"I know. I read your report." Takeshi turned towards Reino while whipping the last of the blood from his face onto his black pants. The only thing that made it clear he had been in a battle was the fact that he was shirtless with a few quick healing bruises on his chest, the smudged blood stains below his right eye, and the dried blood on his left hand. He was glad his report had already gotten there, last time the dumb bird took three days. "I'm also informed about your catch. I will handle it personally." Takeshi tensed. They both knew what that Vampire might know, but it was clear there was no arguing in the matter. If anyone could get the bastard to speak, it would be Reino. Takeshi sat down in one of the chairs in front of the older mans desk, forcing himself to relax a bit more than he would anywhere else. Takeshi trusted Reino more than anyone else as the moment, he wouldn't want anyone else other than himself and Reino speaking to Rin.

"I have informed the Headmaster about your transfer to Cross Academy." Takeshi took the transfer papers with a in-different look set on his face. He should have seen this one coming, part of his did, but it still was a little unsettling. He should have known through, that he would be sent to that Academy, he shouldn't have let that boy die. "You will probably be chosen as the new prefect and aid my daughter Sera in her duties." Now he had to play prefect? Weren't there more important things that had to be done? Like finding the bastard that had killed his family. There's no arguing with him. He's already made up his mind. Takeshi sighed and leaned back slightly, his eyes scanning over the paper silently. "Remember this, I want you to keep Sera away from what is happening at Cross Academy." His daughter? Why would he even let the girl go to that Academy? It was clear it was most likely more dangerous than a prison filled with escaped convicts, did the Academy get attack a lot? Or was that a one time thing? If it was going to happen again, Onyx would have to be better per-paired.

"Do what you must." The silence stretched for a moment. Do what he must? Do what he must to keep Reino's daughter safe. So that was his new mission. It wasn't a bad one, and it wasn't one he was willing to turn away. He had already helped the girl once, gotten a good look at her and saved her appearance into the many files in his head, if need be, he would be able to sneak around her and keep an eye on her at all times, keep all harm away from her, it didn't sound like a hard job, but these were often the hardest ones. "As you wish. I will be taking Koji, Ishi, and Dai with me." Takeshi stood up and headed towards the door. It was true when said that he rarely split away from his team, and that they all couldn't stand not being around him. "They'll be useful backup if another attack takes place, I'll send a letter to the Headmaster immediately. Koji and Dai will be in the Day Class with me, but Ishi will be in the Night Class." Plans were already forming in his head. He would have Ishi keep a watchful eye on the Pure-Blood, and most likely he could get Koji and Dai to watch over Sera and the white haired human while he was un-able to do so himself. They would all serve as extra eyes and ears. "We'll leave before dawn." He turned to door knob half way before stopping and pausing for a moment.

"My catch, Rin, had my Black Flames within him. A effective torture method would be to bring ice down onto his skin. It would awaken the flames and boil that area until the ice is removed." A small knowning smrik spread out on his face, through his back was still to the older man. Takeshi had used this method before, he was the one to develop it. It was for the cases when the catch's were more than tight lipped, it was for the ones that refused to speak a single word. "It can be used as a last resort, but I wouldn't suggest giving him Ice water to drink." He left that open, knowing fully that the other man would understand the effect Ice water would have from within. It would cause in near death, if your lucky, that is. "If you get any information, please, send for me." Takeshi's voice was low for a moment. It was clear he didn't want to be left out on anything that was presented to him, he wanted to be able to avenge his family. "I will send a report every week. Farewell." With that, Takeshi walked out of the office and to his own room so he could pack.

"When silence descends, all I could truly do is wait again for the time when I can say, welcome home."

Tamesis explained to her the details of what happened when she had emotionally broke down to care about anything else than Saken who was in her arms at that time. So, everything had been taken care of. She was thankful to hear the worse was over. It was true as he had said, there was little she could do since all the contingencies had been processed. But, it irked her that she was not much of help. Moreover, she became a concern when it was not supposed to be that way. She still needed to get more strong than she is now. It is a must as she would enter the world of the hunters once she graduated. Despite, her father and brother's insistence to remain as she is, a normal girl.

It made her wonder if she was just a normal girl, would she be able to stop such sad things from happening? Before, she was normal but she lost her mother. Now, she was not that normal. Still, she lost her partner. So, there was one thing she could comprehend from all of this. She had to grow stronger that she could no longer be weak. For those she cherishes, she wanted to be strong enough to protect them and never see another life fade in front of her eyes. She did not want to be helpless and be left behind. It was far too sad and painful.

Anyway, the pure-blood also informed her about the one who took her to the infirmary. It was a man named Takeshi Hiiragi who had become her boyfriend. Good enough, it was just a misunderstanding. She knew the person not on a personal basis but by reputation. He was the one who was second to her Father and a formidable rival for her brother in terms of skills. That person was truly indeed from the Association. She knew for a fact that the hunters will inadvertently lend a hand to this situation. Somehow, she was not convinced it will be left at that. Knowing her father, the man was very protective of her as if she was a precious china that can fall apart with the slightest touch. When in truth, she was not that fragile at all.

Trying to recall the events, she searched for any images of this Takeshi Hiiragi. Soon, she came up with an unknown face in her memory. That must be him. They had quite the first meeting. She cried in front of him. Releasing a sigh about this, she watched as Tamesis told her to rest by guiding her back to bed. She did not made it much of a fight as she followed. The pure-blood even made a point that she was not alone. She knew that well enough as she gave a small smile and a nod. "I hear you princess." She teased lightly as Tamesis was still wearing a gown. Once the two were out, she looked at her current appearance.

She was still wearing her costume which was supposed to be white. It had now become red, a stain that did not come from her. She touched a portion of her kimono and her eyes reflected sadness. "Saken..." She whispered with gentleness as silence loomed over her form. After a while, she decided to take her much needed rest at her room. Better yet, she will get a bath and have herself cleaned up. The nurses did little to stop her as she seemed okay and really, Sera was someone who no one can stop once she sets her mind on something. So, they simply gave way to the female prefect who was emotionally standing firmly on a floor full of broken glass.

