After a while she moved on to the more complex puzzles such as Suduko and The Rubik's Cube, and having completed them both many, many times, Vanessa moved on to books, were she read stories of magicians and fair maidens. It was then, amidst her imagination as she read, that Vanessa realized that she was capable of such told powers in these books. She had noticed it before, she was sometimes able to hear thoughts that were not hers and when she concentrated hard enough, she was even able to will people to do as she told. This discovery made Vanessa feel even more intellectual than she had before, and when she recieved the letter, Vanessa's eyes lit with glee as she wondered what puzzles they had in store for her.

Other: She seems to have a soft spot for Sagittarius and appreciates his skill, yet if anyone asked she would shrug him off as a mere friend.

So begins...

Stephen had just come home from work at the warehouse, a few stains of sweat on his white T-shirt causing it to keep sticking to him, so he immediately pulled it off and tossed it to the side. He figured he could take care of that later. He sighed and bent over to pick up the letters that had been left in a pile inside his door, and started to flip through them. Bills, bills, credit card offer, bills, fancy red envelope, more bills, nothing he couldn't worry about later. He tossed them all onto the table and went to get a bottle of water from his fridge before going back to the letters, narrowing his eyes at the red envelope. He pulled out a chair and sat down, flipping a butterfly knife he used to cut plastic wrap off pallets at the warehouse, and carefully slit it open, pulling out the letter within. He narrowed his eyes more as he kept reading, then set it down on the table on top of all of his bills. 'Weird...' he thought, 'I don't have powers... Yet they want to train me... I must be pretty lucky.' He shrugged and set it to the side, not worrying about it until he had relaxed some. Yet as he turned on Netflix and started the next episode in a series about a rookie spy that kept lucking out of dangerous situations, he kept thinking about the offer. That was why he was working and living on his own now after all, to pay his way through university, and here was one offering it to him for free. Finally he walked back over to the letter and read it again. 'Even the travel expense is covered? Oh well... What's the harm?' he thought to himself, and went to make plans for a flight. He spent the next week packing and visiting his parents every day. He quit his job and paid his last bills on his apartment, moving everything he couldn't take with him to a small shed in his parents backyard. They were concerned of course, but his mind was set and they didn't want to stop him. So a week later Stephen was off. His parents dropped him off at the airport and he placed all his luggage where it was supposed to go, bringing his small carry on bag with him as he tried to find his seat, while also looking to see what people were wearing, trying to judge if his loose black shorts and white T-shirt were out of place. He noticed he had a window seat and smiled as he slid into it, then got back up to put his carry on bag in the overhead compartment before sitting back down, his foot tapping nervously. Finally he noticed the girl sitting beside him reading a book. He blinked at her and then quickly looked out the window. 'Seriously,' he thought, 'How lucky can I get? I get a free flight next to a beautiful girl? Stars must be aligning properly.' He glanced back at her and smiled softly, "Hi. Names Stephen." He extended his hand towards her before continuing, "This is my first flight, anything I should know?"

Upon waking and stretching up her arms as she sat upright in her bed, Vanessa's mother gave a soft tapping-knock at the door, and then entered with Vanessa's motion, "Come in, I'm awake." Smiley cheerfully at the sleepy Vanessa as she rubbed her eyes, Maria - Vanessa's mother - made her way over to the bedside table and placed down a deep red envelope before heading over to the windows to pull back the curtains and let the light shine through.

Curious, Vanessa picked up the letter and caressed it with the tips of her fingers, tracing her fingers over the letters across the front which spelled out her full name and address. She recognized the style of font the letters where written in - 'Janda Happy Day' - and gave a soft grin at the thought of whom would use such a childish-looking style for such an important-seeming letter. Carefully opening the letter from the wax seal at the back, Vanessa pulled out the letter and began to read. Her eyes lit up and her smile grew as she scanned her way through the letter. Catching notice of this, Maria smiled warmly, and tried to peek at the content of the letter, "What is it, dear?" Seeing her mother's attempt, Vanessa turned the letter away and smiled back to seem as though she was not hiding anything, but infact shrugging it off, "Oh, it's nothing. Just an offering at some fancy school.. I'll think over it" to which Maria nodded and smiled again, "Well, that's wonderful darling! It's about time they paid attention to my smart little girl" she said, pinching Vanessa's cheek which made her glare softly.

Giggling happily, Maria released her daughter's cheek and began to leave the room, "Alright sweetie, I'll leave you to get dressed and think about it. Breakfast is on the table when you'd like some." Vanessa nodded and waited for her mother to leave, then as the door shut she giggled and squirmed excitedly, kicking off her bed covers then jumping up to approach her closet, skimming for something to wear but also planning things to pack.

