Luca Martin Feygor

Theme 2 Music

Gender::
Male

Age::
17

Rank::
Noble

Sexuality::
Heterosexual

Appearance::
Like his rank suggests, Luca is a noble and has the rugged charm to go along with it. Standing relatively tall (180 cm) and well built, Luca has a sublime presence matched by his river blue eyes. Young, yet somewhat rough, his messy black hair and sharp features lend well to his animated expressions. Luca can look good in anything, although he rarely makes the effort to do so. Frequently caught wearing casual clothes, Luca is a master of disguise and blends in well with any setting.

Personality::
Luca is nothing but an image, an aspiration. Cheerful, kind and somewhat mischievous, this is the façade Luca presents at all times. In this fashion, Luca often appears to be insincere as he glosses over comments or replies with a snide remark. Never one to remain silent, Luca isn’t shy either. He is obtrusive yet secretive, jovial yet sly.

Luca is smart also, his ability to analyse and calculate situations has stunned even some of the best scholars in the academy. Yet behind the courteous smiles and tomfoolery lies a sinister, subtle existence. Luca's emotions are like a fine wire, in a snap his personality can go from cheerful to intimidating. Nothing pronounced like the rage of a psychotic, but rather like the suffocating atmosphere of looking into a mirror. Luca has an ethical code of sorts, defined by his strong albeit flawed, sense of justice. This is abolished the moment Luca snaps. As his mood changes, so to does his actions. Luca's mind has never fully recovered since the incident from his 9th birthday and he is still deeply troubled by it. Perhaps the most frightening part of Luca’s personality though is his resolve. That he would stop at nothing to achieve his mission or goals.

Skills::
Information & data gathering - A result of his amazing memory and his attention to detail.
Mixture of street fighting & martial arts - Contrary to his charming nature, Luca was quite the delinquent. He has a keen sense of handling himself in close combat ever since his dad, an ex-soldier, began beating him. The real truth behind his strength lies in his ability to adapt. It's uncertain when this began but for a long time now Luca has been purposefully using Blue Horror's sensory abilities on himself to train and heighten his own sensory thresholds. However, if possible, Luca always attempts to resolve conflicts diplomatically first.
Cooking - Having taken up cooking for his grandparents, Luca has become quite the masterchef.

Name of Bond::
Blue Horror

Race of Bond::
Demon - Vassago

Personality of Bond::
Blue horror is an enigma, a disturbing existence that shouldn’t exist by all rights. His relationship with Luca seems to be purely based on mutual necessity rather than the typical bond shared between humans and their Bonds. The Blue horror is a demon, or perhaps it is a mythological creature. Barely humanoid, it is a mass of rippling, blue tinged flesh with a chaotic mixture of limbs of various sizes. He wears runic red robes which seem to writh with a life of their own, swirling freely and openly, its very presence seems to warp reality around it. Preferring to travel alone, Luca is rarely seen with his Bond. Indeed, many often assume that his bond was simply killed. Luca hides the Blue Horror's presence at all times and keeps its true form a secret in public. Whether this is because Luca doesn't want to scare people or simply doesn't want to deal with the trouble of revealing the Blue horror's terrifying form is unknown. If necessary he simply covers his Bond in another set of heavy robes to hide its disquieting appearance.

Blue horror stands a good head taller than most humans (235 cm). It is an insidious creature whose form is born from the things of nightmares. Ironically, in contrast to its appearance, the Blue Horror is highly intelligent and if anything, much more honest and open than Luca. The Blue horror has an excessive appetite for learning and spends most of its time reading.

Skills of Bond::
Teleportation - Has a limited range of 100m, useful for getting to class if running late. It's not a traditional teleporting, but rather, Luca or the Blue horror must swap positions with inanimate objects they've come into contact with before, although Blue has much more freedom over this ability that Luca.
Gluttony – For brief periods of time, Blue Horror can choose to enhance or rob a being of up to 2 of its senses. These include touch, hearing, taste, smell, sight, balance and acceleration (vestibular system), pain (noniception), thermoception, kinesthetic sense (proprioception) and time (chronoception).

History::
It’s perhaps prudent to say that life has been less than kind to Luca. Born in Kuttailec, Luca had a family of four, consisting of his mother, father and an older sister. Luca’s father was an abusive and arrogant retired soldier who frequently took to beating Luca’s mother. For the young boy, Luca was four when the beatings first began. Initially it was the bruises which first piqued his curiosity, but one night he witnessed the act first hand. It was a simple mistake to be honest. Stumbling out of bed, groggy, yet desperate to reach the toilet at the end of the hallway, Luca raced out of his room in the middle of the night. It was then that a quiet whimper caught his attention.

Downstairs, in the lounge room, there was the sound of struggling and a clatter of silverware. Investigating the source of the noise, Luca discovered his father beating his mother for the very first time. Luca was horrified at first. Seeing the anguished face of his mother, something dark and sinister grew within him. It was a seething, bubbling rage which no child should have been capable of exhibiting. Luca stormed in, interrupting his father and offering himself up in exchange. From there, Luca was punished severely. His father chided Luca’s naivety and weakness and beat him till he was bloody.

Things would remain the same until his 9th birthday. Luca shared a close relationship with his older sister. She, more than his mother, was an inspiration to him because of her intellect and kindness. Luca had been beaten by his father ever since he was four but surprisingly this remained a secret between the two. The discovery was made on his 9th birthday. Confronting their father, Luca’s sister intervened and made a formal protest. Their father’s response was simply a violent and immediate slap. Luca’s pent up rage over the past five years finally caught up to him. The years of anger, hate and abuse he wanted to throw back exploded as he took up a knife and lunged forwards murderously.

Luca’s sister ended up stopping him, but it was she, instead of his father who was stabbed instead. Realising what he'd done, something snapped within Luca that day. The sense that nothing else mattered overcame all thoughts and all that remained was death. The true extents of the entire event are shrouded in mystery, especially with concerns to what happened afterwards. When the police arrived to investigate, they discovered the gruesome scene and a terrified kid all alone. Nothing else, not even the the parent's and sister's Bonds had survived intact. In the end the entire incident was wrapped up as a break-in robbery. The truth of what occurred was never discovered and neither where Luca's sins. Afterwards, Luca was adopted by his grandparents. An ex-general and ex-lawyer who sympathised with his situation and vowed to look after him in his parent’s stead. So began his life as a noble.

Luca M. Feygor

Luca’s eyes widened in disbelief as the pistol came into view. The rest of his senses failed him even before he perceived the gunshot, as though his brain refused to accept the situation before him. In the instance Rue crumbled to the floor all thoughts went blank and the world around him disappeared as though it never existed, the frenzied sounds of battle turning into a faded buzz in the back of his mind.

“No, no, no, no, no. Not again, not like this,” Luca stammered, his voice becoming hoarse as though all the air was being sucked from his lungs. His body lurched as his muscles strained hopelessly after her even though it was already too late.

Lying in an expanding pool of deep red, Rue’s snow white features seemed all the more colder as the blood drained from her body. Her face plastic and pale like the complexion of a mannequins, utterly devoid of life. Her appearance sent ripples of sadness throughout his stricken body as he realised she was already dead. Standing over her, Luca’s legs buckled beneath him before losing all semblance of strength as he collapsed to his knees, a wretched feeling puncturing his heart with all the subtlety of a straight dagger. Luca’s face was a contorted mess of twisted grief, pain and hatred, as he gazed down at her, the rawness of every emotion paralysing his tears amidst a swirling mass of confusion. He reached out gently for a moment, his hand clasping around hers as his fingers pressed frugally against her wrist. Nothing, not even a stray pulse to rekindle his hopes. Without uttering or moving, he allowed his hand to hold onto hers for a while longer, acting as if the slightest motion would permanently shatter his façade under the crushing weight of his agony. Never again would he be able to see her sweet smile, never again would he be able to experience the pleasures of teasing and talking to her, but worst of all was simply the fact she wouldn’t be beside him anymore.

