"It hurts, this feeling in my chest being so far, and yet so close to you. Then why suffer for it if it can save you?"

Bibi had heard the words the blue pure-blood had spoken and had nodded as she landed on the ground. Her master had yet to call her and so she waited for him. Seconds turned to minutes and so forth. She frowned as she huffed her beak as best as she could. This wouldn't do. If Yukiko was in trouble, then it was up to Bibi to help. She didn't know if the Tamesis pure-blood would be able to do anything against the other vampire who had bitten Yukiko and she wanted to be there to help in case she was needed. She might have just been a familiar with no particular power, but she still wanted to help. When Bibi finally managed to locate Yukiko and the blue-haired boy, the sight was something she wasn't expecting. Yukiko had been hugging the boy before she shoved him away. As she got closer to the two, she heard the dialogue that had been shared and felt her heart drop. There could be another way to keep her friends safe. She just had to open her eyes and see it. She heard the words the pureblood spoke and it caused Bibi to feel even more sorrow.

"Tamesis-sama! You can't give up on Aiko-chan! She...she needs help. She's not used to these kinds of things," Bibi stated as she landed near the blue-haired vampire. She stared up at him, her beady black eyes shaking almost as if she wanted to cry. "So don't say goodbye yet!" she nearly shouted as loud as a small bird could. After that, she flew off to find the snow-white haired girl. She needed to give the girl a stern lecture. Nothing, no matter what, should ever cause her to push her friends away. If anything, it should make her want to be near them more just so they can be near her. What was Yukiko thinking when she did and said those words?

Yukiko only did what she thought was truly the right thing to do. So, why was this ache in her heart causing her so much misery? She couldn't risk exposing her bonds to anyone unless she had a death wish for them. And she couldn't handle that thought. Never in her life would she have thought there would be someone out in this crazy life of hers that she wanted to much to protect. She didn't mean to push the blue-haired vampire away as she did. It was the first reaction that came to her mind, to convey what she was feeling and to assert what she had said. She didn't want to lose anyone else and she wouldn't lose anyone else. Even if it meant spending the rest of her life alone without anyone, she would do her best to keep them safe.

She sighed in frustration, running a hand through her snow locks as she brought them forward. His fingers, she could still feel them tangling in her hair. The gesture, his bangs, his face, she could feel a great heaviness settling in the pit of her stomach. Had she truly did the right thing? Pushing the pure-blood away and severing the ties she was forming with the others? Of course, it had to be. If Kaiya knew about her bond with her father, and she had used that against her, then Kaiya wouldn't have any problem with using any of her friends against her. And that was something that Yukiko found out she feared. She feared something, and that was losing her friends. Loss, pain, these feelings she never wanted to feel again. Yamato, how would he take it? She knew he wouldn't give up and he would still try to find a way to still be by her side. The pure-blood was too stubborn for his own good sometimes. That just meant Yukiko would have to do something drastic to get him to leave her. But what?

"Aiko-chan!" Bibi's voice pierced through the veil of a cloud as Yukiko turned to the small familiar. She reached out her hand, allowing the familiar to land as crimson met black. She could see that Bibi was upset about something, but Yukiko didn't know what it was. She attempted to stroke the bird, however; Bibi moved so that Yukiko couldn't soothe her. "How could you do that Aiko-chan!? You can't let them go!" she stated as she fluttered her wings. Yukiko frowned at those words. It appears the small bird overheard her conversation with Khalid. This only caused Yukiko's frown to deepen. Bibi did not understand, neither did Yukiko. It was something she chose to do. Even if it caused this insufferable feeling to rise in her chest, she had to do it.

"You wouldn't understand Bibi. I have no choice," she scolded the bird, placing her on a nearby branch as she did so. Bibi could slowly see the pain behind those crimson orbs of hers and the confusion. "And it would be wise if Inoue stays away as well. Keep him away from me Bibi. The same goes for you," and with that, Yukiko left. Bibi could only allow the soft tears to fall from her eyes as she did as Yukiko told her. She would leave her alone and she'd try to convince Inoue to do the same. This burden, it shouldn't have to be Yukiko's to carry alone.

Days passed since the incident with the Night Class and the incident with Yukiko's father. The snow-haired girl had once again kept herself closed from the world. Nothing anyone did or said could change that, not even the prefects. She avoided them like the plague, going to her classes only and swiftly to her dorm room once classes were over. She even hid during lunch to avoid the adamant pure-blood known as Yamato. It wasn't easy, but she managed, however; every day that she ignored them, the heavy feeling in her heart only grew. It had felt as if she couldn't breath, and she was suffocating a slow death. How could they have had such an affect on her like this? Was it because they had touched a black part of her grey world and turned it into something else?

"Attention all Students of Cross Academy. Tonight is the night you have all been waiting for! The Halloween's Eve Festival! We will be having costume contests ---" the voice shouted over the intercom. Yukiko merely drowned out the rest of the sound as she kept her thoughts on her current situation. Maybe, she'd try again. She didn't like this tight feeling in her chest when she was away from the ones who she had come to care for. She knew that now. No matter how small the bond had been, it seemed to have grown ten-fold over the last few days she was apart from them. With a heavy sigh, she stood from her hiding spot and made her way towards her dorm. She would attend the festivities and try to find Yamato, Serafine, Sakken, and Khalid. She would attempt to apologize to them. But she didn't know where to start.

She would find a beginning, one way or another. With that in mind, she skipped the rest of her classes to prepare for the night's festival. She didn't have a costume so she'd just have to make due with what she had. And there were plenty of things she could use, particularly that one kimono her father had given to her a long time ago. He had told her it was made the way it was so that she would be able to grow into it. Now, she could actually wear it. So, without further hesitation, she began to prepare for the night. Once she was finished, she made her way back to the academy, her presence eminating that of a ghost. Her face had been painted extremely white with red eye-shadow that highlighted her own crimson orbs more. The kimono was a great contrast to her pale skin with it's black colors and gold trimmings. Along the bottom of the kimono were golden spider webs.

"So Snow White is attending Cinderella's ball. How unlike you," an all too familiar voice rang out, and Yukiko narrowed her eyes at the one in front of her.

"Prays and hopes are meaningless if you don't do something on your own.
So why even bother believing in god?"

Her tongue is still very sharp. Well, with that, Saken could guess that she is - kind of - alright. He smiled back right at her and was just relieved. Who would have thought that she could still smile like that although she just fell unconcious? Whenever Saken was worried, she'd always has a way to prevent him and getting him up again. Very magical - still he was concerned. She couldn't just go away with a smile and jokes, though it amused him indeed. "Hey, you said by yourself that I should go ahead and sleep! You're contradicting yourself!" He defended himself with a grin. 'Beautiful dame' huh? As always, such confidence from herself - unbeatable really.

Kiss? Saken wondered about that. They would have kinda died before even trying kissing her. Thinking of that, Saken never saw her with any 'guys' who flirt with her. Or was he just missing those parts? Honestly, Saken would really like to see a guy beside Sera; a guy who isn't frightened with her, a guy who loved her presence. Though it's hard to imagine that, he could perfectly understand if someone likes her, however it was hard to match Sera. Not just her beauty, but also her familiar standards and her intelligence. But secretly, Saken knew that she would not end up alone - unlike him.

"Wh- what? You did what?" Flustered, he touched his head - finding out that his hair was unshaved and still as long as before. Relieved, he sighed. His long hair was a treasure. Even it made him look like a girl, even if it's damn hot in sommer and even though Saken was too lazy to even pin his hair up - he would still keep it as it is now. All because of his foolish believes regarding the past, as if he was still holding on it. No surprise he had that nightmare all over again. As he finished inspecting every inch of his head, he looked up to Sera. "Sera, don't joke around about that! I was seriously fooled just now. What would you do if I would shave your hair and make you look like a punk? That would be just... a nightmare!", he grumbled angry but relieved in the same time as then he noticed the changes of expression she had.

It was very untypical of her showing such concerned expressions. Was she seriously sick? She denied it though, with quite of a very convincing gesture. And although Saken coudn't really believe that statement very well, he felt that something else depressed her heart. Maybe... she had a nightmare like he did? A nightmare containing the things she feared at once - like his? He regretted soon asking: "What's up?" But she seem to have a question on her lips. A question, that way maybe the mole behind all of this happening to her. Then, as she raised her eyes, glancing at him, she finally asked the question - that Saken didn't understand at all.

Confused, he frowned and looked up to her, right into her eyes, asking himself the reason for that question. He had never heard of something like that - was it somekind of a joke perhaps? However, her eyes spoke a different point of view as a joke could never express. There was a deeper meaning behind her question - although Saken couldn't figure out what. As if she was giving him a riddle that she couldn't solve by herself. A riddle which solution is the answer of many questions. Whatever it was, Saken was speechless for a second, confused and just had no clue what to answer. "Em... Isn't that somekind of a tale for kids?" He then finally asked, still had that frown on his forehead. "... what does it have to do with you being unconscious? I can't find any connection..."

But those question had to remain unanswered. The prefects were needed again in the school yard that time, and as Sera couldn't leave the infirmary - well, Saken didn't let her leave the infirmary to be exact - Saken excused himself and followed the noises and finished his job as a prefect. Calming the crowd down as good as possible and scoleded them as he was quite annoyed that they were as loud as elementary kids.

Likewise, the days passed and Saken couldn't find a good time asking for the question that went through him at the time in that infirmary. They were just never left alone, Saken and Sera - both busy preparing everything for the helloween festival. But still not busy enough noticing that Yukiko was even more closed and unsocial than before, as if she doesn't want anything to do with the world anymore. Indeed, Saken wondered about her attitude, though he was quite incurious. She was someone Saken could never understand, although Saken indeed respected her for what she had said to the blue haired vampire to cheer him up. But it seems that she is still her after all. Not wanting to socialise at all.

"Attention all Students of Cross Academy. Tonight is the night you have all been waiting for! The Halloween's Eve Festival! We will be having costume contests ---"

"What, who had been waiting for what? It only means more work to do!", Saken complained silently as he was helping with the preperations. That was one of the duties of a prefect too - helping preperations for festivals. It was such a bother for Saken; he disliked festival like that. But more importantly... "Are you really able to help, Sera? Not feeling kind of sick anymore do you?" He then asked his fellow prefect watching her having the same destiny as him. "By the way, what are you going to wear in that festival?" It was a 'by the way' question - obvious that Saken was not really concerned about that. Sera would pass even without a costume, that's for sure.

The academy began to fill with many students, dressed up as one eyes creatures, witches... and vampires. How nostalgic - would those day class students even guessed that the 'celebrities' of the school are vampires - would they dress differently as now, with those ugly teeths and mouths, and that black long coat? It was amusing to see them - still not too amusing enough making Saken not yawning and rubbing his eyes, showing clear signs of tiredness. "I want to sleep..." He said as he spotted two white haired girls standing there, which grabbed his concern a bit. But there were so much people who weared fake white hair that Saken couldn't tell if he was really right with his thoughts. "Hey Sera... isn't that Yukiko? Or a random girl with wig again?"

"The most hallowed of all nights. Where the spirits of the dead can communicate and walked among the living. But, isn't that us?"

Saken was right it was just some whimsical fairy tale for the kids. It had an happy ending where the moral of the lesson was never to judge a person by appearance. But the tale her mother had told her many times, there was no ending at all. It was not even a tale filled with happy moments. The story was filled with sadness, tragedy, vengeance, and despair. There were definitely no rainbows and candies in that tale. Back then, she found the story bizarrely different and mysterious. But now, she finds it rather haunting and held more meaning than she had let on. There was more to it and she will find that out soon enough.

Anyway, they seemed to be needed on grounds once more. The transition between the Day and Night Class was about to start again. Well, she had no problems as of now and would be happy to get out of the infirmary. But, her partner had other plans. "I'm fine, you know." She stated in a rather nonchalant manner. Sometimes, she finds Saken's concerns annoying and needless. Her fainting was not related to her current health conditions. She was healthy and tough as nails. But then again, she was completely happy with him making a fuss about her. How contradicting she is. "Fine. I'll stay. But!" She noted with great energy and even raised a finger at it. Those sunset eyes gazed at Saken with seriousness.

There was silence building up tension before she spoke again. "You better not cheat on me!" That was all she said as she leaned close to him and whispered to his ear. "Those night class boys are mine." Before biting the lobe of his ear and then pulling away from him with a wink and the accompaniment of her giggle. There she was again up with her flirtatious and outright sexual innuendo. But, this was all for her fun. She then shooed Saken away from the infirmary as she laid on the bed and released a sigh. There were still a lot of things needed to be confirmed. The attack on the Night Class and then her dreams. Somehow, she cannot help but feel that there are some connections to it. Like that, she closed her eyes and just decided to sleep it away and so she did.

Days had passed and there was still no concrete lead on that Kaiya Tsukumo which she had found to be the name of that white-haired perp. Even the Association had no leads on who that girl really was. It frustrated her a bit but, there was something more that needed her attention. The Halloween Party! Oh, the joy! She loved and feared this event. It is because there would be tales about witches, hexes, curses and voodoo dolls. The main reason she joined the design committee even if she was prefect. But, she also hated this day as well. Because stories about ghosts will always be present. Frankly speaking, she is afraid of them. Of course, she never obliviously showed it and keeps it a secret.

Then, she noticed a changed in Daitokuji. The girl was more distant than ever. Well, it was not much of a concern. Sera believes that Yukiko can handle her own affairs. So, there was no need for her to intrude. The pure-blood turned human has a brain and a strong will. With that, the girl will just be fine. Plus, she knows well if the person does not need any kind of help both wanted or not. It was then Saken took her attention by asking if she was fine. Looking beside her, she had a slight pout. It was fine worryng about her. But, she was not some porcelain doll by all means. "I told you I'm fine. If you want proof, should I show you every inch of my body?" There was the dash of her usual sexual mischief which made the others helping out blush. Of course, this was a normal thing for Sera.