After breakfast, Vanessa was packed and ready to go, so she brought her suitcase and side-bag along with her down the stairs into the main room, and dropped her stuff there as she stepped toward the kitchen, where her parents sat leisurely talking about the news. Mother and father both greeted Vanessa with a warm smile and motioned her over, to which she obliged but hesistated. She hadn't quite agree'd upon what she was about to do, but she couldn't have her parents knowing. Not yet atleast. Giving a soft sigh, which cued "What's wrong sweetheart?" from her father, she pulled them both over and gave them a hug before begining her speech, "I love you both, very much.." she began, closing her eyes as she pushed herself into their minds, "You've always been good to me and I appreciated it. But I have to go.." Vanessa probed their memories and began selecting the ones containing her, "I hope you understand, I don't know if you'll see me again.." with those words she plucked out the memories and erased them, sending her parents into a temperary state of shock, which she saw as her oppertunity to leave, "I'm sorry, I love you" she said, then gathering her things and slipping out the door.

On the plane, Vanessa sat contently reading one of her favorite books - The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes - and didn't even glance as she saw the man lift his belongings into the over-head compartment next to her own small bag. Vanessa sighed and turned a page as he sat, knowing he would most likely try to talk. The man outstretched his hand and named himself as 'Stephen'. Vanessa saw the only kind thing to do would be to acknowledge him atleast before continuing to read. Placing the book down and using her thumb as a page-marker, Vanessa looked to Stephen and smiled warmingly, elegantly shaking his outstretched hand, "Vanessa. Pleased to meet you. And well, all I could say is respect others. And don't vomit."

Adriana Maud

‘This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name!’

Adriana’s feet pounded the pavement in beat with the song, and her breath came in even puffs. Sweat poured off her as she turned around the corner. She used her momentum to pivot off the wall and catch hold of the fire escape. She swung herself up and ran up the stairs up to the roof.

‘Who the hell is he anyway?
He never really talks much
Never concerned with status but still leaving them star struck
Humbled through opportunities given despite the fact
That many misjudge him because he makes a living from writing raps
Put it together himself, now the picture connects
Never asking for someone's help, or to get some respect
He's only focused on what he wrote, his will is beyond reach
And now it all unfolds, the skill of an artist’

Once she hit the top she took a second to survey her surroundings. The jump from the building she was on to the next was a little farther than she had expected
but she wasn’t one to back down. She tightened her scarlet pony tail and grinned before taking off with an explosive start, she hit the edge of the building and then she was flying. She watched her surroundings spin as she flipped and landed on the edge of the building.

For a second she felt elation
and then she started to fall backwards. She took a second to assess the situation. Pushing back her panic she pushed off the ledge she was already falling from and reached out behind her. She reached out to catch onto the metal drain pipe and plant her feet against the building hoping to slow her decent. She felt the metal cut into her hands as her weight and gravity worked against her and dragged her down. When she only had a few feet from the ground she pushed off the wall and landed lightly on her feet.

Adriana grimaced as she looked at her bleeding hands. They weren’t too bad though she should consider getting gloves. She ripped the middle from her black tank top and wrapped a slice around each hand.

“This is ten percent luck, twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
Five percent pleasure, fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name”

Adriana sighed and changed the song as she started towards her apartment. Luckily it only took a few minutes to get home. Once in the door she started doing her cool down stretches and breathing exercises before she looked through her mail. More condolence cards, her deceased mother’s doctor bills
.and a bright red envelope.

“Weird color for a condolence letter.” She muttered as she opened it. Adriana read it, and re-read it
.and read it again. An invitation huh? It had to be a scam. She yawned and dropped it back on the table before heading to her bathroom to shower, change, and bandages her battle wounds
..though honestly the letter weighed on her mind. Once finished and dressed in her standard skinny jeans, knee high boots, white tank, and leather coat she sat on her couch for a moment before she picked up the red letter again.

“It has to be a scam
but I need to know who knows about me
.” She sighed.

“I guess it’s decided then
..I’m going back to school
.” Adriana said as she packed a bag and headed for the door.

Once at the airport she boarded her flight and started towards her seat. She sat to the left of a girl with brown hair and hazel eyes who was shaking the hand of a man with dark hair next to her. She listened in for a moment, only long enough to catch their names, and then turned her attention to her sketch pad.

Stephen nodded as the other girl sat down, glancing over to her before quickly looking back at Vanessa. "Throw up? Why would I throw up? They're not gonna turn this thing upside down are they? I mean, that would be incredibly fun, but... On my first flight? Really?" He glanced out the window for a moment, frowning as he looked at the tarmac, and then glanced back at the girl that had set beside Vanessa. "Hi, don't think I caught your name? Figure if we're gonna share this first leg of my journey, might as well get to know each other right?" He reached into his pocket to grab his phone in case they both disagreed with that logic, but it was right as a flight attendant came back and the scowl she gave him made him sigh and turn it back off and slip it back into his pocket as he waited for a reply from either girl. He wondered whether any of the other eleven were on the plane and suddenly started to crane his neck to look around at everybody, trying to see if he could find someone that looked like they had powers, still keeping an ear open to listen for the two girls' response.

Vanessa sat back, sighing softly as Stephen began to talk once more. Put off from her book, she slipped out a embroided leather bookmark from where she had kept it in her pockets and carefully placed it between the pages, closing the book with care and tucking it away beside where she sat. Now bored with nothing to keep her mind at ease, Vanessa closed her eyes and tried to catch the thoughts of those around her. The red-headed girl seemed only focused on what she was drawing and seemed to be singing song-lyrics in her head, Stephen's mind was full of excited questions to ask.

