Introduction

The birth of a daughter to the King of Naillik was a proud celebration for the people. It was a joy that the Kingdom would have a ruler when the King stepped down. Everyone was happy for the royal family, except the Leader of the Yugile. The leader consulted his oracle deep in the heart of the Naillik forest and she revealed to him that the Princess was born under the Eclipse moon and therefore she would bring about the Kingdom's destruction. The leader went to the council and begged them to aid him in killing the Princess in order to preserve their beloved Kingdom. But when the King found out he had the Yugile executed, but the leader had escaped to rally more followers. The Princess was safe for now, The counsel swore to protect her, the Yugile wanted her dead. Years went by with no more talk of this prophecy and the Princess grew into a beautiful women, but the prophetical day grew closer the King grew worried. Soon the Yugile had gathered enough followers and attacked the castle. During the raid the King and Queen were ripped from their beds, brought before the members of the Yugile and executed. The Princess though had somehow escaped, every passageway in the castle was searched but no signs of her were found. Some believe the family wizard whisked her away to safety, others claimed she fled on her own and would soon be found. The Yugile searched for nearly two years relentless to find her, when they became desperate they began bringing in maidens who fit the description and slaughtered them in order to ensure she was gone. Soon the Leader of the Yugile resorted to consulting his seer who confirmed the Princess was still alive and that soon she would rise up and finish what her destiny started. The council having fled into secrecy have formed a small band of three great warriors to find the Princess and bring her to them safely, but even the council has its spies, can the Princess be found and will her return free her people from the Yugile or is she really the bringer of destruction as predicted.

"Well to be fair, they did attack me I'd have been happy to ride on by, if- The stranger started. she didnt hear the last bit, she had caught sight of a violet collored bolt and that meant magic. She made to leap, but the fool across from her tackled her to the ground. Rock and soil flew everywhere as the bolt hit the ground and knocked them back a good ten feet, sprawling all the way. Ira drove one of her guantlets into the ground allowing the bone to drag her and the man on top of her to a halt.

Instinctively she reached for her sword, the weird contortion she was in causeing her top to raise a bit higher than its already inappropriate decision. She caught glimpse of the man staring and she glared menecingly. Pulling her sword to arms and finding the culprit of the explosion she began to say something but the minstrel idiot just babbled about, although she saw that he too was reaching for his weapon. Tired of listening to him she grunted "Oh GEEET OFF!" She shoved him off her and stood. She wasnt afraid of a little blast, though she supposed she should be as if she were dealing with a wizard that was most likely a weak spell just to get thier attention.

Her eyes fell upon the robed figure before her, "A wizard." She chortled, "I knew there was something different about you." Then it occured to her where she had heard the name Valatar. Her eyes narrowed quizzitively, "You are Valatar. The wizard that served in the kingdom to the Royal family!" She growled. He had also been the one to catch her snatching a few of the tributes to the princess. Every muscle in her body tensed so that she would not lunge at the man. If it truly was Valatar he was experienced, and dangerous. "I assure you I am of no threat to you if you are of no threat to me. I have know of your presence here and never once bothered you nor have my men." She forced herself to say. Even though it was the truth, if she had know it was Valatar inhabiting the small cottage, she might have given different orders. The wind from the blast still circled blowing her hair about as she gripped her blade tightly, ready for his response.

He looked at both as they spoke. Studying their phrases, hoping to catch any hint that he could use to his advantage.

"If you were a peddler, I wouldn't have wasted a spell on you." He remarked, his eyes piercing through both of them, studying them from the distance, the woman had looked familiar, though he didn't exactly place where, at this time he didn't really care to. He took notice that both of them where moving their hands to their weapons. At least he got their attentions with the attack. Neither of them seemed to be carrying anything that officially made them part of the Yugile, and that's what made him worry a bit more. He brought his hands closer together and started to move them in a circle, his left hand above his right hand.

"That wizard who served the Royal Family. How nice to address that they're still alive." He growled in response, he continued moving his hands in a circle, "Now, you have a few minutes of your lives remaining intact while I finish preparing this spell. Let's play a game while we wait."

A violet orb slowly started appearing with each pass of his left hand, or at least thats what it appeared to be from their point of view, it was an illusion spell extremely harmless, but a good trick to scare people into thinking it wasn't, "The rules are simple, you tell me what I want to know, and we all live. You don't, well this spell kills you both."

