This is unreal. The same three words kept replaying in Kassidy's head, nearly making her dizzy. She honestly couldn't believe everything that had happened to them in the past twenty-four hours. First Elise showed up at her house at 2am, holding a suspicious bloody knife, in the middle of a rainstorm. Naturally she let her inside to see what the problem was, without bombarding her with questions about her unexpected visit. She had killed Hunter. Kasi wasn't hurt by the shocking information, she never did like him and wasn't surprised when she heard that he was abusive. No, it was the fact that her friend had just committed a murder, and needed someone to help her dispose of the body. It was her best friend, she wasn't going to let her handle the aftermath alone, and she certainly wasn't going to let her run away by herself. No Kassidy volunteered to go with her, leaving the life she'd been living for seventeen years behind. It was going to be a new adventure, that's how she chose to look at it.

"Well, what should we do now El?" Kassidy looked to her friend, hoping she knew what their next move should be, while eating a handful of Skittles. They had managed to hitchhike all the way to Pennsylvania without getting murdered or sold into sex trafficking, so she counted them both lucky. The only problem was they needed to get all the way to Arizona where her cousin lived. Kassidy made sure to bring some money along, so at the very least it would be a while before they went hungry. On the downside, they were about 2548 miles away from their destination, and walking on foot it would take more than Kasi was willing to walk to get there. "Wait I need to rest for a second." The brunette huffed and knelt down against the grimy brick wall of what looked like a bar on the outskirts of Pennsylvania. She noticed a group of rather drunk looking, older and much bigger, men a few feet away from them and sighed.

Kassidy prayed they would just stay over there and leave them alone. The last thing they needed was to be cornered by a bunch of sloppy drunks. It was a shame the group had noticed them, and apparently they were going to do just what Kasi was hoping they wouldn't. What luck.

"You have ID, son?" Rumbled out of the throat of a meaty, tall, tattoo'd liquor store cashier. "You aint' getting any liquor without ID."

"ID? Come on man, does it look like I'm a day under twenty one?" came a reply from an equally tattoo'd, black haired, six foot two man. "Come on bro, just give me one vodka. I'll do my thing, you can do your thing." The man, Zach, had a bottle of Stolichnaya vodka in each hand, both rested on the counter. He leaned forward slightly before offering, "look, I'll even pay double. Triple?"

"Get out of my store, son," was all the response Zach had gotten out of the annoyed cashier. For about three minutes Zach had been bantering with him up until this point. He wasn't trying to buy any liquor, he just wanted to mess with the guy. He didn't have an ID, or a license, or any form of identification for that matter, not even a birth certificate.

"Alright, alright. Whatever. See ya' later guy," Zach chuckled playfully, turning around and walking towards the door. He set one of the bottles on a shelf on his way out, still holding the other in his hand. Letting out a small laugh, he strolled out of the bar, with his free booze in hand infront of him. Casually he made his way over to a bench across the street and sat down setting the bottle next to his left foot. He retrieved his ipod from one of his pockets and powered it on, scrolling through the menus to find the song he was looking for. "mm here you are," he said aloud to himself, as "This Calling" by "All that Remains" began to pour through the speakers of the headphones around his neck.

Zach leaned back and picked up the bottle, opened it, and took a sip. "Wild Cherry vodka, what would I do without you," he asked himself as he gazed blankly across the street. A couple of young girls had caught his attention, as had a group of drunks. He frowned slightly knowing what was probably about to go down.

Elise walked quitly beside Kassidy trying her best not to think about what had just happend.I'm going to end up just like them..was the only think she could think as she fought back tears. She even had a hard time believing what she had just did..Killing hunter and then dragging her Best Friend down with her! Elise felt..well ashamed of herself..she felt like she had just doomed her best friend to this kind of life even through Kassidy had; had a decent life.

"Well, what should we do now El?"

Elise popped a few Limonheads into her mouth before wrapping her arms around her damp cold chest,it had stopped raining but they did not mean both girls had not been soaked when it was raining. " I don't know Kaz..Maybe she could get another ride on the back of a truck. If were lucky someone could be goin our way.." Elise sighed and shook her head her bright red damp hair sticking to her face,She knew it was dobutfull, They were over 2548 miles away from their destination; In other words they had a very long way to go.

"Wait I need to rest for a second."

Elise nodded also kneeling down against the grimy brick wall,The red head only had on a pare of black sweat pants that were cut down to her ankles ( and they clung to her legs) and a black tanktop with a gray hoodie over it. and it's not like she packed much she she would have limited clothes..big time. Elise took in deep breaths before glancing at the drunken men that were moving their way. In a panic Elise pulled Kassidy put with one hand her other hand already pulling out the pocket knife from her bag. " Kaz if they get any closer run. " she wispered her heart racing the huge drunk guys were coming closer..maybe they would pass? Elise knew better then that..