Vanessa gave a sigh again and leaned back more in her seat, trying to get comfortable so that she could focus more. Once she caught onto the mind of a girl behind the three, Vanessa locked on and began to read her thoughts. It seemed the girl was feeling mischevious, and wanted to play a prank on Stephen, the red-head and herself.

Opening her eyes to shut off her power, Vanessa smirked softly and gave a shrug, speaking outloud to the girl in the seat behind, "Spiders are marvelous creatures you know. They can spin a web in less than an hour with the finest silk, all produced from a web sack in their bodies. Isn't that fascinating? I do hope you don't play to use a real spider in your mischeif, somebody might hurt it." Though knowledgable, Vanessa didn't pay much attention to the thought or feeling of an animal, she just found particular habits and motions interesting, so she'd rather that they stay alive for her to be able to study.

Adriana Maud

"Hi, don't think I caught your name? Figure if we're gonna share this first leg of my journey, might as well get to know each other right?" The dark haired man, Stephen, said to Adriana. She glanced up from her sketch book and smiled.

“I didn't throw it,” she said as she paused to grin at him “but my name is Adriana Maud
So this is your first flight huh?” She asked as she looked back at her sketch then back up at him. She felt a flare of slight embarrassment as she realized the sketch she had started resembled him quite a bit
.though she did tend to draw her inspiration from reality. She closed her book and turned her full attention to him. She really didn't mind having someone to converse with on this long flight.

“It’s not as scary as you would think. I've been all around the world
and you’re more likely to die in a car accident than in a plane crash
though I guess that isn't’t really a comforting statistic huh?” Adriana said with a shrug. Honestly when she first started flying she hated it because she had no control over anything that happened
but after so many years of traveling around the world and flight being the fastest way to travel
she just kind of got used to it and kind of enjoyed it.

“Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.” Adriana said quoting the great Leonardo da Vinci, though she doubted anyone would pick up on it.

"Anywho....Your name was Stephen correct? It means crowned one...usually crowned in victory...interesting." Adriana said.

"Sorry, I have a bad habit of spouting random facts." she said with a sheepish smile

Felicia Miller

Felicia jumped over the back of her couch and landed on the comfortable cushions. She snatched the television remote off the coffee table in front of her. She turned on the television and stared at the screen for a little while. There was nothing on that interested her so she decided to turn the Xbox on. While the game system turned on she went to get the mail, inside of her mailbox she found a few bills and a red letter. She threw the mail on the coffee table and flopped down on the couch once again. She lazily reached out for the Xbox controller that was on the far side of the coffee table.

She started to play Call of Duty and got frustrated with it quickly. She put the controller down on the table and looked at her mail. The red letter looked important so she decided to open it. She read the letter and didn’t believe what she was reading. She knew that she was different from other people but didn’t think there was a school for people like her. She sat there for a moment just looking at the letter not knowing how to feel. She then got up and walked toward the bathroom. She decided that a shower might help clear up her mind, when she got in and turned on the water it was freezing cold but she didn’t flinch. After the cold shower, she had made her decision to go and check this school out.

While packing Felicia saw the picture of her mother on her nightstand and walked over toward it. She picked the picture up ran her hand down the picture frame. “I won’t be powerless anymore mom. I’m going to make you proud; your little girl is all grown up.” A tear fell down her face and was quickly wiped away. Felicia said to herself as she quickened the pace of her packing “Now is not the time for tears I need to get ready.” When Felicia was finished packing she had filled three duffle bags, a carryon bag, and a large suitcase with her items. When she exited her apartment building a taxi was waiting for her. She put her things into the car and looked at her apartment one final time. The driver stepped out of the car and asked “Where am I taking you ma’am?” Felicia turned and with a smile said “To the airport please.” The driver nod and after Felicia got in the car drove off.

When they arrived at the airport the driver asked “Do you need help with your bags? You have a lot.” Felicia simple shook her head and after getting out easily lifted the bags on her shoulder and rolled the suitcase behind her. She checked her bags and then went to go find the gate her plane would leave from. Her plane arrived and she got on, there were a few interesting looking people already on the plane. She simply sat down in an available seat and opened up the bag she carried on with her. She pulled out a bag of Oreos and began eating a few of them.

Stephen furrowed his brow a little as Vanessa started talking to someone seemingly at random about spiders and then glanced over to Adriana. He smiled a little and nodded, "Nice to meet you Adriana. Well I've been lucky enough to not be in a car crash, so I suppose this flight can't be too bad." He stretched out and tried to prop his feet up on the chair in front of him, but ended up just kicking it, and slowly set his feet down as the person sitting in it turned around and gave him a glare. Then he seemed to forget about them as he turned towards Adriana again, "Victory? Well, I haven't too many fights, so I suppose it's somewhat accurate at least."

Then he heard the girl behind him, whom he assumed Vanessa had been talking too and furrowed his brows. He turned around in his seat and glanced at her, "Um... You do know people can't read minds right? And if they can..." He glanced back at Vanessa and narrowed his eyes, "Teach me..." Then he blinked and glanced back at Alice, "Name's Stephen! In case you didn't catch it."