That lonely sentiment left him with nothing but the fleeting sense of anger to cling onto. The past returned to haunt him then, his memory picturing his sister in the exact same position, blood caked across her lifeless corpse like a raspberry topping. The similarities were almost uncanny. ”My condolences boy. Now we’re both equal it seems.” Blue’s expression rang empty and hollow, bereft of any real notion of sympathy as Luca felt the demon glowering at him from behind.

Luca stood up again, his jaw set perfectly square, “Sorry Rue, sis, it seems I’m going to break two promises today. Forgive my selfishness,” he murmured. An expressionless gaze fixated onto Rue’s father, any pretence of emotion now focused exclusively into his thirst for vengeance. Luca could feel Blue Horror’s power flowing through him stronger than ever before, filling him like the blood coursing through his veins.

"You should have figured this would come sooner or later. With or without war, you both would have been disposed of. Now it's just more dire that we get rid of you. The Tyryl family needs to stand on top, no matter what. I won't let anything take us down."

“Those words, I’ll throw them right back at you,” Luca snarled, appearing in front of Erin. Spinning too fast to see, Luca looped his hands around the father’s right wrist, and whip snapped it, forcing the pistol out of the man’s grip. Rue’s father was not yet done though. A loud crack followed immediately as Luca tightened the distance, Rue’s father head butting him into submission. Stumbling back several paces, Luca felt another blow to the left of his chest as the man’s right fist thrust forwards in the counterattack. The impact felt like a million needles against his broken ribs but Luca was past caring. A flying spin kick levelled the man as Luca’s power finally set it, unimaginable pain violating the man’s entire body like a surge of electricity and prostrating him against the floor. In a single instance every pain receptor in the man’s body had been enhanced and fired off simultaneously. That pain would’ve been felt by his wolf bond likewise. Luca's dark gaze emerged on top of the man now as he flexed his fingers, his voice thickly laced in venom, "Fortunately for you, i don't kill because i promised not to. Unfortunately for you, i'm going to make you wish i hadn't."

Snow

She cracked open her eyes, the blinding pain that had ripped through her human bond's chest was starting to grow numb. Snow knew exactly what had happened and she had fallen to the floor a few feet from the girl just as the bullet had gone through her. Turning her head, she looked to see Rue in a pool of blood, staining her beautifully white features. Across from her was Luca in an enraged state. Snow had looked just in time to see him kick the girls father and take him down to the ground. Slowly, Snow pushed herself up to her feet, fluttering her wings to keep balance as she moved unsteadily to Rue's side.

I'm sorry about this, Rue, Snow thought to her, knowing full well the girl couldn't hear her anymore. But I have to. Slowly the phoenix stretched open her wings and called as much power to her body as she could. She began to glow a bright white, but that white seemed to grow brighter by each second. Lifting her head up, her silvery eyes closed and she concentrated all the power she had into a single form. Her own spirit. The glowing brightened to almost a blinding light and Snow's body couldn't be seen passed it. The white flames licked outwards towards Rue's body.

Slowly the flames reached Rue, gently caressing her arm first, then across her face and chest until finally the white fire had covered her entirely. Snow pushed every last ounce of power into the girl, sending with it her own life. It took some time for it all to build and pass to Rue, but Snow didn't stop, nor did she slow the process. Finally after several minutes of pushing the power outwards, the phoenix's body began to tremble, the white color turning gray. The light faded slowly, but Rue's body continued to glow. With the blinding white gone entirely, Snow was a solid statue of gray for a few moments before her body crumbled to ash next to Rue.

Erin Tyryl

“Those words, I’ll throw them right back at you,” Luca's snarling voice startled Erin as the boy appeared right between him and his father. Erin watched half in awe and half in fear as Luca engaged the taller man. The fight drew on, but finally the boy had knocked the man to the ground and was leaning over him with a look like death in his eyes. Erin felt a twinge of fear, not for his father but for Luca.

A sudden barking cry took his attention as his fathers bond stumbled away from Nemesis. Erin narrowed his eyes and shouted, "Take him down, Nemesis! Kill him!" His order was thick with rage, determination to take from his father what was precious just as he'd take from Erin what was precious to him. The black dire wolf streaked in without hesitation and lunged on the larger silver wolf. His jaw locked around the wolfs neck and brought it down to the floor. Nemesis managed to get up on top of the other wolf and hold him down, his jaw crushing tighter with each passing second. The silver wolf twisted and barked in rage and pain. Whatever Luca had done to his father was affecting the dire wolf immensely and the fight was turning in their favor.

Off to the side, Erin noted a bright light just out of the corner of his eye. Turning he looked to see what it was and felt shock fill him as he witnessed Snow being engulfed in her own power. He didn't have the slightest clue as to what was going on, but he couldn't tear his gaze away. Even so, Nemesis lost his place on top of the silver wolf, and the larger opponent managed to push the black wolf down beneath it. The piercing feeling of teeth going deep into Nemesis' shoulder right next to his neck filled Erin and he dropped to the ground in blinding pain.

When he was able to crack his eyes opened to see again, he witnessed Snow turning to ash while his sister was wreathed in white fire. To his utter amazement, the girl slowly came forward off the ground, her body hanging in the air as the fire swirled around her. Then she was set on her feet and her green eyes shifted to silver and were alite with life. What chilled Erin, though, was the look in her eyes. Lifting her hand she formed a single piece of sharpened dry ice that was pointed right at her father where Luca was at.

The icicle shot from her hand as if it were nothing to her, slid right passed Luca without cutting him and straight into her father's chest. Her eyes narrowed, a frown on her lips as she stood there waiting to see her handy work. Slowly Erin pushed himself up to his knees as his fathers bond reeled away from Nemesis allowing him to lung in and finish off the large silver wolf.

"Rue?" Erin asked softly. The girl turned to look at him. The fire faded away from her body and with a blink of her eyes, the strong emerald green gazed at him.

"Erin," she whispered, then looked down to where Snow's ashes were. Tears filled her eyes and for the first time in a long time, Erin watched his sister break down and cry. Down on her knees, she held her face as she grieved for the loss of her bond. Erin bowed his head in sorrow as well, but to him he was grateful for Snow's sacrifice to bring his sister back.

Luca M. Feygor

Luca’s eyes were brutal as they locked onto Rue’s father lying prone on the floor in a fit of pain, the adrenaline pumping high on course through his veins. Nothing could stop him now. His fingers curled in and out, forming trembling fists with such barely contained fury that his scorn seemed like it could slip off and drip from his skin like sweat. Luca’s mind was a haze lost in retribution, so lost that the white light which burning behind him remained completely unnoticed until an icicle impaled Rue’s father through his chest, splattering the ground with flecks of blood. He whirled around then, startled by the sudden intrusion, but more surprising was the sight which waited to greet him from behind.

"Rue?" Erin’s query was corded with a mixture of disbelief and apprehension, delivered as if Rue could fall and vanish again at a moment’s notice.

