Brightside's Story

" I think I should give you awarning you won't catch me do gooders. " he was running as usual from heroes this time up a sky scraper he reached the top and stood on the edge teetering himself back and forth playfully. He hadn't done anything wrong but he might be doing something at least that's what the heroes thought. He watched as the climbed and he stood lookingg at them with a grin on his face. " Why do you do this to yourselves? Doesn't it get old doingnonly good all day every day Bah I like to mix it up." He held up his amulet around his neck and spun it in his hands thengoldennsun andnsilvermoon glinting in the sunlight. You see Im goood at good and evil don't you see that. " He then putt it back under his cloak and saluted to them. " Well heroes I believe this is goodbye for now hut remember why are you doing this? " With that he crossed his.arms and leaned backwards falling off. Then about halfway down he flashed into a puff of smoke and appeared on the ground and started running again.

Trampez was right on his tail as Brightside ran they both had superspeed but she had been trained better with hers. Brightside continued running then heard the sound of sparks " Storm " he said he knew she hated him most out of all the heroes so he knew she was one of the larger threats. He heard he shout and a bright ball of light came into view he dashed to his left just in time as the lighting struck where he was not moments before. He saw the wall at the end of the alley and a thought came into his mind, he stopped turned around and extended his claw gauntlets. " Ladies, ladies cant we work this out I've done nothing wrong " he said with a smirk on his face he had a plan but decided motto use it just yet.

Leigh knew something was wrong the minute she turned the corner. If she was Spiderman, her "spidey-senses" would definitely be tingling. Her instincts took over and she pulled out the knife that she always traveled with. At the end of the street was none other than the infamous Brightside. Her eyes widened even more and she saw Trampez and Storm pursuing the rouge. Leigh finger the smooth handle of her silver knife, a rarity that was both perfectly balanced and just the right size to fit in her hand. She wasn't sure if she could stand a chance against Brightside but maybe she could try.......
Immediately, Leigh knew that it would have to be a three-against-one fight. She became Firefox within a heartbeat. Brightside was a about twenty yards away and Firefox was thankful for her dark clothing; he hadn't seen her. She flung a knife straight at her target and hoped that her deadly aim could find its way to its mark.

" Ah hothead's here too this is just geting better " he said he waited till the surrounded him " Why do you fight me? You would think you would have figured out I'm unstoppable. " He pulled the knifen out of the wall a small bit of his hair cut by the end then saw one of Red Coyote's SPDs. Henlooked at it and grinned wickidly " Can you see me alright bud?" he hurled the knife into the small robot causing it to spark and fallnto the ground infront of Firefox. " So ladies what are you actually gonna do try and catch me? " he said smugly.

Brightside smirked as Charon walked up " Well if it ain't the original ghostbuster coming to join the party " he bellowed. He hated villains more than heroes even though his appearance was more villain than hero his morality had more good than bad in him. " Well girls it was swell hanging with ya but Ive got bigger fish to fry than you so Charon I expect you to keep them occupied. " he threw a small tracking beacon at trampez which unknown to anyone stuck to her ankle as he threw both down one the fake hitting the ground and the other silently attaching itself to her skin then blending in. He saw a few citizens were taping the events on their phones " make sure you remember the name it's Brightside and don't any of you forget it. " He saw the SPD with Firefoxe's knife still in the lenses he quickly grabbed the knife and bot. " Might as well take a bit of a souvenir of today " he snapped his finger and appeared in his hideout a few miles away. He located it in a bad neighborhood that's what got him started the gangs constantly fighting so he figured out he could make anliving doing jobs for each side they still k ow him as Brightside but make sure not to tell anyone. He put the robot in a case labled " Red Coyote " then put the knife in a case labled " Firefox " .


He retraced his blades and walked outside for a walk he didn't teleport after a leap that big and decide to get some air. He watched as a few kids were huddled in a circle watching something he walked over and looked to see two kids who both looked about 10 fighting. He grabbed them both by the collar and seperated them " Boys what's the problem here " they explained they were fighting over which side he would join a serious topic in this neighborhood. " Okay guys " he put them down and all the kids watched " I don't even know I think if I had to I would stay aneogue but I'm probably gonna get killed if I don't choose so ill tell you what when I join a side you'll be the first to know. " the boys nodded then ran off with the rest. That got Brightside thinking about what he should do.

