~Elaine makes lots of skin contact when she gets to know a person.
~Ears pop out when mad, sad, happy, embarrassed

Image

History:
Elaine was born into a line of stray cats, seemingly normal, until one day she transformed into a human for no apparent or obvious reason. A human with a cat tail and ears, but nevertheless a human girl. Her birth parents abandoned her on the streets. For a few days she wandered, sometimes as a naked child, other times as a thin, white blonde cat. Eventually on a rainy day, a boy found her on the streets in her kitten form. He took her to a home, which Elaine hazily remembers smelled wonderful. He gave her shelter for a few weeks until Elaine was startled by a dog barking dog from the neighborā€™s yard. She ran away and was stuck as a stray for years until she found a city (Akron) where she was sometimes able to get scraps and leftovers from a tavern which she grew attached to. She still thinks of the boy who saved her life and longs to see him. As she became healthier she began to live in the form of a human instead of a cat. She cannot transform at will into her cat form but when sheā€™s weak she morphs into a feline. She will also change when her defense mechanism triggers which does so when she is in immediate and/or perilous danger.

Image
Personality:
Elaine is a shy cautious type of person, but once she takes a liking to you, she will usually stick. She hates to be confronted but sometimes she does look for attention.

So begins...

What the actual fuck? He had been controlling Rose with ease one second and the next he had been expelled out of her mind forcefully. It wasnā€™t possible. He was a royal Fey, a member of the Fey court, a powerful enemy no one wanted to have. So why had his mental attack faltered? He studied the girl with a powerful intensity as the pieces came together. His suspicion and secret fear had been proven correct with the girlā€™s refusal to be controlled. She possessed the locket that he had been exiled for losing. God, this canā€™t be happening. The girl didnā€™t even realize what power over him she had. She could make a minion out of him, make him a dog. Even worse the vampire could possibly become a Fey herself replacing Ashton in the Royal court. He had to get it off of her. If he retrieved the necklace from her ignorant clutches he might- no, would be accepted back into the Otherworld. He wouldnā€™t have to live amongst the polluted Earth that was soiled by billions of insignificant creatures.

But would he be able to get the necklace off of Rose? If it had not yet marked her it would be childā€™s play. He could just snap her neck and heā€™d have his treasure. Obviously things were more complicated. How long had she had the amulet for? A year or two? Or was it longer, perhaps a decade? If the locket had indeed chosen her then theoretically he was a slave and she was the master. He would be unable to harm her. He was sworn to protect her, like some cheesy supernatural role-play. ((*cough cough* Breaking the fourth wall))

Before he could come to a decision about what actions to take about this newfound problem Valentine walked over. He nodded at her as he had done for Levi saying nothing else. She directed Jennova to an awaiting customer before leaning over the counter to whisper to the group, ā€œThere's something strange about him. I think he's a hunter. What hunter goes for a succubus first?ā€ She asked the rhetorical question in a curious tone. Ashton had to admit it was rather odd for one of The Oneā€™s, an organization against the supernatural, to be targeting a succubus a pretty powerful foe. Especially out in the open as opposed to their usual discreet approach.

An uneasy feeling was beginning to settle in the male Feyā€™s stomach, a rare emotion for him. After the amulet incident the seed of anxiousness had been planted. Adding this on top of that caused the seed to germinate and become a sprout. He glanced Jennovaā€™s way and, although he didnā€™t turn towards her, heightened his sense of hearing so he was able to hear the conversation.

ā€œā€¦hiding something precious to you from the rest of the world.ā€

ā€œWhat do you mean?ā€ Jennova sounded convincingly questioning but Ashton couldnā€™t help but detect the slightest of a tremble in her voice as if she knew where this was going.

ā€œWell,ā€ he to gesture towards the door that was currently being opened. ā€œHer.ā€

ā€œOnly a hunter who knows Jennova's only weaknessā€¦ā€ Valentine answered her own question from before in a shocked gasp. Suddenly the ringing whine of crystal pierced the air in a shrieking wail. Obviously Levi had been listening with supernatural ears as well as he instinctively covered his ears. Ashton flinched but braced himself till the sound waves ceased to ripple through the air.
His eyes turned towards the entrance of the bar in order to discover what had shocked Jennova so. What, or rather who, was her precious treasure that Ashton had never been aware of before now. The jewel turned out to be a blue haired girl who looked similar in appearance to Jennova. The presence around her along with all the glares she was getting informed Ashton that this girl was a hybrid. As he processed this his lips curled downward into a disgusted frown. This was a programmed reaction as half breeds were shunned and hated. It was a taboo subject and Fey especially thought them pests that needed disposing.

ā€œHello Jenn.ā€ The girl said in a nearly inaudible voice. What was this girl to Jennova? Everyoneā€™s eyes were on the pair of girls.
Levi, however, had apparently recovered from the initial shock from the newcomer and had deemed the situation intriguing but not threatening as of yet, therefor not worthy of his attention. Hesitantly Ashton turned his head towards Levi as the Leviathan began to address him.

"Ashton, you wouldn't mind sending a message to the Fey courts for me, would you?" Ashton tensed as Levi spoke. It was little known that Ashton had been banished and for those that were aware knew it was an off limits topic. It was simply not done. But it seemed as if the previous sea king was attempting to push Ashtonā€™s buttons.

ā€œThe message is regarding amulets, but I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. If you don't have time however, it's fine.ā€ Did he find Ashton a fool? Was he intentionally provoking Ashton, challenging him to put the ā€œkingā€ in his rightful place? The topic was a very touchy subject and caused Ashton to become enraged. When it was brought up, with it came the shame and embarrassment that he had tried to forget. Losing such an important item to a vampire and then recently discovering that it had ended up in yet another vile mosquitoā€™s grimy hands.

Ashton did not let his anger show, but instead smiled coldly at Levi before speaking, ā€œOf course, Levi. Iā€™ll gladly pass on any information or requests you might have about the, ah, amulets. But perhaps it would do you good to not to speak so freely about them again in public.ā€ He said this through slightly clenched teeth. It was partially a lie as he wouldnā€™t dare to contact the Fey court. He had the ability to, of course, but figured it was best to stay low for several centuries. He wasnā€™t going to openly admit this to Levi, though. The last half had been a warning to Levi to not bring the matter up again. Ashton did not need this man as an enemy but this was true for the Leviathan as well.
Ashtonā€™s adrenaline and stress level had once again risen since had had killed off the two previous vampires that had been giving Valentine trouble. Thatā€™s when he decided. Looking at the girl before him he decided that he would play the part of the spider for this pestering mosquito. Heā€™d make a quick dinner of her. Even though she had thorns to protect her Ashton would break through her defenses no matter what. After all, a rose was a tender flower that could be easily crushed. And all flowers wilted eventually. ((>:3 *cue evil music))

The Neko had been wandering around the city for a while now, looking for food. She knew her way around every alleyway and street, every boulevard and route. But she had only one favorite place in the whole city. The tavern that she had discovered upon first arriving. She was headed there now in her human form, ears and tail hidden from sight. She had been walking at a leisurely pace enjoying the cool evening breeze against her face. That is, until it started raining. She was now sprinting, her arms up above her head providing little shelter from the pelting droplets of water. It was odd site to see, such a cute and petite girl decked in frilly and bright neon color darting through the rain. A normal person would have ducked into a nearby store or opened the umbrella that they had conveniently been carrying.

But Elaine was far from normal. She was without an umbrella and she was too shy and scared to be crammed together with a crowd of people in a small convenience store. What if her slightly fox looking feline features appeared. They often did at the worst moments. It wasnā€™t like she could exactly control them.

The girl took a shortcut through one of the many alleyways of the city, jumping a few fences in the process. It was hard work having to run through the downpour, one of her major weaknesses, but when she arrived at the other side of town where the diner and bar was located the rain had stopped. She wasnā€™t thoroughly soaked but the once pleasurable breeze now made her shiver.

She breathed in as she slowly approached the building detecting savory and delicious scents that made her stomach rumble. She fingered the little cash she had pickpocketed off of a man from the Main street. Elaine hoped they would accept it. This was her first time at the place in her human form. She hadnā€™t been here since she was a scrawny white cat.

A blue haired woman was entering through the front entrance while a man was exiting from the side entrance. Elaine hesitated before going through the door the man had come from. There was no point attracting attention by going through the front. Besides, from the sounds of it, there was a commotion going on inside already.

She ducked in lowering her head and attempting to stay as indiscrete as possible. She sat beside a brown haired man (Takeru) silently and waited for a waitress to take her order unaware of the current situation that had recently occurred.

Takeru Daijuuji

ā€œCan I get you another drink? Possibly something different?ā€

The sound of Jennova's voice snapped Takeru back to life in the bar, rather than musing on the subject of human/monster coexistence. He glanced down at his empty glass and then back up to Jennova, who decided to take a seat next to him. "Get me the same. That sounds like it'll hit the spot." he answered, thinking about the fresh booze grazing his lips. It seeimed that Jennova was paying attention to her other customer who, apparently, had specifically requested her. For some reason or another, Takeru really did not want to think about what would make him do that. He instead tried to wait patiently for either his food or beverage to make its way to his table.

