Introduction

There's More Than What Meets The Eye

4 girls who had always been struggling in life, stumble upon 4 brothers... and their lives are about to take some few turns.

{Characters}
[Taken]:Hiroki Mikazuki:[Taken]
He's the one who's good at everything. You know, the popular guy in school who seems to be great at all sorts of sports, and with one of those "cool" attitude. He seems charming and nice, or others would say... Perfect. Well, not really. He's not flawless, nor is he one of those romantic type of guy. Sure he might be good at some sports, but there's more to him that nobody really knows about.
[The Second oldest]

[Taken]:Hisoka Mikazuki:[Taken]
He's the "bad-ass" type. The one who puts on a cold act, distancing himself from others. He doesnt allow anyone to get in his way, and is very stubborn. Though in reality, he does have a sweet side, and may be a bit of a romanticist. Perhaps, all he really seeks is some real attention and love. [The Third Oldest]

[Taken]:Tochi Mikazuki:[Taken]
The soften spoken one. He's the type of guy who prefers to be reading while the others are playing games. He tends to stay away from any sorts of fights, and is known to be a "peace keeper." For some reason, he's great at persuading others, also thinking reasonably. Maybe it's because of the lack of socializing, people thinks of him as a blunt guy. But, he's actually a fun loving guy, who enjoys a good company. [The oldest]

[Taken]:Satomu Mikazuki:[Taken]
The young and innocent one. He's cute, and more of a sweet lolita type. Around strangers, he's shy and quiet, but at the same time, he's also very quick to make friends. Once he feels comfortable around someone, he tends to be overly out-going. He cares deeply for those around him, and might be a bit of a "cry-baby" but that's just part of his charm. [The youngest]

[Taken]:Anna Ichigama:[Taken]
She's the type who's always putting others in front of herself. She's constantly worrying for the others, that she often forgets about about herself. She's known to be the "motherly" type, and is strict about someone's health.

[Taken]:Charlotte Valeria Siniard:[Taken]
A bit of a stubborn girl. She likes doing things in her own way, and hates it when people tell her what to do. One of the many things she hates, is when people are being sexist. If you're going to try persuading her to do something, you better have a good reason. She also very confident of herself, and doesnt like being proven wrong. She'll do whatever it takes to prove her point.

[Taken]:Megumi Fujiwara:[Taken]
The out-going and cheerful one. She thinks optimistically most of the time, and is rarely seen without a smile. She likes seeing people happy, but at the same time, wont allow anyone to help her when she's facing a problem. She's great at all sorts of housework such as cooking, and cleaning.

[Taken]:Billie Jolynn Nagwani:[Taken]
The artistic and musical type. She's highly talented in drawing, singing, or playing the instrument, and usually expresses her feelings using these talents. All her thoughts and feelings seemed to be hiding within the beauty of he work.

~Backgrounds~ (You may want to read this)
The 4 boys are brothers. However, Male 2 comes from a different mother, while Male 4 comes from a different father.
Male 1 and Male 3 are full blooded brothers.
So pretty much, after giving birth to Male 1 and Male 3, their parents got a divorce. Their father married another woman, who gave birth to Male 2, while on the other hand, their mother also go remarried, and had Male 4.
Male 1 and Male 2 really dont get along with each other.

Female 1 is living in a small house, barely able to support herself and her family. She has a part time job at a cafe, but that's still not enough money. After her father's business became bankrupt, she was left alone with her sick mother.
Female 2 lives with an abusive uncle. Both her parents died in a care accident, and nobody was willing to take her in besides her uncle. She works in a bar, but mostly to avoid her uncle. But currently, she was fired due to the lack of "respect" she showed to the customers.
Female 3 pretty much has a decent life. She's not poor, though at the same time, she's not rich. Being that she was adopted, nobody in the family really cares for her.
Female 4 came from a wealthy family. However, her mother ran off with all the money after her father fell ill. Her dream was to attend a Music Academy, but due to the lack of money, she couldnt go. Now she's living with her grandparents, who are also struggling to support her.

So... What's the Story?
So the girls are pretty much having difficulty in life and they attend the same high school as the 4 brothers. The 4 girls are looking for some extra job that could get them away from their family, or to get money. Strangely enough, all of them happens to come across a flyer saying a maid is wanted. The price of the pay seemed promising, so they decided to check it out. Unfortunately, they end up getting lost, and stumble upon a mansion. Thinking that was the place, they rang the doorbell... only to find out it was the home to the 4 brothers...
Oh, and one more thing... Did I mention these brothers are not exactly normal? They are in fact... vampires. (And no... they dont sparkle, they dont burn in the sun. They could eat human food, and can survive without blood... but it's still tempting)

"Y-you okay?"

She did not know really what to do. The girl was used to dressing minor cuts, not major gashes. The crimson blood still poured out of her hand.

"What's wrong, Princess, you break a nail or so--"

Charlotte looked up, not caring for Hisoka's comments, but he was gone in a flash, before she could even respond with something witty.