Luca’s eyes could only widen in complete shock as Rue’s perfectly white form eased into view. His mind became a jumbled mess as he struggled to comprehend the supernatural phenomenon. The reality of their situation felt so warped as to eclipse even all the themes of disorder from the paintings of a surrealist. Rue’s emerald green eyes seemed to be all the confirmation Luca needed though, their sharpness piercing through the thick veil of his confusion like a lighthouse in a fog. Unable to pull his gaze away from her, Luca’s body gave pause, tensed into a state of bewilderment as an entirely new range of emotions finally worked their way through his racing mind.

He rushed to her as she collapsed, tears flowing fully between her fingers and staining her skin with glossy moisture. The pain across his ribs and nose was intense but almost none of that seemed to matter as he crashed down behind her, burying his face besides hers and embracing her tightly. Like the air rushing into suffocated lungs, his whole body burst into life again, his azure eyes glowing with hope and joy. Reassured by the warmth and physicality of her familiar qualities, relief finally struck his entire body, releasing the grief from his mind almost entirely. For a moment he sat there in silence, the gravity of Snow’s self-sacrifice robbing him of his voice.

“Rue…you're really alive...” he breathed softly, the words slowly reaching his throat. His gaze shifted to Snow’s ashes with only a purely solemn look over his normally composed features, “I’m so sorry Rue, but thank you Snow,” was all he could offer.

Brenna galloped past, Walker passed out on her back. As she caught sight of Rue, Erin, and Luca, she remembered Rue's freezing the air and icicles earlier, and turned to catch them.

"WHERE'S SNOW? I NEED HER TO FREEZE WALKER'S WOUND OVER!" The fear on Brenna's face was easily seen, and the fact that her back was encrusted with blood seeping from what was formerly known as Walker's arm made the reason for her fear obvious. Around this point Walker stirred from his coma, and barely opened his eyes to see who Brenna was talking to.

"Great... A girl I wronged, the brother who hates me, and the guy I already owe a favor to... My luck ceases to amaze..." Walker said, eyes dimming even as he spoke with just enough volume to be heard, and passed out again, slumping over Brenna again. Brenna turned to Erin, turning into her goblin form and letting Walker down gently so she could bow in front of him.

"I know he was wrong earlier, he knows it too, but we NEED your sister's help, he could die otherwise! Please, Erin. I'm begging you. Not as Walker's Bond, not as a friend, but as a beggar. I can't do anything for him, and if I run for the infirmary, he'll never make it without some sort of bandage. Let Rue and Snow help him." She looked up with a pleading look on her face, hope mixed in with her fear.

Rue Tyryl

Empty. She felt utterly empty. There was no connection, there was no other part of her there to reassure her, to tease her to have silent and private conversations with. There was a hole in her being and she felt it like a burning dagger right to her chest. Rue had cried before, but this was different. She was sobbing in pain. Her shoulders shook uncontrollably, each moan and cry making her throat go hoarse. Then she felt someone crash into her, strong arms wrapping around her tightly and holding her against a well formed frame that she knew without even looking. His scent, his feel, his warmth was all so familiar to her.

Turning, she buried her face in his chest, clutching the shirt tightly with one small hand. She felt like a little child as she cried hard against him. For a long time Luca was silent as he held her. Her tears soon soaked his shirt, but she didn't move. She didn't want to move at all.

“Rue…you're really alive... I’m so sorry Rue, but thank you Snow,” his voice was soft, the sound of relief clear as his worry had been for her only. Rue knew that Snow had done it for her, but she couldn't believe the empty feeling that overtook her right after.

"Luca," she sobbed, the tears burning and she choked on the air around her. A cough wracked her small frame, causing her to shake against him. She took in a deep shaking breath, her crying still hiccuping through. She lifted her head up to Luca, her eyes red from crying so much and her face wet with tears. Rue tried to get a hold of herself, but it was difficult to stop the tears and soon she was hiccuping lightly from crying so much. Behind her, she startled as a cold nose pricked her back. She could feel the cold wet nose and knew that it was one of the wolves. After looking around Luca's arm she spotted Nemesis crawling to Erin who was leaning wearily against the opposite wall.

Turning she looked into the bright blue eyes of her mothers bond. Rue refused to look at her parents dead bodies laying not to far from them. The white wolf turned her head off to the side and then stretched her neck and licked Rue's face. The warm tongue was startling to feel against her face and she sat there in shock. A hiccup escaped her lips as she stared at the wolf. Slowly, something began to tingle in her core. The hole that Snow had left behind seemed to be filling. The white dire wolf kept eye contact with her for the entirety of the bonding.

Rue never looked away either as she sat there, still against Luca's warm body, her fingers twisted in his shirt. Then she felt a conscious press against her own and she startled, at first shutting it out. The wolf before her lowered its head and the bright blue eyes seemed to pout. So, Rue let down her guard and the presence filled her with warmth and new found strength.

"Rue. It is finally nice to meet you like this. I've watched you grow since you were small. I knew this day would come, but I was bonded with your Mother already, so I could not bond with you. Snow has played her role, and now I will play mine for you. We are one, and we will always be one, you and I."

Her breath sucked in sharply between her teeth causing another, louder, hiccup to erupt forth and the white wolf before her sat down on her hunches and gave Rue a toothy smile of amusement.

Tapping Luca's chest in urgency she turned to him, her eyes wide, "Luca! She... she just... bonded with me," she said breathlessly.

"I can never replace Snow, my lovely Rue. But I am yours forever, from now till the end of our days. I'm called Ivory."

It was the first time she'd ever heard the name of her mothers bond. Both of her parents had never told her or her brother their bond's names because they thought that Rue and Erin were not worthy enough to know. To call their parent's bonds by name was considered a privilege earned and nothing else. Rue's drying eyes seemed to fill again and she quickly fought off the wave of fresh, hot liquid that stung at her eyes.

"Ivory," she whispered, then slowly reached out and patted the wolfs large head. Ivory leaned into the touch, a feeling of relief and relaxation flooding Rue via the dire wolf. In turn, the girl leaned heavily against Luca. She felt tired beyond belief, and could probably sleep right there, but she knew they were in a danger zone and should probably try to make their way back to auditorium.

Then from the hallway, there was a loud galloping sound and Rue looked up warily from Luca's hold.

"WHERE'S SNOW? I NEED HER TO FREEZE WALKER'S WOUND OVER!"

Rue winced at the name of her lost bond, but her eyes didn't move from Walkers condition. She wasn't sure if Luca was going to let her up, so she stayed put. At the same time, she didn't know if she still had the phoenix's power to do so.

"Yeah, well she can't," Erin replied heavily his voice laced with pain as he sat against the wall.

"I'm sorry, but Snow..." Rue turned away and put her face back into Luca's chest, unable to speak anymore.

