The Varden are an extra/inter-universal, multi-dimensional, multi-planar coalition of races founded upon the edicts and principle of Arden. The group was originally founded to combat a corrupt government on a world of similar name but not location to the world of Terra upon which their future will soon unfold. Over the course of millennia the organization has blossomed into a huge democracy governed by a council at the center of one of the Ayenee universal occurrences. Members of the Varden are called Wardens.

The coalition of races are comprised of many different races and each race has seat at the counsel. Some of the races and a brief description of each race follows.

Ardenian - The direct descendants of Arden and Eluv resemble humans at first glance in all but the shifting color of their eyes. Dyew is a member of this race and details of their capabilities can be located within his profile. The vast majority of Ardenians are deists and the government is a federal constitutional monarchy that could also be considered a federal representative democracy with a parliamentary system. Their home planet location: Ayenee, Rodull, Terra.

Varsahar - The Varsahar are spiritually interred Ardenian volunteers that act as the driving force behind much of the Varden's machinery. Most other cultures believe that the label refers only to a group of sentient machines and valorium constructs. The Varshar carry on among the Ardenian people and share many of their theistic and political views. Their home planet location: Ayenee, Rodull, Terra.

Human - The most diverse and numerous, humans account for about thirty percent of the total population on Varden worlds. They vary widely in creed, color, religion, and culture. They do not call any one planet their home.

Zolarian - Without the Zolarian race the Ardenian people could not and would not have been. The Zolarian are by far the most ancient of races within the Varden. This is the race that Alana was born into. They are extremely strong psions and have the most advanced travel technology. While the majority of the Varden work with advanced armor systems the Zolarian use shield systems as their primary defense. They have a similar appearance to Humans or Ardenians but their eye color shifts very much like the Ardenians but in a range from gold to green. They are almost exclusively atheists. Their government system is considered a federal constitutional monarchy. Their home planet location: Eden, Erza, Zolaria

Solari - Under Construction

Personality

The Pledge

Under the witness of the stars, forward I stand on the brink of anew and as knowing this, grasp do I the sword Valor. Take it do I, knowing in full well, that all things end and that I take this to slow the unyielding force of ending. I take this sword knowing the blood of my sisters and my brothers lies of its blade. I take this to bring them victory where they hath had defeat and hope where they had none. I take this and I swear never do I kill without cause. My blade defends only the innocent and weak. My blade rises only against those whom seek to bring harm to that of which I am sworn to protect. Knowing all this and being of sound heart and mind do I take this sword, Valor and swear my honor. This I swear.

The Code
These are not laws.

A Warden protects the weak and defenseless.
A Warden gives succor to widows and orphans.
A Warden refrains from the wanton giving of offense.
A Warden lives by honor and for glory.
A Warden despises pecuniary reward.
A Warden fights for the welfare of all.
A Warden obeys those placed in authority.
A Warden guards the honor of their fellow Wardens.
A Warden eschews unfairness, meanness and deceit.
A Warden speaks the truth at all times.
A Warden perseveres to the end in any enterprise begun.
A Warden never refuses a challenge from an equal.
A Warden never turns their back upon a foe.

I am sworn to valor. I know only virtue. I defend the helpless. My might upholds the weak. My word speaks only truth. My wrath undoes the wicked.

The Edicts

-- "People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it’s true, or because they’re afraid it might be true. Peoples’ heads are full of knowledge, facts and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool."
-- "The greatest harm can result from the best of intentions."
-- "Passion rules reason."
-- "There is magic in forgiveness; in the forgiveness you give, but more so in the forgiveness you receive."
-- "Mind what people do, not only what they say for deeds will betray a lie."
-- "The only sovereign you can allow to rule you is reason. The first law of reason is this: what exists, exists, what is, is and from this irreducible bedrock principle, all knowledge is built. It is the foundation from which life is embraced. Thinking is a choice. Wishes and whims are not facts nor are they a means to discover them. Reason is our only way of grasping reality; it is our basic tool of survival. We are free to evade the effort of thinking, to reject reason, but we are not free to avoid the penalty of the abyss that we refuse to see. Faith and feelings are the darkness to reasons light. In rejecting reason, refusing to think, one embraces death."
-- "Life is the future, not the past. The past can teach us, through experience, how to accomplish things in the future, comfort us with cherished memories, and provide the foundation of what has already been accomplished. But only the future holds life. To live in the past is to embrace what is dead. To live life to its fullest, each day must be created anew. As rational, thinking beings, we must use our intellect, not a blind devotion to what has come before, to make rational choices."
-- "Deserve Victory."
-- "A contradiction can not exist in reality. Not in part, nor in whole. To believe in a contradiction is to abdicate your belief in the existence of the world around you and the nature of the things in it, to instead embrace any random impulse that strikes your fancy – to imagine something is real simply because you wish it were. A thing is what it is, it is itself. There can be no contradictions. Faith is a device of self-delusion, a sleight of hand done with words and emotions founded on any irrational notion that can be dreamed up. Faith is the attempt to coerce truth to surrender to whim. In simple terms, it is trying to breath life into a lie by trying to outshine reality with the beauty of wishes. Faith is the refuge of fools, the ignorant, and the deluded, not of thinking, rational men. In reality, contradictions cannot exist. To believe in them you must abandon the most important thing you possess: your rational mind. The wager for such a bargain is your life. In such an exchange, you always lose what you have at stake."
-- "Willfully turning aside from the truth, is treason to oneself."