"Yea, uhm, I'm fine-" She winced a tad and pressed the cut to her mouth in any kind of attempt to stop the bleeding. "I have stuff in my car, I'm just going to bandage this up-" Her eyes caught the clock, "then i'll just go home.. it's late."

She ran out of the door, and into her car, quickly bandaging her hand before any of them could offer assistance she didn't need. In the end she ended up tearing one of her shirts up to tie around her hand to use as pressure. About five minutes later the bleeding stopped enough for her to drive home. She was exhausted, mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Glaring at the road ahead of him, Hisoka burned across the pavement like a bat out of hell. That little fool. She'd just had to make his night progressively worse, huh? He could've easily gone another week without feeding if she hadn't gone and sliced her hand open like an idiot. If she only knew how close she'd been to having her blood drained by a feral vampire, he knew Charlotte would never have come within a hundred miles of their home ever again. He'd known this whole maid thing had been a stupid idea from the start, but did anyone listen to him? Of course not! It was only a matter of time before something like this happened. He was just happy he'd gotten out of there when he did. Hiroki was fine with blood, for the most part, but Hisoka? The younger boy was too wild to control his primal urge for blood, and they both knew it. Which was why he needed blood now before he lost his mind completely to the bloodlust.

"Give me your money! Now!"

With his mind focused only on getting what hi body craved, Hisoka's sensitive ears immediately picked up the human voice. Some man trying to mug someone from the sound of it. He smirked maliciously. Perfect. Skidding to a halt, he quickly parked the bike and slipped into the alley where the thug had a young woman cowering against a dumpster. "Hey!" Both looked at the teen, astonishment clear on their faces. Probably had something to do with his eyes glowing blood red. "You, get out of here." The woman hesitate for a moment, clearly unsure about leaving a boy to deal with an armed robber. "You deaf? I said move it!" She didn't need to be told a third time, running off so Hisoka was alone with his prey.

The man pointed his knife at the teen now, glowering. "What the hell, you lil' brat?! Who do you think you are." Hisoka grinned, relishing the look on the man's face when he showed off his sharpened canines. Unperturbed by the blade, he lunged at the man, grabbing him by the neck and slamming him up against the wall.

"The last thing you'll ever see," he hissed, tone tinged with insanity. After that, it happened quickly, practiced and precise.
Screams.
Silence.
Blood

Charlotte had grown used to cleaning up the boys', in fact, she had grown quite used to it. The escape into their abode kept her sane and kept her from unnecessary hits from her uncle. On her thumb there was a pale pink scar from where she cut herself the first night working there. The boys reaction to blood was strange, but maybe they were just queasy.

So many thoughts ran through her head as she raced down the highway from school to get to her work, each one significant but confusing. Things with Hisoka had not been going to well, they fought a lot, often yelling at each other and then making snide remarks, but he had not fired her yet. Megumi and her had grown closer, for some reason Charlotte felt obligated to protect the girl.

Her thick hair blew out the window and whipped around her. Over the past month she had gained a few pounds, completing her look. Instead of emaciated she was at the perfect balance between skinny and curvy, her flat stomach was still tone but her curves sat perfectly and filled out proportionality.

She pulled up to the house and stepped out of the car, taking in the autumn air. She sported her autumn clothes instead of shorts. On her perfect frame she wore a dark maroon fitted military jacket with a pair of khakis she rolled up to her mid calf, under the jacket she had on a plain white tank top.

Charlotte walked over to the door and rang the bell, it wasn't required, she could just walk in, but it felt more appropriate to not barge in.

"Ack I am late!" replied Megumi as she ran out of her last class.

She rushed to her car and nearly jumped on in. The car was pretty much a hand-me down from her parents when they recently bought a new car. A least this one was in good working condition. Pulling out she drove to her job, nearly speeding half the time. At least the house was close to her school. She pulled up to see Charlotte was already there.

Megumi couldn't believe it had already been a month. She was a bit surprised to see that her and Charlotte had become good friends. She was closer to her than some of her friends at school, even her sisters. Megumi stayed far from Hisoka when he and Charlotte got at it. She was waiting for the day though when they would stop and make out for she always believed that the two had so much in common. Megumi actually like the guy for despite his hard exterior, Hisoka wasn't a total jerk. She actually like all the brothers. She was still a bit ackward around Hiroki though. She would never admit it but she was liking him more and more. It was obvious though that despite his idol demeanor at school, he was just like any other guy. She knew was in trouble now because she liked his flaws now too.

"It figures, I really end up liking a guy and he still doesn't notice me." she murmured to herself.

Oh Hiroki treated her nicely, but he pretty much treated her the same way as he did the other girls. Also in the back of her mind, Megumi sensed that there was something different about the brothers. She just couldn't put her finger on it. Getting out of her car, she got her things before walking up behind Charlotte. The teen girl looked good in everything she wore. Megumi would never look that good. Today she was in a simple brown vest with a white long sleeved shirt that buttoned up with a pair stonewash jeans.

"Hey Charlotte." Megumi smiled.