Anyway, Saken changed the topic about her costume for the event. Yes, it was nothing she does not like. Apparently as a member of the committee of this event, they were to dress all as ghosts. How really irritating. Actually, she wanted to strangle the chairman for this knucklehead of an idea. But, it was not worth it really. "Someone you would not want to haunt you." Sera answered with clear dejection and another pout which was rather adorable on her. It was another reason that the students around them were blushing really.

Well, the Halloween Party started and the students, both Day and Night class gathered in the grand hall. As for Sera, she dressed as a Japanese interpretation of a ghost. She wore a white thin kimono and the matching head accessory and white socks. Yes, that is all for her costume if one would even take notice the rather showing of her skin. Yes, there is cleavage. Well, it was still cleavage, right? Sera was not that concern about showing off her body. In which, she was having many male students looked at her with lecherous and admiration. As for the girls, they were downright envious.

She leaned at one of the settings in the hall. Actually, she fitted perfectly to the scenery behind her. Looking at the crowd, she was still vigilant knowing the possibility of something going wrong. She only looked away when she heard Saken approaching her. He seemed sleepy which made her smile. "Shall I tuck you to bed?" Of course, this was yet again a playful banter of hers. Hearing Saken's question, she looked to where he saw the two white-haired girl. Her eyes narrowed instantly as she straightened herself and reached for the holster strapped around her thigh. "Saken. Get ready. Things might get rough staring now."

"Time had always been at a standstill. The clock which had ran out of sand was once more being filled to the brim. All of this is due to meeting you whether it is for the good or bad, I want to know if it's worth it."

It was done. A huge smile was plastered on his lips as the project he had been assigned with was done. Moreover, it was finished just before the Halloween Party starts. Everyone from the Gardening Club was very astonished by his work which he had insisted to be done by himself. Well, it was not he did not want to be around people. It was just that he wanted some time alone especially with what happened regarding Daitokuji and then his sister. A time to think and contemplate would be the best. He also wanted to do something that would take off his attention from too much depression.

Although, the words that Inoue's familiar spoke to him at that time. About not to say goodbye. Not to give up. Daitokuji was not just used to it. Khalid knew there was basis for that. There is truth to that. However, he believed it would be for the best. Because, it was the same thing he was doing for quite some time. The trick to it, one must endure at all cost. Even if everything else about you is crumbling, you must still smile. You must never falter before that person. Never. So, he was bit grateful that the white-haired girl did keep his distance from him. Because he had inkling that he might not manage to stay away from her for the second time around. But, he does miss the times she would notice and be annoyed over his bangs.

Unconsciously, he reached for those two intertwined forelocks of his. There was a small yet sad smile on his lips. Yes, he definitely misses those times. He slowly removed his hand from his fringe and then looked at the completed garden project which was the Rose Archway. It would be wonderful if Keilani was here with him. His sister liked such things especially since she liked roses very much. But, the letter he had sent never gained a reply. Perhaps, she was still mad at him or finally gave up on him. Somehow, he was relieved and a bit sad if that was the case. In the end, he knew that there would be a more wonderful person fitting for her. More than he could ever be.

Thinking about, he had sent Orpei to fetch him some of his tomato juice. He was feeling a bit parched and hungry at the same time. It had become a bit more frequent ever since that day. Perhaps, he was just too concern about his relationship with the two girls than he can comprehend. Where could he be? "Good day, Tamesis-kun!" However, his thoughts were interrupted when a group of senior students wholly females from the Day Class approached him. They called out to him and he greeted them with a polite smile which even made them more brave for the request they were about to ask of the Prince. "Good day to you all. Is there anything I can help you with?" The girls looked at each other first with obvious shyness and then they all took one deep breath. The continuation would be at the Halloween Party itself.

So, the time had finally arrived. In all honesty, he was rather regretting the very fact he had agreed to this. However, they were very insistent with tears and that was his main weakness. He really does not like seeing girls cry. In the end, he was not able to say no. Taking a deep breath, he slapped both of his cheeks to prepare himself for what was about to happen once he enters the ballroom. "Master, I know that you have bad luck with girls but..." Those clear blue eyes looked at his familiar who was hovering beside him with a very amused expression. As for Khalid, he was narrowed his eyes in displeasure. "This is because you took too long." Orpei looked away and pretended not to hear anything. Actually, he got sidetracked along the way. There was this delicious sweet-smelling and there was no reason to explain anymore.

Shaking his head in disappointment, Khalid knew there was no other way for him but to face the music. He entered the grand hall and was mesmerized by the setting and props. It was really hauntingly beautiful. The committee outdone themselves wonderfully. Looking around the crowd, he could feel a few eyes on his form. They were trying to determine who he was exactly. Well, he cannot blame them at all. Because, he was not certain how it came to be like this. It would have been better to have dressed as zombie or even a vampire which from the looks of it was done by most of the night class. There were witches, ghouls, princes, knights, characters from horror movies and everything else.

But, Khalid had to be this. He had to be a... "Tamesis-kun!" That was the clincher. One of the girls who had asked of him for this favor had finally found him. Everyone who was rather uncertain of who he was now earlier had great surprise now upon their faces. It was not only limited to the day class but also to the night class. They cannot believe it. Actually, they were wondering if she was a special guest related to Khalid or the infamous sister which no one had yet to seen and met personally except for Inoue. Who would have though? The Prince had become a Princess. He wore a beautiful black tube ballgown with detached sleeves, It had beautiful silver embroidery and blue lace at its hem. The gown fitted him perfectly. His sky blue hair had been attached with very long extensions fashioned into twin-tails. She was a vision of beauty.

People began to gather around him as he felt very embarrassed with his cross-dressing. Orpei was no help at the moment. The familiar simply remained perched on his shoulder. Anyway from the corner of his eyes, he spied the two prefects. Nightless was wearing a white kimono resembling that of a Japanese ghost. Well, it definitely showed her hair and eyes very vibrantly. As for a ghost? She was rather a sexy vixen than anything else. Perhaps, she was a ghost of seductress or something. But, he would say this much. She was truly a beautiful sight to behold. However, he was more concerned with that sharp look. He followed the direction where Nightless was looking at and saw two white-haired females. His eyes widened recognizing who they were. Just like that, he excused himself and made way through the crowd.

"Daitokuji-san! Tsukumo-san!"

"I made a promise, one that I intend to keep, however; I know now that I made a mistake. They are my friends...and my life."

Time stood still for Yukiko as she glared at Kaiya. The silver-haired female sported a wide grin resembling that of the Cheshire cat. The very presence of this girl infuriated Yukiko as she clenched her fist tightly. Kaiya only tsked as she took a step towards Yukiko. A hand had laced itself underneath her chin as the silver-haired girl tilted her head to the side. It would appear that the two were having a staring contest before the silence was finally shattered.

"Did you enjoy my little gift?" Kaiya spoke. "I thought that the little family reunion would brighten your spirits, but it seems they have only dampened. Tell me? Did that fool tell you that it is hopeless?" she continued the grin turning into a bright smile. Although Kaiya knew what had taken place, she wanted to see the grief and disdain flashing before Yukiko's eyes, however; this only served to fuel the flame that was growing inside of Yukiko. The nerve of this girl to speak about her father that way. Yukiko wanted nothing more than to tear off that pretty little head of hers and cause her a slow, and painful death. The bane of her existence, the reason why her father was dead, was because of this girl before her. From the moment she met Kaiya, she already knew that the girl would be nothing but a thorn in her side.

"You have no right to speak of my father that way. Not with that filthy tongue of yours," were the first words to slip passed Yukiko's lips. Before another word could be said, the sound of someone calling out to the two caused Yukiko to momentarily take her eyes away from Kaiya. She spotted a rather peculiar site, and she had to stare at the girl that had called out to them. Kaiya, however, was un-amused by this sight and her eyes narrowed dangerously. Not only had her prince called out to them, but he called out Snow-white's name first. She couldn't have that. It would only be her name that escapes those lips of his, and no one else. "That fool was a pure-blood vampire, my father, my everything. Just as my friends are now, and I will protect them from you," she continued with such conviction that it caused Kaiya to frown slightly.

"You cannot protect them, not from me. Especially him," Kaiya nearly hissed out. This only further fueled the rage building inside of Yukiko. She clenched her fists tightly as she narrowed her eyes dangerously at the silver-haired girl. This Kaiya was truly testing Yukiko's patience as the two girls stayed their hand. "You will never possess him. He belongs to me. Give him to me, and this pathetic existence of a school will remain intact along with your life," she continued, glancing in the direction the blue-haired pure-blood was forcing his way through the crowd. Yukiko followed her gaze as they landed on Khalid. A frown marred her face in the process. This girl was adamant at taking Khalid. Why? He was just another pure-blood vampire, there were plenty more of them out in the world. What was so special about him? It didn't matter though, Yukiko promised him that she would protect him. He was her friend.

"No," were the simple words that left Yukiko's lips. Kaiya couldn't have him. "He is not an object you can possess. He does not belong to you, nor anyone else. He will never be yours. He is my friend, that is enough of a reason to deny you him," she continued. Kaiya merely scowled at the girl before her eyes glowed a soft crimson. An intense wind began to blow, as a fuchsia colored aura radiated from Kaiya. Yukiko did not waver as a blue light surrounded the silver-haired girl, the sound of something being chanted leaving the girl's lips.

"You should have given him to me. Now no one can have him," were the only words Kaiya spoke before vampires poured into the field. Some were hypnotized, others were falling into the dangerous level of madness, and they rushed the hall filled of unsuspecting humans. Kaiya disappeared in a swift motion as Yukiko's eyes widened.

"Khalid," she spoke as she rushed towards the blue-haired pure-blood. The Day Class students at first thought this as part of a play, however; when one of the mad vampires grabbed hold of a student, they all shouted in fear. But Yukiko didn't care, they were not her concern. The only ones that mattered was the one before her, Serafine, Sakken, and Yamato. Everyone else could perish for all she cared, however; a deep pain in her heart told her otherwise. At that moment, she was grateful for the kimono being the way it was made. She maneuvered through the vampires, dodging claws and fangs in the process. She needed to reach Khalid before the vampires did. She could see a vampire reaching for him, and this only further caused her to push herself. She barely made it in time as the vampire's claws tore into her forearm. Her eyes remained fixed onto the vampire as she removed his arm.

"Filthy hands do not deserve to touch what is apart of my life," Yukiko spoke as she twisted the vampire's arm. She kicked the vampire away from her as she grabbed at her forearm. She didn't care if her blood was spilling at the moment, only that her friend was safe. She turned to stare at the blue-haired vampire and offered him a frown. "A princess does not suit you at all," were the only words that left her lips. She tore off a piece of the bottom of her kimono and quickly attached it to her arm, securing it as a tourniquet to stop the blood from pouring out more. The screams, the shouts, everything was going into chaos. She needed to stop this madness...but how?

Twenty-Four Hours Eariler

A young man stood alone on a cliff side, rain pouring down harshly and soaking the clothes he wore. The only sound that filled the air around him was the blissful cry of rain slamming down into the earth like a million little tears drops falling a once. It was just a beautiful, heart wrenching sound. "You have a mission." The young man turned, the cloak that he was wearing blew back in the wind as he moved to face the older man. Both of their face's were hidden within the cloak's hoods, but it was clear the two knew each other. "I know." Silence filled the space between the two as they stared at one another, it stretched on for minuets until the older man broke it once more. "You should make haste, the worst is upon them." The young man turned back around and sighed. it was true, he was well aware of what was about to befall that little Academy that would be the breaking point for a war. "Indeed it is." He said calmly, and then, he allowed his body to fall over the cliff side and to the abyss below.

Chaos had erupted in an instant, humans running and screams, Mad Vampires running and growling, blood, death, gore, crys, screams, chaos. It was beautifully horrible, and it would make any with a weaker stomach sick, but Takeshi stood unfazed as he watched people die from all around he. He did not know any of the, he was searching for the targets that would require his protection, the people that were the only reason he had been hired in the first place. Onyx found them in a second, the white haired female and the blue haired Pure-Blood. It seemed the female was already injured, much to his displeasure, and the male wasn't looking too good either. He sighed and moved without blinking. Suddenly he stood in front of the pair, he was still covered by a damp cloak, making it clear he had recently been in some form of water. "Stand back for a moment, please." His voice cut through the screams and crys for help like a knife, and suddenly he was removing his cloak to reveal the young man under it.

With a jerk of his arm, he removed the cloak completely and threw it across the room and opening his eyes. The Onyx eyes swirled for a brief moment, the black mixing with a crimson red, and then they froze. The black had been replaced with glowing red and a few splotches of black. Half of the Mad Vampires that were near him turned abruptly as the strange Aura that filled the air around them all. Slowly the man raised his arm into the air until it was fully extended and then-

"Hell's fire." His voice was cold and cruel, and as if on cue, fire shot from each of his finger tips and latched onto a Vampire, burning their flesh and bringing fourth a unimaginable pain until they were immobilized and fell to the floor, most likely dead. Slowly he turned back towards the human and the Pure-Blood behind him, and bowed ever so slightly while placing a hand over his heart. "My name is Hiiragi Takeshi, second in command of the Hunter's Association, hired to exterminate the pest's that have dared to penetrate neutral grounds between the two worlds, at your service." He offered a small smile to the two, before rising back to his full height and turned back around, one of his hands traveling to the sword that was on his back, and with-drawing it. "I have also been hired to keep Khalid Zakai Tamesis, and Serafine Nightless safe." He pointed his sword towards a charging Mad Vampire, a small smirk marring his features before he glanced over his shoulder at the male and then towards the white haired girl. "If you inform me to protect others, I will do as you command." He spoke to the Pure-Blood, keeping eye-contact, as he drove his sword through a Mad-Vampire's heart, reducing the beast to dust in an instant.

