Description

Image

Nickname: Melody Mousie Small
Age: Seventeen
Role: Dormouse
Height: 5 feet 3 inches, which she finds perfect because it isn’t too small yet small enough as she can’t see herself as a very tall person.
Weight: 114 ibs
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Tattoos/Scars: She surprisingly has a tiny tattoo on the side of her hand, a small musical note because of her name and her love of music.
Facial Appearance: Melody is naturally a dirty blonde, but at times her hair seems browner and other times it seems blonder. Though it doesn’t really make a different to her. She has light hazel-nut eyes which seem normal from the distant, but up close you can see specks of yellow and grey, making them seem more unusual. Her figure is a hourglass, though she is slightly on the slim side.

Crush: Melody has a slight crush on the Tarrant, the Mad Hatter, due to the reason that they are both in the same club and over time she secretly developed a liking, though she makes sure never to show it.
Personality: Melody is a socially awkward girl and has no sense of direction; she is clumsy and is easily distracted which can cause her to be flustered and baffled quite easily. Because of her lack of social communication she has become more isolated and distant from people around her and is shy and quiet when first introduced. During this time, she may show little interest in getting to know other people, but only due to the fact that she feel as if people won’t like her. She is known for telling useless and sometimes unusual and weird facts about things that no one cares about and cares about her few hobbies that she holds close to her.
Danger Level: She isn’t much of a danger, normally anyway. Around about a 3 or a 4 on a everyday bases, but she knows that when quite serious and angry, which is rare, she seems to show signs of great aggression and can surprisingly be terrifying, though this is not really known and she keeps this a undisclosed. She isn't sane of course, and as someone who is apathetic, she finds it difficult to show her caring side, but due to this, her emotions get heightened in extremes.
Aspirations: As someone who always likes to plan and have a stable life, she really hopes to someday own a café which includes her own sweet recipes and tea.
Dominant Emotion: Nervousness
Quirks/Oddities: Melody is very much an awkward person so she has a many quirks which include
- Has a weakness for rescuing stray animals.
-Constantly quotes favorite movies and can usually identify the movie that a quote may come from.
-Singing randomly and sometimes doesn’t even notice she is doing so.

Image

Likes:
+ Baking, cooking old recipes and making it her own. Usually it is sweet things not savory but she doesn’t exactly mind.
+ Music, surprisingly, she can play many instruments, ranging from piano, guitar, flute and violin. But as favourite genre goes, she pretty much loves them all. Also, she finds her name quite matching to herself in general.
+ Sleeping and she can never sleep ‘too’ much.
+ Books, Novels in specific. She likes old fashioned typed books and classics.
+ Antiques and Vintage items.

Dislikes:
- Awkward situations/conversation.
-The dark, or to be more specific, being alone in the dark.
-People that have too much authority or people with authority that abuse their power. Also, they tend to make her feel nervous.
-Crowded places, it makes her feel overwhelmed and claustrophobic.
Sexuality: Straight.

Average Clothing: Melody is very much into wearing casual, comfortable clothing, usually she likes matching vintage items, which are more jewelry with her outfits. But sometimes, in a weird day, you can see her wearing very girly, doll like clothing which makes her actually seem very innocent and different, but this is usually when she is having a bad day and can’t find any of her normal clothes.
Keepsakes/Special Items: Throughout her life, she has never carried many things with her and because of this only has a few memorable possessions to her name. However, she carries her rather large black art case with inside is filled with art mediums and her loyal sketchbook. Also, she cares with her an old pocket watch which she never talks about so the previous owner is unknown.