Hisoka sighed heavily, tapping his pencil against the desk. Well, it'd finally happened: his Calc teacher had finally gotten him into detention. Apparently she'd gotten fed up with his smart remarks in class, and decided a suitable punishment was to keep him after school for an hour every day that week. Including Friday. And he'd thought she couldn't get any more even. At least he'd managed to survive the first fifty minutes of his solitude, so he was almost home free. Of course, that meant he'd have to go home and deal with Charlotte soon, so it was kind of bittersweet. Shooting a glare at his teacher, the teen went back to his paper, putting a few finishing touches on his picture.

Yeah, that's right. The Mikazuki family's notorious rebel was an artist. It wasn't a fact he liked to broadcast; in fact, no one else knew about this hobby of his. After all, he had a reputation to uphold, and the hell if he was going to let anyone think for one second that he was a softy. It was just something he did as a distraction, though one could say he was pretty good. There was just one problem: as of late, most of his pictures had featured one person whose guts he hated. Three guesses who.

He couldn't explain it, but ever since that first day, not an hour went by that Hisoka didn't think about Charlotte at least once. He'd even caught himself watching her in history class every now and then. It was unbearable! Of course, it was only when they weren't interacting that he acted like this; once they started talking to each other, it was right back to the usual bickering and snarky comments. Nice to know he hadn't completely lost his mind when it came to this girl.

"Alright, Mr. Mikazuki, you're free to go." He didn't need to be told twice, immediately shoving his stuff into his backpack. Before the devil-woman could start lecturing him about appropriate behavior in a classroom environment or some such crap, he was already out the door and thinking only about getting home. Maybe if he drove fast enough, he'd have a few precious moments of peace before Charlotte showed up.

*****

Well, so much for that. By the time he arrived, both Charlotte and Megumi were waiting outside the door. Hisoka groaned. Fanstastic. Now he had to put up with Charlotte's smart mouth all day. If it was up to him, she'd have been fired after day one, but Hiroki wanted to keep her around. He figured it was mostly because she could bake well, and Hiro probably enjoyed having a personal chef. Moron. Rolling his eyes, Hisoka got off his bike and came up behind the girl's ruffling Megumi's hair as he passed. "Hey, Megs." The girl was pretty tolerable, even if she was obviously drooling over the boy's half-brother. Plus, she gave him another thing to annoy Hiroki about. Hisoka's smile turned to a scowl as he turned to the second girl. "Princess," he growled as a greeting, quickly unlocking the door and stepping inside. He didn't want to have to deal with the American any more than he had to today.

Kicking off his shoes and dropping his bag on the floor, he flopped down on the sofa, flipping the TV on. "--with scattered thunder storms in later in the day. In other news, police have still been unable to identify the killer of a twenty-seven year old man. The victim was found in an alley earlier this month, completely drained of blood. Experts have yet to determine whether--. Hisoka switched the channel, rolling his eyes. They were still making a big deal about that? They guy had been a crook; he'd done everyone a favor by getting rid of him.

Charlotte waited a few minutes on the deck, assuming none of the boys were home yet. Just then she recalled Hisoka mentioning something about detention, poor bastard deserved every second of it. Little did she know, most of the time he spent pondering her. In class Charlotte was a relatively a good student, she payed attention and got great grades, but she'd wound up in detention more than once since her parents death. Some kids are just stupid and the model had never been good with dealing with idiocy.

"Hey Charlotte." Megumi smiled.

She turned around to look at her, Megumi was seriously adorable. Whenever she came around Charlotte could not help but think of a kitten or something along those lines, but still the girl had a serious body too, just hadn't filled out yet. Megumi reminded her of herself when she was younger, but that girl was over and done with. To be honest, Charlotte prayed the adorable teen would not have something life changing like she had.

"Hi Megs-" Hisoka came up from behind and ruffled Megumi's hair, sending it into a fluff. When he spoke to her he practically growled.

"Princess." The girl flashed him a small smirk and rolled her eyes. While at school she decided she was going to work on cleaning up the outside of the house and garage, it was the only part nobody had tended to yet. In the bag over her shoulder she carried some clothes she didn't mind getting dirty.

When she walked in she decided against commenting to Hisoka as he seemed so enthralled by the news and went straight to the bathroom and changed. She pulled off her other clothes and put on a pair of short black workout shorts and just left her white tank top on, then laced up her sneakers and headed outside. The time went by incredibly fast, she had the lawn mowed, raked, the hedges trimmed and the deck blown off in less than an hour. Once she finished that, she was hard pressed to find something else to do.

Inside the garage sat Hisoka's magnificently dirty bike, it deserved more attention than he gave it. Charlotte wiped off the excess dirt and found a can of black wax and some clean rags off of the tool rack and began to give he motorcycle some love. When she was on the last part few inches of the tank she paused for a moment and looked down. Her (originally) white tank top was full of black stains, great. Charlotte let out a huff and went back to the last few inches of the bike.