Slowly the dark haired male crouched down, one hand holding his sword out, away from his body, while the other reached into his pocket, pulling out something small and red and popping it into his mouth and waiting for the small pill to take effect. He wouldn't be able to take care of these Mad Vampire's completely until it took effect and he could use his Ace. Until then, he would have to improvise, which surprisingly enough, was something he was good at. As long as he could keep his targets safe he didn't have much to worry about, well other than the fact that he only had one of the two under his protection at the moment, which meant the other one was still running around here somewhere.

"Why do the things that I hate always happen over and over again? Like always, I'm so helpless."

As to be expected, things did get rough. Rather, all hell broke loose within a few seconds. She immediately took out Apollo and willed it to extend to save some of the day class students from the mad vampires coming after them. In short, they were shish kebab. They screamed in pain as Apollo pierced them thoroughly and soon they become nothing more but ashes in the wind. "Saken! Protect the exits!" Sera shouted through massive panic noises of others. She was going to guide the students out of the hall. As prefects, they must ensure the safety of everyone. She had Apollo regained its normal length as a staff and then made a dash to the other vampires attacking the students.

"No one here is on the menu ever boys!" Sera declared as she once more eliminated a group of mad vampires. She could also see that some of the night class were also aiding in the protection of the humans. It was a good thing to see. She did a triple back flip and kicked a mad vampire upwards on the chin. Well, she had no regards if certain private parts are being showed. Its not like they can touch it anyway. Plus, she had other things to deal with. "Everyone move to the exits!" She announced as the students made their way. As for her, she protected them from the ones who wanted to make them part of a bloody buffet. She was doing a fine job protecting the students who were escaping but, she had to make way towards Daitokuji and Tamesis. However...

"I will never forgive you."

A falter in her movements, her vision blurring, a sense of weakness in her legs, she could feel her head throbbing and more importantly, someone was suffocating her again. But, there was no one near her to do that. Unfortunately for her, a group of mad vampires came upon her. They would take advantage of this opportunity to silence her. So, this is how she was going to die? She tightened her grip on Apollo and tried to regain the control of her body. But, it was too late for her. A vampire was about to slash her head off. Yet, the blow never came. Instead, her eyes widened in disbelief as blood splattered on her. The owner of the blood... "Saken!"

Finally, she was able to regain the normal state of her body. But, the memories of the past overlapped with the present. This was not happening again. She must be dreaming. But, the body falling to the ground and blood now pooling on the floor was not just her imagination. They were real as anything can get. She felt her body tremble and the horror overwhelming her. "No... No... No!" In anger, she immediately disposed the vampires around her in a flurry. She then went to approach Saken laying on the floor. Cradling the body so delicately, she looked at him with such great sadness and disbelief.

"Hey, Saken... Saken... We need to get a move on... Saken..." There was no response as she pulled his body closer to her more. He was getting colder by the second and the blood continued to flow like a waterfall. She must be able to do something. There is no way she was going to go through this again. No way. She pulled him closer again as her head was now hidden behind her bangs and the white costume she wore was now tainted by crimson blood. "Please, Saken..." Just like that, another round of mad vampires approached the lamenting Sera. But, something was wrong... Invisible wind surrounded her and the somehow, she was releasing an aura faintly familiar.

"It is like a big can of paint was thrown haphazardly at a priceless canvass with no way of restoring it to its former splendor. Do you know that feeling? I do now."

There was no way anyone could have prepared for what was happening. Everyone simply expected a colorful night of harmless fun and horror. It was supposed to be a memorable Halloween Party. He was supposed to have another new experience of a good and normal life of a student. This was not mean to be like this at all. As if fate threw a curveball and no one was able to catch it at the last second. So, it was no surprise as Khalid stood there completely paralyzed. There were a lot of things he had found himself helpless in some instances and they were in regards to his sister and to the sudden attack by Tsukumo towards the Night Class.

It was like everything around him slowed down exponentially. He could see every detail of the gory chaos that ensued after Tsukumo disappeared from sight. He was not able to reach the two white-haired girls in time due to the crowd blocking his path. Instead, a real horror fitted for this hallowed of all nights had occurred. Windows surrounding the grand hall erupted into a shower of glasses and along with its rondo of crashes, the monsters of the event appeared with such eyes filled with madness. Soon, it was followed by a series of shrieks and shouts of confusion and panic. It was total mayhem.

At the state of frozen enchantment, the blue-haired pure-blood was not able to determine that one of the vampires had braved to attack someone like him in such high hierarchy. "Master!" Orpei attempted to knock his Master out of his self-induced trance. At the same time, the pink familiar hissed angrily towards the approaching vampire. Khalid was able to snap out of his paralysis. However, it was too late for him to react accordingly as he waited for the blow. He was a pure-blood. He will survive. But, the blow meant for him connected with another as the familiar long white hair appeared before his eyes. "Daitokuji-san...?"

He was in a haze that his calling turn out into a sense of confirmation. The scent of her blood came at him in such a full-blast. By instinct, he covered his nose in an attempt to block his sense of smell. But, it was to no avail. He could feel the urge for him to feed however, it was kept in line due to the fact he had just taken his own portion of tomato juice earlier. Still, there was no denying it. Daitokuji's blood was truly enticing and even made the situation around them more volatile. The attacking vampires finally noticed such a delicious smell. The madness within them was only fueled further. "Orpei if you would please."

The pink furball finally left his Master's shoulder and flew a respectable distance from the two. As for Khalid, he gently took hold of his protector's arm and looked at it with such sadness. "You always save me." He stated with disappointment and mild amusement. Yet, his eyes were not showing such signs of entertainment. Instead, it was seriously regretful of what happened. She said that he does not fit the profile of a princess. But as it stands, he was pretty much a damsel in distress. "You're right, I'm no princess." He slowly lowered his lips upon the makeshift tourniquet she had made to stop the bleeding. As his lips touched the cloth, a small blue light surrounded wound. After a few seconds, the wound was no longer visible and the bleeding had stopped.

"I wanted to be someone who could protect the ones I care about. Just like you." He lifted his head and gently smiled Daitokuji before releasing her arm from his hold. He then looked towards Orpei's direction who was hovering above the hall. The familiar was looking at the entire situation from a bird's eye view. It was then another figure entered the area. Khalid was not certain whether this person was friend or foe. Although, he felt something odd about this stranger. Soon enough, the cloaked figure revealed himself and even displayed control over fire. This person was not just a human.

The newcomer introduced himself as the second-command of the Hunter Association. Takeshi Hiiragi said that he was here to protect Daitokuji, Him, and even Nightless. He also stated that he would do as they requested if they want him to protect someone. "Please, help the students." This is what Khalid instantly asked towards the hunter without much of a hesitation. There was no reason for any other people to get involved in such dangerous matter especially when it would appear this was partly because of his existence. He was about to say more when he heard a scream from a very familiar voice.

Looking at the direction, Khalid saw Nightless cradling a fatally hurt male prefect, Watoshi. His eyes widened at this in complete shock and horror. The scent of blood was overwhelming Daitokuji's. It was like a never-ending flowing water. There was no stopping it. Without further ado, the blue-haired pure-blood ran across the hall to get to where Nightless was. He did not care of the vampires that he had managed to attract. There must still be a way to save him. His eyes of bright blue darkened resembling that of a stormy skies. Lightning suddenly hit the vampires wanting to attack the female prefect.

"Nightless-san! Watoshi-san!" But something made him stop at a relative distance from the female prefect, it was not because of seeing the now lifeless body of the male prefect. Khalid noticed an invisible force seeping out of Nightless. It was odd and had a certain spark to it. He could feel his skin being pricked by unseen needles as he advanced further. However, it could not compare to what Nightless was feeling right now. All the blue pure-blood could do was to call out for the girl who was still holding on to Watoshi's body as if believing that he was only asleep. If that was only possible... If only... "Nightless-san..."

"People become stronger and kinder because of their pain. I feel like I've been taught what it truly means to be human."

Yukiko stared Khalid as he made his statement. Always saving him? So it would seem. The first time she saved him was from Kaiya, and now this time from a vampire's attack. She hadn't really thought one through though. She pursed her lips together and scoffed lightly. She didn't know how to take that, so she would just act as she always did, however; she could feel a faint rise in her heart beat when he placed his lips upon her wound. At first, she wanted to jerk her arm away from the blue-haired vampire, however; she allowed him to do as he wished. In that instance, her wound had healed completely and was no longer bleeding. It was a good thing for it enticed the vampires in their vicinity. She could see the rise of hunger in their ruby colored eyes, and she glared at them. She wouldn't have a single fang mark mar her body, not while she was still alive.

"If that is what you wish, then become stronger. I will be waiting for that day when I will no longer be needed to protect you," she stated in a rather serious tone. If he could be stronger to protect those he cares about, then she wouldn't be needed any longer. But she wouldn't allow herself to be the one needing protection. She would never allow herself that. It is why she does not hesitate in her actions. "I am not Serafine Nightless. I am Yukiko," she spoke, correcting the newcomer. He was an odd sight, but she did not let it deter her. A shrill cry then filled the area and it caused something in Yukiko to break. She knew that cry. The sadness, the pain that filled it, it was one she knew well. Yukiko snapped her head in the direction of the sound and her eyes widened substantially. There, crouched to the floor, was Serafine and Watoshi, however; Watoshi wasn't moving. His blood, it filled the area more so that even she could smell it. She made no notion to move as Khalid quickly made his way towards the two. Something inside of Yukiko was breaking.

"Sa...ken," she whispered out. She could feel her body shaking. Rage fueled her being as a dark aura surrounded her. The one that radiated from Serafine was almost electrifying, however; Yukiko's aura was more subtle and hidden. Vampires were still running mad around the area as some passed her, aiming to go for the fallen prefects and the blue-haired vampire. She couldn't have that now could she? She grabbed one of the vampires by their collar and flung him around, landing him in the group of vampires that were aiming to take the lives of her friends. They had succeeded in taking the life of one, however; they will not succeed a second time. "Filth will not touch them. Die," she stated in a calm voice, almost as if she were talking casually with a friend. A vampire lunged at her with his claws outstretched as she dodged. She brought her fist forward, catching the vampire in the jaw before flipping over his back and kicking the next vampire that attacked.

Her eyes were glowing a dangerous violet color as she grabbed a hold of one of the vampire's head. With a feral snarl, she ripped his head off, pulling it from the spine as the tendons snapped. Blood poured from the large wound, drenching her in the process. The remaining vampires turned their attention towards the new source of blood as their hungry gazes fixed on Yukiko. Her eyes were burning with rage as she dusted off her kimono as if the blood wasn't even there. There would be no mercy for these vampires, even if they were under her spell. She would kill them, and move on to the one responsible. Kaiya would pay for this with her life if it was the last thing Yukiko did. A vampire managed to grasp her from behind, however; it was allowed. Before the vampire could sink her fangs into Yukiko's neck, she brought her head back, connecting it with the vampire's face. The vampire clutched at the pain, releasing Yukiko in the process.

"I do not like being touched. You will do well to remember that," she stated as she swept the vampire off of her feet, tripping her in the process. With a quick sweep of her foot, the vampire no longer had a head to sport, instead, pieces clinging to Yukiko's shoe. She watched as the body disintegrated into dust as a few of the vampires kept a wary glance. She shot them all a deadly glare as she continued to rain death upon the vampires. She may have been but a human, but at this current moment, the rage released small amounts of her vampire side. They all had to die. It was the only thing she could do. As she made for another vampire, a hand laid itself on her shoulder. She grasped the arm and twisted it, however; she quickly released it once she spotted who it belonged to.

"Aiko-chan, that's enough," Yamato stated, his eyes filled with worry. He wiped blood from her cheek as he stared at her. He felt the pain of losing a friend just as strongly as she had, and he wanted nothing more than to see those pay for it, but this wasn't the way he wanted Yukiko to go. "Go to them. I will take care of the rest," he stated as he pulled Yukiko behind him, ushering her towards the fallen prefect. She did not retort, instead only nodding her head slightly as she felt a wave of calmness surround her. She walked slowly towards Khalid and Serafine, watching as the girl clutched to Saken's body. There was nothing more they could do for him. He was gone. He would no longer live and provide his knowledge of the herbs or provide medicine for the illnesses that would befall them.

"Serafine," Yukiko called out so softly that she wasn't even sure she had spoken the female prefects name. Yukiko knew the pain she was feeling. Her father had died in front of her, and it broke something inside of Yukiko. Now, whatever had broken had shattered as Saken's lifeless body was portrayed in front of her. This aura that radiated from Serafine was familiar, but Yukiko couldn't place it. She didn't like seeing the female prefect like this. She was a strong girl, albeit a vixen, but a strong one. She had envied that about Serafine, but seeing her like this. Yukiko clutched her fists together, turning them white in the process. "Khalid, watch over them," were the only words she spoke as she turned to leave. She wanted to find Kaiya, now.

