts of kinetic damage while the ship's hulls and armor are designed to absorb large amounts of plasma, energy and kinetic damage as well. The shielding used on ships are several different variants of shields stacked up on each other and powered by an unknown source of energy from within the ships. This easily explains why the shields can take several different forms of attack unscathed.

The weapons used by the ships vary, but are mostly the same all around. They include Chroniton Torpedos, Directed Energy Lasers, Railgun fired kinetic rounds about ten times bigger than the shells used in tanks, Plasma-based weapons, Nuclear Missiles and Energy Disruptors.

The Jupiter Corporation makes use of hundreds of thousands soldiers acting as a personal secret army for their leader, Lochlyn, as well as a large undefined number of mercenaries. Estimates for his mercenaries range from thousands to the hundreds of thousands. Most soldiers and mercenaries aligned with the Jupiter Corporation are armed with kinetic and pseudo-energy based weapons. They also make use of supersoldiers, most seen as being nearly indestructible and able to fight entire battalions of infantry before being forced to retreat, if retreat is an option.

Ship Weapons:

- Chroniton Torpedos: Chroniton torpedoes are ship-mounted weapons developed through study of temporal science. The torpedoes are capable of passing directly through an enemy's shields due to the fact that they are in a constant state of temporal flux. Due to this, the torpedoes cause massive damage to a ship and can, if the ship is weak enough, destroy them in just a few shots.

- Jupiter Torpedo: The components of a Jupiter Corporation torpedo are contained within an elongated elliptical casing, comparable to a tank shell. The weapon is armed with a nuclear warhead. The warhead has a detonation chamber filled with antimatter, nuclear energy, photons and plasma. Upon detonation the torpedo created a matter-antimatter explosion, discharging the contents of the detonation chamber, effectively destroying it's targets or damaging them, and releasing a deadly flood of ionizing radiation with lasting effects on land.

- Anti-proton Beam: The Anti-proton Beam is a directed energy weapon capable of potentially causing massive amounts of damage to ships and land mass. The exact mechanics that go into creating an Anti-proton Beam are unknown, but the beams themselves are encased by plasma, keeping them heated to high degrees reaching at least 400,000,000 Kelvin, and ensuring that they deposit the correct amount of energy to cause damage.

So begins...

Dressed in a black suit and tie, Hannibal made his way into the Government Center with a large briefcase in hand. The Tunisian man placed his briefcase down on a conveyor belt, tapping his foot impatiently at the people in front of him moving through the metal detectors and X-ray scanners.

When it was finally Hannibal's turn the man paused, looking at the security staff waiting for him to move ahead. He stepped through the metal detector, setting it off as expected. There wasn't a man or woman who had come through and didn't set off the metal detectors.

Hannibal sighed as he was searched for weapons, making a face at the security personnel when he finally allowed up to the x-ray scanner. He paused again, looking down at his feet and towards his briefcase that was soon to be going through a scanner as well.

It was seconds later than a man near the entrance pulled a plasma pistol from his waist, the man grabbed a woman entering the building with intent to use her as human shield.

"You people persecute us! You lie to us! It's the Terrans who slaughtered my people!" The man yelled, "The Aschen on Terra are in danger of being slaughtered in the streets yet again by you hypocrites. You thin we don't know? We know everything!" The man continued yelling, aiming his weapon at anyone who was coming too close.

With the security staff's attention on the violent man Hannibal rushed through the x-ray scanner, quickly grabbing his briefcase before heading further into the building.

"I'm going to need my pass. No need to hold me up because of a crazy." The Tunisian man told the security officer manning the security booth, "Uh... yeah. Here." The man said, handing Hannibal a visitor's pass to continue on. "Best you stay away from the lobby for now. The NPA is on their way." He warned.

"I've survived Wing City this long, I can go a little longer." Hannibal joked, clipping the pass onto his collar. He turned slowly to look at the scene as it unfolded, lifting his chin slowly before turning to continue towards the elevators.