Dayton smiled as Zach was pestering the man in the liqour store. It got old after the first twenty minutes, so he walked off into the middle of an open field. Looking around to see the natural beauty in it, shutting his eyes tightly to comepletely change the scenary. The trees are now towers and the bushes transformed into horses. Dayton knew he was born in the wrong time period, all this fast paced life often gave him a run for the money. Life was spinning out of control and nothing he could do seemed to help the fact of the matter.

Abruptly pulled from his dream of a nightmare by Zach's chuckling. He shook head watching Zach sit and take a drink of what must be stolen liqour by the way they had been argueing for what seemed like forever. 'Seeing us two roaming the streets side by side must be an odd sight for others.' thought Dayton. They were nothing alike, Zach is all black and he looks rockerish and what-not. Dayton on the other had is femanine, poetic, and wears fitted blue jeans with a white v-neck shirt.

Looking up Dayton walks over to the bench, as he leans against the back he sees the guys surrounding the girls across from them. A little worried he nudges Zach on the back of his shoulder, "Dude, maybe we should go help. You know whats going to happen to them if we don't." He walked around the bench waiting to be backed up by his friend.

"That would be such a bother, though.." Zach said drawing out his last two words, "Besides, somebody could get hurt, man. Bigtime. Bunch of drunk guys, probably carrying weapons, and just us two? Those drunks could die!" he continued, the humorous irony of his joke being that it was misleading up until 'those drunks could die.' As Dayton made his way around the bench Zach had scooted up so he was sitting on the back-rest part of the bench, his feet on the actual chair part. He paused his ipod and stuffed it back in his pants pocket.

"But yeah, I hear you. I don't want two counts of rape added to my conscious. Bad for Karma." He put a hand on Dayton's shoulder and pulled himself up, "Just try not to get stabbed, or beer-bottle shanked, hehe." Zach began to approach the two females and the drunkards, and while doing so, spotted one of the women had a pocketknife. Not that one knife would do much good against a group of drunk men.

"Hey, hey, hey, what's going on over here?" Zach boasted at a somewhat obnoxious noise level(to steal the attention of the drunk men) once they were maybe fifteen feet from the group. "You fine gentlemen aren't trying to get unruly with these lovely gals, are you?" He glazed his eyes over the drunkards, which had turned most of their attention towards Dayton and him.

Kassidy was on her feet now, poised to run for her life if it became necessary. She glanced sideways at Elise and muttered quietly, "get ready to run." She was just about to sprint away, leaning forward and everything, but then a loud voice not coming from the group captured her attention. She turned and saw another dark haired male approaching their general direction. She narrowed her eyes, thinking of a new plan of action. If the drunks got in a fight with the two other strangers then she and Elise could make a run for it and dodge yet another bad situation. Kasi started inching further and further away out of the alley and back towards the road, but she stopped when one of the older guys yelled out something too slurred for her to understand and the group started going after the other guys, clearly intent on fighting. The brunette hesitated for a moment then her brain finally pushed her to start moving again. Kassidy grabbed Elise's wrist and started pulling her away, she didn't want either of them to accidentally get caught up in the fight. Though, since her friend had killed someone only a few hours ago, Kasi was sure Elise might actually be able to hold her own. She would never say it aloud, Kasi promised her that she wouldn't bring it up.

Elise watched as the other guys walked up to the drunks and Elise gasped grabbing Kassidy's wrist and stopping her from pulling her. " Kaz their gonna fight them! we have to do something to help! they'll get kill Kaz! " Elise screamed pulling away from her friend, she wanted to help the strangers badly after all they were trying to help them, why just leave them? Elise started back to the stranger and the drunks pocket knife in hand. she did not drag Kassidy with her in fear her best friend would get hurt..or worst. Elise picked up a brick off the side walk and yelled " HEY! LEAVE THEM ALONE!! " and with that she threw the brick making it smack one of the drunks in the legs which made the drunk grunt and fall over." sorry.." she mumbled glancing at the man on the ground groaning in pain. But..her plan did not work..in fact the rest of the drunks started to her. Elise yelped and pulled Kassidy with her till they were behind the too guys who had been trying to help them. " Hi,can we run now? " she said to both of them her eyebrows raised.

