Distinguishing Marks
There are a few scars on Annelise's body, some from years of roughly being a gymnast and for those summers that she spent with cousins and siblings. The only piercings she has are her ears and that is all she is ever going to get. She does have a few tattoos: one, two, three, and four.

Clothing Description
Annelise's look is never far from the obviously expensive and obviously elegant, even during her simplest of days. There are rarely items worn that aren't designer brands and while she is not typically a preppy Manhattan elite, she is never not classy and glamorous. There is always a bit of sensuality in her outfits, whether it means that there is skin showing or not. The point is that she can catch your eye while maintaining a timeless elegance befitting her age and social status. Such can be seen here, here, here, and here. She seems to always know the latest trends and each of her ensembles, even her uniforms, look like they stepped out of a magazine.

Family Life
Annelise is the second youngest in the Walton family line, the richest family in the continental US. With her grandfather, Jim Walton, on the Board of Directors at Wal-Mart, CEO of Arvest Bank, and Charmain of Community Publishing Inc, her mother Alice never had to worry for anything. Money had never been a problem within their family and that didn't change when Alice became Alice Pioretti. As most would be quick to point out, Annelise does not hold her father's surname, but her grandfather's. Why? Because Christopher Piroetti and Alice Pioretti did not last long. In fact, they were barely married six months before Alice filed for an annulment. Apparently, Christopher didn't know what fidelity meant and ALice had no patience for someone who could not remain loyal to her. Though, this did not come as a surprise to many. Alice was only about eighteen, a little older than that, when she decided to get married and wound up pregnant. Christopher had already married once and divorced with two other children in California. He had already played this game once. He obviously didn't expect Alice to play him harder. She fought for full custody of the unborn baby and to even rub salt in the wound, she even has him paying child support despite the copious amounts of money her family has. After all, everyone knows the Walton family; their network is over $150 B. And Annelise has known that little fact for the longest time.

When she was around four years old, her mother moved them to a very lavish estate in Long Island, New York. Here is where Annelise spent the large part of her childhood, although she would return to Arkansas during the summers and other family events. Alice hired private instructors for Annelise at a young age so that by the time Annelise turned ten, the then brunette spoke English and French quite fluently. She would never learn her father's native Spanish tongue, though she has caught onto the phrases and such since they reconnected. Annelise had no other siblings near her, only her caretaker, Maria's, daughter. Sure, she had time to play with her aunts and uncles, but they were in their late teens and twenties. They couldn't really entertain young Annelise. So, she dedicated her time to gymnastics and became an All-star cheerleader. She took dance lessons and was a rather curious little girl, oftentimes inquiring about the world from her mother whenever the woman made the time. By the time her eleventh birthday rolled around, Annelise was the apple of her mother's eye - if she already was not - and already on the way to becoming a business woman.

When she turned twelve, she expressed an interest in fashion. While it was quite easy for her to simply lounge about since her own trust fund was a very large sum, Annelise could never fathom sitting around. And as a child, if it wasn't her mother's closet she was admiring, it was the wardrobe of the elite, particularly celebrities or designers. Her earliest loves were Chanel and Prada, but she grew to love BCBG and every other designer label. She's learned how to sew from her mother and was taken to various fashion shows and red carpet events, making herself known in those arenas. While most would say that she is pretty much spoiled by her family and all the wealth they have, all Annelise does is remind them that they don't have her opportunities and instead of hating, they should just try to get on her level. Even though she knows most will never.

Academic Career
While Annelise does not have the highest grade point average in Constance, she does fall under the A- range with her 3.87 grade point average and she is very proud of it. It has nothing to do with having others write her papers or do her assignments, though she has been known to elicit such devotion when she is too busy to be concentrating on homework. She is the most popular girl at Constance and even those at The Dalton School know of her. She is the girl every girl only dreams they could be or emulate, and she is the girl every guy has wanted at least once in their time at school. Currently, she is looking for someone to take her throne once she leaves.

Future Plans
She acts flippantly about it, but Annelise is applying to Columbia University, NYU, Cal-Berkeley University, Cambridge University, and a few other notable schools. But she's mostly looking to stay in New York where some of the bigger designers are.

Hobbies
Shopping: as a girl who loves fashion and clothing, of course she loves shopping and never to basic stores. No, she considers shopping a pastime, even window shopping. She loves the idea of trying pieces on and even more-so admiring them for their fabric and the intricate designs. But she would never spend too frivolously. Exercising: If she is not at the UES' Exhale spa getting a full package, she is there for the Core Fusion sessions, though she is not opposed to working out at home in her private facility with the assistance from her personal trainer. She likes being fit, especially since she stopped cheering and gymnastics after coming to Constance Listening to music Dancing Sketching and designing fashion items Being in charge Throwing themed parties

Bad Habits
Rumors: While Annelise would say that it is beneath her to start rumors, if it was for the sake of getting back at someone she does not like or because someone has wronged her, she would not hesitate in filling the halls with whispered insults. Most people call it vicious, she calls it getting even. Not giving people the time of day if they are not a part of her social or economic circle Being bitchy and catty towards people who aren't her friends, while smiling as sweetly as can be Getting really jealous and territorial when she sees a love interest with another female Working really hard to prove herself to her father, oftentimes being too anxious and caught up in that Being bossy and demanding, particularly with her friends

Personality
{Vivacious, Vindictive, Vain, Cunning, Demanding, Territorial, Guarded}
When you are as privileged as a girl like Annelise Walton, you're going to have to come with some kind of flaw and if there is one thing that most people hate her for, it is her being a bitch. The worst part is that she has acknowledged that she is a bitch; she practically revels in it. And why not? If her being very blunt and telling you about yourself is her being a bitch, then so be it. Granted, her specialty in bitchiness revolves around being quite judgmental at times, looking down on certain people, and being very expressive in her likes and dislikes. Besides, why should she not be a bitch? Did anyone think the B in 'Queen B' stood for anything else? And her being a bitch simply means she has power and power is everything to her.

Annelise is the girl to be admired and sought after and to be completely honest, she has a very high opinion of herself. She's confident, oftentimes being seen as vain considering how amazing she thinks she is. And she is. She has one of the highest grade point averages in her school, all of her clothing are pretty much designer brand, she is possibly the richest girl at school, and she is pretty damn good looking. Besides, if you appear like you have confidence in yourself, then nobody can bring you down. At least, that's her mentality and sure, she might bring others down, but that's only if they are aggravating her or have seriously pissed her off. The latter is not something you want to do. Being a queen means being able to put people in their places and while Annelise does have that aforementioned mean streak, her vindictive side is one that you never want to cross. In fact, you would be an idiot to do so. Whether her revenge means the simplest of things like being catty and snarky and hurting one's feelings or pretty much making it impossible for you to remain in the city without everyone knowing how ruined she has made you, know that it will come and it will end with her cute little triumphant smile and a devilish look in her eyes. With a deceivingly sweet face and heart-wrenching smile like Annelise's, who would even suspect that she could do any wrong? However, don't let the sweetness and the Gucci fool you. She will ruin you with whatever power she possesses.