"Please, help the students." Takeshi paused for a moment and looked back towards the Pure-Blood. He had order's to keep as many from death as possible, he had already planned on helping the students, but with those words, he was less worried about having to protect the blue haired vampire, and he could do as he pleased. "As you wish." He spoke rising back to his full height, and then disappearing from their sight. The dark haired boy moved swiftly through the crowd and eliminating any vampire that posed a threat as he went. Take worked around the exits, making sure as many humans as possible got out because they met death face to face. he worked quickly and silently until nearly the last of them were out side, and finally he returned to the side of the Pure-Blood and his companies. "It would be wise to leave now." he spoke plainly, barely even glancing at the corpse that they all seemed to know. He turned slightly so he could face the on-coming Vampires. He could feel the pill starting to take effect. For a moment it was just a dull throb over the strange black tattoo like marking's on his shoulder, but slowly the pain exculpated to the point were it felt like he was burning.

If it had been anyone else, they would have been curled up in a ball on the ground, but he was used to the pain, and in a strange way, almost welcomed it. Soon a fire colored flame like pattern expanded from the marking on his shoulder and grew across his body, until it appeared he was engulfed in flames himself. Takeshi clenched his teeth as it slowly spread across his body but other wise, he looked unfazed. All at once the small group was surrounded by Mad Vampires. Nearly all of the were mourning, but the white haired girl that had said something to him earlier seemed to go crazy, and in an instant, she was fighting the Vampires. Killing them without mercy. It was actually quite interesting, and he made no move to step in and stop her, instead he watched silently as someone else stepped in and some how got the crazed girl to calm down. Now that the girl stepped down, he figured it was his turn to have a go at them, and so, Takeshi moved in a blur once more, only this time it was a blue of red and black, his sword cutting through the Vampire's as if they were made of just butter.

Before he could take out the next closest Vampire a large white wolf landed on the Vampire, and sank his teeth into the man's throat, making him fall and die slowly but effectively. "Eiji, what are you doing?" Onyx shifted his sword to his other hand while raising an eyebrow at the wolf, who backed off of the dying Vampire and turned towards the young man, a disapproving look flashing in the wolves eyes. "You will need help when you are finished, since you are using that ability." The wolves fur ruffled in annoyance. Takeshi sighed and raised on of his hands towards a charging Vampire. Fire shot from his palm and onto the female vampires head, burning her hair off until she was bald and making the woman scream in agony before suddenly turning to dust. "Did he send you?" His voice appeared bored by there was a slight flash in his crimson and back eyes that gave the aggression away. The wolf bowed his head ever so slightly in return. "Khalid, watch over them," Onyx approached the small group once more and frowned at the white haired girl. It would not be wise to go running around the Academy at the moment, not to mention the girl was injured, but there was nothing he could do to stop her. "Go with her, Eiji." He waved his hand towards the wolf in a dismissing manner before crouching beside the mourning girl that was beside the corpse.

Takshi stared at the young boy's face for a moment, and then carefully reached out and closed his eyes. "I understand you are mourning, and if you wish, you may blame me for your friends death later, but for now, you must leave. I cannot exterminate the pests while you and your friends are in danger." His voice came out surprisingly gentle as he looked at the girl. He could tell something was slightly off about her at the moment, but he couldn't risk the chance of another human dying tonight. "When this is over, we will give him a proper funeral, but he would have died for nothing if you perish here." He reached out for her slightly, offering the girl a hand, If he needed to carry her, he would, but he needed all of them out of this building in case he got carried away.

"Someone told me that a girl's tears are precious. So, I hid them. But, they are falling now without stopping for all to see. Does that mean it's not precious anymore?"

She knows. It was not like she was ignorant or stupid. There were no responses from the boy she was cradling so preciously. No gentle sounds of breathing. Skin slowly losing its warmth. Pulse was nonexistent. A heartbeat was now but a memory. Saken was now dead in her arms. There was no changing that fact. But, she has the right to reject reality. Instead, she looked back to the memories she had with Saken. They were times they would enter arguments. But, they were more for fun than serious intentions. He would never fail to be baffled of her flirtatious advances and scold her often for being too carefree and all.

Then, there were the moments she wanted for Saken to enjoy life a bit more. She wanted him to live as a normal student even in such an environment they were in. He deserved that and so she did every little thing that would make her partner be more active with school activities. It was also why she had gained a certain animosity with that pink-haired friend of Saken. This is because he was her partner in being a prefect. Additionally, she took it upon herself to have him live on not burdened by a past. She knows how hard it could be to chained to a time that can never be changed.

How ironic, it was. It was because her past overlapped with her present. Saken did what her mother had done for her. Both acts were the same. Both acts garnered the same consequences. They were now both dead. She decided to be a hunter because she wanted to have the strength to protect. At the same time, she wanted to never experience such sad things again. But why did this happen again? Why did she become so helpless again? Someone, please tell her why do these kind of things have to happen over and over again? Why do people have to die for her? Why can't she do nothing about it?

Someone was calling her. She knew the voice belonged to the blue pure-blood. But, it felt so distant from her. She simply lowered her head more. Because, it only made her feel the rejecting reality was futile. Then, there it was again. Her name was called again. This time, her whole first name was used. The only ones who usually does that was her mother. Sometimes her father when he would give her a stern sermon. It was odd hearing it at this moment. She knew that voice was from Yukiko. Anyway, she simply bit her lower lip in response. She knew they meant well... But, she just wanted to be left alone with Saken. She still wanted to believe he was just sleeping. After all, she did tell him to get some shut-eye.

This time, there was another person near her. A hand proceeded to close those lifeless eyes of Saken. She did not slap it away but that gesture made something fall from her eyes. There was no use anymore. Saken was gone from her. This person near her was a stranger. His words floated through her like wind and did not hold ground. But, a hand was given to her to hold on to. It seemed, she was being asked to leave. From that point, she finally revealed her face that was hidden earlier. Sunset eyes looked at the one offering his hand. They were very captivating and a rare coloring even among vampires and even more so to humans.

But what made them tragically beautiful were the tears streaming down from them like a cascading river. It may be considered inconsiderate. But, she was very beautiful at this moment. She was so fragile and still had a sense of silent strength in her. "He was going to treat me lunch again..." Sera finally spoke after a long interval of silence from her end. One could hear from her voice alone how broken and sad she was. Her voice was trembling and incredibly melancholic. "He was going to show me that cute puppy he took in..." She slowly reached for the outreached hand but, it never connected.

Instead, she grabbed hold onto the stranger's collar. She hold onto it tightly. "Why does he have to die for me? I should be the one... I should be..." Sera was not able to finish her sentence as the emotional strain and coupled with the physical exhaustion of the recent event that happened not so long ago took over her. She lost consciousness once more as she fell backwards releasing her hold onto Saken and to the stranger's collar. Darkness encircled her world and it was not that different right now as her tears continued to fall from her eyes even when they had finally closed.

"I guess it is true what they say. You never know when those things you hold dear disappear. So, cherish it until the end. But, wouldn't that be more painful when it is time to let go?"

Losing someone, Khalid never had that kind of experience. His parents were pretty much alive. This could be the same with his grandparents who harbored great expectations towards him. Then, there was also his little sister who hold him in such a passionate gaze. They were still part of the living world and he intended for them to be that way for a long time. So, he wanted to learn the dealings of this world. He wanted to see and prepare for certain events that can leave such tragic scars. For, he does not want his family to be under harm or any threats. It is why he was here at this school. In addition, it was also partly the reason he wanted to keep a good distance from Keilani.

Thus, he will not be a hypocrite to say that he knew how the female prefect was feeling at this very moment. He could not offer words of comfort. Furthermore, he would not be insensitive to say that if he would only how she feels. Because, he does not want to experience such a heartbreak. The mere imagination of someone from his family getting hurt in anyway delivers great dilemma to him. So in reality, all he could do was to stand there and wait until Nightless calms down. He had always believed that the female prefect was a very strong individual. It is why she was an admirable person to him. So, he really does not want to see her like this so fragile and almost broken.

Why was this happening really? Did it really have to be this way? Could there not been another way? His vibrant blue eyes had lost its vigor due to the events that had unfold this night. Many lives had been taken. At the same time, someone close to them also had been taken from this world. He looked down as his bangs hid his eyes from any prying eyes. Standing there, he was like a motionless statue. Still wearing the intricate ball gown requested of him, he slowly made way for his long blue hair extensions as he removed them. He let them fall to the ground.

Orpei was still hovering above the hall. He had watched what had transpired with great sadness. It is true that he was not that closely acquainted with the male prefect. But, he had seen that boy always looking at him and even taking the time to draw him. From that, he could conclude that he was good person. Moreover, it will always be sad to see someone so strong and always full of life be broken in one single moment. The female prefect had always been that constant factor in this academy. It is why everyone knew that no matter what happens the female prefect will be there. But now, she looked so defeated.

The vampires who wanted to take this opportunity to kill his Master and the others found it to be a failure. Daitokuji and the newcomer had quickly disposed of them. One was fighting out of an order. The other was fighting in frustration and anger. As for his Master, he stood there paralyzed by the sadness overwhelming the female prefect. His creator had always been a gentle soul unfit for the violent and dark side of this world. It is why he is adamant about protecting him. But, would he really be enough? Then, he saw that white-haired girl saying something before taking her leave while a white wolf followed her. Those red eyes of his looked at his Master who finally moved.

"Don't go." Khalid started as his hand had instinctively grabbed hold of Daitokuji's wrist. It was to prevent her from going. He knew that the snow white-haired girl will be looking for the one responsible. There was no doubt in his mind that this was the doing of Tsukumo. "I don't want to see you hurt or worse. I don't think I can handle it. Not at all." Raising his head, he looked at her eyes with those blue eyes which resembled that of darken seas. She knew that Daitokuji was angry and had every right to enact her revenge. But, he knew that this would be what Tsukumo want. They were broken. They were confuse. They were falling. They were not strong. Not now.

Slowly, his hand slid down to hold her hand. They were firm yet carried such gentleness. At the same time, they were seeking something. Was it warmth? The feeling of being connected? To feel, one is not alone? "We need you here. Nightless-san needs you." He turned his body to fully face her. It is natural for anyone to rush out and find the source of this great tragedy. Actually, he wanted to do it himself. For the first time in his life, he felt a raging sensation deep within him. An anger that he was never accustomed to. For the first time, he wanted to truly disembowel someone badly. But, what was more important? This anger? Or a friend in need of support?

Right now, Nightless was more important. The female prefect needed someone by her side at this crucial moment. It goes without saying the female prefect had been there when they needed guidance and even a bit of cheering up. There was no way he would want to abandon Nightless when she was the one who needed their aid and support. In addition, he was not certain what he would do with this boiling rage. The hand holding Daitokuji was shaking not in fear but of control. He was trying hard to control his temper. Because, he did not want to fall into Tsukumo's schemes. Nor did, he want Daitokuji to do the same.

"More importantly, I need you here with me, Yukiko."

"This feeling, a feeling of being needed by someone other than yourself. What is this feeling?"

Yukiko glanced down at the white wolf as the newcomer instructed it to go with her. She only nodded to the wolf and as she made to leave, a hand snatched her wrist. She stopped, keeping her gaze in front of her. She knew who the hand belonged to and she didn't need to look at him. But the words that spilled from his mouth caused her to turn towards the blue-haired vampire in confusion. He didn't want her to go? But why? She wanted to go, to find Kaiya and put an end to the girl. Even if she wasn't a vampire, she would still find a way to end Kaiya. She allowed his hand to connect with hers, and an odd sensation swelled within her. It caused her heart to feel as if it were skipping a beat and it confused her greatly. Then, she spotted Serafine who grasped onto the newcomer's shirt, almost as if she were clinging to life itself.

"Ta-Khalid," she stated, pulling the boy closer to her and embracing him as she had the first time. She couldn't understand anything, however; it didn't matter as long as she was with them, with him. "I do not want to see anyone else hurt either. Even you and your irritating bangs," she began, releasing him. She wasn't sure when these people had become so integral to her life, when they became her life. With Saken now perished, it felt like a part of her had been ripped from her chest, hence why she had destroyed so many vampires. The anger, the guilt, it overpowered her judgement and all she wanted was retribution for Saken. She could feel the tremble of his body through his hand when he held hers. Staring at his darkened eyes, she couldn't read his inner turmoil, and the fact that he was experiencing the same rage she had; it was something she didn't like.

"Anger does not suite you. You are too much like sunshine for your sun to turn red," she spoke, rolling her hands through his irritating bangs, sweeping them to the side once more. She didn't know why, but it was comforting. It seemed to calm her somewhat and the hand that held hers was still in hers. Why was that? She didn't feel the need to recoil from it, nor did she want to let go of it. It frightened her a bit, almost as if she would fall if she were to let go. Her eyes drifted from Khalid to Serafine who had seemed to be spilling those tears of hers. It was a sad sight indeed. Was that how she looked when she cried for her father? So helpless and defenseless? She never wanted to cry in front of someone again. It revealed a part of herself, an intimate part that was not for the world to see. Again, there was a stinging sensation in her heart as the girl continued to cry.

She wanted to reach out to the girl, try and comfort her somehow, but her hand stopped midway. What could she do for Serafine? Comforting someone, it wasn't something she did on a daily basis and she didn't want to make Serafine fall further than what she had already. She was never good with words, and now would not be the best time to try. She knew that much. She remained silent and watched as the girl lost the battle with consciousness. It truly was a sad night. This night was meant for fun, for students to enjoy themselves and the night. Kaiya had ruined it all. She destroyed the peace of the night just by her presence alone. This would not be forgotten, however; the students must be made to forget. Bibi flew to Yukiko's side, landing on her shoulder before glancing at Serafine's fallen form.