Bio: Melody ‘Mousie’ Small is most certainly a fighter. As her father kept saying through her childhood. As an accident resulting her mother’s stupidity, she was a ‘love child’ of a secret affair her mother had on the side. However, her father being too foolish and too ‘in love’ pretended not to notice and took Melody as his own daughter. Even though her mother never was a nice person and didn’t deserve the kindness. Throughout her childhood, as a outsider and ‘the reason for a huge gap’ between her parents relationship, her brothers never liked her and picked, bullied and fought with her, creating a strange girl who never fought back.
She was known as the ugly duckling while her brothers surprisingly took after their beautiful mother with her dark locks and tanned skin, picking up their fathers tall and muscular structure and their own annoying and horrible personalities. Not getting anything of her mothers, Melody had inherited her secret father’s blonde hair and fair eyes. Something else to keep her apart from her said to be family. But she finally found what she calls a safe haven when she got sent to the academy where she can finally be away from all her family.
However, as someone who is never too comfortable around the same place for too long, she finds it difficult to fully open up because she can only hear her mother’s taunts and so she pushes herself to become the best she can be to try and obtain her mother’s love, even though it can sometimes just cause her more harm than good.
One Greatest Fear: The dark. As silly as it might sound, she hates the dark, but it’s more to do with pitch black darkness around her and her being all alone. This has more to do with her past and how it always reminds her of everything she wants to forget.
One Greatest Secret: She is never truly herself for too long, and so she classes herself as a ‘fake’
Theme Song: Marie Digby; Miss Invisible
The beginning, in the first weeks of class
She did everything to try and fit in
But the others they couldn't seem to get past all the things that mismatched on the surface
And she would close her eyes when they left and she fell down the stairs
And the more that they joked
And the more that they screamed
She retreated to where she is now

Anastasia, always having been an early riser, had been roaming the grounds for some time. She stopped and talked with nearly everything she came in contact with, calling it by name, as though she was saying hello to her friends. In her mind, they were her friends. One could often find her chatting with trees, walls, even other students' backpacks. Of course, inanimate objects weren't her only friends - she knew everyone in Wonderland Academy, and often considered them her friends - even if the feeling wasn't requited.

She hadn’t put much thought in what she was wearing that morning. It was a simple, white dress with white flats over white tights. In fact, the only thing on her body that had any color (after her bright blue eyes, of course) was the silver locket that matched her brother’s ring.

Currently, she was sitting in a tree, unknowingly having climbed it a bit more gracefully than her friend, the Hatter. The tree, whose name was Frank, talked slowly and was wise in the way that only those with experience could be. He was one of her favorite trees, or plants for that matter. She found things like shrubs rather dull, since they'd been anchored in one spot, their roots only reaching so far, for their entire lives. Frank however, had his roots out for entire feet, most of them longer than Ana was herself.

After a few minutes, Frank told her that someone was coming. In order to get a better look, the pale girl flipped herself upside down to hang by her knees. Her dress was just long enough that it didn't fall over her head. "Oh, hello!" She greeted the blonde-brown-haired girl, "How are you this fine morning, Mouse?" Ana asked cheerily.

Marchy smiled a cheeky at the girl as he was about to tell her the direction. He's smile quickly faded at the sight of her hurrying and he got a quit puzzled looked. His arm stopped swinging the pocket watch and went straight down to his side, his ring finger twitching slightly. He eyed the girl as he hurried down the hall without even a proper hello or fair well. "Well, I'd say. That poor girl must be stark ravin' mad!" Marchy said, shaking his head slightly as his tourettes kicked in slightly and he practically shouted the last part.Turning around, he continued walking.

As he walked, he held his pocket watch, swinging it slightly again and humming a bit obnoxiously with a wide grin on his face. "How about a nice cup of tea?" Marchy asked himself, smiling. "Yes, just half a cup, if I do say so myself." He added, coming upon the door to the garden. Marchy say Tarrant, or Hatta as Marchy called him, and her highness herself out in the garden. The garden, what a lovely place it would seem if it wasn't run by someone who doesn't like anyone except her own in. Marchy stood and watched for a moment, his whole body seeming to tic every time his eye twitched. Then he sat down against the wall and started singing quietly to himself.

"Twinkle twinkle little bat, how I wonder where your at... No, no, no. That will never do. Huhum." Marchy smiled to himself. "Twinkle twinkle little ant, you look quit strange without your pants. Heem heem heem." March sang to himself, ending his little solo with a small laugh, childish laugh that seemed to echo through the hall. After a moment, he decided to hightail it to the Tea Party Table outside to grab some warm tea before it's all gone. Walking outside, Marchy looked around and saw Melody, or Mouse-wee as he called her, by a tree with a girl in white hanging out of it. He walked right up to them with a rather confused look on his face. "Why, my dear, are you hanging upside down in a tree?" Marchy asked Ana as he stood there next to Mouse-wee staring at the girl, his arms down by his sides with the chain of his pocket watch in one hand and his ring finger twitching slightly.