Bright side walked back to his lair he took of his cloak and with that his spiked reddish brown hair turned to a flat black shiny combed look. He hung it up along with his gauntlets and ran to the case labeled Red Coyote and grabbed the broken robot and examined its outside. " Hm the lense is broken but , none of the outer shell I am so good at that. " he walked to an elevator , the bot still in his hands he held it with his left and hit the button labeled DL . He waited as it lowered into his dad's former lab. He didn't gain any of his super smarts but it was how he acquired his gauntlets by his father measuring his wrists when he was born so the gauntlets would grow at the same rate as he did. James wasn't sure how it worked something about blood sugar or something but he didn't care.

The doors opened an a large room appeared. As he walked in he pressed a button and three robots of his own came through a panel that he had opened two of the looked like small silver dogs but with wheels instead of legs. The other was James'es own creation it stood at his waist , and looked somewhat of a small child with red eyes and no mouth. James addressed the small bot " Hello again Leo " the small robot returned his greeting with a small nod. " Have we still got Trampez's signal " the robot nodded once more then asked in a staticy voice " What do you have sir is it for the raven? " James nodded and walked to a case that held two metal gloves , he handed the SPD to Leo then grabbed the metals out of the case and put them on happily. They were his fathers and helped James construct all his robots. "Take the camera,AI chip,and if you find any bronze dispose of it immediately " bronze was James'es weakness it made him immobile even teleportation impossible . James slowly walked to a large circular table which held five small metal birds all unfinished but with Red Coyotes SPD the would be finished. Leo handed him the chip and small camera which he then handed to the dogs " get me five more of each " he said to them as they drove away. He looked over all five then turned on the television watching the news. " They might take a while , Leo get me a drink will ya and just put the robot in the Rd Coyote case will ya" . The robot nodded then went to the elevator and went up as James sat down and watched the large T.V.

James sat in his chair almost asleep when he got a signal telling him a new heat signature was found. Most of the time it was ignored because of the high tourist rates but this was different it was caught on the heat but not on the image. He bolted up and watched the girl disappear and reappear then started to fight some car thieves. " Pah another hero he said aloud as Leo came back with a bottle of water. " Thanks bud " he said to the robot as he took and started to drink. Then he stopped as the girl continued to fight. She fought like a villain , James took off the gloves and sat the water down. He handed the gloves to Leo " I've gotta check this out " he said and jumped up and went into the elevator. " Put the gloves back and put the cameras and chips in the birds when the dogs come back. He went up and threw on his gauntlets and cloak. His short black hair turned back into his spiky brownish color. His eyes turned from blue to green and he became Brightside once more.

He teleported behind the girl and put his hand on her shoulder then teleported to the top a skyscraper. Hello Ms. the names Brightside. He saw the anger and confusion in her eyes. " Allow me to explain you seem to have aspects of a hero and villain side." he paced as he walked . " You see are somewhat of a hybrid of both such as I a rogue of some sorts. I am the only one so far or at least to this city but you seem to be one as well." he looked her in the eyes . " I suggest we work together or else we will both be overpowered. If you want to join I suggest you do it before the media finds you and sees you as one as well. But if you come with me and we work together we shall have a better chance of survival. " He extened the claws on his gauntlets whit a fast clink " If you don't the next time we meet will not be as friendly. Just think about it for a while wont ya" he walked backwards and crossed his arms in an X and tilted backwards " I will be waiting for your answer" he winked at her then fell backwards off spinning and he fell all the way about a foot from the road below then vanished into a puff of smoke.

James teleported home next to Leo " Are they done ". "Yes sir the birds are all complete " he pressed a button and the birds flew one landed on James shoulder and he petted the birds. They were eerily lifelike they looked and felt like ravens a all in varying sizes, their eyes were all completely black and had no pupils. " With these birds I can keep an eye on the whole city or track people " he pulled a long blond hair off his cloak " ah this must be Shadow's. " he open a small compartment into the bird on his shoulder then closed it. " Track this girl the rest of you find all the heroes you can but you" he pointed to the largest bird and attached a beacon to him " find Trampez's secret identity now fly my pets " he opened a hatch and the birds flew throughout the city covered by the black of darkness.


