Katerina Goldsworthy's Story

While the night approached a black camaro drove up to a newly sold large house. A moving truck wasn't too far behind it. Once the camaro was parked just outside a girl got out of the car. Her black combat boots walked along the sidewalk and matched the black vest she wore over her white spaghetti strap shirt with her denim shorts. She walked into the house leaving the door unlocked for the movers. The girl picked up her ink black hair into a ponytail and looked around at the unfurnished livingroom, sighing with content. As the moving truck pulled up she went back outside and lifted the door to the truck. She started taking out a few boxes and let the movers handle the heavier things. She went back inside and placed the boxes on the floor then opened them with a box cutter. She slightly cut her finger and muttered a curse but watched as it healed very quickly to the point as if it was never there. She opened up the other box as the movers came in with the furniture. The girl stood and took the boxes to the kitchen. She put the dishes into the cabinet that was attatched to the wall like with many houses. She put utensils in certain draws making sure which was the right one. She turned and was greeted with the sight of a furnished living room while the movers were in the process of bringing furnture up to the rooms. She took out one specific box from the moving truck and when she opened it to reveal two bottles of vodka, a bottle of whiskey and a few other bottles of liquor. She smiled as she put the bottles in other cabinets.
Once everything was done she plopped down on the couch and sighed of exhaustion. She was glad she had finally moved and the movers were now gone. She went up to her room and slept awaiting the next day.

When morning approached Katerina awoke. She had finished unpacking the rest of the boxes and put her clothes in her closet, now all that was missing was food. Kat had to go to the grocery store and the blood bank. She had done her daily routine of hygiene, showering, brushing her teeth of that sorts. She wore her black and white converse a red plaid skirt and a black quarter-sleeved shirt and black tights underneath her skirt. Kat drove to the nearest grocery store using the gps on her phone. She shopped and ignored the odd looks she got. Kat new she was a bit paler and shorter than the average person and knowing she was new to town she didn't care. After finishing at the grocery store she had snuck into a nearby hospital.
She went where the blood was stored and stole a few bags of it. She stored them into a container and walked out of the hospital like nothing happened. She quickly went home to drop everything off and properly put things away then she left her car and went back out. Kat wished to learn more of Parkwood and get a feel for what it was like there.

Kat walked to the park and sat at the swings. She sighed due to boredom and in the little while she had traveled around she hadn't found much to keep her busy or to seize her boredom. She sighed again as she started swinging. Kat heard the children running around with their mothers either watching them, calling after them or playing with some of them and yet again ignored the odd looks given to her. Kat knew she may have looked childish but she didn't much about that. She continued swinging getting higher until she was as high as she could be.

Kat's swinging soon stopped and she sat still on the swings. Kat sighed yet again due to boredom and looked around until her eyes landed on a nearby tree. She lightly clenched her fist and suddenly the branch that was attached to the tree broke off and fell onto the sidewalk. She raised two finger making the branch move suddenly into the street and onto the other sidewalk. Kat moved her hand back and forth with her eyes still on the tree while the leaves suddenly fell to the ground until there were only a few left. Katerina stopped once the tree barely had any leaves left.

Kat soon stood up and left the park. She hadn't spent much time there therefore she was still bored. Katerina walked until she passed a hotel. She stopped with a sudden idea. Katerina was a trustfund baby but she didn't want to live off of that money for the rest of her life. Kat decided that it'd be best to start searching for employment and the hotel she now stood in front of could be a good place to start. With that though in mind she walked in and began talking to the concierge of possible job openings.

Katerina quickly regained her serious compsure. "Sorry its just your scent is that of a human's so I was wondering what you were exactly but you don't have to answer if you don't want to." Kat meant what she said but hoped that Sym would answer. Katerina didn't want to rudely pressure her into answering the question. She was certain that Slade wasn't human either and by the looks of it she guessed that they were related somehow but not certain of their actual relation.

Kat glanced over at Slade. "I assume you're not human either right?" She noticed that his scent was the same as Sym's so she knew that they belonged to the same species what she didn't know is what exactly they were and how strong they were but she held no intentions of angering them or becoming enemies with them but she didn't expect becoming friendly with them either.

She sighed at his question-like statement before nodding. "Yes I am its why I know you and Sym aren't human but I was born a vampire so I have different abilities than normal vampires." She sighed again before turning her gaze to Sym. "I left my number on the application so if you decide to employ me just give me a call. I'll get going now." Kat went to the door and gave one glance back before waking outside and in the direction of her house, hoping to not get lost on the way.

"So I'll be at the hotel tomorrow and tell Sym I said thanks for the job." Katerina stood up and fixed her clothes properly. "I'll see you around Slade." She started walking out of the park and towards her home.

Kat vetured home fairly quickly. She showered and changed before plopping down on her bed. She sighed reminiscing of today's events and set the alarm on her phone to wake her up fairly early. She attempted to fall asleep but didn't have much luck in drifting off. Katerina sighed as she sat up, after an hour of attempting to fall asleep.