Reaching her room, she decided to take a shower to remove the blood on her skin and even some which had made its way to her hair. When she was done, she was now wearing an old black sailor uniform. It was her mother's. She did not mean to as she had subconsciously reached for it. Anyway, she could not rest yet as what Tamesis wanted. There was still something she needed to do before this day ends. She left her room and went to the portion of the Sun Dormitory where the boys stay. Walking through the hallways, she finally found what she was looking for. She hold the door knob and fortunately, it was opened. When she entered, she looked around the room. This was where Saken lived in his stay at the academy.

Seeing his desk, she approached it and saw his sketch book. She opened it and looked at the drawings. Saken was a good artist but it also showed his fascination with cute animals. There were drawings of Orpei, Bibi, and other cuddly animals. On occasion, she could see some sketches of the night class, where Tamesis and Inoue are prominent. Then, there would be Daitokuji with Bibi. Reaching the final pages, she found different portraits of herself. Saken was also sketching her. "So sly he is." But at the last page, she cannot help but feel that her eyes were about to get teary. There she was looking at the sunset with smile and in his writing, my beloved sunset maiden.

"Saken...." She muttered in sadness and regret as she held the sketch book closed to her. It was then she heard something moving at the corner. That was probably what she truly came here for. Approaching it, she lowered herself to the floor and reached out her hand. "Come here, little puppy." It took a a while before the said puppy came forward. Apprehension was natural as the puppy smelled her hand. Then, it went towards her as she picked it up. The puppy nuzzled her face as if it knew what happened with the one who was taking care of it. Saken did say it was smart. "I'll be the one to take care of you now. I hope you don't mind. I'll be calling you Saken."The puppy barked in agreement and then, she felt her tears finally falling once more.

Reino released a long sigh as he leaned on his chair and looked at the ceiling once Takeshi had left. He knew well what the boy was going through and the information he needed to accomplish that one goal. There was no way he would stop the boy with the justice called revenge. He did the same thing when his wife was taken away from him. At some point, he also wished for that boy to find a place of peace. Cross Academy is truly a place in between which makes it a fragile target to many. But, it was also a place of serenity in one way or another. A chance to feel a bit normal. He wanted Takeshi to experience that and knowing he will be there to keep an eye for his daughter, it was killing two birds with one stone.

In any case, he has an interview scheduled. He only wondered if the applicant will last through the series of his questions. At the same time, Takeshi did provide a certain leverage in his favor. Standing from his chair, he took one last look at the family picture. "Veronica watched over them." With that, he soon exited his office to deal with a certain good-for-nothing noble lackey. Just like that, the night soon came to an end and new sun rises from the horizon. A new day was upon them all.

"In the land of unknown futures and broken dreams, there was one thing that is certain. The vision which is you which I will never be able to forget nor would I ever want to."

It was a nice feeling to touch her like this. Even more so, he was glad to have her response so positively to his gestures. It may be viewed odd but he liked feeling her skin against his. This was something new for him. Never once did he desire to hold someone like this as much as he was feeling now. The warmth which he finds completely soothing and pleasing to him. He softly smiled at Daitokuji as the girl responded to his words. The moment they became friends. He remembered it was rather shaky. Before this event, he had respected her wishes for him to stay away. "I believed I said goodbye to you. You wanted me to stay away." He reminded her as she reinstated that she will stay by his side even when he does not want her to be anymore.

He looked at their entwined fingers with satisfaction. "I''m glad because now I can get to say Hello to you." Looking at her, he gently tucked some loose strands behind her ears with his free hand. He even wiped some dirt and blood which splattered on her from the fight she had underwent. "You don't need to worry. I will never want you to go away." Leaning closely to her face, he allowed their forehead to touch once more. It was comforting gesture which he had instinctively done out of specific feelings. "So, please don't ever tell me to stay away from you again."

After stating that, he noticed that Daitokuji was still not ready to leave his side. At the same time, he was feeling the same thing. He thought for a moment and then nodded to himself in agreement. "I want you to see something." Pulling away from her, he then tugged her hand to a certain direction. It was directed to the gardens. He was really having a hard time moving around with this ball gown. Really, he wondered how women managed to walk around in these kind of clothes as if it was nothing. Anyway, he would have to endure it. After all, Daitokuji was worse than him. She was covered in blood and even ripped a portion of her kimono.

Soon, they arrived the destination. Khalid pointed at the rose archways which he had created by him alone. It was something he had intended to show his sister Keilani to ease the girl's temperament. However, he was also a bit glad that Keilani had left beforehand and was angry with him. If she was not, his sister might have done something to sneak in during the ball. He could not live with himself if anything happens to Keilani. After all, he was his precious sister even if he cannot respond to her affections in a way she wanted to. "I'm not sure if you are fond of roses. I made it for my sister." He noted which made him think, Daitokuji has yet to see Keilani. Thinking about it, he wondered if Keilani and Yukiko would get along.

"It's useless to create something for my mortal enemy!" That was right, Orpei was flying above them watching everything with a close eye. The pink familiar was still not find with anyone getting too close to his Master. However, he could give this white-haired girl a degree of leniency. Khalid looked at Orpei who soon landed on his head with those red eyes showing mild irritation. "Orpei, she is my sister." This made the familiar pout and huffed in strained understanding which made the pure-blood sigh before looking at Daitokuji again. "Next time, I want to create something you like."

Releasing her hand, Khalid went towards to one of the nearby rose bushes. He gently plucked one. Fortunately, the ones being grown at the garden were the ones without thorns. He then looked back at Yukiko with those warm and gentle blue eyes of his. "Here." He started as he placed it on her white hair as an accessory. It suited her perfectly as he looked at her with such admiration. She was beautiful. She always had. "You are beautiful, Yukiko." Orpei immediately intervened on this. If it was possible for the pink familiar to blow a whistle, he would have. Orpei hovered in between the two. "Why do you not make something for me? And why are you giving her a rose and not me?"

