The unlucky kid with a mysterious trial.

a character in “Wayward House for the Misunderstood”, as played by Mr. Baneling Squishy

Description

Jeremy Blake

Image

Age: Almost 12, his birthday is close
Gender: Male
Appearance:

Personality: His personality is far too complicated to simple explain. However, this is what is said in his case file, and in rumors swung around. His parents had beat him, both physically and mentally. Then, one day, when Jeremy was 8 years old, when a mailman came to the house to drop off mail, he heard crying inside. The mailman found both parents, dead, seemingly having the life sucked out of them, and Jeremy in the corner, with a black eye, and bruises. All the forensic evidence proved that they beat him, and he was sent into foster care, while their murder was never discovered. This left notable mental scarring, but it was noted that for awhile he tried. He became careful about himself and aware of his power when he was 10. He had his first crush, and they were sitting on the edge of a fountain. It was late, much later then he should have been out. But no one knew he was out even.

While sitting, she kissed him, and they held hands. The shock accidentally almost made him kill her, but he preformed CPR (which he had learned from watching a TV show actually). Along with becoming careful and aware, a bystander had seen her sudden collapse, but never figured out his power himself, just noting it was strange. Later, Jeremy developed trust issues, after his foster parent tried to kill him for discovering she was extorting money from many of the original parents for their "well being". He accidentally killed her too.

Now, with the exception of the occasional calls to his crush, he doesn't talk to anyone, just drawing in his book. The only time people really see him smile is during those calls, and the rest of the time, he is writing, drawing, or whatever in his book. His therapist said it was his coping mechanism, and that for now, they should just let him draw or write or whatever he does in that journal. Its red by the way.

Some things I like:
  • His Journal
  • [^] His crush
  • [^] Unknown

Some things I don't like:
  • Abusive people
  • [^] People who bully him
  • [^] People who are mean to him.

Power/Supernatural Gift: He can drain the energy and life force of others. However, If he drains them too much, they die. Or are at risk of death through some way. He can control it at least, but its dangerous if he ever got emotional. He can drain energy from trees and people, which is the msot effective, to something they carry often and feel as if it is a part of them, like a necklace or gun, which is less effective. He can use this energy to heal, as well as temporarily making him stronger, faster, more agile. Additionally, there is a 1/10 chance he sees a Memory, that latched in with energy transmitted via who it is from. The memory could only leave an imprint if it was anything near significant however, so it will never be a boring wait in the Elevator.

Background: (note: Had to put Personality in this, because a lot of it is just a repeat)

He was born July 10th. He lived there for 8 years. Now, ever since he was 4 years old, his parents had beat him, both physically and mentally.

Now, he was charged with 3 murders when his power was discovered, because the whole "Killer Foster Mother" thing caught the attention of the Neighbors, who saw what happened. And their security camera got it on tape. While since she was holding a knife, she couldn't be charged with attempt at murder and Jeremy with Self Defense, they got her on extortion, though she was already dead. Combined with the abuse Jeremy got from his parents, the Jury actually didn't charge him with Murder in any degree, or even Manslaughter. THe one thing he was found guilty on was "Assault" on his Foster Mother and crush, which was never quite clarified how he got charged with that, but he was, and he was sent to the house because of it.

So begins...

Jeremy:

However, before the bus came rolling in, another car pulled up ahead of it. A woman and Jeremy came out of the car. Jeremy already had his notebook out, and was drawing the house. He was a quick drawer, possibly he got some excess energy on the road. But most likely its because it how he copes with things. He has become an excellent drawer. He was soon starting on detail. The woman walked with him, holding his hand.

The woman looked at Shinji, noting "Shinji. I hope you know I expect you to take full care of him and uphold the quality he does deserve. We both know those charges were bogus, whether you admit it or not. Now, as you know, he is not to be treated like all the others. I don't know why the jury decided this, but he is here for a year, minimum. I don't know what special rules you have here, but to be clear. He is allowed his phone, phone calls, and he needs to be cared for. I will make sure he is treated justly. I have been allowed to visit every now and again to observe his progress. Now, you just need to sign here for stating you understand how his case is special, and that I will be looking into where these charges suddenly re-emerged from....".