He supposed it just figured: The one day he didn't have to fight with Hiroki over the television, there was absolutely nothing worth watching. Not even a crappy vampire flick to make fun of. After an hour or so of surfing through utter garbage, he turned the TV off and tossed the remote away. God, he was bored. So very, very bored. Wow, he didn't even know it was possible to get this bored. Weird. Finally, he decided to actually do something other than thinking about how bored he was, getting up from the couch and stretching.

Well, for one thing, his bike was due to be cleaned. Thanks to all the detention he'd been serving, he hadn't really had a chance to pay as much attention to his baby. Since it was Friday, though, he figured there was no harm in putting off homework until tomorrow so he could give his bike some much needed love. As it turned out though, he wasn't the only one who'd had that idea. Hisoka froze dead in his tracks at what he saw upon entering the garage.

She was touch his bike. She was touching his bike. Hisoka couldn't really grasp what he was looking at right now. No one ever touched his bike, and for good reason. After getting over the shock, he stormed over and grabbed Charlotte by the arm, rage clear in his face. "What the hell do you think you're doing!?" It didn't matter that she'd done a good job cleaning his bike. All he cared about was the fact that she'd had the nerve, the sheer gall, to even consider messing with it. "How many times do I have to tell you to stay away from my stuff!?"

Charlotte looked the raging bull right in the face. Hisoka reached out and grabbed her arm, tight, there would defiantly be a bruise there, but no one would notice. All she wanted to do was something nice to ease the tension. In an attempt to escape she took a step back, her back pressed up the wall, unfortunate for her there was no escape.

"What the hell do you think you're doing!? How many times do I have to tell you to stay away from my stuff!?"

What made her angry was the fact he had not even acknowledged the fact that the bike looked spectacular. The tips of her fingers began to grow cold from the lack of blood circulation. "Let go of me!" She snapped her arm back and pressed herself up against a wall. Hisoka should know not to corner a cobra, she would not hesitate punching him again. "First off don't you ever touch me, next time you do you will be so sorry." Malice brewed in her eyes, the girl almost puffed up her chest and took a step in his direction to make sure he knew he could not bully her, "Second, I've never touched your precious stuff before." Her words were practically hisses. "Third, I was simply trying to do something nice, because yes, I do have a soul, but it seems your cocky, egotistical, snooty attitude has prevented me from showing you."

The air between them was pure electricity, if there could be a color to it, it would be red. Anger. Passion. Lust. For some strange reason she had the urge to kiss him, it wouldn't be difficult. The simple action of raising her head a few inches would do the job perfectly, but she resisted while a battle of feelings destroyed her on the inside.

Hisoka practically snarled as he pushed Charlotte up against the wall, still possessing a harsh grip on her arm. Cocky? Egotistical!? Was this girl trying to piss him off? 'Cause she was succeeding. At that moment, all the crap he'd had to deal with from her for the past month reached it's pinnacle. This was it, the final straw. He was done playing games with this girl. With his free hand, he grabbed her roughly by the chin, yanked her head up--and slammed his lips onto hers.

Wait. What!? He was kissing her? That wasn't what he'd planned to do. Actually, he wasn't sure what he'd been planning. He'd just acted on instinct, and this was what had happened. Why? The hell if he knew! Heck, he wasn't even sure it could be considered a kiss; it wasn't soft or loving, but rough and full of anger.

...Okay, why was he still kissing her!?

Finally, he was able to pull himself away, staring into her green-and-amber eyes in shock. "I-I...uh..." God, what was he supposed to say? "Sorry, I didn't mean to passionately make out with you." Yeah, that would blow over well. In the end, Hisoka did the first thing he could think of: he ran. Not even waiting for her response, he bolted out of the garage, not stopping until he was safe behind his firmly locked bedroom door. Groaning quietly, he slid to the ground, sitting against the door with his legs curled to his chest. Ugh, what was the matter with him? It was like he had no control over himself anymore, at least when it came to Charlotte. He had no idea what that girl had done to his head, but he wanted it undone. Now.

Charlotte tried her hardest not to let Hisoka take advantage of her like he just had. The boy had no right to ever lay a hand on her. Unfortunately for her she was stuck. Literally, between a wall and the pissy brunette. Her deep eyes stared into his, each shadow snaking around the dark blue streaks in his iris.

The rest happened in slow motion but still to fast. His fingers took ahold of her chin and (practically) yanked it to his lips, pressing them aggressively to hers. Just like before she aspired to hold her ground and.... kissed him back? Normally first kisses were sweet and romantic, but this was far from, consisting of malice, anger, and passion. Dirty thoughts ran through her mind.

He felt good on her lips, it worked flawlessly. All the hate had brought perfection. Then it was over, both of their faces in total awstruck. Before either of them could speak Hisoka ran out. Leaving her alone in the garage. She took a minute to gather herself before sitting in the corner. Unable

It took Hisoka a good while to calm himself down and get his thoughts straightened out. There was just so much about this situation he simply couldn't wrap his head around. Not only had he kissed Charlotte, a terrifying concept in an of itself, but more shocking than that, she'd kissed him back. Seriously, what the hell!? He hated the American girl, and she clearly had no love for him in return. So why had that happened at all. There should've been yelling, screaming, even a few punches thrown. But kissing? That was far from what was supposed to be happening between two people who couldn't stand each other.