The apparently Aschen hostage taker pushed the woman he held to the ground, reaching into his shirt to yank on what appeared to be a cable.

Almost immediately there were several small pops, the sounds of canisters releasing their contents. Alarms began to go off, detecting hazardous gases.

Elysium began to seep out from beneath the man's clothing, the hostage taker removing different articles of clothing to allow the chemical weapon to spread much more effectively. The man charged towards the security checkpoint, firing a few shots from his plasma pistol.

"Open fire!" A security officer shouted, several NPA Enforcers bursting through the entrance. They opened fire immediately with the security staff, downing the man covered in Elysium canisters.

"Evacuate the building." The lead Enforcer ordered, "Now!" He shouted.

Hannibal stepped into an elevator, tapping the button that would send it to the building's top floor. With each stop people piled own, all trying to leave the building.

"What do you think is going on?" A woman asked, "Another terrorist attack. This always happens." A man answered as the elevator arrived at the fifth floor. Hannibal stepped off, prompting looks from the other people. "Are you nuts? We have to go." A man said.

Hannibal dug into his suit jacket, revealing a hand grenade. "You gotta go, you gotta go." Hannibal said, tossing the grenade onto the elevator just as the doors closed.

The Tunisian terrorists walked away from the doomed elevator, taking in the sound of an explosion one floor below as a sign that things were going according to plan.

"We're ready."

Chek walked through the streets of the city quietly. He had a pistol underneath his thick winter gear. He wasn't looking for trouble though all he wanted was off this miserable rock. For months he had been here freezing his ass off. All he wanted was to go somewhere warm and where he could earn a bit of cash or at least access one of his stashes.

All he could do here was work on the mechs and even a job like that was hard to come by. Chek had more gear back at his tiny oneroom lodge. As he walked down the street though he noticed a group that appeared to be looking for someone. It appeared to be odd being a wanted man he was always wary of new comers.

He noticed a female soldier that had split up when the others did and approached her. "Excuse me Mam' you appear to be looking for someone. I just taught that I might be able to help you out for the right price." Chek said with a smile from under his hooded parka.

"Not someone." The woman said, turning to Chek. "Someones. Plural. Able-bodied men and women with combat experience for work." She told Chek, "Mercenaries, for the most part. The pay is decent if you survive or get guard duty somewhere." She said.

She waved a hand at one of the men that was with her earlier as he passed, he seemed to have gone in the wrong direction or he'd seen something, or someone, of interest nearby.

"As you can see we're still looking. We'd recruit the whole planet if we could. That's a lot of bodies."

The explosion from one of the elevators caught the attention of the law enforcement and security staff, the assumption was that there were bombs in the building.

"Get everyone to safety, don't let anyone leave the area. This is likely an inside job. Contact any, and everyone, with expertise regarding Elysium and it's treatment." An NPA Enforcer ordered, moving his team further into the building.

"Is there anyone on cameras? Let us know where to go, we can't go in blind." The head Enforcer said, gesturing some of his men towards the ruined elevator while the others moved in on the others. One when they opened piled made their way off, trying to rush for the exit.

"There's Elysium in the lobby, the security staff will find you another exit. My team, upstairs. Sweep every floor for hostiles. Fire at will if there's no immediate threat of civilian casualties." The head Enforcer ordered, he and his men boarding an elevator that would take them up to the second floor.

Meanwhile on the fifth floor, Hannibal made his way into the building's interfaith chapel, finding a lone priest. "Here I was expecting to be alone." Hannibal said to the priest, "No such luck today." The priest responded, standing before a cross.

"Why are you here? Who are you?" Hannibal asked, not enjoying that the man had stuck around despite every alarm in the building going off. It was odd, to say the least.

