Setting
As the room grew ever worse, all bright and shallow points would dim into nothing and then it would move over the floor, no sounds as soundless treads would approach the sleeping form of a couple; the man was fairly well built with an arm draped over the girl, whom seemed romantically attached, rather than mutually sharing pleasure.
Thus it would appear, a girl with red eyes and blonde hair wearing a cardigan, she would stroke the brow of the female, and then begin, whispering, "Darkness... alone... he's gone... he's gone... you are alone... you are alone... he left you... they will all leave you, they will all leave you." horror filled the girl's face as Hitomi fingers left her brow, and moved to the boy, she would delve deep into his mind and suggest, "You are weak, you are puny... you will lose her... she does not want you except for your strength... look at you now... so weak, so pathetic, you ought to go kill yourself."
With that she would exit the room, smirking, as she vanished once more into the shadows, her power growing as they lived into horrific nightmares.
Farai raised a brow, then leaned against the door to peer through the keyhole.
"What in the world...?"
"Where is it?" The figured muttered as they stuffed some cash into their pocket. Yup...a thief.
This was Alix's apartment before. Who the hell was ransacking it?
"Hey!" cried Farai. "Freeze!"
They raised up their arm slowly. "I am unarmed, ya can search me if ya want too..." They had a small southern drawl to them. One that had been beaten down with travel but had lived on.
"I am gonna give ya a warnin though. If ya hurt me I AM gonna hurt ya back." How a one armed person would do that...well that had yet to be seen.
"...who the hell are you? I...wait." Farai dropped their arm, peering closely. "N-no...really? Is that you? A-Alix?"
Farai, themself, had changed. Their hair had grown out, and they were wearing slightly different clothes to their style. More casual clothing. No trench coat or chains. Just a baggy shirt and jeans. The look in their eyes had changed, too, but...it was still Farai. And that figure before them was undoubtedly who they thought it was.
"Holy hell."
"Holy..." Alix took in the figure before them, their eyes glistening but they quickly wiped it away with their arm.
The former cook of Gambit's looks had certainly changed.
In honesty they looked like hell. They had a burn mark on their neck and part of their earlobe was missing. Their face was bruised and bloody, the nose was probably broken.
Their hoodie...well if was more possibly for that ratty ass thing to become even more ratty it was. The cook was wearing a new coat over it though. A long trench coat that had a few buttons buttoned up.
The biggest change though was the fact that the cook apparently had lost their arm. "Farai...it...tell me that if this is a dream that I ain't gonna wake up anytime soon..."
"Oh, my God, you're alive."
The punk rushed forth, arms opening to envelop the cook in a warm, but gentle embrace. There was a hoarse cry, then a sob. "Where did you go, man? What the hell happened..."
"It ain't a dream...oh praise be it ain't no dream." The cook sobbed out, embracing Farai tightly.
"I...I went back through the portal with One." Alix said softly, shaking a bit. "But I guess that don't explain why I was gone for so long now does it..."
The punk was trying so hard to stop the tears from flowing, but they were there. Pouring down their cheeks, off their chin.
"And I should of come back sooner but I can honestly say that I couldn't. When One and I went back through the portal...we didn't end back up in the cave where I thought we would've...I almost...well died back on my planet...thought I was goin too..." Their voice grew soft before Alix sighed.
"But he did. I didn't want to but I had too. I then wandered around for so long...I even went back home...they weren't to keen on seein me again..." Alix looked down at their right side, the one that didn't seem to have an arm.
"But eventually I made it back to the cave...but that presented another problem. I needed to destroy it...after a lot of thinkin and a lot of luck I managed to collapse the damn entrance... and then the whole fuckin cave just as I went into the portal. I did the same to the other one that I exited out of...but I suppose....I am sorry Farai...I should've...told ya somethin...Can ya ever forgive me for all the shit I put ya through?"
"Jesus Christ, Alix, how the hell can I be mad at you for long? Look at you...we...we have to get you out of those terrible clothes...and clean you up...and you need someone to get you medical help...oh my God you really should have come to me first, Alix, I swear..."
"God I missed ya..." Alix said softly before looking down at their clothes. "I suppose ya are right...I need to mend my hoodie up and...can ya help me out of this coat? It is hard as hell to unbutton somethin with only one hand ya know? As for medical help...well I won't oppose to it but it ain't to bad...I don't think it is at least...how bad does it look? And I woulda went to ya first but...well...I didn't know where ya were or...or if ya would even want to see me again...which was stupid but still was a thought."
"Here...come on down to my place. I have a house now. You didn't know, did you? And...I kinda got a family now. Sorta. Ragtag bunch of teenagers living there. Just...come on by there...and we'll help you get patched up, okay?"
"Ya got a house? Man I have missed a lot..." Alix said softly before sighing. "But that is better then missin everythin...oh! Speakin of ya gettin a family...I remember ya sayin ya liked someone once. Ya ever tell that person?" The cook asked with a ragged smile. "Whoever it is is a lucky person...but they better be good enough for ya."
"C'mon, Alix. I think you'll like Gabs a lot. She'll help. I...you...we just need to get you back into shape. That arm is looking terrible. I don't know what you did to even get so beat up."