However, don't ever think that Annelise is just bitch. No, she does have a sweeter side and mostly all of her friends see it. Can she be a bit demanding and bossy? Yes, it wouldn't be Annelise without it. She can be the best friend that one could only dream about or she could be your worst enemy. The big thing is that while some can say that they are close to her, only a select few can say that they truly know her - that they have seen the girl who tries so damn hard to prove herself to a father that is barely there and a mother who has no expectation of her. Annelise can be quite guarded, oftentimes being friendly and sweet to friends and loved ones, but holding them at a distance. If they aren't that close, then they can't hurt you and only a select few have managed to dent that barrier. She doesn't want them to see - doesn't want them to see how jealous she gets when her friends make other friends, when girls talk to the boys she wants, when her father spends time with her other siblings. No, she will never be vulnerable. At least, that's what she tells herself.

After releasing Benji, Annelise preened at Lexi's compliment about her back to school party. She was glad. She had wanted it to be something everyone would talk about for the entire school year. She may go down in Constance history as the Ice Queen, but her parties would always be remembered. It was a somewhat depressing thought, however, that as a queen, she would be known for keeping her people in line but at also at a distance, but it was one that she was coming to accept. She was the way she was, no real excuses. And at this point, as a senior who could apply to mostly all of the best institutions in America and possibly overseas, she didn't want to make excuses. She would have liked for things to be different, to not be the one in her group who had the least amount of hook-ups or boyfriends, but Annelise knew herself too well. She just didn't trust herself with someone or someone with her.

Somehow in her musings, Benjamin no longer was by her side but being dragged by Alexandra into the writhing crowd and all Annelise could do was smile apologetically, wiggling her fingers as a parting. That left her and Cliff...alone. How the hell had she not noticed that? It was unnerving, really, not having Lexi around as a buffer - as a way to remind her that no, she was not supposed to be thinking about how gorgeous his face was or how she absolutely should not be glancing at his lips in any way, shape, or form. She had watched him get two drinks while she was still nursing her first and while Annelise Walton would never admit this aloud, she was...nervous. She noticed it in the way that while she wasn't messing with her hair - her typical tick - she was definitely twirling her straw in the alcoholic beverage she currently held. Her phone buzzed again and Annie didn't have the heart to answer it. It was probably a response from Logan or something, not like she cared. It was bad enough that she would have to deal with him tonight; she didn't need to waste any more time texting him.

She peeked at Cliff idly, taking a moment to analyze him. He was just as quiet as she was...could he have been just as nervous? Of course not, she mentally chided. You're the only one worried about something that isn't there. Sucking it up, Annelise ran an idle hand through her loose hair and turned to conjure up words when Cliff seemed speak up first. Not that she was complaining. A small smile formed her face at his comment about her party and a slight lift of the eyebrow signified her surprise by his...somewhat invitation to his party. Didn't he not want them there? At least, that was what she had thought when her informants told her of a party he hadn't been ready to tell the group about. Annelise, a second later, found herself way to distracted with his throat when he took a drink of the beer in his hand; she almost missed the compliment. However, when she did, she ended up doing something a bit...uncharacteristic, at least for her.

The second it registered that Cliff had said that she looked nice, she ducked her head for a moment longer than she would have wanted. The smile on her face, for just a moment, was a bit too wide - too elated. Get it together! She had to remind herself mentally. You are the Queen of Constance, not a thirteen year old virgin. She shot him a small smile, but even she could feel the shyness that crept onto her face. "Thanks. You don't look so bad yourself." It was pathetic that that was all she could offer, but Annelise managed to recover after it. "You should make sure that Lexi knows she's invited too, though. She was definitely not happy with you." She said the last part on a little grin, feeling a bit better. She didn't like nervousness or shyness. Annelise Walton didn't get shy or nervous for anyone. Her phone buzzed again and rolling her eyes, she finally glanced it. She firstly rolled her eyes at Logan's text and then frowned at Lexi's. She told herself that she should really be concerned about her best friend. At the same time, Lexi needed to get over Logan and his presence. He wasn't important anymore; he lost that chance. For now, Kenna and Kat probably had her.

Just as she was ready to tell Cliff about his best friend's presence, the devil himself appeared at the bar, ordering whatever it was he was going to order. Annelise rolled her eyes before acknowledging Logan's presence, walking a bit closer so that she wouldn't have to yell so loud over the music. Luckily, this song wasn't as rowdy as the others. "Well, if it isn't the former King of St. Jude's. I'm actually a bit surprised you showed up. Though I'm not surprised. What happened? Caught too many STDs for mommy and daddy to handle?"

Alexander nodded at Hana's explanation of her interactions with Annelise. That made sense. It hadn't been that he thought Hana unworthy to be in the Queen Bee's presence; Annelise wasn't that great. But he didn't think Annelise would have noticed how great Hana was without some other unforeseen circumstances and this one made sense. It didn't surprise him that Annelise was being nice to the girl, even though it did leave him wary of her intentions. He didn't always trust Annelise; she was always scheming, even when it didn't seem like she was.

"Annelise...has her moments," he began carefully, not wanting to talk the girl up too much but also not wanting to say anything wrong. Despite what the two would tell anyone, they had a sort of understanding of the other that went unspoken. They didn't acknowledge that in another life, it would have made them best friends or something, but it was definitely something that they both were aware of. And well, he really didn't like insulting her. It was always that she knew that he had or he just felt guilty afterwards. It was aggravating. "Ice Queen, yeah. She's definitely that. But she's not completely frozen over. She's actually a bit nicer than she likes to believe." He chuckled a bit at the thought before answering her question. "Our moms went to school together and Mom is the only one Alice Walton trusts to cook for her daughter. So, I'm usually at her place helping out." He didn't include the fact that they had mutual friends, didn't think it was that big of a deal. He also didn't want to think about the fact that he just really didn't want Hana to associate him with that rich side of the world they were in. As much as he pretended with his classmates, Lex liked to believe that he was still as humble as he had been before - that he didn't pretend to be just as cocky as them once the first day jitters went away.

Pretending was always easy.

Although he looked composed as he made his way through the club and towards the bar, he was second guessing his recent actions. Would it have been better to come on strong to Lexi? To show her that he was still down if she was? Or did he do the right thing by playing it cool and acting like he wasn't even flustered by seeing her again? When he considered that it wasn't like she was clasing after him wanting to talk, he decided that he made the right choice. For all he knew, she could have moved on by now. Hell, maybe she was even dating Benji, and a crowded and loud room wasn't the right place to reconnect, anyway.

It was probably evident that he was distracted, because when he got to the bar, he simply shot his order of a Jack & Coke neat to the bartender and didn't notice Annelise Walton and Cliff Parker standing only feet away. So, when Annelise spoke, he was actually surprised to hear her. Not that he should have been, considering that it was her party, but he had expected to come upon her before she to him. "I wouldn't say that's the reason, but let's be real here, A. I could catch every STD in the book and you, and every other girl in this city, would still want me." He looked past her almost immediately, but a devilish grin still found its way to his face. Logan was good at pushing people's buttons, and Annelise was one of his favorite to do it to. She was quick-witted and snarky - one of the few people who could match his banter, although he probably wouldn't give her that much credit.

