Setting
Nicolette teasingly sneered at Charlotte. "Very funny." She'd noticed Tyler run out the door but didn't bother to follow him. The girl started walking up to her room looking over her shoulder to see if Charlotte was following. "Mike better hope he got our sheets this time." Nicolette smirked until she reached their dorm room. Grabbing her phone, Nicolette placed it onto it's charger. She fell onto her bed with a sigh. "I hate walking around. It requires exercise and that's tiring." Nicolette laughed and looked up to the ceiling. Obviously she hadn't really cared about the walking because of her athletic history. Nicolette sat up and looked to Charlotte. "So since I'm new here what else do you do here that doesn't require messing with people?"
"I'll be right back. I'm going to get something from my room." Megan says and walks out of the room, the door closed behind her. She walks into her room, grabbing her phone and her purse. While walking, Megan hears Tyler's howl and sighs slightly before walkiing back into the room.
"Ready." Megan says and smiles, wanting to scare them right away.
While Nicolette charged her phone, Charlotte took a seat on her bed. She was sitting Indian style like usual and looking at the other female. "Like I said, I spent most of my time in my room. I went to the kitchen to eat, the living room or stayed in my room to read, or I meditated." She paused and looked at Nicolette. "That's pretty much it. Sometimes I went to the pool, but that was at night. I went there to meditate or practice my powers."
Charlotte stood up and went to the window. She moved the curtains to the sides and looked out. The sun looked as if it were to start setting in an hour or two, and after today, Charlotte decided she'd need to sneak out again for another night of peace. Smiling to herself, she moved the curtains back and went to her bed again.
With a confused look on her face, Nicolette spoke to Charlotte. "What are you all smiley for?" Nicolette giggled to herself while waiting for Charlotte's answer. While waiting Nicolette thought about what Charlotte said about there being a pool. The girl had always been a fan of swimming although every time her full body hit the water, she got a tail. Although she wasn't an actually a "mermaid," Nicolette was still part of the mermaid family, that being said she still grew a tail every time her legs hit water.
Charlotte looked at Nicolette with a blank expression. "Smiling? You must have been mistaken." Her statement came off harsher than she had intended. Instead of sitting down, she remained standing. "Do you wanna hit the pool, Miss Mermaid? It must be difficult not to be able to be your actual self all the time, at least, that's what I think." Charlotte started walking towards the door and stopped in the doorway. "You coming, or what?" She had no intentions of swimming herself, but to sit and relax. Swimming was an activity she enjoyed doing alone, early in the morning so no one could see or bother her.
A small laugh exited from Nicolette at the nickname "Miss Mermaid." "Sure why not?" Nicolette didn't bother bringing her bathing suit. Right when she hit the water she'd just grow a tail! Letting Charlotte lead the way, Nicolette descended down to the pool. When they arrived sure enough, there was Tyler sitting there with his feet in the pool. Nicolette didn't waste time before she jumped in the pool. Almost a second, not even, after she hit the water, a long shiny, blue, and sparkly tail wrapped around her legs. Wow! I guess Charlotte was right, it is nice to see my actual self sometimes. Nicolette thought in her mind.
Charlotte led Nicolette to the pool, and when they arrived Nicolette didn't even blink before she jumped in. Whereas Charlotte on the other hand, stayed about half a mile away from the pool. There was an ample field of grass beyond the pool that was still considered property of the mansion, and surrounded the pool on all sides for the most part.
She extended her hand and created a black circle under her. Charlotte rose about 4 or 5 feet on the circle, and then she sat down Indian style. Meditating with others around, especially those she just met, would end badly. With that Charlotte just remained still on the circle. After a few moments, she on rode the black matter over towards the two. The female remained a yard or two away, to prevent getting wet.
Nicolette watched Charlotte walk about a yard away from the pool and sit down. Then the girl glanced over to see Tyler swimming towards her. She laughed and went back down under water swimming away from him. Nicolette could clearly see swimming was not Tyler's best subject while she could practically live under water! Looking down at her tail, Nicolette smiled. Seeing her tail again sort of made her happy even if it did remind her of past events with her mom and brother. Swimming back up to surface Nicolette smirked. "Awe, puppy dog can't swim?!" She said to Tyler laughing.