Tried, of course, was the keyword in this whole ordeal.

Something quite strange was happening in the bar. The people from the other table, including that one beauty who had locked eyes with him briefly, seemed to be worried about some deal or another. In any case, the appearance of a kawaii nice young woman with a head of blue hair had set things into motion, and though there was no fighting or explosions, Takeru could feel the tensity of the room rise high up, as if the very establishment had caught fire. Of course, he was also fairly oblivious as to why that was happening in the first place. If he had to guess, it was probably because of the new girl. But as to what she had done or who she was, well, Takeru had no way of knowing. He was new here, after all, so his guess would probably be far enough off to strike a young kid in the face, metaphorically speaking. With no way to productively join in in this whole scenario, the young human/vampire hybrid could only watch from his seat and hope things did not escalate to violence. As much as it did pain him to admit it, he was probably one of the weakest (if not weakest) people in this place. For now.

Yet again, his attempt at simply sitting back and enjoying peace was interrupted by yet another newcomer.

It was an even younger-looking woman whose head was filled with locks of hair that unfortunately reminded him of Ashton's, in color. Adorning her head alongside her hair was a set of furry cat ears that almost made Takeru want to scratch them. Because in this universe, my OC is a cat person for once. Pffft, what a nerd. They, obviously, had to come with the full package: an even furrier tail on her hindquarters (Don't judge him, he's a guy). Takeru's natural reaction to this appearance was that of a cat-lover.

Kawaii~~~

But as soon as he snapped out of his state of admiration, the young man realized what had happened. Namely, she had decided it was 'fun' and 'cool' to take a seat right next to Takeru, on the other side of the succubus, Jennova, who was still currently engaged in conversation with the other customer, and likely going to be a big contributor to the drama that Takeru was sure to come. Even more strange than that was the lack of any speech from her. She had sat down at an already-occupied table without so much as a single word or reason as to why she had done so. Some people would easily take this as very rude. But Takeru was not 'some people' and did not really get so butt-hurt at an action. However, it did catch his attention and it did interest him. She had to have been quite the odd person.

Or maybe it was him. Yeah, that was always possible, wasn't it?

He thought about that for a moment. He was thinking about normal, human etiquette here, not monster-quette. Maybe it was normal for this to happen. Like possibly you just walk up to a random species and brofist it while talking about the human you just ate, enjoying the company of your fellow monster with a glass of freshly-squeezed human blood. That thought actually made him shiver a bit on the inside. Not just because he imagined someone being squeeze for their blood, but because he couldn't believe he really just thought up that big load of bullshit. Jeez, maybe he shouldn't have another beer? In any case, he needed to see what the deal was with this strange, but cute woman he was given the pleasure of sharing a table with. Especially because Jennova was right there, and when she snapped out of it, he did not want anything to come up involving this.

"...Hello." Takeru gave her an awkward glance to go along with the equally awkward tone he just used. "..." How were you supposed to conduct conversation in this scenario? Tell a joke? Reminisce about something weird you did in your junior year? Takeru was honestly at a loss for words that really made sense to him, so he did the next best thing.

"Nice... ears?" he complimented. Actually, you know... they kinda seemed familiar....

Valentine

Image

Valentine could not believe her eyes, there was no way this could truly being happening. Life was going so well, and something like this had to happen. She knew she shouldn't talk about the girl that had just walked in but these people were at least friendly with Jennova in some way, they had to know who this girl was. A few seconds after Levi asked what was special about the woman that just walked in, Valentine answered him. "That is Jennova's little sister. Jennora. She is half fey/half succubus. Jennova has spent her entire life hiding the girl from hunters of all types. That is the sweetest girl I know, but she too believes she is a worthless monster because she is treated like one."

With that Valentine left them to go take a order of a Neko that had just walked in. She was probably the second or third person to not stare at Jennova and Jennora. She didn't smile to the Neko, like she did with everyone. "What can I get you?" She instead asked calmly. Not wanting to scare of this neko, the girl was half cat which meant in some way that Valentine had to be extra careful.

Jennova

Image

"Hello, Jenn." She spoke, her voice soft and quiet yet made the woman feel relaxed. Yet feeling relaxed meant nothing good for her. It meant that over the years her little sisters powers had never toned down, not even a bit. Jennova forgot about the broken glass and wine at her feet as she stared at her little sister.

"What are you doing here?" Jennova asked Jennora, in a calm yet uneasy tone of voice.

Jennora gave her a small smile before she answered. "I've been hunted here, there's no place to go. I'm sorry."

That answer almost killed Jennova right there, people were hunting her and her own sister felt that where her sister lived was not a good place to go. How could she let her own sister think that way.. She sighed before answering. "Don't be sorry. It's my fault. For not finding you a better place to stay. Come on we'll go home now." She told her sister as Jennova took off her apron and made her way across to the other bar.

Jennova avoid everyone's eyes as she took her little sisters hand and started to leave, only to be stopped by Valentine. The bar owner hugged Jennora in front of everyone. "Welcome home." She told Jennora before letting the two walk away.

Jennora

Jennora turned to the man she had sat by. "Sorry, I just wanted to talk to my sister. I'll be gone before you know it." She told him with an uneasy smile. "Your brave to come in here.. Half vampire and half human. You have it easy. Where as I'm half succubus and half fey." She told Takeru, going off subject before she started to talk to her sister, who seemed to not hear what she had just told the guy she was sitting by.

And before she knew it, just like she had played it out in her head, she was being taken home. The only truly safe place. She yawned when the two got outside before rushing home, where she knew that Valentine would meet her later.

Rosetta had no idea what in the world was going on. The pieces had finally been connecting; it had all started to make sense only to be shattered by utter confusion. It was all happening too fast for her to process. First of all Ashton had reacted strongly to her locket which she had suddenly felt very possessive over. Then she had somehow been able to defy his supposed all ruling powers. And now there was a blue haired woman in the room who everyone seemed to be staring- err, glaring at.

She averted her eyes from the woman and shut out the rest of the room. She could see through the window that the light was already beginning to fade. How had it become evening already? How had any of this happened?

She thought about the empty apartment she had abandoned earlier in her attempt to flee from the strange things that humans were afraid of. Because that was really what this was about. Mortals didnā€™t know about these other creatures simply because they didnā€™t want to. Sure it helped that most of the monsters looked relatively human and had safe zones to take refuge in which humans conveniently didnā€™t see. But that was the point. They chose to ignore these places because their intuition told them to.
These feeble creatures were scared of different and strange paranormal activity and so either turned a blind eye to the real problem or abused the people who couldnā€™t help but be who they were. This in itself had shown throughout history. Racial differences, religious beliefs, sexual preferences; it was all the same. Imagine if an entirely new species entered their lives. A species that had equal intelligence to the mortals. There would be chaos and the root of the pandemonium would be fear.

Iā€™m not any different. It was true. She was as terrified of these new specimens that she had accidentally stumbled across. She cowered at her own unearthly beauty. She blanched at her cannibalistic thirst for a substance that was never meant to be consumed. Rose had begun to hate this part of her. She refused to accept it but it kept haunting her. She was sure that everywhere she went sheā€™d be able to find some sort of supernatural being. Her fist clenched until she was sure that her inhuman strength would break her bones.

Leviā€™s voice brought her back to reality. He was asking Ashton to pass on some sort message to the ā€œFey court.ā€ Rose, of course, did not understand their conversation or the thinly veiled meaning that was hidden in it. But the amulet part piqued her attention. Obviously her necklace was some sort of valuable that Ashton wanted. Or perhaps said Fey court were the ones who were after it. Either way whoever was wearing it was in danger. Rose didnā€™t need another dose of that drug. After all too much could be deadly.

She once again reached for the clasp, this time having full oversight over her actions. When she grabbed it she began to unfasten the necklace with a full intention of handing it over to the Fey. Her parents were dead and what did she care about this ancient family heirloom? She felt a bit lonely when thinking about its absence but a piece of jewelry was surely not worth the price of Roseā€™s life.

But as the girl touched the clasp it grew hot. She tried to pull her fingers away but some invisible force was keeping them there. It hurt so badly in fact that Rose had the urge to scream. She didnā€™t, however, instead letting out a small squeak of pain.

She stood in a room of nothingness. It was pitch black; a void of nothing. But wait, there was something. There was her holding a small backpack filled with textbooks. But besides that there was a chandelier hanging where a roof would be if the girl had been in a house. It reflected an unknown glare, eerily throwing bright lights around the darkness.

Suddenly the world seemed to spin and she was in a mansion entry way in front of a set of stairs. Looking up, she made sure the chandelier with the pretty lights was still there before reaching out towards the light that blocked the stairway. It hurt badly so the girl did the natural thing and pulled back into the shadows. She examined her hand to find that the light had left her right handā€™s fingertips scorched and red.