When a glass was slid his way he nodded a 'thank you' to the bartender and instantly took a large sip of the drink. He hadn't drank for most of the summer, and although his school-year away was nothing close to sober, he had missed drinking for the past two months. Looking past Annelise now, he addressed Cliff. "Damn, Cliff. Don't tell me that the year I left was the year that you finally stopped being such a hermit. It's good to see you though, man." It was good to see him. Cliff was probably Logan's closest friend. They had grown up together and were like brothers, even if their virtues seemed to almost clash. As he took another sip of his drink, he noticed how irregular it was for Cliff and Annelise to be alone together. Granted, Annie and Cliff were in the same friend group, so they knew each other well enough, but what the hell did Cliff Parker have to say to Annelise that she would actually care about? And on the night she was hosting the kick-off party of the year? "So, what were you two chatting about before I graced you with my presence?" Annelise wasn't easily read but since Logan knew him so well, he could tell that something was off with Cliff. He studied his friend for a bit longer than Annelise, but decided to brush it off as him just have changing naturally over the year. If there was something more there, he would get it out of him though.

Annelise actually laughed a little at Logan's response, shaking her head amusedly. She had almost forgotten what it felt like to actually have someone that could possibly go head-to-head with her. She would never go so far as to say she missed Logan; that was like, if hell froze over and even Elsa couldn't melt it. However, it felt good and easy to banter with him. And that partly amused and pissed her off. She shouldn't have had to feel awkward or nervous with Cliff. Since when did she ever feel nervous around a guy? Annelise Walton was a motherfucking queen! No guy should have that much power over her and yet, she felt more comfortable and at ease being snarky with Logan Benson of all people?

Disgruntled, not by Logan's retort but by her own shortcomings, Annelise polished off her Long Island Iced Tea. Imperceptibly, she almost choked when Logan asked about the thing between her and Cliff. On one hand, she really didn't know. She had an almost inkling to the fact that maybe Cliff felt something akin to what she had been experiencing. On the other hand, she wanted to leave and be as far away from both guys as soon as possible. Logan, because she could probably catch an infection just by breathing in his general direction. And Cliff, because...Annelise Walton do didn't butterflies in her tummy. It felt too cliché and unfamiliar and...and...she just really needed to get away. However, the franticness in her heart did not match the rather coy smile on her face when she placed the lemon wedge from her glass between her plump lips and sucked the tart yet somewhat sweet liquid into her mouth. Pulling the wedge from her mouth, she gave Logan a deceptively sweet smile while answering, "Considering that it was a conversation between the two of us, I'm going to assume that it was none of your business." Nice with a bite of sarcasm, it left Annelise feeling like she was back on track and in control. She also decided to add as a parting, "And btw, me wanting you would mean that I found you attractive and you? You're just tall, slimy, and not even worth the calories I burn acknowledging your existence." Satisfied with how she ended that conversation (and yes, she ended it because once Annelise Walton was done conversing with you, she was done, end of story), she turned to Cliff and despite herself, her countenance softened and the corners of her mouth lifted slightly. It wasn't the same smile she had given him when he had complimented her, but it was one that left her feeling safe and no longer off kilter. "I, um, will see you later, Cliff." Setting her glass down on the bar, she traipsed away from the guys with her head held high and a sway in her hips that caught more than a few eyes as she moved through the crowd to find her friends.

Finally, she found them and snuck up behind Kat, wrapping her arms around the brunette's slim waist and grining at the others. She particularly looked at Alexandra and spoke over the music, "Remind me to send your ex a welcome home basket filled with poisonous gas. I've got enough pests and rodents around here."

Was it just the drinks, or did Logan Benson look even more delectable than he had a year ago? His hair, his eyes, his chiseled jawline... he was almost enchanting. Of course, most guys looked that way when Katherine was drinking and as soon as Logan suddenly dismissed himself, her thoughts returned to Josh, who she was nearly hanging onto. He was cute, definitely cute. Could he really compare to Logan, though? Katherine was probably one of the few girls at Constance Billard who hadn't slept with him and although she wasn't necessarily easy, Logan definitely would have been her type. Note that the key phrase there is would have, though. He was Lexi's ex and if there was one thing that Kat was proficient in, it was girl code. Sleeping with her best friend's ex would simply be unacceptable... at least if she was sober. Would it be that bad if she did it when she was drinking? She really did consider it for a second, but when Alexandra yanked her back to the dance floor with Benji, her conscious overpowered her drunk ambitions. She couldn't do that to Lexi.

Kat was virtually worry-free as she danced, which said a lot, considering that Lexi had brought Benji along. The many drinks had numbed any stress that Hana, her weight, and life in general, had brought on. She would feel it tomorrow, that was for sure, but for now, she was happy. When Lexi insisted that they leave the dance floor, Katherine didn't object. She managed to grab and down a shot of what she thought tasted like Malibu from a passing cocktail waitress' tray before catching up to Lexi.

She paused at Lexi's question, but only because she was struggling to stay focused on her friend with the music and flocks of people around them. The inquiry didn't really catch her off guard, since boys were one of the most frequent topics of conversation among the girls, but had she been asked it sober, she probably would have hesitated for better reason than just being distracted. "Well, you've basically claimed all of the good ones for yourself, so you can't blame us! You slept with Logan, you wanna sleep with Cliff and God forbid anyone sleeps with Lex!" she responded. Although she was smiling playfully and still in good spirits, she wasn't sure if Lexi would be offended by the comment. Kat struggled to censor herself without alcohol and with it, well, she was filter-less. It wasn't like she was making the statement up though. None of them could ever date Logan now, and the same seemed to go for Cliff, and she had shown how defensive she was about anyone possibly breaking Lex's heart with Kenna. The "drunk words are sober thoughts" phrase might have been too true here.

Annelise showed up at a good time, and upon her touch, Kat tilted her head back. It probably would have been a good enough reason for them to change the conversation, but Katherine didn't sense it. "Lex wants to know what guy you want to get with this year," she said, taking a seat on the booth across from Lexi and patting the empty space next to her, as if Annie wouldn't realize to sit with them. "And don't say Benji. He's annoying enough as just your friend, I don't need more of a reason to see his face." The happy-go-lucky drunk side of her was seeming to come and go tonight as it pleased, although there probably wasn't enough alcohol in the world to take the cattiness out of Kat.

Lexi rolled her eyes at Kat's drunkenness. " Kitty Kat, I think your drunk enough." She said soothingly petting her friends hair. She signaled a waitress. The girl came over and Lexi ordered two waters and a pear martini.

Once she had a water in front of Kat she continued their conversation. She counted out the guys. " I didn't just sleep with logan." She said defensively, " I loved him.". She stuck two fingers out " I've loved cliff my entire life." She stuck out a third finger, " And you can boink Cliffs brains out you just can't hurt him. To be completely honest I wouldn't care if you had a crush on him. I just feel like Kenna is bad for him"

Soon they were joined by Annie. Lexi scooted in closer to the booth and patted the seat next to her. " I know he's a prick but he's just so damn hot." She shrugged, " He's not a bad guy once you get to know him." She glanced at him and Cliff and bit her lip. She did not want Cliff and Logan together. " Shit I forgot they were friends."

