Gamaya was on the living room floor, lying on her back with her knees up to her chest and Danonte balancing on her lower legs. She carefully set him down on the floor when she heard the knock and she got up, going to peek out the window. She was relieved when she saw that it was just Amell, and she unlocked and opened the door, smiling up at him. "Hey," she said. Behind her, Danonte had toddler out after her and he shrieked with excitement when he saw Amell, running towards him with his arms stretched out.
Amell saw Gamaya peek out the window and smirked. She was a very smart and obedient kind of woman. Her smarts were going to keep her and the kid safe, that was for sure. When she answered the door he smiled, "Hey..." He said and then looked at his buddy running and scooped him up. "Hey buddy! I see you have held down the fort pretty well. So proud." He said and chuckled before poking his cheek. "I came because I smelt food and two preggo women in one small shop who are both hungry scare me... so... you gotta help a large guy out." He said and looked down at her.
Gamaya grinned as Danonte ran into Amell's arms, giggling as the large man scooped him up and said how proud he was of him. She loved seeing the way Amell interacted with her son. It did hurt somewhat, since it reminded her so much of what a wonderful father Kallias had been, but she wouldn't let Amell know that. She didn't want him to think that he made her sad by playing with her son - because really, he didn't. She loved that Danonte had a male role model to look up to, since Istrain and Cherono really weren't the best men to aspire to be. "I can definitely help you with that, large man," she told him, nodding for him to follow before she headed into the kitchen.
Amell tickled Dan when he was motioned to move and he did so, walking in, and then locking the door behind him before going into the kitchen and meeting Gamaya. "So I got Yora to agree to apologize, but I think she knew she went too far... and then I got her off your 15 minutes target and got her onto me when I told her I hadn't had any relations since I was twenty-three and now I am thirty-six so... thirteen years... beats fifteen minutes." He chuckled and sat with the kid. "I told her it was out of choice... now she thinks I am weird..." He sighed but smirked.
Gamaya looked over at Amell as she retrieved three of the boxes of food she had packed up and put away already, blinking when he said Yoranda knew she'd gone too far. "I figured she'd know that. Yora is usually pretty good about apologizing when she's a bitch," she said with a bit of a shrug, bringing the food over and setting it down on the table. Her brown eyes widened when he said that he hadn't had sex in thirteen years. "You... really? Wow," she said softly. She quirked an eyebrow when he said that he had told Yoranda that it was a choice. "So... does that mean it's not by choice?" she asked softly. "Not that I mean to intrude or anything, of course," she added quickly.
Amell thanked her for being a hero and feeding the hungry he looked over at her and chuckled. "Well... I am glad she knows how.., would be really worried about the kid." He said and then raised an eyebrow before laughing. "It is by choice. I don't like spending my time with random women for on... unless it is protecting them from god knows what. I don't find relations very... uhm... interesting? I mean with my ex-wife it was more than enough, but after she left I just didn't feel the need to, plus the whole not like being touched kind of helps. I am not saying people who have relations with a bunch of people is bad, now... just rather not deal with that, plus I could have accidentally knocked someone up and I am certainly not the daddy type, now am I Dan the Man? Not a daddy type at all." He smiled.
Gamaya nodded understandingly as he explained that he was, in fact, celibate by choice. She couldn't help but to smirk when he told Danonte that he wasn't the daddy type. "I'm not entirely sure that's true," she said softly. "You're great with Danny. I'm sure if you wanted to be, you could be an amazing daddy for some lucky child. If you're happy with your life, though, then you do you." She paused and glanced away, looking thoughtful for a moment. "I suppose eventually I'll have to foray back into the dating pool. I always wanted a big family. Lots of kids, just like my parents had. I love Danonte with all my heart, but I don't think I could feel fulfilled with only the one child - and on top of that, I'm such a romantic, honestly. I couldn't do the single mom thing forever. I'd want someone to share my life with - a partner, someone to hold at night, you know?" she asked, and then paused, glancing his way again. "Two types of people, I guess."