Meanwhile, Jeremy had finished his drawing. He wrote down everything that was said now. He also had his complete hand-written copy on the forms. He drew not just images, but he wrote down conversations, papers, anything he saw. Thats when one of the guards put a hand on his shoulder, which startled him, causing him to grab the person who grabbed him. The man soon started to collapse, as if the energy in his lungs went somewhere. Jeremy quickly let him go and backed away. The man was still breathing, and awake, but was breathing heavily.

The woman, Dr. Ryhlier, then noted "And I suggest you reframe from letting anyone new startle him. He has a history of being hit and abused. Now, are we all clear?". He then turned towards Jeremy and kneeled down, noting "Why don't you call her about how nice this place looks?". Jeremy's face lit up, taking out his phone, and calling his crush. He wasn't silent any more, he was talking, laughing a little. It was the one thing that seemed to make him truely, 100% happy. He was talking for quite a bit. Finally he stopped, saying goodbye. This always left a lasting smile on his face for awhile. He continued to draw now, drawing everyone he saw. And that meant everyone. He had quick hands. He was quick in general.

However, he could already tell some of the others already here were staring at him. Or at least, he had the feeling they were.

Miyako had seemed down all day. It wasn't usual for her to be this solemn, even with everything she'd been through. She looked about the bus taking everything in. She saw a girl in the back of the bus fiddling with her gloves, another who was doing her nails and another who was drifting in and out of sleep. They must have done something too, to end up here she thought. She was very curious to find out what exactly they had done, but didn't think it would be appropriate given the circumstances.

The bus came to a stop behind a car. She looked out the window to see what would seem like a very nice house, but she was still skeptical. She liked what she could do, and didn't want to jeopardize it. It wasn't her fault that someone got frisky with her and she lost control. She shook her head to clear the bad memories away and followed the guards off the bus. The undid her shackles and she rubbed her wrists to restore some measure of feeling to them.

As she looked at the new faces, she found one in particular to be familiar. That face belonged to her lawyer Shinji Tagasaki. Wayward House was known throughout the world for their high reputation and that reach extended as far as Japan. She had been on trial for involuntary manslaughter and he pleaded her case. It should have been an open and close case. She had defended herself and "pushed" him into the water, but Shinji had completely botched the job and got her sent here. She was as far from home as she could get, so she made sure he would know how homesick she was.

As she was focusing on the girl who had been doing her nails strange behavior, a girl had sidled next to her and attempted to use her stuffed animal as a shield.

"Hi!" the girl's voice quavered, "Umm! I'm sorta scared. Wanna be friends?"

Miyako was a little taken aback, but soon recovered from her initial shock at being spoken to. "Oh, hello" she said in an accented voice, "I am scared too, actually. I would not mind being friends." Miyako said as she bowed and extended her hand in a friendly gesture.

Jeremy noted a few people noticing his drawings. He drew a lot. But he also wrote down conversations. He wrote down what Shinji said even. However, he became slightly more energized randomly, he didn't know why. He began drawing and observing now, drawing each room he passed through, each person he saw, and each detail he noticed.

He went into the room with the food, grabbed the plate with some sandwiches and he put a good amount of chips on it. He then went to a corner in the room and sat down with the plate next to him, drawing while occasionally eating whatever he had brought with him. He drew the entire room now as when he had sat down. His drawings improved more and more.

Thats when he noticed an old penny on the ground. He picked it up, and he then saw a memory, that had latched onto the penny via personal energy of the last person to hold the penny that experienced a traumatic moment. There were many kids in the dining room. They were different. Many more though. He thought he saw someone who looked like Shinji, only....younger. It was strange. He had seen memories through the energy stored within objects, but seeing Shinji as a kid....that was the weird part. But what he couldn't tell was what made this memory significant. It was a bunch of kids sitting at a table, quietly and eating.

The memory ended. Someone found that memory significant. But Why? He drew the memory on a separate page in a separate section of his notebook. He knew it was important somehow, to someone. And he wold figure it out eventually. But right now, food. He began eating a bit more. However, he was beginning to think about what happened in his past. He was getting upset again. However, he also began eating more, and faster, but not fast enough to put him in danger of choking.

He flipped to a different page in his notebook after he was done drawing the memory.