"I hoped I could persuade you to give up." The priest admitted, turning to face Hannibal. "You're clearly a man of God. Or, you were. Don't do this. We've seen enough death on this planet." He pleaded to Hannibal, the Tunisian man sitting his briefcase down before moving to take a seat.

Hannibal observed the man, shaking his head. "Can't do that." He said, "Not until the universe has seen enough death. It's only a matter of time." Hannibal told the priest, "The military will respond, the police will respond, everyone will respond. They can't let this happen again."

"Unfortunately, it's going to keep happening for awhile." Hannibal said, "All it takes is a man, or woman, with a delusion and a position of power to make this happen. We're only paid attention to because we don't fly under any national banner." Hannibal said.

"Were we the Aschen, or the Coalition, the Terrans would hand us the planet on a silver platter. And when we piss all over it they'd shake our dicks for us." The Tunisian man continued, "This is a political statement?" The priest asked.

"This is change." Hannibal answered, "Universal change."

"This work will it be off of this rock?" Chek asked the woman. "I know my way around some weapons mostly snipers but I can handle others." Che said pausing.

"I'm looking to get off of this rock but I'm willing to work for it I got no place else to go anyways. I just have one question. Where would I be heading to?" He asked the woman.

Normally he wouldn't have given a second thought but given his current situation he wanted to steer clear of both the SEC and the Aschen.

The Terrans did indeed respond, a platoon of NPA Enforcers spilling into the lobby, their armor and masks protecting them from the toxic Elysium.

"What the hell is going on here," the captain spoke to the nearest Enforcer on-duty.

"An attack," he responded, "Elysium crazy. Downed him quickly."

"And the explosion in the elevator?"

"We don't know. Civilian casualties expected. The gas bomber was probably a decoy."

"Search the premise. Get video evidence on every person to enter the lobby in the last ten minutes. Someone got through while the terrorist was making his assault. We need to know who to look for. In the meantime, evacuate the building and set up a perimeter. Pull all civilians into a safe but secure location where each can be searched individually. No one escapes into the streets."

"Copy that sir." The Enforcer ran off.

The captain commed into NPA command. "I need a plasma dome, an anti-teleportation field, a frequency scrambler..."

The woman shrugged, "It's not up to me to tell you. It's up to the boss. If he sends you to babysit his cat, or blow up a space station, it's his choice." She said, "Can you accept that? Can you follow orders?" The woman asked Chek.

"We need people who can, you need to walk away if you can't."

Several large ships began to enter the SEC's territory, there were at least forty of them in total. Each one at least a few thousand kilometers long and nearly a thousand wide. Whatever, whoever, these ships carried they were large, or in large quantities. The ships were heavily armed with several different kinds of weapons, whoever built or modified the ships had made sure they were prepared for anything the ships could encounter while travelling.

Or for anyone they could encounter in battle.

The ships were slow on their approach, but didn't seem inherently hostile. They could have been wary of any defending forces or holding cargo they didn't want damage by going too fast into any space debris along the way.

They'd prove themselves friendly by sending out a hail to all those nearby and approaching, the hail in form of a message from their commander-in-chief.

"My name is Lochlyn Haley, I currently hold the most stock here within the SEC. These are my ships, and my crews, to protect my assets, but they are also at the disposal of any military leaders who think they may need some extra firepower or menacing ships to patrol an area."

The message from Lochlyn concluded and then would repeat itself, maikng sure there were no mistakes. That everyone got it.

"I suppose there is no convincing you otherwise?" The priest asked Hannibal, "You're absolutely right, father." The Tunisian man stood up, glancing around the chapel for a moment. "There are no cameras. This is a place of worship." The priest told Hannibal, watching as the terrorist made his way towards the exit.

"I need to be alone, father. You need to go." Hannibal said, "Or, I can kill you. Get on an elevator, at least one should be working if they haven't shut them down to try to prevent an escape. Let them know exactly where to find me."

Hannibal stepped aside, waiting for the priest to take his chance to leave.