Andrew mulled over the fact he was waiting for something, he could feel it, and either he was just insane or he was correct, normally he was both. He twiddled his thumbs, looking straight ahead, as if the answer to his questions would simply fall right in front of him. A long stream of smoke snaked past his lips alongside a sigh. Just as he was about to give up on 'waiting' and stand to go sulk off to some high place, Chelle sat right next to him of the bench he was posted at, greeting him with his nickname. To be honest, he never could quite remember why he'd begun to be called caterpillar, but he heard stories of the result of his drunken misadventures.

With a puff of smoke escaping his lips, Andrew gave a slight smirk. "Something is upon us, it's presence resonates in my very bones." he said vaguely, still staring off straight ahead. "And hello. It must have been you I was waiting for this whole time." He caught movement out of the corner of his eye, finding a couple of people in a tree by the gardening club. Standing without a word, he abandoned his place at the bench, "Investigation is key." he muttered, the pipe bouncing on his lips as he spoke, walking towards the scene, assuming Chelle would follow.

As he approached he realized there were more people than anticipated; Marchy, Mousie, Hatter, Ana, and Julianna. Andrew knew all their names just from overhearing conversations, what he wasn't quite sure of was if they knew him. He looked to Julianna, raising an eyebrow slightly, "Such a shame, that followers leave a leader like a leaf leaves a tree." he stated with a smirk and smoke unintentionally blowing in her direction every other word, referring to the fact he saw none of her club members with her. Slowly Andrew sunk to the ground, crossing his legs as he refilled his pipe, lighting once again. With a long inhale, smoke leaked from his lips and he gazed up at everyone, leaning back slightly.

"Meow, baby."

Chelle walked alongside Andrew, raising an eyebrow at his comment about waiting. She vaguely wondered why she followed him, but shrugged it off as they approached the small, yet large group of people. She lounged on the ground beside her friend, lying down onto the soft grass. She closed her eyes, sighing as she relaxed.

"'Twas brilig, and the slithy toves," she singsonged to herself, her voice dropping into a lulling hum. She really did have a beautiful voice- it had a kind of husky whisper behind it, the type of voice that sang ballads and lullabies. "Did gyre and gimble in the wabe: All mimsy were the borogroves, and the mome raths outgrabe." Her voice dropped back into a hum, mimicking the melody she had sung.

"How're you enjoying the game, Andrew?" She chuckled, smirking. "This battle of sorts between the clubs. Interesting, no?" She was, of course, referring to Juliana's yells directed at the Hatter. She opened an eye, glancing up at Andrew.

Giving one last look at Ana in the tree, Marchy's eye twitched then he turned to see a familiar face or two. "Why, 'ello Mr. Cat-ee-pillor." Marchy said with a big cheeky smile, eyes wide, and twitching and ticking to his ever excitement. He heard what Mr. Cat-ee-pillor said, but didn't understand a thing. He watched as Hatta jumped down in front of Queen De Hearts and Marchy almost fell over laughing. Hatta was probably one of Marchy's favorite people in Wonderland for his happiness. Falling down clumsily, Marchy was on the ground like Mr. Cat-ee-pillor and Chess. "Oh, and a merry hello to you, Chessie." Marchy said, cheeky smile still on his face with wide eyes.

Then Marchy heard Chess starting to sing. His head tilted slightly, eye slightly twitching. Then, for the first time in awhile, he actually calmed down. Laying on his back on the ground with a small, normal smile on his face and eyes not so wide watching the white clouds passing through the blue sky. Someone singing was one of the only things to make Marchy this calm, well that and a half cup of tea with butter of course. Huhm…the tic's have stopped. On that note, once everyone was back to talking and-or arguing, Marchy's leg did the worst tic he had ever experienced, looking as if his leg was having a slight seizure of its own.

