a character in “The War of Celandine”, as played by Shaodow

Description

Amond seleem
Image

Race: Human

Age: 29

Personality: Amond is a shell of his former self, he has become a cold loner who only thinks of revenge. He isn't much of a talker, unless he feels something is important enough to really respond to it with words he will just respond with a series of grunts, maybe a shrug or two. one would say he hasn't got much of a personality left at all, before he was a content and cheerful man who was proud of his little brother who went on to accomplish what he dreamed about since he was a boy.

Rank: Peasant

Weapons: Image

Opinion on the war: To hell with the war, to hell with every one

History/Bio: Amond was just fine living a quite life of a farmer unlike his brother who trained tirelessly to become a knight to fight for the human race, Amond's work as a farmer strengthened his body which allowed him the fitness to train with a bow, though he never intended to use the skill to fight in the war, his father was hunter and he admired his father's skill with a bow since he was a boy long before his younger brother was born. Not long ago at all his brother was slain by an arrow that belonged to an elf who invaded their fair city, ever since that day he was a changed man. He still had no intentions of joining the army, no, taking part in the very war that took his brother's life so soon after achieving his long dreamed about goal was something he would not do. Instead Amond took his father's old light armor and bow and abandoned the walls of the city, h was fully aware it was very likely he would be killed before he could do any real damage to the elves once he arrived at his ultimate destination, the silverwood forest.

So begins...

Amond had stolen a hoarse on his way out of the human capital, he figured he would make better time that way as opposed to going on foot and he was right, it took him nearly a week to make it to the great river so who knows just how long it would have taken him on foot. He dismounted his tired steed near the river to let it drink and he would send it on it's way back to Erandor, from here on out he would be going on foot.

He detached his pouch from the saddle of the steed as well as his long bow and arrows and strapped the quiver to his back, in truth he had no idea were he was going once he crossed the Great river and it really didn't matter to him, he knew that all he had to do was walk and keep walking and he would locate the elves sooner or later and when he did there would be no mercy, he was out for blood and he would find it one way or another. He knew of the great life spans of elves but he also knew they were not immortal, that an arrow through the skull would drop any one of them just like they would a human, just like it did to his brother.

It would be foolish however to try and simply swim across the river as he would most likely be swept away by the current and drown before he even made it to the silverwood forest, no, instead he would pull one of the arrows from his quiver and loaded one of the larger arrows it held. he got down on one knee and pulled back the arrow as far he could, letting the tension build up to a point were it seemed the bow just might snap and finally released it, the arrow whizzed through the air at incredible speed with a light but strong rope connected to it's end. The arrow hit it's mark with deadly accuracy, an elf probably out here to patrol the borders to spot enemies and unfortunately for him he chose to take a break under a tree at the wrong time, the arrow flew right into his eye sockets and out the back of his head to embed it's self in the tree trunk as it exited the elf's skull. " one down " he muttered, killing two birds with one stone some would say because now the rope attached to the end of the arrow now provided him something to hold onto to keep from being swept away by the current when he crossed the Great river.

Amond took up his end of the rope and lowered himself into the water slowly as to not make a splash, he knew if there was one out here patrolling then there would surly be others, once he managed to pull himself across he pulled himself out just as carefully as he had gotten in. Once he emerged from the river he looked left first, then right, and continued north bound seeing that the cost was clear for now, he also made sure to retrieve the large arrow from the skull and tree and place it back in his quiver.

Amond crept through the forest looking left in right every few steps to make sure he wouldn't be walking right into the path of any oncoming patrols, even so he was not prepared for the incoming assault. An elvish woman popped out of the bushes to his near left, his initial reaction was to go for an arrow to load his bow but he never got the chance.

His body was rocked by the elf and even though she had a small frame her rage gave her enough strength to send him sprawling to the ground and his bow flying from his hand, he struggled to be the one to come out on top but that did not quite work out like he hoped as he found he was beneath a woman punching, screaming and clawing at his face. After the first few punches and scratches his arms were up to take the rest of the damage, he would then use size to his advantage as he grabbed her wrist and sit up with as much force as he could muster to throw the elf off of him. He rolled over on his stomach quickly and stood to his feet.

