Physical Description
Memphis stands at about 5' 9" and bares fire-y shaded short hair and gentle amber coloured eyes. He has a lean figure, notably well kept and looked after as represented through his athletic build - at times considered unmovable should you try to mess with him. He prides himself in his physicality and appearance, though not to a point that he is considered vain - the demon just takes an interest in his image. Typically he can be seen slouched against something, a cigarette hanging over the side of his lip. Memphis is also considered fashionable and tends to dress to suit his particular style, most recognisably a t-shirt, jeans and a black coat.

"As long as I am looking decent that is all I care for."

Abilties | Powers
Eruption | Memphis’s entire body is made up of fire and is contained within his ‘human form’. But should he desire to he is able to leak flames from his body and use it offensively, although much of Memphis’s attacks lack a considerable amount of care and precision. Especially this one as it may suggest. This is his most explosive attack known. Sourced from his body he is able to manipulate his fire through his mind and perform large scaled fire-ranged attacks without even lifting a finger. This also works as a form of defense, though its primary purpose is destruction and elimination. Like a volcano erupting it literally burns and consumes everything within its reach.

"Simply, when the eyes turn red it means your gonna be dead, heh."
Advanced Strength | Memphis harbors strength that frightfully surpasses many demons known. For sure he may appear strong from day-to-day but in all truth his strength is limited within his human form. There is actually another level to his physicality, an additional source of power that the demon keeps hidden away until an occasion when he needs it. This strength is his ‘true strength’. Very little would get in his way when accessing this, the demon is scarily intimidating.
"Yeah - I'd love to see you get in my way and stop me. Go ahead."
Heat-Wave | Memphis is able to generate enough heat within his body that he can then in turn project it outwards and melt his surrounding area and everything in it – or alternatively he can melt objects by touching them. Likewise, this also raises room temperatures and causes uncomfortable amounts of heat to weave in and out of the air surrounding him. People may faint or pass out in his presence, or worse. If the heat proves hot enough a fire may form though this is not a common occurrence.
"You know what they say, if you can't stand the heat..."

History
Memphis’s existence begins in a different universe entirely, though he does not know the exact name of this place that he called home, he does however remember its warmth very well. But the demon was brought into this world by a powerful mage who summoned him by accident and from that moment on claimed ownership of the fire demon – it is also how he came to be known as Memphis. His name, his identity. Though much younger then the demon was still the same as he is now.

Though not one to call himself a bad demon, he wasn’t overly good either. Memphis generally viewed himself as a demon who did what made sense and also done whatever the mage asked of him. Why? He doesn’t really know – it just made sense he guessed. And considering he was in a world that made little sense to him the demon felt obligated to keep himself in good favour with the mage, which he did. In turn the wise mage in a way raised the demon and shaped him into the figure we see today. Powerful, intimidating. A demon not to be reckoned with. He was also educated and to a degree tamed by the elderly mage.

The pair lived together peacefully, surprisingly. Memphis adopted the mage as his master, someone who he obeyed and assisted, aided, and ensured everything he wished came true. But their lives were disrupted when his master was offered a position at an academy for young demons and mages, and given the mages old age it was unlikely he could accept anyway, as he wasn't as young as he use to be and likewise wasn't in a state to take on the challenge. Instead the mage decided to send his demon in his place and take the position as Headmaster – a sudden decision that the demon was naturally uneasy about but since the mage asked, he accepted.

Memphis was given freedom to move to the academy and take up the role, as his mage felt this was best though would still keep in contact with the demon, and vise vera. His mage deep down knew that his demon could make a difference – and no whiny students would get away without feeling his wrath neither. So, that is where we find Memphis now, beginning his new life as a Headmaster and seeing what awaits him. He is still adapting to this new way of life.

"I have been given free will to do as I see fit - be warned."

Other
~ Smoking ~
Memphis’s entire body is made up of fire – but due to being in the human world he is ‘disguised’ as a human and thus has a human form that it is contained within. But at times he can feel a little too ‘stuffy’ and needs to smoke to exhale excess ‘fire’ from his body, or rather smoke. This is why he smokes a lot! Like seriously a lot.

"Yeah, whatever. Does it bother you? Do I care? - No."

So begins...

Her gaze turns, face twisted into an expression of near-disgust as the mage wraps an arm around her. Looking rather annoyed now she reaches back to peel the boy's arm from around her, irritation clear in her voice and her face. "I dunno, I think Ruzik's got a worse bite than me, you should know about that first hand." A small smirk forms on her lips as she shakes her head and rises up to her feet and gives the boy a dismissive wave, "Yeah yeah. Have fun with the creepy mage man, try not to screw this ritual thing up when it comes time to act." She quickly buries her hands into coat pockets and watches as Laurence leaves and gives a small shake of her head, her gaze turning back to the horned demon nearby.

Having little else to do she strode over next to the girl, plopping down roughly into the desk adjacent to her. She turned to face the demon and crossed a leg over her knee, orange eyes taking a moment to scan her over curiously, now able to take a closer look. Leaning back slightly she speaks, "So, what do you think of this whole... 'mission'?" She probes with a question, hoping to ease her boredom by breaking the ice and conversion with this woman. "Can call me Venom by the way." A small smirk makes its way across her lips as she continues, "And if you don't mind me saying... Your eyes are stunning." Her tone was flirtatious but also sincere, the woman's emerald orbs had captivated her. Pale skin and black hair studded by two brilliant emeralds, it invoked a desire within her to paint with such a haunting but beautiful palette.

Memphis had crossed his arms and leaned against the wall next to the doorway. His expression was un-amused as his gaze fell onto a familiar young demon that walked nearer him at that point. Pushing himself off the wall the he stood and placed his hands to his hips.

"I’m not impressed," He said once Etelka was close enough to hear. The girl had opted to sit and not go against her teammates for the challenge, which was something he had expected despite hoping for a chance to the girls ways. "Would it honestly kill you to try and make an effort? Cooking and cleaning are all fine and well, but that is not why you are here. Your job is to follow what I say as I am your supervising teacher." The man gave the younger demon a questioning stare, clearly he was unimpressed by her lack of effort.

"Tell me Etelka, is there anything that you would fight for? Clearly not yourself, but what if young Laurence was in danger? A demon that cannot protect is of no use to any mage, even more so if they care not for themselves." The demon knew what he was talking about, being a demon who served under a mage himself Memphis was perhaps in a way similar to the girl, however clearly their views differed quite a bit. "You do realize that this was the easier task? I didn’t put you on the mission as I am perfectly aware that you are not a fight, however, surely merely pushing someone over was not that hard to do?"

With a sigh he reached behind him and dug out a packet of cigarettes, popping one out before setting it to the side of his mouth. Straightening himself a little he looked to the girl, giving a shrug. "Besides, I’m not here to make your life easier, only better. So how about we start afresh, on a new footing. If you try a little harder then I won't feel the need to be hard on you, eh?"

Memphis spoke to her as she made her way into the doorway and out of the terrible light. Etelka never expected him to be impressed, she wasn’t trying to impress him, and her job was not to follow this demons orders. She served only one mage and only went along with these antics because she assumed Lord Snow would want her to behave. Yes there was something she would fight for, her life and the masters life, and yes this demon was correct she couldn’t protect them because she was weak. Why did he feel the need to cement this fact that was painfully obvious, she was weak, useless, unable to fight, her use was to relieve stress in place of that.

This stupid ‘headmaster’ then said pushing someone over was not hard, easy for him to say. He was on comparable strength to the demon she looked up to Mikhail, she was small and frail. He threw her into a fight against people of speed her eyes could barely register, who had hand to hand combat training, who could break her arm no matter how much she struggled. Why flail around like a useless fish, not participating was far easier and more sensible. Then he said he wanted to make her life better, start on a new foot, wants her to try harder, oh shut up!

Her face had betrayed her usual stoicism as Etelka became fed up with his lecture, she was not happy with him. “You want to start on a new foot? Well how about actually teaching me how to fight instead of just telling me to do it. Are all the ‘teachers’ at this place daft, I am worthless, trash, weak, pathetic, phrase it however you want. I was not raised to fight and have never even seen one until yesterday; I was to stay in my place until I was wanted. You don’t need to tell me a demon that cannot protect is fucking wo-“ She stopped her own angry rant and her face suddenly flushed with fear, she had cursed at a superior.

Etelka’s whole body began to quiver as the larger demon gazed down at her, slowly backing away and holding up her arms between them. ”I-I-I’m sorry sir, I’ll try harder, I’ll attack anyone you w-want me to. I’m v-very sorry,” tears had begun to well up in her eyes. She didn’t want to be hit, or bound, or anything else. Why did she have to get angry, had those years without a master really made her that selfish and irritable? Etelka was far too scared to run at this point, she stood no chance at getting away from him anyway. Why did he have to remind her so much of Mikhail?! The moment Memphis moved she flinched but made no further effort to resist.

Liliane and Bugby started to head back but Lili was then distracted by the conversation between Etelka and Memphis. She did catch on to the topic until the demon girl's voice raised. She quickly stopped and her attitude did a complete one-eighty. Memphis took a step forward and Liliane was instantly in front of Etelka. Her legs moved well before her mind processed what to do. To Liliane the demon girl was no different than the children she protected from tyrants on her missions before. She wasn't afraid of a single person at the academy. She only came here to learn a technique to grant access to the many powers she'd stolen. If she got kicked out then she'd merely search somewhere else. It would also give her an excuse to finish off Ruzik since she wouldn't be bound by the school rules anymore. The situation Liliane created for herself was win-lose.

"Excuse me for my interfering but I can see tensions are rising too high at the moment. Now would not be the best time to discuss the results of her loss since I'm sure she's familiar with why because the exercise just ended." It was obviously Etelka was suffering from some type of traumatic stress. Though whether it was caused by Memphis or a previous event Lili was not sure of. Sarah ran up to the group to break them up.

"I'm sorry, sir." She apologized to the headmaster. "Now is not the time or place to be quarreling with the students. We can handle this in an organized manner after class. For now we should go to the class room since everyone's exercises are done. Then we can talk about what each student did and how they performed. That might be a better time to discuss how they can better themselves. Maybe even help them ourselves. It's our duty after all. What do you say?" Sarah didn't want Liliane getting in any more trouble than she already was. It's why she felt inclined to step in.