Brenna looked at the ashes in pain, and then smiled, an idea coming to her head. Everything Snow had done while in her sight clicked in her head, and old memories flooded back like they had occurred yesterday.
"Ice... ice... ICE! SHE'S A CRYOPHOENIX!!!" When no one really reacted, she continued. "None of you realize icebirds follow the same rules as their fiery counterparts? WE STILL HAVE TIME! I'll need peppermint, wintergreen, and lotus root. It won't exactly be the coziest of nests, but it should be more than enough for what we'll be doing here. We're bringing the dead back, people, ALLONS-Y! Heehee! I always wanted to say that!" She said, running to the kitchens to fetch the ingredients needed, leaving Walker in their care while she went to go fetch the necessary items to bring back a cryophoenix. As she dug through the kitchens, Walker slipped back into consciousness, the sudden shock of Brenna sticking her nose in mustard more than enough to kick his heart rate up a bit, luckily having just enough clotting to make sure he didn't pass out again from blood loss. His voice was a little stronger than earlier, but still weak.
"Ugh... Rue? Erin? Luca? Goddess, my head... I have a feeling my luck has run drier than a banshee's voice. If I kick it here, Rue, make sure Brenna and Hayley are safe, okay? Erin? Make sure Maya stays in bed until the hole in her stomach is healed... And Luca? I still owe you one... That doesn't end at the mortal crossroads. Erin. Keep things safe around here, even if I live. Or I'm gonna have to whomp you one..." With that, he smiled, and started singing, half delirious from losing more blood than most people needed to live, his voice weak.
"The pale moon was rising above the green mountains,
The sun was declining beneath the blue sea;
As I strayed with my love to the pure crystal fountain,
The stands near the beautiful Vale of Tralee,
She was lovely and fair as the rose of the summer,
Yet 'twas not her beauty alone that won me;
Oh no, 'twas the truth in her eyes ever dawning,
that made me love Mary, the Rose of Tralee.

The cool shades of evening their mantle were spreading,
And Mary all smiling was listening to me;
The moon through the valley her pale rays was shedding,
When I won the heart of the Rose of Tralee.
Though lovely and fair as the Rose of the summer,
Yet 'twas not she, that beauty that won me;
Oh no, 'twas the truth in my eyes ever dawning,
that made me love Hayley... my Rose of Tralee..."

Luca M. Feygor

"Luca," Rue coughed to him, her soft voice broken and barely audible amidst the fit of tears. Turning into him, her sobs found their way onto his chest, staining the perfectly white cotton top as she released her sorrows all in one go. He could feel the shuddering of her entire body she lay against him, her tiny fingers working their way around his shirt as if grasping for relief. Luca allowed himself to be pulled in closer to her, leaning gently down to comfort her as she wept all the while.

With a face ruined by misery, Rue looked up at him after a long moment, eyes puffed red from too much crying and nose snivelling in a desperate attempt to compose herself. She’d cried so hard there hardly seemed to be any tears left. Her soft, silky features glistened as the light reflected of her cheeks, revealing a sliver of the immense grief and loneliness she must’ve felt. It was his first time witnessing her cry and Luca felt the acute sting of her pain resonating within his own heart. It made him wanted to help her, to alleviate her sadness in any way possible, even if only a little, yet he felt utterly helpless to do so.

Looking at the results of their conflict, Luca could only sigh woefully, his breath ragged from the relentless pain still wracking his ribs. Observing the cold bodies of Rue’s parents and Snow’s dusty remains, the setting bore a staggering resemblance to his own past, hurting him with the memory of his own horrid existence.

"Luca! She... she just... bonded with me,"

His face met hers again, greeting her wide eyes with equal surprise at her statement. Luca’s gaze fell to the white wolf, the tension in his shoulders building warily as Rue’s small hand reached out to softly touch it. His muscles relaxed as the wolf made no motion but to ease into her hand affectionately. Rue’s weight fell against him fully then, exhaustion written across her face.

"WHERE'S SNOW? I NEED HER TO FREEZE WALKER'S WOUND OVER!"

Luca winced at the sound of galloping, the clutter of hooves against masonry alarming him to the approach of the bond immediately. Walker lay on top of the horse, but something was clearly wrong. Blood dripped profusely down where his left arm used to be, leaving a dark trail behind the horse at it approached them.

"Yeah, well she can't," Erin replied, the fatigue clear in his tone.

Walker’s bond smiled suddenly, an idea sparking it into action. Heehee! I always wanted to say that!"

Luca’s mouth immediately opened to protest as his eyes narrowed at the mutilated stump of Walker’s left arm, but the bond was already gone beyond view. “Damn, you don’t have time to be worrying about that,” he cursed, Walker’s delirious chorus prickling his ears.

Standing unsteadily, Luca carried Rue along with him until they reach Walker. “I’m getting you muppets to the infirmary first, Erin! Help me carry him for a moment here,” he waved Rue’s brother over after having set Rue down beside him. He half-grinned at Walker, not sure if the young man could even hear him, "You can consider staying alive as your favour to me, now hold on tight." Without wasting further time, he teleported the group and their bonds into the relative calm of the infirmary. “This man needs aid!” he yelled immediately upon entering.

>the infirmary only Maya is in because he had teleported everyone else out earlier, and Walker seems to be the only student with enough knowledge of medicine to do something as extreme as fixing up someone whose entire left arm is missing, and is unable to help due to reasons already explained
Ten paper daggers floated in the air in front of Luca, Maya glaring from her bed, shaking at seeing the bloodied people, too scared to realize who they were.
"I swear to the Goddess," she said, her breath shaky as she aimed the paper blades for the mothers of all paper cuts, "If you try anything, I'm not afraid to kill you." Her shaking, however, said otherwise, her fear of taking the life of another too much to bear.

The hallway blurred and before she knew it they were in the infirmary which was busier than she'd ever seen it before. Nurses were running all around, a portion of the wall facing the outside was blown away, a large rock sitting in the center of the room speaking of it's being the reason a large part of the wall was missing. Outside, she could see the raging war that was in full swing. Shots were being fired, magic was being tossed around like paper planes and the sound of steel scrapping could be heard as well. Rue clung to Luca as he held her there and turned to yell for help. Only a couple of nurses turned to acknowledge him.

"I swear to the Goddess, if you try anything, I'm not afraid to kill you."

Rue turned her attention to the small, shaking voice that said those words. Her heart lurched in her chest and she felt an overwhelming burst of power through her veins. The words alone were enough to make her angry, not only that, but the girl was looking right at Luca. Stepping away from the tall boy, her body suddenly ignited in white fire. The power from her phoenix evidently still within her. Rue glared at Maya with her silvery eyes, her lips set firmly.

"Be careful who you threaten," she said calmly then turned her gaze to Walker who was lying on the bed, his blood soaking the white sheets already. She stepped up next to him and reached out with her hand to touch his wound. The icy fire concentrated around her hand and she began cauterizing the wound, dry ice cracked along her fingers and encased his shoulder, stretching out to cover just a small portion of his chest as well.

"It seems that Snow has left you with a beautiful reminder, my love," Ivory said gently as she padded up next to the girl. The white wolf leaned against Rue, the white fire not affecting her in the least.

"Yes. I didn't think I still had it though. I thought it would have been gone when she..."

"She poured it all into you, therefore your possess her power and I believe it will be with you for quite some time. You and I both can build on it and keep it going until the end of days. My power mixed with yours will be a quite formidable."

Rue only nodded to Ivory in response. Slowly she let the power fade and stepped away from Walker. She was tired once more and almost dropped but Ivory gave her strength to keep standing. Turning to Luca she pulled her lower lip between her teeth before speaking, "We should try to rest here. Then we need to make our way back to the auditorium," she said softly. What she wanted most was to sleep and with Luca right there, his warmth was all she wanted to feel for a little while.

"Be careful who you threaten,"

Upon being greeted by Maya’s air manipulation powers, Luca was startled by the floating paper daggers, but Rue’s calm, unwavering gaze of confidence surprised him even more as she stepped out front of him without hesitation. Using herself as a shield was almost laughable given the size difference between them, but Rue clearly wasn’t someone to be trifled with. She lit up like match stick, a beautiful white fire engulfing her entire body, licking her pale features yet seemingly unable to burn her or the things around her. He could feel the unnatural heat from the flames prickling the hairs of his exposed skin from his proximity, and through it, her undeniable determination to protect him.