"My name is Kiyomizu Miyako, but you may just call me Miyako. I like your name, Lily, it suits you well." Miyako said with a genuine smile. She noticed the pretty cat that was brushing up next to them and wanted to pet it, but Lily got to it first. She wouldn't admit it, but she really loved cats. She was startled to say the least, when the pretty cat formed into a boy and gave her a bow. He said his name was Sebastian. "Oh, as you probably heard, my name is Miyako. It is a pleasure to meet you." she said formally. He has an ability too, that means I'm not alone! she thought rather happily and gave a small smile to herself.

She looked up at Shinji as he began to speak "Welcome, all of you, to the Wayward House for the Misunderstood! Now that everyone is gathered, please follow me to the dining room. I'm sure that many of you are hungry, so lunch has been prepared for you. Everything will be explained, so I ask that you do your best to remain calm." with that he proceeded to lead them inside the house. She saw him visibly pale and he looked up, she looked up to see what it was that had frightened him, but could see nothing. That is odd she thought.

Shinji had lead them all into a spacious dining room. On the table were several plates of sandwiches, none of which were labeled. She wasn't very picky about which she got, so she picked one at random and sat at the table, saving one of the seats next to her for Lily. She couldn't help but roll her eyes at the snobby vegetarian girl who complained about the food. She looked about the dining room as she bit into her sandwich, which she was surprised to find was peanut butter and banana. A boy was eating and drawing frantically in the corner, while another boy had commented on the snobby girls complaints.
She looked across the table at a girl who was taking of her gloves. As she attempted to eat with a fork, she had frozen it completely. Does everyone here have an ability? This is amazing! She had a wider grin on her face as an older lady came in and apologized for not having labeled the sandwiches. She seemed very nice, and instantly decided that she liked her. She reminded her of her own Obaa-chan. A girl that was sitting next to the girl that had frozen her fork began to help her eat her sandwich.

The snobby girl asked Shinji what the Wayward House was all about, and she had to admit that she was curious as well. "It is obvious that all of us here are special, so will this "rehabilitation" take what makes us special away?" She was eager to find out if she would have to fight to keep her abilities or not.

An impossible image. The cat, the white fluffy cat that had brushed against her, morphing into a tall boy with a mop of red hair. Lily awkwardly takes a quick glance at Phina, realizing that this can't be a coincidence. Right? She obviously did... something, and this boy can, as well. Beside her, Lily could feel surprise and some strange sort of revelation coming from her new friend. The Japanese girl. She had a small smile to herself while the boy introduced himself as Sebastian, and shook hands with the smaller girl. He then made a polite bow to Miyako, who quickly re-introduced herself to the cat-turned-boy. Lily, while feeling a faint bong with Miya, she is still wary of Sebastian, knowing exactly what his kind is capable of doing. She let out a small shiver as Shinji called everyone into the house. Through the ugly door and the awful yellow walls.

House for the Misunderstood. That's what Shinji said. Misunderstood. Like, an honorific? Kinda like special needs? A more polite way of saying how unfortunate we are? I think so!

Warmth spread through Lily's face for the third time when she saw that Miya had saved a seat for her. She timidly propped herself into the seat and beamed up at the Japanese girl. She could now examine some of the other people here, too. Lily saw a boy who appeared to be having trouble staying awake, which made her giggle. Very tall, though. And probably well-muscled. She'd keep an eye on him. There was also the drawing boy, who has some sort of coin with him, rapidly sketching something. How old was he? Eleven? Ten? Oh, and the girl with the dragon, of course, with the appropriate dragon tattoo on her arm. Lily briefly wonders what it means when an old woman came by with multiple packs of food. She made an apology and a kind welcome, and Lily felt this strange sort of satisfaction at being somewhat pampered. Only somewhat. She still remembers the shackles she had on not too long ago.

"Can I call you Miya?" Lily whispers to her friend beside her, who looked somewhat content at the various people around. All of whom seemed to have some sort of supernatural gift. Just like... just like Phina. And all the others, too. There was even this girl talking to someone who didn’t seem to be there. Darryl? Darren? Lily couldn't quite hear.