He was holding back, by now they would've engaged in combat if he had felt different about the situation. If they weren't here for the princess, he didn't want to harm them. Though, if they were, he wanted to make sure he got the answers he needed before he killed them, or they killed him. Still, his hands moves in the circle, away from each other as the orb grew.

"Well?"

The orb was the size of a toddler's fist now.

Ira smirked and a brow raised as he addressed them, unfased by the orb in his hands. "I just love it when people try to tell me what to do. It just works me up you know?" She shifted her weight from her well shaped right leg to her left and twirrled her weapon a bit to make herself relax. "And if you want to know something you could just ask in a slow and sultry tone and I would probably tell you." She jested seriously, dragging out the "slow and sultry". She cracked the joints in her neck and rolled her shoulders. "I will be honest, you telling me I am going to tell you what you want to know or you'll kill me, really only makes me want to lop off your man parts and wear them as a trophy. Then make you eat your own spell. So we can duke it out here or you can just ask me what you want to know and I will answer to the best of my ability." If she wanted to and thought he deserved the truth that is. She stood in a reclined manner, placing her wrists on her head so that her blade was resting down her back but easily moved to strike. Her hair was straglly from the extra dirt from the blast and there were smudges of dirt on her face. Her chest rose and fell calmly with her breathing showing she was not in the least bit afraid of him. Her logics, he wouldn't throw an orb spell that was leathal with himself in such a close proximity to his targets. And she knew the wizard. He was known for not hurting innocents if he could help it, he just didnt know if they were innocent or not. Or you know, she could be talking herself into her grave. Nothing she hadnt done before.

She looked at the other male and sighed, "He might tell you right off the bat. He looks like someone who likes being bossed around." She chuckled. Then she examined his stance, "Or perhaps he only follows orders given by females. Very typical of hopeless romantics who spout babbling complements." She then decided it was enough talking for her. It would be in her best intrest not to anger both men as she was between them.

Aveline had remained in the house with Valatar's masking spell still on her. Hidden in the back room she waited to see what would happen. Were these people here to harm her as pawns of the Yugile or were they just looking for Valatar as they claimed. Listel was still in the house she knew that, but she knew the woman well enough she'd find a way outside and side with Valatar if the people ended up dangerous. Aveline knew of the secret hiding spot they'd spoken of in case danger did present itself. Slowly she made her way to the window and peeked out, the sight she was met with had her wondering what they were saying. Valatar was in the defensive stance as the others were. Gripping the curtain she sighed. "This could end badly if one of them attacks Valatar. Listel....be ready," she glanced at the woman and frowned. "In case he needs your help of course. If any of them get inside I'll go to the passage we talked about. We still don't know if they are in league with the Yugile and it's not a risk I'm willing to take. I need to get back to Naillik soon."

"I beg your pardon, Madam!" growled Secru. "I am a poet. One thing I do not do is babble!" he turned to the wizard. "Mind you, Miss Bones-as-a-fashion-statement here does have a point, of sorts. It's not exactly considered polite to hurl lightning bolts, or whatever it was, at innocent travelers who knock openly and peacefully at one's door. Particularly when - in my case at least - they've come a long way, through many perils and hardships to see you.

"Now, I don't know this young lady beside me too well, since we just met - but it's my guess that if you anger her any more, she'll be at you with that blade, and - providing those massive udders of hers don't get in the way, and she doesn't trip over her own ego - she'll very soon be trying to slice bits off you. Which means either she'll succeed, or you'll shoot another of those theatrical-looking firebolts at her. Either way, one of you will end up dead. And that would be such a shame, since I strongly suspect our interests coincide.

"So may I suggest, Mr Wizard, that you at least give us a chance to show you we mean no harm? For one thing, you might have noticed that I've already unbuckled my sword-belt, and handed it to the charming Elven-lady who answered the door. One wouldn't have to be a high-mage to have worked out that's hardly the way an assassin operates. And whatever this rather mouthy lady's intent - well, I've been stalked by her, and I can guarantee she moves about as silently as the average thunderstorm. She isn't exactly an ice-cold model of efficiency. Save your sorcery for the Yugile..." (he spat on the ground at the word), or for poetry-critics!" (he spat, even more forcefully).

While he'd been speaking, Secru was subtly but efficiently moving to interpose himself between the wizard and the stalker, effectively shielding both of them from the others attack. Now, he deliberately turned his back on the wizard.