At that, Marchy shot off the ground like an excited child. His cheeky smile was back with the return of his wide eyes. "I've got an excellent idea, why don't we all sit down for a spot of tea?" One of the things Marchy almost always brings up in almost every conversation is tea. Why? Nobody knows. It's just one of the many things he seems to be obsessed with, that, his pocket watch, half cups of tea, and of course a stick of butter. Every tea party on whomever's un-birthday it's to be, Marchy will pull out his old pocket watch. One of the hands on the old, broken watch would move, like the tic a dead animal will have before its dies. Marchy call the thing a MAD WATCH! and take a whole stick of butter and a small mallet, smashing the butter on the poor watch then dipping in into a cup of tea. According to Marchy, Everything mad need their daily tea or you shall become mad as a march hair.

Marchy than ran inside the school, not waiting for anyone to comment on his statement of having a cup of tea for the lot of them. He went straight to where they kept the tea cups and tea, grabbing a cup for everyone, plus a few extra, and the kettle that had already been making fresh tea. As he carried everything in his arms, he walked past the new girl, the Tweedles, and Sky. "We're all having a spot of tea, if you would like to join us after you've gotten done what you've got to get done." Marchy said, a wide cheeky smile on his face and wide eyes. His tic seemed to be gone for the time being, so in all he looked like a child mostly. A very hyper skatterbrained child. Without even a mere hello or goodbye, Marchy was back outside by the others handing everyone a tea cup and with fresh tea, the tea was in the cup of course. He then sat himself down on the ground with crossed legs. The old pocket watch sitting on his thigh and a stick of better on a small saucer. He had the kettle, the creamer, and the sugar sitting on a silver tray i front of him and he sat there, drinking his tea, ticking slightly, and humming "Twinkle twinkle little star." in his head, changing the words of course.

"Meow, baby."

Chelle laughed at Andrew's statement, not surprised at how true it was. "'Deliciously vicious'?" She chuckled, grinning. "That almost rhymed," she singsonged. She calmly inhaled the smoke breathed in her direction- she was used to it by now, and it had stopped affecting her a while ago.

She paused for a second, observing the group before the Hare walked off, mentioning something about tea before running off. "I'll have to visit the tea room sometime today, I assume," she murmured. She had quite a liking for the stuff; not quite as obsessed as the Tea Club was, but she still visited the club often for free refreshments.

"Ah, they aren't the only ones who're crazy, my friend," she smirked, "we all know why we're here." Her teeth spread into an all-too-familiar grin, laughing at the statement as if she had made some crude joke. Yet, to her, it was- life was all one big show for her, a long-running joke played out for her and those who viewed it the same way. It was her own defense mechanism, her way of shielding herself from being too attached to anyone. Andrew was that exception, of course- someone she viewed as quite the oddity, seeing how their friendship had just...happened. She shook her head, trying to shoo the abstract thoughts from her mind.

"Are we skipping school today, Andrew?" She murmured, raising an eyebrow. They did this regularly, taking a day or two to themselves every week or so. Chelle enjoyed it very much- being away from the doting staff who reminded her of her parents, a wound she didn't want reopened very soon.

((NOTE: I got lost on who all was at the tea party, so I just tagged everyone XD))

Valerie smiled over at Skyler. "I like vanilla, too. And strawberry," she said, casting a grin in Harry's direction. "Actually, I just like sweets in general. It always astounded my friends how many sweet things I could eat without ending up fat and with cavities. It's just genes, I guess," she shrugged. On impulse, she reached over and grabbed Skyler's arm, then Harry's, and slid her arms through theirs, standing between them.

"I swear I don't bite, so you don't have to be so afraid to get near me. Besides, it's not like I'm chock-full of different diseases," she rolled her eyes as they turned the corner, her keen memory allowing her to remember precisely where they needed to go to reach the Garden.

She tossed a glance at Harry and smiled, remembering his earlier question before she had become distracted. "I don't think you're crazy. You two are just weird, like me," she said with undeniable confidence. She danced out of their arms and ahead of them, throwing her own arms out and twirling in a circle on her toe. "As I always say, embrace your inner weirdness," she laughed, basking in the sunlight she had danced out into, having pushed through the doors to get outside.

She looked over at Skyler and quickly read what he wrote, offering him a smile. "Alright, I guess I'll catch up with you later then," she said with a nod. She then tilted her head back and sighed. "I love the sun, don't you two?" she asked Harry and Henry. "I sure am going to miss it when winter comes around. It's a good thing I love the snow, too," she tacked on thoughtfully.

