A small breeze rolled through the forest, carrying the thick scent of earth and soil, accented by a slight floral smell. The beginnings of spring were evident in the forest, which made the day an excellent choice to be outside the kingdom, where the walls kept the winds from blowing any sort of refreshing scent through the sectors held within. Out here, Sebastian could take a deep breath and not be taken aback by offensive odors from the slums or presents horses and other animals left behind. Revolting. If anything could be said about the Watchers, it's that they have excellent taste for choosing to live in nature rather than in a kingdom.
But then again, he thought, "It's not like we would accept them with open arms."
A grim smile toyed at the edge of Sebastian's lips. Better not to sympathize with the enemy. Even if they do exist, they may not be civil. Spend enough time away from mankind and you'll find yourself inevitably falling more and more into savagery. These Watchers may not be any different.
"Captain!" Sebastian called out, shattering the silence that befell the party as the scoured for a trace of the girl.
"Yes, Prince Sebastian?" The captain and his men stopped what they were doing to pay attention.
"Anything to report? Did you find anything? Foot prints, unnatural marks on trees, disturbed grass, irregular patterns of leaves, anything at all?"
"Nothing at all... besides the short path of footprints we found and followed here."
"She couldn't have just disappeared. Look harder, make sure she didn't back track and head off in a different direction. Stay vigilant."
There was a crunching sound that hit the ears of Sebastian. Like the crunching of feet stepping on grass or a leaf or a fallen stick. Only, he had not dismissed the guards to continue looking. Why would they move? Of course, when Sebastian looked at his guards, they had not moved yet and were still awaiting dismissal.
So they had not heard... A quick glance to his side confirmed that Liam had noticed as well. Dax's face, though, was passive as always so it was hard to tell if he had picked up on the disturbance.
Sebastian cleared his throat. "I- We know that someone is out there. We are not here to hurt you, we only want to talk. If you are Watchers, or whatever you actually call yourselves, then you have been living right under our noses all this time and we only want to learn about what lies outside our walls. Think of it as... inviting your neighbors to dinner so you can figure out what kind of people they are."
This was a lie, though. Well, slightly a lie. Sebastian was not there to hurt anyone, he only wanted to learn about the Watchers, find out if they are myth or normal people who's abilities have been grossly exaggerated, or if everything was true. He waited, hoping he hadn't made a mistake in calling out a being who's intentions and capabilities were completely unknown,

He would say something, but Dax didn't like having all these guards around. He could speak more freely around his brothers, who somewhat knew him. But the guards only knew him as the mysterious prince who people only glimpsed occasionally. Although they were well-trained, he could feel curious glances on him.
Dax suddenly focused on a certain area of the space they were in and silently stepped forward, surprising one of the guards. He had a feeling that this was where the sound had come from. He stepped deeper in, searching around for any trace of something unusual.
Liam leaned against a tree. "They aren't coming out you know." He said, pushing off the hard bark, "Guess we'll just have to find the little assholes ourselves."
He looked where his brother was staring at and looked up at the trees.
"If they're not on the ground... Where's the only other place they can be?" He said, in almost a whisper in case the mysterious people could hear him.
In truth, he really did not want to be on this mission. But he was more forced to do so. He scowled at his brothers as they tried to talk the people/person into view, which obviously was not going to work. If only they had hounds with them.

Claire wasn't the typical courageous one of the family but she was curious alright, curious of what humans thought, and how they acted. She never really encountered one before seeing how Kennedy and Will would never let her do such a thing. But Claire was very sly and did like to cause a little mischief.
Sitting there watching the Boys talk among themselves and hearing one of them calling us assholes made her angry. Her eyes turned into two different colors one a light pink and they other husky blue, she the formed a ball of ice in her hand and aimed it right for one prince that called them assholes and throw it hard straight at him.
Liam easily dodged the ice ball that came hurtling at him. "Oh. So there really are people in the trees." He said as he stabbed the ice with his katana, "If it went any faster I probably would have had my head taken off."
He looked up at the area in the tree where he predicted the ice came from, "Better luck next time. Just learn how to throw, 'cause right now... You throw like a girl."
Right about now, he was actually assuming it was a girl who threw it 'cause it was weaker than what a male would throw. Now if only his brothers would do something.

"Don't be so hot headed, Liam. If you instigate and taunt it, there won't be any way we can get anything out of the Watcher without a fight. We don't have any idea what they can do. Maybe they're all limited to ice balls and above normal strength, or maybe they have the power to tear you asunder with just a thought! Don't such a fool!"
He quickly cut off and took a few steps towards the tree that the ice ball came from.
"I know this isn't your first time seeing guards or people from our kingdom. So when you look at the three of us-- my brothers and I," he nodded towards Liam and Dax for identification. "Doesn't it seem a little odd that we're dressed fancier than anyone else you've seen? We're very important people in the kingdom, and our father, the king, would not have sent us here with so little protection. You've given up your position and we know you're there. Try to run, and you'll be captured by one of the many guards we sent to surround the area. Don't you think it would be much better for everyone if you just... came down and talked for bit?"