"And you, fair lady, might start by sheathing that thing. One can hardly expect him to give you a fair hearing when you're mouthing insults at him and waving a weapon around!" He looked down at her waist, at the top of the leather pants which had slipped almost comically low during her pratfall. "And for the land's sake, pull your pants up. Thrusting your butt-crack at him's not exactly going to charm him, either!"

The stranger spoke up and with every word he spoke Ira became a little more infuriated and her murderous intentions formed clearly on her face. "Miss bones as a fashion statement?! UTTERS! MY EGO! You son of a Bitch!" She intergected through his long dramatic speach. Maker, this guy was obnoxious. Ira was able to control herself until the man made his way in between her nd Valatar and addressed her personally.

"And you, fair lady, might start by sheathing that thing. One can hardly expect him to give you a fair hearing when you're mouthing insults at him and waving a weapon around! And for the land's sake, pull your pants up. Thrusting your butt-crack at him's not exactly going to charm him, either!"

That had done it. What little control she had over her temper snapped, and she lunged at the man tackling him to the ground, "THE ONLY THING I'M GOING TO SHEATH MY BLADE IN IS YOUR SORRY GUT!" Her bone gauntlet pressed against his neck and pointed the tip of her weapon to his belly. She was stradling his hips to hold him still. Her eyes glowing furiously in their eery shade of pale green as she snarled, "The only one with the ego is this pig I am sitting on. Only the yugile would be stupid enough to send someone as a mintrel who can't put a single decent sonnet together." She spat on the ground at the mentioning of the Yugile. "Yugile, ugh. What a bunch of worthless bastards trying to condemn the whole world. They have shut down half my camps already. what I would give to take a job at THAT ego!" She laughed maniacly emphasizing the word "jab" by poking her blade a bit harder against him.

Remembering the wizard she said without turning, "I will be with you in a moment, wizard." She leaned down closer to the man she was sitting on and looked directl into his eyes, her hair falling forward and mixing slightly with his disheveled hair. There was no fear in his eyes, only a cocky 'mightier than thou' 'you poor pitiful soul I loong to write a song about your tragic tale' look in his eyes. This agitated her more for some reason, she supposed it was a blow to her menecing ego that someone was not afraid of her as she held her blade to their gut. "What do you have to say now? any poetry coming to mind? No? No, 'Oh your eyes doth shine brighter than the shining stars, your anger doth not hurt me so, for I know tis your love that anger bars.'" Frustrated she growled, "Why do you not fear death."

"Oh, I do. I do," replied Secru, matter-of-factly. "But be honest now - would pleading for mercy do my any good? Hmm, thought not." He smiled at her. "On the other hand, the sound of that accent of yours quoting poetry - and I rather think that's one of my pieces, to add insult to injury - is surely enough murder for any one day!" And then, showing surprising agility, considering the position they were in, he managed to lean his neck forward - avoiding any damage from her fearsome blade - and planted a small kiss on the hand that was not holding the sword.

The brief moment of surprise and consternation that this caused was his chance - which was exactly why he'd done it. His left arm shot upwards, knocking away the blade of her sword, and simultaneously he drew his knees up, and kicked out and upwards, sending her somersaulting over his head. It was a well-known wrestling tactic in Kelina, and rarely worked, being so stale - but against an outsider it came as a complete surprise. As quick as lightning he scrambled to his feet, so as to be facing her when she landed.

"Not to mention the fact," he smiled. "That if you were the ice-cold assassin you'd like people to think you are, I'd have been dead long before we could have held that conversation. A lesson for you, stalker - you can fight, or you can chat." He held up the stone he'd grabbed as he'd got up. "I think I should mention, by the way, that I can bring a running hare down nine times out of ten. And even discounting those rather protuberant tittybooms of yours, you're a much bigger target. So rather than act on your first impulse - of charging at me waving that rather unwieldy looking blade around, and screaming some fearsome war-cry - why not stay where you are, like a good girl, eh?"

Ira yelped at being flipped but recovered nicely by landing acrobatically on her feet. She had to hold back the urge to charge him again. This boy was a tough one. It really had been foolish of her to not immediately spill his entrails all over the ground. She let her ego, as he said she might, get in the way and tripped over it. Oh how she really disliked herself at times. Growling angrily, beaten at her own game, her face flushed, her hair a complete mess. She was breathing heavily trying desperately to calm herself and force herself to be cool, but it seemed fultile. Just looking at him made her want to skin him alive and put his head on a pike. Pushing past him roughly she sheathed her weapon with such force it nearly broke through its guard, she appraoched the Wizard. "What do you want to know? ask and be done so I made rid myself of his presence and be on my way." She wiped her hand that he had kissed on her pants in more an attempt to wipe off the shock from that simple action than anything. She was definitly going to need a drink after this. A large one.