As the snobby girl with awesome nails asks Shinji about the Wayward House, Lily begins to think that, possibly, there's something bigger going on here. It all just seems too convenient. In any case, she's happy to have made a friend, Miya, and she already begins to feel herself becoming slightly reliant on the mild mannered Japanese girl.

Jeremy wiped away the tears from his eyes. He tried to move on, drawing someone else now. His crush, Christine. No matter how much detail he put into any of his drawing, hers were always the best. Thats when he heard the scream. He jumped up, startled, and backing up against a wall, having disconnected himself that much at the moment. The lights in the room flickered for a moment, but Jeremy soon realized he was right be an outlet.

Electrical Energy, right....

Jeremy had already drawn a few more drawings of a few more people by now, as well as drawing anyone he missed.

He decided to go sit somewhere else. It was fairly noticeable him leaving though, he was carrying a notebook, his backpack, and a plate of sandwiches. He sat down in the main room. Thats when he could hear someone lurking to the left of him. He looked there, and there was this kid, who must have been staying here for awhile.

"So, you think your so special? I heard what your little caretaker said. You think your better then the rest of us? Well, I am better then you. Me, Nathan Parson Cebil" said N.P.C., whose initials were a complete coincidence. Jeremy disregarded him, continuing to eat and draw, not even noticing if someone had sat next to him yet because he didn't have the time to.

N.P.C. threw a punch at him then, and knocked him down. What happened next was unforeseen. Jeremy jumped up and grabbed N.P.C. by his neck, draining him of energy. N.P.C. was left virtually helpless. But Jeremy couldn't help it, he brought up bad memories of his parents beating him. Jeremy barely managed to stop himself, but he did. He just sat back down silently, and continued drawing, ignoring anything the bully might say now.

Jeremy was broken. he needed a friend. And so far, the one person who truely interacted with him on a decent level at least was a bully.

As Miyako awaited an answer to her question, she saw a girl out the corner of her eye began clutching her throat. Miyako's first instinct was to jump up and give her the heimlich maneuver as she feared the girl was choking. As she moved to get out of her chair, the girl released an ear shaterring scream. It startled Miyako very severely and she began to lose control. The drinks in the glasses began to shake violently and shattered from the screams of the girl. Once they shattered, the drinks didn't spill but remained as they were. The girl who seemed snobby attempted to calm the girl who had abruptly stopped. She saw Sebastian literally freaking out. She touched his shoulder in an attempt to calm him and turned to Lily to make sure that she was okay. As she calmed, she released the drinks she had taken control of and they splashed against the table. "Ah, I always make messes when I lose control" she said shaking her head and grabbing napkins to clean the mess.

"A-arigeto? Did I say it right?" Miyako looked up from her cleaning as Lily spoke. "Almost," she said turning to face the young girl. "instead of the 'eh' sound you want the 'ah' soun-" She stopped mid-sentence when she saw the blood flowing freely from the young girls arm. "Arema!" she gave a small shout. "You are bleeding." she said handing her a towel. She attempted to help the girl clean up her arm. It was fortunate that she was not squeamish when it came to these sights.

As she cleaned Lily's arm, she glanced about the room, seeing how others reacted to the scream. There was a girl with what seemed to be a dragon. That is a pretty cool ability she thought to herself. The boy who was sketching had left the room completely, apparently too perturbed by the commotion. Shinji was talking on the phone, rather urgently and once her hung up, he walked over to the girl who had been screaming. He ran his index finger across her lips, and she visibly paled. She could take physical contact with a man, despite what had happened, but to her that seemed rather inappropriate. She was sure it wasn't to be taken that way, but it perturbed her nonetheless. The girl who could freeze things was muttering to herself, and Miyako couldn't help but wonder if she was truly mentally ill.

"I think I have questions to answer, to all of you. To do that, however, I need everyone to remain calm, quiet, and to listen. Do you all understand?" Shinji said stepping to the front of the room and Miyako sat a little straighter in her seat. She was most eager for him to answer her question. He looked at everyone in turn, but Miyako gave him a hard look back as his gaze went to her. She wouldn't fall for his games, and she didn't feel very trusting towards him, despite how calm she was feeling. Shinji raised his voice and spoke. "That includes you, Jeremy. If you would be so kind as to join us, I'll be more than happy to begin." That must be the name of the other boy who had left.