He could feel a warm stream of blood run down his from his nose over his upper lip and his face stung from the several scratches she inflicted him with, he said nothing as he ran at her just as she would be standing to her feet to land a hard kick to her gut that would send her back to the ground, unlike her he was not in a rage and fully intended to take his time beating and breaking the woman before he killed her.

"Arlathina!" Yuhra leaped from the water and brought her knives into the air, keeping them a few feet ahead of her. She ran as quickly as she could to the scene of combat. She positioned her knives all directly behind the human's neck, one of them very slightly pricking the back of his neck. "Halt, in the name of Queen Vanira. How dare you be so bold as to not only just trespass onto the Silverwood Forests, but to Assault one of the Queen's Handmaidens in the presence of a general! I could kill you now, but I've decided to let you go this time. You should be grateful to still have your head attached." Quartum was going to try and use her authority and her steep advantage over the man to force him to leave. She didn't intend on killing him, though it may become necessary.

"Arlathina, are you alright?" She called to the enraged elven woman in front of them.

Soon the rage that had fueled me ran out, and my strength began to fleet with it. He threw me off of him, where a stone hit my back. The pain sent a dull ache through my body, and I slowly tried to raise myself to my feet. My fingers grasped for my bow, but the man ran towards gave me and gave me a fierce punt in the stomach before I could reach it. I felt bile rise in my throat as he kicked, I swallowed it back down.

Luckily, Yuhra came crashing out of the trees with her knives raised she manipulated one to land near the man's back.

"Halt, in the name of Queen Vanira. How dare you be so bold as to not only just trespass onto the Silverwood Forests, but to Assault one of the Queen's Handmaidens in the presence of a general! I could kill you now, but I've decided to let you go this time. You should be grateful to still have your head attached." I almost began to laugh. So formal, even in war. "Arlathina, are you alright?" She asked in a sincere tone.

After a fit of coughing I could finally answer back. "I'm fine, this Nardohuan kicked me!" Cowardly dog. I picked myself up off the ground and pulled my bow off my back. I aimed my bow at the man, and for the first time I noticed that he looked exactly like the blonde youth I had murdered in Erandor. "I... I know you! You had family in Erandor didn't you! That was until an arrow tore out his throat. Am I right?!" I began to laugh, as I saw rage contort the man's face into an ugly mask.

By now a battalion of Elven Soldiers had arrived and restrained the man. They looked at Commander Quartam, waiting for her command.

He was ready to deliver more punishing blows to the elf but just as he cocked his large right hook back he felt a slight pain as a blade grazed the back of his neck and he froze.

"Halt, in the name of Queen Vanira. How dare you be so bold as to not only just trespass onto the Silverwood Forests, but to Assault one of the Queen's Handmaidens in the presence of a general! I could kill you now, but I've decided to let you go this time. You should be grateful to still have your head attached." he lowered his arms in a submissive way, he was still itching to tear into the elf before him but they now had the upper hand and he knew it "Arlathina, are you alright?" he heard the second elf, another female he figured by the sound of her voice.

"I'm fine, this Nardohuan kicked me!" he spat on the ground near her, though he did not understand what she had called him he could tell it had to be an insult. He was about to raise his hands again but in a submissive fashion of one prepared to be taken prisoner as she aimed her bow at him, but then she said those words, the words that struck a cord deep inside the man that unleashed an animal like rage in him. "I... I know you! You had family in Erandor didn't you! That was until an arrow tore out his throat. Am I right?!" Before he could even make a move he found himself surround by elven soldiers, reason would tell him to stand down but he was beyond that and in a blind rage he lashed out at the first soldier to close in on him. He knocked him to the ground with a right hook, then followed up with a heavy elbow to the face of another who approached him from behind and for a second he felt as though he could fight his way through them all, but naturally numbers prevailed and they were all upon him restraining his arms. His eyes fixed right on the female elf " Kill me now if you know whats good for you! " he shouted, breaking his silence at last as he struggled to break free of them with no such luck " if not I swear I will kill you, i swear it ! You will taste fear, and learn the pain of death