Actually... he didn't necessarily hate Charlotte. Sure, she got on his nerves on a daily basis, but she wasn't all bad. He admired his spunk, and he couldn't deny that she was attractive (especially not the way she flaunted her body like that). But that was as far as it went; admiration and physical attraction. Other than that, there was nothing but animosity between the two.

So again, the question stood: Why had he kissed her!?

SIghing heavily, Hisoka stood up and raked his fingers through his hair. He really needed to get a grip. What had happened between them in the garage was a fluke, just a whole lot of rage and frustration coming to a head in a really weird, unexpected way. It'd just been a momentary lapse of judgement on both their parts, one that wasn't going to happen again. Best to just forget about it. With this mindset, he headed back downstairs and flopped back onto the couch, determined to find something to ease his mind. If Charlotte brought up what had happened, he'd just tell her it was a mistake and leave it at that. After all, it wasn't as though it'd meant anything.

Hiroki came home, later than usual. He was at a soccer practice, and the game kind of went on for a long time. When he got home, the first thing he saw was Hisoka run full speed into the house. Raising his eyebrows, Hiroki proceeded into the house. "Hey Megumi." he greeted, before walking into the kitchen. "What's up with Hisoka?" he asked pouring himself a cup of water. Then he noticed Charlotte wasnt here. He had a weird feeling something was up with those two, which was probably the reason why his half-brother just bolted up the stairs.

Gulping down the glass of water, he turned his head so that he was looking at Megumi. It's been a while since the girls started working here, so he was pretty comfortable with them. "So, did anything interesting happen in school today?" he asked, just to make conversation.

Placing the cup in the sink, he walked over to the couch, and took a seat. Hiroki tapped the seat besides him, indicating for her to sit there. "Come have a seat. There's nothing to do.. and it's too early for me to be doing homework. Lets just have a nice conversation." he suggested with a small smile. Too early to do homework? No it was more like he was too lazy to do it. Who liked homework anyways?

When Hisoka greeted Megumi, she grinned. He always seemed to treat her younger than she was. She didn't mind, at least she wasn't ignored. After going inside, Megumi worked on her homework. She had asked on her 2nd day if it was okay for her to work on homework for an hour if need be before working, which was fine with the guys. She didn't have that much to do and was finished in less than 30 minutes. She looked outside at that time to see Charlotte working on the outside. Smiling, she went about dusting and vaccuming the floor before getting started on the laundry.

It was during that time she saw Hisoka go to the door that connected with the garage. Minutes later, she thought she heard shouting. Looks like those two were at it again, but this time it sounded serious. Concerned, Megumi peaked the door open in time to see Hisoka kiss Charlotte. She gapped at the sight before closing the door softly. Megumi might have a curious soul, but she was never a peeping tom. Moments later Hisoka came into the house and ran up the stairs. At the same time, Hiroki came home, looking hot as usual. Megumi was a bit distracted by Hisoka's behavior when she heard Hiroki speak to her.

"Uhh, well, . . ." she didn't know if she should tell him what he just saw.

She almost mentioned it when Hisoka came back downstairs and flopped on the couch again. Looking at Hiroki she answered one his questions.

"Nothing much except working on the yearbook. What about you Hiroki?" she asked him.

When he sat down on the couch next to the one Hisoka was on, Megumi blushed a bit, but took a deep breath and went and sat down next to him. While she had gotten use to talking to him, being close to him was still going to take some time getting use to. ~Don't clam up Megumi!~ she scolded herself mentally.

Charlotte took her time in the garage, the cold cement sent chills up her spine, but it brought her back into reality. The kiss mean absolutely nothing. She still disliked him all the same and a little peck did not change a thing. Well, it was way more than a little peck, but still. Once she pulled herself into sanity she stood up and pulled adjusted herself in the mirror by the door, fixing her hair, shirt, and.... lip stick. Hisoka was chilling on one couch, and Megumi was sitting with Hiroki on the other. A smile pranced over her face, it was easy to feel the emotions radiating off of Megumi.

Seeing Hisoka made her lips tingle in a weird way, she wanted more. No no.. The girl questioned her mind ravenously. Are you stupid? That was just a spur of the moment thing, get that rude ass out of your mind... now Charlotte. No matter what she scolded herself with, the thought of him kissing her still ran rampant in her mind. Charlotte had already planned on ordering a pizza and had it ready to be delivered, but she needed to escape the house.

"I'm going down to the pizza place, any suggestions?" Charlotte raised one eyebrow, her old attitude returning once again.

Hisoka could tell that Hiroki and Megumi knew something was off about him. The younger boy was a lot of things; good at acting was not one of them. Luckily, neither of them brought it up, much to focused on one another to pay him much mind. He couldn't help but smirk to himself as he heard Megumi's heart rate pick up just a fraction. Within the first week, Hisoka had figured out that the girl had a huge crush on his half-brother. He'd considered letting Hiroki know and teasing him mercilessly about it, but in the end, he'd opted instead for laughing at how completely oblivious the guy was behind his back.

