Name: Amanda Jessica Thornhill
Nicknames:Mandy, Jessie, Ice Princess, (the list goes on an on from what others call her...)
Age: 19
Sexuality: Straight

Power: Amanda has the power of blood manipulation. Whether it be her own blood or even someone else’s blood, she can control it to her will. For those who don't know, what exactly Blood Manipulation is, its simply to be summoned up as Amanda says, "A very dangerous and bloody power." She's not all powerful now, don't get to thinkin oh, she's a nice power, but a dangerous one at that, she can kill me!... Well it's true should she ever unlock the full potential of her powers, she could kill someone, but that's not anywhere near soon. The main thing with blood is she could stop it from flowing, letting it clot, or she could let someone bleed to death.

She's strong around blood banks, and hospitals, (I mean they do have a lot of blood). Amanda could make small beads of blood form and solidify to where they literally are pellets of death... or at least serious pain. Should she come into contact with someone, holding their hand, brushing against their arm, she could tell if they are dying, or have a horrible disease in them, as long as its a bloodborne illness, for she can only sense what is in the bloodstream.

Her immune system is strong, very strong. She has never been sick before, at least from what she can remember.

The only drawbacks that a blood manipulator like her have, is well, she can't regenerate blood, it has to be near her, or around her. If she's bleeding, and she tries using her powers, it will draw upon her lifeforce instead of someone elses. She has to be healed... or at least the bleeding has to be stopped.

Likes:
`Lollipops
`Music
`Shopping

Dislikes:
>Bad Hair Days
>Rude People
>Being Broke
>Old Clothes
> Soda

Fears:
-People finding out her past...
-Loosing her powers of Blood Manipulation
-Spiders... they're just too disgusting
-Suddenly not being popular anymore...

Skills:
~ She's able to speak French and Italian and some spanish. Her parents made sure she knew how to speak in other languages
~She's good at money management. Just becuase she does a lot of shopping, she knows when somethings a rip off and when its best to save your money for something else.
~Balance, She used to be in ballet, she knows how to keep her balance in almost everything.
~Persuasion-She can talk to anybody, and convince them to do almost anything for her...
~Dedication, She might act like she doesn't want to be there, but when she sets her mind to something, she never gives up!

Deficits:
>Short Attention Span-She's always easily distracted by something much more interesting...
>Bluntness-She's so rude and harsh with her truths, that it's hard for people to even be around her.
>Cat Allergy- She's highly allergic to cats, they're disgusting furballs...
>High Maintenance- Never will you catch her going through a swamp, or mud puddle...someone would have to carry her...or she'll just find a way around it
>Temper Tantrums-When she doesn't get her way, expect one of these... they can give you a headache...

Personality:

Everyone is quick to Judge Amanda, then again Amanda is quick to judge everyone else. A sly, snobbish bitch is what she prefers to be. She's cold, cruel and harsh to others who she deems unworthy of being her friend. Which makes up for 99% of the people she interacts with on a daily basis. She seems to have no heart, to those she hurts. Constantly throwing out insults, and crude jokes. It gives her and her friends a laugh, so why should she care?

That rudeness is just a disguise however. She might enjoy the queen bee, spotlight..whatever you want to call it, but underneath that cold exterior, is someone whose been on her own, and just learned how to cope. Underneath all of that, she's a determined, strong, dedicated woman, whose always wanting to help out, of course she doesn't because of her "act" She's got to remain tough, harsh, and sometimes appear just plain dumb.

When she's around no one else, but her friends, she's kind, caring, and sometimes she even gives out jokes. Should someone catch her being helpful and point it out, she goes right back to being rude and cold.
"It's a cold world out there... better learn that not everyone is nice...I know I have"
History:

Amanda was born in a high class family, her mother was always busy with work while her father was always out of town. Her and her late brother grew up together, sharing secrets, candy, and even a friendship. She loved her brother more than anything on the planet. As their parents weren’t around much, Amanda and her brother raised each other. Always watching each others backs and making sure everything was taken care of. As soon as Amanda turned 14 years old, she discovered a power she didn't know she had. She could manipulate blood.