"oh, Stalker. Just one thing - " Still holding the stone with his right hand, Secru fumbled at his belt with his left, untying a medium-sized leathern flask, which he tossed to her in a fluid motion. "It's Kellinian green spirit, made from distilled grain. As smooth as silk, and with a kick like two fevered mules." He doubted that she knew anything about Kellinian culture - but if she did, she'd realize that sharing liquor was a thing only done between the bravest of the brave. For one Kellinian to offer a flask - particularly of liquor - to another was a tribute unparalleled, and a sign of ultimate respect. For some reason, despite this creature's strange accent and rude ways, he found himself liking her. Weirder still, he wanted her to like him, though he wouldn't admit it - and it wasn't just her stunning figure either. And he sensed, somehow, that in this situation a flattering poem wouldn't cut it! "It's OK," he laughed. "I didn't spit in it. Promise"

Leo crept closer and closer to the scene of all the commotion atop his fair steed, though was becoming less and less sure as to what he would find. As he approached the commotion grew louder, shouts from a few echoing through the trees. He was sure that this was the direction in which the pulse of power had come from, though he wasn't sure he was going to find the culprit behind it. He was pretty sure he was going to find a rabble of children, grown up children by the sounds of their voices.

The scene he had come across was rather confusing, so much so that even his horse had stopped at the edge of the clearing without needing to be told. His brow rose slightly as he found whom he assumed to be a wizard holding a dramatic pose with a sphere of what he guessed to be some form of energy in his hands. A flustered looking female stood nearby, flushed red and with hair a mess, glaring towards the mage. She looked like some sort of bandit from her appearance, Leo would have to keep tabs on her and all his possessions. And on the other side was another man, who had just tossed something towards the girl. He didn't look like anything to be afraid of, though when Leo thought about it - he probably didn't look like much either.

"Err..." he couldn't exactly find the words that would enable him to enter the conversation. He kept the bladed gauntlet on his right arm loose by his side, posing no real threat to any of them. He wasn't one for shedding blood where it wasn't necessary, not any more. "It seems I have stumbled on a rather curious situation..." Leo said idly as his dark eyes wandered over the trio. He was still unsure as to what to make of the situation, and so stood there awkwardly and could only wait for their reactions to his appearance.

Upon the first sign of their performance, the illusion spell had disappeared and he lowered his defensive stance and crossed his arms. Sighing lightly to himself as he waited for the two love birds to settle down. During this time, he was planning on casting a spell towards both of them, but he felt they had handled the situation, and no one was slicing anything, at the moment.

He did take note that both of them had spat when they mentioned the word Yugile. It could've been a rouse, but he was beginning to doubt that these fools were even part of the Yugile's ranks, as those people worked more effectively and weren't caught up in each others appearances, nor did they flirt. He sighed again when they both addressed him on separate occasions.

Still, Valatar was at a loss for words when the third person appeared from near the edge of the forest. He glanced over at the person and then back at the other three. 'It would've been easier to kill both of them.' He thought, letting out another sigh. "You," He pointed at the female, "You can leave. If you chose." He gestured towards the other two, though he wasn't exactly sure who the third one was, Valatar was thinking it would be easier to sit down at a table and talk things over, out of the sight of prying eyes or unwanted ears. "You two come with me.." He shook his head at the idiotic move that he was about to pull as he started walking towards the door. Once he was at the door, he opened it and waited for the others to step inside.

The Elemental shifted across the landscape, following Ivelios as he made his way with haste towards the inner 'womb' of the forest where there sat an immense lake. His slender elven body could easily muster the maneuverability to swing from three lib to tree limb. His hands, gripping and sliding around the outward lying limbs gaining momentum as he did the feat. The colossus behind him continued its habitual growth of its legs, drawing up the soils and clay before breaking them as it stalked behind.

Ivelios landed on a tree, crouching on the limb as he looked out over nearly a mile long lake front. The depth of the lake he wasn't for sure, but he was aware that was where the Gold dragon lived--at the bottom deep and far away from the surface. He was a powerful ranger and he couldn't even begin to tread the waters deep enough. He pointed to where he wanted the moose hung. The elemental body twisted, shrinking into a small tree with the moose hanging vertically by the the tendons of its back legs.