"No, that would be mercy." I looked at him with a cold glare. "These were your brother's very words. Everyone must make sacrifices in this war, even I have lost people to this. My mother was torn away from not too long ago, and until now I haven't had anyone to share that pain with. Though you will be the exception. It is someone elses turn to feel their whole world collapse in upon itself. Most of all though, you will be my personal servant. As a direct descendant of Dalisia I have the right to revoke the Erandor Concordat, and I state that from this day Elves will once again rule Celandine with an iron fist!" The soldiers began to cheer and shout with the frenzied look of a pack of wild wolves. They shook the Human roughly, but his gaze remained fixed on me with a uncomfortable intensity. I looked at the soldiers. "Bring him back to my tent and chain him to floor. Feed him only minor rations, and do not speak to him no matter how much he prompts you." I walked forward to the Human and slapped him across the face. "Be happy, your making history." The soldiers happily obliged they lead him back into the forest towards my tent. I walked forward to Yuhra.

"Let us leave Commander, I hope you do not find fault with my actions." Yuhra and I walked off together, and the last thing I heard was the Human's piercing cries.

(With Shaowdow's permission I want Arlathina to end up becoming friends with the Human and then she takes back what she said about the Erandor Concordat, and then she negotiates peace with the Human King. Just so you all see where I'm going with this.)

Amond's eye shot open as he awoke with a start, attempting to throw fist to take down an elf who he had been locked in combat with in his dreams but his arms didn't go very far before they met resistance that restrained his movements. He looked down at his hands to find that his wrist were shackled and bleeding slightly from the cold metal grinding against his skin, he hopelessly tugged on them a few times to test their fortitude only to quickly accept that escape through means of brute force was simply not possible in his weakened state.

He looked around to get his baring and when his blurry vision finally cleared he was surprised to find that he was in a tent of some sort " what is this..." he asked himself, just then recollections of the events leading up to his capture came rushing to the surface of his mind " It is someone elses turn to feel their whole world collapse in upon itself. Most of all though, you will be my personal servant " the female elf's voice rang through his head and he cursed himself internally for allowing the elves to get a jump on him like they did. Now he was beaten, dirty and in rags, though this state was not one he was unfamiliar with coming from a life as a farmer.

What ever insanity gave the elf the idea that he would actually cooperate and serve her, he fully intended to strike the very moment he got the chance to put an in the elf bitch's life and as many of her brotheren as he could. His blond hair was matted to his face by a mixture of sweat and dried blood so it was hard to see but he wore a deep scowl on his face, his expression would likely be locked that way for the next day or two for he felt no grief, or any feeling of overwhelming misfortune, all h felt was anger and a hunger for revenge.

I had heard the news in a matter of hours. A daughter of House Dalisia had revoked The Erandor Concordat. Feelings among Isteria were mixed at best. Some argued that this was morally wrong, while others pointed out that we are at war with the Humans, so why not? Although all of that didn't matter to me, only to my Father who handled House Dalisia's reputation. I had to speak to my sister at once. It wasn't long until I arrived at the military camp. Things around camp were largely the same, the soldiers still peered out into the horizon searching for the faintest sign of enemies. Fleeing villagers or trails of smoke I would guess.

When I arrived at my sisters tent she was nowhere to be found, but in her place was a blonde human man. I gazed at him in astonishment. The first human slave in two eras. It was monumentous and disgusting at the same time. He was sleeping, so I grabbed my sisters comb and poked him squarely in the chest. He awoke to reveal startling blue eyes. He looked at me with a savage anger, and for a second I thought he might break the chains that bound him though he just sat.

"Ehm! Hello human." I said in a regal voice. I didn't wanna appear weak in front of a Human at the same time though I pitied him.

"Ehm! Hello human." said the male elf who entered the tent, or what he could consider his prison given the current situation. Amond studied the elf for any sign of weakness to exploit in case he did something stupid like free him of his bonds for some manner of hard labor, he wasn't sure what to be expecting being a slave to the elves.

" I'm not your slave no matter what you say, there are only two options: kill me now or leave me here to starve, tell that to your bitch and the rest of your soon to be dead race " he boldly proclaimed to the elf he now stood before him, even if he was in chains he wouldn't bow or behave like he was a prisoner, as a human he was a man with pride and a hunger for revenge that prevented him from being able to bow to the will of his very objects of vengeance. His voice was scratchy from under use, he had spoken more in that one sentence than he has in a week.