The pure-blood released an awkward laughter and looked at Yukiko with apology. "Calm down, Orpei. You were never interested in my works before." The familiar blinked at this fact which was true and tried to save face. "N--Not true!" Khalid shook his head at this and patted Orpei's head in an affectionate manner in which the familiar relented soon after wards. Orpei flew to the side as the pure-blood looked at Yukiko. "I really want to know more about you, Yukiko." Then again, Orpei was really not a patient familiar to begin with. "I'm hungry!" Khalid shook his head once more and smiled at Yukiko apologetically.

"We can see each other whenever we want." After saying that, he leaned forward once more. It would appear he would connect their foreheads again but, it was not so. This time, he placed a innocent kiss on her forehead. "Rest, because we will have each other from now on. Come, I'll walk you to your dormitory." He stated as he reached out his hand to her. If she took it or not, Khalid had decided to accompany Yukiko in which Orpei was positively displeased about. Well, there was not much of helping that. Once there, they separated ways amicably letting this day end on that note.

Upon returning to his room, he immediately removed himself from the gown and cleaned himself. Afterwards, he once more drank his regular meal of tomato juice. Somehow, it was not able to quench his hunger like it used to. On Orpei's account, the pink furball was now munching on some sweets. After his meal, he laid down on his bed and went to sleep. It was because he wanted to wake up to a day where he will be able to see Yukiko and even note how irritating his bangs were. This was quite surprising and fascinating for him to have someone completely cover the large piece of his canvas. Somehow, he does not regret it at all. As such, he had fallen asleep. Soon, tomorrow came as the sun rises.

"If there was no future, I wouldn't mind. Because the only thing that matters right now is the present and what it can bring."

Was it wrong to cherish this feeling? This foreign feeling that was slowly taking hold of her? The reason: the boy that was currently holding her hand. It was because of him that these new-found feelings were becoming a mystery to her and ever so persistent. They were slowly causing the rapid beating of her heart, the confusion of her mind, and the flushing of her face. These were all new feelings for her, and she wasn't exactly sure how to respond to them. It is why she said what she had, because it was true. She wouldn't know if she would be able to stay away from the pure-blood. He was becoming a much integral part of her life and she hadn't realized it quite yet. It was true, she did tell him to stay away, and that she didn't want to see him. But in doing so, she had caused a sadness to swell within her that she never wanted to feel again.

"Never. I will never say those words again," she whispered, almost as if the words were as delicate as glass and would shatter if she said them any louder, allowing him to rest his forehead against hers. She stared at him as he moved some of her hair and tucked it behind her ears. He even managed to wipe some of the grime off of her face, which she was slightly thankful for. The dried liquid was beginning to irritate her, and although she didn't want to leave his side just yet, she would have to eventually. Then, he stated he wanted to show her something, pulling her along as they walked towards a particular area. Although she won't admit it out loud, but it was rather amusing to watch him as he struggled a bit to move in the gown he was still wearing. Although she wanted to smile, she frowned. He shouldn't have been in that gown to begin with. It was just...wrong in her mind.

But then again it was Halloween and he wasn't the only male participant dressed as a female. There were a few Day Class students who were dressed almost similar to the Tamesis pure-blood and even still it didn't quite sit right with Yukiko. She wouldn't mind...her thoughts paused as they approached an archway. It was a beautiful sight to behold, and as such, Yukiko did not take her eyes off of the display. Even as Khalid spoke, her eyes remained glued to the archway. Granted, flowers and things like this were not truly her cup of tea, however; she had grown to appreciate the Gardening Club and their ability to turn something so dull and lifeless into something truly awe inspiring. She turned to glance at him when he mentioned that he was the one that created it. It was meant for his sister. So he had a sibling, and a sister at that.

How odd that the two were not together, or were they? It wasn't an uncommon thing within pure-blood families, that much she knew. She had even experienced it slightly when her father's sister presented her son to him in hopes of keeping the Daitokuji bloodline within the family. She was grateful at the time when her father had rejected the notion. Of course the reason behind that was still rather vague and unknown, but she didn't mind. The thought of him with someone else, however; caused a slight pain in her being. As such, she frowned slightly. What was that feeling? Was that...jealousy? Was she jealous of someone? How could that be so? She pushed the thoughts away and returned her attention to Khalid. "I think she'll love it once she sees it," she stated, smiling softly in the process. When had smiling become so easy to her? "They are lovely," she continued as she returned her sight to the archway. She only glanced at Khalid when he spoke once more and placed a rose in her hair.

She watched his hands as they laced around the rose, intertwining it in her hair before pulling away. His next statement caused her to tilt her head slightly and rose a brow in confusion. Beautiful? Surely he was being chaff. There was nothing beautiful about her, or at least in her own eyes there wasn't. "You have an odd eye for beauty then if that is what you think," she replied, but it was said in a tone of embarrassment. She was grateful to the familiar as he intervened. She turned her head slightly away from the pure-blood so he couldn't see the faint rise of pink hues rising in her cheeks. His next statement caused her to return her attention to him. He wanted to know more about her? What else was there to know?

She hadn't lived an interesting or eventful life. It was dull, plain, and just there. At least in her own opinion that is how it was. She truly didn't think anything of her life and it was odd to find someone who stated that they wanted to know more about her. Well, there was one way for him to know, but that would require a great deal of trust to be given. Whether she was willing to do that, she would sort through it once she had proper rest. As of right now, her heart was beating terribly fast and she was trying to calm it down. They have each other from now on. Why did that sound pleasant to her? She was but a mere human now, but spending the rest of her time with him, with the others, it was a...nice feeling. Then, he leaned forward, as if to place his forehead once again against hers. She winced slightly instead, when lips were placed upon her forehead. It was a rather odd face to make as her eyes had closed almost as if to flinch. When she opened her eyes, he had a smile and offered his hand to her. It felt as if the pieces that were missing inside of her were finally being filled.

"From now and forever," she replied as she slipped her hand into his. The walk to her dormitory had been pleasant, despite the nights occurrences, and she found the solace she had been searching for. When they bid each other goodbye, Yukiko went straight for her room and immediately cleansed herself of the dirt and blood from her body. Once she was satisfied, she laid in her bed, her crimson eyes staring up at the ceiling in the process. This night had revealed much to her and as such, she couldn't sleep. Eventually, the lullaby of slumber consumed her and she slept with a dreamless night.