It had happened when she had cut herself with a knife, on accident, while trying to cut an apple for her and her brother to share. Instead of bleeding out, she had somehow made the bleeding stop. Excited, she ran and showed her brother, who didn't believe her. He told her to show him, so he could see it for himself. She nodded all excited, and eager to show him her special ability. He took the knife she had been using, and cut himself telling her to stop it. Panicked she tried urging the blood to stop, but it kept flowing and flowing.

The blood didn't listen to her, and in the end, she lost her brother. Her mother and father cried and wept, as Amanda spun a lie, her first ever lie, that she had walked into the kitchen and found her brother dead on the floor bleeding out. The death was ruled as a suicide. No one would have believed Amanda anyway. Keeping her Powers a secret, she carried the grief and the blame of her brothers death with her all her years.

Closing up, becoming the high class bitch she is today, she still carries that secret and that blame with her. Though she had practised her blood manipulating skills, and she has gotten much better with it.

"Stop, please," He looked up in shock to see her there. His eyes moved slowly down to the cut on his side, and horror filled him, along with an awful sense of panic. The blade clattered to the ground, and he felt his mind clear a little. He thought he'd been leaving it behind him... And in reality, he had just been making everything worse. His head sunk into his hands. "Oh my God, what have I done?" He whispered, nausea filling him at the thought of what he had just done.

He felt panic rising inside of him, and for once he didn't want to bury it. His mind thought fast. He could hold it in and risk another relapse at a later date... Or he could let it out... But in front of Ellowyn.

He decided too late- he was already in a panic, and it was just a little too late to try to hide it. He was gasping for air, and he could feel himself rocking back and forth. It felt scary, even for someone who was used to them. And he was pretty sure it looked scary to anyone who'd never had one. One hand maintained a little sense and pressed on the cut. It wasn't excessively deep or long, but it was bleeding, and that was one more undesirable thing.

He was glad to see that she was back to herself. He didn't stop eyeing the doctors cautiously, however. "Bad experience in hospitals?" One asked a little too brightly. He glared at her. "You could say that." Another, clearly much more important one bustled into the room, his stomach proceeding him in the door. Ollie raised an eyebrow. "Are you the head quack?" He asked dryly, resisting the temptation to slap one of the nurses as she fiddled with some of the needles in his arm. The doctor looked at Ollie.

"Nope, I'm the janitor. Don't tell anyone I'm here. They might confiscate my mop privileges." Ollie's eyebrow arched even further, and one side of his mouth curled into a smile. Good, sarcasm. "I can read your next question. We can release you once your paper work is through. We'd like to keep you, but we need to get your friends out of here, and to be honest, keeping someone as powerful as you here is risky." I really like this guy.

"You can get changed into your own clothes again. Your shirt and jeans were pretty badly bloodstained, so yeah, we burned them. Anything of use we left on the top of your bag. There's also some bandages and anti-septic and stuff there. Get your friends to change the bandaging tomorrow or if you think it needs to be changed. Keep it clean. Stay here until I say you can go.

That was the thing about the hospitals these days- they knew that if the "gifted" came in injured, it was best to let them off as soon as possible. For everyone's sake.

"Where're you going, batgirl?" She heard. She really didn't want to talk to Amanda right now. But she whirled around, anger filling her veins and causing the tips of her fingers to flicker into flame. "Anywhere. Anywhere away from him." She spat, filling her voice with enough venom to let Amanda know that she was furious at everyone right now. She pressed the burning flames into her skin, trying to smother them. She whirled around again and headed outside, staying out of the ambulance crew's way. As she stormed past an outdoor dustbin, she vented her anger by flicking her hands at it and setting a few items on the top alight.

Once she was out of sight, earshot and hopefully away from any oxygen lines, she let out a yell that was 50% misery and 50% anger. She was so angry at everyone right now...

But especially Corr. Had he just led her on the whole time? Pretended, just so he could toss her away like a broken doll? Just to see how she'd react?

The upset was gone, replaced with an anger that burned like the fire that flowed in her veins. She started pacing, desperately thinking. Then a plan hit her, one so good it made her lips curl up in a cunning smile.

She was going to get him back. She was going to make him jealous. But with who?

Alex wasn't her type. Besides, he was too tall for her and his tongue piercing wasn't exactly appealing to her. And there was no way in hell she was swapping sides. Nope. So, that left her with Quinn and Ollie. She had no desire to get the piercings pulled out of their holes. So, Quinn it was. A twinge of guilt was buried underneath the rest of her emotions.