Jeremy entered the room, looking ay Shinji. He then had his notebook out as well. Jeremy watched Shinji, and was writing down everything he said. At the same time, he had made smaller sketches of everyone in another section. In this section, he had all the names he heard that were associated with faces, with any powers he heard as well. Profiles. He simply sat down by the door, notably keeping separate from everyone else, unable to know whether they are helpful, or hurtful.

Thats when he noted something else in his notebook. Find safe place later

Thats when he waited to hear what Shinji had to say. Although Jeremy had absolutely no indication at all of it, he didn't trust Shinji. Possibly because he doesn't really trust that many people anyways.

Lily shrunk in embarrassment. Not only had she failed to correctly say 'arigato, she had made Miyako clean her the wound that she hadn't even noticed! Her cheeks shone a faint pink and she shook her head again, thin black hair falling over her eyes. Small stabs of pain seemed to radiate up from her arm, and Lily gingerly looked as blood stained her skin, the fluffy towel, and her clothing. Lily averted her eyes then, deciding to send a sad glare at Sebastian, the Cat Boy. When she saw that he smiled back at her, she deepened her glare into a scowl.

"I'm fine." She muttered in a hard edgy voice.

He's smiling at me. What does he want? I don't understand!

"I think I have questions to answer, to all of you. To do that, however, I need everyone to remain calm, quiet, and to listen. Do you all understand?" Lily snapped her gaze to Shinji, tall and authoritative. He made his way, positioning himself at the fore, with a strange, self-important sort of expression etched on his face. Lily brushed her bangs out her eyes and got a clearer view of the caretaker. He looked slightly anxious, and possibly even reluctant. Lily pursed her lips impatiently.

We all deserve answers!

Lily glanced at Miyako who sat straight as a pencil, at rapt attention. Lily, feeling somewhat sullen, decided to try and copy her. She straightened her back, puffed up her chest, and widened her eyes directly at Shinji, who was gesturing to the drawing boy, Jeremy, to come back into the room. He did; but rather than sit at the table, he sat with his back up against the wall, still isolating himself from the others.

Lily pondered briefly if she was going to have to fight for her powers, alongside with Miyako's yet unanswered question, but that was when the sleepy boy seemed to snap to life. He began peppering Shinji with questions, always interrupted with some sort of pained look to his face. His powers... whatever they are. Questions about Shinji's intention, why everyone here has.... has powers. But the pain seemed to win and he succumbed, screaming and sobbing 'stop it! stop it!' Dragon girl came up and comforted the sleepy boy, soothing him, and introduced herself as Nell, and her dragon as Brom. Lily looked into herself and focused hard on the image of a Piranha Plant, from the Super Mario Games. Prahna.

Prahna seemed to appear out of thin air, a red and green plant with sharp teeth, in a pipe. It rose up in the air and sprinkled some sort of dust onto the sleepy boy, to make him drowsy, in some sort of anesthetic state to perhaps null the pain. Lily felt a terrible rush of fatigue go through her, however, and slumped back into her chair, unsummoning Prahna. She felt out a weak moan, hugging the Phina doll towards her.

Jeremy sat quietly. He made no seeming response.

Jeremy might look silent on the outside, but inside, he was a total time bomb, with several mini-explosions already going off.

But that was beside the point. He just sat there, drawing. He did have some questions in his head, such as "Where was the rooms" and "What is so special about room 12?". But he didn't trust anyone here, nor did he find he had a reason to speak right now. He didn't want to. THis of course having to do with his history of caretakers. In fact, although he might not show it at all, he most likely trusts Shinji the least out of everyone. He just wont admit it, or show it.

After the Director and Shinji had their little talk, and he recording ever bit of it in his journal, he followed the Director to his room.

Room 1.

Of course im in Room 1.....

He grabbed the door handle and opened it, however, then experiencing another memory. He could see someone opening the door, but seemingly startled, quickly turning around and asking "Who are you?". He then aproched Jeremy while he was viewing the memory, actually stopping his finger right at his nose, then poking it through his eye. Of course, he wasnt actually physical, so it didn't give really any feeling, although he did instinctively blink. He then noted "Okay, just another vision...". THats when the memory ended. Jeremy sighed. That was never boring or strange. At least it made some sense, the other one was just a quiet table of kids.