The reason why he chose this location? It was his home. The tree he was on was in fact his 'house'. He began to set about cleaning and field stripping the animal; using its hide to make a new leather outfit and maybe foot wear as well. Life was simple here and he enjoyed it that way. It didn't have the bustle or greed of a city dwelling.

Secru shrugged, and followed Leo and the wizard through the door of the hovel. He deliberately didn't look at the stalker, though he was eaten up with curiosity as to whether or not she'd vamoosed, or if she'd taken the option of entering with them. He wanted to know if she'd deigned to drink from the flask he'd tossed her, or just tossed it into the dust. Or even if she was looking at him. If nothing else, he'd have liked to have gazed on her beauty once more, in case she were to vanish out of his sight and life forever. But there are things a man does not do in the arena of love, and so Secru did not do them. He did, however, manage not to tense his back muscles too vividly, in anticipation of the thrust of her massive sword!

Well, at least, he thought, once they got inside he'd see the elf-maiden again. He'd have at least something pleasant to look at. But though he told himself this, he wasn't really fooling himself. He knew deep inside he desperately wanted the stalker to come in, too.

Then, at least, maybe he'd get to know her name!

Gorred eyes scanned the few maps at the table , each had several marks on each of places that seemed to be a fail of a search for the woman that was going to destroy the land he loved so much. Gripping his beard he pulled as he stroked thinking of places and why. Thinking aloud he mumbled "Too obvious, but maybe that is what the wizard wants us to think." he paused looking at place he had sent divisions to search for her. A simple circle with a notch for each time they reported in. more than three notches and he sends a bit more troops. The land wasn't vast, but when someone could be anywhere he felt even flipping moss over to check still wasn't doing enough.

Gorred sat down with a sigh thinking what he would do if this was a war. The key was he wanted the people to assist, to bring the land whole again. Yet he couldn't seem to figure out how to get them on his side of the matter. Closing his eyes he again thought of what he would do if he was running out of men in a war. Speeches were nice, but they more often than not tended to raise moral more than support. The light in his head light up and a devious grin crossed his lips as he rushed for a piece of blank parchment and something to write with.

I know full well I do not have much support of the citizens of this land. My actions I can not undo. But I ask of you all to forget about the politics for a moment. For this land means more than anything. For most of us it is where we grew up, our parents, grandparents. Many fathers giving their blood, sweat, tears, or even lives for this land. This place we work hard to keep. Let us not fight each other right now. This is important, we are one. Weather you choose to believe a orical or not you need to ask yourselves. Is this land less important than the life of a single girl? Wouldn't it be much safer to take the chance of saving this land, at the cost of only one life? That one life that is no different from you or I. That one life that because she was born in a higher class than you expects that you will protect her from something that has been recorded as destiny. We are not her's, we do not serve her, we are people of this land! The land no matter the class has always been there. We fight for what is ours from others, and not we must find her for so she doesn't take from us what is rightfully the peoples! That is why, I Gorred Kebotvi Leader of the Yugile, not only ask for your help in protecting this land, but also offer a reward. Not only for information that leads to her capture, but even more if you bring her in. I personally will pay for every cent. Why? Because I would do anything to keep this land whole.

Gorred smiled looking over his note. Quickly he darted as much as his massive body would let him down the halls to have this copied by scribes. A small note was added to the paper. It wrote "I would like this posted at least once on a street. In the lower income areas leave a copy at each door. 4 in each inn and tavern. Everywhere in the land.

Listel had taken the time that Valatar had given her to get her bow and quiver. Since it was obvious that Valatar, assumed what Listel had that the odd young man was not a Yugile. She just made sure she was armed and ready just in case. She stood back as Valatar opened the door, the young man came in she stood there as he came watching him pass. Leaning on her long bow, she noticed the other man that had rode up on the horse now this one was different than the other. This one was obviously someone that Listel would keep an eye on.

He looked like a warrior, and radiated someone with valor, and loyalty, but loyal to whom was the question. She hoped for the best but planned for the worst. She gave him a cautious look to let him know she was suspicious of him. She hoped that er feelings were well voiced because she wanted the to squirm if they were after the princess they wouldn't live to see the next day.

Leo was more confused as the wizard dismissed the girl and told himself and the other man to follow him. He was not asked his name, nor his purpose, and yet the wizard still invited him into the small house nearby. His brow rose slightly as he watched the other man enter the house, guessing that there was nothing more he could do than follow. Perhaps this was the wizard he had been searching for, and perhaps the wizard knew of the men that would be sent from the council. Leo couldn't help but hope that he hadn't found Valatar already, as it would bring him much closer to the point of needing a decision: he wasn't ready to decide yet.