Saying that sparked a light in her mind and she pushed Annie's arm, half playfully, but also half angrily. " By the way bestie a nice warning would have been lovely." She narrowed her eyes " Don't pretend like you don't know what I'm talking about either. I know that you knew he was coming back."

She looked back at the bar where he and Cliff stood. At one point they were her two favorite guys. She'd do anything for either of them. She truly loved them. She thought Logan caught her staring for a minute though so she averted her eyes. Lexi blushed. Since when did she avert her eyes. She pulled out her phone.

To:Logan
Sorry bout the bitchy treatment, but you should have warned me. I don't want things to be awkward or tense between us. So we need to talk. You don't have to do it right this second but you do have to do it.

Annelise smiled warmly at Katherine when the brunette tipped herself back. She could pretty much tell that her friend was wasted and shook her head in amusement. She raised an eyebrow at Alexandra about guys she could possibly be interested in and plopped herself in the seat beside her fellow blonde. When Lexi pushed her, Annelise only smiled, though she didn't look nor feel guilty. "One, if I haven't found any of these peasants worthy for boyfriend material yet, I hardly think it'll suddenly happen senior year." She glanced idly back to the bar where Logan and Cliff were still engaged in their conversation before twirling a strang of hair between her fingers. Annelise still didn't trust herself to admit to having a sort of crush on Cliff, not yet at least. And especially not now when Logan had just come back, this random Cavendish dude had just arrived, and it being the start of their senior year. Maybe a little later, maybe a different location. But definitely not now.

"I didn't tell you about Logan being back on purpose," she told Lexi, giving her a very firm stare. "Just like before, you justify his actions, even when it's obvious that he's being a douche. And sweetie, he did the worst thing by breaking your heart and no matter how much of a not bad guy he was behind closed doors, you are my best friend and I will never forgive him for that. You can, but I won't." Annelise crossed her legs idly, getting a water from one of the staff members and taking a sip of the cool liquid. She hadn't drunk nearly as much as either of her friends; to be completely honest, Annelise wasn't always a partier. She definitely favored more intimate settings, but she couldn't seem like an Ice Queen and a recluse. That was just a pathway to loserdom. She turned back to Alexandra and spoke seriously, "I'm not going to tell you what to do, but I didn't tell you about Logan because I didn't want you to think about him. Even now you're still sensitive to something as trivial as his presence. That there shows he has control over you and people don't have control unless you let them. And you're stronger and definitely worth more than whatever he thought you were when he left New York with his tail between his legs."

The club hadn't been the ideal space to give out lectures or even advice, but it had to be said. She didn't want Alexandra to be so affected by Logan's presence. His randomly appearing at a party, which he was bound to do as the year progressed, shouldn't have her sending SOS texts. And Annelise would be damned if her best friend continued. Logan and what he had with Lexi shouldn't affect the blonde beauty as much as it did. She just hoped Lexi understood that. Annelise glanced around them a bit before inquiring jestingly, "Don't tell me Kenna's already having a quickie in the bathroom or something?"

Even though Katherine had listed Lex as one of the guys that were off limits because of Lexi, she didn't actually want him. He was cute, but not her type, so him being freed up didn't help her in her quest for a guy to get with. It wasn't like she was madly in love with Cliff or Logan either, though. Logan was definitely her type in more ways than one, but even if she ever got drunk enough to go against the unwritten rules of friendship, Logan would never be more than just a fling for her. Besides his heavenly appearance, Cliff wasn't really her type either. He was deeper than your normal teenager and she was shallower. They were friends and that was probably where that would stay.

When Lexi admonished Annie about knowing about Logan's return but not mention it, she glanced in Annelise's direction. She was too drunk to really listen or care about the valid reasoning behind the secrecy, and found it amusing. In a reference to her earlier conversation with Annelise about Katherine's secrecy, she couldn't help but chime in. "Annie, this is a no-secret-zone ever!" she yelled playfully. When the water was placed in front of her, Katherine glanced at it for a moment. She was past her good-buzz level, and the night would probably be shorter than normal tonight, so she decided that it wouldn't hurt to dilute her alcohol-filled stomach.

She sipped the cool water slowly as the topic switched to Kenna. Their friend's whereabouts hadn't crossed Kat's mind all night, but since she hadn't seen her in a while, she honestly didn't doubt the 'quickie' theory. In addition to Kenna disappearing, Katherine also hadn't seen Hana all night. She didn't want to care about what Hana was doing, but part of her was curious. She secretly hoped that the girl had realized that she didn't belong here and had called Julian to take her home early. The hopeful thought diminished when she glanced a few booths past them and made out the back of Hana's head as she sat across from Lex. She set the water down, now deciding that it was probably time to go back to alcohol. She hated how she was letting Hana's mere presence bother her so much tonight, but she couldn't help it.

After eying the pear martini that Lexi had ordered with the waters, Katherine glanced over at her and pointed towards the drink. "Pretty please?" she asked with a giggle, batting her eyelashes dramatically. "But really, I think me and you will find someone tomorrow at Cliff's," she said, now looking at Annelise. It was true that Annelise's standards were very high, and in a different way than Katherine's shallow guidelines were. She wasn't going to settle for someone just because they were rich and handsome, but Katherine wondered if there would ever be anyone who would actually meet her friend's expectations. "His friends are hot, right Lex?"

Cliff Parker

Logan's unexpected arrival brought a variety of emotions to Cliff, but more than anything, he was just glad that his friend hadn't arrived minutes earlier. The last thing that he wanted was to be ridiculed by Logan over his attempt to flirt - or whatever he was doing - with Annelise. He didn't even want him to notice that he had any interest in her, so when Annelise left after going back and forth with Logan for a bit, he gave her an apologetic smile and wave.

Logan was one of Cliff's closest friends, and up until last year, he probably was the closest. The boys had been friends since they were toddlers and with neither having a biological brother, they became the closest thing to brothers that they would have. Throughout the years, Logan had always been the first to know (or more likely, notice) the few girls that Cliff had crushes on. He was probably the most knowledgeable person Cliff knew when it came to girls, but his advice didn't normally match Cliff's values. Logan was good at getting a girl's pants off and while Cliff liked sex as much as the next guy, he wasn't into the one-night stands that Logan had mastered. He was interested in knowing how to talk his way into getting a pretty girl to sleep with him if he didn't actually like more than her appearance. Maybe it was old-fashioned, but Cliff wanted to know the girl before he took it to that level.

Their approaches to girls were definitely different, but Cliff didn't judge Logan for his ways. He always seemed to have a good time and judging by the number of girls he could swoon with a few lame pickup lines, he had to be doing something right. The only thing that he had ever done to really piss Cliff off was what he had done to Lexi. Sleeping with Kenna was understandable - she was undeniably a very pretty girl. However, sleeping with Kenna while he was dating the Lexi, the girl who was like a sister to Cliff, was completely unacceptable. It was something that he would never be able to forget and although he had really tried, he doubted that he would be able to forgive Logan for it either.