Only when she had retreated did she realize she had dropped her backpack. It was shriveling up and turning black seeming to fuel the light even further. The cream wallpaper was also curling at the edges and withering into nothing at the same time as the mahogany floor boards disappeared. Thatā€™s when Effie appeared out of nowhere screaming, ā€œThat is mahogany!ā€
A creak rang through the air and just as the tiny girl looked up the sparkling crystal chandelier fell from the ceiling. It seemed to take forever to fall. It was so beautiful but the rattling crystal caused the lights to go crazy. When it finally hit the ground a whine hit the six year oldā€™s ears. She clamped her hands over them but the shriek continued in her mind ricocheting off the walls of her head.

A sharp pain in her arm finally stopped the sound and she looked down at her injury. A thick liquid oozed out and her small hand grasped the shard of crystal pulling out with a forceful tug. It now sat in the palm of her hand tainted by blood reflecting a face that was very familiar to her. But that was not all it showed. In the background it showed darkness like the one she had been standing in before. And standing out against the darkness where the lights were reflected were bright orange flames which licked the walls and engulfed her surroundings.

In shock the young human dropped the shard and it shattered into a million more small pieces. Now wherever she looked she could finally see the warm fire. It no longer seemed mysterious or threatening to her but instead warm and friendly. An innocent smile played across her lips and she opened her arms to embrace the beauty of the roaring inferno.

Rose gasped and found herself face to face with picturesque features framed with a shock of blonde hair. She almost shouted before she remembered that this was Ashton. He was now sitting beside her watching her expression.

ā€œFinally snapped out of it, have you?ā€ He smirked at her breathlessness. ā€œIf you havenā€™t noticed already your boyfriend left you a message.ā€ He gestured to a slip of paper in front of Rose. It had a series of numbers on it. A code. Rose thought in a bewildered fashion before realizing it was probably a simple phone number.

Why had she remembered that? It was a twisted memory obviously having been altered by her childlike mindset but still frighteningly accurate and real. She touched the clasp again, this time with caution. It was now a lump of medal and as cold as the rest of the necklace. The two ends had melted together. Even with her new inhuman strength she could not break the chain.
She gave up realizing there was no getting the locket off and took to examining her right hand. The tips of her hands were red and tingling while further up her arm was a small but fresh scar. Impossible. Those injuries had faded long ago. So why did they again leave marks on her body?

A chair being pulled out made her look up. Ashton was scooting the chair had had been sitting on back in place as he prepared to take his leave. He turned towards the door and Rose realized if he was gone she would be alone. In desperation she grabbed his arm, stumbling out of her own chair in the process.

ā€œDonā€™t leave me.ā€ She said it on an impulse before realizing how, well, how strange that sounded. ā€œEr, no, that isā€¦ā€ She blushed a bright red, surprised that he was still there. In fact he seemed almost chained to the spot as if he was forced to stay.

Rose, trying to wave off the awkward movement and also deciding it was best to surround herself with people, scanned the room. Her eyes stopped on the human from before. (Takeru) He at least should be halfway decent. Rose grabbed the Feyā€™s wrist taking advantaged at his temporary obedience and made her way over to the boy and his companion; a girl with the same shockingly blonde hair as Ashton. (Elaine)

ā€œHi.ā€ She said still a bit breathless from the shock as she plopped down in a seat.

ā€œā€¦Hello.ā€ The boys voice made Elaine jump in fright. Oh my gosh. The Neko hadnā€™t realized there was already and occupant at the table. She had just sat down mindlessly oblivious to the world around her. To make matters worse her ears and tails had appeared without her realizing it. ā€œNiceā€¦ ears?ā€

ā€œI- Iā€™m sorry. I didnā€™t realize you were- I j-justā€¦ā€ She was squeaking out nonsense her voice getting higher pitched with every word. He nails dug into the table leaving marks in the wood.

Luckily a waitress walked over to take her order. ā€œWhat can I get you?ā€

She took a moment to steady her voice before speaking, trying to remove the tremble of embarrassment from it. ā€œIf you have something like f-fish, thatā€™d be great.ā€ In Elaineā€™s mind she could always speak perfectly and flawlessly without trouble. She was outgoing and bright and kind. She always expressed her feelings outright. But in reality the only thing she dared to express was her love for bright colors. She always wore clothes that stood out to contrast her dull surroundings.

Once she had ordered she turned back towards the man she had accidentally sat by. ā€œSorry, I was zoned out. I didnā€™t realize anyone was sitting here. Iā€™ll move if it bothersā€¦ā€ She trailed off as she raised her eyes and truly looked at him. There was something oddly familiar about his chestnut hair and matching brown eyes. She tilted her head as she tried to recall him.

Leaning forward slightly she sniffed him. Immediately an alluring and pleasant yet faint aroma hit her nose. Her face lit up in excitement. She recognized this scent from long ago. It was comforting and made her recall the one time she had had a place to call home. ā€œStrawberries!ā€ She exclaimed. She forgot her shyness and embarrassment as an elated feeling settled over her. ā€œYou smell like strawberries.ā€

Her tail started flicking back and forth and a rumbling began in the back of her throat. It greatly resembled the soothing purr of a cat that was enjoying itself.
((OOC: Didnt think we had enough drama and suspense so... X3))

Takeru Daijuuji

With all of the things going on at once, to say Takeru was overwhelmed might have been an understatement. Maybe THE understatement of the year. He was hearing all sorts of voices, and whatever the commotion between the blue-haired woman was bringing up, it was bringing it up right next to Takeru's own table, so of course he was most likely going to get involved in this one way or another. It was just this... this feeling. It always happened, but until just recently, it only happened when he was getting involved in some highschool drama or something insignificant as that. This, however, seemed much too important to even compare.

"You're brave to come in here.. Half vampire and half human. You have it easy. Where as I'm half succubus and half fey." came the blue-head's voice. From the tidbits of conversation he was grasping, she was Jennova's sister? Well, that is what he thought he heard. Maybe it was something or someone else. Either way, that information was incorrect, wasn't it? He was just a human, nothing else!

"Half vampire? What?" he tried questioning the woman, but she found herself leaving before ever paying him a second second of attention. He was left in the air about the situation with nothing to be done about it. Even if he wanted to pursue, there was too many people blocking his way, and most were paying attention to her anyways. Ah well, it had to have been a mistake on her part. He'd know if he was part vampire, wouldn't he? Alas, dwelling on that subject was impossible, as some more commotion stirred up in the form of the catwoman, who had until recently been occupied ordering her food, which, of course, involved fish. In fact, that's all she ordered was 'something with fish' or the like. It helped that Takeru could hide a grin in this situation. But moving on, she returned to face him and spoke her apology.

ā€œSorry, I was zoned out. I didnā€™t realize anyone was sitting here. Iā€™ll move if it bothersā€¦ā€ he had heard her earlier attempt at trying to speak and thought this was much better. She shied up like crazy the first time she bothered with it. Guess she gathered her feline courage and pounced.... with her words. Or something.

"It's okay with me." Takeru replied. He felt she would have a harder time fitting in with the rest of the monsters due to what appeared to be a shy personality, and it did not really cause him any problems for her to sit here, just the abruptness of the action early had confused him is all. With that cleared up, he figured he would make some conversation when....

ā€œHi.ā€ came the breathless voice of the woman from before - the one he had seen earlier. Something about her seemed.... underwhelming compared to everyone else here. Much like the feeling he got from this catgirl. He couldn't sense any reason to really be frightened of them. Maybe he could at least feel when something was strong or weak? Perhaps. Either way, the air this woman held was nothing of a vicious monster who sought to eat him, more of a-----

And then he saw it. Yes, it. It, of course, took the form of a blonde-headed jerk who Takeru had already had the unfortunate curse to meet. Yes, it was Ashton, in tow behind the woman. Takeru narrowed his eyes. Surely this was a joke, right? What? Was he coming her to annoy Takeru? His presence had already done it, so his job was done. Truly, this was unavoidable. Takeru and Ashton were just meant to be rivals. Their ideals and their thoughts about others differed greatly, so much that seeing them as anything but enemies was a fool's dream. But even as strong as he seemed compared to Takeru, the young human felt as though even Ashton would not break the rules of the bar. So here, they'd just have to 'get along' in a sense.

"Oh, sorry!" he laughed nervously as he remembered he nearly forgot to answer the girl's existence, turning his gaze back to the woman and softening it greatly compared to the look it melted into whenever he saw that certain Fey. "I'm Takeru, and this is... my table. Or was. Guess not anymore." That much was true, considering he had this new woman sitting on one seat in the table, and the catgirl in the other. Jennova had finally left to go tend to her 'sister' or what have you, so it wasn't so crowded, but still.

He did not know anyone here. So just being surrounded was sort of strange.

*Sniff*

...what was that?