He swallowed hard as he dismounted from his steed, waiting for his ragged cloak to settle before leading the mare closer to the house. He patted her neck hard, wishing the horse to take a break for a while. She wouldn't run away while he was inside, her tired legs wouldn't take her much further than the nearest patch of decent grass. With that, he slid past the Wizard into the small house, and confronted with the cautious glare of a female elf: whom was armed. Of course she would be suspicious of him, considering he had practically appeared from nowhere and was now inside her house without a question of his identity. He took refuge in the corner of the room, back against the wall and arms gingerly folded as he glanced between the elf and the wizard. The sun occasionally caught the black armour on his shoulder, the emblem of the mercenary guild he was part of branded into it. Even though he was a travelling mercenary, he had joined a guild when he first started, and when he passed through the town he would visit. The few friends he had were within the guild, and it had taught him all the disciplines needed for being a worthy mercenary.

"I wasn't expecting an invitation into your home, after only just finding you all in the forest..." He commented, taking a moment to look around the place. It wasn't a bad place considering it was in the middle of the forest.

"Yes, it seems these folk are more hospitable than we first gave them credit for," said Secru to Leo, calmly seating himself at the table in the center of the room. "If one disregards the odd lightning-bolt, of course." He looked at the Elven woman. "And the fact that this lady doesn't trust us enough to put her weapons down." He spread his hands. "Secru Suamo, known for some unfathomable reason as 'The Ghost.' Traveling troubadour, wit, and occasional warrior. At your service. Have harp, will travel." He regarded her, wondering if and when that reserve of hers would ever crack. It didn't look likely. He'd had enough of women who hated him on sight, today. He still had no idea if the stalker had entered the hut, if so he couldn't see her. He looked across at Leo, appraisingly. He was impressed by the other warrior's appearance - and he was a Kallinian, who didn't impress easy. "Do I take it, Sir, that you're going to stay lurking in that corner, or has the idea of coming out and introducing yourself occurred to you?"

Ira frowned at being dismissed so easily as she drank the flask nearly choking as the liquor scorched down her throat. "Holy maker...." She rasped to herself. She popped her neck her brows raised in effort to get the burn down. She had noticed the third male riding up and she was curious as to what his intentions were. My this morning had been an eventful one and I am sure riding up on them in the current stance must be a strange sight indeed.

Then the wizard invited them in, and Ira had to stop and seriously consider her options. She could, a, leave and be free never see the annoying murdering minstrel again, or B, follow them in and continue this maddness a little more. Decisions decisions. She took another swig and furrowed her brow as she battled with choice. By this time the other three had already moved inside the hut without her noticing. Eventually her curiosity won out and and sighed, "Ira, you better hope you arent getting yourself into something too serious."

She stepped lightly to the door and let herself in as she had been invited to stay. Immediately spotting the elven woman who had answered the door previously, who was now leaning against her bow. She nodded in respect for entering her home and and took a spot in the shadows across from the minstrel. He was going on with his introduction at the moment. 'Secru the Ghost....' she thought to herself. 'nah. my nick name for him is better.' Her eyes rolled high as he managed to come across as a salesman selling himself. ' and I'm the one with the ego. pfft' Slipping the flask in her belt, Ira let her eyes fall onto the other stranger waiting for his response, then perhaps she would introduce herself as well. This man looked much more her type. Menacing...manly. Yes, this was a worrior, and she hoped Secru was taking notes.

With the masking spell intact Aveline heard the others enter the room with Valatar. Curiosity got the best of her so she quietly made her way to the kitchen and put a pot on the already small fire. Finding the small satchel she reached in and pulled some of the ashy powder out and sprinkled it on the fire causing it to roar into a larger fire to better heat the water. Quickly she gathered up tea cups and set about making tea while the others began talking and explaining who they were. She listened intently while preparing the cups and set them on a small wooden tray.
Settling a bowl of sugar and a cup of cream on the tray she made her way into the sitting room where everyone had gathered. "Valatar, guest? Good thing I made some tea." she smiled at the small group that had gathered, noticing one had weapons in her hands still. Without pause Aveline moved around the table setting a cup of tea before each person and finished by setting one before Valatar, she then set the sugar and cream in the middle of the table and two spoons. "Enjoy" and she stepped back and stood behind Valatar, her eyes roaming over each patron that sat at the table.
The man seemed harmless, his features suggested he was more a lover than a fighter while the females seemed as if they'd spent their entire lives fighting someone more so the woman who still had her weapons displayed. She wasn't sure though that they could be trusted yet, after all. Everyone was looking for her and with Valatar's masking spell they wouldn't know they'd been standing in the room with the very Princess everyone wanted dead.
Aveline found she knew not the name of this Secru man who'd introduced himself. Perhaps maybe he'd been at the palace entertaining the King and Queen, but she was never introduced to half the people who came and went from the castle. Leaning in she whispered to Valatar. "Did you invite to stay a while, if so Listel and I will need to prepare supper soon?"

