The Vaaki Syndicate was the brainchild of a group of criminals who thought that the Galaxy really needed to unify it's criminals before it was far too late, with all the spell slinging, gun toting, and psion mind bending badness. It has been decades since they've brewed up trouble and twiddling with their thumbs was an active hobby.
They've segmented themselves into two groups: The enforcers, bodyguards and heavies go into protection duties for the various resources that the Vaaki seek to control or already control, ready to pound, crush, shoot and kill whoever gets in their way. These guys are your go to guy for having backup on a deal or when you need to hire some real illegal firepower.
The second group are the traders, black market dealers and anybody that has something to sell that isn't allowed on the main trade floor. If it's gun smuggling, drug manufacturing or dealing in religious or not so religious artefacts of power these boys are probably selling it.
The Vaaki control a black market built underneath Wing City which the criminal underground have taken to calling the Vaaki Undermarket. All manner of relics, guns, drugs and slaves go though the Undermarket on their way out of Terra. It is expansive and entry is bought with getting in good with the enforcers who come tattooed with exclusive UV light tattoos.
The Vaarki have always played their cards close to their chests but with the recent posession of a relic that can only really be classified as one of those 'I would have ended the universe as we know it if it weren't for you pesky kids.' types, they can't wait to offload the defunct piece of shit before the WCPD come down on their heads, which it might already be too late.