The next morning James woke up " Damn it's Monday " he walked downstairs and dressed . He made his own breakfast then went to the garage. He grabbed his keys off the hook and went to his Jeep. He started it up and started to drive he got about 2 blocks then he got caught in traffic. " Ah come on " he looked around to see no one was looking then he gripped the wheel and teleported into the school parking lot. " Gotta love powers " he was one of the only three people there already so he walked to the grass by the door and sat under a tree and pulled out a book and started to read slowly as he waited for the doors to open.

When alex awoke she couldn't help but moan, it was a Monday afterall, and her first day of school. "Great" She mumbled as she pulled on her clothes. The way she dressed was not to stand out, but also to not go un-noticed, she wanted people to know that a new girl was in town. Grabbing her hair brush from the side she quickly ran it through her hair, letting it fall in natural beach waves.

As she ran out the door she grabbed an apple and made her way out of the appartment, luckily she lived close to school so it wouldn't take to long for her to walk there. When she finally arrived she noticed a load of students walking in, she was about to adjust her thick nerd glasses on her face when she realised she left them at home. "Damn it" She moaned. 'Thank god know one has really seen shadow yet' She thought, 'Well apart from that brightside' and it would be highly unlikely they go to the same school right? So it should be ok right?

Alex headed into the building to get her schedule, one bad thing about being the new kid half way through the semester is that you have gotta catch up on all the work you have missed so far. "Let the games begin" She mumbled as she headed inside.

James looked up from his book and saw people walking inside. He shut his book and started to walk to his locker. He smiled to a few people on his way to class but got no replies , no one liked him very much he was a bit of an outcast. He continued and grabbed his books from his locker and continued to his science class. He sat down at his desk and looked around.

There was a new girl in class with wavy blonde hair. " strange didn't know we were getting a new girl " he said to himself. He looked out the window and say a small black raven with black eyes. " Holy shit it is " he realized it was shadow only in her regular form. " It's a good thing that Brightside looks changes." he said as he leaned back in his chair and decided he would have to get a better look at her before confronting her.

"Sometimes when the sophomores have their fun " he looked as everyone kept panicking even after the frogs were gone. James saw her wicked smile on Alex'es face and smirked back. " I think this may be the perfect time to escape what do ya say " he held his hand and watched as the chaos was starting to settle. " You better pick quick if so grab my arm and I'll get us out of here. If you don't wanna I'll go alone your choice ". He readied his transportation and waited for her answer yet again.

Alex looked at him and smiled. "Hmm yea It would and I had all ready done all this work last year at my old school" She said with a smile. Then she turned to the college student and sent her a wink. "Fine ill go nothing else to do around this joint anyway" She said quietly as she grabbed hold of his arm. She was so not used to teleporting and she had only ever teleported once before and didn't like the feel of it last time, even if she didn't know what was going on.

" Good hold on " he turned his attention to Storm " see ya later weather girl " he said , he gripped Alex'es hand tighter and teleported onto the roof of her apartment building. " This should be your stop Ms. Shadow and I mst say orevwa " he let go and jumped into the air puffing into smoke when he appeared at home.

" Leo get my car while I'm out" he said as he grabbed his robe and gauntlets and spent no time quickly putting them on. He then teleported and plucked his bird chasing Shadow out of the air took her hair out and let it fly away giving it the default command of normal bird mode. He then teleported to the highest skyscraper and started panting. He wasn't used to teleporting multiple times so he was tired as hell . He sat down and looked over the city wondering what to do with his time.