Memphis had all but took a mere single step towards the girl and before he knew it Liliane was stood before him, protecting the demon-girl from what he could gather by her position. Then, the other demon-teacher approached to ‘break them-up’ from what he deduced by her sudden intrusion. The whole situation bothered him immensely and he did not appreciate it in the slightest, especially as he was only trying to talk to the girl. What did they view him as? Some monster?

"Silence!" He said to both the students and teacher, giving them all an equally displeasured glare. He could see that Etelka was fearful by that point, as to why was beyond him however it seemed to spark the interests of the other two as how now found himself surrounded with them. "Unless you are my master then you do not have the right to tell me when and where I shall conduct myself, as I will do as I see fit when, where and however I please. Understand, Miss Rayne? That is what I say." Memphis looked to the woman and spoke quite patronizingly to her, though it wasn’t surprising for Memphis to view others as below him, after all he was a superior demon in his own opinion and right and would not be slow in demonstrating it if he had to.

"Anyway, we were not quarreling. I was talking with my student calmly and she overreacted, the cause for her outburst is beyond me." As he explained briefly what happened the demon gave Etelka a quick glance, clearly not amused by her reaction though he would say no more of it. What was done was done. That was the end of it. What was more important was ensuring he too did not kick off, as Memphis would have said a lot worse, perhaps even done a lot worse without the need for words. "Furthermore, I do not take to this intrusion kindly. What I do with my students is of no concern to others, especially when they should be more worried about their own. And, should any student dare to stand against me then they will be further punished as consequence, do you understand Liliane? Etelka?"

They probably didn’t care going by looks. It was bothersome to have others take his ruling so lightly, or maybe the Headmaster just hadn’t expected to be placed with students as strong willed as some of them were. "To put it simply - I’ll kick your ass if any of you try another stunt like this, and if you’ve got a problem with how I do things then take it up with one of the mages as I don’t have time for your whining.” With that said the Headmaster turned round, appearing even more displeasured by the trio as he took a step through the door. However, stopping himself he set a hand to the doorframe and turned to look at them again, briefly.

"Oh, I would suggest taking her somewhere and calming her down, students have free time so you are free to do as you see fit, though just do not disturb me as I will be having a meeting with Mr. Kurayami. And Etelka, should you ever feel the need to come and apologize to me for your outburst then I will teach you to fight in return. If you want to improve yourself then I will help you, if you wish it."

The Headmaster left the three females and entered the classroom fully before addressing the students who still remained in the room. "Listen up, you all know what is expect of you for this mission. For the time being perhaps it would be wise to get to know your fellow teammates for this exercise, otherwise I will be meeting with Mr. Kurayami in the meantime. We’ll be in our office if you require us."

The Headmaster took his leave promptly and left the classroom, despite trying to keep his voice relatively calm the man could not quite entirely shift his displeasure from his expression due his prior talk outside. Whether the students had overhead it he didn't know, or care. Regardless he made his way to his office and entered, sitting himself at his desk as he waited the arrival of Midora once he was done with Laurence. Though as the demon sat at his desk he placed his hands to it's surface, forming a small flame in the middle of where his hands clasped together. He missed his flame. Before he moved to the academy Memphis could use his fire whenever he wished, mostly. His master was flexible on the odd occasion however he wasn’t allowed to use it carelessly now, but he’d have his little moments.

Etelka did not like being protected, it bothered her immensely, despite hating it she only deserved to be left to her fate. The words of the people interfering did not comfort her even slightly; it actually made her more scared. Memphis was far stronger than Ms. Rayne or Lilliane, even if their own pride clouded that from their minds. Given that that mage however was a prime student it was unlikely she would be severely punished, and that frustration would be taken out on Etelka. When the headmaster shouted to be silent she flinched once more.

He went on explaining the situation as he understood it to the two intruders, shooting glares all around as he did so. When he spoke her name Etelka bowed deeply and spoke meekly, “Y-yes sir, sorry sir.” He then threatened to kick their ass, which is what the servant was afraid of already so it barely helped her fear to have him say it himself. A bit more lecturing later he dismissed himself into the classroom and then to off to elsewhere. Etelka had no interest in being calmed down by the mage or demon teacher, she simply wanted to be left alone.

Facing the ground and speaking softly, “Leave me alone, I’m not worth your intrusions and I don’t want them.” The demon made her way down the halls toward her room; she had no interest in being seen like this. Her practiced stoicism was becoming extremely difficult to keep up, everything in this academy brought up memories and destroyed her trained visage. Appearing weak in this place was not what Etelka wanted but she couldn’t keep it up, she was weak and pathetic, scared of everything around her.

Closing the dorm door behind her and taking no interest in turning on the light she threw herself onto her bed. Taking a moment to wipe her face with her sleeves then just lying there and listening to her own breathing. She had no plans to go to the headmaster and apologize to him, trying to teach her to fight would be a gigantic waste of every ones time. Etelka wasn’t anything worth living, just a pathetic splotch on this world that shouldn’t have been born, meant to amount to nothing. She thought about ending her own life, and had done so in the past, but she was too much of a coward to do it. Just a useless coward, any mage would be right in killing this piece of trash, the Lord was probably already unhappy he was assigned such a useless thing.

She rolled over on the bed and buried her face in the pillow; she would only hold the master back. Etelka clenched her good hand so tight her fingernails cut into her own flesh; she hated herself more than anyone. She had had a meagre lunch and dinner yesterday, and had yet to eat today, so hunger was definitely an issue. However the servant had no wish to confront anyone, instead remaining in the dark room, brooding in her own disgust for herself. She was only ever dear to one person, and that was the late Ervin, his dear servant.

Laurence Snow

(A collab between me and Kapento)

Midora nodded to Memphis as the red-head Demon said a few other words to the students before headed out of the classroom. He can still felt his presence outside though. Maybe he wanted to watch how the students interact with each other? Midora thought then shrugged as he looked on at the students one more time. Although he has stated that this task wouldn't be much of a trouble for them since the monsters are not going to be too much of a difficult task, but problems can still occur if they take things too lightly and Midora has to ensured their safety during the mission as the top priority.

Moments later, Laurence stepped up and stood in front of him, "Mr. Kurayami? I’m ready for our meeting, it was now that you wanted to see me right? I'm ready whenever you are." Before saying anything, Midora continued to give Laurence another analyzing glance. The boy really is innocent and from the looks of it, it seemed he hasn't got much chance to encounter with real combats before, judging from the innocent and naive look in his eyes. He began to question whether if giving him this duty is a good idea or not. But Midora knows that he has to do what he has to, if he wants Laurence to have a chance to held his head high. Even if it means he's going to drag the boy into the darkness, though just temporarily.

"Very well." Midora said calmly, "Let's go to somewhere more private." He moved closer to Laurence as they both vanished into his dark vortex and teleported into Midora's private chamber which was designed in a rather ancient style. It was lighted by torches that were hung on the walls and bookcases around the room with a desk. The chamber looks just like any normal study but the only difference is the stone bed in the middle of the room surrounded with a magic circle.

Midora walked towards a bookcase nearby and pulled out a book with large covers that looks like a grimoire. He turned the book to a certain page then suddenly turned his back to face Laurence, who was seemingly still confused. "Say, Laurence." He spoke up to gain the boy's attention, "Do you have any experience with fighting or duels before?"

Laurence had followed Midora through the vortex as it had appeared, the teacher leading him to some form of study. The place didn’t seem that unusual although it did unnerve the boy slightly, not that he voiced his small anxiety to the man. As Midora walked over to one of the bookcases Laurence wandered a little and gazed over the room quietly.

Once his name was spoken the boy spun round to face the other mage. Thinking over his question for a few moments the boy said nothing at first, before eventually replying with, “No, not really Mr. Kurayami,” With a shake of his head the boy gave a faint sigh. “I’ve been in one… maybe two duels I guess, but they didn't end well and since then my parents never allowed me to fight. My powers were more unstable then than they are now, so my parents have been more lenient since sending me to this academy. They’re fine with it so long as I’m supervised and stuff.”

Laurence didn’t want the man to doubt his capabilities. After all, he may not have had the experience but that wouldn’t stop the boy from performing his job on the mission. He’d be determined to succeed no matter what. “I’m ready for whatever you’re going to do to me, I can take it.” He assured the teacher and took a deep breath before closing his eyes. “So go on… do what you’re going to do.”

After a few minutes the boy paused, reopening his eyes to look at Midora with a confused stare. “Hey, what are you going to do to me exactly? I don’t understand why I can’t just close the window as I am. I’m still a dark and white mage, so what are you going to do Mr. Kurayami?”

Midora humbly closed the book and put it on the desk nearby. He's always like that, keeping his calm and cool posture before doing anything major. He looked on to Laurence, who was pretty confused right now with his usual blank and expressionless look as he slowly approached the boy, step by step. Seeing the boy really did remind Midora of the person that he once was. Innocent and without a care. It amazed him by just thinking of how far he has fallen. "I figure that you could find out soon. And you're more willing than I thought. But no matter, it'd just make things a bit easier to accept."

Right when Midora finished his sentence, he has approached the boy. Their bodies were just inches away from each other. Then, Midora grabbed Laurence's left shoulder and pushed him against the wall. When the hybrid Mage's back hit the wall, Midora slammed his left arm on it, just besides Laurence's head. "Did you know that every Dark Mages have a dark side of their hearts? It is their true personality. Some of them reveal this side to the other, whereas some conceal it by putting up a perfect mask." Midora said with a monotonous, yet dark tone while caressing the boy's cheek with his other hand, "Can you feel it, Laurence? You were always so carefree and innocent. You willing to make friends and try to get along with the others. You are naive, yet you show unbreakable determination. You keep trying and trying even if the others think that you're weak, that you are not capable of doing anything. That's the mask the Light in you has put up to cover the alluring Dark inside you. Everyone choose to follow the Light's guidance, but what they can't deny is that the Dark also tempted, luring them to embrace it."

Midora trailed his finger on Laurence's cheek before it reached his chin. He then gently raised Laurence's face as their eyes met. The Dark Mage stared into those blue orbs with his black eyes, as if he was trying to twist into the deepest of the boy's soul. "I've been keeping my eyes on you ever since this morning, but I didn't know whether if you realize or not. You remind me of my past. Remind me of the person whom I used to be before this life cruelly rejected me. Which is why I wanted you to keep on living like that. However, it is your naivety that is holding you back and you'll fail sooner or later if you keep enduring, keep assuring that there's nothing wrong with people treating you as they wanted like that. Which is why..." Midora closed his eyes for a moment, when he reopened it, they've turned crimson red, "...I will make the Darkness of your soul to surface."