From Left to Right: Myrkr, Sverd, Koma, and Rond Personal Defense Systems

Myrkr - VP101 - The Myrkr personal defense system is primarily used by snipers and reconnaissance soldiers. This armor uses primarily shield based defensive systems. It does enhance the wearer’s physical attributes as well as their reaction time but not as much as other armors. The user’s senses are enhanced to a staggering degree. Among the additions that are common to all Varden personal armors is an advanced cloaking device that renders the wearer all but undetectable. The short range teleportation system allows for near instantaneous transportation provided the wearer has line of sight with the desired destination and as long as a Varden capital ship is within a range of seven astronomical units. Advanced sensors allow the wearer to more easily detect other cloaked entities. The self-contained and adaptive filtration system of all Varden personal defense systems coupled with the drop system allows a wearer to enter an atmosphere or drop from high altitude and low orbit to arrive safely on the surface of a terrestrial planet.
Sverd - VP102 - The Sverd personal defense system is used by most Varden soldiers. This armor uses a mixture of shield and armor based defensive systems. Its does enhance the wearer’s physical attributes as well as their reaction time by an impressive amount. Its most notable fitting is the suit’s adaptive defense system that allows the suit to adapt to most assaults provided it survives a small number of initial assaults of a specific type. The other system fit to this suit is the adapt system which causes the wearer's physical attributes to shift up or down across the spectrum and on a fulcrum at the soldier's need automatically.
Koma - VP103 - Under Construction
Rond - VP104 - Under Construction

Vanguard - VP105 - Under Construction

Elemental - VP106 - The Elemental personal defense system is rare and almost exclusively used by humans. This armor uses a mixture of shield and armor based defense systems. This system is fit with many of the same advanced systems as the Myrkr, Sverd, Koma, and Rond suits. Outside of the Vanguard system it is the most highly advanced personal defense system the Varden can field.

Lancer - VP14 - The lancer is a magazine-fed, short-to-mid range weapon offering fully automatic fire. Charged plasma munitions are pumped into a cyclotron that converts the plasma into a highly lethal bolt before it is expelled from the chamber. Upon impact with the target, the magnetic field surrounding the bolt collapses, venting superheated plasma onto the contact point. The Lancer can also be fitted with a number of different attachments to include a grenade launcher, different scopes, and other attachments. It can be fielded with a number of different hybrid munition types.

The blue tinged mechanical cat like robot, familiar to Markuss but not many others stalked into the bar, coiled and lounged at the corner of the bar counter where it had been before. It was the same one evident by the inscription on the shoulder.

Kathrine's ocular focused on the back of Shelia's head but more specifically the conversation she was having with Markuss. Other than that she just remained like a big cat, lazily lounging near the other end of the bar.

Kathrine stirred and slowly stalked forward. "Are all the military types of Terra so corrupt that they would antagonize the local population so?". Her cold, hollow, sad sounding voice echoed from the vicinity of the Varsahar. She was addressing Markuss more than Sheila.

Varden the Varsahar known as Kathrine entered the bar and took her usually seat or more correctly, spot on the floor near the corner of the bar counter. The ocular seemed to be focused on Markuss.

Kathrine stalked into the bar, pausing at the corner where she normally lounged and stared directly at Dyew and then to Markuss. The blue tinged alloy that composed the cat like machine froze motionless, observing.

Kathrine stalked up to where Dyew and Markuss had been seated, staring up at Dyew. It was Kathrine that spoke first. "You are not that Dyew.", she spoke in a cold, hollow sounding voice before turning and starting to leave.

Varden looked at her and his eyes followed the cat like machine as it started to leave. "I could eventually be that Dyew.", he said to Kathrine as the Varsahar stalked away. This caused Kathrine to stop, turn around and sit upon the floor. Dyew tilted his eyes to Markuss.

Varden took a seat close to were Alana would eventually seat herself. "I will listen if you will talk though my mind is muddled with the possibilities and apparent futures as they splinter off into the void and are gone. How can I serve you lady?", he said to Keeper Alana. It was true, he had not told her everything when he had meet her that first time for you see he had already meet her and to maintain the line of time he could not tell her his past with her which would soon be her future with him. The twisted path of time lay before and behind him.

The Varden soldiers did not seem perturbed or worried about the demon. They knew that such a being would be a lavish meal for the one they protected.