"I have more people to pray for, I'll be staying." The priest told Hannibal, intent on continuing his prayer even if it meant death by whatever Hannibal in mind. Blade, gun, explosive, he was going to meet his end praying for Hannibal and the people of Terra.

It was the least he could do.

Surprisingly there was no ship response to the ships entering the space instead a transmission was sent a few minutes later.

"Attention Mr. Haley this is Grand-Moff Tarin regional oversight for this sector is under my command. We were told to be expecting you. I have orders to ask you to divert your course to Belta Station it's a few systems in and I can provide coordinates. I have alreadly Alerted Mr. Teller of your arrival and he would like to greet you personally aboard the station to discuss how you can best assist us. Please be advised your ships will be subject to scanning, as previously stated we will need full papers for all of your crew. "

It was clear that Tarin and other Military personnel had been fully briefed on the situation. Lochlyn may have great financial sway with the SEC but it was clear that did not curtail to his people or employees the customs process could be lengthy but obviously that was what they wanted.

Dominic Hagan had been among the throng of bystanders milling about in the lobby when the terrorists struck. One moment the young CEO had been conversing pleasantly with an elderly citizen as he waited for chairman Malijin, the next he was ducking and covering as a madman ran through security, a cloud of Elysium trailing behind him.

"Oh dear..." the aged woman gasped, "...what on... what on earth..."

"We need to move, madam," Dominic instructed, taking her arm and ushering her out of the maniac's path. He growled in frustration. As if he hadn't had enough excitement already with his recent skirmish in the slums, now the Government Center itself was under attack. This place was just one big action movie spanned out over an entire city.

Dominic's vigilant eyes caught the figure of a man rush through the security checkpoints unexamined, a large bag in his hand. He ran directly for the nearest elevator going up. The Aschen's brows knit together. What sort of man purposefully traps himself in the upper levels of a building during a terrorist attack?

The haze of creeping Elysium and the shouts of civilians drew Dom's attention back towards more pressing matters. With the mist of deadly drugs conveniently barring himself and his escort from escaping the building or receiving NPA help, Dominic knew his only option was to run deeper into the Government Center or risk exposure to the Elysium.

"This way, madam," he instructed, leading her into the halls.

"Is... is everything alright out there? My eye-sight isn't what it used to be..."

"Don't concern yourself, madam," Dominic smiled, "just keep hold of me. Help is already on the way."

---

As the Tunisian terrorist faced off with the brave priest, the both of them would soon feel a black and ghastly presence infiltrate the holy atmosphere of the chapel. Should they turn, they would find a tall, gaunt figure looming at the doorway. A dark cloak wrapped around his haggard frame, a white mask canvassed his shadowed face. There was an aura to him, a foul essence that writhed off his figure in whisping tendrils, lifting faint, unholy whispers into the air. He was idol, incense and litany all in one, a cruel effigy of emptiness offered to some pitiless pagan god.

"There were sixteen people in that elevator." His words slithered across the carpeted floor, his voice a strange hybrid of hushing coo and crinkling rasp. He made no movements. The black, lidless frames of his eyes were undoubtedly centered on Hannibal.

"I counted seventeen, but I was in a hurry." Hannibal said, shutting the door to the chapel. The man turned slowly to face the dark figure, examining just who stood before him. "Not what I was expecting. I was waiting for soldiers, police officers, more people to tell me that this is their planet and that they'll die keeping it out of evil's hands." Hannibal said.

"I guess this is more interesting. A demon by any other name. An angel of death." Hannibal said, amused at the appearance of his soon-to-be enemy.

"There is a darkness in you." The priest said, turning to Paragon before settling his eyes on Hannibal. "In both of you. Pain, hate, sadness. This chapel doesn't have to be bathed in death and carnage. You can stop. Both of you can stop." He pleaded.

"Why stop when the others continue?" Hannibal asked the priest, "This being here, whether he slays me or not, will only serve to allow me to cast doubt in you, father."