Takeru looked over and noticed the catgirl's nose very, VERY close to his person. And, of course, she was whiffing up a storm and taking in his scent. Wait, was she going to eat him?! He gave a wide-eyed look around to everyone at the table. No, no, no, no, no, no, no!!! They were all here to eat him, weren't they?! Valentine was just filling him with food so that some people could have a nice, big feast on a stuffed human, wasn't she?! He couldn't have that! What kind of cruelty was this?! He thought she was nice, but she really just wanted him to be eaten! Why else would he be here?!

ā€œStrawberries! You smell like strawberries.ā€ the neko exclaimed, evoking a raised eyebrow from him.

"What?" just the absurdity of the statement snapped him out of his mental panic. "Why would I--" And then he remembered it. He remembered having his daily snack of strawberries really early in the day, so if there was anyway he smelled like that, it was because of them. But she shouldn't be able to smell them, should she? He knew if anything, he'd smell like blood, sweat, and....Jennova. But strawberries? She must have a scary nose if that was the case. "Well, I did have some early in the morning....."

Pur~

Purr~~

Purrr~~~

And now she was purring. What was with him today? He was just getting caught up the most ridiculous events today, and now his table was full of people he did not know, plus an Ashton, plus catgirl here who had apparently really warmed up to him. He did not know whether to be weirded out or to be happy. He did, after all, enjoy cats. And he was a guy, as shy on that subject as he may be. If he was more confident in that regard, he'd have to say being near a catgirl was great. She certainly was cute.... wait. No, that's the purring. Every single time a cat purrs, his head gets all fuzzy and he can't help but pet them. But... she wouldn't stop. She was just purring in delight, and it was so cute and crazy and familiar and.......

Don't you dare do it, Takeru. Don't give in!

...

...

...

Stop!

...

...

No! Bad Takeru! Stop it!

...

*Pet*

He couldn't help it. She was being much too cute for him to handle, and cats were one of his weak points to begin with. He sighed in defeat, like he just lost a war he had been waging for years. There's nothing to be done about it, so she probably got exactly what she had been wanting. His hand grazed her head and scratched behind her ears. She had beaten him, and he was at her will.

Why me?

Valentine should have guessed what the neko girl would have wanted, she felt a little stupid for even having to ask. She held her notepad in her hand and a pen in the other as she looked at the girl once more. "Is there a type of fish you prefer more then others or would you like our supreme fish plate? And would you like it cooked or raw?" She asked with a warm smile that could make you light up with happiness.

She had to get the little scene out of her head as soon as she could. Though it would take a while for something more dramatic to happen, at least that's what she thought until she realized what exactly was going on between Ashton and Rose. She thought about helping him out, but she wasn't sure if she should. After pondering over the thought for a short while, Valentine finally decided that she would help him out.

"Excuse me Miss." Valentine tapped Rose's shoulder. "May I please steal Ashton from you?" She asked sweetly, her voice soft yet not shy like at all. She waited patentically for an answer from the newly vampire. She stood up a bit, out of the corner of her eye saw that Takeru was without a drink. "Takeru would you like another drink?"

Jennova

Things were starting to turn chaotic for Jennova as she walked her little sister, Jennora home. Things weren't always so great. Not even for a succubus like her self. Though she was looking forward to spending some time with her sister she wasn't so sure on how her sister felt about being in a town where almost anyone hated her because she was a half breed. She yawned on the way home, noticing that a certain creature she had not yet been in contact with was slowly making its way out of the shadows. "Look Jenni, there's your old pixie friend. Must be the third person in this town that doesn't hate you." She told her little sister who sort of smiled, not too big though.

"My apologies, perhaps we could meet later to discuss this in private?" As Levi enunciated his last word Ashton gave a cut nod in his direction. Levi slid a scrap of paper in Roseā€™s direction revealing that it was his number and gave directions to call if she was in need. Then he left, his motive being mostly unclear as he had vaguely said that there was a robbery he needed to take care of.

He laughed mockingly at the piece of paper Levi had left. How pathetic was this girl to be in need of a phone number in which she could call for help. The weaklings, in Ashtonā€™s eyes, did not need to survive but instead be obliterated from the face of Earth.

He was about to make some sort of taunting parting remark to Rose but as he viewed her face it seemed as if she were in another world. How long had she been like this? It didnā€™t particularly matter but the terror upon her face unsettled him. She was touching the locket which must have meant some sort of exchange between the artifact and her mind was going on. Speaking of which her pose was rather odd as well. Her hand was paused right on the clasp of the locket which was in fact no longer a clasp. It had somehow melted together making it impossible to open.

Well crap. If this meant the locket had just marked her it also signified the fact that he could have retrieved the locket from her grasp only a few minutes before. He frowned as she began to whimper slightly from whatever was happening in her head.
By the time she had gotten her head out of the clouds Ashton had regained his cool and smirked as she gasped for breath. God she was so melodramatic. It wasnā€™t as if she had run a 5 mile marathon. But still she sucked in air that she didnā€™t need like it was food-err like it was blood.

ā€œFinally snapped out of it, have you? If you havenā€™t noticed already your boyfriend left you a message.ā€ While she looked over the number Ashton began to get up in order to leave the bar. After the incident with Jennovaā€™s sister people were clearing out pretty fast. He might as well leave along with them. Besides maybe he could visit the succubus and her supposed ā€œsibling.ā€
A hand grasping his wrist stopped him in his tracks. He whirled around with full intentions to break his attackerā€™s limb. However it was only Rosetta. He could easily shake her off, which he did, and then leave. Except for the fact that her feelings were obviously in a panicked turmoil causing any command she issued to be more powerful. Ashton knew where this was leading.

ā€œDonā€™t leave me.ā€ He rolled his eyes at her obvious attempt to cover up her blurted order. She couldnā€™t have made her bidding something easily completed as well as quickly so the Fey could be on his way. No, she had to fabricate something that came straight out of a fairytale.

Perhaps he could defy her. He pushed at her defenses as a test to see if he could break through. Well he couldnā€™t exactly destroy her mental wall, but there were definitely some holes he could maneuver through in order to resist her command.
However just as he was about to do so he remembered the connection between Rose and the locket. If he left now heā€™d not only leave with a headache induced from strain on his brain but empty handed as well. He at least wanted some information on her relationship with the amulet.

Sending a silent apology to Jennova he allowed himself to be lead over to a table that already had two occupants. One of them was the dog he had come to greatly abhor. And next to him was a cat girl. How ironic. He thought in passing before sitting down next to Rose.

Ashton put one elbow on the table and leaned against the palm of his hand surveying the two across from him. The girl who sat before him was obviously a Neko what with her ears and tail twitching all over the place. Truth be told, Ashton had a small place in his heart for cats although he never showed it. However this girl wasnā€™t a cat, she was a mutation. 50% cat, 50% human she was as good as a half breed such as the one sitting next to her. And speak of the devil; Takeru was subtly glaring at him from across the table.

Ashton gave a bitter laugh as he caught the mongrelā€™s expression. ā€œItā€™s not like I chose to be here, hybrid.ā€ He told the other male with in a slightly sour tone. He wanted the locket but the package that came with it interfered with his plans. How aggravating it was that his goal was so close to him and at the same time so far. Ashton hated to admit it but perhaps he needed and ally to carry out the plan that had begun to formulate in his head.

Rose was annoyed as Ashton spoke. It was as if he had been forced to follow her to the table. Okay so she had grabbed his arm but still. Surely he was able to break free from her grasp? "Shut it fairy, Iā€™m trying to listen.ā€ She shot the Fey a look before turning back to Takeru who had just finished introducing himself. She immediately regretted it. It had come out before she had reflected on it. After all if she had said that to a human she didnā€™t have the possibility of being killed. But there was no going back now. She decided to play it cool and act as if she hadnā€™t just insulted a man who was considered to be very powerful and destructive. Youā€™re not helping yourself become any less uneasy. She thought to herself before realizing that she still needed to tell the human and cat girl who she was.

ā€œAh, Iā€™m Rosetta Stoane. Just call me Rose.ā€ She said forcing a smile on her face. God damn it, she was going to make friends in this sanity-forsaken town whether she liked it or not! Then she realized that Takeru was distracted with petting theā€¦ Neko, was it?

ā€œErrā€¦ā€ She paused, unsure what to make of this affectionate movement. The girl did look extremely soft but wasnā€™t petting a person a sign of being familiar if not close with each other. She coughed awkwardly to get his attention. ā€œUhā€¦Girlfriend?ā€ she questioned Takeru while nodding at the girl to make clear who she was talking about.

Just then, however, the waitress who had previously been serving the cat girl tapped Roseā€™s shoulder lightly. ā€œExcuse me Miss, may I please steal Ashton from you?ā€ Her voice was like wind chimes; soft and calming yet at the same time loud enough so that all would be able enjoy the tune. Rose paused for a moment as she looked at this incredible beauty before her. Wait what did she say? Oh, right!

ā€œOf course. Heā€™s all yours.ā€ She said, a bit flustered about her ditzy side that was beginning to show.