Luca held silence for a moment before his hardened expression cracked, a minor chuckle indicating nothing but his admiration for her, especially after all that’d she’d been through. She seemed so much stronger than him as she silently strode over to Walker and stoically controlled her ice powers to cauterize his bloody wound. As suddenly as it had appeared, the white fire faded into nothingness as Rue stepped away and turned to him, her normally sharp green eyes dipped in fatigue.

"We should try to rest here. Then we need to make our way back to the auditorium," she suggested, still obviously concerned about their overall safety.

“You’re right,” Luca conceded, glancing towards Maya and Walker. Both students were terribly injured, but Maya in particular troubled him. None of the previous mischievous she’d exhibited earlier seemed to remain as the harsh, bloody reality of war reared its ugly face to her in the form of Walker’s wounded form. Luca was acutely aware that Walker's bond was still outside and cursed the awkwardness of their situation. He'd have to go searching for the bond if it couldn't locate Walker by itself. Looking at Rue's brother, Erin was equally battered and tired likewise from their previous engagement, the scar over his shoulder still raw from the freshness of the laceration.

He wheeled his eyes back to Rue, patting her shoulder to catch her attention, “Thanks for the help,” he smiled at her, pecking her over the forehead. If he could have he would’ve held her for the rest of the day, still trying to recover from the shock of her death like he was, but now wasn’t the time for that. “Once we do return I suspect they’ll try to evacuate us, if they haven’t already ordered the students to do so,” Luca postulated, pausing briefly to scratch the bottom of his chin, “The academy is surrounded by jungles and rivers though so I hope they have a plan of escape. If not, our hopes rest with the Tyrilia army in holding the enemy back or beating him.”

"War is a serious matter. It won't just end here." Blue Horror noted. The demon sat just beyond window, the fires from the battle creating halos over its red robes. Nonetheless it had a book held in a pair of its many hands, apparently unperturbed by the escalating conflict. "If they do evacuate though, they'll likely evacuate the students via air," he added, his veiled head looking up from his book to gaze at them all.

Maya just sighed in relief when Rue flared up, and the paper knives flew back to her on a small gust of wind.
"Well, pardon me for playing it safe, little missy. Where's the icebird? I need you like I need a hole in my stomach, and that bird seems to help cover both bases, now doesn't it? And don't threaten me, Rue, I might not like killing, but I'm not afraid of hanging you out the window for a while." Maya said snarkily, brushing her hair back behind her ears from where it had slipped out.

Brenna walked into the infirmary in her goblin form, tenderly holding a small blue chick in her hands. When no one noticed, she groaned.
"...No, no, don't get up, after all I only played God for a little bit..." She said indignantly, letting the revived Snow hop up onto her head and cough up a tiny snowflake. After she had gotten all the required materials, she had returned to find them all gone, Snow's ashes still lying there. She had made a nest from the things that she had gathered, and Snow was able to(read: forced to) rebirth herself, but the time that had lapsed had caused Snow to have to FULLY rebirth herself, or else she would have come back wrong. Brenna had carried her all the way to the infirmary, where she had felt Walker disappear to. Snow peeped, and snuggled into Brenna's hair, making a little nest to sleep in. Brenna smiled a little, and then walked over to Walker, hooking him up to an IV and a blood transfusion pack. Once she finished, she sighed deeply.
"Well, he's stable, but don't expect him to be juggling any time soon. The Bond that bit his arm off apparently had some sort of venom that prevents most magic from working on the wounds it inflicts. Rue bypassed it by freezing the area around his wound, not the wound itself, but any attempt to grow his arm back is going to fail. Badly."

"Well, pardon me for playing it safe, little missy. Where's the icebird? I need you like I need a hole in my stomach, and that bird seems to help cover both bases, now doesn't it? And don't threaten me, Rue, I might not like killing, but I'm not afraid of hanging you out the window for a while."

"You're not very threatening. Lets take a moment and seriously think who would actually win that fight. The nurses have already patched you up, girl. I highly doubt you need me for anything," Rue replied coldly but didn't look to Maya and didn't spare her another thought either. The girl was a pompous ass and didn't deserve a second thought. To honestly think that she could send terror down Rue's spine was laughable. Obviously the girl hadn't had a dire wolf right in her face ready to rip her apart at a moments notice,`nor did it seem to click that her ice was a ranged power and even if Rue were to be hung out a window, things would still go sour for the black haired, high and might, girl.

“Thanks for the help. Once we do return I suspect they’ll try to evacuate us, if they haven’t already ordered the students to do so. The academy is surrounded by jungles and rivers though so I hope they have a plan of escape. If not, our hopes rest with the Tyrilia army in holding the enemy back or beating him.” He smiled at her and gave her a kiss on the forehead which made her brighten in return.

"They should have a plan. I don't think they would allow us to be left in the middle of a war without a plan of some sort," Rue said to him as she tapped her lip gently and leaned against him. Ivory paced herself right next to the girl and sat down, her silvery eyes leveled towards the black haired girl.

"Is she always like that?" Ivory asked.

"Yes," Rue replied with an irritated tone and out loud like her old habit.

"I see. I'm sure that'll change before the end of this."

"I seriously doubt that," Rue replied and allowed Ivory the pleasure of viewing her memory of the sports class incident. To which the enormous white dire wolf huffed in irritation.

"How ridiculous. They will learn soon this is no game. Threatening each other is not going to help. Evacuation is sound, but I don't think that they will be able to. The fighting was vicious even before I got here. There won't be much else left to do other than fight for this school. It is the center of the war right now, and I don't see us being transported out anytime soon."

Just as Rue was turning to her bond to ask what they were supposed to do then, the little goblin bond that belonged to Walker bounced in with a blue fluff ball between her hands. The adorable little chick coughed up a snowflake that made Rue's mouth open in awe and her heart fill with the single thought of 'adorable'.

"...No, no, don't get up, after all I only played God for a little bit..." The goblin proceeded to check up on her human bond, fix to him an IV and blood and then settled down next to him with the blue furball nestled in her hair. Rue stepped away from Luca again and reached out to gently run her finger down the birds body. A smile lighted her lips and she gently took the bird from her place and held the little chick against her body.

"Thank you," she whispered to the goblin and went back to Luca.

"I'm happy to see that Snow is back with us," Ivory said, her silver eyes turning to look up at Rue.

"What happens now, though?"

"She will bond with you."

"And you?"

"Have you forgotten what I said? You and I are one and will be one from now till the end of time."

A brighter smile lifted her lips as she nestled against Luca, warm tears in her eyes, "How amazing," she muttered.

"I'm sorry to ruin the moment, though, Rue. But we do need to figure out what to do about evacuation and if there is no such thing, we need to plan on how to survive this."

"I agree," Rue looked to her brother who was leaning against the wall, his arms across his chest and his eyes closed. His eyebrows were pulled down, clearly showing his irritation as he stood there. Obviously he didn't like the black haired girl either. "Erin?"

He opened his eyes to look at her, "Yeah sis?"

"Can you stay here and keep guard? I have a feeling we're going to be here for a long time."

"Where are you going?"

"I'm going to the auditorium to see if the students have been evacuated yet, and if there's even an evacuation going on right now. Ivory says that the fighting might be too much to even attempt an evacuation. We might end up fighting here," she walked to her brother and handed him the little blue ball of fluff that was Snow, "Watch her please? She should grow into her normal size in the next few hours, but it might take longer."