The next day came all to quickly for Yukiko's comfort. Because of the lack of sleep, she was still very tired, however; she felt in better spirits. She had managed to keep herself from making a snide remark to a few of the students and she participated in a group project. It was awkward, but somehow she managed to pull through it. Yamato had visited her during a class break and had given her some insight as to what her father had told her that day. It was odd, but if the words Kaiya had spoken, and her father, then returning to her heritage was still possible. The matter of how had yet to be discovered and it was a bit frustrating. She knew the process, her father had tried it multiple times. She had to be bitten by a pure-blood and then offered their blood to break the barrier placed upon their vampire side. Only then would she be able to return. But it never worked. No matter who bit her, no matter who's blood she had, she always remained as a human.

"This is frustrating," she stated as she stirred her food. It was time for lunch and as such she had made her own. She made a few more boxes, but she couldn't eat them all. She was going to offer Serafine one, but she hadn't seen the female prefect since last night. She was worried slightly but knew the girl would be fine. She was as strong as any one, both emotionally and physically, if she were to say so herself, and Yukiko never much thought of it. So, she had a few boxes of lunch laid about her as she stared at them. Perhaps Yamato would join her soon again and he could take one off of her hands, or she might run into Serafine during her patrol. After all, she didn't need four boxes of lunch. No matter, she could always leave them with someone else. Not that she really cared who ate it, just as long as it didn't go to waste. Yukiko prided herself in being able to cook. She didn't want it to go to waste.

The sun was just starting to rise above the horizon, the dark sky morphing into what appeared to be a art frame, colors mushing together beautifully. Four people stood alone on the edge of a large hill, two of them glaring at each other while the other two took in the stunning sight before them. "The sun isn't even up yet! How can this be counted as morning?" Takeshi and Koji ignored Ishi, through Dai was pretty much waiting for the chance to yell at the other man. "Cant you shut up? Even your breathing is annoying me!" Koji visably deflated as the perfect moment of peace was ruined, while Takeshi rolled his eyes. He should have just brought Kojo and left the other two at the base. As soon as Takeshi sent a letter to the Headmaster, he came up with a backup story for all of them. Dai and Koji would be posing as siblings and family friends to Ishi and Takeshi, who would be posing as cousins. they had all been sent to the Academy by their parents(except for Takeshi who lad been living with Ishi's family after his family's death)it was a good story to tell the Day Class, who would be the one's to ask most the questions, but for the most part they would keep to themselves.

Takeshi was the leader of this mission, and he didn't want anyone messing this up. "How long will it take us to arrive?" Takeshi turned towards the man with fire red hair and shrugged lightly. "We'll be there by lunch time." He replied cooly. Onyx had stayed up all night, he couldn't be bothered by sleep, after he had cleaned up and packed, he spent the rest of the night studying maps and blue prints of the Academy and the ground's around it, he also studied the history of the towns near it and the over all history of the Academy. He had came up with every possible escape route that could be taken in case of an emergency, he had found nearly every area that would be perfect for a four man ambush, and every possible place he could stash the Day Class if the academy was under attack and they needed somewhere safe the reside.

He planned to meet the Night Class on the first night and find volunteers that would be willing the guard the humans in case of an attack, and by doing so he would be able to keep tabs on them all. If things went as planned, he would be as ready for an attack as he was ready to kill the man that had killed his family. "Let's make haste. I don't want to be late." Two sighs were heard, and ignored, and then at the same time, all four of them shot down, over the hill side and into the forest below. All of them kicked off of tree branches and onto the next and closest branch. This was the fastest method of travel when it came to their little team, it required a lot of stealth and speed, but if the large boulder of a man named Koji could do it, anyone could. "These Uniforms are scratchy." Came a slightly winded voice, making Takeshi smile bitterly. It was true, the uniforms had arrived two hours ago from the headmaster and were now being worn under their travel cloaks, they were scratchy and Takeshi's was a little too tight, but somehow the man had known their sizes. It was actually a little weird, but he didn't bother questioning it. "They just need to be washed. Put up with it for now." He replied easily, jumping off of a branch, doing a small flip in the air, and then landing on another branch and jumping from it once more.

They traveled like this for a good half of the time until the sun was high into the sky, only having to stop twice so Ishi could soak in a lake for twenty minuets and the rest of them could get something to eat. It took quite some time, but as planned, they arrived right around lunch time. Takeshi landed on solid ground first, through he was soon followed by Dai and Ishi, Koji being a bit slower arrived nearly three seconds later than the others. "We'll go straight to the Headmaster, don't become bothered with the Day Class. Ignore them." He looked pointedly at Dai and Ishi before starting up the many stairs and towards the main gates. As soon as they neared the gates, they swung open, revealing a very busy looking school. It appeared they had arrived a few minuets after lunch had started. The day class paused and stared at them as the passed by, most likely confused by the traveling cloaks that they wore, and even more confused with the uniforms they wore. "Who are they?" One of the girl's whispered to her friend, staring with wide eyes. "I don't know but I heard something about new students..." Takeshi blocked out the gossip. There was no point in dwelling on what the humans thought. Instead of sticking around to hear the rumors that would be spread, he led his three team mates straight to the Headmaster's office. He was actually rather glad he had studied those blue prints, since the school had been changed and re-designed since he had been here as a child.

"This is frustrating," Takeshi stopped short and turned slightly. Yukiko sat a few feet away from him, staring at what seemed to be four lunch boxes in front of her. One of his eye brows rose ever so slightly before he carefully approached the girl. He hadn't expected to run into any of them so soon. "Good evening Miss. Daitokuji," He calmly stopped a foot away from the seemingly human girl, the others hovering behind him uncertainty, through Koji now had a bird sitting on his head as a ogled the boxes of food in front of the girl. Takeshi bowed ever so slightly in a respectful manner before returning to his full height. "Have you by any chance, seen Miss. Nightless?" He offered a small smile as Ishi slowly came closer, his purple eyes narrowing ever so slightly at the girl before she offered a sharp toothed grin, which resulted in him getting smacked by Dai. Koji was also inching closer, through his eyes were set on the food, he hadn't eaten at all during the long trip the the Academy, and he could smell the perfectly cooked food within the containers.