Turning, Valerie looked ahead of them, and a little ways away from the Academy was what was undoubtedly a green house. "That must be the garden, right?" she asked, already skipping in that direction. Yes, she was weird, but only because she was so happy and said the most random of things, but she wasn't insane. In truth, she was only doing it in an attempt to make Harry and Henry laugh and remain her friends.

She licked her lips. "Hmm, even the thought of tea and sweets is making me parched and hungry, despite the early hour," she said thoughtfully. "Alright, I'm definitely going. Shall we?" she asked, smiling over her shoulder at them. Without really waiting for an answer, she took off in the direction of the garden house, unaware of the insane - and dangerous - people she was about to meet.

She was more then excited to see the garden, for she'd always loved flowers, especially carnations and lilacs, so when she reached the gate enclosing the garden and heard the sound of distant voices, she opened the gate without a second thought and began into the garden.

Valerie's breath caught at the sight of the magnificent garden. Flowers, trees, bushes, anything anyone could imagine, were growing in the garden. lost in her own little world, she didn't realized she had reached the area the tea party was being held at. She snapped from her daydream and silent awe of the garden, freezing in place, her heart jumping into her throat at the sight of the people before her.

They were all obviously insane.

Swallowing her fear and summoning courage she hadn't realized was there, she lifted her hand into the air, just a little, casting a look over her shoulder for the comforting face of someone she knew. She looked back at the people before her.

"Hello," she managed, a bit weakly.

Harry laughed happily when Al-Valerie linked arms with them and skipped down the hall. This was the best day he'd had in a long while. They had made a new friend who didn't think they were crazy and was happy to have an adventure! He giggled excitedly and managed to twirl them around once before continuing in a straight line, just for the fun of it. They reached the doors leading outside then and Harry's heart soared. Valerie dashed ahead and out the doors with them hard on her tail. Harry never stopped smiling and laughed frequently in giddy excitement. She affirmed the fact that she didn't think they were crazy which caused Harry to throw his fists in the air in a sign of complete ecstasy. She liked them! She really liked them! It was rare for Harry to know that someone honestly, truly liked them, Skyler was like that, and now Alice was, too!

Harry twirled around her while she basked in the sun, hyper and very puppyish. He tripped once and sprawled on the warm grass, but only laughed, stood, and brushed himself off. Henry took a moment's control then. Rolling his eyes, he carefully cleaned the grass from his hair. "Sorry about Harry, again, he doesn't get someone who is this accepting very often. I generally don't care one way or the other, but it means the world to him. Thanks, Valerie." He winked softly before a huge grin spread over their face. "Henry!" Harry protested, "Can't take you anywhere!" Henry laughed on the inside and settled down again.

"I love the sun and snow, too! Henry gets grumpy whenever he's outside, though. Too dirty and too much movement." Harry exclaimed, prancing up to her and linking arms again. He liked it, it was fun and he generally wasn't allowed to get too close to people, either for their comfort or his and Henry's own safety. "I don't like rain, though, rain has too many memories. Henry and I are the same there." He shrugged dismissively and carried on with his new friend, behind her now that she began to run ahead. Harry laughed and called for her to wait up, already panting from their shenanigans. Most definitely, this was the best day EVER! Henry agreed for once.

Al-Valerie was far ahead of them and turned a corner as she saw the Garden. Harry wanted to see her face, the Garden made everyone catch their breath the first time they saw it. Henry didn't like the Gardening Club, and to be honest Harry didn't particularly enjoy being around them, too loud, but the Garden was always a treat. For Harry, at least. He skidded around the corner and slid to a stop behind Valerie as she fumbled out a hello. Harry nodded and waved at everyone. "Hey, guys! We heard there was tea! This is Al-Vale--oop, I mean..." they froze for a second before Harry's eyes widened and they jumped in the air, laughing and stammering excitedly, "AL-VAL! It rhymes!! Al-Val! Alvalalvalalval!! See, when we saw her in the hall she was flustered because it's her first day and she said her name was 'Al-Valerie,' and clarified Valerie, but Al-Valerie stuck in my head! Al-Val!!" He laughed and hugged his new friend without really noticing he had and rubbed his hair excitedly. "Sorry, I got excited, how is everyone! Henry is being grumpy today, so he may not be talking much."