"Why don't you stay here and I'll go," Erin said, fighting back. Rue sighed.

"First off, I'm healed completely thanks to Snow, and I've got far more energy than you do. Besides, I don't think Luca will let me go alone anyway, so you don't have to worry about that," Rue said to him. They were far enough away from the others to have their little fight in private. Rue glared up at her brother. With a heavy sigh, Erin took Snow and rolled his eyes.

"Fine, but you better come back here in the same shape you're in right now," he ordered her.

"I will," she smiled at him, then headed for the door of the infirmary and took a moment to figure which way would take her to the auditorium. Out side the battle raged and the school continued to shake from impacts from catapults and other various weapons and magic. It was going to be difficult getting there, but Rue was determined. Ivory stood next to her, the head of the dire wolf coming up to her chest easily as Rue was quite small. Nemesis was shorter than Ivory even, but then, Nemesis was younger as well. The black wolf would grow into a larger size as the years passed.

"Ready, love?"

"Ready," she replied and headed down the hall at a quick pace.

"Well, pardon me for playing it safe, little missy. Where's the icebird? I need you like I need a hole in my stomach, and that bird seems to help cover both bases, now doesn't it? And don't threaten me, Rue, I might not like killing, but I'm not afraid of hanging you out the window for a while." Maya said curtly. For a moment, Luca felt relieved some of her earlier enthusiasm had returned, though only a little.

Rue’s reply was terse and straight the point. In fact her response could be categorised more of a factual statement rather than any threat. Her confidence once again caused a ripple of chuckles beneath his facade before he opened his mouth to speak after her, “Calm down you two,” he said soothingly, acting as liaison, “We already have more than enough issues outside, save your energy for them.”

Walker’s bond stepped through the entrance then, surprising them all when it spoke up to grab their attention. Shock visibly coursed through his features as his blue eyes widened down at the tiny figure the bond was cradling, something he suspected was Snow. His suspicions where confirmed as Rue’s snow-white hands reached out to the chick, the tiny bird fitting perfectly within her grasp. "Thank you," she said sincerely. Seeing Rue's face, Luca felt a small smile of his own, relieved beyond belief that she could live without carrying the burden of Snow’s life.

After a moment of silent consultation with Ivory, Luca frowned as Rue’s tentative gaze whirled to her brother, their green eyes meeting like exact mirrors. She stepped closer to him until she could hand him the bundle of joy that was Snow. From his position behind her, Luca could just barely make out their conversation. "I'm going to the auditorium to see if the students have been evacuated yet, and if there's even an evacuation going on right now. Ivory says that the fighting might be too much to even attempt an evacuation. We might end up fighting here,"

Luca raised an eyebrow almost in protest, his shoulders tightening with tension upon hearing her words. He wasn’t sure he could handle the prospect of placing Rue in the face of potential danger again. Erin obviously thought the same as he vocalised his concerns, but Rue was adamant, that same, sharp determination settling into her slender frame. "First off, I'm healed completely thanks to Snow, and I've got far more energy than you do. Besides, I don't think Luca will let me go alone anyway, so you don't have to worry about that," Rue countered.

Luca half frowned and half smirked at her as she headed for the exit. “She’s quite a slave driver,” Luca sighed at no one in particular before hurrying to catch up with her.

"Ready,"

Luca appeared beside her like a paternal adult, his face a condescending mask of disapproval. “Still mentally debating with your bond after all this time? I must be a bad influence after all if all you’ve learnt from me is that dangerous assertiveness,” his soft voice chided her before growing serious, “Stay behind me, I’ll take point as we head to the auditorium.”

“Still mentally debating with your bond after all this time? I must be a bad influence after all if all you’ve learnt from me is that dangerous assertiveness.Stay behind me, I’ll take point as we head to the auditorium.”

Rue felt her lips pull into a smile as she let him pass her and start leading the way down the hall to the auditorium. She didn't answer him, only followed, enjoying his company. She still felt a little strange, walking, breathing and talking to him once more. The feeling of death lingered through her bones and it wasn't a pleasant feeling. It didn't help that the fighting outside added to that feeling. There were people dying out there as well. Not to mention both of her parents were dead too. Her heart nearly stopped at that thought and she slowed down as she walked behind Luca.

Ivory bumped into her legs, pushing her forwards and to catch up with the taller boy. She pulled herself out of her thoughts as the large white wolf rubbed herself across her legs. It was a sign to keep the depressing thoughts at bay, at least for now. There wasn't time to mourn the dead, especially when there was still the high chance of them being killed at anytime. Rue kept moving, right behind Luca as they went. They were nearing the auditorium, the school shuddering more and more often. The fighting was growing closer as shouts and screams could sometimes be heard at a distance. Her eyes kept scanning the halls that they passed, looking for anything that marked that the other students were evacuating, or if the fighting had breached the school.

"Wait!" Ivory called through their connection. Her enormous white body transformed, the solid white spikes erupting from her back and making her even bigger than she already was. The wolf lunged forward in front of Luca, growling and barking in a way that even startled and scared Rue. The wall just a few feet down from them came crashing apart as something ripped through it. Two bonds tumbled through, one a dragon, the other a rock golem. The rock golem had the green scaley dragon in a head lock and was trying desperately to kill it. Their twisting around must have brought them through the wall.

After a few moments, with Rue watching with wide eyes and her fingers curled tightly into Luca's shirt as she pressed herself against his back, the rock golem snapped the dragons neck and let the bond drop to the ground. A high pitched scream filled the air from somewhere else, but Rue didn't have time to figure out where it had come from.

"You should be watching your back, girl!" A deep voice called. She whirled around to face a man that she'd never seen before swing at her with a huge sword. Shoving Luca forwards, and with the help of Ivory twisting around to clamp her jaws around his shirt, Rue dodged the weapon. He swung at her again and she dropped down, missing it entirely. Each time the fighter aimed for her, she evaded it. Rue ducked, twisted, bent backwards and did backflip to get distance between her and the fighter. The training in gymnastics making her extremely flexible and quite fast. Not to mention that Ivory was pouring her own speed and agility into Rue's body to keep her a step ahead of the man.

Ivory made to attack the man, but behind Rue, the rock golem had turned its attention to her and Luca. So, the wolf took off and engaged the large golem all the while keeping Rue faster than her attacker.

"Keep dodging," Ivory said as she locked her jaws around the rock golem's arm.

Rue only nodded, all of her concentration on keeping her distance. Her body ignited into white fire as she went, building the extra shield just in case she couldn't move properly. It was a good idea, and the sword bounced off the pale shield a couple of times. Rue was trying to think on how to freeze the man without getting herself hurt as she dodged, but so far she couldn't come up with anything other than throw a couple of icicles at him. With that decided she began forming the icicle in her hand.