Midora rested his chin on Laurence's right shoulder, he then whispered into the boy's ear, "Don't worry. It's not going to hurt..." Right after that, a dark circle appeared underneath their feet as black aura sprung out from it, surrounded the two of them. Midora forced Laurence continued to look into his red eyes and then began to chant, "Yami no namae de, watashitachiha, kyoukai ga yaburete mimashou..." As he chanted, a pair of black wings appear on his back, "...naraku no soko kara josho, shinakereba naranai kono wakai, tsukaite ga kurai no ko ni, naru koto ga ari!" When Midora finished the chant, the black aura merged into Laurence as the boy's eyes are also slowly turning from blue shade to red, like him. That is when Midora pulled the boy into his arms as the dark wings embrace them both.

When Midora is done with his job, he ceases the spell and stepped back. He looked at the boy in front right him. The innocent look in his eyes are gone. The Light has been hindered. Midora then wrapped his arms and began to explain, "Inside your body existed conflicting elements so it is not safe for you when you're performing the 'Window Covering' because you can't control your power properly yet. Which is why to prevent should any problems happen when you're sealing the Window, I've sunk the Light element inside you and made the Dark surface. Or, to put it in a different way, you're now officially a full-fledged Dark Mage." He paused a bit before continue, "And don't worry, this is only temporary for this mission. By the next morning, you'll return to normal."

With that said, Midora walked up to Laurence again and touched the boy's forehead with his index finger. It shines as Midora transferred the incantation of the spell and how to perform it to his brain, helping him to memorize it. After Midora has finished, he asked, "So? How do you feel?"

Laurence was a little edgy when the man approach him and stood so close, pushing the boy against the wall and touching the young mage’s face. The boy just took and took, figuring Midora knew what he was doing. Laurence listened carefully as the teacher spoke to him, listening to his words and unable to deny the claims he spoke. It was true that the boy always wanted to make friends and endure whatever they did to him, their judgments of him didn’t bother the mage and quite frankly, perhaps, he was just a little bit naive.

As soon as Midora’s eyes turned red the boy tried to step back, though due to being up against a wall he couldn’t go anywhere. As he stood the boy silently watched as a dark circle emerged and black aura formed from it, startling the youth a little but he resisted the urge to act-out. Whilst the chant was put into motion Laurence kept his stare focused on Midora, seeing the black wings take shape behind the man and before he knew it they merged into his being. Although causing no pain to feel, it was still quite weird as something was clearly different with Laurence, and the boy knew it.

Looking up to the man as he spoke, Laurence’s eyes widened in surprise when the realization that his ‘light’ part of him was gone, or rather sunk. He could feel it. In all honesty he wasn’t thrilled about it, he never asked to be full-fledged dark mage, but knowing that at least it was only temporary and by next morning he would be normal once more was a little relieving. However, when caught unaware, Laurence stood still as the man touched his forehead. A soft glow radiated upon contact and following it Laurence felt the spell enter his mind, the one which he would need in order to perform to close the window.

“How do you think I feel,” He replied in a rather toneless voice, before pushing the man’s hand away and taking a step to the side and away from the wall. “Cold… and very empty, as if there is a part of me missing I guess would be a fitting way to put it.” Truly, despite knowing his light element was still within him only somewhere deep down, it was almost as if it weren’t there at all. “I have been so use to having my conflicting elements, it is very unnatural to be as I am now. I feel very different, at least partly. I can sense more darkness around me...”

Giving a quick glance about the room the boy later gave a sigh, turning back to the man. “Are we almost done here? I would like to return to the classroom as soon as possible… as this room is too dark for me, I feel suffocated. I need to be somewhere nicer, somewhere that has more light to it. Anyway, I believe I know the spell and how to perform it, though should I find myself unsure of anything I will find you before the mission starts and seek your advice, alright?”

Midora watched on as the usual soft boy reacted over his question. He wouldn't say that he'd like to do this, but he has to. Although for just temporary. After all, Midora sees Laurence as a true reflection of what he once was in the past, and the very proof of how someone who's still value the true meaning of life fallen into the deepest of abyss without a way to break out. Sometimes, he did wonder if this is the fate that has been given to each one of his kin since they were born. They may found themselves living happily in the light of day, only to receive absolute damnation later in their lives.

"You'll get used to it soon. That was just a taste of how cruel can this life be to each one of us. You're still young and you deserve to live innocently, but sometimes, you can't deny that one day this life will throw stones at you." Midora calmly said, "Betrayal, murdering, isolation, abandoned, even having to kill the person you love the most are what some of the seniors like us have to went through. Which is why we took sanctuary in the dark, conceal our thoughts and minds from the world."

Laurence glanced around the room a bit before stated that he wanted to go out. Midora nodded to the boy then telekinetically took the book on the table earlier. "Here." He gave it to Laurence, "I think your parents did teach you a couple of simple dark spells before and some basic controls of Dark Matter. But even that so, you still need to learn a couple of offensive spells by yourself. For now, you can rest and wait until I call for you or you can go and practice some spells from this book. But you don't need to put too much strain on yourself. And try not to care about what the other said or feel negative unless you want to go berserk. Should you need to ask anything else, look for me. I'll be in my office." Though Midora doubts that the boy would lose his sanity that easy. He narrowed his gaze in an intimidated way. "Another small piece of advice: don't hold back, don't show any mercy, don't show any sympathy with your opponents. Bring forward the wrath of the Dark. Each one of them who has underestimated you, Etelka, Dúyè, or even the Headmaster himself, show them that you're more than that."

Then Midora teleported them back to the classroom's door. He turned to Laurence one last time, "Stay vigilant and fight well. I'll see you later." Midora gave him a pat on his back before turning his back, made his way towards the Office, where the Headmaster is waiting for him. When he got there, he knocked, "May I come in?" He asked before coming in. Sitting at his own desk, he turned to his boss, "So, what do you want to discuss first?" Midora asked as he rubbed his temples, showing obvious signs of fatigue.

Mikari stretched his arms and yawned as he saw the fight was quickly ended when Kou jumped in. Boooooriiiiiing. He sheepishly thought. Although this was a knock-down game and stuff, but things could end that easily? The two boys let their guard down too easy. "Oh well, I guess my job is done. Let's get to rest," Mikari said to himself and was about to stand up, but then a certain of Incubus came to him and asked if they can talk and that he wanted to get away.

He then tilted his head a bit with a smile, "Now looks who decided to come for me. We've just done a couple of rounds a few hours ago and now you're in the mood again?" He teased, "Heh, just kidding. Let's go to my room. That's really the only private place I got in this Academy." He shrugged as he stood up, "I'm too lazy to teleport. Hope you don't mind walking."

With that said, Mikari took Ruzik to the Teachers' quarter and both of them then enter his room. "Feel free to sit anywhere you want." Mikari smiles light-heartedly as he sat down at a chair at the desk and crossed his legs, "Now, confide time. What advice may I offer?" Mikari asks, although he is pretty much figured out what has happened by now.

Memphis watched as Midora entered and settled himself down at his desk. Ceasing his small flame the demon looked to the mage and could notice is tiredness a little, giving a rather unsure expression as he tapped his fingers against the desk. "I get the feeling that some at this academy do not approve of the way I do things… even some students dare speak up to me, and staff. I guess saying that I would kick their ass was not a positive step forward, but I stand by it all the same."

Getting up from his seat Memphis calmly walked over to the other desk where the mage sat, sitting himself down against the edge of the seat as he turned his body to face Midora. "Anyway, I just wanted to cover a few things before tonight. Nothing major, just some things I felt were worth mentioning so we avoid any issues later." Adjusting himself just slightly, he faced the mage more directly. "I don’t know how much my master has told you of me before I was sent here, since I know that you both at least know each other, I don’t know if he ever mentioned me. As such, I am a fire demon and will not take kindly to you dragging me anywhere near water – it does nothing good for me, so keep that in mind."

Being reminded suddenly the demon reached into a pocket on the inside of his jacket. "You should take this," Memphis dug out a pendant of some kind and held it out to the mage. It was a pretty normal looking pendant adoring a bright shade of red that was attached to the end of a necklace. "My master told me to give this to you, it’s a pendant that grants me access to my full strength that I otherwise cannot access due to my human form. Whether you know this or not, due to not being born in this world my powers were deemed unsuitable to be freely used whilst I was here. My abilities were destructive to your world. Realizing this, my master sealed half of my strength into this pendant and has kept it for as long as I can remember. He chose you to keep it in his absence."

Sitting the item down on the desk in front of Midora, the demon moved his gaze between the pendant and mage. "It is only to be given to me in emergencies when I need it, otherwise do not let me have it. I cannot express how important that pendant is and by no means should you tell anyone about it, I trust you… Midora. My master spoke highly of you, so I respect him enough to believe in his decision to choose you to keep it."

Sliding off the desk the Headmaster stood upright and crossed his arms against his chest. "Besides my master I haven’t fought alongside anyone other than him. So it is wise for you to know that I am a bit… reckless on the battlefield. I specialize in destruction, not precision. If you kept a safe distance from me whenever we are facing against something that would be preferable, unless you fancy your chances against my fire. I can’t guarantee I won’t hurt you, so that is why I say this."

Taking a few steps away from the desk Memphis glanced about the room briefly, tapping his fingers against his arms aimlessly. "That was it really, I guess I didn’t have that much to say after all. But if you have any questions then by all means ask, as really all I wanted to do was give you that pendant without prying eyes watching. My master picked you so I will trust him with that choice, as I believe he seems to know best. However, you and my master are two different people. He is the best mage in existence and has earned my respect over the years he raised me, you however may or may not compare to him. I will be the judge of that. But for now you should get some rest, you look tired and I can’t afford for you to mess up tonight. That is all I have to say."

As they entered the room Ruzik looked over the area quietly, though Mikari said he could sit anywhere he wanted the incubus didn't feel a need to sit down just yet. Stepping inside he made his way over to beside some drawers and leaned against it slightly whilst waiting for the mage to sit. Once he had and spoke to the boy, Ruzik looked away from the man and focused his gaze onto the floor.

”Me and Kou broke up,” The demon spoke though clearly his words hurt in him in some form. Maybe not by much but it was always easy to tell when something was bothering Ruzik, the incubus was hardly the subtle type when it came to hiding his emotions when it came to a certain rabbit. ”I... said that it was over between us after she kissed Ichiro. But she only kissed him to annoy me because I was... a little rough with her before. But that still doesn’t make it right that she did that, she’s suppose to be the good one between us. Kou isn’t supposed to kiss other guys, it’s me who messes around with others – not her.”