Corr slid down the building only to end up sitting once more. The cigarette was in his mouth, barley hanging in there by his lips. He had seen the hurt in Hayley's eyes. That made him feel more of a monster than anything. Staring at his leather boots he sang to himself slightly.

"Then I lost it all
Dead and broken.
My back's against the wall.
Cut me open.
I'm just trying to breathe,
Just trying to figure it out
Because I built these walls to watch them crumbling down.
I said, "Then I lost it all."
And who can save me now?"

Leaning his head against the wall and closing his eyes he thought of why he was so afraid to kiss her. Opening his eyes and standing up, staring at the landscape he sighed. He needed to apologize to Hayley, he had no intentions of hurting her. Walking back in the hospital, he kept his eyes peeled for a familiar pink head of hers.

The cigarette still in his mouth, he smelled smoke. Turning in the direction he smelled it. His eyes landed on a dustbin that seemed to have been burning things. "Hayley." He murmured. Looking around he put the cigarette to the open flame, and then pulled away closing the lid so he could smother it.

Sittingin a nearby bench, he'd wait for the girls return once more. That was until he heard Amanda. "You're girlfriends pissed you know." She said as he sat down on the bench. He shrugged and looked up at her smoking his ciagarette. "Fuck off, it's your fault you manipulative bitch." Was his slight response. Amanda chuckled and continued making her way to the elevators. "You deserve it you cheating bastard. It's the reason Emily was going to kill you!" She shouted out as the doors closed in front of her face. Corr dropped his cigarette and ran just to catch closed doors.

"I'll kill you bitch! I will! Don't tempt me! You deserve it, don't you dare speak about Emily like that!" He kept hitting the elevator doors, until some doctors came and put him in cuffs.
Leading him to the lobby they sat him down and told him to "stay there and don't try any freaky shit."

Corr sulked, as he was seeing red. He was going to kill Amanda, one way or another he was going to kill her.

Amanda cackled at Hayley's anger. "Girl you got a long way to go to hate everyone." She'd try to follow the girl only to loose her once the girl went outside. Amanda smirked from the doorway, watching for Amanda's return. "Oh! Chocolate!" She'd remember. Hayley's misery seemed to have made her forget for a moment what she was doing. As she went to get on an elevator, she bumped into Corr.

Leaning against the wall, she cackled hearing his shouting. Seemed to make Amanda feel alive once more. As the elevator doors opened she searched for a doctor's office. Until a name caught her eyes.

Jennifer Thornhill
Amanda Thornhill
With a picture of Amanda's mom, and herself, she'd stop and read the print as tears fell down her face. Her heart seemed to break. Her mother had been murdered by one of these creatures. If only her mother could use Amanda's powers. Then again even that would've been a longshot. It's only by luck that Amanda had survived this far.

Wiping away her tears she walked into the office next to the notice, only to see more pictures of her and her mother and her dead brother. She realized whose office she was in. that's when she started searching for chocolate. Grinning she found her favorite chocolate in one of his bags. Before he could come back, she left the office, and went back on the elevator. "Hold it!" A man called out, and out of instinct, Amanda kept the doors open for the man. That's when she noticed who he was.

"Amanda?" He said with surprise. Amanda was stunned in front of her was her father. "I'm sorry... you must have me confused with someone else." She said with a fake bright smile. The doctor nodded and looked down. "Sorry, you just remind me so much of my daughter in those clothes..." She nodded and smiled. "I understand, I got them out of that box on the first floor." He seemed to nod, as tears fell down his face.

Amanda's heart broke and she was glad when the doors opened. Rushing out of there, she went back to Ollie's room holding the caramel filled chocolate out. Shouldn't taste like disinfectant... its my favourite type of chocolate. She wiped a few more tears off her face, "When can we leave this place?!" She asked silently, placing a hand on his forearm.

"Lobby is in once piece, though I think Corr pissed little Miss Firecrotch off." She chuckled and shook her head. "Sorry..." She whispered afterwords.

Listen guys, I'm lacking in motivation and ideas a bit, so I think I'm going to time-skip in this post. It was either that, or not post at all. Sorry for any inconvenience and the crappy posts.