Upon seeing Brightside teleport into the air with a woman he hadn't noticed before, Charon's evil grin snapped into a scowl of disdain. "No, I'm not that cocky that I need a secretary. I handle all of my own affairs, thank you very much. And because of that I know for certain that I didn't invite you to my little soirée I'm holding here. Now it would do you nicely to excuse yourself before you make yourself an even bigger nuisance than you already are." Charon snarled, dropping his arms into his standard summoning position. His various minions that still remained focused themselves entirely on the uninvited guest that Brightside made himself, and Charon used this to his advantage, summoning additional pedestrian spirits as reinforcements to his already deployed troops. "You impetuous little child, do you really think returning one ghost to the river will make me flee? These spirits are like the hydra, you fool. You cut down one head of the beast and more will replace it. The ghosts of Kirkcroft are as innumerable as they are restless." Charon continued, pulling the lighter from his robes and tossing it from hand to hand impatiently. A small unit of his spirits moved to stand near Styx defensively, allowing Charon a brief window of opportunity to stomp along the street towards Brightside, a deeper scowl decorating his countenance. "The worst thing about this isn't that you crashed my party, or removed my minion from the physical plane, or even injured a woman merely writing in a notebook for some unknown reason. No, the worst thing is that I want a cigarette, but I don't have any on me." He chuckled slightly as he said this, slowly drawing water towards himself from a nearby fountain. "Now I have no choice but to take it out on you." Charon finished, crossing his arms over his chest and glaring at his adversary.

Alex's idea of finding food to eat failed a bit to much, it didn't help that her fridge was a bit empty, so it looked like she had no choice but to buy some food from the supermarket. Grabbing her gym bag which had her costume in for emergencies she made her way out of her appartment. Luckily there was a corner shop beside the apartment building so she wouldn't have to look far for some food.
Alex walked inside the shop, grabbing a pastry from the counter she made her way to the cashier, when she reeched the checkout she placed the money on the counter and made her way outside. Removing the wrapping from her pastry she smiled at the sweet aroma, she was about to take a bite when a car came flying her way. Her eyes widened as it was aproaching her fast, when the car hit her it sent her flying into the wall, the car crushing her slightly in the process.
If it wasn't for her super strength she would be dead. Looking at her hand, her eyes widedned in horror, her food had been destroyed.
"Who ever done that is going to die" She screamed at the top of her lungs.
Grabbing her bag that she had droped she quickly phased through the ground, luckily she landed in a storage basement. Pulling her costume from her bag she began to change, her costume consisted of a dark blue half armed leotard with a blue skirt attatched to it, she wore black gloves that reach her elbows as well as matching boots, she wore a black mask that covered her eyes.
"Those bastards are going to pay" She mumbled as she through herself up through the ground, when she reached the street she couldn't help but wander why everyone was running away screaming in horror. But when she looked at where they were coming from she realised why.

Running over to the area as fast as she could, she spotted a guy with a threating look on his face and a girl who was writing notes in a book?
' Shadow no time to think, your here to kill whoever destroyed your food' She said to herself, the expression on her face turned demonic as she watched as ghosts were throwing cars and destroying the city.
Walking over to Brightside, she realised she couldn't get close he was surrounded by ghosts. Turning to the new guy she scowled at him. "Are you responsible for these bastard things who threw a car at me and caused me to kill my food?!" She shouted pointing an accusing finger at him.

" Well looks like we got a small party here " he snickered then quickly slashed every ghost through the abdomen causing them to disappear into their gooey form. " Ah Shadows here good to see ya , looks like two villains against two rogues. Oh where are my manners , Ladies and Gentlemen , boys and girls of all ages, oh and you too Charon. May I present the latest edition to Kirtcroft Shadow. " he exclaimed and he dashed at Charon quickly knocking him down.

" Your reflexes are as always like a drunken walrus Casper." He jumped back quickly and stomped a few ghosts on the head. Then charged at the few ghosts still untouched and slashed at them knocking their heads off them trying to take out as many as possible. " Ya know Charon I think I'll take my chance trying to figure out who scribe here is ."

" Head shrinking , I don't believe in voodoo darlin. " he cackled and slashed at a few more ghost before the few remaining charged him pinning him to a bronze statue. " Get off me you assholes!!" he yelled weakly and tried to jump off but he was drained of his powers. Bronze not only drained him but it also made I'm angry and hostile. His arrogant and cheery personality had been replaced with an angry and hostile killer. His current position is best described as an axe murderer in the body of a three month old. He growl like a dog and screamed loudly trying to get away.