Amell looked at her and listened before shaking his head, "Dan's the man though... I see no child... just a tiny man trapped inside a two-year-old's body. I am just here to help him find his way... like a fairy godmother." He said, trying hard not to laugh at how stupid he was sounding. When she started talking about herself he listened and nodded and shook his head with a smirk when she said two different type of people. "Ahh yeah... very much two different types. At one point in my life the whole big family and romance was my thing. I got married to a very lovely blonde lady and she wanted many kids like my... poor parents," He chuckled, "And I was willing to give her just that... then as I worked to get to that point for her and poorly expressed myself she left and well... here I am thirteen years later. Pretending to babysit a pregnant woman while really just trying to help my friend, Dan, out." He laughed a bit. "I am sure you can find that kind of man somewhere. You are a hard working mother who loves her son, beautiful, and a kick a- butt attitude. So far you are fun to be around and I do enjoy trapping you in cages... so... I shall pass out this info of trapping you to your next man whenever that time shall be." He smirked.
Gamaya erupted in giggles when he talked about Danonte being a tiny man trapped inside a toddler's body. He certainly did sound silly. She frowned as she listened to his story about his wife. "That's...very sad," she said softly. "My husband was dedicated as anything to his job but I loved him for it. I loved that he worked so hard to provide for his family, and I tried to treasure the moments when he wasn't working and we could spend time together..." She smiled when he said he was certain she would find a man, blushing when he called her beautiful. "You're sweet," she said with a shake of her head. "Don't tell anyone about the cage. God, that sounds like a weird Yora sex thing. I will never understand that girl," she said with a shake of her head.
Amell shrugged, "It happened and it has been so long there really isn't a point in caring about it anymore. Maybe it was the start of me not liking being touched and the celibacy, but now that I think about it I don't ever have to deal with the clingy girls and I don't have to worry if I have knocked one of them up by accident. I don't know if my job would have gotten more dangerous as I grew in my trade or not, it certainly had for a time period until I came here. I think I do less now than I have ever done in this trade. So I mean... I could have left a wife and god only knows how many children behind." He said before chuckling a bit. "Well, now I am going to have to. It is a must. This guy must know your Yora side. He has to be prepared. As a male in the male pool, I must warn my fellow brother. Who knew? Miss Gammie is into some... uhh kinky stuff." He said before looking at Dan. "You think he will cry if I leave? I fear if I don't get this food to them soon they will attack me and I am but a small and defenseless man." He joked.
Gamaya nodded a bit as he explained his reasoning behind not wanting sex or a relationship. It certainly made sense for him and his way of life from what she'd seen, though she certainly wouldn't choose for herself such a life. When he said he was going to tell her future man that she had a Yora side and joked that she was into kinky things, her face went bright red and she looked at him in horror. "I'll never get a man if you do that," she said, shaking her head. Not that she needed one right now, not when her heart was broken, but she knew realistically that she would eventually. She shrugged when he asked if Danonte would cry if he left. "Maybe, but it's fine. He and I were playing before you came. If the girls are hungry, get them their food," she said.
Amell watched as she got bright red and let out a hearty laugh, "Oh boy, I made your momma blush. Shame on me." He said to Dan and then sighed. "Well okay..." He sad and then handed the kid to his mother. "I will see you later, buddy." He said and patted his head before getting the food. "Wish me luck." He said before walking out of the kitchen and then out of the house. He smirked the whole way out, feeling like he had accomplished something by making her blush.
Amell walked with the girls back to Gamaya's house and looked at the girl. "I... don't think he is really going to kill Luther..." He finally said as he knocked on the door. "I am sure he is just going to maybe knock him out... worst case." He sighed and looked back at the door.
Yoranda nodded when Amell said that he didn't think James was going to kill Luther. "Yeah, I would hope not," she agreed. Gamaya came to answer the door after a moment, carrying Danonte on her hip. She smiled when she saw them. "Oh! Hi. You're back early," she said, stepping aside and letting the girls come in. Danonte squealed with excitement at seeing Amell, and Gamaya smiled. "Yeah, baby? Is Amell home? Can you say hi to Amell? I swear he was talking earlier," she said, sighing.
Amell looked down and smirked, "Hello." He said before leaning over and poking Dan's side. "Hey, buddy... can you say hi to your best bud, Amell? It would make me the happiest godmother ever." He smirked and poked his cheek.