For a moment Ruzik looked to the mage, secretly wondering what he thought on the matter. Did Mikari side with Kou, or him? Was there any sides to take? Ruzik believed there was as most things general felt like some sort of battle with Kou, their love affair was quite a battlefield even at the best of times. ”She said I hurt her when I go off with other people and sleep with them, that really it’s me who needs her more and how apparently I make promises that I don’t intend to keep.” The demon couldn’t resist rolling his eyes as he spoke, ”We made some deal before the challenge, if I lost then I’d have to apologize to her, but if I won then I could do whatever I wanted to her. Needless to say how that went…”

Leaning off the drawer the demon walked over to where Mikari sat and stood in front of him, crossing his arms and leaning in closer to the mage. ”Mikari, be honest with me. Can an incubus be faithful to someone they… like a lot?” He asked quite genuinely, as the redhead truly did not know if it was due to his genes or just himself that caused the male to be un-loyal to the rabbit. Stepping closer, Ruzik moved himself to beside Mikari and sat his hands against the mage’s shoulder. ”I don’t know what it is, but since I met her all those years ago… and now here, just yesterday. My hearts feels like its being strangled, it gets tight and beats quicker when I’m around her. Is there something wrong with me? Sometimes I overreact with Kou, I just want to keep her safe though everything I do seems to be viewed wrongly. I don't know why I act the way I do around her, she just makes me go... crazy.”

Sighing, he shifted round and sat himself down on Mikari’s lap before resting his head against the man’s shoulder. ”Things were different after Kou was taken away by hunters, I never did try to protect her and I just let them take her away. I was on my own for a long time after that, things happened to me and I guess I changed because of it…” Soon after the incubus move a little and then buried his face into the mage’s chest. ”Mikari, how can I get Kou to like me better? I don’t want her going off with others guys – I’ll kill any guy who thinks he has a shot with her! In fact, actually what can I do to get others to like me more? What do I do that is so wrong?”

Midora admits that he has been a little... well, not a little, but rather over-working himself recently. Of course, he once was the Headmaster for a couple of months before his resignation and during those times, he took all the responsibilities for himself. People might think him as some sort of work-aholic, but he never really shows his tiredness with anyone. Only Mikari who is always close to him might realize this. He knows that even when his power is sealed, his mana pool is still larger than most people and he can perform spells without resting much for a long period. But despite that, he's been a bit over-straining himself lately. Plus, the spell which he used to sink Laurence's Light earlier also used up a good deal of his mana. Which is why he's showing signs of fatigue, which was rare. He wouldn't say that he'd fancied moments like these. But after all, he's still a human, it just that being treated like a monster for most of his life has made him forgot how human he is. Sometimes, he envies that Mikari can be so carefree without much to care about. But, fate can be such a cruel master sometime, wasn't it?

He turned his gaze to Memphis as the Demon speak on how some of the students dared to speak up to him. Midora leaned his chin on both of his clasped hands and closed his eyes as he spoke, softly, "I understand that some of them aren't so willingly to follow what we said, but we're living in a society with freedom of speech, after all. I know you wanted to show that you're a superior figure and your words are laws. If it's for the improvement of this Academy, then I don't mind. But what you need is to retain your composure. Don't let whatever the students said affect you. Be strict to them, intimidate them, but you have to be sensitive and put yourself in their place sometimes."

Midora listened and watched quietly as the Demon rises from his seat and walked towards his desk before turning to face him. He mentioned that their meeting right now is about some couple of things that Memphis thought it is best for Midora to know before their mission tonight. He wouldn't mind though, this is a chance for him to know that Demon better. Because he has never heard his Sensei mentioned about him during Midora's time studying under him. The red-head Demon carries out the fact that he is a fire demon and that he hates being near water. Midora raised an eyebrow. Does he really dislike to be near water this much? He figures that this might be a problem when the Sage arrive tonight. He'd better talk about this to him to avoid any unnecessary quarrels later.

Memphis seemed to suddenly remember somethings as he reached for his pocket and pulled out a pendant of sort. Its style looks just like Midora's necklace, but instead of a white-circled crystal, it was a gem with red shade of sorts. Memphis then further stated that his Master has entrusted Midora to keep it and said that it was actually a seal that kept half of the Demon's power in it. Midora understands why his Sensei chooses him to keep this in his place. Looks like we're having something in common, after all. Midora thought as he glanced at the pendant that Memphis has just put on his desk, then turned his gaze to his own necklace for a short moment before fixed his eyes back to the Demon.

Midora wasn't sure how to feel when he heard the Headmaster said that he trusts him, because his Master, also Midora's Sensei trusts him. From the look of it, it seems that Memphis really held his Master in high regards. Of course, Midora also shows great respects toward the old Mage, because he is the one who has contributed to shape Midora and Mikari into who they are today. But, he has never realized that his Sensei would relied on him with such responsibility. Despite studying with him before, he wasn't that closed to the old Mage. But nonetheless, he has entrusted him with such task, so he has no other choice then do accept it and try his best to do it.

After that, Memphis talked about why Midora should keep a considerable distance away from the Demon and that he can be quite a beast on the battlefield, in which he listened intently and merely nodded. He can already figured that out. But Midora also managed to see a different side of the Demon, when he heard that he don't want him to get hurt, although he can't guarantee that he won't. It's been a while since someone ever said that to him and it felt kinda... nice? He quietly shook his head then listened to the rest of what his boss got to say, before speaking up himself.

"I understand why your Master has chosen me to keep this pendant in his place, so I guess that I have no other choice but to follow what he has entrusted. Like I said before, I've always respected him like a father figure. So, if he trusts me, then I will have to do my best. After all, this is something that the two of us have in common. We are too much of a threat to be let loose in this world." He said as he took the pendant and placed it inside his toga before looking up to him again, "However, there's something I'd like to state. I know that Hirukawa-sensei is very meaningful to you and that you'll always follow what he got to said. And of course, he's one of the strongest Mage the world has ever seen and one of the few Mages that I can looked up to, not only by his power, but also by his wisdom and the way he treated the others, regardless Mages or Demons. In fact, he's so far the only person who has managed to blocked an attack from me at my full strength. But as you said, Sensei and I are much different from each other and I don't expect to be compare to him in any aspects. He once was a legendary Sage that has put and end to a dark era who was always been looked up by people, even when he's retired now. And I'm just a monster no less that used to do many terrible things, someone who shouldn't have even existed in this world. They didn't call me 'The Bringer of Desolation' for no reasons, you know. They feared me, and at the same time, they show their disgusts, hatred and alienation towards me. I even have to kill the person whom I once loved the most by these two hands. Which is why, I don't want to be put in comparison with anyone, especially if that person is someone whom I showed the greatest of my respect to. But despite that, that is in the past and sitting here right now is the me of the present. Devoting my strenght to assist you is my duty. The right to judge is in your hand."

Midora then leaned on his chair and stayed quiet for a bit. It is true that they treated him like trash in the past. He knows that looking up to the present is what he should do. But will his past continue to haunt him for the rest of eternity? Sometimes, he did wonder that does he even has a place in this world? Does the world even need someone like him to exist? He has tried and seek the answer for so long now. He let out a quiet sigh before turned back to Memphis again, "You said earlier that I shouldn't drag you near water. If that's the case then retaining your composure is important tonight. The Department has informed me of the Sage who will come as a back-up for us when the high class monster appear. Her name is Isolde Esphire, who owned the title of "The Ace in Ice." She's the Sage of Water and one of the strongest Water Mages of the nation, whose specialty is Ice Magic. Isolde is very combative and she won't hesitate to blast anyone standing on her way. She held quite a high rank in the Ministry too. Which is why I hope that you won't do anything rash to her just because she's someone who can manipulate ice and water. But no need to worry because she's quite friendly and won't harm even an ant unless you do anything that displeases her. Just a small piece of reminder. I hope that you won't take it too serious so that we can avoid any unnecessary clashes after we've completed the mission."

After finishing everything that he got to say, Midora stood up, "And one more things, it looks like Mikari's group is going to change their Mage again. It might sound irritating for students to keep getting in and out like that, but it is somethings that happening regularly so everyone needs to be adaptive. That's all I got to say. If you don't mind, I will take my leave and rest for now. Though should you need anything else, I'll be on after a next few hours." Midora then gave his boss a graceful bow before turned to the door and left the Office then headed for his room. On his way, he sighed as he rubbed his forehead. I need to take some Elixir...

Upon getting back to his own sanctuary, Midora let himself fell onto his bed with a thump. He pulled out a vial with purple color from the drawer next to his bedpost and drank half of the thing. Within seconds later, the Dark Mage quickly fallen into his slumber. For now, no one or nothing would wake him up in the couple of hours later.

Mikari watched on as his favorite Incubus leaned his face against his chest. He smiled lightly. From what he can felt, it seemed that Ruzik was truly genuine about his relationship with Kou. This is a trait that Mikari has always held high regards to from Incubus alike. It is true that their nature is to sleeping around with people, but if someone ever caught their hearts, they'd be loyal to those feelings. Mikari then gently held Ruzik's face up by his chin as he gave him a light kiss on his forehead.

"Silly, silly Ruzik." Mikari said with a teasing tone, "The problem that you're having is that you're trying to dominate a bunny. And you know bunnies, they've been so used to be free, running around green fields, eating carrots, bla bla bla and nothing would be able to caged them. And the bunny whose owner was the oh-so-mighty Tsukuyomi - the God of Moon himself is a different story. You desires freedom, but have you ever taken into consideration that Kou-san needed her freedom too? I'm not being bias to you just because you're having a deal of some sort with me and I don't stand on Kou-san's side or anything. I'm a Teacher and I need to be equal. Bear that in mind when you're listening."

Mikari straighten himself up, but still positioned Ruzik on his lap. "For some reason, I felt myself kind of... sympathetic with Kou-san. I have a long list of lovers, both men and women and my love for them is always genuine. I never betray them and I only sleep with them if they're true to me too. But looks like fate couldn't be more cruel, huh? For some reason, anyone I tried to go out with betrays me and I couldn't remember how many times I got a slap on my face for no damn reasons. Whereas I'm clearly the victim." Mikari said with a depressing sigh as he slightly touched his cheek, "Which is the reason why I can't love anyone anymore and the only person that I'd put my trust in now was a certain of meanie Dark Mage known as my Dora-chin." Mikari giggled a bit as he spoke.

