Crashing through the underbrush with snarls and barks, several dogs take the time to relieve themselves, sending streams of dark urine across the root base of the trees. The smell of the them is overwhelming, rotten meat and defecate-flecked matted fur. The lead dog urges the pack on; there is food in the air.

took off faster, tendrils of spittle dotted their flanks. It was the time for the hunt, to eat their fill on whatever they could find. The pack barked louder as a familiar scent filled their noses; rabbit. They were not stealthy hunters, they relied on numbers, savagery and terror. One or two rabbits would not fill their collective bellies and so, like it had been for years weaker members would have to be sacrificed.

The Pack of Feral Dogs snarled and bit at each other outside the human dwelling. Some of the pack sniffed around the main door; their noses bombarded with hundreds of smells not all of them pleasant. The Alpha growled and the animals took their place by his side. Only one bitch ran with the hunter-pack; a large framed beast that matched the Alpha's own savagery. Her head was the size of some of the pack's smaller members and her body contained thick corded muscles underneath a slate-grey, mange riddled coat. She barked; eyes rolling back in her head and phlegm sliding out of her mouth in ropy tendrils as she rushed the front door. The dog's two hundred pound body slamming into it cause the door to open and seeing their chance; the thirteen dogs of the hunter pack clamored into the bar barking loudly and expelling urine and thin feces in their wake.

The Pack of Feral Dogs mostly scattered to search for food and any interesting stains on the floor. A scarred, yellow haired dog incessantly barked by the entrance as he thought about a squirrel he once ate. Others of the pack made more of a display, jaws snapping the air and urinating in agitation. The dogs would be perceived as simple animals but there was a ballet at work, others were off stealthy looking for any meat they could drag back to their den. The Alpha eyed those with the sticks that caused dogs to die. He wasn't sure how they worked but the objects were pointed, a painful sound manifested and the unlucky dog ended up dead. He saw it before but he had to make sure. Barking twice he snapped at the dog closest to him to challenge the humans; a weak link that was older than most and the color of rotten leaves. The other dog bayed in reply and obediently lunged at those humans with the death-sticks with a savage snarl.

The Pack of Feral Dogs that were seen cocked their heads in confusion. The more hearty of the pack were silent while some of the younger members whimpered. It was a harsh life the Alpha knew and the old dog's sacrifice would not be in vain. Two emaciated dobermans, weaker than most descended on the the dog's corpse and began to tear into it, they were not foolish and learned to take a meal when it was offered. The Alpha snorted in approval at the the act and what was originally perceived as a few threats began to grow into something unmanageable. Four sharp barks sent some of the pack out the door including four dogs from a back room; the grey bitch carried a lump of packaged meat in her jaws as she scurried out the door. The two dogs feeding looked up at the crash, jaws bloody, barked twice and then left as well. The Alpha looked around at the remaining six dogs and barked the evacuation order before he left as well. The yellow dog covered their escape by spraying loose defecate on the floor and running towards the bar barking and hopping up and down.

The Pack of Feral Dogs snarled and snapped at each-others flanks. The new dogs and lesser bitches needed to understand the dynamic of the pack. The Beta male struggled to be first through the human door but was nudged out by the Alpha. It had been weeks since they hunted. The Alpha smelled people and where there was people, there was food. The pack had added some fresh strays - but they were all hungry, the scrawny bodies of slower dogs or what rotten food they could scavenge didn't make him salivate like what food came from this place.

Through the door, the seventeen dogs poured through. Barking, snarling and letting loose streams of orange defecate onto the floor. The Alpha had forgotten about the ground here, his long nails clicked on the smooth surface and none of the dogs could gain the traction they were accustomed to on grass or dirt. Human ground, human rules of which the Alpha despised. He urinated on the floor and barked to the others to mark the place, though this human ground would not be theirs, they would borrow it from time to time.

The Pack of Feral Dogs each had a task. Several were to just make themselves burdensome to the humans; knocking over their bowls, snapping at them just so the larger ones could take what they could from the food place. The Alpha looked at the humans and snarled, ears flattened, hunched down. He tried to evacuate his bowels again but from his anus only a melodic toot of gas which made him bark in surprise.

Some of the dogs made their way to the exit with mouths full of human treats. Most of which would not make it to the rest of the pack. The Alpha knew this and it would be better they think he provided for them, then they be after his throat. The dog barked again and smelled something he could not ignore. He did not know the smell but it was inviting.