Gamaya smiled as Amell talked to Danonte, who giggled excitedly. "Hi!" he chirped, and Gamaya breathed a sigh of relief. "See, I told you he was talking," she said softly, looking at Amell. "So...you're a godmother, are you?" she asked, smirking a bit. "Because I hate to tell you this, Amell, but Danonte already has godparents. So..." Gamaya trailed off a bit, giggling as she looked up at him.
Amell chuckled, "There we go, knew you could do it, buddy." He said and looked at his mother. "Excuse me, none of them even KNEW about the old man in this young boy, okay? Only I can help him out. Are they here? Nope... because it is I who fate has saught out to do the job." He smiled. "Now... I have to get running to buy a house... might be back for food though." He smiled and patted her head and told Dan to keep being the man before running off.
Gamaya giggled when Amell told Danonte he knew he could do it, and she smirked a bit when he pointed out that Danonte's godparents weren't here. "Well, of course not, they're back home," she said softly, glancing away before looking back at him. "You're buying a house? Nice," she said with a smile. "Good luck. And you're always welcome here for food," she said. She closed the door after he left, locking it up before going to see her sisters.
Amell returned to Gammie's house after he got everything settled and smiled. He was happy with his purchase. It gave him something to do at least when he was done babysitting Barynn. If worse come to worse he could rent it and leave. He knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. He was going to work on it this weekend and make sure it was at least liveable in before his sister came.
Gamaya was almost done cooking dinner when the knock came at the door. She figured it was probably Amell, and peeking out a window confirmed that. She smiled up at him as she opened the door, stepping to the side to let him in. "You have excellent timing. Dinner is just about ready," she said cheerfully. The twins were upstairs in their room, and Barynn was lying on the couch with a sleeping Danonte sprawled across her lap, almost wrapped around her round stomach. She'd been sleeping too, but had woken up and hadn't wanted to wake him.
Gamaya was almost done cooking dinner when the knock came at the door. She figured it was probably Amell, and peeking out a window confirmed that. Amell smiled, "Oh I know... smelt it all the way from the realtor's office." He joked before walking in and looking at Barynn before gasping. "You dirty preggo woman... that is my bestest bud." He whispered and smiled before walking away from where Dan was sleeping and entered the kitchen. "So... I got the place. Got a decent price on it since it has been abandoned sometime now. You should come visit when I work on it. Like... this weekend." He smiled. "Hmm I might lose you in the tall grass though." He joked. "It is a bit rough, but I should be able to get it in decent shape to live in before my sister arrives." He smiled.
Gamaya laughed when he said that he had been able to smell the dinner cooking from the realtor's office. She headed into the kitchen while he spoke to Barynn, who glared at him. "He's a baby. Gosh. If it bugs you that much then come remove him," she grumbled. Gamaya got back to work on cooking, listening while Amell told her about getting the house he had wanted for a good price and wanting to fix it up before his sister came to town. "Well, that's good!" she said enthusiastically. "You want me to come over while you work on it? I'm sure that could be arranged. One of the girls would have to watch Danny, though. If you're afraid of losing me in the grass I'm not taking any chances with him, especially not so close to a lake," she laughed.
Amell was glad to have left Barynn in that position, woman deserved it. He smiled at Gamaya. "Oh yeah... I would't want you bringing him until the house is done. There will be too many tools around that he could hurt himself on and I rather not chance it. Also Barynn gave me the best idea in the world... to hire you as my estate cook. It is a big house so... I can see there being a cook or something. Anyway... if you ever want to work, get money, and feed in all in one you have a job." He said and peeked at what she was making.
Gamaya nodded when he agreed that he didn't want her taking Danonte to the house until it was done. "Yeah. Danny was never allowed in his father's workshop, either. Kallias always said the same thing - too many tools around that he could hurt himself on," she said a little sadly, twisting her wedding ring around her finger as he explained to her what Barynn had suggested. She grinned a bit. "An estate cook? That certainly sounds fancy. I'll have to whip out my extra fancy cook books for that," she said with a slight smirk. "It'd just be you most of the time though, right? So you'd basically be hiring me to cook for you? Because I don't know if you'd noticed or not, but I'm pretty much already doing that for free," she teased him with a giggle, waggling her wooden spoon at him before taking the food off the heat and going to get some plates.