"So you see, even for someone like me got to hardened my heart after being betrayed for so many times. Then would someone like Kou-san just stood there and endure while you keep got on affairs behind her back like that? I don't know much about Kou-san like you, but there's one thing for sure is that she really did look out for you, too." Mikari smiled light-heartedly. Well, you might call him a love doctor of some sort when dealing with this problems, even though he really can't fall in love again, or at least that was what he thought. "I once met a few Incubus and Succubus who are now living happily with the person they loved for at least 10 years now. Which is why I believe that whether you're an Incubus or not, you can try to be faithful with someone if that's what you truly wish for. So, this is what I will suggest."

Mikari then rested his arm on the arm chair and leaned his head against it, "I understand that sleeping around like you usually did is not easy to change because that is your nature, but now since the two of us are having a deal, don't get laid with anyone else but me should you need to release your needs. After this, go and apologize to Kou-san in the nicest manner you can and try to show that you truly wanted her back into your arms. And trying to be less dominating for now. If you love something, let it be free. If she ever trying to do stuffs like what she did to Ichiro, it means she's testing you. Don't try to show any sign of jealousy towards her or the person whom she's taking advantage of. Care for her, hanging out with her more and try to talk to her. But you can always keep a secret eye so that nothing could harm her, you know. They said: There is great force hidden in a sweet command. Kou might play hard-to-get, but when she felt that you truly love her, she'll understand. And I'll try to make our little affair as undetectable as I can."

After Mikari has finished, he looked up into the Incubus' eyes again, "So, have you understand? For the other people, you should try to bark them less from now on. No one's gonna like you if you keep baring your teeth to them like that. Avoid quarreling with anyone who are on a bad term with you right now like Etelka or Liliane. You might wanna strike up a trusty friendship with your Mage first. Be a good boy and I'll reward you with some candies ~" He teases and grinned playfully, "You two will make a nice couple and rest assure that you have my blessing. Listen to your own heart and you'll know what to do." It's not easy to change a person, especially for someone like Ruzik, but all that Mikari has to do is stay back and observe on whether if his favorite Incubus would take his word or not and how will he put it in action.

Memphis listened as Midora spoke though as to whether any of it really stuck in his mind was another thing entirely. The demon could be so stubborn at the best of times, only ever listening to his master though even that relationship wasn’t an entirely good one. However, two things certainly caught the demons attention. The first being the mages devotion to assist the Headmaster, as even though he may not say it so soon the dark mage had helped the demon on some level thus far into their partnership.

The other thing was by far more thought-consuming when Midora mentioned the Sage who would be coming to offer back-up for the two tonight. As if the higher-ups couldn’t have sent any other mage they had to send a water mage of some kind to annoy him. Was it on purpose? Did they wish to challenge the Headmaster? His face practically gave away ever inch of displeasure the demon felt towards the news, and as to how he would act tonight even Memphis wasn’t sure. "Great, just what I need." Be it for whatever reason Memphis hated water mages, and just in general all water-related things. Maybe it was out of instinct? He was a fire demon after all, and knew from personal experience how water could affect his powers. Just thinking of this water mage caused him to be uneasy for a moment.

Just then Midora also mentioned a change to one of the groups, a sigh quickly fleeing the lips of the demon in response. "Fine, fine I’ll take care of it. You may leave now, and I’ll be sure to see you tonight." He assured the mage before giving him a nod, watching as the man left the room at that moment. Quickly after though, the Headmaster also left the room soon after the mage though began to walk down the opposite corridor. He began to make his way down to the reception area and pick up the new mage for one of the groups.

Sometime after, Memphis was walking down one of the hallways as he lead the way. The blonde girl kept up behind him as the Headmaster found the student where he believed she was, and once realizing what the reason behind the sudden change was he made it a priority to ensure the girl was grouped with her teammates as soon as possible to avoid further issues. He really didn't need any more problems! However, granted the inconvenience irked him some, it was entirely the academy's fault.

Eventually the pair arrived at the cafeteria as such a place was always occupied by students and the Headmaster knew there was a high chance of finding one of the students he was currently searching for. Soon enough, at a table he noticed the rabbit-eared girl sitting and immediately lead the mage over to the table that the rabbit sat herself. Without meaning to surprise Kou, the Headmaster stood at the table and sat his hands against the table.

"I hope I am not intruding however a matter has come to my attention that needs to be seen to immediately," He explained briefly and looked to the rabbit. "Apparently this boy is not your intended mage, the academy has made an error and misplaced some students. Your rightful mage is actually Momoko, I do hope this inconvenience does not trouble you too much." Shooting a stare to the boy the man added, "You will come with me." Taking the boy by the shoulder Memphis raised him up from his seat gently, guiding the boy to the side before retuning his attention to the rabbit and mage-girl. "I would advise you show Momoko to her dorm so she can settle in and know her team better, if that isn’t too much trouble Kou." With that said he took his leave with the mage-boy and exited the cafeteria.

Momoko turned to look at the girl who had rabbit ears, just managing to hold back her eagerness to reach forth and pinch the fluffy bunny ears that tempted her so. Once the redhead had left the girl promptly dropped to her knees and onto the ground, before raising her hands to the air, and bending forward as she seemed to bow to the rabbit girl who sat. ”I-It is truly a pleasure to meet you Miss Rabbit, you are a very lovely looking demon and I cannot wait for us to get to know one another,” With her hands down flat against the ground, the girl peeked up at the girl known as Kou. ”My name is Momoko Sawada and I am a mage, I specialize in energy absorption and know a bit of elemental manipulation as well as health restoration. Though I am still learning them, but I would be happy to tell you anything else if you desired to know it? Feel free to ask!”

Sitting back up, the blonde girl gradually got onto her feet and upright once more. Turning a little she faced the rabbit directly, clasping her hands in front of her before tiling her head forward. ”I hope we get along well Miss Rabbit, I have heard a bit about you and I truly am fascinated by your… ears.” Giving said ears another adoring gaze the girl straightened herself again, fiddling with her kimono sleeves somewhat as Momo tried to think of something else to say. ”O-Oh yes, if you could show me to my dorm that would be much appreciated. I need to check if my belongings have arrived safely, and I’ve already eaten so I’m good to go when you are.” Waiting her response, Momo dropped her hands to her sides and gave the rabbit a friendly smile.

The time for the mission to commence was slowly drawing nearer and the Headmaster was visibly edgy as result, mostly out of the irksome feeling he was bothered by due to knowing that soon he would possibly come across a water mage. Regardless he couldn’t dwell on it long as he had been busy sorting a few things out before the group left tonight for the mission, mainly assuring that order would still be established in his absence from the academy and in turn meaning that Memphis would have to try and put some faith in both Mikari and Sarah to keep a handle on things.

Since there would be a handful of students left in the academy from his class it was only to be expected that the teachers would need to keep an eye on them and assure no trouble arose. Those students consisted of Kou, Ruzik, Momoko, Etelka, Bugby and Liliane. However, the students were free of any exercises for tonight. They had gone through enough for one day and so were granted free time for the remainder of the night till their other classmates returned and normality was restored. Hopefully they would enjoy their time and not waste it, though given the small few who were left, Memphis didn’t entirely believe things would be smooth sailing.

With a slight sigh escaping his lips the demon rose to his feet and sidestepped round his desk. Pushing a finger against the intercom he turned the small machine on and then began to make an announcement, "First year students of the Headmasters class, this is just a reminder that you are expected to arrive by 10 pm for your mission tonight. We meet at the Academy Entrance – Do not be late! I will be there personally to meet you so I'll know! Oh, and make sure you are ready, and be prepared. That's all!"

It was short and sweet, and to the point. Memphis wasn’t one to drag things out and really all he cared for was to ensure those selected students arrived on time, and didn’t keep him waiting. Those students of course were Laurence, Dúyè, Muse, Cleo, Ichiro and Hive. An odd bunch though perhaps one that could work together, or not. Either way, Memphis would not accept failure from his students so easily. He expected their cooperation. Whether he had to force it out of them though was another matter entirely.

In the meantime the demon went about tending to any unfinished business he had before that night. He made it a priority to track both Mikari and Sarah down and ensure they were up for minding the other students. Their jobs were simple - just watch over the students. He had not given direct orders to the teachers, other than to keep students in line, naturally. That, and to intervene where appropriate. Beyond that was up to them so long as the students got along, Memphis cared little as to how they dealt with the students. And keep certain individuals from killing one another.

Time-Skip || Academy Entrance || Night-Time

The night had fast approached and Memphis was already at the designated location for the group to meet up, quietly awaiting the arrival of the students and his colleague, Midora. However the Headmaster had arrived early, so there was still some time to wait, just. Binding his time he remained standing by the entrance and quietly thought over those who would be in charge of his academy whilst he was away. Not that Memphis overly cared for the place, and he’d only just arrived that day, and yet the demon was oddly loyal to the building though that was only due to his master. Why else would he care for such a place.

The demon crossed his arms over and leaned against a wall lazily. He only hoped it wouldn't rain tonight and things flowed well, though giving his luck at times it was unlikely. Exhaling a puff of smoke the redhead sighed boredly, "Those kids better get here soon."

The day had passed by rather quickly for Cleo, though it wasn’t as if she minded. The feline had not long ago had something to eat with Ichiro, Hive and Bugby in the cafeteria earlier and was feeling pretty good by that point. Though the girl had snuck off not too long ago to change into some fresher clothes before tonight began. She wasn’t too sure what the boys had done in the meantime, though when hearing the Headmasters announcement the girl made it her priority to ensure she was ready for tonight. The feline had also made sure to see her teammate before she left, ensuring Bugby she would return soon just to especially annoy him when she got back!

Cleo stood eagerly and waited for more members of the group to arrive. The feline had arrived early, seemingly so did the Headmaster as the older demon stood leaning against a wall. Though Cleo wasn’t really sure what to say to the man, or even if he was in a talkative mood. Maybe not. For whatever reason she had been chosen to go on the mission, and knowing that would motivate the feline to do her best in the up-coming task. Quietly purring to herself, the feline stood and tried to focus her thoughts on the mission at hand. She needed to be mature about this. No fooling around was allowed, and what mattered more was ensuring Ichiro’s safety whilst they were out there. He was her mage, her top priority. As if things weren’t pressurizing enough, she had her supervising teacher watching her too, once remembering Midora would be there soon, so she couldn’t afford to mess up! However, at least she had Ichiro and Hive with her, which eased the pressure a little.