ā€œIā€™m not an object, you know.ā€ Although his voice wasnā€™t angry Rose couldnā€™t tell if he was actually annoyed or not. His voice was a flat almost bored monotone and his face was like a thin sheet of ice that concealed a treacherous and icy lake. It was cold and unrevealing; there was no telling when or where it could crack.

Ashton got up to stand by Valentineā€™s side although it seemed a bit force as if something was holding him back. How odd. Rose wondered what the Fey needed to talk about. If it had anything to do with the locket she felt like she needed to be a part of it. After all, it was her neck that it was trapped around.

She turned away from the two regal like creatures to view someone who actually normal. And in this world, normal was a good thing.

But she couldnā€™t think of what to say. What was one to say in such a situation? So she asked the first thing that came to her mind. ā€œSo, uh, come here often?ā€ Nice move, Rose. Using a pickup line is totally the way to get to know someone.

As the Neko purred she threw a bit of persuasion into the faint rumble. Pet me~ Pet me~ She looked up to the boy with adoring eyes. She wondered if he remembered her. Although he had never laid eyes upon her in her human form, perhaps he felt the same kind of connection she did.

Elaine could see him hesitating and so made her purrs even more alluring and convincing. Finally he gave in and his hand came down gently upon her head, stroking it in a repeated fashion softly. When he scratched behind her ears she closed her eyes with a soft sigh. She wished she could stay like that forever; full of bliss and for once glad that she had the sensitive feelings of a cat.

ā€œUhā€¦Girlfriend?ā€ Elaine froze. What am I doing? She had just used her powers of persuasion to convince this man to pet her in the middle of a popular bar where there were people all around her. Immediately the Neko jerked back from the comforting hand her ears and tail disappearing at the same time. She was back to her usual shy stature, the lulling moment of protection now vacant.

ā€œS-Sorry, again. I donā€™t know what I was t-thinking.ā€ Her blush crept up again and she shrunk away from the closest person, this being Takeru. Unfortunately she backed her chair right into the waitress who was currently asking her how she would like her fish.

ā€œT-The fish plateā€™s fine. Cooked, please.ā€ She muttered out her order before ducking her head to hide her flushed face.

((Sorry that it's relativley short and that the quality is meh. Forgive me! >.<))

Takeru Daijuuji

ā€œItā€™s not like I chose to be here, hybrid.ā€

Hybrid? Why the hell is everybody saying I'm a hybrid! I don't have sharp fangs nor do I turn into a bat! It's beginning to annoy me, especially when this guy says it.

Perhaps the young hybrid was in a state of denial. He did not want to believe that he was not just simply a human. It made sense to him, of course, as he was not stronger than other humans and he did not have any supernatural abilities so to speak. If that were the case, then how could he be anything but a normal human? If he was partially a vampire or other being, would he not have shown traits of them? Well, he did have a dislike for garlic, but there was no way that was anything but a coincidence. He was a normal person who had only human blood in him, he was so sure of this. It did not matter what monsters said, they were probably just smelling the vampire that had attacked him earlier. Yeah, that had to be it.

ā€œAh, Iā€™m Rosetta Stoane. Just call me Rose.ā€ came the woman's voice, snapping him from his thoughts.

He thought the name was rather beautiful and unique. At least it wasn't something like 'Amy America' or 'Julie Jobs' or something generic. It stood out to him, but oddly sounded familiar as well. Like he had heard it in a conversation before. It was possible that he met her sometime before and just doesn't remember it. But then again, who could forget a pretty face like that? Truth be told, there were a lot of faces in this bar he wasn't going to forget. They all left a significant mark on his mind and------

....

....

....

Rossetta Stoane?

Rosetta Stone....

...wat.

Figuring out just why her name sounded so familiar, he was confused as to what emotion he should be feeling at this particular moment. He could take her name as an insult or a taunt, as it was possible she was just bullshitting him and wanted to laugh at him. Or... he could feel kinda sorry that she shares a name with a language learning software. It was a tough decision, but he decided to go with C and just ignore the coincidence.

"...I am glad to meet you, Rose." he replied, his hand still softly scratching the behinds of the Neko's ears. At this point it was just automatic and he was not actively trying to do so. It was like his hand was made for this specific purpose -- to scratch this cat's ears so that she may feel pleased. The purring was its own reward, also. But that is probably why he then caused Rose to misinterpret the situation... greatly.

"Err.... uh...Girlfriend?" Rose asked, her head nodded in the other woman's direction.

Takeru's reaction mimicked the Neko's in that he nearly froze upon hearing those words. He swiftly retracted his hand from her head and wore an expression of panic mixed with surprised, sprinkled with a bit of embarrassment. "N-no!" he fired his answer off immediately, obviously flustered. "I... err... just can't help it around cats..." he felt fairly defeated upon mentioning it. How cats could have such a profound effect upon him was anyone's guess, but he knew he could not fully resist the temptation of a succubus, so kittens were so far up he could not even see their backs.

ā€œS-Sorry, again. I donā€™t know what I was t-thinking.ā€ the girl apologized.

He managed to recover in time to speak to her. "It's nothing, you just reminded me of a cat I once had, so I wasn't really able to help myself." a nervous chuckle followed this so he could try to hide his embarrassment, but to no avail. Just about anybody could see through it. Luckily, Valentine saved the day.

"Takeru, would you like another drink?" she asked.

"That sounds about lovely. Jennova asked earlier, but I believe she had some important business to attend to..." he told her, and she then took the kitten's order and left, after asking the Fey something, but honestly Takeru paid no mind to Ashton's affairs, as the thought of him irritated Takeru. Ah, hate at its finest.

ā€œSo, uh, come here often?ā€ Rose asked, presumably to him.

"No, actually." he replied. He either ignored or just did not pick up how that line might have been taken, but either way he answered it literally. "Today is the first day I've been here, and I only just learned about it when I got here. I'm surprised there a safe haven for humans and monsters, even if its foundations are a bit shaky."

Valentine

Valentine smiled, delighted with Ashton's answer. "Well that is amazing to hear. Jennora is one hybrid that everyone should learn to make an acceptation for." She told Ashton with a tap on the shoulder before a purple haired girl came up to the bar and asked for the best plate. "Everything is good." She simply stated and pulled out a menu. She smiled happily as she handed it to the girl. "We will be closing in an hour for a party my co-worker is having. Your welcome to attend the party if you'd wish. You can either take the address from me or stay here and walk over with me. Excuse me one moment." She said as she heard someone yelling in the kitchen

While she was in the kitchen she delivered the Neko's order. Someone had ordered the same thing but had just ran out so she took the order, as well as Takeru's order and put them both on a tray. Then made the male hybrid another drink.

She quickly, yet carefully made her way over to the table and set the plates down in front of the Neko girl and in front of Takeru. Lastly she gave him his drink. Though before walking away she made sure to make eye contact with everyone. "I will be closing down the tavern early tonight because Jennova is throwing a party for her sister. She has invited all of you and hopes you will attention."

"She lives on the next street over, so I will be closing in an hour and will be heading over there shortly after. If you would like to stay with me and go over when I do that is alright, though I will be walking." She warned, she knew some people were not fund of walking nowadays.

Jennova

Image

Sure. I was actually meaning to meet her, but you can see how that would have been a problem with all that commotion around.

As for the subject of her being a hybrid, I couldn't care less.

The point is, I'll be there. Do be aware however that I may be a bit late or a bit early, this 'time' thing is still a bit confusing to me.

Was a text message she had revieced from Levi's number. She smiled at the message, but did not reply so soon. Instead she headed to the kitchen to tell her servants and maids to start preparing a feast that would need to be ready in two hours. She loved how fast they worked, being as they were not humans, and could use magic to make their dishes. Which always came in handy around her home.

It is perfectly alright if you are late or early. Just walk in when you are here. She sent to Levi before heading upstairs to change into a beautiful dress and then going to talk to her sister.

She knocked once on Jennora's door before opening it, to find her sister bathing in her bath tub. "I've missed this tub so much" Her sister practically squealed in excitement. Jennova wondered how the fact that nobody at the bar liked her, and how it was not affecting her. Then again her sister was easily distracted. "I'm throwing a party for you in two hours. Make sure you are well dressed. Alright?"

Jennora's eyes lit up as she scratched her head. Her long blue hair was up in a tall bun, all messy like she had just woken up. Though Jennova knew her sister could easily change to make herself look wonderful to all eyes. "Jennova, is it alright if I stop running now?" Her little sister asked, bringing Jennova out of her own mind.

Jennova took a while to answer before smiling. "Yes. You can stay home now." She knew things could only get worse from here on out. But it was time she started to protect her sister, rather then hide her from the world...Right?

Jennora

Image

After her sister left her, Jennora smiled as she soaked all her worries away. Tonight would be different, she wouldn't be shy or push people away. She knew her sister would bring in people that only she liked, which meant that they may just like her. Maybe she'd even meet her true love tonight! Though, that thought was a bit too much for her to be thinking of. As soon as the thought came to mind she quickly replaced it.