"I have many wishes for you but, you're not here anymore. So, I'll put it all into this paper crane and send it to the skies hoping it will reach you."

The Headmaster was kind enough to allow her to be excused for her classes for today. At the same time, the Headmaster was also the one who arranged everything. Even then, she still wanted to be here personally. There was still something she must do. So, here she was now before a newly-made tombstone. Actually, it was the only one. It was erected on top of a hill overlooking the entire town where Cross Academy was situated in. In short, it had a spectacular view. Laying a hand against the cold and smooth marble stone, she traced the engraved writings on it with such delicateness.

"Here lies, Watoshi Saken, A Good Man, A Great Friend, A Life Taken Too Early."

Sunset eyes held a great amount of sadness. It was also obvious that she had been crying as the corner of her eyes are reddened. The funeral was simple and nothing grand. She finds it a bit sad. The only ones who attended were her and the Headmaster. She knew that Saken did not have any family left. But, she hopefully believes it will be enough for him to have at least two people who will always remember him no matter what. "Watch over all of us from here, okay?" She stated with such a heartbreaking tone. But, there was a small smile on her lips. She was trying her best to pull herself together.

It was a good thing the Headmaster had already went ahead to return to the Academy. She said that she wanted to stay a bit longer and this was respected. "Hey, I created a paper crane just the way you taught me." She pulled her hand from the stone and revealed from her pockets a orange paper crane. The awkward and funny moments they had as Saken lectured her how to make such paper art. "You said if I make a thousand of these, I can have a wish come true." She paused for a while and looked at her sole creation and shook her head in dismay. It was not really her talent to make such fragile artworks unlike Saken can.

"But, I can only make one plus, I have a thousand wishes for you." She took a deep breath and then looked at the skies which were slowly changing into a golden-orange hue. Having a small smile on her lips, she raised her hand which held the paper crane and then released it into as a passing wind propelled it in upwards. "So, I'll just send this one to you with all my wishes." She looked at the paper crane floating away from her line of sight and somehow, she felt a sense of peace. Closing her eyes, she allowed herself to be at ease with her surroundings. She was only disturbed when something was rubbing on her leg.

"Oh, sorry about that little Saken." She gently spoke as she picked up the puppy and cradled it into her arms. Sera had brought it with her. It was ironic in a way. She remembered telling Saken that she wanted a familiar and will named it Saken as well. It was just a means of fun. But now, she has a dog with the name of Saken. The puppy nuzzled at her neck as she gently smiled at this and looked at the tombstone once more. "This is goodbye for now, Sakkun." She paused for a while waiting for an annoyed Saken to reprimand her from calling him that nickname. But, there was no response and that was normal isn't it...? "Let's meet again, someday."

Taking a deep breath, she waved the tombstone goodbye. She then took her leave. Without her knowledge, an illusion or may be a trick of the mind stood behind the tombstone. It was Saken who watched her leave with a small yet gentle smile before finally disappearing. As for Sera, it was another day for her and also she still has her duty as a prefect to observe. But, she was informed by the Headmaster that there will be new transfer students and one of them would be a new prefect to be her partner. Somehow, she felt irritated by that. Was it that easy for them to replace Saken? But, it was normal to do so. They cannot compromise the security due to sentimental reasons even more so now.

"Saken..." The said puppy looked at Sera to confirm he had heard her. She looked at the puppy in her arms and had a thoughtful expression. The Headmaster also informed her that these new students were from the Hunter Association. In short, her father sent them. Somehow, she was a bit iffy on that. "I wonder if I will get along with my new partner. But hey, I'm a lovable person, right?" Saken, the puppy, tilted its head for a minute before barking in agreement with its tail wagging happily. She smiled brightly at this as she returned to Cross Academy.

Once she was back, Sera secured Saken to make sure the puppy will not be able to wander around without her knowledge. Then, she changed into her Day Class Uniform and placing the white armband denoting her status as Prefect. Securing Apollo in her leg holster, she then exited her room. She was just right on time as the bell rang. It was time for the exchange between the two classes. She was not sure if the new transfer students had arrived but she will know soon enough once she is done by securing the screaming fans of the most wanted celebrities of Cross Academy. Yes, it was another busy day as she made her way to the junction where the Moon Dormitory's gate will soon open. "Here we go into the fray!"

"Deep inside of me, there is a box with the strongest locks. I know not what it contains but, slowly these locks disappear and somehow, I feel it will release all of my darkest secrets."

"Are you afraid for me?" It was a sweet and gentle tone. A girl's voice without doubt. The question was filled with genuine curiosity. It seemed she was bothered by the expression of the man in front of her. "Very much. You don't have to do this." She smiled comfortingly at him and placed her hands on his cheeks gently. His concerns are not unfounded. She understood the risks she will be taking in this plan. But, she believed this is why she existed in the first place. It was to protect this man with such beautiful blue eyes and matching blue hair like the clear sky. Now, this man was looking at her with such ardor and worry. She kissed his forehead and offered an assuring smile. "Don't be. It is why we have the same face."

"What do you mean you can't find her?" His voice was heightened to a great degree of disbelief and paranoia. If anything happened to her, he will never forgive himself. Moreover, he might just let himself fall into the darkness like that. She was his light. "The carriage was attacked en route. We can't find any survivors." He felt his knees gave way. Fortunately, he was able to grab hold on to the nearby curtains to steady himself. The servants that were there rushed to his side knowing his distress. "Did you find her body? Tell me!" He immediately latched on to a nearby soldier as he grabbed the man by the collar. The soldier was shocked and shook his head as an answer. There was still hope.

"Your Highness." He looked away from his reflection as he cast his eyes on the servant who entered his room. Seeing he was listening, the servant continued on. "She's here." Hearing that, those blue eyes darkened much like the stormy seas. The servant noticed this and stepped back. Never once did he saw the Highness show such obvious anger. "I'll be right there." The servant bowed and quickly left the room to give the Highness back his privacy. Once the doors were closed, he looked at the mirror once more and touched the glass. Sadness reflected in his face and eyes as clear as day. "I'll avenge you. I promise."