As Rue prepped her icicle, a sharp scalpel tied to a paper airplane buried itself in the man's eye socket, with the paper airplane having a rather good sketch of Maya giving Rue the finger on top, and the words "Don't waste the effort, little miss. I've got this." written on the side. From her bed, Maya huffed in anger. No one was going to be killing that ice queen but her. Rue had never had to deal with always having the embodiment of genocide trying to kill her, though her mother would try to get him under control. Rue never had to constantly train to become the perfect priestess for Quetzalcoatl, always practicing her rites, always training with her knives, and ALWAYS being claimed a heretic by other priestesses and their attempts to kill her for their deities.
"Bitch..." She said more to herself than anyone else, looking through Quetzalcoatl's eyes. From his vantage point, he was able to see almost anywhere on the field of battle, and Maya had two more scalpel planes at her disposal. As she was aiming her next shot, her stomach screamed with pain, and she doubled over, cursing Rue again. She hadn't had time to get more than a patchup from the nurses before the attack, and with Luca teleporting them all out before any of them could have helped her, she still was about as holy as a cross. Needless to say, her body didn't take too kindly to having to deal with a gaping spot of nothing where her organs should be, and she was left having to deal with it. She sniffed a little, sucked it up, and decided it might be better to help Walker, at least for the time being.

Luca M. Feygor

Lurching back in the face of the golem, Luca paused momentarily as his shoulders stiffened from tension. Rubble tumbled across the hallway as the bonds broke through the wall, a loud crack reverberating the corridor and filling the room with the immediate sounds of conflict coming from the outside. Small fingers curled around his back and he realised Rue had drawn closer to him, confusion and terror racking her frame.

"You should be watching your back, girl!"

He fell forwards, realising she’d saved him as the sharp whistling of a blade cutting air soared overhead. Luca stumbled a few steps before whirling around to address their opponent. They were caught in a pincer, but at times like these, the best option was crippling the human bond. His eyes blinked in surprise and veneration as Rue’s body flexed away from the sword, moving in a pattern he was sure he’d be unable duplicate as she dodged each thrust before swinging into a back flip.

Looking back in horror, he watched as the golem’s top twitched around to regard them, the malformed rocks comprising what Luca assumed was its head grinding and cracking as it craned its neck. The giant form of Ivory darted past him, a white blur of movement as the wolf leapt forwards, bringing her jaws snapping downwards. Silently, he thanked her as he swung his attention back towards their assailant.

Before he could plan anything further, a scalpel tied to a paper plane penetrated the man’s eye, eliciting a scream of pain as he clutched his ruined eye socket. Luca spotted two more planes hovering behind him and guessed they were Maya’s judging by the rude illustration of her posing with her middle finger. Taking several quick strides towards the man, he kicked away the sword, sending it rattling across the floor, and then slammed a fist across his face. The man’s body folded over, crumbling to the ground out cold.

“Controlling her powers this far out is impressive,” he nodded, grimacing as he bent down to pick up the sword, “That said, you never cease to surprise me. With those moves, maybe you should be taking point instead,” Luca smirked at Rue before narrowing his gaze at the golem. Still stunned by the pain shared through the link of its bond, the golem’s entire body shuddered. “Do you have enough power to freeze it Rue?” Luca asked her after ruefully looking down at the sword in his hand.

“Controlling her powers this far out is impressive. That said, you never cease to surprise me. With those moves, maybe you should be taking point instead. Do you have enough power to freeze it Rue?”

She only paused long enough to grin at him before turning her gaze to the paper that had fallen to the ground after Luca had decked the young man who had attacked them. With a roll of her eyes, she ignored the girls comment. Turning, Rue looked to the stumbling golem as it was trying to get over the boy's pain from have a scalpel shoved in his eye and punched in the face. Her ice hadn't faded from her and she eyed the creature up and down trying to determine how much of the beast she could really freeze up.

With a shrug to Luca, she stepped towards him and positioned herself better to send her ice at the bond. "I'll see what I can do, don't think I can freeze it all though," she told him. Dropping down to one knee, her hand touched the floor with her fingers splayed open. Ice cracked from her hand towards the creature that stumbled slightly. It seemed as if the thing were coming out of it's haze. Rue had to work quickly. The dry ice spread fast, covering the distance in a matter of seconds. The hard part was building on that ice as it began crawling up the bonds legs. Though it was a rock golem, Rue was sure that her dry ice didn't go unfelt either. The burn was probably present, though less so than it would be on other bonds.

Slowly, her power encased it all the way up to it's waist. It was as high as she could go, and she was growing tired as she layered sheet after sheet of ice over it to make sure it wouldn't move anytime soon. Finally, after she was satisfied, she let the power go, her body returning to normal and her green eyes dull with weariness. Rue was sure she could sleep for weeks once everything was over. Looking up to Luca, she nodded her head and led the way around the golem. They were far enough away that when it swung at them, it didn't even come close to hitting them.

With the auditorium in view, Rue rushed to the double doors and pulled on the handle. The door opened slowly to her surprise. Rue was expecting them to have barred the doors or something. However, as she peered inside, she saw that no one was there. Her heart jumped to her throat as she stared at the empty room. Hesitantly, she stepped into the room, her gaze shooting from one side to the other as she tried to see if anyone was hiding. She didn't see anything at all, nothing but darkness in the far corners.

"I...I guess they were evacuated," she whispered slowly. Her head felt light as she stood there, guilt twisting her stomach. "I'm... so sorry, Luca," she said softly, her eyes dropping to the floor, "If I hadn't of gone to my parents, if we had just stayed here. Then we would all be safe now," she said quickly, her mind easily turning to blame herself. She was so lost in the thoughts of despair that she missed the obvious signs of the double doors being broken, the overturned chairs, signs of battle and several blood stains on the floor.

"I'm sorry..."

Erin Tyryl

His finger stroked the top of the birds head, the little blue ball of fluff had seemed to grow slightly to fit the size of his large hand. She was still nestled in a ball, her head tucked under her wing and her eyes closed. Snow had shifted around a few times as she got comfortable in Erin's hand, but otherwise she was asleep the entire time. He looked over to Maya as the girl uttered a curse word and looked utterly irritated. He sighed slightly and ignored her for the most part, but she did look to be in pain.

"Hey, try to relax. I'll see if I can find you some medicine. Maybe I can even talk my sister into freezing your wound. Don't worry about it, the girl's just like me. We're stubborn," he offered her a wry grin, trying to mend things as best as possible. Luca had been right, it wasn't good to be fighting amongst themselves. Especially if it came down to just the five of them fighting. Erin tried not to think of the possibility that they were stuck at the school for good.

He started rummaging around the area, trying his best to keep out of the way of the nurses. He got a couple of cold glares as he knocked into a table and shifted things around. With a muttered 'sorry' and a little bit of a crooked grin, he ran his free hand through his hair and continued in his search. Finally, he found a bottle labeled simply 'pain killers', of course the scientific term was in bold print, so it took him a moment to figure out what the damn thing was. Back next to Maya, he set Snow down and opened the bottle.

"Need some water?" he asked her as he poured two of the plain white pills into her hand. After replacing the cap, he picked up Snow again and held her against his body. In the short time that he'd let her go, the blue bird had lost all of her warmth. He rubbed his thumb across her back, regenerating the heat. A loud sound hit the side of the wall behind Maya's bed, shaking the room. Erin stumbled as his gaze shot to the wall where the sound had come from. The plaster cracked like glass and fell apart, pieces of stone crumbled into the room and the wall seemed to cave in slightly, though luckily it didn't break.

"Damn," Erin cursed, "They better hurry up... we won't be able to stay here long if things keep up like this."

"Speaking of that, stay there Erin!" Nemesis called as the large black wolf stood up from his sleeping position and changed form. He bounded to the hole in the wall across from them and tackled an incoming fighter from outside. Erin strained to see where his bond had gone, but he figured the huge wolf was winning as he didn't feel any pain through their connection. However, what he did see was chilling. The battle had moved from a couple hundred yards from the school, to several feet. He could see the fighters clearly now, and it was terrifying to watch as bonds and human's alike tore each other apart.