His expression faded, however, when Charlotte reentered the room, strolling right over to the nearby mirror. He pointedly looked away, ignoring both her and the fact that he knew the reason why she looked a bit of a mess. 'Just ignore her,' he instructed himself, glaring at the television set with the utmost determination. No matter how much he tried to do that, though, all Hisoka could think about was how perfectly their lips had fit together, how amazing her lips had tasted-- The teen shook his head violently, banishing those thoughts. What was the matter with him today!?

"Just one: get it fast. I'm starving," he replied to her question in a clipped tone. Honestly, he'd rather she take her time; the longer she was far away from him, the better. He really needed to get his head straight, and that was apparently quite difficult to do with the American around. And there was no way he was going to run off again just because she was in the room. He was here first, and the hell if he was going to be the first to crack.

Megumi turned sharply to see that Charlotte had come back inside. Boy was she out of it sometimes. She looked at her friend and it appeared that she was back to normal, but Megumi wondered if that was really true. She knew enough about Charlotte that the young lady was good at holding her emotions at bay. Just because she looked okay, didn't mean that she was okay. And when she said she was going to get pizza, Megumi raised an eyebrow at that. Mostly they did the cooking here and it was pretty uncommon for them to eat out.

She must want some time to think or be by herself,Megumi thought.

"Well, you know me, no peppers." Megumi said.

"Just one: get it fast. I'm starving,"

Charlotte simply nodded to him, and already predicted what Megumi would say. "No peppers, I know." She threw her a genuine smile. One that would light up a room, it was a rare occasion, but Megs seemed to get a lot of those kinds of smiles. "Make it snappy and no peppers. Cool, I'll be back in a bit." She exited the family room all to quickly and got into the car.

Being around Hisoka would not make this any easier. The months time she had spent with him she had learned a few things. One, when he ignored her, it meant he was thinking about her, good or bad. Two, he would go to any extend to make her think he was actually ignoring her. Three, he was a really good kisser. Once in her car she took her sweet time driving to the pizza shop. Taking the back roads really relieved the pressure on her, each tree that passed was another step further from the tension. Being alone felt good.

Once inside the pizza shop she stared at the menu before stepping up to the counter. The kid behind it must have been a few years older than her, probably in college, and very good looking. The perfect kind of thing to get her mind off Hisoka. His platinum blonde hair wisped into his dark chocolate eyes, and to top it all off he was tan and built. He seemed familiar, he must be a sibling from one of the kids at school.

"Welcome to Pizzaria Perfection- Yea.. I know that's lame..." His lips stretched over his pearly teeth in a heart melting smile. The name tag over his right chest pocket read Damien, and he certainly looked the part. Her heart beat quickened up a little bit.

"Hm, so Damien, what's good here?" She raised an eyebrow and began to work her magic, sure it was a little shallow, but she had to stop thinking about Hisoka somehow, and this guy was at her disposal.

"Well I get off work in ten minutes- I could show you what's good then?" Damien offered another smile, this time accompanied with a wink.

"Well I get off work once I deliver this pizza, so how about you make me three large pizza's, one meat lovers, one plain cheese, and one veggie. Once those are done, you can bring those to my car, we can go deliver those.-" Charlotte smirked, "Then I can see what's on the menu." She slid the credit card on to the counter and let him ring it up then walked to her car and waited on the boy.

He was right on time, well of course he was. Charlotte was offering a few hours of a good time, what guy would deny that? Once in the car he leaned forward and planted a massive kiss on her. It was nothing like Hisoka. It felt wrong and did the exact opposite of what she wanted, but maybe Hisoka would be able to smell the cologne on her, and no one ever said jealousy on Hisoka's part would be a bad thing. So, she leaned into this new Damien kid, and kissed him back.

For the next fifteen minutes she tried to push Hisoka out of her mind, but it still would not work. Damien was a fabulous kisser, but his hands on her body just felt to weird. Finally she pulled away from him, "Hey, i'll meet you at Starbucks. Okay?"

The poor boy was to much into it to realize anything, he got out from the car and closed the door, throwing her a very excited goofy grin as she drove off. She spent the rest of the ride thinking about how much of a hussy she had just been, but it didn't matter. She smelled like mens body spray and Hisoka would not find humor in her little stunt. Though, she prayed he found some jealousy.

She finally arrived at the house and walked in, going through the dining room and setting the pizza boxes on the counter before looking back over to the group. Maybe three pizzas was a little much, but the boys new how to eat, so it was obvious it would not be going to waste.

"Alright, pizza is here." Charlotte ran her hands through her thick hair and it fell into place down her back, the scent of chamomile and mens cinnamon body wash floated around her.

(long post, forgive me)

((Are you kidding? This is great!))