Vanessa peeked up at the girl named Alice who had apparently now joined her personal space, like Adriana and Stephen had. With a kind smile she turned her torso to see the girl's upside-down face, "Well, I can finish a Rubik's cube in three minutes, if that's anything to boast about" she smirked a bit, glancing over to Stephen as he made his comment, then looked back to Alice, "I apologise, but it's usually not common to ask. You don't seen the vilians in books and movies asking kindly before they take captive, do you?" she'd giggle softly then and turn to sit straight in her seat again, wondering what else she can do to occupy her time.

Adriana Maud

Adriana listened silently as the three began talking about mind reading. She felt her interest pique
and fear coil in her stomach. She knew for a fact that powers of the paranormal variety existed
.simply because she herself had some abilities that terrified her. She was poison to any living creature she chose
though honestly she didn't want to poison anyone. Hurting people wasn't really in her nature
unless she got mad
which she tried not to do. Losing control wasn't her thing.

“Mind reading
.” She murmured as she inspected Vanessa carefully. She looked pretty normal to Adriana but...then again, aside from her ruby red hair she looked pretty normal too.

“Neat trick” She said and smiled.

Once he had arrived at the airport, Xander began to experience feelings of apprehension as he made his way to the terminal. "Xander, man, what the hell are you even doing?" he questioned himself in his thoughts. He had an odd habit of conversing with himself mentally when he felt the need to talk something out. "I have to go, the Universe is telling me to."

"The 'universe'? Do you even hear yourself right now?"

"It sounds crazy..."

"That's because it IS crazy."

"Well I AM crazy! I'm talking to you, aren't I?"

"Touché."

"I should really consider therapy..."

He had been so lost in his thoughts that he hadn't even realized he'd bumped into the ticket check lady. "Gah! I'm so sorry, miss.."

"That's no problem!!" she said with a big smile as she chuckled. "I'll need to check your ticket, please?"

"Yep, here you go." he replied, presenting his ticket to her.

"Lovely! Enjoy your stay in Japan, Mister Lockheart! Have a safe flight!" she smiled again.

Xander wondered why there wasn't that many people here... in fact, there was hardly anybody. "Is it not common to travel to Japan this time of year or something?" He shrugged it off and boarded the plane. He looked for a good aisle seat somewhere near the middle of the plane. He wasn't fond of flying, and he had heard once that people in the middle of the plane are least likely to die in case of a crash. He knew it wasn't likely a scientific fact and that he should probably doubt the validity, but he figured it couldn't hurt, right? His assigned seat was a window seat towards the back of the plane, but he had asked the stewardess if he could pick somewhere else since there was hardly anybody on the flight, and she didn't seem to have a problem with it. He stuffed his larger duffle-sized carryon bag into the storage compartment overhead and sat in an empty row of chairs. "Thank god.." he silently sighed to himself in relief of the fact that there was hardly anybody else seated near him; just a woman, looked like about in her middle ages with her baby in the row opposite his, and one row back. He tucked his backpack between his legs and waited for takeoff. At this point, a normal person might put in music or something, but Xander preferred people watching from afar. His thoughts were mixed with feelings of anticipation to find out what exactly he was doing with his life right at this moment, boarding a plane to a strange academy in the middle of Japan. He was desperate to know who sent that letter, who could have known about his powers. Then he mulled over a particular part of the letter, "to help train and discipline you, to achieve better mastery of your abilities - " what exactly did that mean? Was he able to do more than he even knew..? He never imagined that this strange ability of his would amount to anything more than exactly what it's been: just a way with people. A really good way with people. Xander wasn't dumb; he knew there was a difference between simply being a charming and persuasive person, and being able to do what he does. He could get away with murder if he wanted... heck, he's gotten away with things almost as bad.

Then he took notice to a group of kids way up at the front of the plane. Must be some group of friends on vacation, he thought. He watched as they entertained each other. He was too far to hear what they were saying, but the one girl seemed to be harassing her more quiet and bookish friend in the seat in front of her. Xander couldn't hide a small smile that found its way to his face. He wondered what it must be like to have friends like that.. companions who you are so close with, you can do anything together, even take a vacation across the globe. He made up stories for the kids as he observed them.. the girl in front, the one that looked rather unamused, she must have been the brains of the group. The girl behind her is obviously the crazy one. The girl next to the quiet girl had fiery red hair and some tattoos, maybe some piercings from what he could see. She's obviously the rebel. And then the boy near the window getting all the attention.. lucky bastard. He's either the pimp or the token homosexual of the group, Xander mused to himself. He caught himself slightly giggling to himself. "Whoops.."

He began to zone out as he sat and waited for take off. It sure felt like it was taking a while..

Stephen narrowed his eyes as he looked closer at Vanessa, almost seeming like he was going to lean in and try to kiss her but that wasn't his intent. "So what... Are you like super smart? And you just guess what people are thinking? Because nobody actually has powers right?" He frowned then, leaning back and looking down at his lap. He hoped nobody would ask him about why he mentioned powers, because if he told them why he was on the plane, they'd surely try to lock him up in a mental institution when it landed.