His eyes were suddenly covered by a pair of hands which he held with a smile on his face. "What are you doing?" There was a light giggle before the answer was given to him. "A surprise." He gently removed the hands obstructing his sight and was welcomed with a chaste kiss on the lips. This made him lightly blush but then gentle caressed the face of the woman he so loves. "I don't want to lose you." She held the hand which was touching her face into hers. His fears were normal and she was experiencing the same thing too. So, she cannot blame him for feeling that way. "Me too. But, you see... We will always be together. I know this is true."

And then, the bell rang. This was enough to wake Khalid from his slumber. Those blue eyes opened to see the setting lights of the sun peeking through his curtains. Somehow, he felt a bit tired. Well, a lot had happened yesterday. Perhaps, that was the reason why he was feeling a bit drained. Yet somehow, he hardly thinks this was really the reason. He could feel his head aching a bit. However, he could not remember anything since he had slept and now woken. Releasing a sigh, he decided to just let it pass once more. There was no reason for him to linger on a matter where he does not even understand or recall anymore.

Standing from his bed, he stretched his limbs as Orpei landed on his shoulder. "Good morning, Master! Did you have a bad dream?" He looked at his pink familiar who was studying his appearance. He offered Orpei a small smile and then looked at the curtains before him. "Good morning, Orpei. I don't know. I don't think I had a dream." He noted before he looked at Orpei once more. Patting the pink familiar's head gently, he was telling the truth. He does not remember having a dream. So, he would just let it be. "I need to prepare for the day then." With that said, he finally started to prepare himself for his classes.

As usual, he would take his meal of tomato juice before departing the dormitory. After all, he was still not able to take the blood pills like others of his kind. He was not certain what causes the rejection but, he intended to keep it a secret for now. As for his supply of blood, he had contemplated of rejecting Keilani's offer of blood. He did not want to keep his sister's hope up more than he had already done so. Then, there was his hunger needed to be kept in check. He did not want to reach a point where he would have to bite someone and regret the consequences. Instinctively, he touched his throat. Orpei noticed this and flew in front of him.

"Master?" Khalid met those big ruby eyes of Orpei and then slowly removed his hand from his throat. "Don't worry, Orpei. I'm fine." The pink furball had a doubtful look but the pure-blood gave him an assuring smile and handed the familiar a small piece of candy which Orpei happily took. He smiled at this before releasing a deep breath and opening the doors to his room. It was time for him to go. Speaking of which, he was looking forward to it. He wanted to see Daitokuji again. He wondered if that was because they were friends. Perhaps, it was so. With that in mind, Orpei landed happily on his shoulder as he lead the night class out to the of Moon Dormitory facing another day once more.

"For so long it felt as if I were falling. Now, there is a hand that is grasping mine and pulling me back up. It's...nice."

"No," was the fast and curt response she gave to the Hiiragi boy in front of her. She had heard his inquiry of the female prefect, but she knew not where the girl was. If she did, she wouldn't be here with this irritated feeling of having four filled lunch boxes. "Back off," she stated in a monotonous tone towards the white-haired male who had inched closer to her. She hadn't missed the sharp-toothed grin before the girl with bright red (or was it pink?) hair smacked the boy. She offered the white-haired male a glare before turning towards the male with orange hair. Before she could offer the same warning, a small bird landed upon his head. She blinked a few times, recognizing immediately who it was.

"Aiko-chan! Don't be like that, they are hungry! Share your food with them!" Bibi chirped happily, earning a frown from the girl as she glanced at the group. There were four of them, and there were four lunch boxes just sitting there. Her pride would win this battle. She didn't want them to go to waste, and now that there was an opportune moment to get rid of them, she might as well do so. She sighed, picking up the four boxes before handing them to the four people, including the Hiiragi male. She then provided a good amount of distance between herself and the group before tilting her head slightly. Bibi removed herself from the orange-haired male and made a comfortable nest within Yukiko's white strands. The ringing of the bell signaled the end of lunch, and as such, Yukiko turned to stare at the four.

"Class is starting, it'd be wise to head to wherever it is you need to be," she stated as she turned to leave the group. Casting one last glance at the four, she disappeared into the crowd of people as she made her way towards her class. For the remainder of the day, Yukiko remained lost in thought. She still couldn't get the words out of her head. Those words that her father had spoken. Even though they were spoken in such a riddled form, the words still plagued her. To return that which hath been taken, one must fulfill a desire. In blood, the final price is paid.. It made no sense to her. She had asked Yamato about it, but even the pure-blood, as old as he was, had no clue as to what it meant.

It plagued her. As a human, she had felt powerless, and even more so when Sakken was killed. If she had been a pure-blood, she would have been able to subject those lower than her to her control. She would have been able to save Sakken, prevent the sadness that poured into Serafine. She could have done something. She didn't wish to become a vampire because of the lure it had, but because she would be able to become stronger to protect her friends. She had never desired such a thing before, the ability to protect something, someone. She could feel her heart-beat rise at the thought. For so long it was just her. Then, Yamato showed up. Slowly, he had become a part of her grey world, providing a splash of color into it. Then, Serafine and Sakken were introduced, creating another splash. But his wasn't a splash. It was a wave of colors that had infected her world.

A ghost of a smile appeared on her lips as she thought of it. This new feeling, the ability to smile so easily, she was growing used to it. It was a nice sensation and she had enjoyed it. Some part of her truly had Kaiya to thank for that. Although she'd rather die a thousand deaths than to admit it, but because of her, she had these people in her life. And because of them, these foreign feelings that were becoming soothing to her were now apart of her. The sound of the bell snapped her out of her thoughts as she turned to glance out the window. She hadn't realized that the time had now passed and it was time for the passing of the classes. This brought a small smile to her lips. She could go greet him before she had to return to her dorms. As such, she was the last one out of the classroom. She trailed behind the Day Class students as they all spoke animatedly about the Night Class.