Jennora loved her older sister, for the longest time Jennora was alone in the world, but she could always count on her sister. And if Valentine could find good in Jennora then maybe there WERE other people out there who could too? The more she thought of all the happy possibilities the more she hoped that everyone she would meet tonight would end up being a friend to her one day.

And if she of all people could make some friends then maybe she'd find someone who she couldn't kill. That could not die by a succubus/fey's hand. Maybe...Just maybe that person might love her. The real her, not what just is on the outside, but also what's on the inside.

She was out of the bath ten minutes after Jennova had come to talk to her and was trying to pick out a dress. She had many, and now she was glad that she never grew all that much. She never really had to go shopping for new clothes. Though every time she came home, for some odd reason there was more clothes then the time before. Jennova must have kept buying her things even if the girl wasn't here!

"Tonight is going to be different." Jennora told herself as she looked at herself in the mirror, she was still wrapped up in a towel, but she needed to let herself believe that tonight really would be different. Nobody was going to try to harm her, and she would be safe. She sighed, not even fully believing that. But if she didn't believe in something how could she even try to change her life around. "Nothing bad is going to happen to you." With that she walked into her closet and started searching through all her dresses.

Rose smiled when Takeru seemed to brush off her obviously unintended pick up line. It seemed her judgment had been correct when she had decided to drag Ashton over to this table. However it seemed as if the two, Ashton and Takeru, were already familiar with each other. And apparently ā€œfamiliarā€ actually meant ā€œdespised each other.ā€ She wondered briefly what had happened between them. For the short time she had known Ashton, heā€™d been pretty closed off and even taunted her about her nonexistent ā€œboyfriend.ā€ She wasnā€™t one to judge too quickly (unless you happened to be trying to kill her) but from the interactions Rose had had with the two men so far, it seemed that Ashton would be the most likely to start a hypothetical argument.

ā€œNo, actually. Today is the first day I've been here, and I only just learned about it when I got here. I'm surprised there is a safe haven for humans and monsters, even if its foundations are a bit shaky.ā€ Rose brightened as he spoke. They had something in common, an aspect she had been subtly searching for. But most people in the bar seemed to be very familiar with their surroundings.

ā€œItā€™s a similar situation for me,ā€ she said, nodding for emphasis. ā€œI was only introduced to this place today and, crazy as it sounds, Iā€™ve been a vampire for a week without realizing it. Today was also the day I discovered this hell- err, world.ā€ Rosetta gave a short, dark-humored laugh before continuing. ā€œI was about to kill someone before Levi intervened.ā€ She wasnā€™t quite sure if Takeru was aware of the Leviathan who had deemed himself a nickname seemingly based off his species, but she called him by name anyway. After a little shudder from recalling the previous events, Rose forced herself to smile again and coated her voice with honey to disguise her disgust for the monstrous part of her.

ā€œAnyway thatā€™s enough about me,ā€ Before she could continue Valentine came over to the table to deliver the orders to the cat girl who muttered a whispered thanks and to Takeru. But she didnā€™t take off after that instead waiting till everyone was looking at her to see what she had to say.

ā€œI will be closing down the tavern early tonight because Jennova is throwing a party for her sister. She has invited all of you and hopes you will attention. She lives on the next street over, so I will be closing in an hour and will be heading over there shortly after. If you would like to stay with me and go over when I do that is alright, though I will be walking.ā€ The first thing that registered in Roseā€™s mind was the word ā€œsister.ā€ Hadnā€™t she been the cause of the commotion earlier? The vampire wondered what was so special about her but decided not to press the issue.

The next thing that she heard was ā€œparty.ā€ Immediately her fake smile slipped away to be replaced with a genuine expression of glee. Rose loved parties so much that she almost became a little kid when they were mentioned. The gears began to turn in her head as she thought about the upcoming event. Was it formal or casual? Should she go home to change? Or should she just go in the clothes she currently had on? She looked down surveying herself with a grimace. The hoodie she donned was baggy and pretty worn in as were her boots and fade jeans with frayed edges. Not the best outfit to wear to a party but then again, it wasnā€™t being hosted by normal human beings. Stillā€¦ She paused considering the best choice.

(( OOC: DUN DUN DUN! [Dramatic music that is not relevant to the ending at all.] AND THEN THE POST ENDED BECAUSE Iā€™M SUPER LAZY I HAVE A SPEECH TOMORROW THAT NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED ugh school. <(-^-)> Sorry itā€™s, again, so short but I warned you. D: Dont kill me! ))

Valentine

After being almost sure that everyone at the little table was going to make it to the party, Valentine wrote Jennova's address down on a piece of paper and stuck it in the middle of the table. "Well, for those of you who would like to go change and then meet us there your welcome to take the address. Or you could use some random clothes I have hanging up in the back. I save them for Jenn's parties all the time!" She said excited that there was something better going on tonight.

Valentine looked at Takeru and Elaine before leaving. "Enjoy your meals"

As soon as Valentine walked back to the bar the little girl with the purple hair asked her "What's your favorite thing on the menu" and then said "I decided I'll wait til closing to walk with you"

Valentine thought for a moment, there were plenty of fantastic things to order, so that was a hard question to answer right away. Though after a few seconds of thinking it over she made her desicson. "I think I greatly enjoy the Italian pasta with chicken."

Valentine smiled and made the girl a glass of wine. "And it goes great with this" She added. "By the way, knowing Jenn this party will be semi-fancy. I have some dresses in the back if you'd like to look at them before we leave. There's literally a million dresses back there and about just the same amount of suits for guys." She laughed at herself. She had a little collection, she couldn't help it.

((OOC: Time skipping here.))

After all the dishes were cleaned and almost everyone who wasn't going to the party had left, Valentine opened up the doors to her back room. It was almost like a small house, with a living room, a few rooms with beds if someone needed to crash. It was rather comfortable back there as well.

There was a room directing across from the door that she had opened that was full of clothing of all kinds. Valentine picked herself out a long silk blue dress with a white bust part. She loved the dress, she had gotten it for her 21st birthday, which was forever ago. But Valentine didn't really grow all that much, so she kept it all these years and only wore it to very special places. And tonight, was special. Even if others thought of it as just a party where they could get free drinks and food it was special.

She changed quickly and came out of the room with her long white hair down and a blue bow on a headband in her hair. She smiled at the others waiting for her in the bar. "Let's go!" She said looking at all of them. She may not be close with any of them, and she was probably way too friendly but she just guessed that- that's how it would always be for her.

Jennova

The servants had gotten to work quickly, making her mansion look perfect for guests, for some strange reason they were decorating everything. They decorated her front yard, every inch of the house and even the garden in the back yard. Both the front and back doors were wide open and they were just setting food out in the ballroom when she had come downstairs after changing.

Jennova had picked a beautiful white dress to wear for the party and had even straightened her hair. She wasn't worried about how she looked but for parties like these, she had believed that she should look her best but not as good as her little princess. She smiled as she stood in the doorway. Watching the servants making final twiks to the front yard and the front garden areas.

She wondered if anyone would show up besides Levi and Valentine. Hopefully the two would drag others along for their own "misery". Why wouldn't anyone want to not come to one of her parties? She served drinks that you could never get at the bar, and she had humans that enjoyed getting vampire teeth in their skin.

Jennova had laid down a dress on her sisters bed because the one she had picked out on her own was horrible. -In her opinion- So when her sister came walking down the stairs Jennova couldn't help but giggle a bit inside.
((OOC: A picture of the dress :P ))

Jennova sent her sister into the ballroom while Jennova went for a small walk around her yard, she noticed a car was parked in her drive way but it was not one of hers. She gracefully walked over to the car just to see that Levi was sleeping in his car, this made her giggle a little bit as she knocked on his window and stepped back.

Only when he was out of the car did she try to talk to him. "Well hello there sexy devil." She stopped to think for a moment before asking "I know that your not attracted to anyone but isn't that a lonely life? Not having anyone to love or ever to be loved?" As soon as she asked it she could hear voices, and saw that Valentine was coming down the street with a group with her. A rather large group.

She looked back at Levi before going back inside. "Don't answer that. It's a stupid question." She tried hard to believe that other people felt pain because they didn't have that one person in their life either. Jennova would always live alone, well besides with her little sister.

Jennora

Image

((OOC: Oh dear... Im too tired to do this.. ))

Jennora didn't like that her sister had told her she couldn't wear the skin tight short dress, and choose her a different one. She wasn't AS OLD as her sister but at least more then half way there and her sister still treated her like a child!

They hadn't even been together under the same roof for at least an entire night before her older sister treats her like a child, how fantastic. And she choose to come back home to this. Jennora sighed as she mentally calmed herself down. Once she did she smiled and looked at herself through the full body mirror. Her sister did have good taste.

No matter how hard she tried she could never stay mad at her sister.... Well to be honest Jennora couldn't stay mad at anyone for too long. She giggled at that thought as she put on the matching heels to the dress and took out the rollers in her hair.