He decided not to worry about it as a fly landed on one of his knuckles. He looked up at Alice and smirked as she copied his introduction back at him, and then looked down at the fly as it tickled him. It flew away and his eyes followed it over Alice's head and back towards the rear of the plane. He lost sight of it right as his eyes passed over a boy sitting near the middle of the plane and giggling just a little, and Stephen blinked again before grinning and waving at him, wondering why he sat so far away from everyone. Then he saw the baby and he grinned wider, waving at it and making cooing sounds until he just froze upon seeing Vanessa's face from behind him. He furrowed his brow and looked between the two Vanessa faces and then just stared at the one that must have been Alice, a look of confusion on his face.

Covering her mouth with the back of her hand as she yawned quietly, Vanessa looked around, then caught sight of Stephen waving and smiling to someone across from them. Glancing over she saw a man who seemed to be looking at the 'group' which had accumulated by her seat, and a baby. Smiling warmly, she waved to the baby too, and smiled again as she glanced to the man, nodding to him in acknowledgement before she was again dragged back to focus on Stephen and the others.

Stephen furrowed his brow, looking confused as she glanced back and forth between herself and Alice, the girl behind. Curious, Vanessa turned to look behind her seat once more and was greeted by her own face, except with different hair and clothing. Smirking softly, Vanessa sat back in her seat again and said as mockingly as she could, "It's kind of mean to copy someones face without letting them know first, y'know?" then smiling a little at her own mimic.

Krys just sat and moved his body a bit while tapping his foot and singing with a small tone. Well, he's kinda feeling-the-beat now, so if there aren't anybody who feel irritating, maybe he could do that so that the flight wouldn't be too boring. Krys was sitting on the top row of the plane so maybe the passengers who sat behind him might didn't notice him and the girl next to him. "I wonder if there are anybody who also be asked to join the Academy on this plane", he thought. So he turned his head and saw a guy with black hair, a girl with deep brown hair and hazel eyes and a girl with stunning red hair was sitting on a same row, and there also a girl with long blonde hair sitting behind them. It seems that they were talking and they get along quite well. Krys took off his headphones, but still wearing his sunglasses, "Wow, isn't it so much fun back there. Maybe I should change my seat..."

Krys then stood up and walked out from his seat. Well, since the plane is flying quite stabled now so they could walk freely, it's not like when you're travel on a bus so there's nothing to worry. He walked towards the group who was talking and smiled like sunshine, "Hey, it seems like you guys are really having fun. So... do you mind if I joined you? Oh, I forgot to introduce, the name's Krystian. Nice to meet you all."

Felicia Miller

The plane was almost empty except for a few people scattered throughout. Felicia took out her phone and made sure there wasn’t a flight attendant around to tell her to shut her phone off. She began furiously typing trying to get all of her thoughts down into one text message. The recipient of this text was her little brother, Adam. It had been sometime since she had seen him and he was on her mind as she sat there. Felicia was starting to have second thoughts about going she didn’t know when she would get to see her family again and it scared her. Instead of being only a few hours away she would be half the world away. She strengthened herself before any tears started to appear on her face. She looked down at the text she had written and read it to herself.

Hey little brother, I know we haven’t seen each other in so long
but I want you to know that I love you. Claire told me about that scholarship you got and I couldn’t be more proud of you. I’m sure mom would be proud as well. Sadly this isn’t just a text to check up on you and tell you how proud I am. I wanted you to know that I am going on trip and I’m not sure how long I will be gone. While I’m gone I want you to do your best, I might not be able to give you any sisterly advice while I am gone so just remember this. When in doubt do what I would do, just kidding don’t follow my example I don’t want you getting expelled or something. When things get bad remember that you have people who will support you no matter what. Plus you are stronger than you think and can do anything you set your mind to. Well I’m going to go before end the text before I ramble on even more. I love you little bro, take care of yourself.

She sent the message and started to tear up a little bit, but they were tears of joy. Felicia ran the back of her hand along her eyes wiping away the tears that were forming. As she did this she looked around to make sure no one was watching her. Ahead of her was the small group that seemed to be enjoying each other’s company. They seemed to be focused on their own group and she was sure they didn’t notice her.
However, two of them turned around to wave and smile at someone. This caused Felicia to grow curious so she poked her head into the aisle and saw they were waving to a man behind her in the middle area of the plane. He didn’t seem to be a part of their group so Felicia wondered why they looked at him. Felicia was curious about this man mostly because he was attractive, but he also seemed like the type that could hold a conversation.

Felicia grabbed her bag and switched to a seat that was two rows behind her original seat. She was sure no one would mind since the plane had so much open space. When Felicia got to her new seat she place down her bag and got comfortable. She then turned in the seat and said “ Psst, hey you with the spiky hair and attractive face.” Felicia was very straight forward, which was just the way she was and couldn't help it. Plus she was pretty sure this man was the type of guy that was attractive and knew it. She only waited a split second before continuing to talk to the man “I was wondering if you wouldn't mind a little company. I was bored and you seem like the opposite of boring.”