"Hiiragi, take Serafine to the infirmary. There are others who still need aide, but Serafine is more important as of right now. Take care of her first," she spoke towards the black-haired male. Serafine needed to be cleared of the field as the remaining nuisances were taken care of. She could see Yamato taking control of the lesser vampires and forcing them away from the area. It was an ability only given to pure-bloods. The ability to control those lesser than themselves. If she were still a vampire, she would have made them perish. She wouldn't have been as lenient as Yamato was right now. They would have all perished, even if they were just pawns in the end. They had hurt Yukiko, and Serafine, in a way that was beyond repair. No ounce of mercy should have been given, however; the words that slipped passed Serafine still rolled around in Yukiko's subconscious.

She should have been the one to die? Not Saken? Would it have made a difference? Would they not feel the same excrutiating pain at the loss of her still? Death was not something that should be pleasant, nor should someone wish for it to have been them. It will always cause an ache in the heart. As painful as it was, eventually there will be a light again. Saken would not have wanted Serafine to cry for him, and instead smile. Yukiko did not know the relationship between the two prefects, but it was deep. That much she could tell. Saken gave his life hoping to extend Serafines if only by a few more seconds, minutes, hours, days, or years. What she would do with the new extension would be for her to decide, but Yukiko did not want the girl to fall into a dark hole she couldn't get out of.

She turned to face Khalid once more. She reached out, her free hand cupping his face gently as she stared at his eyes once more. She would find a way to return to her pure-blood status, if only to receive the strength to protect her friends. She didn't want to lose any one else. She wouldn't be able to handle that stress again, especially if it were him. If she lost him, the one that was the source of her irritation, she wouldn't know what would become of her. These people, this person, they were a part of her now, as if they were her own flesh and blood. Their pain, their anguish, she could feel it and her chest tightened ever so lightly. She didn't want them to feel this way. It wasn't right. They deserved to be happy, and she would find a way to bring them that happiness. Tears did not need to be shed any longer.

"I will not go. I will stay by your side, Khalid."

Takeshi watched silently as the girl finally looked up at him, through he appeared un-fazed but the stunning color of her eyes, that seemed all too familiar for some reason, and the tears that rolled down her broken face, inside he felt like crying himself. It was a strange feeling that he hadn't felt in so long, so he tried to ignore it, he tired to ignore the fact that someone who seemed so strong was now breaking and falling to pieces right in front of him. "He was going to treat me lunch again..." So that's it, the girl had a relationship with the dead human. It made sense, when he caught sight of the pain in her eyes, the look reminded him of a younger boy he had once known, the same boy that had ran from his family's corpses and grew up in a wolf pack. "He was going to show me that cute puppy he took in..." He leaned closer, slightly in fear that she would pass out right there, but instead he grabbed onto his collar in a vice grip. All of his training told him to break the girls grip, to remove her hold on him,but he just couldn't. There was no point, the girl meant him no harm. "Why does he have to die for me? I should be the one... I should be..." His eyes narrowed slightly, these were familiar questions.

He watched silently as the girl lost consciousness and her grip on his shirt loosened, but right before her head collided with the ground, his hands snapped out and caught her. "Hiiragi, take Serafine to the infirmary. There are others who still need aide, but Serafine is more important as of right now. Take care of her first," Takeshi looked up towards the white haired girl before looking back down to the unconscious female he was supporting with his hands. it seemed this job would be easier than he had thought. Most of the vampires were being contained by another Pure-Blood, all he would have to do if hand this girl over to the doctors of the Academy and he could leave. They barely even needed him."As you wish." As he spoke, a small smile formed on his lips and the strange fire colored markings on his body slowly reduced back to the black tattoo like mark on his shoulder in a second. He would have to burn off the extra power in his system later, no point in wasting one of the pills. He would just have to take on another mission after he dropped this girl off.

Takeshi pulled her closer and stood, cradling the girl to his chest as he per-paired to leave, through he hesitated a few feet away from the other two. "It was a pleasure meeting you both, lets hope our path's do not cross under such circumstances again." He nodded towards both of them before looking over towards Eiji, who was still standing by the white haired female. The wolf and Takeshi shared a look for a moment, before the wolf bowed his head ever so slightly in understanding. "I will stay here and watch over them until sun rise if you wish, Master." The dark-haired hunter nodded and without saying anything else, he turned, and left. Despite the fact that he hated being called master, and he was in fact not the master of the wolf, it never seemed to understand his dislike for the nickname. It bothered him more then ever, he didn't know who Eiji belonged too, and the wolf refused to tell him who his true master was, it was annoying and bothersome, but there was nothing he could do, he honestly had little to no control over the animal, it just followed his orders on a mere whim.

Take carefully carried the girl out side, down a side walk, and into another building. Perhaps later, when everything had calmed down, the Pure-Blood and the Human would spare a moment to reflect and wonder how the dark-haired hunter knew his way around the Academy like the back of his hand, on how he knew right where to take the unconscious human prefect without the need to ask for directions. They wouldn't realize it right away, but if he had been an enemy, he could have been kidnapping the girl, he had given them no real proof that he was who he said he was, all he gave them were the same words that he often used on missions. They were too trusting, too babied, and so they were lucky he was who he claimed to be, or they would have lost two friends in one night. "Despite how you are feeling, you are actually a rather strong human." He spoke aloud to the girl he held, his crimson and black eyes taking in his features as he neared the infirmary. "Don't let the loss of a loved one change your life." He was aware his words were falling on deaf ears, but if someone had been there to tell him the same thing when he was a child and he had just seen death first hand, he wouldn't have turned out as cold as he was.

Takeshi used his elbow to push open the door which he quickly slid through before it swung shut. Injured students sat here and there, and all of the beds were occupied at the moment. Onyx turned towards one of the nurses who was passing by him and called her to a halt. "She needs a bed." He spoke plainly but the nurse looked at him like he was insane. "Where packed! Just set her down in a chair and she'll be fine when she wakes up." His eyes narrowed, the crimson and black spinning dangerously. "If anyone in those beds bleeding to death?" The woman shook her head 'no' quickly. "Are any of them dying?" His voice was dangerously low, the woman shook her head 'no' again. "If you don't get her a bed, they will be." His eyes narrowed as the woman's budged and she told him to follow her. She led him to a room where a small, nerdy looking boy with a cut on his left cheek was sitting, through that was the only injury he had. The woman told him to move, which he wouldn't have done if it hadn't been for Takeshi's glare. Once both humans were gone, be carefully set Sera down onto the bed, and carefully covered her up with a blanket. "Sleep well." He mumbled, turning around and leaving the room. He would have to report how the mission went.

"I'm not afraid of being broken. I'm afraid of getting fixed and then knowing I was left behind."

"Mom!" Sera shouted with such desperation as her eyes were wide open. They reflected fear and panic. She was even sweating. It took a while for her to determine where she was. The familiar white ceiling of the infirmary welcomed her line of sight. How many times had she been in the infirmary? It was far too many in her count. Because in her past years, she had never come this way before not until now. She had a dream of the night when her mother was killed. It had been quite a while since she had that one. Sitting up, she placed a hand on her face. It effectively covered her right eye as she contemplated on the events that probably lead for her to be here. Ah yes, there was an attack and then...

She slowly lowered her hand to her lap and curled them there. Her head was lowered as well. A nurse came in hearing her scream with panic and concern. "Are you alright!?" Sera heard it clearly and it made her want to laugh in complete irony. It was a good question. Was she fine? Was she alright? Physically, yes. This much she could say about herself minus that weakness spell, she was having recently. Mentally, pretty much in the middle. She could think straight but did not want to. Emotionally, no. Because right now, she just wanted to rip the head of the one responsible for this attack. The one responsible for Saken's death, but here is the kicker...

The one person she deems responsible for her partner's death was no one but her. She remained still there and this only made the nurse worry more. "Sera-chan?" Hearing her name, she took a deep breath and met the nurse's eyes with a small yet sad smile. There was no other way around her feelings. This sadness will stay with her. It will always. "Not yet, but I will be fine." She stated as she got up of her bed and stretched her limbs. There was still something she needed to do. Even now, she is still a prefect. She could not let other people take over for her especially at this time. Moreover, she wanted to do something. Because in that way, she won't be overwhelmed by her grief. "Anyway, who brought me here?" She asked partly in curiosity and the need to thank you. After all, it was the least she could do.

The report was finally in. Reino had assigned Takeshi to assist at Cross Academy. He knew that Sera would not be pleased about his interference but, he has right to do so. For now, he released a heavy sigh. It was starting as he looked at the picture frame on his desk. His eyes of crimson soften to a great degree of warmth and sadness. It was a picture of him, Sera, Freidert, and his beloved wife. "You told me about this, didn't you...?" He stood from his chair and went to the large window behind his desk and looked out to the night. There was no turning back from this point on. He had told his son to return immediately to the country. For what was to happen, he will need all hands. Moreover, he would have to make sure that his daughter steer clear from this but knowing her it would be difficult. "Don't worry my love, I will keep her away from that destiny. I promise."

"For the first time in my life, I truly did not want to let go of this hand."

Just like that, Khalid was pulled into an embrace. He wondered if it was normal to find comfort in these arms. Would it be fine to feel soothed by her scent, warmth, the stable beating of her heart, and the even sounds of her breathing? In any case, he liked this gentle feeling. It is true that at first he was intrigued by Daitokuji due to her unhindered actions of saying his bangs were annoying. A curiosity which slowly etched into something more as the days passed. He looked forward to such interactions that he even had considered himself a masochist or probably had a twisted sense of humor.

But now, he finds himself in need of this girl. This person who was only a smudge of dust in his blank canvas before was now a big splatter of color. There was a ghost of a smile as he heard her speak about not wanting to see anyone else hurt even his irritating bangs. They had the same feelings about this matter. Yet, the smile disappeared as she released him from her hold. Something was missing as it could be seen for a brief moment the disappointed expression upon his face. However, he was able to replace that immediately with a face of solemnity. His thoughts reverting to the issue at hand. There was still the haunting anger within.

It seemed he was an easy read. Daitokuji had commented about anger not suiting him. Was that so? He was also a person capable of such feelings when pushed to the limits of his kindness and patience. No one is above such negative feelings in the end. Although, this was truly the first time he had felt such a thing. But, the next set of words from her made him blinked a couple of times. Did she just say he was like sunshine? Now, it was rather contradicting as he was a pure-blood, a vampire known to be the denizens of the night. There was also the issue about sunlight irritation and intolerance from some of his kind.

Well, he interpreted this as something positive. Still, he wondered how? He understood why others call him Sky but as Sunshine, he had yet to know the reason behind it. He lowered his head about this statement of hers and then took a moment to look at Nightless' condition. The girl was now crying with such sadness unfathomably by anyone. She cling to the newcomer, Hiiragi like it was the only thing that prevents her from falling into the abyss of no return. But, this appeared to be too much as the female prefect had lost her consciousness. Fortunately, Hiiragi caught her. It was then that Daitokuji told the male to take Nightless' to the infirmary to be treated and watched over. He has no qualms about it. Hopefully, the man was not someone who would harm the female prefect. If so, all hell will break loose.

Once, the two went on their way. He caught sight of Inoue. Being a pure-blood, Inoue exercised his right to the will of the vampires lower than him in the hierarchy. This has certainly had finally settled the chaos. Somehow, Khalid felt a bit ashamed. He should have done the same thing instead of being a problem to everyone in regards of the chaos that ensued. Soon enough, the nuisances had been calmed down and will be dealt with in a civil manner. As for the students, the humans, they will probably be gathered and then have their memories erased about this night. There was no other way than that. For those who had been hurt, their experience will be rewritten into something considered a normal accident and such.

Afterwards, he returned his attention to Daitokuji who cupped his face with her other hand. His blue eyes had a lighter shade than before. The trembling of his body from the incessant battle of control for anger was slowly being waived. He leaned to her hand that was placed against his cheek. Her hands, he truly liked it very much. He met her eyes and upon hearing her answer. The pure-blood cannot help but show a gentle and grateful smile on his lips. "Thank you." He spoke with such appreciation as he slowly leaned forward letting their foreheads touched. "Yukiko." It was spoken much like a lover would although, this was done by him unintentionally.

Orpei lowered himself to the two once everything had been settled down. He landed on his Master's shoulder in which Khalid slowly pulled away from Daitokuji and looked at the pink familiar. "Orpei, how is everything?" The familiar waited for a moment to answer as he looked at Yukiko as if gauging the girl and then to his Master who was now looking at him curiously. "Everything is under control now." Upon hearing this, he released a sigh of relief. Finally, it was over. But then again, the consequences of this night will continue to haunt them. The lives that had perished will never return anymore.

Furthermore, it was pretty much certain on his opinion. Tsukumo will not stop simply from here. That person has her goals and intentions and she will see that through. For in the end, she wanted him for whatever reason, he had yet to know. He had already written to his parents and had asked for an audience with his grandparents. As such on the weekend, he will be leaving the campus to inquire about the reasons why someone would be after him. It is a fact that he is viewed as a luxury item due to being born to the Forbidden Twins even more so when his features are far different from his clan. But, Tsukumo implied to have not care about that as if she had been looking for him, knew him at some point which was not impossible within his knowledge.

In any case, Khalid wanted to take hold of one thing at time. Right now, he wanted to go an check on Nightless. Among all of them, the female prefect was the one who suffered from all of this the most. She had lost truly someone very important to her."Now, I believe Nightless-san's needs us to show support." His eyes looked at Yukiko and tugged her hand a bit to imply for them to go to the infirmary. Sometimes, there are no need for words. A simple pat or hug was enough to show one cares. Action in the end speaks louder than words.

"I cannot understand why this ache in my heart causes it to beat radically, but I don't mind. Just as long as it's you."