Hannibal pointed to his briefcase, gesturing the priest to it. "Open it." He commanded, eyes never leaving Paragon for a second.

The priest hesitated, he figured there was a bomb. If there was opening the briefcase wouldn't matter, the terrorist wanted him to see something. "Okay." He finally said, approaching the briefcase cautiously. He opened the briefcase slowly, revealing a bomb as expected, but items and weapons as well.

"I'll give you thirty seconds to put that on an elevator and send it down. I won't harm your chapel. I was once a man of God in my old life." Hannibal admitted.

"That means you and I should take this elsewhere." He told Paragon.

"You will not hurt anyone else," the beast said, stepping slowly forward into the chapel. He lifted a stoic finger to the briefcase in the priest's hands. "The bomb. Disarm it. Whatever happens between us, there will be no more life lost today."

For a moment, the stranger's lidless eyes seemed to rest on the priest. His expression was indeterminable beneath the placid mask, but for a moment, he seemed to soften. The bubbling black flame licking off his cloak diminished ever so slightly... the putrid terror of his presence somehow less palpable. It was as if he knew this priest personally, as if there was something about the holy man's compassionate but defiant pacifism that tempered the burning fire of his wrath.

...but then he looked back to Hannibal. The terrified faces of his victims reflected in his eyes. He heard their screams echo in his ears... felt their blood run through his taloned fingers...

"You will stand down..." he growled, taking another step forward, his fists curling.

"...or you will suffer."

"I can't. Do you think I built the explosive myself?" Hannibal asked, "I don't work with them. When I was a soldier I shot at people, I protected people, buildings, land." Hannibal said, "It's going to go off here, or elsewhere." He told Paragon, "The building's been evacuated, if he takes it to the elevator there may not be any deaths."

Hannibal thought for a moment, "Unless there's police officers and soldiers on their way up, of course. In that case I would advise they take the stairs."

The priest grabbed the briefcase, shutting it quickly. "There should be a roof. We'll be under the rubble from the blast and it's too much of a risk to throw it into the streets." The priest told Paragon, "I imagine you two have made peace with the idea of death, I admit that I have." He continued.

"But, I am a mere man. Will I be dying alone here?" The priest asked, briefcase clutched close to his chest.

Footsteps echoed in the chapel as another figure joined the trio there. Dressed in a smart skirt and jacket, a dark haired woman made her way onto the scene. "Ah, the unfortunate irony that the commotion would find its way here." she stated, pausing on her approach to survey the three who were positioned about the room.

Despite her bold stance and stride, there was a caution to Cynn Naeata's hawkish eyes as she looked them each over. Confident she might be, but foolhardy she was not. She was well aware that her life was at risk here. She had considered evacuating the building with the other politicians present that day, but decided against it. It had only been circumstance that she had been present in the government centre that day, finalising some arrangements for her campaign.

"A bomb, is it? I want to ask what the catch is, because 'a bomb' sounds awfully mundane. But perhaps we're in luck, and the mundane is all that we're dealing with." Cynn nodded to the priest, "Hand it here. I should be able to get it clear of causing any damage, and the best part, I probably won't die if I have long enough."

She let a small smile grace her lips. "If not? Well, let's not worry about that hurdle till we come to it."

Paragon's head swiveled as Naeta entered, the gaunt figure briefly tensing at the arrival of the bold politician. Another endangered life thrown into the picture did not please Paragon, but if there was any chance she could disarm the bomb, he was willing to allow it.

"Give it to her," he looked to the priest and nodded, "and then I advise you to clear out. Your faith is admirable, father, but your compassion is better used elsewhere. There is an old woman on the first floor, wing E, conference room nine, who is in desperate need of a kind hand to lead her to safety."

The stranger looked back to Hannibal, his shadow writhing like smoke on the floor. "As for you..."