Marchy sat there, enjoying his tea, thinking about random little thoughts that run into his mind, when someone picked up his tray with the tea, sugar, and cream all spilling over. "Well, that's not very civil, is it." He said, looking up at who had did it to see non-other than the Queen herself. Marchy sipped his tea as he watched her with a rather confused, frustrated look on his face, his eyes slightly closed from the sun beaming down. Then it hit him! The tray made contact with the side of his head and knocked him over. Marchy, being rather mad as he is, sat up slowly after it, putting his hand to the side of his head. He had a rather blank expression on his face after being hit with a tray without letting out a single solitary cry. Looking on the ground, Marchy saw the saucer that he had the butter in face down on the ground. He picked it up to see the butter all smashed into the grass. "That had been the best butter…" Marchy said he then stood up, still holding the saucer the butter had been on in his hand and had a very angry look on his face with his eye ticking furiously. He then throw the plate as hard as any madly insane person can, which is rather hard at that, right at the Queens head. He missed hitting her head by maybe an inch or two, it flying to the side passed her and breaking into a tree. Marchy then bent down and picked up a tea cup that had also fallen off the tray. "Don't forget your TEA!" He said before throwing the tea cup at the Queens head after missing the first time.

Not even waiting to see if he scored the hit, Marchy bent down and picked up his pocket watch that had fallen off his lap and putting it in his pocket. He gave one last look to the queen them headed over to the tea party table where he saw the Hatta, Mouse-wee, Ana, and the new girl he had…passed earlier. Giving just a mere nod to the bunch, Marchy just sat down and grabbed a cup of tea, ticking every so often.

Harry gaped his happy agreement at Melody before walking off to her, oblivious to if Alice was still attatched to him or stayed behind. "Yeah! Thanks! Hope you're having a good day so far!" He accepted the tea while waving a return to the other greetings and then looked at the table longingly. No strawberry cake. With a sigh, he smiled again as Tarrant replied to Alice and made his way to the head of the table.

But he hadn't responded to them.

Harry put the cup down halfway through adding sugar. "Hatter?" He sounded hurt, almost as if he were a child. "Hatter, wh... why didn't you say hi to Henry? He rarely says hi to anyone, but you ignored him."

"Harry, it's fine," Henry laughed, scratching the back of his neck. "If Tarrant didn't want to repl--"

"No, Henry, it's not fine!" he exclaimed. "You're worth people's time... You're worth everyone's time, Henry!"

"I'm really not, though, Harry, it's fine..."

Harry shook his head and looked down, struggling to keep it together. The anniversary was days away and people were already forgetting him! "It's not fair," he pouted.

Harry continued to glare at Hatter for a moment until Henry broke through and smiled boredly, but genuinely, at Valerie. "Thank you. It means more to him than me, again, but that's what usually is the case." He sipped at the tea Harry had made with a small smirk. At the sight of strawberry cake, however, his mouth began to water. He swallowed twice and accepted almost reverently. Eyes wide and mouth slightly open, he grinned a bit wider at the new girl. "Thank you," he breathed. Scooping up a knife, he carefully cut the small pastry in half, one for him and one for Harry. Perhaps that would put him in a better mood. He was touchy around this time and it seemed he had just had his first bout of the season. At least Valerie had gotten to see Harry's good side before... Well, not worth worrying over right now. Henry could mourn later.

He ate the half of the cake happily, but politely and quietly, saying nothing at all. He occasionally glanced at Hatter or Valerie, one because the man had upset Harry, and the other because she was pretty spectacular. Harry nodded his gloomy approval before taking over. Even when upset and quiet, energy seemed to come off of him. He didn't glance around, only stared at the table and wished Tarrant had paid attention to Henry.

Melody stared at Ana, “Fair point I suppose” She finally whispered, though they way she put it suggested that she didn’t want to carry the topic on.

She looked over at Henry/Harry and smiled. "I'm glad" and watched him walk away as her gaze settled upon Ana for just a second.

Her eyes skimmed around the surroundings around her, it seemed that everyone was enjoying the tea, and even Valerie enjoyed the cake. The conversation with Ana was something she wouldn’t exactly talk about in normal bases, but perhaps she just felt too tired to reject the topic, though quietly in her head her mother’s voice sounded.