Her long blue hair, wasn't AS long now, just fell to her middle back now that it was curled to perfection. She was half fey afterall. It was only right that she looked perfect. Most times the woman didn't even have to try, though tonight was special. Her sister was welcoming her into the world for the first time ever.

She quickly made her way downstairs just to get a goofy smile and get told to go to the ballroom. At first she didn't like how bossy her sister was being, but once entering the ballroom she felt that anger melt away. The place was sparkling! It was beautiful! And there were decorations of all kinds. She thought her eyes were going to pop right out of her skull.

Afternoon
Levi's car

Levi had been sleeping in his car, but he had been awoken by the sudden shaking of his car. It wasn't Jennova knocking on the window, that hadn't happened yet. Instead, it was some delinquents trying to get the car door open. Levi woke up calmly and exited the car from underneath. He was in the form of a black sludge and managed to not be seen by the delinquents. They were still, after all, trying to get into Levi's car. They managed to get the door open.

Levi materialized behind one of the criminals. He didn't, in his opinion, have to show mercy. They had been caught doing something they shouldn't have and he had a perfectly good reason to kill them. He didn't however, want the news hearing of more deaths so quickly after the morning's death. Levi shifted into a bipedal wolf-like creature, then let his breathing be heard.

The delinquents ran as far as the could, unknowingly towards Valentine's tavern. They were human, so they were easy prey to anyone who would have wanted to 'devour' them. Levi left them run and shifted back into his human form. He went back into his car and laid back in the seat. He made sure to lock the doors once again and fell asleep without checking his phone. He had used a bit too much energy on changing into the bipedal wolf.

Small time skip

Levi's alarm on his phone hadn't woken him up, instead, Jennova knocking on his car's window had. He had unceremoniously woken up, his hair tangled and his expression dull. This had been however, quickly corrected through shapeshifting. He had expected the delinquents to have come back and had already elongated his fangs. He was however, met with Jennova. He cursed under his breath.

After correcting his terrible state, he unlocked his car door and stepped outside. "Morni-" Levi stopped, noting that the greeting was out of place. A slight blush tinged his face before fading away completely.

"Well hello there sexy devil." Jennova seemed intent on continuing the strange greetings, but Levi simply accepted them as platonic. "Afternoon." Levi managed to get a greeting in the moment she paused. "I know that your not attracted to anyone but isn't that a lonely life? Not having anyoone to love or ever to be loved?" Jennova was nearly interrupted by the chorus of voices coming from down the street, seemingly led by Valentine. Levi used that time to think of an appropriate response. He would responded but was busy thinking of the delinquents he had encountered earlier and if they had ran into Valentine's posse.

"Don't answer that. It's a stupid question." Jennova retracted her question before Levi could answer, but Levi decided he would answer anyways. That is, when he got inside. Levi followed Jennova into the mansion,

"I'm not a cold-hearted person Jennova," Levi began speaking while walking alongside Jennova, "I simply don't feel lust as others do, I can still feel love." Levi explained this as simply as he could, "And yes, this is a lonely life, but I've known it since the beginning of my life. I can't be sad due to the fact that I haven't known anything but being lonely." Levi stopped before he began sounding over dramatic and philosophical.

He wasn't sad and he didn't want to give the impression of being so. "But that's enough rambling from the scourge of God." Levi used a title given to him jokingly. Levi was, after having explained the facts, going to ask about Jennora, the person the welcoming party was for.

That was when Jennora, the party's center, came downstairs and was told to go to the ballroom. "What sort of person is your sister?" Levi asked Jennova this question. He didn't want to approach Jennora and happen to scare her off. He needed to know how to speak to the girl.

Takeru Daijuuji

ā€œItā€™s a similar situation for me,ā€ Rose said. ā€œI was only introduced to this place today and, crazy as it sounds, Iā€™ve been a vampire for a week without realizing it. Today was also the day I discovered this hell- err, world. I was about to kill someone before Levi intervened.ā€ an odd, humorless laugh came from her as she finished.

"Hmm... I see." Takeru gave a small nod. While he may not know who Levi was, it did not matter. He thought back to when he first learned about this strange world that he was actually living in unbeknownst to himself. It was quite the odd memory, to be honest. Though at the time, he was scared for his life, it was not the kind of conflict that people would normally think about when someone says they were attacked by a vampire. In fact, he could probably say it was a little embarrassing for the both of them. After all, the vampire left out of humiliation and not because he was fending her off. 'Awkward' would be the best way to describe it, if one had to do so with but a single word.

......

......

......

If you asked just about anybody who knew the young man, they would often say Takeru was a reliable young man, capable of great generosity. It was often that he would help others with work on his free time instead of slacking off or sitting around, and he never did ask for anything in return. He did things just for the sake of being of use to other people, and if someone needed assistance, he'd definitely provide it. Of course, Takeru was not superhuman, and though he could work hard for extending periods of time, his exhaustion would show itself once he was finished.

He had just left an old neighbor's house after he had finished helping with a new patio. The man was around 60 years old, much past the prime of his life, but Takeru however was still young and full of energy. The heavy lifting was too much for someone that age, so Takeru was asked to help and thusly he found himself in the situation. Once he was on his way home, it felt like Takeru could simply hit the floor and fall asleep. His arms and back started to ache, and the thought of drinking half the ocean and then hitting the hay was quite appealing to the young man. All he had to do was get home by walking, and the distance was but a few blocks - certainly nothing to worry about.

...except it was.

Takeru was no pervert, but it was not possible for him to not admire beauty when he saw it, even if he felt like it was bad to do so. So, as he walked home, he happened to pass by a very, very attractive woman. The look WOULD have been nothing more than a simple glance. He WOULD NOT have been checking her out, but simply grazing her with his look, as anyone does when somebody walks by. It would have been a normal glance and they'd have gone their separate ways, but the woman did not allow this to be. Instead, as they passed and their eyes met, she stopped him. It was an intimidating look she gave him, like a predator gives its meal before feasting. He was not entirely sure why, but he found himself unable to move, paralyzed by her gaze, even though there had yet to be a sound between either one of them.

"Your smell... " she began, her nose lifting just a bit, taking in his scent as she spoke. "...it's appetizing."

Takeru had to raise in eyebrow in response. He was not sure if that was some odd come-on, or if she was being serious. The look in her eye gave him the feeling that both were the case. "...uh?" it was still confusing to him. Something about her told him to be on his guard and to not relax around her. There was the feeling of hostile intent coming from that alluring smile, he just knew it. So naturally, he wanted to get away from her, and as soon as possible. "...well I've actually got to get going..." he tried playing off the whole situation and escaping, but she did not let this be either.

"You know, I have been so busy these past few days. So... so busy. I've not eaten in quite the while." already close to each other, the woman closed what little distance there was to him. "Normally I don't have snacks on a whim, but I just can't resist."

That feeling he had from before reached his chest and at this point, every fiber of his being told him to make a dash away from her. She had a beautiful face and smile, but her malicious intentions could not go unnoticed, even by the oblivious (then) Takeru. Because it was so strong, the young boy did not forget to heed the warnings his gut was giving him, and he took a step back. "I-I'm not sure what you're saying....." he gave a small, nervous laugh as he said so.

"You. You look and smell like a great meal." she replied, taking a step towards him.

He stepped back again.

"Aha... well, thank you.. I guess? But I do really have to get going..." and with the subtly of a honey badger tearing a cobra apart, he broke into a sprint away from the lady.

He ran.

It was the right decision. There was something off about her that made him feel weak and frightened. She would have killed him if he stayed or something! He never had a feeling like that that was strong enough to make him nauseous, so he had to listen to it! And so he kept on running and running, not even looking back to see if she was following. He ran, then ran some more, and then ran even more after that. He ran until his legs hurt, his heart felt like it'd beat out of his chest, and until he ran out of breath. He did not know where he ran, but he knew that if it were away from her, he'd be safe. Or rather... he hoped.

"I'm not like other vampires, hun. I don't particularly like working for a meal if I don't have to." came that same woman's voice from behind him.

Slowly, he turned around to face the voice of the girl. Vampire?! Is she serious?! Now he was sweating in nervousness and fear. She did not seem to be exhausted in the least, even though she had to have been running just as much as Takeru, who was definitely in good shape. There was no way she had THAT much stamina, right? Takeru remained silent in face of the woman, likely due to being overwhelmed by fear, as he almost couldn't move his legs.

"Quiet now, are we? I guess being in the presence of royalty has you mute." her voice switched nearly from seductive to spoiled in but an instant as she spoke. Takeru couldn't process much, but he probably would have thought 'Vampires have kings?' if he could at that moment. Taking one step closer to the man, drawing her face ever so closely to his, she spoke. "Or maybe you're honored to be the meal of such an important individual? Well, thank you for the meal. I'll enjoy it, as it's rare to meet such a delicacy as yourself. In fact, you almost smell of someone I knew~" with her seductive tone back in place, she opened her mouth wide, revealing fangs that almost seemed demon-like and went to clamp down on his neck. But at the last moment, Takeru acted!

