Setting
Amiras's home is on the outskirts of the city away from most of the business of the inner city. Treelines separate her home from her neighbors, giving her home a good bit of privacy. It has two spacious bedrooms and two baths both located on the second floor of the house. Downstairs along with the living room and kitchen there is a study and a door to a porch on the side of the house next to a sun room near the back. It has a decent sized backyard.
Phoenix looked over at Lance when he spoke and she smiled. "Morning, you cutie," she teased. She set down the outfit she'd picked and went to the bed, going around to his side and sitting down by him so she could reach over and cup his cheek. "You're so sexy when you've just woken up. If I didn't have to go to work I'd just keep you here in my bed all day long," she giggled.
Lance chuckled a little when she said she would keep him in bed all day if she could. " I would not mind that. But I should probably think about getting ready for work eventually..." He said with a little but of a sigh. He kissed her cheek and then got up and stretched a little, his hands hitting the ceiling. " Oh well good morning to you too ceiling..." He mumbled and then shook his head.
Phoenix giggled when he said he wouldn't mind her keeping him there all day. "One day. You, me, all night, all day," she told him with a smirk. "Did you wanna come hop in the shower with me? I'm pretty sure we both need a thorough cleaning after last night," she said with a laugh. "And plus I usually like to do evening showers but I didn't really get a chance yesterday. Or, you know, you can wait around out here. Your call," she teased before she started to walk towards the door.
Lance smirked a little too. " Sounds like a plan dear." He said and then laughed a little bit. " Uh...get in the shower with my beyond sexy girlfriend, or sit around and stare at the ceiling....hmm.." he said, pretending to think about it. He got up and walked to her, giving her ass a quick slap. " Don't even gotta ask me that question you silly woman. Of course I want to join you."
Phoenix laughed at his words, shaking her head a bit. "Damn right you're gonna get in the shower with your beyond sexy girlfriend," she teased. She smirked when he slapped her ass, taking his hand and pulling him to the washroom with her. When they were done their shower, they headed back into the bedroom to get dressed. Phoenix strapped her favourite dagger to her thigh like she always did, glancing over at the end table where all their concealed weapons had ended up. "We're a damn armoury," she said with a shake of her head. "With what the two of us take off in order to have sex we could arm a small militia."
When their shower was over Lance walked back to the bedroom and started to get dressed too, strapping things to himself as he went along getting dressed. He couldnt help but laugh at the comment she made. "Well, I'll be the head of a kingdoms top weapons manufacturer, and you're a spy. Either one of us would be silly not to carry these things around on us." He said and then went to grab his one dagger and didnt see it. "Uh, babe, did you see where my other dagger went?" He asked, slipping on his glasses and looking around for it. He got down and looked under the bed. "Oh, there it is, must have gotten knocked off the end table..." He said as he reached to grab it.
Phoenix laughed a little when he pointed out how silly they would be not to carry weapons on them and she shrugged a bit. "Hey, I wasn't complaining. Just thought it was funny," she told him as she got dressed, also putting her concealed weapons in place as she went. When he asked if she knew where his other dagger was, she frowned and shook her head. "I haven't seen it," she said. She blinked when he started reaching for it under the bed. "Be careful down there, babe. I've got a sword under that side of the bed and it's kinda precarious. It's a bitch to get back in place if you knock it out of position," she said.
Lance chuckled. "I know. If you did complain I'd have to look at you funny. " He said and then as he was reaching he laughed a little bit. "Dont worry, I wont. I'm far too used to the one under my bed back at the villa." He said and grabbed his dagger and strapped it to himself before pulling his shirt on.
Phoenix kept getting dressed while he reached for the dagger, blinking slightly when she heard his words. "God, do I ever love you," she muttered with a shake of her head, and then blinked when she realized what she had said. Shit. She had just said it for the first time and it had been so anticlimactic. She hadn't even really been looking at him, it had been more under her breath and to herself than to him... She felt her face going red and she focused on zipping up her skirt, hoping maybe he wouldn't have heard it so she could say it again some time when the moment was right.
Lance had just finished getting his shirt on when he heard what Nixy had said. He walked over behind her and held her hips as he leaned down and kissed her cheek. "I love you too." He said softly and then let go of her. "Now, lets go eat bagels. Cant have you being late to pick up Amira." He said as he slipped his shoes on. Their first I love yous turned out to be very casual, but it seemed to be fitting enough, and he did love her, he just hadnt been too sure he should say so until now.
Phoenix blushed as Lance came over and held her hips, smiling a bit when she heard his words. She couldn't help but to giggle a bit when he said they should go eat bagels and she nodded. "Bagels it is," she said, going and putting her own shoes on as he did before taking his hand and heading out to the kitchen with him. She grabbed the bag of bagels and took a couple out, looking over at him. "Heated, toasted, or cold?" she asked.