Image

Night had fallen, and they'd found a decent place to sleep. Everyone had stopped worrying about trespassers on empty property ever since the attacks had started, so they were safe in the empty house they'd found. Well, as safe as they could be.

It didn't take Hayley too long to light a fire big enough for them to both see by and provide sufficient warmth. Ollie's side was starting to ache again, so he didn't waste any time. "Right, we need to work out some shifts for guards. I'm dividing it up into three lots of two hours- because we can't afford to stay much longer than six hours. I'll take last shift, because I need to take some painkillers and they usually knock me out cold for a few hours. Amanda, you're with me. Hayley and Quinn, I'm putting you two together. Take first shift. Ellowyn and Alex, you're together, second shift. Corr, you can take the same shift as me and Amanda."

He pulled out the little bottle of pills that the hospital had given him and swallowed two. He swung his feet up on one of the couches and watched the fire as he felt the pain starting to dull in his side.

Image

Alex nodded as he was given his shift. He didn't think he was going to sleep for another little while yet, but it was worth a try. He pulled a few pillows from the couches and lay them along the floor, most underneath his head. If someone did try and attack them, his loaded gun was by his hand and he could shoot a few of them in the brain before they knew what was happening.

He was trying to block out most of what had happened earlier, but at the same time, he knew that it was probably a bad idea. After all, burying it was what had caused such an explosion in the first place. But he couldn't face that right now. Just like he couldn't look Ellowyn in the eyes. And besides, chances were, they wouldn't live long enough for him to have another explosion.

Image

Hayley nodded as she was given first shift with Quinn. She was glad not to have been put with Corr. She didn't want to talk to him anyway, and she needed to piss him off more than anything. She made her way over to Quinn and sank down beside him. "Looks like we're buddies, then." Not that the buddy system had worked that well earlier, but she wasn't saying that then.

"How are you? You don't need any painkillers for your shoulder or anything, do you?" Her concern was genuine. It was one emotion she seldom had to fake. She cared for all of her friends, she really did. But just to make sure that Corr noticed, she put her hand on his arm. It was a gesture she sometimes used, but was one that would probably draw his attention.

She could still smell the cigarettes from his breath, and it was something she missed. But he didn't care, so neither should she.

Again, I apologise for the crappy posts- I just didn't want to keep you guys waiting.

Corr's eyes twitched at the idea of being put with Ollie and Amanda. "I'll kill that bitch if she speaks to me." He warned Ollie before getting up and lighting his cigarette in the fire. Taking a few hits, he sat back down away from the group. He felt a bit stronger away from the fire, but he kept his ears open in case anyone needed anything from him. Though he found some paint, and some old eye liner. Grinning wildly, he drew on his face, adding on to his earlier look, he made his make up more extreme, much more darker.

Throwing it to the side he fiddled with a bit of the darker mist he had accompany him. That was when he heard Hayley's voice. Turning around he watched how she enteracted with Quinn. Depending on Quinn's reaction would depend on how Corr reacted. Though it hurt to see Hayley act that way with someone who WASN'T him, but Quinn, his best friend?! He glared at the two. He balled his fists, letting his muscles tense up. What was his problem? Well besides the fact that Quinn knew how he felt about Hayley, almost everyone did.

Though he had to agree he was slightly worried about the guys shoulder, but he seemed fine earlier when Corr spoke to him.

Image

Amanda was sitting near Ollie listening to him discuss the shifts. " I'm fine with that." She said coolly. Removing her red leather jacket. Though hearing Corr's warning she chuckled softly. "Just how Emily was going to kill you right? Will you give me a chance to run as well?" She'd raise a brow as she asked Corr, picking on his past. The past that she had been around to witness. She grinned wildly as she saw Corr glare at her. As she relaxed once more, she sighed, thinking about her father. shaking her head she tried clearing her thoughts on it.