Adriana Maud

Adriana sighed as the conversation went on without her. It was obvious they were going to keep on this train of conversation and she had no interest in revealing her big secrete
.considering hers was more deadly than entertaining.

"Hey, it seems like you guys are really having fun. So... do you mind if I joined you? Oh, I forgot to introduce, the name's Krystian. Nice to meet you all." A new comer said as he took a seat near them.

“Hello, my name is Adriana, pleasure to meet you Krystian
” She said, being as polite as possible for her. She thought about falling into her sketch again but knew she had no real inspiration at the moment.

“Well
since I have nothing to contribute
.you can take my place in this
slightly loonie conversation. I need a drink anyways
” She mumbled as she stood and stretched. She started walking towards the back hoping to catch sight of a flight attendant. She noticed a attractive boy with dark spikey hair and couldn’t help but give him a once over
.and then she noticed the girl with dark wavy hair leaning over and talking to him. ‘Damn
too bad’ she thought with a self-depreciating smile. She only made it a few feet down the aisle before they hit slight turbulence, causing her to lose her footing. She tripped and landed ungracefully in a heap.

"I guess maybe I should hold off on getting a drink because apparently I cant walk sober..." she said trying to make light of the situation as she got to her feet and made her way to the bathroom. Once in there she sighed in relief. Maybe the flight was getting to her...and they had just taken off. She felt a little sick to her stomach at the thought of the long flight.

Adriana sighed as she caught her reflection in the mirror. Her scarlet hair was pulled back into a braid though a few wisps of hair had escaped. She was paler than usual and her chocolate brown eyes had dark rings. She hadn't been sleeping well since her mothers funeral a few weeks ago....because when she closed her eyes she saw the casket lowering into the ground....She sighed and splashed some water on her face.

"I guess both parents dying isnt good for the complexion...." she muttered as pain made her chest ache. Tears sprang to her eyes but she bit them back.

"Okay...no more self pitty..." she bit out to herself as she came out of the bathroom and sat back down in her seat.

Adriana Maud

Adriana tuned out the conversation around her and slipped slowly into unconsciousness...and as soon as she did the dreams started.

Fire, everything was on fire....the smoke choked her lungs and made her eyes water.

'Hello...?' Adriana's voice echoed into darkness and she felt fear rise in her throat. Her heart clawed at her chest. Her mind went blank with fear as fire licked up her leg. She screamed and ran. The ground below her started crumbling below her.

"Help!" She screamed and felt terror tear through her. There was no one there...no one there to help her...she was alone.

Suddenly someone appeared and grabbed her hand and the ground stopped crumbling. She looked up at the face of her savior and saw her mother....

"Mom...." she whispered and hugged her....and then her mother was disintegrating....falling apart as if rotting from the inside out.

"Mom...no...Mom!" She screamed as dust slid through her fingers. Tears rolled down her face and she fell to her knees, pain ripping through her chest.

"Whats the matter honey?" Her dads voice rang through the darkness.

"No! Don't come near me! I'm...I'm poisonous! Please....Please don't come near me...." She mumbled in
her sleep.

Adriana woke with a start and a small gasp as the wheels touched the ground. She was sweating and tears had made tracts down from her eyes. She wiped her face quickly and sighed.

"Please remain seated until the plane comes to a complete stop" A overly chipper female voice said over the intercom. Adriana stood as soon as the plane stopped and was the first one off the plane, despite the many protests of the other passengers and flight attendants.

"Gotta get out of here." She mumbled and all but ran through the airport. It only took her a moment to hail a taxi. The ride was fairly smooth. It gave her enough time to do a quick change of wardrobe (much to the drivers embarrassment) into a white sundress and fix her make up. When she arrived at her second location she spotted an older man, a Helicopter and a younger very attractive man.

"Well Hello there....Maybe this trip wont be all bad...." She said under hear breath with a grin.

As the sun rose on a new day Ryan found himself a bit sluggish out of bed. He peered at the mysterious folded letter and ticket that lay on his desk. "I wonder who's messing with me. No one knows about my powers and I've made a point to keep it that way." At that moment there was a knock on Ryan's door. "Letter for Ryan Joseph King"

Opening the door hesitantly as he was shirtless and still in his pajamas the 20 year old Australian male answered the women by simply saying "Yes?". The the Mail-women didn't seemed fazed by his nudity and acted as if nothing was wrong with it, "Sign here please" She held out a small touchscreen device and with a quick swipe of the stylus Ryan signed for the letter. "You have a good day sir." and without further adieu the women left only peering back ever so slightly at Ryan's pajamas, but more accurately his morning-wood. Looking down and noticing for himself Ryan stepped back inside and closed to door swiftly from embarrassment. He had nothing to be ashamed off but still he felt inappropriate. "Who's this from?" he asked himself as he opened the the packaging only to find a picture of a temple with writing on the back which read...