“I am not my mother” she repeated from earlier but this time she actual thought it. It become an odd chant almost unusual...though to be fair, everyone was unusual.

She looked down at her finished tea, and felt a pull of happiness settle into her stomach. As least everyone is enjoying themselves. Quietly sighing, her eyes began to close slowly and she yawned gently.

Harry shuddered at the new arrival's presence. There were only a select few people in this world that Harry didn't like (though he never hated anyone), and Julianna was one of them. She didn't have the right to be as cruel as she was, wouldn't even have a flicker of consideration for anyone but herself, and she seemed to get some sort of kick out of hurting others. With a small, angry grimace on his face carried over from before, they stared her down. "Leave her alone," he mumbled.

Henry rarely had anyone he liked to the point of showing, but he rarely hated. Generally he had an air of apathy about him, but he really did care. Everything just bored him.

Julianna did the same to his nerves as it did to Harry's. Fixing a wide, sacharrine smile over their face, Henry tilted his head innocently and blinked a couple times. "Oh. It seems we are in the presence of royalty!" Sarcasm oozed from his voice as he shook his hands as though nervous. Dropping the facade with a short wink to Valerie he glowered up at her. "Forgive me if I don't grovel at your feet and cower. Leave this one alone or I swear you will never hear the end of it from myself or Harry." Even the thought of Valerie getting hurt churned in their stomachs. The rest of the Gardening Club were perfectly acceptable, but Julianna was not. In any sense. Whatsoever. Reasoning? She aggravated Harry. Anything that aggravated Harry (other than himself) wasn't to be near his brother.

Valerie couldn't help the eye roll that she made. What a conceited, arrogant, pompous ninny! She sipped at her tea, barely controlling herself and remaining in her controlled state. Do not grow angry ... Do not become angered ... Do not yell, scream, or shout ... She barely managed to get through Julianna's little lecture without blowing a fuse, but when she finally stopped chattering away in her oddly-annoying yet in a strange way hypnotizing voice, it was more of a relief than it should have been.

She glanced up as a boy sat down near her and began to speak, introducing himself. When he puffed out the small from his cigarette, it traveled across to her and broke away in a circle on her face, causing her to cough and wave her hand before lowering the tea cup she held. "Why who am I? I'm Alice, of course. But I tend to go by the name of Valerie. It's a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Caterpillar," she said, rising to give him a small curtsy. She then lowered herself back into her seat and turned her gaze to settle it on The Hatter.

"As for your earlier statement, I agree that the name Alice is quite lovely, but I despise it so. You would, too, if you meant to you what it means to me," she said, her eyes a bit darker with hidden sorrow. "And I am very happy now, thank you," she said, in an annoyed fashion, before turning to the girl who just randomly sat on the table.

They are all stark raving mad!

Valerie let out a breath and curtsied to the girl before sitting back down, not wanting to shake more hands then she already had today. "It's very nice to meet you, Miss Cheshire. My name is Alice, but please, call me Valerie," she said, offering her a kind smile. When the bell rang, she pushed herself up and stretched, a few joints popping, before smiling at everyone, even the 'Queen'. "Well, since you all have to return to class now, I suppose I will have nothing better to do than unpack my suitcases and then sit around for the rest of the day. That is, if the principal will return my things to me. I haven't a clue as to why he took them in the first place. It isn't like I'm a danger to anyone or myself," she said, obviously puzzled by this. She shrugged. "Oh well, I guess it just can't be helped," she added, finishing off her tea and setting it on the table. She turned from the small party and started in the direction of the gate of the garden, before she paused and looked over her shoulder at Julianna.

"Oh, and I suppose an answer to your earlier question about why I would like to live in a world without hatred and anger is long past due. It's quite simple, actually. Why live with hatred and anger to those around you that you truly do care about when life is so short and should be cherished?" she asked, tilting her head a bit to the side. She then flipped her hair a bit and started from the garden, picking her way carefully through it. Only, she realized too late that she must have made a wrong turn, for she had walked for only a few minutes before realizing she was completely and utterly lost. Again.