He made note of the fact that only his arms were shackled to the ground a while back so, just to test the elf before him now to see if he would flinch, with a cry of battle he lunged forward at him as if he were breaking free of his bonds. Of course he knew this was not possible so he wouldn't make it far before the chains stopped him dead in his tracks, even a small reflex like a flinch in the face of an possible attack would tell him how strong he was.

"I'm not your slave no matter what you say, there are only two options: kill me now or leave me here to starve, tell that to your bitch and the rest of your soon to be dead race " I stood silent for a moment, watching how the Human eyed me. Out of nowhere he lunged forward as if about to attempt an attack. Instinct overthrew my mind, and I pulled on the Forest, asking for its assisstance. Two sharp roots shot out of the dirt floor of the tent. They wrapped themselves around the Human's neck like a tight necklace. I then remembered that he was chained. I let out a small bit of laughter at my foolishness. I slowly let my shoulders relax, and looked at him.

I commanded the roots to take their former place among the dirt. "You speak out of turn Human. Tell me, what is your name? What reason do you have to loathe my sister as you do?"

just as his binds forced him to come to a stop a pair of roots shot up from the ground sending dirt flying as they wrapped themselves around his throat and began to constrict, and the while there was a pained toothy smile on his face for he took that action as a sign, his lungs began to burn slightly from the lack of oxygen but before it could get any worse the roots loosened from around his neck and were sinking back into the ground. He dropped to one knee and held his throat with one hand as he continued to look the elf in the eye " it is customary.." he took pauses between words as his breathing slowly returned to normal " to introduce ones...self when entering a room...or do they not teach manners to ...you bastards "

at that he returned to his seated position since he wouldn't be able to stand up completely anyways, his eyebrows rose in surprise when he mentioned the female elf being his sister, as far as he could tell they looked nothing alike from their facial structure right down to the most obvious things like hair and eye color " that bitch recited to me what was most likely my brothers last words to mock me, that alone gives me enough reason to believe she's the one who came into our home and killed him in cold blood " just the thought of brought his blood to a boil " he was just a god damn kid! " he shouted as he pounded his fist on the dirt ground and shed one manly tear.

(One manly tear, that made me laugh shaodow! xD)

"I am Lafarin, of House Dalisia. And may the oaks watch over you." Lafarin worked hard to keep his temper under control, and remember that this man was grieveing the loss of his brother. He tried to imagine how he would feel in Nifael were murdered. "That... Tis an unfortunate thing when a young life is wasted. My condolences to you, although I'm sure they amount to nothing in your eyes." Lafarin let out with a small sigh. He sat on the bed and looked at the poor man. "I would not want such blood on my hands, though let me make something very clear to you. I haven't the slightest idea why Arlathina has decided to let you live, but I swear if you raise a finger against her your life will be cut as short as your unfortunate brother's was." Lafarin slowly let venom trickle into his words until his voice sounded like an enraged rattlesnake.

Lafarin raised himself to his full height, and condescendingly looked down on the Human. "I don't agree with Arlathina's actions. I shall try to have one of something done about you. I will not lie, we may be forced to take your life, but I will reason with Arlathina to see if I can't get her to release you, and take back what she said about The Erandor Concordat." With that he set off into the surrounding woods looking for his sister.

Amond only listened to Lafarin as he spoke, the elf was right, his words were nothing to him and even though he'd introduced himself properly Amond had no intentions of doing the same, one the elf was done with his sympathetic words that quickly became words of intimidation he was on his feet, looking down at Amond as if he was some type of caged animal that should be pitied. Amond returned this look by spitting at his feet just as he did to Lafarin's sister. To them the gesture may not have meant much but to him it was one of the greater acts of disrespect one could offer another aside from the classic middle finger or spitting directly in ones face.

" Do as you wish but know that I have not asked for your help or your pity " he already accepted the fate of an inevitable death the moment he made the decision to come to the forest " either your sister will lay dead at my feet or I at yours, that is the only way this can end " before he could finish the elf was already on his way out of the tent " releasing me will be the biggest mistake of your life, mark my words! " he shouted to the elf, Lafarin must've been as mad as his sister was thinking he would actually serve as a slave to them. He must know there was no sign of forgiveness in Amond, and eye for an eye, blood for blood.

( lolol I aim to please )
