Abilities & Equipment

Vampiric Physiology - Vayne, having succumbed to the curse of vampiric blood, has been granted heightened physical prowess far beyond that of any mortal creature. His strength, agility and stamina have been increased exponentially, allowing him to achieve great feats with relative ease.

Martial Prowess - Vayne has attained mastery in the art of swordplay, as well as several forms of unarmed combat. Coupled with his frightening physical ability, these

Void Magics - Having tapped into a strange and demonic dimension known as the Void, Vayne has attained control over its dark energies, allowing him to wield devastating magical abilities:

  • Hellfire Conjuration - The ability to summon and command the very flames of Hell, Vayne channels these embers to scorch the flesh of his enemies. An overwhelming offensive tool in his hands, these fires are quite dangerous.
  • Dark Orb - Orbs of pure Void energy, bearing electric currents within them. These particularly volatile projectiles bear a highly destructive amount of energy, capable of decimating their targets.
  • Telekinesis - The ability to move objects and people with one's own will of mind. The harder Vayne concentrates on a particular focal point, the more control he has over the ensnared party.
  • Necromancy - Ghouls, wraiths, skeletons; they're all the same. Raising the dead is an effective method for garnering a force of minions to do one's own bidding. Vayne often utilizes this ability to amass enough henchman to carry out some horrific deed.
  • Mind Control - Utilizing Void energies, Vayne is able to affect another person's mind, bending them to his will. Particularly useful for attaining extra help on a certain task.
  • Intangibility - With the ability to shift between the material and spectral planes, Vayne can become intangible; a useful power for avoiding physical damage and sneaking into certain structures.

Transformation - As a particularly powerful vampire, Vayne can transform into a beastial, demonic form. In this state, he has highly increased strength, speed and senses, but loses part of his rational mind, as the beast's basic instincts are more dominant while he is transformed.

Valerie - A sword bearing the name and soul of Vayne's late wife. The blade was given to him by a necromancer, who said that by placing the woman's soul into the blade upon her death, she would be reborn from the blade itself. Doing as instructed Vayne was able to transplant his beloved's very spirit into the sword. However, the blade kept its own form, and did not resurrect Valerie as promised. Vayne has since wandered the land, taking as many lives with the blade as he can, of the belief that if it tastes enough blood it will revive his long-lost bride. Sometimes, Vayne can hear Valerie's voice emanating from the sword.

Cloak of the Unholy Flame - A black cloak interwoven with fiery threads. The cloak itself has been blessed by unholy magic, protecting the wearer from volatile attacks and magics of a holy nature. This cloak has saved Vayne's unlife against many a vampire hunter thinking themselves more powerful than he.

Darkforge Armor - Armor pieces forged in Hellfire, and imbued with other magical wards. These armor pieces protect Vayne from the harmful effects of sunlight and other UV rays, as well as holy magic. They also increase his physical ability, making him stronger and more agile.

Vincent looked her over, her taking the plastic card in hand and offering to pay for his services. "That will be fine, so long as your company is willing to cover the expenses. Come, show me where you live."

With that, he headed for the entrance, leaving onto the ground and out into the city to wherever it was Noella resided.

---

Outside the perimeter of the grounds, he wandered, his sharp, vampiric eyes keeping a close watch on the young man as he left the building with a nervous-looking lady in tow. He was familiar with this particular Hunter; he was called the son of the headmaster, an adopted bastard left to die on Lutetia's streets, and likely would have if Thaddeus had not come along.

He knew the scent of Vincent's blood; it smelled of anger and confusion. Vayne would have to exploit that, someday.

Someday...