The other three students seemed nice to though Cleo only really knew Muse out of the other three. Shaking her head the girl refocused again, staring up to her Headmaster. ”Uh, Cleo Gardenia reporting for duty!” She purred and gave the man a smile, before moving her gaze elsewhere whilst searching for the next arrival to join their group. Hopefully someone would arrive soon to keep her company.

Kou cringed, she had not meant for it to sound so harsh. She simply wanted to teach Ruzik the error of his ways and if he wasn't scolded he would never learn. "Take all the time you need," the rabbit spoke softly to Momoko, realizing that this might have traumatized her"if you want anything I'll be right out here."

It was hard to stay mad at someone so innocent, Ruzik truly didn't realize that this was the wrong way to act so it would be best to simply point out what he had done wrong. Which Kou had done, perhaps a bit too strongly. "I'm sorry," Kou shook her head as he grabbed her by the waist and rest his head against her stomach. "I didn't mean for it to come out that way," her voice was quiet and she ran a hand through his red tresses. Kou cupped his chin in her fingers and kissed his forehead.

"I'm not going to leave you, it's quite obvious you need help and I don't think the teachers are going to give it to you." Kou sighed, "you're not a monster, but you're certainly no angel either." the rabbit cocked a hip, giving him a sorry smile. Momoko came out of the bathroom then, looking a bit more put together then before. She hadn't fallen apart which was good, but she had seemed quite frazzled and upset by the stunt Ruzik had pulled. The demon breathed a sigh of relief at the human's words, glad they were not going to lose yet another mage. She hesitated before taking Momoko's hand as the girl had just stated a 'no touch' rule but if she didn't want them to take it surely she wouldn't have put them out?

"Alright, I already ate but I could always go for seconds." Kou had decided to take the girl's hand and released it at this point. She stood from the bed and gave a sidelong glance at Ruzik. "Are you sure you don't want to come? I know you don't eat but..." Kou trailed off, realizing that he wanted to be alone. "Alright, stay out of trouble and if you need anything come to me." She told the incubus and rifled through her pockets, producing a glossy red lollipop. Kou placed it on the bed beside Ruzik and turned to Momoko.

"Shall we go then?"

Hearing of China was fascinating and Muse was captivated by the description, even if Venom had made it sound less than enchanting. Nevertheless, Muse wanted to know everything about this apparently tiny, shitty village but before she had the chance to inquire Venom asked Muse about herself. The demon hesitated, reaching up to scratch the spot where her horns connected to her head and squirming a bit in her seat before finally answering.

"I come from Germany, but other than that I don't know much about myself." She tapped her head as if to say she were stupid, "memory loss. Apparently the Mages found me in the ruins of a village and they kept me in their branch headquarters for a few days before sending me here." Muse had finished her dessert by now and pushed the tray away, wondering if the tea was to Venom's liking.

"Do you really paint?" Muse asked as Venom had spoke before of something inspiring her to paint a picture. Just then Memphis's voice came over the loud speaker, requesting that those who were in the Headmaster class begin to prepare and meet at the front of the academy. "I guess it's time to go," Muse stood and stretched her arms above her head, causing her shirt to rise a bit. She quickly pulled it down and offered Venom a hand up. "Shall we go?"

Bugby Marshall

Bugby had made it to the cafeteria with Cleo and the group, though once the Headmasters announcement came over the speakers he knew the three would likely began getting ready for their mission, or whatever it was. ”Well, I wish you luck.” He told the two males, noticing Cleo had hurried off just moments before. With that said Bugby also took his leave and left the two, figuring that with his teammates gone then he would be left on his own and need to find something to busy himself with in their absence.

He decided to head to the library for now and distract himself in the meantime, though maybe later he’d go see some of the other students who were still at the academy with him, maybe. He knew that they didn’t have anything else to do for today, and without his teammates to annoy him, the demon would enjoy what little quiet-time he could. With that in mind he made his way to the library, figuring he’d so some reading of a few things that were tickling his interest at that moment. Once there, the demon began to search through the aisles before selecting a book and sitting himself down to read.

Laurence Snow

Image

Laurence had fallen asleep and remained in a peaceful slumbering state for a good while before waking up sometime later. Feeling better than what he was prior, the mage was now sat at the desk and revising some of the spells from the book that Mr. Kurayami had given him. The boy tried his best to remember as many as he could though really he’d only need a few, so overloading his mind with unnecessary information was a little pointless.

Whilst busy concentrating his focus was disturbed for a moment, as a voice suddenly filled the hallways outside the room and quickly Laurence recognized it to be the Headmaster. "First year students of the Headmasters class, this is just a reminder that you are expected to arrive by 10 pm for your mission tonight. We meet at the Academy Entrance – Do not be late! I will be there personally to meet you so I'll know! Oh, and make sure you are ready, and be prepared. That's all!" Figuring it was time to make a move, Laurence closed the book over and place it to the side of the desk. Getting to his feet, the boy yawned quietly and stretched his arms out to either side of him.

”Guess I better get ready.” He told himself, before walking over to the wardrobe and lifting out a set of fresh clothes to change into. The ones he was wearing were still stained with blood from his earlier injury, and so Laurence disappeared into the bathroom to change himself. Once done, and after a quick wash, the boy headed back into the room and picked up the black wand. Since Etelka said he could use it, the boy would, though kept in mind to not use it recklessly or rely on it too much. ”That’s me leaving Etelka, I’ll see you later.”

Announcing his departure the mage left the room and headed down the hallway, making his way across the academy as he tried to locate the entrance. Thankfully it wasn’t that hard to find, and Laurence managed to arrive at the entrance with not too much difficulty. Upon being there right away he saw the Headmaster and Cleo, sighing a little as it was a relief to know he wasn’t the only one there. Once close enough he looked to the older demon, ”Laurence present, Sir.” The mage wasn’t sure if he had to introduce himself or not, but he figure doing so couldn’t hurt. A moment later he faced the cat-girl and gave her a smile. ”Hey Cleo, you must’ve gotten here pretty early, huh?”

He wondered when the others would arrive, especially Venom. He hadn’t seen her since he left with Mr. Kurayami, but he figured she’d arrive sooner or later. For now though he just stood and crossed his arms in his attempt to retain some warmth.

Momoko Sawada

Image

Momoko was relieved that the demons seemed to comply with what she said, and that no more trouble had arisen as consequence. Relaxing her shoulders the girl stood upright, happy that at least Kou would come with her. Ruzik however, for some reason did not wish to accompany them. Was he avoiding her? She hoped not, she didn’t wish to make the redhead feel uncomfortable around her, though Momoko decided to give him space if that was what he wished.

”If that is what you want Ruzik, I don’t mind…and I don’t want you putting yourself out either, you are very welcome here as any of us are. Please don’t feel bad about earlier,” She tried to reassure the demon, hoping that they could get past the incident from earlier. ”You know where to find us if you change your mind, I’d love for you to join us at some point, when you’re feeling up to it maybe?” Not wishing to pressure the demon into it the mage dropped the matter and gave him a quick bow, before offering a nod to Kou and making her way towards the door and propped it open a little. ”Yep, let’s go, I’m actually kind of starving now that I think about it, haha.”

Making her way outside Momoko waited for Kou to follow her out of the room, and once the rabbit had done so and shut the door, the mage gave a sigh and quietly asked the other girl, ”He’s going to be alright, isn’t he? I hope he doesn’t view me too badly because of what happened.” Shaking her head lightly the girl turned on her heel, riding her mind of such thoughts and keeping herself calm. ”We should keep moving.” Moving forward the mage took the lead and began to walk down the hallway, though she hadn’t looked back to the rabbit during her short walk to the corner of the hallway, until the girl finally stopped and waited for her demon to catch up. She knew where the cafeteria was vaguely, though would need Kou to get there without becoming lost completely.

When Kou did reach the mage again, Momoko turned to look at her only with a wide smile this time. ”Oh, I know! If he doesn’t join us later I can bring something from the cafeteria to him, whatever thing he likes to eat! Maybe a cake or something, or some proper food. It could be a peace offering to make it up to him, I suppose. Though I do wish he'd come to us, rather.”

Ruzik gave a nod to the two girls to confirm he wasn’t joining them, though surprisingly both the mage and rabbit wanted his company which caused a small smile to form on his lips. ”You two go on ahead and if I feel up to it then… maybe I’ll come find you, since you’re so eager to have me with you.” He told the mage somewhat teasingly and then watched the young girl heading for the door, soon taking her leave. Redirecting his gaze onto Kou afterwards, the demon slid off the bed and took hold of the lollipop she had placed out for him and walked up to her. ”Fine, fine, if I need anything I’ll come find you, I swear. Don’t worry so much.

Wrapping his arms around her, he stole a quick hug from the rabbit as he held Kou close to him for a minute or so. It was merely to reassure the girl that he would seek her should he need the rabbit, since Ruzik wasn’t exactly the best keeper of promises and Kou knew that, but he would at least try for her sake. ”Now go, I’ll see you soon.” Releasing her, he moved to the side to let Kou pass and quickly unwrapped and stuck the lollipop in his mouth. ”Don’t worry I won’t cause any trouble while you’re gone, you can trust me, you know.”

Standing there he waited for the rabbit to leave and follow on after their mage, giving her a warm smile as Ruzik leaned against the drawers and crossed his arms. He waited until Kou was out of the room before moving himself, listening behind the door to ensure both girls were perfectly gone before he slowly opened the door and quietly let himself out. Suspicious perhaps, but the incubus instinctively felt the urge to sneak out whilst the girls were gone. His initial thoughts being that of bad things that he would inevitably do, however the notion quickly past and the demon was left standing in the hall feeling a little uncertain of himself. Unsurprisingly it was in his nature to be bad and do wicked things, but what Ruzik had learned only some time ago was that his sense of fun was not quite like everyone else's. Was that why others didn’t like him?

It was certainly a strong possibility, and the incubus did feel a degree of guilt towards how he had treated his mage. The poor girl had only said she had never been kissed by a boy, and yet the incubus felt the instinct to react in what he would have considered an appropriate way. But clearly he was wrong. Walking down the hallway somewhat aimlessly at first Ruzik eventually settled on a course of action, perhaps joining his teammates sooner or later, however something sparked in his mind that compelled the demon to act upon it. He was looking for someone, a mage. One who owed him an apology, but if the redhead was to truly better himself, and prove himself to Kou, he would need to tend to some loose ends and mend any issues affecting him, primarily regarding those who hated him.