When Logan had disappeared a year ago, Cliff was almost relieved. It was disappointing to see his best friend go, but he knew that with him gone, Lexi would be able to move on. It would take some time, and it did, but she would find some new guy who could actually treat her right. Even if she hadn't found a boyfriend, Cliff thought that she was doing well, especially compared to the wreck Logan had left her as a year ago. Now he was back, and Cliff wasn't going to let him screw her over again. Best friend or not, he wasn't going to hurt Lexi if Cliff had any say in it.

"What are you doing here?" he asked with a grin. Even with the rush of defensive thoughts clouding his mind, he was happy to see Logan. With Annelise out of sight, he felt himself loosen up too, which was relieving in an obvious sense, but also concerning since he didn't want to feel so frazzled around someone like her. "A heads-up text or something would've been nice, but I'm glad to see you too, man. Does everyone else know you're back yet?" He didn't want to directly ask if he'd seen Lexi yet, but he definitely wanted to know.

The cheeky grin remained on Logan's face as he didn't hide the fact that his eyes followed Annelise's body until she disappeared into the crowd. "Shit, she's even more of a catch than I remembered her to be." He turned back to Cliff who then asked why he was back and who he had already spoken to. Logan was good at reading people. It was something that worked to his benefit when he worked his magic on girls or got under people's skin. Now, he knew that Cliff didn't really care about "everyone else", but Alexandra. He was the only person, besides Kenna, who knew that he had cheated on Lexi and he been dramatically defensive about it. Clearly, he still was. Logan didn't want to address the subject though, especially if Cliff wasn't going to be brazen enough to just come out and ask about it. "I saw a few of the guys on my way in. Where the hell's Alex, though? I expected to see him with you." He gulped down his Jack & Coke as if it were a beer, before ordering a Budweiser. "Don't tell me Annelise has him working the kitchens at her parties now too. That dude is either seriously whipped, or broker than I thought."

He wasn't surprised when he saw that Lexi had texted him. He expected it, and kind of wanted her to reach out to him first. It showed that she still cared about and wanted him. Even after being away for a year, he hadn't lost his mojo. Bringing Lexi to a family dinner would surely get his parents off of his back, and he wouldn't be surprised if they missed having her around the house more than they missed him being there. She had become a part of the family and was one of the few girls that his parents ever approved of him being with.

Lexi frowned a bit as Annie bashed Logan. Even though he did break her heart she really had loved him. She might still love him. It wasn't that she didn't appreciate that Annie wanted to protect her, but she didn't want to be protected from him. She wished that everybody could just get over what happened so she could.

"I'm not going to tell you what to do, but I didn't tell you about Logan because I didn't want you to think about him. Even now you're still sensitive to something as trivial as his presence. That there shows he has control over you and people don't have control unless you let them. And you're stronger and definitely worth more than whatever he thought you were when he left New York with his tail between his legs." Annie had said. Lexi nodded thoughtfully while she sipped her martini. She ignored Kat's obvious attempts at getting to her drink. " You're already wasted why don't you just chill for a bit."

"Don't tell me Kenna's already having a quickie in the bathroom or something?" Lexi busted out laughing at Annie's complete disregard. Was it a bit catty? Yes. But that's how girls work. The love you giveth to one, you must taketh from another. That's how you kept the balance. It was just unfortunate for Kenna that typically she got the short end of the stick. " Eeew I hope not. It's only the back to school party. I hope she's not already hoeing around I mean seriously how more raunchy can you get you know?"

"But really, I think me and you will find someone tomorrow at Cliff's," Kat said breaking Lexi's train of thought. 'His friends are hot, right Lex?"

Lexi laughed. " They're models." She said with a nod " So I'd assume they're pretty attractive. Cliff doesn't really bring me around them though so I wouldn't entirely know. " She was going to say more but her phone began to buzz. She quickly opened up Logan's message.

She had to admit she wasn't surprised with his offer. Logan's family had always been kind and welcoming to her. Sometimes it seemed that they wanted her around too much. She was very much aware though that on a certain level they saw Lexi on an almost financial level. Lexi was an asset and they knew it very well.

To:Logan
Fine but your picking me up. I'm sure my father and mother would love for you to stop by. This doesn't mean I forgive you Logan. You messed up bad, don't forget that

Hana Lane

Hana was more interested than she appeared in Lex's connections with Annelise. The boy that she had met over the summer, the one who was friendly and humble trying to help his mother, wasn't the same person she expected to associate with Annelise Walton so nonchalantly. Over the past few months, Hana had been comforted by the idea that there was another person attending these posh schools who didn't fit the mold of the average student. She knew that Lex was probably better off than she had been at her family's worst, but he was most likely the closest person she would find to someone on her level. He was appealing, and in more ways than just his similar background. Now, he didn't seem quite as low key as he had before. Even if he brushed his time with Annelise off as just helping his mother cook for her, their connection seemed pretty heavy. Their mothers were childhood friends and clearly kept that bond alive into the present day. Lex had probably grown up knowing Annelise. Even if financially he shouldn't have been, he probably had found his way into their elite circle.

It definitely altered her perspective on him, but she tried to act like she wasn't looking too deeply into it. She was already out of her league by being at this party and her bias against the wealthy wasn't a good enough reason to suddenly declare that he was just as superficial as his peers. Besides, these upper class kids didn't actually seem as ruthless as she had thought them to be. Maybe she had been thinking too far into this all along.

Although she was enjoying the light conversation she was having with Lex, Hana was beginning to get antsy. As she had told Annelise earlier, this was the first real party like this that she had ever attended, and she wasn't sure what the etiquette for such was. The first day of classes would be starting tomorrow and Hana wasn't nearly as prepared as she wanted to be. Not only did she need to pick out another uniform outfit (which she was now beginning to think needed to be more fancy than the basics), but she needed to make sure that all of her books and supplies were in order. Even though she was enjoying this unexpected social life, she still valued her academics. They were the only thing that she had to hold onto for so many years and she couldn't throw them out the window now. She imagined that the party had to end within the next hour or two anyway. Did these kids really spend school nights partying without a second thought?

"I think I should go find Katherine. God only knows what she's gotten herself into," Hana said with a quiet laugh. Was it rude to just get up and leave him? She hoped not. He clearly had other friends and just as she had doubted herself earlier with Annelise, she considered that he might have been relieved that she was leaving so he could finally go hang out with his real friends. "Maybe I'll see you this weekend or something?" she said, asking it in a way that it was an open-ended question, but slipping away from their seats before he answered.

She had texted Julian to come a few minutes prior, and figured that she might as well see if Katherine was ready to go too. It took her a good fifteen minutes of searching the establishment before she finally spotted her seated in a lounge area with Annelise and Lexi. Even after a night of drinking and dancing, the three were still flawless looking. She hated to admit it, but she was beginning to understand why so many of their peers idolized these girls - or at least Annelise and Alexandra. Katherine fit the bill of a gorgeous heiress but was certainly less enticing after living with her for, well, more than a day.