"Keep it together, Erin. You've got two injured to worry about in there. The girl might be able to help, but I wouldn't rely on her too much, she'll waste her energy if she's not careful, especially in the state she's in."

"Yeah, got it," Erin said as he flicked his eyes back to Maya.

Luca M. Feygor

Catching her grin, a smile of his own formed in reaction as Luca stepped past the golem alongside Rue. He maintained a weary watch in case the bond was to ever break away from its restraints and come tumbling down on them with all the force of a bulldozer. He could still feel the rush of air past his face, created by the golem’s futile attacks as it swung at them in aggravation. The large wooden double doors of the Auditorium emerged ahead of them and Luca’s fingers curled around the grip of his sword tightly, unsure of what to expect inside. Rue’s small hand pushed at the door, making it creak open effortlessly as it offered no resistance to her force.

Stepping besides her, a quick glance told him all that he needed to know. The previously bustling auditorium was now empty. Teachers, students and bonds alike had all disappeared without leaving so much as a clue to their destination. The room looked all the more stagnant thanks to Miss Durmane’s green vines still laced across the walls and windows. Flickers of orange from the outside still created the occasional flash of light across the dark auditorium, creating a keen sense of urgency within him. Investigating the room more closely, there were tell tale signs of a fight breaking out within the room. Over turned chairs, claw and cut marks and blood flecks across the floor where the most obvious.

”They must’ve fled,” Blue Horror commented casually as it hovered into the room behind them. The demon was entirely unperturbed by their situation it seemed as it diligently read an open book within its palms despite the frantic sounds of chaos outside.

Rue had clearly noticed this also, but Luca saw an unexpected reaction from her. Her ordinarily perfectly white face twisted with regret as her brows furrowed, dropping her green eyes to the floor.

"I...I guess they were evacuated," She muttered, her voice dry with despair. "I'm... so sorry, Luca, if I hadn't of gone to my parents, if we had just stayed here. Then we would all be safe now, I’m sorry…"

Luca smirked wanly and tilted his head to the side with a quizzical expression. “And I guess standing around here blaming ourselves will magically solve our situation,” he chuckled. Striding over to her, he crouched down so his face could be seen by her downcast face. “Did you start the war? No? Then I don’t want to hear you shouldering the blame by yourself. None of this, nothing is your fault Rue,” he smiled.

He stood up straight and patted her over her head, marvelling at the silkiness and pale hue of her hair for a moment. “Besides, rather than evacuate it’s probably more accurate to say they were forced to flee from here,” Luca continued, casting his eyes over the evidence. “Somebody forced their way in here, and they certainly weren't subtle about it.”

“And I guess standing around here blaming ourselves will magically solve our situation. Did you start the war? No? Then I don’t want to hear you shouldering the blame by yourself. None of this, nothing is your fault Rue,” Luca bent over to look at her as she was much shorter than he was and her face was downcast. Her green eyes locked with his blue ones. A wry smile on his face and she couldn't help but give a small smile back realizing how very true his words were. She nodded as he stood up.

“Besides, rather than evacuate it’s probably more accurate to say they were forced to flee from here. Somebody forced their way in here, and they certainly weren't subtle about it.”

He patted her head as he spoke and looked around. Rue looked as well, more closely this time than before. He was right. She'd been too quick to her conclusion. There was blood on the floor, scratch marks, tables over turned or destroyed. Her heart lifted. Maybe there was a chance they were still here and they could all get back together. Her eyes shifted to Luca.

"We have to find them," she said, pulling her lower lip into her mouth with her teeth. She nibbled gently as she stood there, trying to think of where they could have possibly gone. Then her eyes lit up, "The forest," she stated, "With Berach with them, they would know all the traps and be safe, but anyone who didn't know would be in danger of tripping one. It makes sense."

Ivory brushed against her, "I believe you may be right. I can pick up there scent and lead you to where they are, but we should get the others first. Can't leave them here."

Rue looked down, "Would it be alright to move them? They're injured severely..."

"This place isn't going to last much longer, love. The infirmary was already in danger when we left it."

After a moment she sighed and nodded, "True. Lets get back," she said to Luca and started for the door. They were going to have to make it quick between the infirmary and meeting up with the group.

Erin Tyryl

Erin listened to Maya's story, his throat clenching and his chest tightening as his mind took in the words. Then she lifted her gown to show him the deep scars that ran all along her back and went further. He felt a sharp anger welling in his chest. Erin didn't enjoy hearing the story, it reminded him too much of his Father going after Rue, though luckily Rue was never left with scars. A bloodied lip often, and some bruises, but nothing quite like Maya's. He felt sympathetic towards her and had a deeper understanding of why she was the way she was. If she had the right company she could turn around her attitude, that's what he believed.

"Maya.." he started but didn't finish as she lunged forward and pressed her hand around his eyes. He fought at first but a shout from Nemesis through their connection kept him still as Maya leaned against him with her hand over his face. He took a deep breath to settle his body as he heard an inhuman shout from a bond that he couldn't place. Nemesis was still outside fighting, but he winced slightly as the wolf was pulled off of something, the grip none to light.

He stayed there for the entirety until he heard a soft voice behind them, "Problem solved, lad. Next time, don't worry yer pretty little head. But let's call this even, I'm too tired to take any favors from you."

Turning he witnessed Brenna crashing out on the floor near Walker's bed and he rushed to her to put her up on the covers and make her comfortable. With a roll of his eyes, he patted the goblin's head and sighed.

"This is going to be a long day," he muttered as he turned back to Maya. Moving, he stood next to her bed, leaning against the wall, "You alright?"

Luca M. Feygor

Luca breathed a sigh of relief as Rue’s soft features nodded with a firm resolve. "We have to find them," she stated. He watched her small frame grow pensive with thought, her lower lips hiding under her white teeth.

Luca curled his fringe between his fingers, his eyes falling to the ground as he tried to focus his mind likewise. Abruptly, her voice startled him. Hope coated her soft voice, drawing his gaze back to her and catching the look on her face. Rue’s sharp green eyes sparkled as she returned his stare. "The forest.” she said as if it were obvious all along. Raising his eyebrows, Luca’s lips pulled into a thin frown as he tried to anticipate her reasoning. “With Berach with them, they would know all the traps and be safe, but anyone who didn't know would be in danger of tripping one. It makes sense."

His sombre face cracked a smile to indicate his agreement. “You’re right,” Luca responded, flicking his gaze out the window and into the lush greenery beyond. Even if the group was large, the dense shrubbery provided excellent cover. Just heading into the forest wasn’t enough though. Luca’s hands moved to his neck and began scrubbing the bottom of his chin.

"Would it be alright to move them? They're injured severely..."

Rue’s words resonated with his own thoughts, her anxiety pressing onto his own concerns for both Maya and Walker. Both students were injured, but Ivory’s voice spoke with the easy calm of age old experience. Luca grinned at the white wolf for a moment, admiring her foresight as she addressed Rue's statement.

"This place isn't going to last much longer, love. The infirmary was already in danger when we left it."

"True. Let’s get back," Rue said, heading for the doorway.

Luca moved besides her, Blue Horror haunting his steps like always. “We still have some of my notes out there,” Luca said as they exited the auditorium, his tone was uncertain though, carrying a nervous tremble of sorts. “The problem is i don’t know if they’ve been moved or tempered with,” he explained, “And we don’t know where the students or teachers are either.”