Walking around the academy the demon was in search of Liliane. He didn’t know where she was however, she could have been in the infirmary, her dorm, or anywhere. It was rather troublesome to say the least and Ruzik had asked countless figures if they had seen the mage, to which gradually but surely lead him in the right direction. Soon enough he found the girl on her own, though for how long that would last the incubus wasn’t sure. That lousy woman would likely appear soon enough and come running to the girls defense, whatever her name was. Rayne, or something.

”Liliane,” He called to gain the girls attention. He didn’t care what she was doing or if he was bothering her, but he wanted to talk and that was what he would do. ”I’d like to make amends with you, for earlier. I may have acted inappropriately towards you… so I’m just here to apologize.” Forcing a smile the incubus approached the mage and took a few steps closer to her, though still maintained some distance between them. ”You almost killed me and rightly I should despise you, which I sort-of do. However, similarly it’s not often I meet someone who’s came that close to ending my life, so I guess what I’m trying to say… in some way… is that I know now that I was maybe pushing some boundaries with you. For that, I'm sorry.”

Tilting his head to the side he looked to the mage-girl rather curiously. Whether she believed it or not the demon meant no harm to her, thus his rather cautious nature towards the girl. ”In all honesty I’m trying to build bridges, you could say. I’d rather not start any trouble with you and instead, I guess, get along with you in some way. Which is also why I’m here,” Pausing for a moment the incubus thought over his words carefully, figuring out how to word his intentions exactly. ”I'd like it if we hanged out and showed the teachers we can get along. I also have a new mage you see, a young girl about your age I imagine. I think you'd get along with her, and I think it would do her good to be surrounded by others who weren't like... myself. Maybe you could get to know her a bit, that sort of thing. Maybe even give her tips on how to handle me since you seem so good at it, heh.”

Despite his innocent enough request, the demon always had some form of ulterior motive behind everything he did. This was no exception either, though Ruzik did wish good things for Momoko it was not his exact goal to achieve, so to say. ”She should be heading for the cafeteria about now with Kou, I’ll be going there soon enough. So, what do you say? Do this for me and I won’t have a reason to bother you anymore, in fact I may even return the favour and do something for you if you'd like? I'm trying to be reasonable with you, even though your reasons for hating me are beyond my knowledge. We don't have to be friends Liliane, but we can tolerate each other if we help one another out, right?”

Cleo Gardenia

Image

Cleo smiled to the young mage who approached her, the boy being Laurence who she had met before in the infirmary. ”Yeah I guess, though it’s great to see you made it here too.” It was just the two of them there for now, as well as the Headmaster. At least it was a small chance to get to know some of the others better before things kicked off, so she’d enjoy her time with Laurence for now. ”I hear you got a big part to play in the mission tonight, are you excited?” She asked with a slight purr, shifting herself over closer to the boy. He had crossed his arms and looked a bit cold, so Cleo instinctively wrapped an arm round his shoulders and pulled him a little closer to her to give the mage more heat. ”It’s a little chilly tonight so we best stick together, you look cold.”

Liliane was taken aback by the Headmaster's outburst. She didn't expect someone of high authority to lose their composure like he had. Shortly after he left Etelka left as well saying she really didn't want any help at all. If the demon didn't want any help then it had nothing to do with Liliane. The demon wouldn't be her problem when danger came. Even Sarah left while muttering her sudden dislike for Memphis. Everyone else had left already so Liliane closed her eyes and let out a sigh. It was quiet despite being at a large school being well populated. But the quietness was suddenly interrupted by a voice Liliane had learned to hate. He said he wanted to apologize despite the hard feelings between the two. When he suggested the two "hang out" Lili's eyes widened. Hang out with the enemy? That would be like her mother's killer asking to go and hang out at the movies and do some bowling. Then he mentioned the new mage. Liliane hadn't seen the person yet but Ruzik suggest they get to know each other.

"I'll go but this is extremely suspicious. I don't trust you as far as i can, literally, throw you if I had the strength of a gerbil. I will not take your offer. I don't negotiate or make deals with demons." Liliane went to stand behind Ruzik. "I'll let you lead the way. If you make a move I don't like then you will know what it's like to have your neck snapped quickly." Ruzik wanted to be on better terms with Liliane but the mage didn't buy it. It was only this morning that he threatened her. And it was to do things with her body. No way was she letting that slide by like it didn't happen. Liliane was very protective of her body and broke the fingers of the last person to touch the girl against her wishes.

"I expect you to hold your word about not bothering me after I see your mage. In the meantime I expect you to keep at least three arms length away from me at all times. You are correct in assume I have a deep hatred for you and your kind. So i hope you don't give me a reason to release any of it." Liliane wasn't the type of person to issue out so many threats before. She wondered if it was her anger getting the best of her. The girl didn't know if threats were exactly the best approach but she hoped Ruzik at least now knew what it was like for Lili when she had tried to apologize to him that morning. The two made their way towards the cafeteria with Liliane remaining several paces behind the demon.

"Please, don't leave me alone..."

Midora opened his eyes and found himself in the middle of a world of whiteness. He looks around, only to find that no one, or nothing can be found there, but himself. A complete void of nothingness. It reminds him of the isolation, the coldness, the discrimination that he once has to endured. But at that moment, something tells him to keep moving forward. Without a second thought, Midora began to run and run into the endless boundary that even him couldn't tell where would he stopped. He keeps running, but to no avail, the only thing that he could found is the silent, yet cruel whiteness around him without a soul to be found. Is it truly what has been fated for him to be? Lonely, being treated like a monster for his whole life? Keep moving forwards without any real purposes for him to live in this world? Such questions keep spinning around his head like a lullaby. He wanted it to stop, but it could only haunted him as he ran, ran until his feet couldn't get more fatigue.

"...the only person whom I love with all my heart, since long ago, up til the present and for the rest of eternity..."

As Midora runs, he finally saw a silhouette of a man at the end of his road. The familiar silhouette that has never once escaped his mind. The strong, independent, yet caring and gentle person whom he once devoted all of his soul, all of his mind, all of his sincerest love for. And slowly, Midora can saw that person's back in the distance. As he's getting closer to the young man minutes by minutes, the familiar figure quietly turned his back to face Midora with a gentle smile on his face. Midora couldn't be happier. As he continued on his run, he can clearly felt tears streaming down on his face as his lips formed into a bright smile. The once innocent smile that has been tainted by the dust of this twisted world. The smile that none shall ever see again.

"...the person whom I've killed by these very hands..."

When Midora has almost reached the young man, the latter raised his arm towards him, in which Midora also raised his arm to the man he loved the most. But just as their hands meet, the world shattered into pieces around them, turned into an area within a town. The buildings in the area had been destroyed, not a single living beings were found, the atmosphere was stained with the smell of thick smog and burning as ashes covered the ground. The once lively part of a town now has been turned into nothing more than a lifeless ruin. Midora once again looked around him in shock. Everything was so vivid, as if he was living in his own flashback and sees everything by his own eyes. But when he turned his face back to the man, he was even more shocked and glanced in horror as he was stabbing the young man with a Dark Matter formed blade. His hands were stained with blood, his eyes were crimson red. The gaze in the man's eyes were no longer gentle or caring, it is now only a lifeless void. Everything is a chaos.

"...until the day we reunite again, I will carry on your burden. I offered myself as a sacrificing lamb to the dark, so that it will never got a chance to destroy this world..."
.
While Midora hasn't get over his shock yet, the man suddenly withered into ashes and flew away with the wind. And what Midora can see after that is another man who looked exactly the same like the person whom he loved. But his eyes were also crimson red like him with the symbol of an infinity on his irises. On his lips, Midora can find a cruel, sadistic smirk. The person standing in front of him isn't his beloved Sensei. It was someone else who is much more dangerous with powers that far surpassed what Midora could ever fathom. He disguises himself as the one whom he loved the most. Before even knowing it, that person summoned thousands of chain that sprung out from the dark and firmly gripped Midora in a crucifix style. Trying to struggle as he would, Midora couldn't even move an inch. But Midora was surprised on how he managed to stay calm even in a situation like this with a determine gleam in his eyes as that person walked towards him, still with the sadistic smirk. He could only shut his eyes and weakly resisted as the person in front of him gripped his chin as he moved his face closer to Midora's. It was then that their lips were sealed together...

"...until the day when this body return to ashes, I will keep on fighting this ever-lasting battle."

Midora sat up on his bed as he widened his eyes with a shocking expression on his face as he gasped. He looked around and let out a quiet sigh of relief when he found out that he is still in his room. It was just a dream... Holding his own hand in front of his face, a mild purple light radiated from it for a short moment. This indicates that his strength has totally recovered. When he turned to the drawer next to his bedpost, he saw the white picture frame. Inside was a picture of a young, brown-haired man who was smiling so brightly as if he was smiling with Midora even when he wasn't here. Reached out his hand to took it, Midora smiled lightly as his fingers gently caressing the face of the person in the picture. For a short moment, memories of a happiness time that he once has returned to him. He felt as if the warm that he always been longing for has came back, embracing him. For a short moment, he can truly felt that he can stood up alone all odds.

But, those moments were short-lived. Midora widened his eyes a bit as he saw some drops of water began to fall on the glass surface of the picture frame. His cheeks felt wet as endless streams of tears began to fall from his eyes. After all, Dark Mages had to suppress all of their negative emotions and remain calm all the time if they don't want to go berserk, but because of that, those emotions keep piling up inside them. With just a small trigger, they'd lost control and began to show emotions that they always trying to hide from the others. In Midora's case, it is the feeling of guilt, sorrow, sadness and loneliness that has been haunted him over the past 10 years. He tries his best to stop the tears from falling, but to no avail. He hates moments like this. He hates it when the painful memories that he's tried so much to forget keep following him.

Being abandoned by his own parents. Being humiliated by the village that he used to care for. Being backstabbed by so many people whom he once believed. Having to do so many terrible things to survive. Being discriminated, isolated and tortured. Never can find sympathy. Never being loved by anyone. These are the very proofs of what a Dark Mage like him has to gone through. Sometimes, Midora questioned the purpose of his own existence in this life. He has to suffered and endured so much pain to feel anything else now. His heart has hardened and shall never be able to find the light again. Only one person has loved him, treasured him and helped him felt the beauty of this world and he has also loved him back with all of his body and mind. But, that person came, lighten up his life only to be killed by Midora's two hands for the sake of the world that has treated him with nothing but pain. It took him a long while to be able to get back on a right track, but those feelings keep traumatizing him until now. He couldn't trust anyone again, except for the person who has traveled with him his whole life, Mikari.