She approached the three cautiously, not wanting to intrude on their conversation, and waited for them to fall quiet before interjecting. "Hey guys, my ride is here so I think I'm going to head home." Probably a poor reason, considering that her "ride" was a paid chaueffer who would've picked her up at 3 AM if he had to, and not some soccer mom beeping the horn waiting for her. "But I had a lot of fun tonight, so thanks again for letting me get ready with you guys, and for letting me wear your dress, Annelise." She was sincere about that. Tonight had went one hundred times better than she expected it to, and had it not been for the kindness of Lexi, Kenna and mostly Annelise to buffer Katherine's attitude, it surely would have tanked. "Katherine, do you... are you ready to go?" she then asked. While she was speaking to Katherine, she was directing the question more towards the other girls. Hana knew what a drunk Katherine looked and sounded like, and she assumed that was the case tonight, but guessed that her friends would know better if she should come home now or not. However, even if they were the ones to encourage her to go home now, she was sure she would still be blamed for ruining the night tomorrow.

The promise of an open bar was the only reason why Kasey attended Annelise's party. She hated the hostess and her friends, and honestly, she wasn't going out of her way to make friends with the majority of the other party goers. Nearly all of them worshiped the popular girls and anyone who was blind enough to play into that trap was useless to her. She wanted nothing to do with them. For the past few years, she had had Cole as her best friend anyway, so it wasn't like she needed to reach out and make new friends. Now that he was dating Maria, Kasey was realizing that he couldn't be at her beck and call as much as she wanted. Her own relationship with Cole was strictly platonic, so it wasn't that she was jealous of how he acted with Maria, but she did sort of resent the fact that he was able to make relationships so freely. He was so open and easy going that emotional walls seemed nonexistent in his life. This was quite contrasting compared to Kasey.

She spent the majority of the party seated in one of the lounge nooks, alternating between socializing with Cole and Aria and a group of three girls that she could tolerate from her past year's English class. "Tolerate" was seeming to become a stretch, too, because as each word came out of the girls' mouths, Kasey's eyes searched a bit more frantically for Cole and Maria.

"Did you see Annelise's dress?" one of the girls chirped as shifted her position on the couch so she was leaning in towards them. Kasey didn't answer, and her lack of eye contact probably showed her disinterest.

"The back of it is gorgeous.. like to-die-for gorgeous," another one gushed.

"I know, I don't see how she'll be able to top that," the third jumped in. With each word, Kasey's patience slipped away. "And did you see Kenna Valoir's? It had to cost a fortune!" Without waiting for the other girls to agree, which they most certainly would, Kasey stood up and walked away. No explanation, no goodbye. She just left. They would probably be too busy gossiping about the girls or drunk to take offense to it, anyway.

It didn't take long for her to spot Cole, leaning against the bar with Aria at his side. The pair had spent most of their evening dancing, with an occasional break here and there to catch their breath and chat with Kasey. Cole felt the tension between Maria and Kasey (although the animosity pretty much only came from Kasey), so he did his best to keep them separated, while not ignoring either of them. Even if he knew that Kasey would be less than satisfied with how much time he had been dedicating to Maria, he didn't care very much. He had had a great evening so far with Maria and knew that even if he had spent more time with Kasey, she would still be complaining.

"I didn't know that you could dance like that!" he laughed as he and Maria settled down by the bar. "Do you want something to drink?" He knew that she was an experienced wine drinker, which was expected considering her family's legacy, but they weren't the type of people to go barhopping enough for him to know what she would order besides wine. He himself was never a huge partier. He preferred more intimate gatherings but an occasional big party didn't do him any harm. Besides, he knew by now that in the Upper East Side, almost every event was done big, so it was something he was used to.

Kasey had ordered a cosmopolitan and after receiving it, approached the pair. She looked Maria up and down, as if it was the first time she had seen her all night, and then relaxed her gaze. "I can't stand any of these dumb bimbos," she stated bitterly as she sipped her cocktail.

"We can always count on you to bring a little bit of sunshine to our conversation," Cole joked. "You just need to lighten up a little bit! Ari, have you ever had a problem with Annelise or any of those girls? He doubted she would have. Maria was the sweetest girl he had ever met. She was the type of girl who didn't seem to have a bad bone in her. It was certainly a breath of fresh air for Cole, who was so used to Kasey's negativity.

Lexi responded to his text quickly and suddenly, Logan didn't want to wait until tomorrow to see her. Part of him still didn't want to seem like he really wanted Lexi, and part of him didn't want to want her at all anymore. He clearly hadn't been satisfied with her when they were dating and although he had matured since then, he never wanted to cheat on her again. She didn't deserve that. Maybe it would be better if they just took things slow and figured out where they stood once they got reacquainted. Still, he couldn't get the image of that plunging white dress and her perfect body out of his mind. She had been his girl once and now he was realizing how lucky he had been.

To: Alexandra
We don't have to wait til tomorrow... I want to be with you tn Lex.

If Cliff was talking, Logan wasn't paying attention to him. As glad as he was to be seeing his friend for the first time in months, he wasn't ready to focus on catching up with him. Mostly, he knew that if Cliff caught wind of his reignited interest in Lexi, he'd be a buzz kill and try to squash the idea before it happened. Cliff was always sensible and usually right, but Logan didn't want to hear about his logical reasoning right now. Whether it was love or just lust, he wanted Lexi.

To: Alexandra
Kat will give us the key to one of the rooms at one of her dad's hotels. Or ask Annelise if we can chill at her place tn I wanna be with you away from all these people. I missed you.

It was definitely a change from how he had interacted with her just minutes before, but there was no use in pretending to be uninterested when there was so much history between them. History that was unfinished, to say the least. Plus, Logan was the master of hookups. Who was to say that he couldn't be with Lexi for one night and still keep his feelings for her to a low?

Katherine frowned slightly when Alexandra dismissed her request for her drink. She briefly scanned their surroundings for the waitress that had brought the drinks over moments before, but it was to no avail. She idly ran her fingers through her hair but perked up when Lexi confirmed that Cliff's friends had to be attractive, considering their careers. When she followed up with how Cliff never brought his friends around her, it reminded her of how Lexi had never brought up the party in the first place. It was her own father who had given her the in on the fact that the party was even happening, which Kat realized was pretty embarrassing. She also considered that maybe Lexi had known though, and just wanted to go alone. There would be no good reason for that, since the girls always went to parties together, but maybe she wanted to devote all of her attention to Cliff tomorrow. "So we're going, right?" she asked the two, although she had turned her gaze to Annelise now. Annelise didn't control any of the other three girls, but Katherine was used to her making the decision on things like this.