Thats when it finally hit him. Quiet kids. Since when do kids sit quietly at a table, unless there is some sort of bad feeling in the air.

But what feeling was that?

Miyako stifled a chuckle as the Director literally popped out and began insisting on playing with Sebastian. The Director was amusing, especially in comparison with Shinji, but she had not forgotten that the Director was just that, The Director. Her assumption was that he ran every aspect of this place and somehow procured the means to take their abilities away and she wasn't soon going to forget it.

As they made their way upstairs and through hall, people were being placed into their rooms. She glanced over at Sebastian who was still furry and whispered. "You know, you would be very popular back in Japan. I once had to dress up like the way you look for my job. I never thought it would be a possibility to actually be that way." She smiled at him and faced forward again. Jeremy had detached himself from the group at his room which was the first fairly soon.

Miyako was surprised to find that she was next to the boy. She was also pleased to find that her door plaque read her name in both english and japanese, giving her some feeling of home. She opened the door and gasped rather loudly. "Sugoi na. It's amazing" she said at the sight of her room. It was everything and more than she could ever ask. It was completely surrounded by water save the walkway to the one spot of dry in the center. On it was a simple futon and a simple japanese style dresser. She turned back to Lily and gave her an encouraging smile as if to say 'You'll be fine' and walked into her room. She noticed her bags sat next to the dresser in the middle, and though she was tired from the long trip from Japan, she was eager to get settled. She was glad that she never wear many clothes, as it gave her more room to pack her more personal items. She meticulously combed through her bags and placed the items in their appropriate places. She kept her favorite doll on the highest part of the dresser she could find.

It had been given to her on the last Hina Matsuri (girl's day) she had celebrated with her family. A small tear welled in her eye at the thought of her family and she quickly swiped it away. They shunned her, so why should she think about them now?

She looked back at the futon. She had unpacked everything she carried with her and the futon seemed to call her name. Figuring she could do nothing else for the day, Miyako laid on her futon and drifted into sleep.

Jeremy fell out of his bed. "Ow...". He then got up, rubbing his head. He was still groggy, seeing as how he didn't have a single good nights sleep. He got dressed, and grabbed his notebook. He then looked around is room. Something seemed off. He just couldn't tell what it is.

He began to walk down to the room, however, he then accidentally bumped into one of the guards. He fell down a little, while the guard said rudely "Hey, keep your eyes open, runt...". I am not a runt....... he thought, picking up his notebook. He then made a sketch of him, making a profile as well. He noted he was rude, and then went back to his other Sketches. He was adding more detail to each one now. As he walked into the dining room, he actually sat at the table this time. Probably because the food might spill this time. He didn't talk though, he just ate. A lot. He must have a huge appetite or something.

He was so tired, he didn't even register that The Director was in the room.

Lily was already awake by the time the Director called everyone for breakfast. To be honest, she had been awake for a few hours now, woken up from a rather graphic flashback of that night. She had visible bags under her eyes and red marks in the palms of her hands from clenching them too hard. A little depressed huff of breath escaped from her lips as she ruefully threw on a long black robe, striped green at the hems. Her hair was all mussed up, like a bird's nest, but she discovered that she didn't really care.

Miya... Wouldn't she want me to look proper?

She shook her head and started brushing her hair, and summoning Phina briefly to heat it up and straighten it. Her hair caught on fire, so with a squeal, Lily submerged her head into the cool water at the side of her room. After the fire died out, she decided on a simple look, with her hair tied yp in the back and bangs tat, if shaken right, would hide her eyes from the world. Her Bangs of Doom. Lily giggled, feeling cheered up and she walked out of her room. She saw Miyako at the table, eating, along with Jeremy and Castila, so an idea sparked in her head. She went to Room 2, Miya's room, and started to open it a creak. She saw only a brief glimpse of water when a guard pulled her back from the room, with a frustrated look.

"Get to breakfast." The guard muttered. "God, I hate supernaturals. Think they can do everything..."

After that incident, she plopped onto a seat next to Miyako and grinned at her and her gigantic pile of food. There was already food set up for her- some fruits, eggs, bacon and a waffle. But then, her stomach reeled at the idea of the fat, greasy bacon going down her throat and digested, and she quickly imagined herself as fat and sweaty as a product of the meat. Lily blinked hard and made those feelings go away as best as she could.