It'd been over thirty minutes. The pizza place was not that far away. So what the hell was taking her so long!? Hisoka sat on the couch with his arms crossed--sulking more than anything, really--not having moved since she'd left. He was only barely aware of what was playing on TV at the moment, and honestly couldn't care less either way. The teen was far to busy forcing himself not to go out and look for her. What the hell did he care what happened to Charlotte? She could be dead in a ditch somewhere, for all he cared. He was only making a big deal about it was because she had dinner with her. At least, that's what he tried to tell himself. Deep down, he couldn't deny being just the least bit worried.

That faded immediately, though, when Charlotte burst in with a stack of pizza boxes. "'Bout time," he growled, stalking into the kitchen behind her. Not one to wait when food was around, he rudely reached past as she was setting up the boxes on the counter and grabbed two slices of meat lovers out of the box. Maybe it was his way of proving that being so close to her had no effect on him, even if it totally did. For the life of him, Hisoka couldn't help but inconspicuously breathe in the now familiar sent of the shampoo she used.

When he inhaled, though, he smelled something other than the usual chamomile and vanilla.

"Any particular reason you smell like Old Spice?" Though he tried to sound indifferent, in his mind Hisoka was violently cursing out whatever guy had had enough nerve to get his crappy cologne all over Charlotte. Honestly, he couldn't decide what was worse about the situation: the fact that someone had gotten that close to Charlotte, or the fact that he actually cared. He jammed a bite of pizza into his mouth, trying to placate the green-eyed monster inside of him.

Charlotte heard Hisoka's steps behind her but did not bother to turn around. He almost seemed if he was testing her, the way he leaned in to close to (rudely) snatch a piece of pizza just as she had barley finished opening the box. The brunette was really pushing his limits, but for now, all the passions was out of her system, so there was no need to act on it. She pulled a piece of meat lovers pizza from the box and slide up onto the counter, facing Hisoka.

"Any particular reason you smell like Old Spice?"

A smile formed in her mind. She took a bite of the pizza, it was really good. In fact, everything at Hisoka's house tasted really good. Their house was the reason she'd gained a few pounds though in a good way. Her voice was almost a purr as she spoke to him, "When my personal escapades become your business i'll be more than willing to tell you." The girl took another bite of the pizza slowly, thinking for a moment more. A pondering look crossed her god given features, "I thought he was using Axe.. good nose though-" She cracked him a smile and jumped off of the counter, standing face to face with him for a moment giving him the look. Nose to belly button, and looking up, almost puppy dog eyes, but just like the one other time she had used it on him, those eyes meant more. They were hungry for something she (secretly) only wanted from Hisoka.

Before he could say anything she broke the lustful look and took another bite of her pizza, retreating into the family room. Charlotte immediately sat down on the love seat and stretched out, preventing from an annoying Hisoka from sitting next to her.

(Thanks XD)

And there it was: the gorgeous stare he'd learned to fear. Hisoka could already feel a blush spreading across his cheeks. You'd think he'd have gotten used to that after a month, but no. That look still got to him, no matter how many times she pulled it on him. That being as frequently as possible. He suspected Charlotte did that for the sole purpose of being able to watch him squirm. It also didn't help that her trademark expression suddenly reminded him of what had happened between them...The teen shook his head, snapping himself out of his trance and glaring at her as she departed. If the girl thought she was getting of the hook just by flirting with him, she had another thing coming.

Chomping on his pizza moodily, he tried to focus on eating instead of the obnoxious she-devil as he followed her into the living room. Usually, they'd eat in the kitchen like normal, somewhat civilized people. When pizza was involved, though, it didn't really matter where they ate, provided no one made too much of a mess. Which meant Hisoka was given the opportunity

Or he would have, had Charlotte not purposely taken his usual spot. The teen scowled; she was really pushing her luck right now. "I just don't know if it' appropriate for one of our maids to moonlight as a hooker, that's all," he quipped, sitting down right on top of her legs. Yes, it was uncomfortable, but it couldn't be that enjoyable for her, either. Besides, maybe acting like an immature kid would draw his mind away from more...mature thoughts.

Hisoka always fell for the look. No matter what time or place she always received the perfect reaction. By a fraction of a second his breath would quicken, his eyes would dialate as they searched her face... and body for some sort of answer. Then, he would become lost, in the way she only had one dimple when she half smirked, the way her multicolored eyes pleaded for something unknown. It only took her a minute to realize how often she used the look. In fact, she had used it about an hour ago, but instead of a look full of excitement it had been a look filled with hate.

The angst filled teen followed Charlotte into the living room, not hesitating to plop right on her calves. It hurt but flinching was not an option. All up and down her legs were bruises from being pushed around by her uncle, and tub o'lard Hisoka wasnt helping.

"I just don't know if it is appropriate for one of our maids to moonlight as a Hooker, that's all."

Charlotte had already concocted up the perfect response, but for that moment her pizza deserved more attention. "Oh Hisoka-" She toyed with his name carefully, "hookers get paid, I'm more of a charity worker." Betwee n the couch and the bull were Charlotte's poor legs, screaming for an escape, "you're kind of fat... I never would have pinned you for weighing as much as baby rhinoceros." She shrugged and took a bite of pizza.