Brightside woke up about an hour later. He wondered who the girls was and why they're we're so many new heroes and villains coming to Kirtcroft , it was a bit unsettling he had lived here his whole life but only been in the scene for about six months. He stood up and walked to the table in his room he cleared his mind the came up with a plan, a Devilish , clever, amazing plan. He ran downstairs and was greeted by his robot.

" Leo fire up the bright-blimp " he said happily as he grabbed a platinum ring. While bronze powered him down platinum powered him up making him calm and collective. He put on the ring and walked to the zeppelin as it started up and began to lift in the air. Brightside sat on the lower deck in a large recliner as they took off. He closed his eyes and drifted into a day dream. It was his recurring dream about his parents. He was laying down in his crib his hair was jet black with two green eyes unlike his current form of brownish red and blue eyes. He had no powers he was asleep as they attacked his parents tried to defends against the five heroes but were killed after a quick battle. The leader saw the James and grabbed his neck about to snap it but then Gold Star an hero in his early thirties stopped him and grabbed James. He said he would take James on as his step son and raise him as a hero and the group allowed him to do so. " Arrogent asses " James thought to himself as his dream continued. When his powers came in his hair and eyes changed color giving him his current look. It wasn't until James was seven when he would be separated again. A villain bent on mindless destruction mercilessly killed Gold Star right in front of James's eyes. James jumped on him and teleported into the air with the villian with him then he teleported to the ground watching as the villian was killed by gravity. James felt no regret and he spat on the man's face and walked away.

Brightside stood up and told Leo to stop when they got to the center of town. He grabbed the intercom and started to speak as a loud sound of Brightside's finger tapping on the mic echoed through the town. " Ladies and gentlemen , Heroes and villains of all ages . This is Brightside and I have a request for every hero and villian in the city. You all are invited to a little get together I'm having in three days. You are all invited and if you don't come your a chicken now I need you all to come around for this to work maybe each of you bring something. Actually you know what I really don't want Charon bringing any jelly so no need to bring anything. So in three days I want all of you old and new , young and old to come so until then Toodalloo." Brightside said as he teleported the large zeppelin back to his lair making a large smoke cloud where it was before.

Brightside walked around his lab admiring the diamond. " Hm now why did craziness want this gem the theif just looks like an ordinary thief but why did the other girl want it. " Luke came up to him and told him to check the birds. Brightside looked at the moniter and saw a group of bodies saying BRIGHTSIDE COME OUT. " Hm looks like a little lady wants a fight. " he looked at his gauntlets and smiled. " Luke keep the diamond in its case ill be out for a while. "

Brightside grabbed a fake diamond same size and shape an exact duplicate or so it seemed he had planned on stealing it anyway and swapping it with the plastic one. He teleported and saw Prime screaming and going on a rampage. " Hey girl take it easy I'm here. " he looked at the bodies and smirked. " Oh spelling my name with your victims oh babe I'm flattered if you want this gem you can have it all you gotta do is catch me before I smash it. " he dashed down the street leaving a large whirlwind where he originally stood.

" Hey girl take it easy I'm here. "
PRIME turned around. Surprisingly, her plan worked.
" Oh spelling my name with your victims oh babe I'm flattered if you want this gem you can have it all you gotta do is catch me before I smash it. "
There were two things wrong with the sentence that came out of Brightside's mouth.
1.- Brightside had called PRIME "babe". NOBODY. CALLS. PRIME. BABE. Babe meant weak and idiotic. PRIME was neither of those things.
2.-Brightside made the mistake of saying "catch me" instead of saying, "i'm going to fight you right away". Not only was Brightside extremely cocky and overconfident, but stupid and ignorant for not knowing that PRIME had superb projectile attacks.

PRIME smirked, shouted "COWARD!!!!" and flew at her super speed, chasing Mr. Brightside at the same pace he ran (Brightside had super speed as well). She aimed plasma at him from both her hands and eyes. Soon enough, she would be a foot away from him. And just in case her plan didn't work, or if Brightside pursued her, she had a million other plans bubbling in her head.