Hana approached discreetly and did nothing wrong, but Katherine looked daggers at her. Did she have to be so annoying? No one wanted her here and after a good start to the party, she had to come and remind everyone of her unnecessary presence. Hana was new to their world and how things worked, but unless one of her old weird friends had shown up to pick her up, she had called Julian and told him to come. Who did she think she was fooling acting like she had to leave and wasn't choosing to? Katherine wanted to call her out on it and with the liquor in her veins, was close to doing so. However, she held her tongue. She had insisted to Annelise that she was trying to be nice to Hana at her father's request and wasn't going to make a big scene at the party. "No, I'm not ready to go yet," she responded calmly, although the way she shooed her away with her hand probably wasn't as cordial.

She hoped that Hana would take the hint and leave, but if she hadn't, Katherine wasn't paying attention. She had turned back to the girls and now addressed Lexi. "I think you should make tomorrow the night for you and Cliff. His parents won't be home and you've been crushing on him way too long to keep waiting." In case Hana was still hovering, she leaned in closer now. It was probably unnecessary since the music was loud enough to block out most sounds, though. "Plus, you wanna show Logan you've moved on to bigger and better guys," she giggled.

Lexi frowned a bit when Hana announced she was leaving. " Already?" She said cocking her head to the side, " Well I hope you had fun." She added with a smile. She wasn't exactly surprised that Hana was leaving early. The girl didn't seem like the club type. Though Lexi had to say, she was a pretty nice girl. Maybe that made her a bad friend to Kat, but she felt no need to be rude to the girl. If Kat could see past her angry haze she might like the girl too.

Lexi pulled out her card. Yes, she had a card. It was for the very rare times she gave in and modeled for people. She personally thought it was ridiculous but she always had eight in her wallet at all times. Smiling, she handed it to the girl, " Text when you get home so I know you got in safe."

As Hana was asking Kat if she was ready to go Lexi saw her phone's screen light up. When she opened it she saw it was a text from Logan. Her eyes widened as she read the text. Was he serious? Did he seriously think he could have a quickie with her? Another text popped up before she could respond. Not only did he want a quickie but he wanted them to fucking sneak around at one of Kat's hotels or Annie's house.

To:Logan
Wow babe you went from not wanting to give me the time of day, to wanting to take me home to your parents, and now you want a quickie. News flash maybe you changed at your prep school with your prep school bitches but I stayed the same. I'm the same girl that you fucked over and because of that I'm not going to let you do it again. Really Logan a quickie? That's low even for you. I'm sure there is loads of girls would be interested but I'm not one of them.

Thoroughly satisfied she focused on her girls. Kat was already making plans for her and Cliff. She ran a hand through her hair and gave them a shaky smile. " I don't feel well I'll be right back." She said abruptly. She headed to the lounged in the back, managing to keep her head high and seem composed as she walked past Logan and cliff at the bar. The lounges in the back were super exclusive. They had dark colors and this light hazy blue hue inside. She dropped onto one of the couches and tipped her head back. " Why did he come back?" She said aloud to nobody in particular.

Annelise laughed a little more at the expression on Lexie's face at her inquiry about Kenna. It still was mean, the way she treated the fourth wheel of their group. However, that was exactly how Annelise saw her - a fourth and, sadly, unnecessary wheel. Perhaps it was because of the underlying rivalry between them, or maybe even because of the relationship forming between their parents - Annelise didn't care to know. What she did know was that the girl was always the one who ended up sleeping with someone. She wouldn't even be surprised if her interest in Lex now was simply because she had already fucked both Cliff and Logan.

She had to fight to put the smile on her face when Katherine's drunken optimism shone through. Would there possibly be a guy at the party for Katherine? Annelise didn't doubt that. In fact, there were probably a lot of guys at St. Jude's that Katherine could have had and didn't because of her desire for men of her status. Which was always an amusing thing to Annelise, but Katherine was too darling for her to judge. It didn't stop her, however, from going back to contemplating her own life. Would there be a guy at the party for her? Maybe. After all, there had been plenty potential guys who wanted to wine and dine Annelise Walton. A lucky few might have gotten the opportunity to be more than friends, but even less have actually obtained the role of her 'Prince Consort' or whatever the other students would call her significant other. She wasn't going to the party to make out with some hot model, not that she would turn him down if he came correctly. Maybe her standards were too high, she didn't know. What she was aware of was that she needed another drink soon.

"We'll see," she told Kat before Hana came into her peripheral. Luckily, the new girl served as a good distraction for Annelise's smile was definitely a bit wider as she acknowledged the girl's presence. She didn't have it in her to feign surprise at Hana wanting to leave; she hadn't looked like the party type in the first place. Sensing the obviously dark aura exuding off of Katherine, she placed a warning hand over her friend's before speaking to Hana, "Don't worry about Kat. If she's not home sooner or later, she's probably staying at my place. Get back safely.". It was after this exchange that Annelise caught on to what Lexie was going through. Her best friend's countenance went through a myriad of emotions before settling on a particularly displeased one, though that wasn't what she voiced. Annelise discreetly tilted her head curiously at Lexie's face, but the blonde must not have wanted to talk because she was excusing herself too soon to get an inquiry. Annelise narrowed her eyes somewhat before ushering one of the workers over.

"Two tequila sunrises," she said with a carefully constructed stoic face, not offering the woman another glance as her gaze remained locked on the direction Alexandra had disappeared to. Regardless of what Lexie had to say about the manner, whatever this was was obviously about Logan and that just wouldn't do. This was their senior year and it damn sure wasn't going to be ruined by some piece of trash rich kid whose only saving grace was the amazing sister whom Annelise respected. It didn't take long for her and Katherine's drinks to come to them and she gestured to Katherine when the waitress tried to set the second glance in front of her. She smirked at Katherine's giddy expression while saying, "Never say I didn't give you anything."

For the first few minutes in their search for this mystery girl, Cliff didn't seem to have any idea of where he was going. Logan used the time to pump himself up, but he didn't need too much time to prepare. It wasn't like there hadn't been any girls in Connecticut for him to keep his game up with. Even if he was still confident in himself, things were different in New York. The girls, the expectations... being surrounded by the kids he grew up with meant that people knew what he was about. Although he definitely did go for girls his own age, it was usually the younger girls who were easier to prey upon. They took his word as being genuine and had no reason to believe otherwise. New girls were an almost easier score, because not only were they unaware of his reputation, but they usually desperately wanted to fit in.

Probably by chance, Cliff seemed to spot Hana on the stairs, as if she were exiting the party. His charade of pretending not to know whether Logan had gotten a chance to meet her yet was decent... for Cliff, but she took the bait and stepped back downstairs. Thankfully, Cliff disappeared just then too. Most people would have preferred to have a wing man in a situation like this, but Logan felt better solo. If anything, Cliff would weigh him down.

"I don't know how I could have missed someone as gorgeous as you when I came in here," he said, offering her a friendly, but innocent smile. He was going to come on strong at some point, but not yet. "I'm Logan, and word on the street says that you're a part of the Quinn clan now? How'd that happen?" He knew that it was good to let girls talk. They liked to feel important, like someone really cared about the pointless stuff they had to say, and sometimes, he guessed that they just liked to hear their own voices. He didn't mind, though, as long as by the end of the night, those voices were screaming out his name in bed. Besides, he hoped that she really was a Quinn. If Lexi didn't want to take advantage of Katherine's plethora of hotel rooms, Hana would surely have access to them too.