For once, a smile lingered on Yukiko's lips. It wasn't a forced smile, it was warm, and gentle. It was as if she wasn't the same Yukiko, and instead was replaced by a doppelganger. This feeling, it was new and at the same time, it confused her. She couldn't understand why her heart was beating so radically as the blue-haired vampire leaned closer until their foreheads were touching. She could feel her cheeks flare up slightly as he thanked her, however; the way he stated her name, it caused a burning sensation to cross over her face and towards her ears. It wasn't the first time he ever said her name, but the way he stated it now caused something to stir in her heart. She was grateful when he pulled away, and the pink familiar landed upon his shoulder. She was afraid of what might have happened if he lingered on her forehead much longer.

She, herself, wasn't sure exactly what would have happened, but she was glad it didn't. Instead, she focused her attention to the area around them, watching as the last vampire was released from Yamato's spell and out of sight. Her face still burned slightly as she could feel a pout form on her lips. Why is it that she felt this way every time she was near this blue-haired vampire? It only started recently, but after that day, the one she declared that she didn't want him near her, nor anyone else; it felt as if something had grasped hold of her and was slowly suffocating her. Being away from them, from him, for those few days had caused her heart to ache so terribly. Now, it felt as if someone was trying to play a drumming song on it. She wasn't used to such a feeling. It was foreign to her and she desperately wanted to understand it.

For now, she'll have to push those thoughts to the back of her mind. Orpei announced that everything was under control and as if to prove it, she glanced around the area once more. It was ironically peaceful. There were no more shouts, no more blood curdling cries. It was silent. The silence was becoming deafening to her senses and she didn't like it. She was grateful for when Khalid broke the silence. They were to go check upon Serafine. With that, she allowed him to tug her hand as she slowly walked beside him. It was odd, normally she would pull her hand away from the contact, especially at how long it was. But she didn't. It felt, oddly, nice to her and provided a warming sensation. It is why she called him Sunshine. He exuded a warmth about him that was similar to that of the sun.

It was calming, warm, bright, everything that could chase away the negative feelings and just calm her down. Why was that? She pushed the thoughts from her mind as they neared the infirmary. She had told Hiiragi to take Serafine there, and she could only hope that he had. Otherwise there would be two, very angry, person's after him. When they entered the infirmary, Yukiko was greeted with the sight of Serafine stretching her limbs and asking a question. Instead of replying, she finally released Khalid's hand and made her way towards the black-haired girl. She stared at the girl's sunset colored eyes, something flashing behind her own crimson ones before she grabbed the girl's arm. She then pulled her closer to her, wrapping her arms around the girl in a gentle embrace.

"Serafine, I am sorry," she whispered softly against the girls' hair. She didn't know why she was apologizing, but she felt the need to. She didn't want to bring the girl any more sadness, so she remained in holding the girl. Her important people were filled with sadness, because of Kaiya. She didn't want to see her friend (when had they become so important) sad any longer. She wanted to see the bright smile on Serafine's face again. Tears, frowns, they did not deserve to mar her friend's beautiful face. If she could, she would have absorbed all of her pain, her tears, her anguish, just to free her from them. This wasn't like Yukiko, though. She never cared about anyone else other than herself. She didn't need to. She only had herself to worry about.

Was this because of Inoue? It seemed that after he managed to peel away the first layer, she slowly allowed these other people to become a part of her. They were her precious people now. She wanted to protect them from everything, however; her eyes removed them self from Serafine and glanced towards Khalid. He was the most precious of them. And she couldn't understand why. Removing herself from Serafine, she finally provided a decent amount of distance between them. It was good that the Hiiragi hunter had did as she told and brought the female prefect to the infirmary so she could recover. As for the question that lingered in the air, she would let the pure-blood take care of the rest.

The nurse watched silently as the girl woke up, she had seemed unharmed, and so the older woman was confused why the dark haired boy had insisted she get a bed. The older woman silently watched the exchange between the two girls before she answered Sera's question. "The young man with black hair brought you here." She looked around the room and at the three students before going on, a small knowing smile forming on her face. "If it hadn't been for your boyfriend you would have woken up in a chair." The woman waved a dismissive hand. "He pretty much threatened the Head Nurse so you could get a bed, he's a keeper." The woman winked at Sera before walking out of the room, telling her that she would be sending in another nurse to check her over before she could leave.

They woman had many students to tend to for the rest of the day, since whatever happened ended up leaving a lot of people harmed or injured. Vampire were already going from each room, whipping the events from the humans mind and leaving false ones in their wake. Their cover story was that a group of students from a rival school wanted to ruin the party, but in the end it was a horrible prank gone wrong. They were all under the impression that the horrible students had been caught, and that there was nothing to worry about. The only people that would know the truth would be the Night Class and the few humans that weren't required to have their memory erased.

Takeshi stood alone, he had already sent his report in by using a messenger bird, and he had already started his second mission for the night. He always had back up missions tucked away in case he had to rid some of the un-used power he had built up, if he didn't he would start to cook from the inside out, which no one wanted to go through. Large, fat droplets of rain fell harshly all around him, somehow Takeshi had recovered his cloak, and he now wore it once more. Everything around him was enclosed by darkness, but with a sudden flash of lightening and the threatening boom of thunder, a large building was shown before him for a brief second. Without a second thought, he jumped up and landed through a broken window. He spy's had found a hopeful information for him on the one mission he never rested for. Takeshi had spent the last few years trying to find the Vampires that had killed his family. He wanted to have his revenge.

The boy made his way down the dark hallway as if he had been there before, all the windows were broken, which allowed the rain the blow into the building. Even under cover he had no cover from this storm. A dim light shinned under a closed door, alerting him that he had found who he was looking for. In an instant the door was kicked open, and he rushed in, grabbing the closest person and throwing them into a wall. There was a sicking crunch, and then there were only two people left alive in the room. The flames spread in an instant across Takeshi's body, but the man was ready for what was coming, and jumped to the side as fire shot towards him. "You are early." The man flashed a grin as Takeshi narrowed his eyes. "I do not have time to waste on you, Rin. Tell me now and I will think about giving you a swift death later. Where is Cethin?" The other man, Rin, grinned at him like he had just told the funniest joke in the world. "Sorry, but I cant tell you." Takeshi narrowed his eyes slightly, part of him wondering if he could find any information on the mans dead body, but he wasn't supposed to kill him, he was supposed to capture him and return him to the base for proper questioning. "You would have been better off if you had spoken to me." Takeshi moved quickly, his body seeming to vanish before he appeared behind the Noble vampire.

He brought his left leg up and kicked Rin harshly in the back of the knee, making the man drop down, but he quickly moved away, before a ball of fire could connect with his head. The fight carried on for nearly an hour, but by the end, Takeshi no longer wore his cloak, he had thrown it down when it was half burnt. Despite his lack of clothing since his shirt had also been tossed aside, he appeared un-harmed. Rin wasn't as lucky. The Vampire's left arm had been burnt so badly it was now useless, and his right ankle was broken, It was clear to see who was going to win this fight, but neither of them were done yet. "You don't honestly think you can kill me." Takeshi laughed while closing his eyes from a moment as a small knowing smirk spread across his face as the fire from his stomach moved down to his hands. It was time to use the pill's power. "Who said I was trying to kill you?" His eyes snapped open as he threw both of his hands up. Black flames shot from his palms and slammed into Rin, slamming the vampire into a wall and holding him there. Oddly enough, the flames didn't burn the man, instead they slowly sunk into his body until they were seemingly no longer there.

Blood pooled up in Takeshi's right eyes like tears before spilling over and sliding down his face, to his chin, and to the ground. Rin fell to the floor, curling in on himself and screaming in pain until he gave in to the darkness and fell into a pain filled slumber. Takeshi stumbled forward, pain shooting up to his eye as his vision dimmed and he clutched his eye with his hand. That was the biggest down side to his power, it hurt horrible and bled like a bitch for a straight hour, not to mention how he nearly goes blind every time he uses it. He sighed before lifting Rin up and over his shoulder, and then jumping straight out the window. Surprisingly enough, he was actually only twenty minuets from the base, so he moved quickly and dropped the Vampire off in the questioning room before going straight to the leaders office. "My mission is finished." He mumbled plainly, walking into the man's room while whipping blood from his face.

"In grief and sadness, I truly realized I'm not alone. So, I can smile. But, I also know I have to say goodbye to you."

Her question was left hanging in the air when certain two individuals paid her a visit in the infirmary. Actually, it was rather convenient as she would not have a hard time tracking down information and at the same time knowing these two focal persons were safe and all. That sneaky snow-white wannabe had not accomplished her goal. It gives her a bit of relief with that knowledge. Because, she did not want to feel more ashamed of not being able to do anything for the ones she was supposed to protect and to keep safe. At the very least, she wanted to keep her integrity as a prefect.

Anyway, Sera was about to direct her questions towards the blue pure-blood and the white-haired secret princess who were on the scene like her and would have a good . But, she was instead surprised by Yukiko's gesture. It was truly unexpected as she knew Yukiko was not the kind to show such affections. Usually, Yukiko would be distant and polite at the very most in any social interactions towards anyone including towards her. So, it would be completely normal for her to be surprised about the sudden embrace she received.

The words that spilled out of Yukiko's lips made Sera finally understood the meaning of this hug and the apology. She gently closed her eyes and let the comfort from another flow through her. It seemed she was not the only who was in mourning. The thought that Yukiko and even Tamesis were concerned about her personal emotions in regards to Saken made her sadness be shadowed by their good intentions. She was very thankful and when she was finally released by Yukiko. Her eyes were opened once more as those sunset eyes catered appreciation and a shade of grief.

Across her lips, Sera had a small smile as she gazed at the two and then to Yukiko. "No need to say sorry, I'm the one who should be." She stated with sadness wrapped in her tone. It was not something which would be lifted so easily. The grief would stay and will linger. It will not go away just like the melancholy she was still feeling about the lost of her mother. The pain, the sadness will stay but, she must move forward. "I'm his partner. But, I will be fine soon enough. I don't want Saken to worry about my back anymore." She placed her hands at her back and released a sigh for a moment and then looked out to the nearby window. It was raining as if the sky was also grieving.

"I have to return the favor until my breath is taken away from me." Sera said with great affirmation as she then looked at Yukiko and then to Khalid with a smile. But, it was not as bright or the usual ones she uses whether by playful banter or simple daily interactions. "It is always hard isn't it? Saying goodbye?" Stretching her limbs once more and even her neck from sideways, she needed to do some work. She then took a deep breath and then nodded to herself in determination. "Time for me to work. I'm the Prefect here after all." She would mourn some other time. For now, she had to act as expected of her duty and her own will.

Speaking of which, Sera had yet to have an answer about her first question. As if reading her mind, the nurse answered. But, she never understood truly what was being said. When did she had a boyfriend? A keeper? Well, she had said that description many times towards others. So, she found it rather ironic that it was being said towards her. "Correct me if I'm wrong, did I yes to any proposal of getting married?" She asked right after the nurse left the three of them. Pointing at herself, her eyes looked at Tamesis and Yukiko in question. Her memory was still a bit blurry at the moment. "Because apparently, I now had a boyfriend." It seemed Sera was completely unaware of the mysterious man who brought her here and the one she had cried in front of.

Reino looked at the man who entered his office. It was Takeshi who had rose to the ranks and now became the 2nd-in-command of the Association. At the same time, this person was also one of the best hunters at his disposal in which was in a skill rivalry with his son, Freidert. Adding to that, this man was not just a human or is he also a vampire. That is Takeshi's greatest strength or others had also seen as his greatest flaw. "I know. I read your report." He took his seat and had been informed about the death of someone who he had found out earlier to be Watoshi Saken. His daughter's fellow prefect and partner. The details of the death also caused concern. It was closely similar to how Veronica died. Hopefully, Sera would find her way out from the memories of the past.

"I'm also informed about your catch. I will handle it personally." Reino implied with those crimson eyes that showed such strength and a power not to be questioned. Despite that, it will not be hard to see that Sera and him were related. Adding to that, their last name was good enough to close the deal. They were family. "I have informed the Headmaster about your transfer to Cross Academy." He handed the boy the transfer papers and all that would be needed for the proper transfer. Whether it was surprising or not, he would let Takeshi think about that. "You will probably be chosen as the new prefect and aid my daughter Sera in her duties." But at the end of this statement, Reino held a distinctive authority and a pang of coldness which made him the Association President. Those red eyes darkened with intensity.

"Remember this, I want you to keep Sera away from what is happening at Cross Academy." Reino had made a promise to protect her daughter from the destiny his wife had once told him. So, he will do everything within his power to do that. Even if, Sera will be most likely to rebel or be angered about his actions. "Do what you must."

"It's amazing this feeling. Perhaps, this is why you are also able to smile so bravely. Because, we both know we are not alone in all of these."

The walk towards the infirmary. He found it very pleasant which was odd. There were no words exchanged between him and Daitokuji. Silence ruled between them during that interval. Somehow, it was the most comfortable moment of his life as he held her hand with his. He truly liked this gentle feeling that soothed his senses effortlessly. No one in his family has the ability to completely calm all of his troubles with just a touch or dispel such uneasiness with a few words. This white-haired female was truly something else and not because of her heritage or anything. It is because of what she was becoming in the canvas of his life. Her meaning to him.

Upon entering the infirmary and locating Nightless, they were welcomed with a sigh of her stretching her limbs and asking a question of who brought her here. One moment, she was crying so vividly. Now, she appears calm about her situation. There was no doubt that Nightless was truly a strong individual. This alone was worthy of admiration in his personal opinion. Before he could say anything, Daitokuji had released his hand which brought a sense of emptiness to him. He was rather surprised on how it seemed so natural for him to hold her like that. However, this subtle void was put aside as he watched the exchanged between the two girls.