"Uhh. Miya?" Lily asked timidly. "I'm... uh. I'm a v-vegetarian, okay? But thank you!"

Raegen groaned, she was't really awake even when she heard the Director yelling throughout the house to wake up. She was not a morning person and especially this early. She pulled the pillow over her head and muttered "just ten more minutes Mom" she rolled back over on her side with the pillow over her ears. She then heard the guard knockin on everyones door, when the guard got to her door he knocked and she yelled "go away". The guard opened the door and looked at her "rise and shine its time to get up" and he stood there waiting. She had a urge just to use her fire but she didn't, she rolled out of bed "okay im up, im up now get out....please" she muttered, the guard left and Raegen grab a pair of black baggy pants and a hoody, she got dressed and brushed her hair then pulled the hoody over her head and went to the table. She sat at the end of the table seeing there was a few people already there and the director, she still didn't know other peoples names but she wasn't in the mood to be social. She grabbed some fruit and eggs, sitting slumped in the chair she started eating slowly.

Jeremy sat there, his sketchbook right next to him, eating peacefully. Jeremy observed that table, seeing what unfolded. What he didn't see however is the guard walking up behind him. It was the guard he had beaten before. However, the look on his face looked like he was out for blood. While Jeremy peacefully ate in quiet, the guard came up from behind and grabbed Jeremy's sketchbook. However, Jeremy grabbed it, not giving it up easily. He pulled on it, and Jeremy only said "Give. It. BACK!". The guard however grabbed him by the arm, preventing his hand from touching him so he cant activate his power.

"LET GO!!!" he noted, but the guard grabbed his other arm. "Who is helpless now....". Thats when, he used the guard holding him to his advantage, and lifted his legs up, kicking the man right in the chest with both feet, causing him to drop Jeremy. Jeremy charged after him because he still had his Sketchbook. The guard tried to punch him, but Jeremy grabbed the guard, and he drained his energy. Enough for him to pass out right there. Jeremy stumbled back at first, a bit shocked, but then he grabbed his Sketchbook. Jeremy then stormed off, while two other guards were checking on their own fallen.

Jonathan was watching the elemental double act at the other end of the table. It was amazing how they would work together like that.
"Wish I had someone to cancel out my power..." Then came the scream.

"Give. It. BACK!"

Jonathan stood up slowly, using his full height to his advantage and walked towards the two. He was exhausted, but not completely useless. The guard had grabbed his arm, stopping the boy from touching him.
"He's trying to use his power!"
"Hey kid!"

"LET GO!!!"

The kid managed to get free but charged at the guard again. Jonathan picked up the pace.
"Hey! Stop!" The guard dropped to the ground unconscious and the boy stormed away from them. Jonathan went after him.
"Hey, would you please stop! I need to talk to you!" He caught up to the boy and crouched down in front of him so that they were at the same eye level.
"I know that guard was unfair, and that he shouldn't have done that but you can't use your power on him like that. That's like if we didn't have abilities and I just hit you for no reason. I'm bigger, older and stronger so I had no right to do it to someone smaller, younger and weaker than me. It's the same thing. He has no ability of his own which means that you have no right to use yours against him. Do you understand?" He said and asked in a quiet voice. Jonathan wasn't happy about what had happened to the guard but he was asking for it. He just wanted the kid to understand why they shouldn't use their abilities on normal humans.
"My name's Jonathan. What's yours?"

Sebastian nodded at Miyako, still smiling. When he got the glare from Lily, he just shook his head. He didn't understand what was wrong with her. She was looking protective over Miya, but, he still couldn't understand why. He had no intentions of hurting her. Or anyone for that matter. If anything he was here to make up for what he did. He had very conflicting emotions, because when he was a lion, things were different. He still had control over himself, and he chose the way he behaved, but the emotions didn't quite transfer the same. Lions don't feel guilty for killing, so that emotion was never created even in human form for this situation. If he had done it while he was human, he would have felt entirely different. It also could havebeen that fact that the guys were hardly friends. He feels bad about what happened, but not for what he did. He felt bad that the guys were stupid enough to threaten him. He was here to even things out. Help some people, then move on with his life.