"Dear Pisces, the last of the 12 and most skeptical it seems. You have missed your flight to japan with the other 11 students but all is not lost, you have a gift that eliminates the need for such means of transportation. Focus on this picture and search your mind for this place. Do not consult maps or people for this place because they will not aid you, only with your mind can you arrive now.
Good Luck- The Elder"

"What is this bullshit? who's fucking with me?" after studying the picture for a minute Ryan threw the picture in the garbage in a fury and went into his bathroom for a relaxing morning shower. While in the shower Ryan thought about the words written on the back of the picture and focused his thoughts on where the temple in the picture could be. "Well obviously the temples of asian influence... and the tickets were for Japan..." Just like that Ryan's mind developed a clear birds eye image of the island of Japan although physically he was still showering in his dorm room. Suddenly the water around Ryan began to glow and swirl around him with Astral energy. Now focusing harder he began to pinpoint his search for the temple in his mind scanning over the main land finding places such as Kyoto and Tokyo, but as he began his search through the smaller islands the main water line in his bathroom burst and ruined his concentration. "Shit shit shit shit!" Ryan exclaimed as he tried his hardest turn the water supply off and prevent even more flooding.

Once the bathroom crises had been taken care of the now clean and slightly stressed out Ryan searched through his closet to find a pair of clean dark jeans and a clean v neck t-shirt to get him through the day. After exiting the room in hurry Ryan quickly remembered he'd left his keys and jacket so he turned back around grabbed the two items and locked up.

LATER THAT DAY

It was about quarter till noon when Ryan realized he was late for swimming practice which started promptly at 12:00PM sharp all the way across campus. "Crap coach is gonna kill me!" Ryan screamed as he began weaving through the sea of people that stood in his way. "Watch it jackass!" yelled one of the students Ryan accidentally bumped into. "Do that again and ill kick you're ass!" Screamed another angry victim of Ryan's rush. No matter how well of a swimmer he was, on land he could be quite the klutz when in a hurry. With only seconds to spare Ryan burst through the door yelling. "Im here!....Im here coach." Klaus, Ryan's coached yelled back in reply "Your not here until you're in the water swimming laps, you hear me!... and you got about 20 seconds."
"Yes sir" replied Ryan as he ran for the locker room removing what articles of clothing he could. swiftly spinning the dial on his combination locker, he opened the door and removed his swimming speedo before quickly putting it on and running out to the pool area. "You're late Ryan. "But I was just...." "I don't wanna hear your excuses, get in secondary pool and give me 10 laps." "Oh come on, if it were anyone else you'd let them slide or at least only give them 5 laps at most!" "Oh boo whoo, now hop to it! "This is bullshit." Muttered Ryan under his breath as he slowly made his way to the secondary pool, which was famously known for being a good 3 degrees colder.

As Ryan backstroked his way down the lanes he couldn't help but think about his experience earlier in the shower, he still had a clear mental image of the temple and even though he'd never been to japan he was still able to get a clear image of the island as if he were hovering thousands of miles in the air looking down upon it. "I still never found that temple" he thought to him self as he completed a flip turn and started his second lap. "I wonder..." and before Ryan could finish his thought he stopped stroking and closed his eyes allowing himself to float in the water and concentrate back on the temple. Ryan's mind began to search throughout the islands off the main land of Japan when almost like a train coming to sudden halt the image of a particular island filled his minds eye. "Is this the place?" he thought to himself as his body floated motionless in the pool of now glowing water. Ryan continued to search the island with his mind when finally he caught sight of the Temple and its adjacent landing pad. Also with his minds eye it appeared as if 11 young adults were entering a helicopter and preparing for take off with their belongings off the closest coast of Japan, 6 girls and 5 boys. It was like watching through a window for Ryan, he could see the Island clear as day, but he knew he was still in a pool in Australia. "I guess I'd be the sixth guy if I was there... it sure looks nice...the water looks clear and warm... better than this freezing pool..... I wish I was there...."

Suddenly the glowing water around Ryan's body began to swirl into a whirlpool and began dragging him down to the depths of the pool. He opened his eyes and reached for the surface but it was too late the water had taken him and he just seemed to go deeper and deeper "Whats happening to me." he thought to himself as he continued to sink way past what should've been the bottom of the pool. Then almost like a beacon of hope Ryan could see a light opening up underneath him, it was warm and felt almost like sunlight as the current around him continued to push him toward it. "Am I dying? is this it for me?" Unable to tell what was up, down, left, or right any mores Ryan contemplated his death, when all of a sudden a column of water clearly visible from the take off pad pushed him up 10 feet into the air and out of the ocean an a few miles off the coast of the island. "OHHHH SHIIIIIIT" Screamed Ryan as he plummeted back toward the water, his voice caring over onto the main land. With a loud splash Ryan's body made contact with the water and after overcoming the pain of his 10 foot back flop he made his way toward the beach and more precisely the Temple.

Vanessa decided to emerse herself in the book she had been trying to read for the rest of the flight, and decided to just simply ignore what other distractions may take haste during the flight. Now three chapters in from where she had started, Vanessa flickered her eyes along the words of each page until her silent thoughts were interupted by the inter-com message, which told Vanessa and the rest of the passengers the plane was landing. Relieved that the red-headed girl had made such a quick exit to allow Vanessa to pass by her seat without any awkward shuffling, Vanessa reached to the over-head compartment and grabbed for her bag, then making for her own exit off of the plane.