Zach stood waiting beside Dayton for something to go down, not really wanting to antagonize the drunks to fight. He noticed that one of the girls, the one with the knife, urged the other girl that they had to help before making her way over to them, then she threw a rather large brick at one of the drunks. It smacked him in the leg and smashed into the ground, the drunk man falling next to it in pain. Apparently they didn't like that a whole lot, given that they all charged the girls angrily after it happened, and the girls who had ran behind him and Dayton asked if they could run now. He looked over his shoulder back at them and nodded, "Yeah, go run inside the store and hide!" he commanded, knowing that the bartender would probably shoot the drunks if they tried to assault the girls inside his store. One of the drunks had tackled Zach before sending a flurry of sloppy and misguided punches at the mans face. From the way he fought it was obvious that he was impaired. Zach pushed the man off and got on top of him, returning the punches back at the drunkard.

Dayton watched as the girl threw the brick and the whole fiasco. They ran behind them and as he herd Zach's voice be as stern as he had ever heard it startled him. Out of nowhere the drunks started attacking, Dayton picked up a rock to make a better impact in his hits. As he knocked the smallest one down and Zach was now on top of the other. The guys were so messed up that once they were down there was no way they would attempt to have another go. Dayton stood and walked out of the alley not waiting for Zach, one he was out he looked over his shoulder and yelled "Come on Zach, these girls must be shaken up pretty bad." He walked into the store to find the girls but got a little distracted with yet another cutomer fighting with the store clerk. He could tell he was getting aggrivated by how red is face seemed to be, after a chuckle he looked over and seen the girls. "Are you alright?"

Kassidy stood there and gawked as she watched Elise throw a brick at one of the guys and stifled a laugh when he fell over. It served him right for being a creep. Her entertainment was short lived however, and allowed her friend to drag her behind the other two guys. When the raven-haired one told them to go inside Kasi was happy to oblige him and wasted no time in retreating indoors. "Phew that was a close one." She took a deep breath and leaned against a shelf, looking at Elise. "Lady Luck must be on our side tonight, who would've expected to strangers to save us just in time." She stopped and laughed, remembering Elise hitting one guy with a brick. "That was a nice throw." She was happy, giddy even, it must have been from lack of sleep and constant worry. Despite their situation, things weren't as bad as she thought they would be. When they first decided to run Kassidy couldn't help but think they'd be in some kind of high speed chase with the police, like she always saw one TV. Luckily, nothing like that happened. The girl stood up straight and smiled, filled with relief when she saw that the guys seemed to be okay. "We're fine, thanks so much for helping us. I didn't want to have to break out my Tae Kwon Do moves on those poor guys."

The drunk guys seemed to all be in fetal position laying on the ground, too incapacitated (inebriated, maybe?) to even get up. Zach felt no pity in leaving them in pain in the wet alleyway, out in the open, it's there fault for getting hammered if they thought what they were doing was a good idea. Now don't get me wrong, Zach loves getting wasted as much as the next guy, but he has limits.

He made his way back into the bar. He looked over at the bartender whom he was arguing with earlier, who seemed to be arguing with someone else now. "Bro, you gotta start cutting people off," he spoke to the Bartender, who just shrugged, not really caring to ask what he was talking about or what went on out there. Zach walked over and stood next to Dayton. He couldn't help but smile and chuckle a little when one of the girls made a joke about her Tae Kwon Do. "Yeah, we definitely wouldn't have wanted you to kill them or anything with your deadly skills."

Elise smiled at Kassidy and her jokes before turning to the strangers. " Thanks for your help,we'll be going now.." Elise mumbled as she stared to pull on her friends arm so they could get outta there after all they did not need to deal with another drunk seeing to the fact that one of the guys was charying Vodka around.. Elise headed for the door only glancing at some of the wines on the way out. She kept pulling her friend not really careing if they were being followed of it they were going back outside for somthing else to find a way to kill them. For all Elise knew Hunter had or had not been found yet..she wondered if anyone would think of her,if anyone would miss her..She was sure a hand full of people would be missing Kassidy and another hand full of people would be confused to why she ran away..Elise sighed slowing slightly. Maybe she should just send Kassidy back...

Kassidy grinned at the guy with the black hair when he made a comment about her 'deadly skills' then thanked them both again when Elise decided it was time for them to leave. "Thanks again for all the help you guys." She waved at them while Elise led her back outside. It wasn't until they were back outside that she realized how increasingly tired she was getting. When her friend slowed down she tilted her head with a questioning look on her face. "What's wrong El?" Besides the fact that she killed her boyfriend, they were on the run, and had nearly gotten jumped a few minutes ago; Kasi was worried about her friend. "I think maybe we should find somewhere to rest for a while, we can take a break and start back later." She hadn't thought about what her parents were probably thinking right now, she knew they had to notice she was gone. Were the police at Hunter's house taking pictures of his dead body? She cringed at the thought and just hoped her parents would be okay and wouldn't worry too much about her. "Don't stress yourself out, we're going to be fine." She gave her friend's hand a reassuring squeeze and put her best smile on. She wasn't exactly sure if she believed her own words, but if it made Elise feel better then it was okay.
