Age: 19 years
Rank: Peasant (thief)
Opinion on the war: None. essentially ignorant to the entire situation because of his low class.
Personality
Daedron is a bit of a wiseacre, having a sharp tongue to match his wit. He is often known to be the sarcastic cynic, but in truth he is a much more open-hearted person than he leads others to believe. His rough mannerisms come from his hard life he's managed to scrounge out through thievery and swindling. Although a skilled thief, and a master con artist, Daedron is always willing to help those in need, knowing that life's fortunes generally do not favor those already down on their luck. Strong willed, rash and certainly feisty, he is never one to back down from a fight. He sticks to his guns, and voices his mind.
Equipment
His sole weapon is a military dagger that once belonged to his father, and he always carries a set of lock-picks.
History
Daedron's mother died during his birth, leaving him in the sole care of his father - a proud warrior in the Royal military. Although his father was loving, his constant absence left Daedron with a growing hollow in his heart. News of his father's untimely demise during a conflict in the south cracked his heart wide, and left him lost. Orphaned at the age of 11, he was cast out into the streets, and met Herrick, the young leader of a small band of orphaned boys who called them selves the "Hollow." These boys made their lives through thievery and pickpocketing, of which, Daedron was surprisingly skillful. Daedron began to accept his lot in life, and eventually became Herrick's closest friend, and was treated as a brother, accompanying him on increasingly more dangerous missions. Tragedy struck yet again when Herrick was captured and hung after an attempt to steal from a wealthy merchant. After he overcame his grief he decided to leave behind the town he once lived in for the capital city. destiny only knows where his path now leads.
So begins...
Its good to be home, he thought to himself as he walked through the marketplace. Drake was back in the capital and he had gotten a good number of new recruits in the south. Around two thousand men and women had joined him. He had sent his captains away to get the recruits a place to stay while there were trained.
He noticed a dirty looking man sitting on a wall of to the side marketplace, scanning the crowd as if looking for someone. Drake knew what he was up to immediately, So he leaned against a nearby wall and pulled down the brim of his hat to watch the young man in action.
The man on the wall smiled at some unseen joke, handed his bread to a dirty little street urchin and headed of into the crowd. Drake followed him as he bumped into a pretty young women, who didn’t even notice what had just happened. He apologised to the women before trying to disappear into the crowd Drake just about kept up with him, following him deeper into the city.
The young man came to a stop outside a pub before heading inside. Drake walked down towards the entrance of the building and looked up at the sign swinging above the door, The Dragon's Kettle it showed. He had been to this pub before it had some of the finest ale in the city. He checked his hidden knives before entering the building just in case this went wrong.
When he stepped inside the young man was in conversation with an older man. Drake sat at the nearest table and ordered a drink from a nearby barmaid. When the older man moved away he approached the young man and said “ello my name is Drake Ravenseeker. I am a commander in the Erandorian army and I am looking for new recruits and people with special talents such as yours.” The man looked shocked and ready to bolt at any minute. “Now if you would like to come with me I can see to it you are given a good wage, a roof over your head and some of the best training in the country. Now what say you?”
He smiled at this confident young man, who reminded him of himself a little. Drake ordered another drink and one for the young man before answering his questions.
“If it is gold you are after you have got it but a war is coming to these lands my friend and I need men to help me fight this war and men to help me win this war. I believe you are one of the men who could help me win it”. Drake watched him to see how he reacted to this while taking a swig of ale.
“As for being told what to do. You operate whatever way you want to. I will only call upon you when I need to, shall we say acquire certain documents and I assume you know how to remain undetected and use that dagger of yours? If so I may need you to hunt elves and dwarves”.
"I hold no hatred in my heart for anyone but war is coming whether we like it or not boy. I’m going to need good men to help me win this war. Now I have spent enough time drinking while there is work to be done. Consider my offer, I will be staying at The Drunken Huntsmen Inn tonight and tomorrow night.” Drake downed the rest of his drink patted the young man on the back and started heading for the door “oh and one more thing, “I think this is yours” he turned and threw the small sack of jewellery to the young man and smiled before leaving the pub.
Outside in the street he laughed at his own trickery before heading to the Inn he was staying at. He was looking forward to a good game of dice, a drink and a good women to share his bed. He hoped the young man would come around eventually.
Before the women could answer his question, the young thief he had been talking to inside the pub called out to him "Ravenseeker! I have your answer. I will join your squadron. But I reserve rights to leave if ever I am given a task that doesn't suit me. I am no military dog, but I give you my allegiance. You have my word, and trust me, no more honest a thief ever there was." The young man smiled and shook his hand. Drake was pleased to have the thief on board with him.
The thief turned to the women "I'm sorry miss. I'm an acquaintance of Mr. Ravenseeker. You may call me Daedron. No, I don't have a last name. It died alongside my father. Who might you be?" The women turned to Daedron and said "You can call me Aneska...Aneska Ravenwood” before turning back to Drake. "If you are Drake Ravenseeker then you are the man I seek.
Drake turned to Daedron first “I'm happy to have you on board. If you would like to accompany me I will see you paid and accommodated”. He then turned to the women “yes I am Drake Ravenseeker. We will share words once we reach the Inn”.