Well, it was apparent that these people had powers, but Liam still shouldn't be instigating it. Sebastian was right in that respect. But, he shouldn't have said that they were important people, or saying that they were the princes. If the Watchers weren't friendly, and had powers, they most likely would take them hostage, no matter the guards.
He recalled that the ice had been thrown from a tree and looked up, trying to find a glimpse of the thrower.
There, was that...? He walked closer and settled on a simple, "Hello." It seemed to be a girl, and she seemed rather at home in the tree.
"Oh. So it seems Older Brother's seen the little girl has he?" Liam said to Dax. Currently, he was rubbing his temples with one hand because of an increasing headache Sebastian was giving him. Was he seriously stupid enough to say that they were important people? And if they haven't been able to capture them for years, what made the idiot think they would succeed so easily this time?
So far, he was the only one who has done something. He insulted them, and they gave away their position. "You would think that if they were so powerful, they'd have already killed us. But that hasn't happened now has it?" Liam said, looking up at where he had originally assumed the girl to be.
Sneaking back through the forest Kennedy saw the guards and three other guys who looked rather important to her. She smirked as she crept through the forest and heard Claire throw an ice ball at the nearest fancy guy. Kennedy grinned as she crept up behind the guards and quickly and quietly knocked them out. She smiled up at Claire in the tree as Kennedy entered the clearing behind the three guys.
Liam smirked as the girl from the trees jumped to the ground to meet them at. He quickly lunged at the girl with his katana and place the tip of the elongated sword at her throat.
"One wrong move, and you will have no more throat. I am not here to play games and I do not intend on gambling the lives of my brothers or mine. So are you good or evil, miss?" He threatened/asked.
He knew he'd get yelled at by his brothers, but he didn't want her to have the perfect opportunity to harm anyone he actually somewhat cared about.
Liam probably had good intentions deep down somewhere, but this was a little bit extreme, even for him.
He assessed the situation. All the guards were knocked out. The girl he had seen in the tree had a sword held to her throat by Liam. Another girl was present, and had accounted for the guards. Sebastian hadn't reacted yet.
Dax resisted the urge to sigh. This was more complicated than he had expected. It really would have been easier to send a couple of spies instead of this large group of people. But then again, his father had thought this was better and while he could cross his father, his father wouldn't listen to him--even if he was in charge of intelligence.
Prince Liam rolled his eyes at his brother.
"Yes. Because that's a great idea. Calm down so that we all turn out like our guards. We could have stood a better chance if Mr. Almighty over there hadn't announced that we were important people." Liam spat. He was getting angrier and angrier by the second.
What was making it worse was that the girl hadn't said one word. 'What. Does she not understand us?' He briefly wondered.

Liam took in a slow breath through his nose and let it out his mouth. He lowered his katana, not having to look over in the direction where the girl used to be knowing she was gone.
He turned and glared at the girl who was now by her sisters side.
"Do you take amusement in annoying me?" He asked as he strides towards the girls.
He simply just wished his elder bother would do his job and capture these women.

"I enjoy annoying anyone who dares to threaten my family. Now may I ask what the heck you are doing in my forest?" Kennedy smirked as the boys finally turned around to face ther two sisters. It was clear the boys intent was to capture them but that would not happen as long as she was around.
Even though it was obvious that telling a possibly hostile enemy that you were important wasn't the greatest idea, Sebastian did so for two reasons. The first was that in knowing that the three were princes, if the watcher they found was not alone, in order to capture all three men, she would need help. If there were other watchers, this would draw them out. The second was to drill Liam and Dax on dealing with hostilities. Sometimes you are mugged for random reasons, and other times you are attacked with impossible forces and odds in order to maximize the success if capture. Liam and Dax needed to know what to do in these situations.
But he hadn't counted on his guards being assassinated one by one while he was distracted. He sneered slightly as he was questioned, too distracted by his mistake to really compose himself to answer politely. "Does it really matter? Those were good men that you just killed without provocation. Where do you get the nerve?"
He noticed that the eyes of the girl who had not been speaking had changed colors. She looked irritated and on the brink of attacking. "Liam," he warned. "I know I don't need to tell you, but keep an eye on that one. She looks like she's got it out for you." He nodded towards the older looking of the two sisters. "I'll do my job. Just make use of that sliver of metal you call a sword and watch my back."
Sebastian cast a quick glance towards Dax. He was curious to see how he would react, because it wasn't too often that Sebastian got to watch his brother fight. He let out a slow exhale and took his stance. "Now, we can do this easily and you just submit-- or my brothers and I will take you by force. It's really up to you."

He loved his brothers, he really did, but they would try the patience of a saint, and he wasn't even close to one. At this point, he was seriously considering confiscating everyone's weapons and tying them all up together. Yes, it was stupid, but maybe they could get something accomplished instead of standing around doing nothing, and getting nowhere.
And when he got back home, his father was going to hear from him, never mind the fact that he was king and his word was law. This was sheer, utter folly, and they should have sent out a couple of spies rather than a large party that made a lot of noise and contained all three of the princes. Between Sebastian and Liam, he was having trouble deciding which one was the greater fool. Currently, his sympathies were with the girls, the Watchers, as they called themselves.
He sighed and backed away from the clearing, content to let both of his brothers go through the trouble of catching the girls. They brought this upon themselves, after all.

Liam let out a low growl at he sheathed his katana back into its hilt. He turned to his brother, "How do you not care that they," He pointed to the two girls, "Killed all of your men!? You don't even seemed fazed! God, and I thought father had no heart."
Liam rubbed his temples to sooth an oncoming headache. He glanced up at the one with brown hair who seemed to hate him. She seemed to be waiting for something. He looked over at the blonde. 'Well, she seems older then the brunet. Maybe their kind follows the eldest in the group... God. There better not be more of them.' Liam thought as he leaned on a tree, 'Two are enough.'
"Sebastian, would you please just capture them already? I don't know what you're planning, but father will either grow worried over the fact that you aren't back yet, or he'll grow angry we haven't figured anything out yet." Liam said to his brother. And to think, this was only a "simple" information mission.