Once in the airport, Vanessa looked around and decided her first course of action would be to make sure her currency is in check. Glancing up occasionally from her book until she reached the counter for converting money, Vanessa gave her usual smile and asked for however much money she had on her to be converted into yen. Admittedly she had rushed her way out of her home, but thankfully she still had some money left in her purse from previous affairs. Luckily, she seemed to be carrying enough for a taxi fare, and so headed outside the airport to find one.

After what seemed an eternity of trying to pick the attention of a taxi cab driver, Vanessa noticed Stephen in a cab nearby screeching to a halt and beckoning her in. Elegently sliding herself into the seat beside Stephen, then closing the door beside her, she smiled to him as thanks then lifted her brow at the fimiliar red of the envelope, taking it in her hand to read the adress outloud to the driver. " ç±łć›œăŻă€ăƒ˜ăƒȘăƒ‘ăƒƒăƒ‰ă«gyojoæ”·ćČžă«ăŻă€ă—ăŠăă ă•ă„." she say fluently, her years of studying various books, including those on languages, enabling her to speak practically any language she wishes with such grace. The taxi driver nodded, then sped off toward the destination.

Upon arriving at the helli-pad, Vanessa thanked the driver, paid what was due in her yen, leaving a small tip, then stepped out of the cab, leaving the door open for Stephen to climb out. With a smile and a nod, Vanessa entered the hellicopter, again leaving the door open for Stephen, then began to read her book quietly as the helicopter began to lift off, and procceed to take herself and the others in the hellicopter to their destination. By now, having seen the red enveloped Stephen passed her, and recognizing some others from the plane journey here, Vanessa had assumed the rest of them had 'powers' too, and where all invited to the mysterious island to help master them. Vanessa sighed and sat back, trying to concentrate on the book as the helicopter gently drifted closer and closer to Gyojo Island.

Shiloh Marshall
Image

Shiloh sighed in relief as she heard the rotor blades of the helicopter start up. She strapped into her seat and grabbed one of the many pairs of headphone’s used to block out the loud sound of the copter and to communicate with the driver, the old man whose name still is unknown to her. Once Shiloh double checked she was strapped in properly she relaxed into the seat. Following rules always seemed to calm her down, that and the thought of going deaf completely left her mind once she found out the headphones did a good job at blocking out noise. Before the helicopter started she had a few short sentences spun her way but the person always changed their focus somewhere else almost immediately so Shiloh saw no harm in not answering. She also saw the other’s taking in each other’s appearance and almost everyone’s eyes had stayed on her a moment to long for her liking but then a lot of their gazes would shift to the young tall man, Luke if she had heard him correctly, and they would eye him up like their favorite sweet tempting them closer. There was one man, whose name she picked up as Xander, gave her a look she was all too familiar with the one that clearing thought they show through what charade you are trying to put on, like dying your hair and wearing contact’s. Sadly Shiloh did neither of those things, her features were as true and pure as the day she was born.

A suddenly wave of unnatural warmth spread over Shiloh, the air around her feeling thick, but the moment is disappear Shiloh gave out a frightened squeak as a girl with golden brown hair popped into existence in the seat just across from hers.
‘That
that girl ju..just teleported! Wow’ Shiloh thought to herself as the sudden flash of fright started to disappear. She had to remember these people had powers. Like her. The thought of her own person always left a bitter taste in her mouth. Seeing and raising the dead! Why couldn't she have a power like the brown haired girl that said she was super strong. Shiloh huffed quietly but was interrupted when a loud thunk hit her window and another squeak left her. Looking out her window Shiloh shivered when she saw a large raven flying alongside the helicopter, hitting its head on the window. With a closer look at the vermin you could clearly see the tire marks over its flattened stomach and that half of its face looked as though it had been chewed off by a rat. The creature was dead yet here it was flying and from the looks of it trying to get through the window.

‘No! GO AWAY!’ Shiloh yelled at it with her thoughts but the bird just kept trying. Even when Shiloh could clearly see the island now it was still with them, still trying to get at her. She hoped no one else noticed. Sighing she decided to try and distract herself by watching Adriana get out of her seat and pull out some tarot cards. But it seemed the more she ignored the beast the more noise it made. Out of the corner of her eye Shiloh thought she saw someone move their head to look her way and she acted fast picking up a random tarot card from Adriana’s stack and placing it on the window. Now Shiloh didn’t believe in tarot cards being accurate but when she saw she had picked up the Devil card a shiver ran up her spine. When she left the jerking motion of the helicopter landing Shiloh moved quickly, unbuckling herself and grabbing her luggage.

“Sorry” Shiloh mumbled to Adriana as she quickly gave her back the card and rushed off the helicopter, her feet landing harshly on the tarmac. Shiloh glanced around. The island was beautiful but once she spotted it her eyes never left it. Cause there it was that damned dead vermin that just won’t die and leave her alone, perking innocently on a small rock its clouded dark gaze never leaving her for a second.

Just die already!