Katerina angirly woke up to the annoying and loud noise of her alarm. She grabbed her phone and turned it off before picking out her clothes and heading into the bathroom. She showered, brushed her teeth and changed into a pair of dark denim skinny jeans, a red spaghetti strap shirt and a black leather jacket over it with her black combat boots. She straightened her hair and let it cascade down her back. Kat grabbed her phone, making sure to keep it in her back pocket, then left. She drove to the hotel in her black camaro and parked it near the hotel, before walking through the hotel doors.

Kat walked in looked to see if Sym was around. She hadn't known what the actual job was but she figured Sym would tell her once Kat found her.

Katerina noticed Slade when she walked in but said nothing. She didn't care much that he didn't greet her and it didn't come as a surprise to her that he may immensely dislike her she just thought he was like everyone else that hated her.

Kat listened intently to Sym's instructions and nodded after her explanation. "It doesn't sound all that difficult." She looked around at the lobby as to where she should start before a thought popped back into her head. "Wait do I have to change or anything?" Kat turned her glance back to Sym in a questioning manner but not mean, or rude, just like two aquaintences would speak.

Katerina sat abruptly with a jolt. She'd heard that scream all too many times from those she cared for. She rushed uptsairs where she heard the scream from. Kat felt utter relief when she saw Sym was fine. She took her leav from where the room was and went back downstairs. She didn't want to intrude on them especially after she heard Sym scream like that.

Kat had left after hearing Sym scream. It wasn't her business and she didn't want to intrude on them but as she left she saw what looked like Sym. She stood hiding in the shadows a good distance from her. By the time Kat reached where the bodies were it was too late. She wondered what happened to her. Katerina saw Erieda, Slade and a blonde boy. Kat stayed close to Sym to see if she could decipher what was going on but she had no luck.She stopped hiding in the shadows after a bit once the police came. She left elsewhere until she saw Sym and Slade. Katerina was taken aback when she saw him hit her. For her own reasons she felt anger arise in her but she understood why he did it. Kat knew that he was trying to get herself back to her original self. When Sym went to the tree that Sym told her must be her life tree she wanted to help her. After she fell and started speaking in another language she understood it because of how long she spent learning of other supernatural creatures. Katerina finally made herself known once she saw more of how Sym was acting.

As Kat walked a piece of the newspaper was near her on the sidewalk only something about it caught her eye. ' Anniversary Of Slaughtered Family.' As Kat read the top of the page she felt anger arise in her. She picked up the paper and read through parts of the article. What she read notified other readers that the mother of three was killed mercilessly along with the two youngest of her children. The father, whom is suspect in all of it, was believed to have murdered his family then fled. The eldest daughter was missing and all of this happened in Parkwood three years ago. The name of the missing daughter was at the bottom of the page and also the fact that no one knows whether or not the daughter is still alive. Kat read on until the end where the name Katerina Goldsworthy was stated as the missing daughter. Once Kat was done reading it she crumpled the paper up and kicked it away from her but it un-crumpled as it was in the air and slowly fell to the ground. Kat kicked over a trashcan in anger making a loud noise as it fell. She didn't care about the noise as she ran her hands through her hair and felt sorrow overcoming her. Kat refused to cry and a tried to shake off the sadness.

Kat decided to go home. The article shook her up enough. When she got home she turned on the t.v and it was on a random new station. She turned shockd as she heard her name and the reporters standing outside a, now run-down and abandoned, mansion. They spoke about the article she had read but Katerina couldn't bear to hear it again so she quickly shut off the t.v. She backed up into a nearby wall shaking her head. She felt her eyes water with the tears that threatened to spill but she blinked them away as she slid to the ground in sorrow.

Katerina decided to drown her sorrows in alcohol. She'd drunken half a bottle of vodka and was officially drunk by now. She stumbled out of her house and walked around until the scent and aura of someone who was at least part witch caught her. She looked around but saw no one until she looked back at the house she stood in front of. As she approached it a bit the scent and aura became stronger. "A witch who would've thought." She giggled in her drunken stupor. Katerina made herself sober up easily as she approached the door. She could easily become sober if she focused her energy on the parts of her brain that made her different when drunk and revert them back to normal. It was like an instinct and came in handy a few times. She wasn't fully sober and wouldn't be for a bit because even if she was to sober up by using her energy it didn't make her completely sober immediately. Right now Kat was determined for her own personal reasons and if she wished to have her goals accomplished she may need the help of a witch so she knocked on the door and noticed a ducati parked outside of the house.

Katerina gave up when she hadn't gotten an answer from the resident. She left and began walking again until she near the theater. She sensed a vampire nearby and followed the scent until she saw Slade, the blonde boy she saw before and a female vampire from before. "Wow a demon king, a witch, and another vampire all in one day." Kat eyed the femal but also noticed how Slade and the other boy looked. Katerina started picking up the scent of a demon that was slowly disappearing because they were no longer there. "By the looks of it I'd say the demon king's son was here."