She glared at a few of the students when they mentioned the words Prince, Sky, or even his factual name of Khalid. That same sensation, the one she had felt when he had mentioned his sister, seemed to run through her system. She would have to do something about that. Jealousy, she did not want it to be apart of her. It was a useless feeling to her and one that should not have the time or day to be apart of her. But still, she couldn't help the slight tugging of her heart when they mentioned anything about him. It wasn't long when they reached the bridge that provided the divide between Night Class and the Day Class. She would have liked to wait for the one she had come to see peacefully, however; those thoughts were null and void when a pair of arms encircled her form, and the familiar voice echoed through her ears.

"My beloved cousin," a voice like silk purred into her ears. The voice belonged to one person, and only one person. She turned in his embrace and crimson met crimson. It was her cousin, Zinan, the one her father's sister tried to wed her to. Although she had no feelings for her cousin, he was one of the only people she had truly ever trusted and loved. With him, she felt like she could let her guard down, tell him anything and everything. He had become a beacon of sorts for her, and as such, the faint smile that had once been on her lips was now a bright and radius one. She returned his embrace, forgetting momentarily where she was and who she was waiting for.

"No," Takeshi nodded in understanding and was about to turn around and walk away, when "Back off," Takeshi ignored his comrades and they gazed at the white haired girl, Koji stepping closer towards the table and smiling down at the food, but then a small bird landed upon his head, making him pause and try to look up. It was true when someone mentioned that animals loved Koji, but it was a bit strange for a bird to land on his head here of all placed. "Aiko-chan! Don't be like that, they are hungry! Share your food with them!" Koji's face paled as his eyes widened, clearly not used to talking birds landing on his head, while Dai nearly fainted and Ishi grinned at the bird, looking at Bibi like he was planning on eating the poor creature. Takeshi stayed emotionless while gazing at the animal before turning back towards the human girl, who was now shoving a box of food into his hands. Koji instantly sat down and set to work eating the food, all worries of talking animals long forgotten, and Dai and Ishi quickly followed suit. Takeshi took with the box in his hands staring at it as if it were about to blow up.

"Class is starting, it'd be wise to head to wherever it is you need to be," Takeshi paused for a second, before nodding and mumbling a small thanks. After the white haired girl was out of sight he handed his own box of food to Koji, who looked up in confusion. "I'm not hungry," was the only answer the red haired male received before Takeshi started to walk away. "I'll go talk with the Heamdaster, stay here until I return, don't speak to anyone." He called over his shoulder right before turning a corner. It didn't take very long for him to find the Headmaster's office and get the details required for all of them. As suspected, Takeshi was asked to fill in as the other Prefect, and as expected, he agreed. However, what he hadn't expected, was to start tonight.

It was a annoying thought that left a bitter taste in the back of his throat, after the long travel and lack of rest he was expected to start learning about his new job tonight. Now that was trouble some, but he said nothing on the matter, instead he agreed, took the Prefect arm badge, and went on his way. After showing Dai and Koji to their new dorms, he dropped off his bag and travel cloak in his own dorm before slipping on the band to the sleeve of his new uniform and walking with Ishi to the Moon Dorms. He was supposed to find Nightless and have her show him how to do his job, through he already knew how, he wasn't complaining. This was the mission. Protect the Academy, Protect Nightless. If he could hit both birds with one stone, there was no point in complaining.

"What is this feeling? It's like something is twisting my heart. But, I think it's a terrible feeling. Because, I don't want to see you smiling like for another."

Everything was the usual. Despite the event which happened last night, the night class was still present and rather completely calm. Well, it would be expected. Because, he has a feeling they were trying their best to let him feel at ease. After all, this was yet again the plot of Tsukumo. The girl who had declared she wanted him. It was also the main reason he had decided not too long ago to leave the academy for everyone safety. However, he was dissuaded by them from leaving. So here he was, he stayed. But, it does not mean he was not feeling guilty from what occurred at the ball.

Due to their efforts, Khalid presented himself normally as possible to them. For in the end, he did not want them to worry. Walking along the pathway, he casually converse with the students around him. Orpei was happily munching his sweet treats and did not mind them gathering around his Master as long as they retained their distance. Because in the end, Orpei was still jealous of anyone getting close to the blue pure-blood. They could hear the shouts and yells of the day class students for them. This was also a normal routine which was something that Khalid was still unsure why such things happen.

Once the gates opened, Khalid could hear various nicknames which the day class students had created for him. He never knew where they gathered such titles for him. In his honest opinion, he does not need them. Some of his fellow vampires encircled to ensure that no one would easily get close to him. As for him, he simply smiled at the people calling for him. It was the least he could. Although, his eyes searched the crowd for one certain individual. He was looking for a white-hair among the throngs of people. In the end, he wanted to see Daitokuji.

However, his attention was taken when he heard Nightless' entrance. Khalid looked at her and then softly smiled. It seemed she was energetic and lively. She was truly a strong individual and for that he admires her very much. The prefect was able to smile so freely and as if unhindered. How he wished, Nightless will not suffer from such a tragedy ever again. It was then, he followed the female prefect's line of sight. There Khalid finally found the white-haired girl he wanted to see. He wanted to call for Daitokuji but, he felt something stopped him from speaking any further.

Daitokuji embraced a man who seemed to reflect the same white hair and crimson eyes. They might be related and he wanted to end that thought there. However, he cannot help those blue eyes of him to carry a certain sadness in them. Why did he felt sad instead of feeling happy for her? She was the kind who was always distant and disliked being in the crowd. However, here she was engaging with another. So, he should be happy. Yet, he cannot help but feel a bit torn with these emotions completely new to him. In the end, he removed his eyes from Daitokuji.

He noticed the presence of the man who helped them at the ball. It seemed Nightless was conversing with the man. Due to his politeness, he approached the two and offered a smile. "Good day, Nightless-san and Hiiragi-san." Looking at the male's attire, he looked at Hiiragi with curiosity. It would appear this man will be attending Cross Academy as well. It was not a bad thing. He was just surprised yet, it was normal to be. "I see you are now a student here. I hope you enjoy your stay here." Khalid stated while Orpei narrowed his eyes at Hiiragi and his companion. The pure-blood noticed this and smiled apologetically. "Let me introduce to you my familiar, Orpei."

