Has a tattoo across his left arm in Latin saying, 'DURA LEX, SED LEX,' which translates to 'The law is harsh but it is the law.' Above the text is a two-headed eagle, with the eye of the left head closed, and the eye by the right remains open.

Johann is not a very tall man. He is a mesomorph, with short, neat hair. His grey eyes are brilliant and deep, and one would find that it is hard to dismiss his eyes. Despite their beauty, there is some inescapable darkness in them, observing, judging, planning. He has thin lips and a sturdy jawline hidden by his beard. His chin is quite prominent, as well, and in his youth, he was considered a handsome man, but he attempts to cover up his etherial form, and he does it quite well. He has a broad nose with a roundness to it. When he walks, he walks tall and straight, giving him an air of palpable authority, even among those taller than him.

β Johann is quite unlike his comrade hunters. Though he values teamwork, his strategies of catching his prey are considered too boring. He is silent and intelligent, but with a small hint of a Napoleonic complex. He thinks of himself as being higher, and thus, acts more like a boss than an actual leader. He hates lazy workers, but he himself is lazy. He usually quotes General Erich von Manstein; "The fourth kind of officer is the lazy, intelligent one. They are deserving of the highest office." He commands from an outpost, occasionally going out with his comrades and hunting down the transgressors and outcasts. He is strictly lawful, and is intolerant of lawbreakers, be it others, or his men. If he breaks a law by accident, he punishes himself by fasting and working extensively. He is merciless once he begins his mission, for he views himself as a son of Nemesis, the goddess of divine vengeance. He believes that the doors of mercy had closed a long time ago when the war ended and the utopia came about. However, he scoffs at the term utopia. It was an impossibility. However, he believes that the dystopian world they lived in was the only thing capable of keeping the greater society alive, to keep out the evils that come with raw human instinct. When he was younger, he was free-spirited, but he studied philosophies in his spare time and his eyes became opened to the law. He became the law. As for his strategy, he merely took out his tactics from Sun Tzu's the Art of War and various other military strategies employed successfully. Honestly, he doesn't enjoy killing people. Instead, he likes to keep them completely incapacitated. If that doesn't stop, immobilise, or discourage them, he would make them pull out their weapons. If they do, then Johann would feel like the right to kill was finally his. He only toys with his prey when it was completely necessary, or if he was in the mood to play with his comrades. However, in the end, his strategy consists of being mobile and taking multiple targets out at once. β

Johann was once a soldier who fought in the war. His early life was blurry, but the part about the warβthat, he could remember well. He remembered fighting for the side he believed in, the comrades he made, the victories they hadβbut then the nukes flew. He felt his heart break when his enemies were nuked to dust. He felt he could have done something better. He felt he could have defeated the enemy without a single loss, but the governments of the earth denied him that right of rising to become the next Caesar, or the next Napoleon. The war ended. Many of his comrades were killed off. However, while in the destroyed and ransacked city, he realised he had no money. His powers showed then when he blinded a lone mugger by emitting a great blinding light. The others found him, and tested him. They realised he could not just emit great bright lights, but he could also manipulate light, allowing him to go invisible to others. He did not understand how he became a being of such power, but when he did, he followed the masters of old, and helped the building of Eden. He was a contributor to the dystopian side of things. He wanted complete order, like what he wanted before he became a soldier. He had been authoritative and authoritarian for a long time, and this was his time to shine, or at least create a world that was perfect in his own eyes. The highest of the seraphs accepted and integrated a treatise he drafted into their ways of governance, and it became how things were run from that point on.
The first of the rebels started to come along. Being an experienced soldier, Johann was sent to destroy those who broke the peace. He made his name known to the higher-ups when he dismantled the rebellion without inflicting much casualties. He merely cut them off, starved them out, and imprisoned one of them. He interrogated this person, and found his second ability: the ability to peer into the minds of others and pull out the truth. At first, he was uncertain of the vision he saw, and the voice whispering to him which told him the exact location of the leaders. He found the leaders hiding in an apartment, and he murdered all of them, slaughtered the rebels like pigs. His ability to find the truth was realised, and after that, the demoralisation turned the weak humans into the losers of their own rebellionβthe first rebellion to come. They saw his capacity to become a leader of the first hunting units. He hunted down convicted terrorists and plotters, using his abilities as a Seraph to root them out and nip them in the bud before anything big happens. After years, however, he was eventually assigned to a hunting unit outside Eden. He was finally tasked with the destruction of the outcasts. He wanted to question his superiors, but orders were orders. However, when he saw his unit, he was demoralised. He saw that many of them were playful and would not heed to his philosophy of swiftness in what he believed to be a battle against the traitors. This did not stop him, though. He's managed to cope with them somehow, and has begun adapting to their tactics, though as of now, he's only begun to adapt.