She stood in a small circle of bushes with a large apple tree in the center, which she now stood below, casting shadows all around her. The air had gone still and it was quiet, almost too quiet. The shadows seemed to move of their own accord, ominously, for there was no breeze. For no reason at all, she felt her heart leap into her throat, of nothing other then fear. In an attempt to calm herself, she lowered herself onto a bench underneath the tree, bouncing her leg as tears formed in her eyes. For some odd reason, she couldn't control what happened next. One moment, she was sitting there, just a bit afraid, and the next, she was crying.

"Oh, why did I ever have to go an agree to come to this stupid Academy?" she whispered, dropping her face into her hands. Her tears merely soaked into her skin and slipped between her fingers, dripping onto the grass below her. She swallowed back a sob as an old saying from when her mother was alive reentered her mind.

"It's good advice to stay where you are, until someone finds you," she whispered. Only, she added a part. "But who would ever look for me here?" she sniffled a little. Drawing her legs up and tucking her skirts down so that her dress still covered her and she wasn't indecent, she buried her face in her knees. "The people here are mad and I just want to go home. I told grandmother that I wasn't ready to go anywhere, not so soon after Amanda ..." she clutched her sister's locket in her hand, so hard that it left an indent in her palm. Reciting a quote she and her sister had lived by, she said it in a wobbly voice, thick with tears. "Fate made us sisters, but by choice we were best friends .. And you will always, always remain my sister ..."

Valerie wrapped her arms around herself and drew in a few ragged breaths in an attempt to calm herself, only to be scared shitless as a girl that had been at the tea party appeared almost out of nowhere. She let out a sound of surprise and flew up from the bench, nearly falling on her face in the process. She managed to catch herself on the tree beside the bench and looked at the girl with wide eyes.

Her jaw clenched slightly as she fought back the tears that wanted so badly to spill and looked away from the girl to wipe at her eyes with her wrist. Drawing a tissue from a concealed pocket sewn into her dress, she dabbed at her tears and sniffed a little. “It isn’t just that everyone is so … So … welcoming,” she said quietly. She dropped back down on the bench. “I just want to go home, and I’m never going to at this rate,” she murmured.

She paused and mulled over the girl’s, who she now knew was named Melody, words. I should at least try …? She frowned a little. “I’m Alice, but please, call me Valerie,” she mumbled. “I apologize, and I don’t mean to be rude, but I would like to be alone, as you said. I’m sure I’ll be able to find my way out, so don’t worry about me,” she said, shaking her head a little. “It was a pleasure meeting you …” she tacked on, rising again.

She let out a cry as a voice piped up behind her, causing her to whip around and fall in the process. She landed on her rear and rubbed at it for a moment before slowly pushing herself up. “You people really need to stop appearing out of nowhere,” she muttered grumpily. She brushed off her dress and managed to get the grass and dirt off, but would need to wash it multiple times to get the grass stain out. She returned her attention to Tarrant as he approached her and held out the rose, causing her to blink almost dumbly at him. After several moments of her only staring, she finally accepted the rose and studied it. Lifting it to her nose, she inhaled deeply then let out the breath slowly, her eyes closed in contentment. “It smells amazing,” she said, trailing the petals across her cheek. “And it’s soft,” she added, managing a small smile. She opened her eyes and peaked up at him, her face tinged red. She cleared her throat and lowered the rose, broke the stem, then settled it in her hair, just before her ear.

She finally looked down, her intention to study her hands in embarrassment, only to zone in on his hands. “You’re bleeding!” she gasped, grabbing his wrists and lifting his hands before her face. “You must have broken the skin on one of the thorns on the rose,” she said, eying the blood trickling down his finger. She removed the napkin from her pocket again and swiped up the blood that had begun down his hand, lightly kissed the spot where it had been pricked, then pulled a band aid from her pocket. She wrapped it around the cut then held it up before him, clucking her tongue lightly. “You should be more careful. Blood spilled is never truly replaced. Besides, you’re my new friend. I hate it when the people I care about are hurt,” she smiled, her spirits suddenly uplifted. She had to admit, something about him had helped her mood increase. It probably helped that he was quite handsome, despite his obvious madness. Her smile wavered a little at the thought of the craziness she had been subjected to in only a short few hours. “Tarrant … What is this school, really? It isn’t just a school for geniuses, is it?"