Apology escaped Daitokuji's lips as she embraced Nightless. He could see the surprise on the female prefect's face. It was to be expected as it is well-known that the white-haired female was not keen on being affectionate or being touched by others so recklessly and without her permission. In which, why was he able to hold and touch Daitokuji like that without much warning? He wondered if this meant because they were friends. Thinking about it, he had decided to steer clear of Daitokuji and even said his goodbye on that. Somehow, he wondered if that decision of his will still hold ground.

Hearing Nightless' response and words, Khalid knew well that the prefect was sad and was still mourning. No one can get over a loss that quickly unless there was not much of a concern to begin with. However, Nightless was not the kind to simply grieve on the side. She was also dutiful and knew she had to face and stand for her to live. Still, she will not cover her feelings of melancholy or the pain she felt from Watoshi's death. For in the end, the sadness of that will never fade. It will linger but never disappears. It was also rather ironic when he and Daitokuji came here to comfort her. But, it seemed to be the other way around. They were being comforted by her ability to stand relentlessly.

As if noticing the atmosphere around the three of them lightened, the nurse spoke answering Nightless' first inquiry. It elicited a very awkward and funny response from the prefect. After all, Nightless was known to be a vixen but never had any concrete relationships. Moreover, seeing she hardly remembered the presence of Hiiragi appearing out of nowhere. She was not at the best condition to recall. "I don't believe you are engaged to get married, Nightless-san." He offered to assure the confused girl of the impossibility of the scenario. Offering a small smile, he glanced momentarily to Daitokuji and then looked at Nightless once more. "A man named Takeshi Hiiragi came to aid us. I believe he came from the Hunter Association."

It was not a secret that the female prefect was part of the renowned Hunter Family who was also at the helm of the Association. Waiting for any reactions from Nightless, he seen none so he continued on. "We asked him to bring you here while we ensure that the chaos had been pacified." Looking at the direction where the nurse noted Hiiragi being a boyfriend, he wondered what the male had done to garner such a comment. Needless to say, he seemed to have put a certain impression to assure that Nightless was comfortable which made him grateful to that new acquaintance. Although, he noted something odd about Hiiragi. Perhaps, he would want to try and learn more about that. For now, he would put that aside.

"Inoue-san had handled containing the situation. I don't think there is much you needed to do." Khalid noted. This was very much true as the attackers had been taken care of and from what he could observe. The erasure of memories were now underway. So, he was also pretty much certain that the Headmaster had been informed. There is little they could do now but to rest and let the transition of this day come with the awakening of tomorrow. "If you require information, I could give you little as Tsukumo-san disappeared when the attack began." His voice darkened a bit which will be notable as the pure-blood had always been polite and bright in his tone.

"No one had seen her since." Khalid noted in dismay as he lowered his eyes for a moment before regaining his usual demeanor. He gave Nightless a small smile and then approached the prefect. Placing his hands on her shoulders, he gently coaxed her to sit down on the bed. "For now, rest. Because tomorrow, we have to face it." He knew that Nightless understood what he meant as he then walked towards Daitokuji but not before looking over his shoulder to see the female prefect. "You're not alone in this. You know this don't you?" After saying that, he took Daitokuji's hand once more into his and left the room to allow the prefect more time to rest.

Once out of the area, Khalid looked at Daitokuji and knew this was also applicable to her. She might be a pure-blood turned human. However, she was undoubtedly human right now. She must be very tired right now. "You need to rest as well." As if to lightened the situation more, he smiled awkwardly as he looked at his current choice of clothes. Well, he was still wearing the gown albeit, the wig had been removed earlier. "I also need to change my attire. I don't think I can be a convincing force with me wearing a dress now." Squeezing her hand ever so gently, he put up a warm smile for her. He was really thankful for her presence. With his free hand, he placed it on her cheek. Thinking about of being far away from her, he was not pleased about it at all. "I wonder when it began for you to mean so much to me."

"Don't be dismayed at goodbyes, a farewell is necessary before you can meet again and meeting again, after moments or lifetimes, is certain for those who are friends."

Yukiko merely listened as Khalid explained the situation to Serafine. She had tilted her head in confusion at first when the girl spoke of being engaged and then marriage. Since when did having a boyfriend mean you were to be engaged as well? Truly the way humans and their rituals of courting were completely different than that of vampires. Or at least that is what she had seen with her family. There was no dating period, it was merely I desire you and only you and then they were wed. She shook that from her thoughts. It wasn't something that concerned herself, however; with these new emotions, she wasn't sure of anything any more. Love and things related were not exactly the highest to-do things on Yukiko's list. It wasn't something she yearned for or craved. It was just an emotion that had yet to find its way to her.

She wasn't pro-actively searching for it though so when, and if it came, she would try and be prepared for it. Perhaps...she paused in her thoughts as she glanced towards the blue-haired pure-blood who was guiding Serafine back to the bed. It was obvious she needed rest, they all did. Not to mention a new change of clothing. Yukiko was still covered in blood that was now being caked onto the kimono, and she could still feel it in her hair. It wasn't something to be extremely upset about, however; the kimono held a bit of sentimental value to it. Although she destroyed it by tearing it to make a make-shift tourniquet for her wound, the blood would be the hardest to wash out. An inaudible sigh left her lips before she turned her attention outside. The moon was still hanging brightly outside, casting a dull light out on the events that had transpired. It seemed almost surreal, as if this were all just a play for the students.

It was Halloween after all, and such an event wouldn't be outside the regime of horror. A lot of students had been terribly injured, some murdered. This was truly a nightmare for all who had survived, however; with the aide of the night class, they will not remember this night. But Yukiko would. This was something, no matter how many times her memory was wiped, that would never truly leave her. Her friend had died protecting another, Kaiya escaped from her grasp, and all because she denied Kaiya the pure-blood who was now holding her hand again. There it was, the familiar warmth being exuded from the male. The one steady beating of her heart had jumped slightly and felt as if it were trying to escape from her rib-cage. It truly was a foreign feeling to her, but it wasn't something she despised. She actually enjoyed it.

Even when she had declared that no one could touch her unless she gave permission first, she found it oddly enjoyable when her hand was holding his ever so gently. Had she bumped her head during the tousle with the vampires and with Kaiya? With her free hand, she slid it through her hair, checking for the metaphorical bump and frowned when there wasn't one. So she hadn't injured her head. She was only brought out of her thoughts when Khalid spoke. Rest? She was slightly tired, but she didn't need rest. She wanted to stay with Serafine, or even with him. How odd for her to desire such a thing. And it only intensified when his hand was upon her cheek. Grasping hold of his hand with hers, she closed her eyes and allowed her head to lean further into his hold. His next statement, however, threw her completely off guard. She opened her eyes and stared at him.

"For me, it began the moment you became my friend," she stated in a serious tone. In a way, it was slightly true. Only when she had declared him her friend had these foreign emotions began to bubble within her. She had thought it normal at first, however, she did find it a bit strange that these foreign emotions were never present when Yamato became her friend. This was completely different, and although they confused her, she didn't mind them. "As long as Khalid wishes it, I will stay by your side. I will not leave unless you command it of me, however," she continued before pausing, removing her face from his grasp and intertwining his fingers with her own.

"I do not know if I will be able to," she concluded. She was never one to lie about something. Everything she ever said was the complete truth and because of it, she was brutally honest. She wasn't one to sugar-coat her words for anyone, and that had been proven on more than one occasion. It was one of the reasons why she didn't have friends to begin with. She would always insult someone or say something they did not like. But this, she meant in every way. Even if he told her to leave him now, she wasn't sure if she could. Slowly, it felt as if hooks had managed to become a part of her body and these people were becoming those hooks. She wanted to always be there for them, for him. And she was utterly confused by it all.

"I know. I read your report." Takeshi turned towards Reino while whipping the last of the blood from his face onto his black pants. The only thing that made it clear he had been in a battle was the fact that he was shirtless with a few quick healing bruises on his chest, the smudged blood stains below his right eye, and the dried blood on his left hand. He was glad his report had already gotten there, last time the dumb bird took three days. "I'm also informed about your catch. I will handle it personally." Takeshi tensed. They both knew what that Vampire might know, but it was clear there was no arguing in the matter. If anyone could get the bastard to speak, it would be Reino. Takeshi sat down in one of the chairs in front of the older mans desk, forcing himself to relax a bit more than he would anywhere else. Takeshi trusted Reino more than anyone else as the moment, he wouldn't want anyone else other than himself and Reino speaking to Rin.

"I have informed the Headmaster about your transfer to Cross Academy." Takeshi took the transfer papers with a in-different look set on his face. He should have seen this one coming, part of his did, but it still was a little unsettling. He should have known through, that he would be sent to that Academy, he shouldn't have let that boy die. "You will probably be chosen as the new prefect and aid my daughter Sera in her duties." Now he had to play prefect? Weren't there more important things that had to be done? Like finding the bastard that had killed his family. There's no arguing with him. He's already made up his mind. Takeshi sighed and leaned back slightly, his eyes scanning over the paper silently. "Remember this, I want you to keep Sera away from what is happening at Cross Academy." His daughter? Why would he even let the girl go to that Academy? It was clear it was most likely more dangerous than a prison filled with escaped convicts, did the Academy get attack a lot? Or was that a one time thing? If it was going to happen again, Onyx would have to be better per-paired.

"Do what you must." The silence stretched for a moment. Do what he must? Do what he must to keep Reino's daughter safe. So that was his new mission. It wasn't a bad one, and it wasn't one he was willing to turn away. He had already helped the girl once, gotten a good look at her and saved her appearance into the many files in his head, if need be, he would be able to sneak around her and keep an eye on her at all times, keep all harm away from her, it didn't sound like a hard job, but these were often the hardest ones. "As you wish. I will be taking Koji, Ishi, and Dai with me." Takeshi stood up and headed towards the door. It was true when said that he rarely split away from his team, and that they all couldn't stand not being around him. "They'll be useful backup if another attack takes place, I'll send a letter to the Headmaster immediately. Koji and Dai will be in the Day Class with me, but Ishi will be in the Night Class." Plans were already forming in his head. He would have Ishi keep a watchful eye on the Pure-Blood, and most likely he could get Koji and Dai to watch over Sera and the white haired human while he was un-able to do so himself. They would all serve as extra eyes and ears. "We'll leave before dawn." He turned to door knob half way before stopping and pausing for a moment.

"My catch, Rin, had my Black Flames within him. A effective torture method would be to bring ice down onto his skin. It would awaken the flames and boil that area until the ice is removed." A small knowning smrik spread out on his face, through his back was still to the older man. Takeshi had used this method before, he was the one to develop it. It was for the cases when the catch's were more than tight lipped, it was for the ones that refused to speak a single word. "It can be used as a last resort, but I wouldn't suggest giving him Ice water to drink." He left that open, knowing fully that the other man would understand the effect Ice water would have from within. It would cause in near death, if your lucky, that is. "If you get any information, please, send for me." Takeshi's voice was low for a moment. It was clear he didn't want to be left out on anything that was presented to him, he wanted to be able to avenge his family. "I will send a report every week. Farewell." With that, Takeshi walked out of the office and to his own room so he could pack.

"When silence descends, all I could truly do is wait again for the time when I can say, welcome home."

Tamesis explained to her the details of what happened when she had emotionally broke down to care about anything else than Saken who was in her arms at that time. So, everything had been taken care of. She was thankful to hear the worse was over. It was true as he had said, there was little she could do since all the contingencies had been processed. But, it irked her that she was not much of help. Moreover, she became a concern when it was not supposed to be that way. She still needed to get more strong than she is now. It is a must as she would enter the world of the hunters once she graduated. Despite, her father and brother's insistence to remain as she is, a normal girl.

It made her wonder if she was just a normal girl, would she be able to stop such sad things from happening? Before, she was normal but she lost her mother. Now, she was not that normal. Still, she lost her partner. So, there was one thing she could comprehend from all of this. She had to grow stronger that she could no longer be weak. For those she cherishes, she wanted to be strong enough to protect them and never see another life fade in front of her eyes. She did not want to be helpless and be left behind. It was far too sad and painful.

Anyway, the pure-blood also informed her about the one who took her to the infirmary. It was a man named Takeshi Hiiragi who had become her boyfriend. Good enough, it was just a misunderstanding. She knew the person not on a personal basis but by reputation. He was the one who was second to her Father and a formidable rival for her brother in terms of skills. That person was truly indeed from the Association. She knew for a fact that the hunters will inadvertently lend a hand to this situation. Somehow, she was not convinced it will be left at that. Knowing her father, the man was very protective of her as if she was a precious china that can fall apart with the slightest touch. When in truth, she was not that fragile at all.

Trying to recall the events, she searched for any images of this Takeshi Hiiragi. Soon, she came up with an unknown face in her memory. That must be him. They had quite the first meeting. She cried in front of him. Releasing a sigh about this, she watched as Tamesis told her to rest by guiding her back to bed. She did not made it much of a fight as she followed. The pure-blood even made a point that she was not alone. She knew that well enough as she gave a small smile and a nod. "I hear you princess." She teased lightly as Tamesis was still wearing a gown. Once the two were out, she looked at her current appearance.

She was still wearing her costume which was supposed to be white. It had now become red, a stain that did not come from her. She touched a portion of her kimono and her eyes reflected sadness. "Saken..." She whispered with gentleness as silence loomed over her form. After a while, she decided to take her much needed rest at her room. Better yet, she will get a bath and have herself cleaned up. The nurses did little to stop her as she seemed okay and really, Sera was someone who no one can stop once she sets her mind on something. So, they simply gave way to the female prefect who was emotionally standing firmly on a floor full of broken glass.