Before Tyler got close enough to touch Nicolette, she went underwater again and quickly swam to other side of the pool. "Oh and FYI, I don't torment people for fun, it's a hobby." Nicolette smirked and flapped her tail in the water creating a small wave. "And how come no one every taught you? I mean, it's kind of necessary for people to know how to swim." The girl said in a teasing tone. She didn't really think people actually needed to know how to swim, just in her past everyone she met were just phenomenal swimmers.
Nicolette quickly moved away. "Now you see, Mermaid, is a very stereo-typical name. I'm part of the mermaid family though." She said while laughing. It was true though. Sirens, weren't actually "mermaids." They were more like hunters although Nicolette hated becoming all scientific with things like that. It just became too tiring.
Nicolette once again swam away but at least this time she didn't swim to the whole other side of the pool. "Oh I'm just kidding." The girl smirked and turned over to where Charlotte was meditating. She giggled. Nicolette didn't understand why Charlotte didn't want to swim. Although she could understand that maybe she just wanted time to relax. After all she did stay here a lot longer then Nicolette had.
Charlotte remained still and silent on the mass. She hadn't been meditating, but simply watching. Meditating would be for later tonight. While the two were in the pool, she had been examining each and watching closely. After a while, she closed her eyes but spoke up. "Will you two just make out already? It's bound to happen sooner or later, but try to keep the slobbering noises down." Charlotte spoke calmly, and her face remained neutral.
"Will you two just make out already? It's bound to happen sooner or later, but try to keep the slobbering noises down." Nicolette looked at Charlotte confused. "Whoa. We just kinda met." She said with a blank expression. Yeah, maybe she was attracted to Tyler somewhat, but doing that seemed a little extreme since they had just met that day.
Nicolette pulled herself up onto the edge of the pool. Carrying her weight plus the tail's weight was extremely hard, since the tail weighed more than her original body wait.
Charlotte opened her eyes quick enough to see their reactions, and she had to force herself not to smirk, smile, or laugh. Nicolette was clearly right; they had just met today, but so what? Tyler's body language was practically screaming he wanted Nicolette, and Charlotte knew it. Yes, maybe Charlotte shouldn't have said it so soon, but who cares? It was out there in the universe now and she couldn't take it back, and she wouldn't even if she could. The teen couldn't care less what they thought of her after that. After all, she was used to annoying or getting under people's skin.
She first replied to Nicolette, "I'm aware," then to Tyler. With Tyler though, she simply nodded her head at him. The last thing she needed was him attacking her or something, which she doubt would happen but who knows? Charlotte barely knew the people here, even the ones she had been around for so long.
Nicolette raised an eyebrow as Tyler practically growled at them, then left. She knew she could get him back in a matter of seconds but why should she? She had no reason. Nicolette didn't actually care about what Charlotte had said. The girl just simply slid the rest of her tail out of the pool water and waited for it to dry. It didn't take long for her tail to dry and her legs to be revealed once again. Nicolette regained her balance after stumbling a little while trying to get up. This happened almost every time her tail went away. Her body was so used to not having to use her legs for a period of time she always had to get her body back into realizing she used both. Her legs and tail.
Walking towards Charlotte, Nicolette began to speak. "You can laugh now you know. I tried hard not to either." Nicolette grinned.]
Charlotte watched Nicolette make her way out of the pool. Her tail soon disappeared and she began speaking. "You can laugh now you know. I tried hard not to either." She shook her head at Nicolette, grinning. "I know." Charlotte stood up, still on the black circle she had created. She rode over to Nicolette and closed the gap between them almost fully. It then occurred to Charlotte what today was and she lowered onto the ground. "I'd love to stay and chat, but I just remembered I have to go somewhere." Charlotte took a few steps back so Nicolette wouldn't get sucked into the ground like Charlotte would soon be. With that, the black matter beneath her feet broke off into tentacle-like arms and wrapped around the teen. She was soon engulfed in the arms and was being dragged into the ground. Charlotte remained motionless as all of this happened, but spoke a few words to Nicolette. "See ya." Her words disappeared into the ground, just like her body.
She sighs quietly, soon looking around for any passing students, seeing none, she looks back to Tyler. "What happened? I'll kill em." She says, not really eaning it. Well maybe a little, she will do anything to help someone of her kind.