Midora calms himself and swept away his tears as his expression returned to its usual blank state. I need a shower... Gently put the frame back to where it was, he stood up and went into the bathroom.

Dark has already fallen and the time for the mission is fast approaching them. Midora was in the garden, sitting on his usual rock and meditates, quietly waiting for the announcement from his boss. The night breeze slowly blew as the whole campus now has turned so quiet as the students have all returned to their dorm. This is the reason why he enjoys immersing himself in the dark so much. He don't have to care about anything anymore and he can just silently retreated into his own world.

Moments later, the Headmaster's voice boomed through the school's interior, reminding the students that were tasked to arrive at the entrance. It's time. Midora thought as he opened his eyes and stood up then made his way to the entrance. Upon arriving there, he saw that Memphis, Cleo and Laurence had arrived, thus making him the fourth one to turn up. Giving his boss a brisk nod as a greeting, he stood next to him quietly and waited until the rest of them have arrived. He was thinking about the tactics that they're going to use against the ultra-class monster and how will both him and Memphis co-operate with Isolde, the Sage of Water. As a matter of fact, he knows the members of the second generation of the Sages well because he himself was also a Sage, anyway and they're all friends before parting into different directions. I wonder if she's still doing fine. He thought then gazing up to the sky, observing the shining stars.

In the meanwhile, Mikari was lying on his bed with his head rested against his hand. He was watching his favorite TV shows while eating away a packet of crisp, lazily. He yawned. A group of second year students went out to have a barbecue and they invited him to come along, which he almost accepted if it wasn't for the Headmaster to has given him the task of watching after the Academy while he and his oh-so-adorable Dora-chin was away on a mission. And Mikari could have almost assured that the Demon are doubting his and Ms. Sarah's abilities. Although he respected him, this is of course a nuisance for someone who is so proud of his title. He has set up his shadows around the school and not a single fly would be able to escape his vision so why so worry? I'll show him what I can do.

Turning off the TV, he sat up and stretched his arms then took his phone and looked at the time. It's not very late so he figures that he should go and do some patrolling although his shadows are doing a fine job already. Come to think of it, he hasn't check on how Ruzik was doing yet so he can go and bother his favorite Incubus instead. Some of the remaining students are still up anyway so Mikari can go on a check how they were doing. He has to see what his new Mage is like too.

Making his way out of the room, he headed for the cafeteria. On his way, he saw that Ruzik and Liliane were walking together, much to his surprise. But it seemed that they aren't going to kill each other off now so Mikari can rest a bit. "Hey, kiddos." He spoke up to gain their attention as he approached them with his hands casually entwined behind his nape. He's trying to shortened the distance between the students and teachers, as always. Why with all the boundaries, anyway? "Mind if I walk with you two?"

Laurence welcomed the closeness of the feline and the warmth that she brought with her. Smiling, he gave a nod to her earlier remark. ”Yeah, I guess you could say it’s a big part… and yeah I am excited though also nervous, I suppose.” Giving a sheepish laugh, he noticed then that Midora had arrived and joined the small group. Now there were four of them, and only four left to arrive. Looking back to Cleo the boy asked, ”Are you nervous about tonight? You don’t seem it, but I was just wondering if I was the only one, or not.” Sighing quietly he moved his gaze away from the cat-girl for a moment or so, taking a breath to calm himself a little. So far he’d kept his nervous under control somewhat and he couldn’t afford to really express his inner anxiety so much.

Momoko gladly followed Kou as the demon lead her through the hallways and towards the cafeteria. She was thankful that she had Kou with her, or else the mage might have gotten lost! With a smile she simply said, "Thank-you." Following her demon the girl walked over and picked up a tray, before joining the line and casting her gaze over the array of food on offer for the girl to choose from. Really she would have eaten anything though decided to not be greedy, eventually opting for a salad and sandwiches, as well as a milkshake and a few little chocolate treats.

Not long after settling on her meal Kou asked the girl as to why she didn't eat a lot of meat and the reasons behind it. "Oh, there's no special reason." She spoke before leading the pair over to a close by table and set herself down in one of the seats. Once Kou had also seated herself the girl continued, "During my early childhood my family was a bit poor and couldn't afford a lot of meat, so we just ate what we could grow in our garden instead for a while. Mostly vegetables and fruit really and I guess... I just got use to it even as we got a bit richer over the years."

Unwrapping her sandwiches she picked one up and took a bite out of it. It was a plain cheese sandwich though Momoko seemed to really enjoy it regardless. A moment or so afterward she then added, ”I try to keep up a healthy lifestyle so I suppose fruit and vegetables is a better alternative. Why do you ask? Is meat important to you?” Continuing to nibble on her sandwich the girl kept her eyes on the demon, slightly curious of her answer. Maybe Kou did not like meat, or maybe she did. Momoko wasn't sure.

Though, the mage had a question of her own that she felt the urge to ask at that moment. ”I‘ve been meaning to ask but… your ears are that of a rabbits, right? Does that mean you were once a rabbit, or have you always been like you are now? Sorry if that sounds rude but I’ve never seen anyone like you before.” Dropping her head to the side slightly Momoko gazed upward towards the girls ears, somewhat fascinated by them and their fluffy appearance. ”And is there any do’s and don’ts? Like, anything I shouldn’t do towards you? Such as touch your ears or tail, or things like that? I know if I had ears like that I'd probably not like everyone touching them, so I figured I should ask.”

Memphis

Memphis noticed the two students who had arrived not long after he had, Cleo and Laurence, who seemed to be conversing with one another contently so he felt no need to interfere with them. Leaving them be for now his attention was placed onto Midora who arrived at that point, giving the demon a nod to which Memphis replied back with, and took his place next to the Headmaster. Saying nothing at first the redhead stood in silence and kept his eyes to the ground, his mind empty for once as he was at a lose as to what to do in the meantime. Waiting was never his strong point, as were many things, and it showed when he began to fidget and seemed restless.

Looking to the mage next to him, Memphis followed the man’s gaze and glanced up to the sky towards the stars. "So that water mage is definitely coming tonight?" The demon asked with evident displeasure weaved into his words. Despite not knowing the woman Memphis didn’t have a good track record when it came to cooperation, at least when it involved anyone other than his master. The fact that her element was water just made everything worse, in his opinion. "Don’t see why they insist on it, I could handle this whole thing on my own if it came to it. I don’t ever fail."

Refocusing his thoughts he dropped his stare from the starry sky and returned it to ground level, boredom filling his features as he didn’t see what was so fascinating about the stars. "I feel the need to emphasize my point in avoiding water. I hope this water mage is sensible and not some joker who’s just coming along for the ride, as I lack a sense of humour, Mr. Kurayami." Turning a little to face the man, the demon raised a hand and placed a finger against Midora’s chest. "So much as one drop of water goes near me and you’ll see what sort of monster your teacher has been keeping away." A moment later and once realizing what he had said, or how he had said it, he dropped his hand and crossed his arms before looking to the ground yet again. "I’m not threatening you personally, it’s not your fault… I just don’t like water and don't like knowing that soon I'm going to be facing someone who controls it. Understand."

Memphis was always never good at expressing himself in a positive manner, though it wasn’t entirely his own fault. Due to being kept hidden from much of the world for most of his life the demon never really had much contact with others besides the old man. In truth, only when coming to this academy has he really began to socialize with others, albeit not in a perfect manner. Perhaps he'd learn.

Cleo Gardenia

Cleo could sense the boy’s uneasiness and actually found it quite cute, as well as it being a natural reaction to anyone who would have been going on their first mission. She herself was nervous slightly, though knowing Cleo her excitement outweighed any other emotion she felt at that moment. ”Yeah, course I am! Who wouldn’t be? It’s normal to feel that way and you shouldn’t feel bad about it, nor feel a need to hide it. It’s good to show your true feelings.” With her arm around him she gave the boy a slight hug and squeezed him a little, reassuring the young mage as best she could. ”Don’t worry I’ll have your back as well as everyone else, we’ll all look out for each other and make sure nobody gets hurt. Sound like a plan?”

Her brow arched slightly in curiosity over the girl's uncomfortable reaction to her question and desire to learn more of the demon. Regardless of this discomfort however Muse gave her best answer. She mused over the peculiar tale of her amnesia and her unknown past, it only fueled her curiosity and interest in the demon, what secrets might lie locked away in her memories. Would they ever see the light of consciousness again? Or would they remain in unknown darkness to be forever forgotten.

She was broken free from her little reverie as Muse addressed her with another question. Dúyè gave a nod as she leaned back in er seat and stretched her arms into the air. "Mm, that I do." Before she could speak further that annoying smoke stack of a headmaster gave his announcement throughout the school, apparently it was time to move out. She heaved a heavy sigh, annoyed at the idea of having to move now, just as she had finally begun to relax. Her discontent however was short-lived as she caught a glance of the girl stretching, a smirk playing across her lips upon seeing the demon pull her shirt back down quickly afterward.

Before she would accept the girl's hand up she reached to her tea which had cooled significantly by now and chugged the last of it down in a quick gulp. She holds the woman's hand for a bit longer after she's up on her feet and smiles, gazing across the short distance between them and into her eyes. "Yes I suppose we should, I don't want to have to deal with him if we end up being late." With that she turns swiftly and slips her hands into her coat pockets as she strides towards the exit of the cafeteria, glancing over her shoulder to make sure Muse was following.

It wasn't to be a very long walk to the Academy's entrance, so Dúyè kept the conversation short, seeking to more properly answer her question. "As I was saying, I do paint. Though, I don't have the supplies to do so here. Am hoping we have a chance to go out to town at some point so I can buy them. I think the first thing I paint will be you though, you've quite stirred me so far." A light smirk touches her lips as the others on the mission come in to view, four were already there so it seemed they weren't the last to arrive. She wasn't sure if Muse would still follow her at this point, but regardless she approached Laurence, eyeing the cat that seemed to be draper over him with no small amount of annoyance. "I see we have yet another demon who can't resist touching you little mage, you sure you don't have some kind of attraction magic on you? Perhaps we should invest in some bug spray to keep these pests away." She rolls her neck as she shifts her gaze to Cleo, "At least this one is cute."