It was but a simple step back. He was too scared to push her or do anything major, but he managed to step back with all his might, stepping on something that threw his balance off. The woman, lunging at him as he did, fell with him. Takeru managed to simply fall flat on his butt, which did hurt a bit, but nothing serious. However, the young vampire lady did not have such luck, and instead faceplanted into the wall that Takeru was less than two inches from hitting. It looked like it hurt.

She only took but a second to recover, raising up above him and holding her hand to her mouth, rubbing it softly. She looked over Takeru again before speaking silently. "Nevermind. I see..." she took a step back from Takeru, keeping her eye on him the entire time. And, in a sudden moment, she vanished from his site.

......

......

......

Takeru was snapped back to reality by Valentine, who was setting down Takeru's food and drink, as well as what the cat-girl had ordered. "Thank you." he told her before she began to announce something to the entirely of them.

"I will be closing down the tavern early tonight because Jennova is throwing a party for her sister. She has invited all of you and hopes you will attention. She lives on the next street over, so I will be closing in an hour and will be heading over there shortly after. If you would like to stay with me and go over when I do that is alright, though I will be walking." she informed. "Well, for those of you who would like to go change and then meet us there your welcome to take the address. Or you could use some random clothes I have hanging up in the back. I save them for Jenn's parties all the time!"

So they apparently liked to party, is what Takeru's impression of that statement was. Well, it was not like he did not enjoy a party either, but he couldn't help but wonder how a monster party would go. Maybe they'd do the monster mash. Did he really want to go to this one, though? He was new to the scene, and he was a human, or a hybrid, apparently. Was he fit in for this kind of setting? Probably not. But he could not just turn Valentine and Jennova down after what they've done for (and to) him. It just wasn't in his nature to disrespect (most) people. "Alright, well that sounds fun. I'll head over with you if that's alright, but I'm interested in seeing what kind of clothing you've gotten when you get the chance." He then gave a nod to Valentine time as she left to go do the last of her work.

"So..." he began, looking back at Rose. "I guess I have to tell you a bit about myself now, if I'm remembering where we left off correctly." and so, he told Rose a little bit about himself and how he was introduced into the world of monsters and this bar, albeit 'forgetting' some of the details on how he and Jennova met.

Then there was a timeskip or some shit.

"Well hello there sexy devil."

"You're not that bad looking yourself, Jennova." Takeru said all cool-like while wearing an old biker uniform and hitting the conveniently placed jukebox that had also conveniently stopped working and conveniently fixed it, shouting "AY!" while doing so... conveniently.

Actually, Takeru was with the group that was headed to the party Valentine mentioned, in a suit that may or may not have been stolen from a businessman. Either way, it did look fitting for the young man, who did indeed enjoy wearing attire such as this. He wasn't sure why he did, but be just did. Takeru gave single wave to Jennova, who he saw in the distance as the group approached. He was glad that she'd at least be there for his first monster mash. Well, it was her party to begin with, so of course she'd be there, but he was still happy someone he sorta-kinda-feltlike-ish he knew was going to be attending, that way he did not think he was entirely alone.

"Yo." he simply said as they approached.

It seemed as if Valentine knew exactly what Rose was thinking as while she had been deliberating in what to wear. "Well, for those of you who would like to go change and then meet us there youā€™re welcome to take the address. Or you could use some random clothes I have hanging up in the back. I save them for Jenn's parties all the time!ā€ The Fey told the group, setting the loose leaf sheet of paper, on which she had scrawled Jennovaā€™s address, in the middle of the table; presumably so one could take it to find their way.

Rose appreciated the offer of the clothes that would probably be more extravagant than her own, but she felt more comfortable in bearings that were of her possession. Obviously this meant she would have to go home and change. Being a woman, even she had a scrap of pride left meaning that she would not show up in such attire as she donned currently.

Based on the fact that Valentine had suggested on changing out of casual clothes, the party was to be a relaxed formality where the guests were expected to pretty themselves up a bit. She had just the outfit that sat waiting in her closet in case of such an event. Rose was already planning her outfit as she ripped off a small section of the paper on the table and, using the ballpoint pen that Valentine had previously used to write the original address, copied the number in a scribble. She had decided on leaving the piece of paper that Valentine had given the group just in case another was in need of directions.

ā€œIā€™ll be taking a separate route from the rest of you.ā€ Rose spoke to the whole group in general just to get her plans known and then proceeded to leave the bar.

Laterā€¦

[ Time: Early Evening. About a little over an hour or so before the party. Setting: Rosettaā€™s Apartment.]

She unlocked the door to her apartment as quickly as possible. Rose only had about an hour or so before the party and so needed to move fast. The door opened with a creak, indicating it was due time for the hinges to be oiled, to reveal the slightly cramped room still in the same mess she had left it in. She cringed as she recalled her short week of what she had thought was depression. After closing the door she tossed her jacket on the queen sized bed that took up most of the space in the room and grabbed a broom and dust pan from a small closet.

It didnā€™t take long for the young woman to clean the mess that she had made over the time period of a week. It had looked like quite the calamity had happened in the apartment but this was because of how small and cheap it was. It wasnā€™t that Rose couldnā€™t afford a fancy home to call her own. After all, when she had turned eighteen she had inherited the Stoane fortune. It was just that, ever since she could remember, she had always had the phobia of large and empty spaces where no one but her resided in. They always seemed so lonely and dark. Not as comfy and cozy as her apartment, although earlier in the day it had seemed a bit too confined. Perhaps itā€™s time for me to upgrade my living standards.

Rosetta hopped into the shower for a quick clean. It proved to be a small problem, not to mention irritation, when she couldnā€™t get the necklace off, but she ignored it praying that it would rust after a few hot baths in the future.

Finally, with a towel wrapped tightly around her torso, Rose went to scavenge through her closet in a mission to find the perfect outfit. Finally she came up with the treasure she had been searching for. It was a bit small but she was sure it would still fit snugly. She hadnā€™t yet had the chance to wear the dress since she had bought it a while ago and the thought of finally being able to show it off was exciting.

It was clear, at least to Rose, that it was a simple, less extravagant look that she was striving for tonight. The dark purple dress itself was relatively plain though it curved with her rather petite body nicely. The top portion was sleeveless and only mere straps clung to her shoulders while the rest of the material clung tightly around her body and ended with a slight frill a little past mid-thigh. She adorned pumps to fabricate the illusion that she was taller than her actual height and topped the plain yet formal outfit off with shimmering, crystal like earpieces that dangled from her ear lobes. Lastly she grabbed a section of her hair and pulled it into a ponytail, allowing the rest of her locks to hang free.

Finally she tucked the two pieces of paper, one containing the address she was headed to the other the emergency phone number, into her strapless bra before leaving.

The manor was large and intimidating with a long driveway in the front. It seemed almost Victorian with a modern touch here and there. Now that she had arrived, Roseā€™s excitement was mixed with nervousness of meeting so many new people. She had always rather been socially awkward which clashed with her tendency to impulsively act and talk to strangers. She didnā€™t know why the night seemed to hold some sort of significance; perhaps it was the events that had taken place over the course of the day or all the strange people she was meeting.

Whatever the cause was, she was sure, somehow, that she was going to come out of her little shell once and for all. It all started now, at the front of the mansion. She hesitated before moving forward, unsure of what action she was to take. She inhaled deeply before firmly knocking upon the luxurious and eloquently styled front doors.

Ashton rarely ever dressed in formal attire, much less a suit; he preferred to don casual everyday clothing to events such as weddings, parties, and the like. However he would comply this time, or at least partially. He wasnā€™t going to wear a stiff suit that made movement hard. That would be troublesome. However, he was willing to wear a black collared shirt with a loose tie in place. It was better than nothing. After all, it would be quite the spectacle for him to show up shirtless though not necessarily a bad thing. He kept his dark, almost black, jeans on however as he found the ā€œproperā€ pants to be as stiff as cardstock which was quite the annoying factor.

After he had finished changing at the back of tavern per Valentineā€™s instructions, he caught up with the group that was preparing to leave. The female fey locked up the bar and they were on their way. It was a rather large group and as he was making his way to the front so he could converse with Valentine he bumped into the blonde Neko who was decked in a brightly colored dress of frills and lace.

When he finally had been able to part the sea of creatures, Ashton placed himself beside the white haired woman. ā€œSo, what exactly is the relationship between those two? It seems pretty secretive and it was quite the spectacle back there at the bar when she came in.ā€ ā€œSheā€ referred to Jennovaā€™s sister.

He waited for a reply as the mansion that he was familiar with came into view.

((OOC: Okay, I know Ashtonā€™s post is super short and thereā€™s no Elaine, but Iā€™m tired and short on time. Also I need my daily dose of sugar. [I know, Iā€™m quite the fatty. :3] I'm just gonna tag everyone btw.))
