- Personality
The golden girl has a fully developed sense of pride, not only in her heroism, but in her civilian life as well. She believes firmly in the choices she's made, whether or not the negative or positive effect they've had on her life. She hasn't met a time traveler yet, so there's no reason to dwell on the past or the future if she has no say in it now. Dot is a girl who likes to get things done, now. A streak of impatience and an overall fast-paced lifestyle has left the young woman with a sense of never having enough time, because everything else takes too much time. Maybe she should slow down- she isn't a speedster afterall -but that's not exactly like her to do that.
This energy can sometimes be detrimental to the heroic behavior, because diving in without thinking things through can often lead to dangerous, even fatal, situations. Headstrong as she may be, with a gentle, guiding hand, she is able to stem the side of her that says "let's just get this done!" and really think through her next course of action.
Being from a wealthy family does give one a sense of "money can fix everything", and Dot has to battle that sense of spontaneity and lack of responsibility, especially with the other heroes. Dot wants to be a person unswayed by how money can make everything so easy, because easy doesn't always mean good. The pursuit of goodness in the world, the driving desire to be that good in the world, is what originally drew Dot to heroism. Sure, it's pretty cool to have parts of the body turn gold at will, but she wanted more. To be as beloved as the Silver Lady, to be as needed as the Shadow, to be as powerful as the heroes that society deems their protectors and saviors. To be wanted- needed -as more than the heir to the King of Gold throne or a doll to play dress up with. To have a purpose more than what anyone else expects from her.
She may be fiesty, at times more forward than she should be, or even downright aggressive for the right cause. It's only because she cares much too deeply for her family and friends. Rich people put value into relationships as business connections, Dot knows that well. It is the relationships she's gained through being a hero that have created a protective side in the young woman. Saving everyone includes heroes, whether they realize it or not.
But when you're saving everybody, who's there to save you? Dot can be quite the stubborn one, unwilling to leave the battle zone or step back from a mission, even if her own safety is at risk. Better to achieve good today than risk evil tomorrow.

Agility: . . . Intense training in ballet and gymnastics has transferred well into special skills for missions. Knowing the body and what it can handle has given Dot an edge in the agility department, since she can use the most of her flexibility and the lightness of her movements.
Durability: . . . A combination of various training, from spending hours in the gym, to personal endurance sessions with Silver, Dot has taken her body to its limits and continues to push through, even when it's the hardest to do so.

Intellect: . . .Dot isn't unintelligent, but she has never been much of an academic learner. To be perfectly frank, even some common sense can fly past her on occasion. She can hold her on in history, mostly because her memory keeps up with all the dates and people, but learning chemicals and formulas, or trying to analyze a Shakespearean poem, count her out.
Doubt: . . .Sometimes she wonders if she was even meant to be a hero. She cheated the system, recreating the accident that gave her mentor silver mimicry. Was it fate that she came to be this way, or her own selfish desires? This became a more prevalent feeling after a villain took her hostage while on a mission with Silver Lady, causing her to believe she's only a burden.
.... Quirks

Almost always listening to music
Chews gum when not training or on a mission, but only the Icebreaker mint gum, the square kind.
Messes with her hair when nervous, sometimes just twirling in it her finger, sometimes she braids little strands of it to calm down.
. .. Fear

Losing Silver: Caring so much for someone who puts their life on the line everyday is a risky thing to do, and it terrifies Dot everyday that her mentor might not survive another mission. She is highly protective and will sometimes shirk her own safety for the safety of Silver.
Falling: Something else from the accident that just stuck with her.

- History
Dotty lived a life better than princesses in her young mind: they lived in stuffy castles and wore uncomfortable dresses, while she got to roam the ecosystem of Canadian elitists. Dubbed the "Princess of Gold" early on, her parents were keen to give her a modest amount of media attention without overwhelming her with the hoards of paparazzi that plagued other wealthy people. She wasn't going to be another spoiled brat, that wouldn't fly with her parents. She was enrolled into ballet and gymnastics as soon as she could walk, and under the best instructors Canadian gold manufacturing could buy, she flourished.
Her lessons were basically the only time she saw people her own age, because when she wasn't in training, she was schmoozing with her parent's friends and creating connections she could use for networking later. A eight-year-old doesn't understand networking, but if the eight-year-old is given a lollipop if she does some of her tricks to impress her parents' friends, well, that's just in good fun. Dotty played the part of ballerina, gymnast, businesswoman, heiress, but never really got to try out being a friend. Sure, she knew some of the other children from her parents' friends, and some of the children who worked under her instructor, but nobody she really could call her "friend".
Around her tenth birthday, a woman her mother had gone to school with for many years, a very close friend of her family, had an accident at her silver factory. Miranda Argent's silver factory was the middle ground for a vat of radioactive silver, and the catwalk above the vat broke, sending Miss Argent into the liquid metal below. Dot would discover, through a tour of Argent's Quebec location, that the accident turned her into the Silver Lady, Toronto's leading lady in heroism.
Dot decided for her twelfth birthday she would take her own dive. She managed to get King of Gold as a middle ground for radioactive gold, and her parents set up parameters to ensure that another accident like Miranda's wouldn't occur at their own factory. They didn't take into consideration that someone, especially their own daughter, would voluntarily plunge into the vat. As the gold filtered its way into her body, she spent a few weeks in a private clinic, where she could scream and holler as much as her lungs could stand. It was an incredibly painful process, but in the end, got her exactly where she wanted to be. Miranda visited her once she was properly healed, and they went into intense training to prepare Dot to be her protege. Once Dot was fourteen, she was allowed to officially become a hero, the Golden Girl. Her status as a hero has given her a whole new world, a world with superpowers and costumes and friends.
Dot a request to join the New Guardians soon after her fifteenth birthday. Coming off of a hostage situation involving her and a villain who chopped off her finger and tortured her to get to Silver Lady, this is her proving ground, reminding Silver that she isn't a burden, but a powerful hero.