Lance happily went downstairs with phoenix and watched as she pulled the bagels out. "Toasted of course. Who eats a bagel cold? Do you? I think I can probably live with that. I might look at you funny though, fair warning." He said and then blinked. "But if I ever look at you funny without my glasses on, thats just because I cant see." He chuckled.
Phoenix giggled softly and started one of the bagels toasting. The other, she just heated up, not toasting it. "I don't eat them cold, that's weird as hell. I like them warm, but I don't really enjoy the crispiness of them when they're toasted," she told him with a shrug. When he said that he couldn't see her if he looked at her funny without his glasses, she giggled. "I've definitely figured that one out, babe," she teased. "What'd you want to drink?"
Lance sighed. "Oh good, that is super weird. I wouldnt want to eat a cold bagel." He said and shook his head. " Oh good. The last girlfriend I had always swore I was just looking at her funny for no reason for months until she put my glasses on and realized how blind I am." He said with a chuckle. "I'll just do water, please."
Phoenix giggled when Lance said that eating a cold bagel was weird and she shook her head. "Some people do it," she said, shrugging a bit. She smirked a bit, pouring him a glass of water and bringing it over to him. She gently took his glasses off his face, giggling a bit as she put them on herself. She blinked, slowly looking around. "What the fuck..." she said, taking them off and gently sliding them back on his face. "I have no idea how you function. No idea at all," she said, shaking her head.
Lance watched her take his glasses, taking a sip of his water as she put them on. He couldnt stop laughing at her first comment. "I told you I couldnt really see father than five feet in front of me, and thats a pretty generous estimate too." He said and then shrugged. "You get used to it. The glasses definitely help, like a lot." He teased a little.
Phoenix just stared at him for a second before going to pour herself a glass of juice. "But what if you're in a fight and your glasses come off? Because let me tell you, if I was fighting someone with glasses on, my first instinct would be to knock those things off and take advantage of their blindness," she said. "And what'd you want on your bagel?" she asked, since they were almost done.
Lance shrugged a little bit. "I learned to fight with them off so its not really a huge deal if they do get knocked off since thats what im used to anyways. My father took that into account before the training began. " He said and then thought about what to have on his bagel. "Uhh... Put whatever you like on your bagel on mine too." He said.
Phoenix nodded understandingly when he explained that his father had made sure he'd learn to fight without his glasses. "That makes sense. It'd suck if you couldn't fight with them off," she said. She got out the cream cheese and put a little on the bagels, and then set them on plates and brought them over to the table. She handed him his and sat down with him, smiling. "Enjoy," she said before taking a bite.
Lance nodded a little bit. "Mhm. He wasnt about to have sons who inherited the family business and didnt know how to use the weapons we sold, so Aiden and I spent a lot of time training with him." He said and then sat down at the table with his bagel and smiled before taking a bite and making an Mmm noise. Bagels had to be one of the best things he'd eaten since he left home.
Phoenix smiled and nodded when he said that his father hadn't wanted them to inherit the family business if they didn't know how to use the product. "Makes sense," she replied softly, nodding a bit. "I'm glad my father never taught me to take over the family business. Drugs and prostitutes and murder...no thank you. It's bad enough he had me luring people in when I was little, or that he fucking used me for transactions and shit..." Her voice suddenly trailed off as she realized she still hadn't gotten around to telling Lance about that part of her life, how her father had given away her virginity to business associates as part of a deal. She awkwardly looked down at her bagel as she munched on it.
Lance munched on his bagel as Phoenix started talking about not wanting to be a part of the family business. He was glad for that too she had done well to turn them in. He raised an eyebrow about using her for transactions. But she was looking awkwardly at her bagel and wasnt saying anything else about it. "Well, i'm glad that you went and became a spy instead for sure." He said softly.
Phoenix nodded her agreement when he said that he was glad she had become a spy instead. "Yeah...they were shitty people. I didn't want any part in it any more," she said softly. "Especially once it started affecting me directly. I couldn't deal with that. I don't regret going to the King, because it gave me reassurance that my parents and their friends could never hurt anyone again."
Lance nodded slightly. "You definitely did they right thing there, now they cant hurt anyone else anymore. That and im sure the crime in Austemior as a whole was reduced a good damn bit." He said softly. This was kind of a sad conversation for breakfast, but at least they could talk about things like this and things not get super weird and awkward.
Phoenix smiled over at him when he told her that she had done the right thing and that crime as a whole had probably been reduced. "I damn well hope so. I hope any would-be criminals thinking about getting into that stuff saw what happened and decided against it, too," she said. "Talking about it kinda makes me wonder what happened to them. Maybe the next time I'm in Austemoir I'll ask Sophia about it. If they're alive, I could go see them and rub my happiness in their faces," she joked, a smile on her lips.
