The White Pawns

The main unit of the White Grid Army, the eight leading Pawns seem to be named numerically.

Leaders:


Ichiryu: Leader of the First Infantry. His helmet has horns on the sides to set him apart from lower soldiers.

Niharu: Friend of Ichiryu's, and leader of the Second Infantry. His helmet has a blue feather attached to it.

Sanzuro: Leader of the Third Infantry. His helmet has a single horn attached to the front above the visor.

Shion: Friend of Sanzuro's, and leader of the Fourth Infantry. His armor has a green trim instead of gold.

Gosuke: Leader of the Fifth Infantry. His armor has a bronze trim instead of the gold one shown above.

Rokuro: Friend of Gosuke's, and leader of the Sixth Infantry. His armor has a red trim in place of the gold spots.

Shichi: The female leader of the Seventh Infantry, she has a light blue trim on her armor instead of gold.

Hachigo: The younger sister of Shichi, and leader of the Eighth Infantry. Her armor has a magenta trim instead of the gold one shown in the Unit Picture.

Personality

Ichiryu seems to be the most chivalrous of the group, with Niharu in a close second, followed by Sanzuro and so on. However, since there are so many of them it's hard to explain each and every leader's personality. So, I shall leave it at that for now. If you'd like to know what kind of people the leaders are, then I suggest you meet them while they're not on the Battle Grid. While these Pawns may not be the most experienced fighters, they will gladly fight for their kingdom even if it costs them their lives. Loyal to a fault, these soldiers always put their friends and allies before themselves.


White Pawns wield curved Short Swords and Large Shields, acting as the first line of defense in a battle. However they don't fight well alone, and are easily defeated if surrounded.


Rush Strike: "Together, everyone!" Orders all troops to gather and slash through the enemy. (Any commander; Not yet unlocked.)

History

This Chess Piece squadron comes from a land where battles are fought on what most people call a "Chess Board". To them however they refer to the board as a "Battle Grid". They seem to be sentient lifeforms, having their own language, culture, religion, and currency. In addition, they have established two kingdoms on their world who are currently at war.

The White Pawns walked into Gambit's Bar, at least the First Infantry unit did. "Sir Ichiryu, aren't we supposed to be watching out for allies of Black Grid?" one of the soldiers in white and gold armor asked a somewhat taller soldier with a horned helmet. "Why would the Black Grid army come to a place like this? Besides, the king never said we weren't allowed to visit this world's bar." Ichiryu replied to the lower-ranked Pawn. The soldiers all shrugged. "Yeah, you're probably right." the Pawns said, Ichiryu and the soldiers then approached the counter. If anybody heard their conversation though they most likely wouldn't be able to understand what was being said, since the Pawns spoke in their world's language.

The White Pawns were still at the counter, drinking some ale. However, Ichiryu would leave the counter having heard a bit of the conversation between Vampiric Rage and Aatu. "Ahem! Ahem. What is talk of weapons and shields?" he said, apparently he wasn't exactly fluent when it came to Terran or any similar language.