With the speed of a demon, the Paragon's hand shot out of his dismal cloak, a black projectile flying from his wrist towards the Tunisian's arm. If unhindered, Hannibal would find himself thrown back, his bicep clipped around the large cross at the front of the chapel by some black, gooey binding, his body sprawled out on the altar like a sacrificial bull.

"Stay."

"Go ahead." Hannibal told the priest, as if the man needed permission in the first place. "But, it's a bad idea for such a woman to be holding a briefcase knowing exactly what's inside and n knowing nothing of those who brought it here." Hannibal said, a slight smirk beginning to form on his otherwise serious face.

The Tunisian man watched as the priest approached Cynn with the briefcase, slowly turning his attention back to Paragon. In his old life Hannibal was a man, a soldier, a warrior. In his current life he was much of the same, but much more methodical in his approach.

So it was no surprise to him when Paragon shot out his projectile, Hannibal's reflexes were sharp. As the man he once was he had no chance of dodging or stopping something like that from anyone more than human.

As he was he had more speed, more strength, to go along with his quick reflexes. He was thankful for that, it meant he could stave off death or imprisonment for a little while longer. At least until he'd done his part.

His first course of action in prolonging his life as a living, free, man was to narrowly dodge the projectile. Hannibal was quick to grab hold of one of the chapel's benches, lifting it with little effort. A feat that might have been more impressive if your average strongman couldn't do it as well.

Hannibal waved the bench like a baseball bat at the Paragon, though it came off as half-hearted. Either a stalling tactic or a way to learn his enemy.

If Paragon was at all impressed with Hannibal's stamina, he didn't show it. As the terrorist wielded the heavy-wooden chapel bench like a little-league baseball bat, the demon simply swatted backhanded against the incoming attack. The wood shattered as if it were a glass vase, spraying chips of painted splinters against Paragon's mask. He did not flinch.

All at once he sprang forward, formerly motionless limbs blurring into coordinated action. He threw a narrow and swift hook to Hannibal's ear. A ruse. His left leg simultaneously lashed out against Hannibal's knee, perhaps catching the man off-guard as he might instinctively defend his face first. If the hook connected, the strike would pulverize the cartilage in Hannibal's ear, collapsing his external auditory canal and shattering his ear drum. If the kick landed, his knee would snap in two, his ACL halved, his collateral ligaments shattered.

Paragon would follow his assault with a swift uppercut from his free hand, his knuckles flying beneath the Tunisian's chin, perfectly intent on shattering his jaw. The force of the strike, if successful, would send Hannibal reeling backwards against the altar. Once again, black globs sprayed from his wrists, attempting to pin the man against the holy pulpit, subduing him for the time being.

"Well, wish me luck, father." Cynn said with a smile as she took the briefcase, and without further ado, launching herself into the air on a gust of unnatural wind. The concrete ceiling of the chapel burst open as she drew near it with a wave of her hand, and she rose swiftly through the building. Elevators and stairs were for squares, after all.

She burst onto the roof mere moments later, and with a forceful swing of her arm launched the briefcase into the air. Before it fell, it was caught in a globe of wind and the upwards rise continued. No doubt drawing attention from the law enforcement below, Cynn rose into the air after the briefcase, keeping at what she judged to be a safe distance whilst continuing to direct it up on a weave of wind magic.

Of course, she wasn't to know just how catastrophic the contained explosion would be. She intended to take the bomb high enough to prevent even a massive detonation reaching the buildings below.

Hannibal ducked to avoid the hook, raising an arm to stop the blow just in case it seem came close to hitting his head. It was then that he'd see Paragon's leg coming towards him.

The Tunisian man would raise his own leg, attempting to use his shin to deflect the kick. He followed up by attempting to shove his body into the Paragon. The intent was to send Paragon flying, or at least knock him back and create some distance.

"You're exactly what's wrong with this universe." Hannibal said despite the fighting, "No trial? No jail?" He asked.