In a fluid and natural motion, he took her hand in his and gently led her up the stairs that she had been headed up already. If he was going to go for it, it had to be now. He couldn't risk waiting and letting Annelise spot them and try to come to Hana's rescue. Plus, even though he was annoyed at Lexi for not being as willing as he imagined she would be, he didn't want her to witness him coercing another girl to be her replacement for the night. "Let's get out of here. It's too loud to talk, and I want to get to know you. There's an awesome pizza place around the block that's open all night. You hungry?" he asked, cocking his head back towards her as he led her out of elmo. His confidence probably made the whole thing seem more normal, but he hoped that Hana was going for it. She didn't seem intoxicated and that too, was usually a key factor in things working out for him. However, his charm was invincible, drunk or not. At least he thought so.

Hana finally left them alone. Thank God. She wanted to snap at Lexi and Annelise for being more than polite to Hana, but Annelise as she tried to conjure a negative comment, Annelise rested a hand on hers. It was a signal to keep her mouth shut, to play nice, and she did the first of the two, at least.

When Hana had definitely left their booth, Katherine was sure the night could only get better. They needed to find Kenna at some point, but if she was having a quickie, as Annie had suggested, she was probably having a good time on her own. The only thing that would suffer would be her reputation the next morning, depending on who the lucky guy was. When Lexi said something about not feeling well and abruptly left her and Annelise, Katherine frowned. She wasn't in the state of mind to piece together how upset and frazzled her friend probably was now that Logan was suddenly back, and came to her own conclusion. Not good. I knew I should have taken that pear martini from her. Some people just can't hold their liquor. It was ironic, considering that she would probably be that person the next morning, but for now she was still ready for a few more drinks.

"Do you think we should go help her?" Katherine asked Annelise. She wasn't worried, and her tone probably suggested that, but even drunk, she still felt like it was necessary to say in order to look like a good friend. However, when a tequila sunrise was set in front of her, any thoughts she had on Lexi's problem had disappeared. "Have I told you lately how much I love you?" Katherine responded to Annie with a laugh. She was back in party mode and her facial expression showed it. Hana was gone and a drink was in her hand. Nothing could bring this night down.

She brushed a strand of hair behind her ear as she quickly picked up the glass and sipped it. "I think they watered these down a lot. I can't taste any tequila in here," she commented, using the thin straw to stir the drink a bit. She was just too used to the sharp sting of the alcohol tonight, and the fruity mixers probably helped mask it too. These bartenders surely knew better than to water down the drinks, especially when it was Annelise Walton placing the order, anyway.

Hana Lane

How in the world had this happened? Hana had went from being a nobody, or maybe even worse than a nobody, yesterday, to being escorted out of Annelise Walton's party by a devilishly handsome boy today. Was it possible that being associated with Annelise and her clique had enough importance to suddenly make her this much more attractive? Was it the dress? The link to Katherine's family? Something had clearly upped her level of attraction, and although she wasn't complaining, she almost wished some of her old friends were there to witness her leaving the party with Logan.

She blushed at his compliment but didn't respond. She couldn't think straight, and especially not when he took her hand into his. He was, without a doubt, attractive, but so was Lex and their friend Cliff. What made Logan so different from them? Perhaps it was his assertiveness and the way he acted so comfortable around her. There was no awkward introduction or forced small talk and things felt natural. It was probably too good to be true, and somewhere in the back of Hana's mind, she knew that, but she had already abandoned her comfort zone for tonight. For the first time in her life, she was being spontaneous and she wasn't going to stop now. Besides, if she hung out with this boy tonight, she would have something interesting to talk about with Annelise and the girls if she ever happened to be invited out by them again. All afternoon, they had talked about boys and parties and clothes, and since Hana wasn't very interested in the last two, hopefully Logan would provide her with an interesting-enough story to share.

It was only when they were on their way out, that she collected herself enough to finally answer him. "Sure, I'll get pizza," she agreed. She wasn't hungry, but she wasn't going to reject an invitation from him, and especially not now, when they were already stepping outside. "And my sister married Katherine's father, so technically I guess she's like my... step-niece? But we're more like step-sisters, obviously," she said with a small laugh, touching on his earlier question. She didn't want to talk about Katherine now, but her name made Hana wonder why she hadn't heard Logan's name all day in their conversations. He was definitely handsome and charming enough to be on the level of those girls, and since Hana had no idea of his connection to Lexi, or that he had been gone for a year, she supposed that he must not have been wealthy enough for them, or something along those shallow lines.

The night air was brisk, and stepping out into it after being in the warm club sent chills down her spine. She glanced over at Logan, taking her time to admire his features, and eventually pulling her gaze away so not to gawk. "So, I know your name, but that's about it. Are you good friends with Annelise, or something?"

This looked like it was going to be easier than Logan thought. She didn't seem to be skeptical of his intentions and was already on board with getting food. If he decided to change the plans up a bit, he doubted she would care. However, he needed to play along for a little bit longer. He kept eye contact with her as she explained her connection to the Quinn's, and then asked about him. He gave her a disarming smile as he tried to think of the right way to put it. He had been too busy texting Lexi earlier to hear Cliff's remark about her suddenly becoming friends with Annelise, but he did sense that Hana and Katherine weren't very close. The way that she had described their relationship as being step-sister like didn't seem very genuine.

"Props for you for being able to live with Kat for more than a day," he chuckled. "I mean, I love that girl, I grew up with her, but God, can she be high-maintenance." He wanted it to seem like he was close with Katherine's family so Hana felt like he was less of a stranger. Plus, if she really didn't like Katherine, him casually throwing in his own dig at her could only help his cause. "Wait, didn't Alexandre just buy The Mark hotel down by Central Park?" he asked as he stepped off of the curb and hailed a cab. "Why don't we just grab some food at the restaurant there? I heard the burgers there are sick." Of course he had bigger plans for their night at the hotel, but easing his way in with just wanting to eat at the hotel's restaurant would seem harmless enough for now.

Taking a cab was definitely less than romantic, but he opened the door for her and allowed her to slide in before getting in himself. He didn't want to wait for a driver to come pick them up, especially with Annelise and Alexandra feet away in elmo. All he needed was for one of them to come out to ruin his night. The cab pulled off, and it looked like the stars were aligning for Logan tonight. "And about me? Hmm... there's not much to know. I spent the summer in Costa Rica teaching kids English, and I swim for St. Jude's team, so that's kind of my life right now." Logan could have went on for hours boasting about how he could get into any club in the city, about his father's cruise line and how he was set for life, and how he could have had any girl at that party, but he read Hana well enough to guess she wasn't into that. She seemed like the girl who liked the good guys, and a boy who dedicated a summer to community service and was dedicated to a sport had to be her type. "Me and Annelise are good friends. She's a nice girl, but if you ask me, I think she's kind of overrated. That whole scene is, you know? Sometimes I just want to be able to chill with a girl who isn't obsessed with how she looks or what people think of her." Again, it was more of what he thought she wanted to hear than what he really felt.