Much as he hated to admit it, Secru's heart began to beat a little faster when he saw that his stalker had entered the hut. He deliberately didn't look at her any more than a normal glance - no point letting her see how fascinated he was with her. "If there's anything left in my flask, stalker -" he said, airily "I'd appreciate you tossing it back." He looked across at the far wall, where his scabbarded sword leaned. At least they trusted him enough that they hadn't hidden it. He had a spare in his traps, but this one was his favorite, renowned for its balance and wieldiness, and he'd have preferred not to lose it.

He looked as the rough-looking servant entered, and began making tea. He saw the look she gave him, and noticed how unimpressed she looked. Well, who could blame her - she'd probably never read a poem in her life, probably couldn't read at all. And he doubted she'd appreciate good music. Presumably she was some local drab they'd recruited for domestic help. He had to admit though, that under the coarse grime and dirt, she was a pretty piece. If she put her mind to it, she could give my little stalker some stiff competition, he thought. With the accent on the "stiff"...

Something didn't quite ring true, though. For a peasant girl, her accent was very refined. More like someone who'd spent time at court, than a field girl or local yokel. And the delicate, economical way she moved was something he associated with the aristocracy, not a cheap hired-help. He wondered if she was someone who'd come down in the world.

In any case, he thanked her politely - where he came from, politeness was a way of life, as it is in any society where minor spats are settled with killing weapons - and sampled the tea. He found his eyes flicking from the stalker to the servant-girl and back again, comparing the two. Not, he knew, that either of them cared which one he preferred, but it was better than getting bored, in the tense, silent atmosphere of mistrust that pervaded the dwelling.

Leo's gaze was fixed on the man that was apparently called The Ghost, brow risen slightly as he looked the man up and down. His attire was not familiar with that of a warrior, and quite frankly the man's consistent talking was already beginning to grate on Leo's nerves.
"Your name betrays you, Sir Ghost. For the spirits do not babble as much as you..." He said with a flat tone. He could tell them from experiences with Fior that spirits, or what they might call ghosts, were not like what most usually thought them to be. Of course, there were some that fit the stereotypical ghost, but others were nothing close to it. With his first comment made, he let out a sigh. He watched as another entered the room, now wondering how big this place actually was. It seemed on the cosy side for three people, and it was getting a little cramped in here with six. Even so, he gave the girl an appreciative nod: his eyes shining with the smile that he couldn't bring to his features. Smiling was hard these days, especially since he had left Fior with the council.

He took the tea in the hand without a gauntlet, the band of silver around his finger glinting in the awkward lighting as he took a small sip. When refreshed enough, he turned his attention to the wizard and armed elf,
"My name is Leo Tamesis, member of the Black Knights mercenary guild." He told them, pride flashing in dark eyes as he spoke his guild's name. If these people were educated enough in the world of hired warriors, the Black Knights were bound to ring a bell. The emblem of an armoured gryphon was branded to his shoulder plate - another sign of his guild. He'd been given the armour when he had become one of the Black Knights, though in those days he couldn't carry a full set of armour. He had only ever used the shoulder guard and bladed gauntlet, a feat that made him stand out amongst his guild.

When he had finished his introduction, he returned to his quiet self as he waited for the wizard and the women to explain why they had all been suddenly invited into the house when the wizard had previously been attacking these two and only having just met him moments before. While waiting, he continued to sip the tea with his un-armoured hand.

"I recognized the brand on your armor, Sir Tamesis. If you were wondering why I had freely allowed you to step into this abode without any question." Valatar spoke, breaking the silence that had settled in. "While I don't know who sent you, or your actual purpose here, I'm hoping you were hired by people who could be sympathetic to a particular cause."