Reaching her room, she decided to take a shower to remove the blood on her skin and even some which had made its way to her hair. When she was done, she was now wearing an old black sailor uniform. It was her mother's. She did not mean to as she had subconsciously reached for it. Anyway, she could not rest yet as what Tamesis wanted. There was still something she needed to do before this day ends. She left her room and went to the portion of the Sun Dormitory where the boys stay. Walking through the hallways, she finally found what she was looking for. She hold the door knob and fortunately, it was opened. When she entered, she looked around the room. This was where Saken lived in his stay at the academy.

Seeing his desk, she approached it and saw his sketch book. She opened it and looked at the drawings. Saken was a good artist but it also showed his fascination with cute animals. There were drawings of Orpei, Bibi, and other cuddly animals. On occasion, she could see some sketches of the night class, where Tamesis and Inoue are prominent. Then, there would be Daitokuji with Bibi. Reaching the final pages, she found different portraits of herself. Saken was also sketching her. "So sly he is." But at the last page, she cannot help but feel that her eyes were about to get teary. There she was looking at the sunset with smile and in his writing, my beloved sunset maiden.

"Saken...." She muttered in sadness and regret as she held the sketch book closed to her. It was then she heard something moving at the corner. That was probably what she truly came here for. Approaching it, she lowered herself to the floor and reached out her hand. "Come here, little puppy." It took a a while before the said puppy came forward. Apprehension was natural as the puppy smelled her hand. Then, it went towards her as she picked it up. The puppy nuzzled her face as if it knew what happened with the one who was taking care of it. Saken did say it was smart. "I'll be the one to take care of you now. I hope you don't mind. I'll be calling you Saken."The puppy barked in agreement and then, she felt her tears finally falling once more.

Reino released a long sigh as he leaned on his chair and looked at the ceiling once Takeshi had left. He knew well what the boy was going through and the information he needed to accomplish that one goal. There was no way he would stop the boy with the justice called revenge. He did the same thing when his wife was taken away from him. At some point, he also wished for that boy to find a place of peace. Cross Academy is truly a place in between which makes it a fragile target to many. But, it was also a place of serenity in one way or another. A chance to feel a bit normal. He wanted Takeshi to experience that and knowing he will be there to keep an eye for his daughter, it was killing two birds with one stone.

In any case, he has an interview scheduled. He only wondered if the applicant will last through the series of his questions. At the same time, Takeshi did provide a certain leverage in his favor. Standing from his chair, he took one last look at the family picture. "Veronica watched over them." With that, he soon exited his office to deal with a certain good-for-nothing noble lackey. Just like that, the night soon came to an end and new sun rises from the horizon. A new day was upon them all.

"In the land of unknown futures and broken dreams, there was one thing that is certain. The vision which is you which I will never be able to forget nor would I ever want to."

It was a nice feeling to touch her like this. Even more so, he was glad to have her response so positively to his gestures. It may be viewed odd but he liked feeling her skin against his. This was something new for him. Never once did he desire to hold someone like this as much as he was feeling now. The warmth which he finds completely soothing and pleasing to him. He softly smiled at Daitokuji as the girl responded to his words. The moment they became friends. He remembered it was rather shaky. Before this event, he had respected her wishes for him to stay away. "I believed I said goodbye to you. You wanted me to stay away." He reminded her as she reinstated that she will stay by his side even when he does not want her to be anymore.

He looked at their entwined fingers with satisfaction. "I''m glad because now I can get to say Hello to you." Looking at her, he gently tucked some loose strands behind her ears with his free hand. He even wiped some dirt and blood which splattered on her from the fight she had underwent. "You don't need to worry. I will never want you to go away." Leaning closely to her face, he allowed their forehead to touch once more. It was comforting gesture which he had instinctively done out of specific feelings. "So, please don't ever tell me to stay away from you again."

After stating that, he noticed that Daitokuji was still not ready to leave his side. At the same time, he was feeling the same thing. He thought for a moment and then nodded to himself in agreement. "I want you to see something." Pulling away from her, he then tugged her hand to a certain direction. It was directed to the gardens. He was really having a hard time moving around with this ball gown. Really, he wondered how women managed to walk around in these kind of clothes as if it was nothing. Anyway, he would have to endure it. After all, Daitokuji was worse than him. She was covered in blood and even ripped a portion of her kimono.

Soon, they arrived the destination. Khalid pointed at the rose archways which he had created by him alone. It was something he had intended to show his sister Keilani to ease the girl's temperament. However, he was also a bit glad that Keilani had left beforehand and was angry with him. If she was not, his sister might have done something to sneak in during the ball. He could not live with himself if anything happens to Keilani. After all, he was his precious sister even if he cannot respond to her affections in a way she wanted to. "I'm not sure if you are fond of roses. I made it for my sister." He noted which made him think, Daitokuji has yet to see Keilani. Thinking about it, he wondered if Keilani and Yukiko would get along.

"It's useless to create something for my mortal enemy!" That was right, Orpei was flying above them watching everything with a close eye. The pink familiar was still not find with anyone getting too close to his Master. However, he could give this white-haired girl a degree of leniency. Khalid looked at Orpei who soon landed on his head with those red eyes showing mild irritation. "Orpei, she is my sister." This made the familiar pout and huffed in strained understanding which made the pure-blood sigh before looking at Daitokuji again. "Next time, I want to create something you like."

Releasing her hand, Khalid went towards to one of the nearby rose bushes. He gently plucked one. Fortunately, the ones being grown at the garden were the ones without thorns. He then looked back at Yukiko with those warm and gentle blue eyes of his. "Here." He started as he placed it on her white hair as an accessory. It suited her perfectly as he looked at her with such admiration. She was beautiful. She always had. "You are beautiful, Yukiko." Orpei immediately intervened on this. If it was possible for the pink familiar to blow a whistle, he would have. Orpei hovered in between the two. "Why do you not make something for me? And why are you giving her a rose and not me?"

The pure-blood released an awkward laughter and looked at Yukiko with apology. "Calm down, Orpei. You were never interested in my works before." The familiar blinked at this fact which was true and tried to save face. "N--Not true!" Khalid shook his head at this and patted Orpei's head in an affectionate manner in which the familiar relented soon after wards. Orpei flew to the side as the pure-blood looked at Yukiko. "I really want to know more about you, Yukiko." Then again, Orpei was really not a patient familiar to begin with. "I'm hungry!" Khalid shook his head once more and smiled at Yukiko apologetically.

"We can see each other whenever we want." After saying that, he leaned forward once more. It would appear he would connect their foreheads again but, it was not so. This time, he placed a innocent kiss on her forehead. "Rest, because we will have each other from now on. Come, I'll walk you to your dormitory." He stated as he reached out his hand to her. If she took it or not, Khalid had decided to accompany Yukiko in which Orpei was positively displeased about. Well, there was not much of helping that. Once there, they separated ways amicably letting this day end on that note.

Upon returning to his room, he immediately removed himself from the gown and cleaned himself. Afterwards, he once more drank his regular meal of tomato juice. Somehow, it was not able to quench his hunger like it used to. On Orpei's account, the pink furball was now munching on some sweets. After his meal, he laid down on his bed and went to sleep. It was because he wanted to wake up to a day where he will be able to see Yukiko and even note how irritating his bangs were. This was quite surprising and fascinating for him to have someone completely cover the large piece of his canvas. Somehow, he does not regret it at all. As such, he had fallen asleep. Soon, tomorrow came as the sun rises.

"If there was no future, I wouldn't mind. Because the only thing that matters right now is the present and what it can bring."

Was it wrong to cherish this feeling? This foreign feeling that was slowly taking hold of her? The reason: the boy that was currently holding her hand. It was because of him that these new-found feelings were becoming a mystery to her and ever so persistent. They were slowly causing the rapid beating of her heart, the confusion of her mind, and the flushing of her face. These were all new feelings for her, and she wasn't exactly sure how to respond to them. It is why she said what she had, because it was true. She wouldn't know if she would be able to stay away from the pure-blood. He was becoming a much integral part of her life and she hadn't realized it quite yet. It was true, she did tell him to stay away, and that she didn't want to see him. But in doing so, she had caused a sadness to swell within her that she never wanted to feel again.

"Never. I will never say those words again," she whispered, almost as if the words were as delicate as glass and would shatter if she said them any louder, allowing him to rest his forehead against hers. She stared at him as he moved some of her hair and tucked it behind her ears. He even managed to wipe some of the grime off of her face, which she was slightly thankful for. The dried liquid was beginning to irritate her, and although she didn't want to leave his side just yet, she would have to eventually. Then, he stated he wanted to show her something, pulling her along as they walked towards a particular area. Although she won't admit it out loud, but it was rather amusing to watch him as he struggled a bit to move in the gown he was still wearing. Although she wanted to smile, she frowned. He shouldn't have been in that gown to begin with. It was just...wrong in her mind.

But then again it was Halloween and he wasn't the only male participant dressed as a female. There were a few Day Class students who were dressed almost similar to the Tamesis pure-blood and even still it didn't quite sit right with Yukiko. She wouldn't mind...her thoughts paused as they approached an archway. It was a beautiful sight to behold, and as such, Yukiko did not take her eyes off of the display. Even as Khalid spoke, her eyes remained glued to the archway. Granted, flowers and things like this were not truly her cup of tea, however; she had grown to appreciate the Gardening Club and their ability to turn something so dull and lifeless into something truly awe inspiring. She turned to glance at him when he mentioned that he was the one that created it. It was meant for his sister. So he had a sibling, and a sister at that.

How odd that the two were not together, or were they? It wasn't an uncommon thing within pure-blood families, that much she knew. She had even experienced it slightly when her father's sister presented her son to him in hopes of keeping the Daitokuji bloodline within the family. She was grateful at the time when her father had rejected the notion. Of course the reason behind that was still rather vague and unknown, but she didn't mind. The thought of him with someone else, however; caused a slight pain in her being. As such, she frowned slightly. What was that feeling? Was that...jealousy? Was she jealous of someone? How could that be so? She pushed the thoughts away and returned her attention to Khalid. "I think she'll love it once she sees it," she stated, smiling softly in the process. When had smiling become so easy to her? "They are lovely," she continued as she returned her sight to the archway. She only glanced at Khalid when he spoke once more and placed a rose in her hair.

She watched his hands as they laced around the rose, intertwining it in her hair before pulling away. His next statement caused her to tilt her head slightly and rose a brow in confusion. Beautiful? Surely he was being chaff. There was nothing beautiful about her, or at least in her own eyes there wasn't. "You have an odd eye for beauty then if that is what you think," she replied, but it was said in a tone of embarrassment. She was grateful to the familiar as he intervened. She turned her head slightly away from the pure-blood so he couldn't see the faint rise of pink hues rising in her cheeks. His next statement caused her to return her attention to him. He wanted to know more about her? What else was there to know?

She hadn't lived an interesting or eventful life. It was dull, plain, and just there. At least in her own opinion that is how it was. She truly didn't think anything of her life and it was odd to find someone who stated that they wanted to know more about her. Well, there was one way for him to know, but that would require a great deal of trust to be given. Whether she was willing to do that, she would sort through it once she had proper rest. As of right now, her heart was beating terribly fast and she was trying to calm it down. They have each other from now on. Why did that sound pleasant to her? She was but a mere human now, but spending the rest of her time with him, with the others, it was a...nice feeling. Then, he leaned forward, as if to place his forehead once again against hers. She winced slightly instead, when lips were placed upon her forehead. It was a rather odd face to make as her eyes had closed almost as if to flinch. When she opened her eyes, he had a smile and offered his hand to her. It felt as if the pieces that were missing inside of her were finally being filled.

"From now and forever," she replied as she slipped her hand into his. The walk to her dormitory had been pleasant, despite the nights occurrences, and she found the solace she had been searching for. When they bid each other goodbye, Yukiko went straight for her room and immediately cleansed herself of the dirt and blood from her body. Once she was satisfied, she laid in her bed, her crimson eyes staring up at the ceiling in the process. This night had revealed much to her and as such, she couldn't sleep. Eventually, the lullaby of slumber consumed her and she slept with a dreamless night.

The next day came all to quickly for Yukiko's comfort. Because of the lack of sleep, she was still very tired, however; she felt in better spirits. She had managed to keep herself from making a snide remark to a few of the students and she participated in a group project. It was awkward, but somehow she managed to pull through it. Yamato had visited her during a class break and had given her some insight as to what her father had told her that day. It was odd, but if the words Kaiya had spoken, and her father, then returning to her heritage was still possible. The matter of how had yet to be discovered and it was a bit frustrating. She knew the process, her father had tried it multiple times. She had to be bitten by a pure-blood and then offered their blood to break the barrier placed upon their vampire side. Only then would she be able to return. But it never worked. No matter who bit her, no matter who's blood she had, she always remained as a human.

"This is frustrating," she stated as she stirred her food. It was time for lunch and as such she had made her own. She made a few more boxes, but she couldn't eat them all. She was going to offer Serafine one, but she hadn't seen the female prefect since last night. She was worried slightly but knew the girl would be fine. She was as strong as any one, both emotionally and physically, if she were to say so herself, and Yukiko never much thought of it. So, she had a few boxes of lunch laid about her as she stared at them. Perhaps Yamato would join her soon again and he could take one off of her hands, or she might run into Serafine during her patrol. After all, she didn't need four boxes of lunch. No matter, she could always leave them with someone else. Not that she really cared who ate it, just as long as it didn't go to waste. Yukiko prided herself in being able to cook. She didn't want it to go to waste.