Looking up at Ollie, she rubbed his cheek ever so slightly before turning her attention back on the group. Her eyes then caught Hayley and Quinn, "Oh, poo, seems you moved on from your man in leather... good that means I can have him right? Always wanted to fuck a bad boy in leather." She cackled as she removed her boots letting her polished toes breathe. Standing up and stretching, she walked over to Corr and placed a hand on his shoulder, though he shrugged it off. "Come on, get laid, you'll feel a lot better." She murmured. She felt Corr's hand grab her wrist, and he looked up at her with his ice cold blue eyes. "Touch me again, and I'll be sure to make sure you freeze to death, somehow." Shoving her away from him Amanda almost lost her balance, though she shrugged. "Touchy." She murmured, as he flicked the cigarette at her. She dodged it and walked back to the end of the couch, near the fire.

Sitting back down, she pulled her legs up to her chest, and wrapped her arms around them, placing her chin on her knees. She sighed her eyes never leaving the fire. She figured she should do what Quinn and Alex were doing. Balling up her leather jacket, she closed her eyes, and tried going to sleep, though she wondered if it was of any use. Her mind kept racing back to the encounter with her father, the hope he had in her eyes. She knew she had to survive so she could come home and be with him again...

The warmth of the fire provided comfort of sorts to Quinn, who had begun to feel shivers from the chill of the night prior to its creation. Like several other members of the group, he had sat near it as soon as Hayley had made it, and only upon being told he had first watch, with Hayley as his fellow watchmen for the first few hours, did he move away from the flames, albeit rather reluctantly. "Sleep well," he says aloud, directed to anyone who might pick up on his soft voice and, at the same time, is about to go to sleep. Being a rather non confrontational person, Quinn is fine with anyone as far as pairing up for the watch goes. Well, Ellowyn or Amanda might set him a bit on edge, of course, but he otherwise has no real problems with any members of the group. This can likely be attributed to his unassuming behavior, if nothing else. Thus, he doesn't really mind much about who he is being paired with. Still, Hayley has always been rather nice, and so he gives her a small smile when she sits next to him for the first watch of the night. Her hair is as bright as the flame, he notices.

"Looks like it," he responds softly in the affirmative, resisting the urge to rub his palms up and down his arms for warmth. At this moment, the young man rather wishes that he had a jacket of some sort on hand. Alas, he hadn't really thought much about it at the time, and so goosebumps rise on his skin as an indicator of the chill. When she expresses her concern for him, Quinn tries to smile reassuringly, but it likely comes off as an anxious twist of the mouth more than anything.

"I'm fine, but thank you," he said, voice fading away once she touches his arm, an action which immediately draws his attention to the spot at which her hand touches his skin. He begins to feel nervous again, if only because she has never touched his arm before, and therefore the action is slightly confusing to him. Besides that, he can practically feel Corr glaring at his back, concerning him even further. "Erm. . .yeah," he says, eyes flickering towards her hand several times before he decides on a way to remove it without seeming rude, so that he doesn't cause any tensions between Corr and Hayley- the last thing he wants.

So, the young man rubs at his arm, looking awkward as ever, in such a way that would make it only natural for Hayley to release him.

Image

I'm sure he doesn't like that, Ellowyn muses when Ollie tells she and Alex that they will be on second watch together. After all, he hasn't been able to look her in the eye since a few hours ago, when she had caught him hurting himself in one of the hospital cubicles. Of course, unsure how to really deal with the situation, she likely had only made it worse- not that she really feels like thinking about that, In all of the confusion, she never did have her own injuries looked at, and so they continue to be haphazardly bandaged with old cloth, tied around the shirt that Amanda had brought her earlier- a shirt which had been immediately soiled by the nastiness that was her wound. She had covered it with the sweater that Amanda had also delivered onto her, successfully ensuring that no one noticed it.

At the moment, she is making an attempt at sleeping, using her arm as a supplement to the bag she is currently using as a pillow. A few moments of this system is enough for her to shift, because she doesn't want her arm falling asleep- that would just be inconvenient, especially when she has the next watch. Still, she is reluctant, to some extent, to sleep at all, reasoning that it might be easier to stay awake until her watch, and then sleep for the two rotations following it. But weariness from the day's excitement has some effect on her, and so she continues to lie down, the light of the fire against her closed eyelids making it all the more difficult to actually fall asleep, unfortunately for her. Perhaps sleeping on the floor wasn't helping, but she doesn't really feel like sleeping on the couch- at least partially because it runs the risk of becoming too comfortable. So on the floor she remains, failing all attempts to sleep.