Megumi was beginning to worry one what was taking Charlotte so long when she finally returned. She would have asked if anything happened but Hisoka said something first. She got up to go get her own piece of pizza when she heard a bit of their conversation. Old spice? Megumi found this puzzling when she got a small wiff of the scent Charlotte had on her and caught the jealous look in Hisoka's eyes. She shooked her head at their little games and just staid silent. She would only butt in if things got too out of hand. She got herself a slice of pizza before getting a plate for Hiroki. She handed him a plate before sitting down next to him and started eating.

"Thank you Charlotte." she grinned.

She loved pizza but didn't always get to have it. In fact, she had pizza more times in the past month than an entire year at home. She wished she could spend more time here. This place was starting to feel like a home to her, more so than her parents' place, and that was sad, but Megumi never told anyone how unhappy and lonely she was there for she never wanted to let anyone know about her problems.

Hisoka glared at Charlotte, shifting so he could get at least moderately comfortable. "I'll have you know that's all muscles sweetheart," he quipped, kicking his feet up on the coffee table. "Besides, you've got boney knees, so we're even." Smirking, he grabbed the remote and started flipping through channels for a movie or something. He was lucky enough to land on the first Blade movie, right at the opening scene with the vampire rave. He smiled; this movie wasn't nearly as horrible as other vampire flicks he'd seen. And besides, Westley Snipes could kick some serious ass!

"Oh, I see," Hisoka mused, rolling his eyes at her explanation (and trying not to react to the way Charlotte had practically purred his name). "So you're just a slut then." Yes, that was a little below the belt, but what else was he supposed to call someone who just put herself out there like a plate of free samples? Besides, he was determined to with this battle of wits. God knew he'd lost enough in the past moth to last him a lifetime.

Charlotte wanted to hear his remark, more than just about anything. Well, there was one thing she would much rather be doing with him, but that moment was long gone.. probably forever. He flicked on the movie Blade one of the best vampire movies out there. In her opinion, if there were vampires, they would simply be as epic as the ones in that movie, though she was still a sucker for Dracula. She had a thing for mysterious romantic men and Dracula fit the bill, as well did Hisoka, except for vampires were not real. The thought of him being a mythical creature fit him, except for according to new "rumors" vampires sparkled in the sun, but Hisoka did not sparkle under any circumstance.

"I'll have you know that's all muscles sweetheart, besides, you've got boney knees, so we're even."

Sure. She did have bony knees which were not known about until sat on. Even? They were far from ever; neither of them would stop at even either. "Actually I don't..." Charlotte, very obviously (on purpose), ran her jungle eyes over his body, taking in every inch then raised her eyes back to his and shot him a wink and bit her lower lip. It was fairly easy to make Hisoka squirm, and in the past month Charlotte's flirting skills (which were already excellent) got ten times better by just messing with the poor ant under her microscope.

"Oh, I see, so you're just a slut then."

No, defiantly not a slut. In fact, she never went around kissing guys like she just had. It was his fault, or at least that is what she kept telling herself. Being called a slut was nothing new; it had actually become her uncle's favorite insult as of recently. Being called that hurt, Hisoka did not know her. If he had met her six months before she would have never been acting like this towards him, but then again, six months ago her life was perfect and so was her personality. "You sound like a broken record, can you come up with something a wee bit more original?-" Her comment sounded bored, but not annoyed because it was true. Charlotte was so used to hearing it the word lost it's sting. "Just to keep things more entertaining? Girls like me get bored when there is nothing to do, or someone to do." She wiggled her knees under him and laughed a tiny bit, leaning her torso back against the pillow.

Hisoka scowled, glaring at the screen. She was doing it again. He was starting to get really sick of her constant flirting. Whether it was towards him or some random gut, it seriously got on his nerves. Why would a girl as strong and independent as Charlotte even need to stoop so low as to-- Wait? Strong? Independent? Where the hell did that come from? Well, to be fair, he'd never seen her go quietly without a fight. And he still flinched at the thought of that punch she'd landed on him that first night. So yes, she was both of those things. But she was also obnoxious, tempestuous, and couldn't keep her mouth shut if her life depended on it.

Case in point: "You sound like a broken record, can you come up with something a wee bit more original? Just to keep things more entertaining? Girls like me get bored when there is nothing to do, or someone to do."

The boy jumped a little as she shifted her legs underneath him, causing him to squirm in a literal sense. Hisoka glared at the American, but slowly a mischievous grin slid over his features. The same one that he'd gotten right before pulling a prank that had nearly resulted in a broken jaw. Keeping his seat on the Charlotte's legs, he carefully leaned over so their faces were a few inches apart, gripping the back of the couch to keep him upright. In this position, he could've easily kissed her if he wanted to. "That so? Well, maybe I can make this a little more entertaining for you, eh?" Hisoka knew he was getting into a dangerous game here, especially with both Hiroki and Megumi in the room. But if she could play it, that so could he. 'Let's see just how much our little meeting in the garage really effected you...'