The pink furball simply gave a firm nod and was still wary of the two. Khalid shook his head at this and found himself glancing to the direction of Daitokuji. She seemed to engross with the man she was with. Removing his eyes on that scene, he smiled at Nightless, Hiiragi, and another new student wearing the Night Class uniform. "I won't take much of your time. See you all later." With that said, he went on his way as the rest followed suit. Khalid felt something painful in his chest. Somehow, it was connected to Daitokuji. For now, it would be good for him to keep a good distance until, he knows what this feeling is. In the end, he cannot help but to think of negative things and Daitokuji did not deserve that above all.

"If I can help you understand this, would it finally explain these foreign feelings?"

Yukiko stood, holding her cousin in a soft embrace before finally pulling back. She glanced up to his face as a warm smile littered his lips. The thing that caught her attention the most was the white uniform he was adorned in. He, was a part of the Night Class now? When had that happened? She didn't even receive word from her family that someone was coming to the Academy. But why him? She continued to stare at him, confusion written all over her face in the process. He chuckled lightly as he placed a loose strand of her hair behind her ear. Before more words could be exchanged, Yukiko felt eyes on her, and she was brought back to reality. She glanced towards the side and noticed that a majority of the Night Class had already left towards the Main Building. A frown marred her face, something that did not go unnoticed by Zinan. He placed a comforting hand on her shoulder as she turned to stare at him.

"He's not there," were the only words out of Yukiko's mouth. She felt a sharp pain pass through her heart at that thought. She had thought he would wait for her, or at least greet her. So where was he? Did something happen to him? She felt a fear creep up within her being, something that did not pass Zinan as he watched his cousin's expressions. Whoever this he was, he was important to his cousin. This caused a sad smile to linger on his lips. So she had finally found someone important. He was glad, but upset at the same time since this person was causing such distress for her. "Khalid... you jerk," she muttered as she turned to walk away.

Zinan reached out for his cousin, but the look she shot him caused him to stop. She clenched her fists together, and he swore he saw something sparkling at the corner of her eyes. Even if she wasn't aware of it, he knew. He took a deep breath as she disappeared from his sights. Whoever this Khalid person was, he must truly be something to his cousin to cause such a reaction from her. He smiled softly before straightening out his posture and continued behind the rest of the Night Class. He wanted a word with his cousin, but now was not the best of times. She had some things to sort out and he was going to give her that space. Instead, he made his way inside the building and sat with the others of his race. His being here, it was no accident. After news had reached him about what had transpired a few nights ago, he had requested to attend immediately.

There was something oddly familiar about the whole ordeal. And then the mysterious woman named Kaiya, he had heard that name before, but he couldn't exactly recall where. His thoughts were interrupted when a mop of blue hair stood out. He blinked a few times as it finally registered who this person was. He almost wanted to laugh. The person who was dear to his cousin had been none other than that Khalid: the Tamesis child of the forbidden twins. In some way, he wanted to laugh at such a thing. Of all people, she had deemed him to be the one most important to her. He wondered how the pure-blood would take it if he realized just how important he was to Yukiko. After all, there were a lot of vampires trying to appease the twins and present them with suitable daughters for the young King.

He knew Yukiko, very well though. He knew that she was unsure of the emotions that lingered in her being. It was something he had grown fond of himself. She had always spoke the truth, held herself above anyone else who tried to break her. He had relied on her to be his pillar more times than he could count, and it was why he was willing to do anything for her. She wasn't aware of the feeling of what he knew all too well of. As such, he would try and help his cousin sort it out. But first thing was first. He approached the blue-haired pure-blood and smiled at him.

"You must be the Tamesis pure-blood, Khalid," he stated, the smile still lingering on his face as he did so. "I am Zinan Daitokuji, Yukiko's cousin," he continued, offering a light bow in respect to the pure-blood. He studied the boy's face, trying to read the expressions but was unable to do so. He cleared his throat as he spoke once more. "She was upset that you were not at the gates and did not greet her. She might not know it, but you are very important to her, so do be careful. She is very easily broken when she cares enough about something, let alone someone."

Yukiko kept her eyes glued to the ground as she walked, ignoring everything around her. Her heart was beating painfully against her chest. It felt as if there was an object trying to burst it's way through her and she couldn't prevent it. Her brows furrowed in annoyance, her eyes finally taking in the scenery. She had found herself away from the Academy and into the woods. The scenery was nothing grand, just simple tree's and the occasional stump. Clutching her chest, Yukiko tried to steady the rapid beating. Why had it hurt so much to not see the one she wanted to? He had spoken to her that they would have each other from now on, that they'd be able to see each other whenever they wanted to. Somehow, those words had brought a sense of comfort and warmth that she couldn't explain.

But now, it seemed as if it were just a lie. And it hurt. It hurt so much that she fell to her knee's, hand still clutching the front of her shirt as she could feel the warm liquid falling down her face. It was why she never wanted friends. It was why she never wanted to get close to someone, because in the end, whatever it was that they spoke, it would be nothing but lies. People would lie just for their own selfish purposes, and she had sworn to never let someone chain her like that. But then, how had he done so easily to her? How had he become someone whom she wanted to cherish, to see, to hear, to desire to protect? Her first meeting with him, she had told him his bangs were irritating and that was the beginning. He had created such a splash of color in her black and white world, that it was slowly suffocating her.

She didn't know how to respond to such a thing. This feeling was something she had never felt before, and she was afraid of it. Afraid of it because she was enjoying what it was doing to her. She had never felt such joy from such foreign emotions, and there was a time she had thought that she wouldn't be capable of such. "Why does it hurt so much," she whispered to herself. Too engrossed in her thoughts, she did not notice the soft crunch of the grass caving beneath someone's feet. A hand laid itself on her shoulder before lifting her up gently. Crimson met emerald and Yamato could only smile softly. Bibi had told him of the newcomer and the events that had transpired after he had crossed the bridge with the rest of the class. He had overheard the words of her cousin to Khalid, and as such he had left to find his Aiko. He knew of what the Daitokuji pure-blood was speaking of.

"It is because you love him," he responded to her question, causing her eyes to widen in surprise.