He thought it best to just leave the situation with Miyako and Lily alone for now, so he focused on what Rae and Casi were saying. At first Castila was upset, but Raegan helped her. He smiled and sat down. As he watche her gratefully eat her food, he noticed Lily re-entering the room. Strange, he hadn't noticed her leaving. He sighed and leaned back in his chair, seitchinghis gaze from Casi and Rae to Miyako and Lily. He looked up to see Jeremy yelli g ata guard and the next thing he knew, the guard was on the floor, Jeremy was fleeibg the room, and Jonathan was after him. Sebastian made it a point to introduce himself to those two later, after things calmed down.

Sebastians attentipned fluttered back to Casi in time to hear her say when she touched the girl, she frozen instantly. He frowned and gave her a sympathetic look, even though she wasn't looking at him. That must have been what she had done to be forced to come here. He looked to Raegan, waiting to see if she would tell her story.

Jeremy had stormed out of the dining room and into the main hall by the time Jonathan started yelling.

"Hey Stop" he could hear from someone behind him, but he didn't care. He was too upset to care.

"Hey, would you please stop! I need to talk to you!" he said again, this time block his way.

"Just let me go!" he yelled, and notably, he had started crying a little as well.

Do you understand?"

"Really, I think defending myself is a perfect reason too! And you think I asked for this! You don't even KNOW what I have been through. I have dealt with more....with more...with more shit...." he started, clearly already a bit emotionally unstable, and then taking a deep breath, before continuing to yell, saying "...then you ever have!! Do you know how much pain I have to deal with! Do you want to know WHAT my powers first did! They killed my parents. And that's was because they beat me and insulted me on a daily basis! So don't even consider once you know what I went through! Lets not forget the foster parent that tried to kill me! And then I killed her by mistake too!".

By now, Jeremy had broken down into an all out waterfall of tears. Way to go Jonathan, you made a near 12 year old cry.

But notably, the more the story went on, it seems as if there was wood cracking around him. It was his power. Once he absorbs energy, he can manipulate it. Humans had a lot of energy, more then they knew.....

Jonathan felt the need to comfort him but he couldn't move too close for fear of killing him. What the boy had said only partly related to his own history. Jonathan moved back, realizing something bad would happen if he stayed that close.
"A-actually..." He hadn't told anyone about his past, not even his closest friends who were practically family to him.
"I kind of know what you've went through... Your ability might have killed the people who hurt you, but my power killed the one who didn't. The one who would always defend me. Always take the hit for me. My father was a violent drunk who would hit anyone who got in his way. A few times, he was ready to hit me but mom...mom would always move his anger onto her and take the beating for me." He could feel tears building in his own eyes. Closing his eyes, he continued , his voice beginning to shake. He fought to remain calm.
"We left him around an hour after Christmas Day had ended. A number of years later he..." Jonathan opened his eyes and felt a tear run down his cheek. "he found us and would follow my mother to terrify her. After a few weeks of this though he must have got bored of following her and instead decided to beat her within an inch of her life. She took the beating for me yet again. When she came back home, I was looking after her 24/7. But dad, he...he got the taste for hurting people while sober and now he started with me. Threatening to hurt me, kill me. Finish the job with my mother. I was scared, and I was alone because I couldn't tell anyone in fear that he would kill us before anything could be done." The tears were flowing now. His voice was very quiet and shaking violently.
"And I went to my mother while she was asleep...and I took her hand...and my power killed her with her own fears. There's a lesson to learn here: don't ever think that you're life is worse than someone else. You killed people who hurt you. But I have to live with the guilt and pain of killing someone who only ever tried to help me. I have to live the rest of my life knowing that her last moments were lived in fear. And it's all because of me." He opened his mouth to continue, but closed it again. Standing up slowly, he wiped his eyes and stepped past the kid. Jonathan had to help him in some way and this seemed best:
"If you've got any more problems with the guards then come to me. I'll handle it. There's no reason that someone as young as you should have to." He walked back to the table and sat in his seat. He his tear filled, tired eyes scanned the teenagers before him.
[i["How many have been through the same thing as me? How many have killed someone close to them?"[/i] He looked down and slowly finished the breakfast in front of him.