Shutting the door behind the thief as she entered. "Don't touch anything." He whispered as she walked past him. He then turned his attention back to the others. "I felt it necessary to stop playing court yard games and discuss things away from certain prying eyes and ears. These two," He gestured towards the man who had introduced himself as Secru, The Ghost and the thief "Have already given me a slight over-view as to who they would rather support. In the most bare amount of words."

"You, Sir Tamesis," He said, "Your services are something that mark you as a potential enemy, or a potential ally in the months to come. Ultimately that depends on the highest bidder."

Valatar looked away from the mercenary, and began to address the three. "I don't know the reasons why you were brought here. But it could not have been out of happenstance that three people wandered onto the doorsteps of this abode, armed."

He paused, briefly, letting something sink in before continuing with, "So. Why are you here?"

While he spoke, he had hoped that Listel had been paying attention to the eleven sign language he had been gesturing with his hands, which said, "Listel, as much as I dislike bringing three strangers into this dwelling. It's better to have them closer together than in an open field in case things go south. That one," His earlier gesture when he pointed out the Secru and the thief, "We'll need to keep an eye on, and for her, I remember where she was from now, though she was younger. That little brat who attempted to steal somethings from the palace."

He continued speaking, and gesturing the sign language, as if he was talking aloud with his hands more, in an attempt to disguise that he was multi-tasking, and even at times, the sign language wasn't fluent enough to understand. Though, he had hoped what he had said, managed to get through. After he was done speaking, he crossed his arms and leaned back on the door, waiting for the others reactions, shaking his head when the servant girl offered him tea.

Aveline knew Valatar was tense, so much in fact she saw how his jawline twitched as he spoke. She remembered making him angry enough that she could pinpoint how angry he was by how fast his jaw twitched. For now though he was mildly agitated, a good sign for this small band before him. Finding he didn't wish tea and that he'd not answered her question Aveline removed his cup and returned to the kitchen. She emptied the cup and cleaned it, softly humming a song her mother had taught her when she was little.
After finishing up she made her way back to the sitting room and found a seat away from the table, listening while they discussed why they'd come. Aveline's eyes roamed over the one who called himself The Ghost, he wasn't bad to look at but the way he'd look at her earlier indicated he thought her average. She inwardly smiled, if only he knew what she really looked like.
She then focused on the one he called his stalker, she was beautiful and understood why The Ghost couldn't keep his eyes off of her. She roamed over each individual admiring one or two things about them, but still wondered as Valatar voiced, why were they here. Valatar was being discreet in his hand motions but even she knew that he was sending messages to Listel, they'd done it often enough.
Aveline kind of had hoped over time those two would grow feelings for one another, but alas it seemed fruitless, each of them were so serious in their job to keep her safe they barely had time for romance. The sudden thought came to Aveline, if these people were here at dusk Valatar's masking spell would dispel and he wouldn't be able to recreate it till morning.
If they were still around she'd have to remain hidden in her room, but then again everything road on why they were here. But Aveline had a feeling they'd be leaving the homely hut this night, her heart told her this was the beginning of her destiny the one the Yugile feared most.

Listel read all of Valatar's signs and understood it would be easier to take them all out in one fatal swoop if they were all here. Valatar was smart and crafty, Listel had to admit that over the years she had come to respect the wizard and the if they were in different circumstances she might be interested in a relationship with him but, they didn't have time for that sort of thing. And frankly she didn't think that Valatar saw her in that sort of way. She signed her agreement to his choice of bringing in these "interesting", people.

When Aveline came in and asked if they wanted tea, Listel mirrored Valatar in his response of no. She didn't want to be in the middle of drinking tea and this motley crew attack them. She hopped Valatar had plans on how to get them out of the hut before, dusk.

Re: [OOC] Unrequited Destiny

Alright so I've come to the conclusion that I really don't want to babysit people and keep messaging them to post, so I'm giving everyone roughly a week to decide if they want to continue this roleplay, it's quite apparent I can come up with good ideas, but sorry in keeping people interested enough that they keep coming back. I'll check back on the 22nd, if there are no new posts I'll close it down with much disappointment.

Re: [OOC] Unrequited Destiny

Busy busy bee you are ShadeYuka, have fun for me, I plan on going to the zoo this Monday since I've only been once in my life. So it shall be enjoyable. Hope to see a post on friday.

Re: [OOC] Unrequited Destiny

Not quite a necessary notice, but if she does post her reaction, don't expect a post from me until Friday, at the latest. Apparently the electrical company is cutting power in this area for some repairs, for a good 4 to 8 hours, and in that mean time, I'll be at a theme park. xD
